summary: what better way to end your birthday night than to fuck your boss in his car?
word count: 4.4k words
BONTEN, one of the most dangerous organizations that has ever arisen from Japan and possibly, the world. Led by men born from the era of brutality, Japan had never seen such a business successful with covering the tracks of organized crime as much as BONTEN has.
Despite the brutal murders, torture chambers, human and drug trafficking and even bodies found with teeth missing and finger prints skinned off, