The Human Realm Adventures of the Blight Twins AU

This story starts on The Day Of Unity.

The Owl House Season 2, Episode 20,

"Clouds On The Horizon".

It follows the events of the episode, but from the point of view of Emira Blight.

This story veers away from the Canon when Emira and Edric discover something that their father, Alador, had been working on in his work room....

The story starts here...

It was a total accident, me getting here. Wherever 'here' is?

Our attempts to steal Kikimora's Airship while the crew were arranging to load the next shipment of Abomatons to take to the arena were dashed when Mom set two of them to catch me and Ed.

Dang! I should have realized that she was using her Oracle powers to watch what we were doing!

As we were carried up to The Manor, we could see that the others were also caught.

A depressing sight.

The Abomatons delivered us to our rooms, standing guard outside.

More guards were outside, so trying to escape by the window was out!

Luckily, the connecting door between the rooms still worked, so we could sit together, and talk about what might happen next.

Suddenly, there was a series of explosions coming from the factory.

At first, we thought that maybe Mittens and the others had succeeded in getting free.

Then, as we watched, something big crashed out through the roof of one of the buildings, and flew off towards The Head.

A short while later, Ed pointed at the Abomatons outside the Manor. They had stopped moving, and looked like they were shutting down.

Cautiously, we tried the door.

The Abomaton outside the door had shut down!

Sensing that this was our chance, me and Ed made a break for it, and ran downstairs, out the front door, heading down to the Factory.

We were nearing the Factory, when the Airship took off, rapidly disappearing in the direction of The Head.

We ran to see what had happened to Mittens and the others, but there was no sign of life.

We went looking for Dad, and the others.

But he wasn't in his work room.

We searched the entire Factory, it took ages, but there was no sign of anyone.

We came to the conclusion that they must have all been on board that Airship!

Then the eclipse went into totality.

We stood there, unable to take our eyes away from the weirdly Glowing moon.

The light was strange too. Like dusk in the middle of the day!

Without warning, a beam of light emerged from the area of the Arena, and seemed to surround the Moon.

It was hypnotizing.

Then something totally weird happened!

It looked like the moon suddenly jumped sideways!

We hid our eyes from the sudden brightness of the sun.

Then there was a distant rumble in the air, and, looking towards The Head, parts of it seemed to be exploding!

We ran back to Dad's workshop. Looking for anything to give us a clue to what had happened.

Nothing but empty snack bags, and part empty Abomination Casks. Bits and pieces everywhere.

There was this sheet, covering something big against the wall.

We uncovered it, and it was a door.

I joked with Ed, as to where this doorway went to and opened the door, I was only going to look, but I ended up going through it.

There was a bright light, and I fell forward, landing on an old wooden floor, in a building.

The door slammed shut as soon as I was through.

I got up, and tried opening the door.

It opened to reveal a dark, wooded area, and it was raining!

So, I closed the door, I wasn't going out in the Boiling Rains!

I sat down on a chair, and tried to calm myself down.

Where the Titan was this place, and how could I get back home?

Then, I heard footsteps approaching the door, from outside!

I looked around, for somewhere to hide.

No time to be picky, I just had to hide behind that chair!

So~now I'm waiting for whoever, or whatever, is coming to come through the door.

What Was Belos’ End Game?

I’ve just been chatting with @willumity2020 and it just got me thinking as to what Belos expected to happen after the Day of Unity?

Like from what I can tell, the intent of the Day of Unity was to drain witches and demons of magic and based on the projection of the Day of Unity shown to the Coven Leaders, merge the Demon Realm with our realm.

Once that was done though, what did Belos expect to happen?

Like Belos is from the English American colonies during a period of Puritan hysteria when the witch trials took place. In the case of Connecticut Colony, the Hartford Witch Trials.

But then within the time Belos has been on the Boiling Isles, time has progressed. The witch trials are over and a new independent country exists where the former English colonies once were.

Like what was Belos expecting to happen? The Boiling Isles merge with Earth and the United States Government and populace being like, “Witches! Burn them!”

Don’t get me wrong. I’d imagine there’d be some tension if the Day of Unity had gone to plan, but I’m going to guess that tension wouldn’t escalate to the levels that Belos would be hoping for.

Like, I am genuinely curious as to what Belos’ end game really was.

Update to the Relapse AU

In this AU, Caleb drags Philip to a lake for them to relax and have some fun, but they end up falling into the Boiling Isles and meeting Evelyn. Initially, both of the brothers are suspicious and on guard around her, but Caleb starts opening up to Evelyn, and they become friends.

They don’t know quite where there portal back is, so they live together for a little while. Philip is begrudging tolerates Evelyn while they search for a way home. As they spend time together, Caleb and Evelyn start to bond and develop crushes, but the former refuses to move further until Philip is okay with witches to prevent any feelings of betrayal. It takes a lot of effort, but they figure out foods that humans can eat and keep those in stock.

Philip is being the slowest pot to ever boil, but he’s warming up one micro-degree at a time. Then he gets the common mold. I headcanon Philip as the type of child to get the flu every year and almost die each time he gets it. And when Philip gets something his body isn’t used to handling, it goes really badly. Evelyn tends to him while he’s sick due to her resistance to the illness, and Caleb finally locates the portal home. After consultation, the three of them decide that they will wait until Philip is better to go home so nobody gets sick in Gravesfield.

Caleb packs and prepares obsessively, fine tuning a story of how they got lost in the woods and came across a cottage belonging to a woman who rescued them. Evelyn sees that Philip isn’t better and, without talking to Caleb, administers the medicine given to witches and demons that get the Common Mold. In this AU, Hemlock is commonly used in healing potions. Philip gets drastically worse, and Evelyn calls Caleb in.

After a lot of probing about the ingredients, Evelyn tells Caleb everything in the potion, and Caleb sees red. He believes that after all the time they’ve spent in the demon realm and the difficulties they’ve had with finding things they can eat, Evelyn should have NEVER presumed to give anything to Philip without checking with him first. As such, he mischaracterizes her negligence as intentional harm.

This perceived attack on his baby brother has him going back into full witch hunter mode, and he carries Philip to the natural portal and runs back to Gravesfield to get a doctor. He doesn’t realize that he’s carrying a corpse by the time he arrives until the doctor says there’s nothing he can do. With that, Caleb explains the whole story, buries his brother, and sets off to the Boiling Isles to get revenge.

Due to his view that Philip was a victim of witchcraft, he harbors no ill intentions for the situation and refuses to defile his baby brother’s body with witchcraft. Caleb has no such reservations about his own humanity. It’s a quest for vengeance, and he isn’t hiding from that fact.

Over time, he starts manipulating the people he comes across and behaving as he did with Evelyn. This prevents a trail of bodies being led back to him. Caleb has no interest in going back to Gravesfield, instead focusing solely on finding the Collector for access to magic.

He mutilates his body with Wild Magic by replacing parts of his body with various elements of magic—including ingesting Titan’s Blood and surgically implanting a Galderstone inside of himself. This results in a curse of his own, but there are no sentient voices, as he never consumes Palismen. Caleb amasses power and creates a cult by claiming he’s essentially Titan Jesus. The glyphs and Titan’s Blood in his veins are proof, and it gives him a way to explain his unusually long lifespan to the populace.

Meanwhile, he’s fond of the Collector, who reminds him of Philip as a child, and spends a lot more time interacting with him as a form of projection onto them and regression to ease his grief.

Collector (affectionately nicknamed ‘Collie’) begins noticing this and creates an empty shell of Philip’s childhood self, represented as Mindscape Belos. There’s no intelligence behind it, and it’s not even truly sentient, but Caleb latches onto it obsessively, though he doesn’t reveal him to the public.

By this point, Luz is arriving to the Boiling Isles, and Caleb becomes focused on getting her away from witches and demons so she won’t be hurt. As such, he makes a proclamation that all humans found are to be brought to him, and adds another excuse to criminalize Eda (also using Sigils like Belos). This means that Luz and Eda would have to play it very carefully.

There is, of course, lingering resentment towards the Clawthorne sisters do to their relation to Evelyn. He never caught her, so Caleb frequently stresses or torments Lilith as displaced vengeance and makes Eda almost unable to go out in public.

TOH Spoiler for 2x21 King’s Tide. An angsty Dad Darius and Son Hunter imagine.

The vice grip these two have on me.

Hunter shaking a weak and dying Darius, begging him to wake up while he himself has a sigil and was also in the process of dying had me aching.

But then I imagined if the group wasn’t with him. If he just… gave up then and there.

He doesn’t know how long he was shaking Darius for, calling his name and silently pleading in his head. But it’s useless. Darius isn’t going to wake up, and Hunter can feel himself getting weaker. He thinks about all the things he would tell Darius. How grateful he was that someone knew he was a good kid. Someone who recognizes he is a kid and that he shouldn’t have to deal with any of this.

A tear leaves his eye. He’s tired. So very tired.

He and Darius haven’t ever even hugged. But in that moment, Hunter lifts Darius’ arm and crawls under, places it over his chest as he lies down beside Darius and surrenders himself. He can hear Darius’ shallow breaths, as his own grow weaker.

He sleeps. Like a child abandoning his worries and entrusting himself to someone who will protect him.

Darius feels cold. It would be different had they hugged sooner. It would’ve been a warm embrace, had it happened sooner.

Maybe their hugs would be warm in the next life. In the next life, they would hug again and again.

Hunter couldn’t wait.

Does anyone think they actually went through with the sigil thing? Like, look at their face....

Is this gonna be one of those moments where after it’s all over and Luz asked why the plan changed, we’ll have a cutback scene to Raine stopping the branding and coming up with an entirely new plan, possibly involving self-sacrifce (since that’s kinda everybody's thing) but they kept their promise to keep Eda safe?

....And then it all works out, Raine and Eda kiss and talk about their feelings, and everyone gets a therapist, right?

What needs to happen in the owl house season 3 part b

The owl house is entering its third and final season. Season 3 will consist of three 44 minute specials (I think. I heard a rumor that fan outrage forced Disney to lengthen the specials to 55minutes). Season 2 ended with the characters kinda spilt into three groups. Luz and her friends henceforth called "The Hexside gang" are trapped in the human realm. The adult CATTs members are back home on the boiling isles out of one apocalypse and straight into another, and King is trapped as the collectors playmate in what ever "owl house" he has made. I am imagining that each special will follow one of these three groups adventures as they all try to reunite.

Here is what I need to see happen with the CATT’s

First Please let Dana keep her word about not thinking all the bad guys need to be redeemed. Terra Snapdragon, Adrian Gray, Hettie Cuttburn (tweets say she was going to be one of the really evil/cruel ones), Kikimora and Odalia all stay villains

In fact I could see ones like Kikimora and Odalia actually trying to side with whatever is left of Belos, Or the worst of the coven heads to be shown at the shows end, plotting to take Belos place as Emperors/Empresses

I would accept Mason (construction head) defecting to the CATT’s after he Day of Unity. He is still new, having only been a coven leader for a little bit longer than Rain has. That might not be enough time for him to be fully corrupted by the position. Also some early art hints that he is Steve and Matholomule’s father. If that is so he probably went along with the Day of Unity thinking he was creating a better world for his sons. So he has something important in common with the other parents in the CATT’s, and two very good reasons to change/fix his mistakes.

I really, really want to see Steve and Mattholomule again. They do not have to have speaking lines. It can just be for a couple moments during a fight, and welcoming everybody back from the human realm. Same with the twins, I am not ready to say good bye to them.

Lilith with a cool prosthetic foot. We know she doesn’t have a sigil on her writs, but she has to have one. (Belos would have never let the witch who caused permanent damage to the shape of his nose survive his revenge). If its on her back she’s dead from whatever was happening to Eda. Give us some excuse for her to have wanted it on her ankle instead, and in present day she managed to kick her own foot off while tied up.

Have Darius and Alador see each other, give each other looks, but not talk right away. Keep the petty drama going while you can

My new hope for the reveal at whatever happened between them is that ... nothing happened! All the taunts are them being playful, and the only reason they stopped hanging out is that they stopped having any time to.

I still want a sweet reunion.. Also Alador totally thinks Eberwolf has been the one looking out for and taking care of Darius for all their time together as coven heads. Alador says he is very grateful to Eber for taking such a responsibility. Darius is annoyed.

The changes the collector makes to the isles are CRAZY.

I am not sure how the adults will figure out where the kids are. An off comment from the collector? finding broken bits of the portal? Darius being able to rach out to Hunter through penstgram (come on you know he will at least try). But they are determined to bring them back... but they need King (and maybe the collector’s) help to do so so they have to focus on saving King/stopping the collector first.

Have it questioned if Eda has a right to bring Luz back to the demon realm. Right now Luz is in the human realm which is her “real home”, and she is with her real mother. Eda was always going to have to let her go back eventually, right? So maybe it is time to let her go?

Eda decides that weather it is for a couple of minutes or for years to come, she has to see her surrogate daughter one more time. At least so she can be assuredLuz she is safe, and give her a proper good-bye.

I want them to find the remains of the previous golden guards. More specifically I want then to somehow (maybe Lilith as a skilled historian can deduce the age of bones or Eber can use smell or something to determine when a body died) find the remains of Darius’s mentor.

Have Darius say his name (not Caleb or Hunter. I know most of the GW’s were named Hunter, but we have 3 guys who we know where characters in their own right, and had people who were important to them/vis versa. All three 3 deserve distinct names), then recount how much the guard taught Darius when he was younger, and that he deserves better than this end.

Lilith then awkwardly tries to take Darius’s mentor’s mask/staff/whatever. Darius gets mad at her at first. Then she tells him that they can of course bury the bones, but that she wants the armor to create a memorial exhibit at the museum for this guard and the other’s sacrifice when this is all over. Darius agrees.

Something to trigger a memory from Lilith and Eda’s childhood, that they both remember very differently. This causes them to get into an argument, maybe a shouting match. They remember that their childhoods together weren’t nearly as great as they having been recalling/describing throughout the show.

They keep arguing but stop when they conclude that even if things weren’t always great when they were kids, and were down right awful the first half of their adulthood, they both do really love/enjoy the relationship they have now. So the make up and hug.

Darius and Eberwolfs boss forms again, at some point.

Eda and Camila to meet.

A onscreen reunion between Hunter and Darius (and Eberwolf) that everybody is conscious for.

When everything is over Eda is talking to Raine and nervously says something related to them having a life together now. They stop her like “woh woh whoh”. She gets more nervous, but then they say “Your supposed to ask me if I want to get back together first, then ask if I want to marry you/raise a family with you/etc.

Eda asks, Raine pretends to think hard about it before saying yes, Eda (playfully) smacks them on the shoulder.

Folks, I'm getting REAL worried about the gang's plan.

Like, yes, Eda's curse is capable of corrupting whichever spell she's a part of, but it'll be at her expense. The last time she tried this, she almost killed herself in the process.

Not to mention, it might end up killing everyone anyways. Given the fact that it seems to be an area of effect kind of spell (based on what we saw in Eda's Requiem), it'll likely spread to consume everyone present at the day of unity. It could also have broader repercussions on top of that, with the draining spell being in effect - potentially corrupting witches through their sigils.

If Eda goes though with this plan, not only will it potentially kill everyone anyways (possibly including Luz, since she's being brought to Belos), but it will also most likely kill her.

I'm really REALLY hoping they're going to be able to find an alternative, because this seems like the type of plan that can only end badly.
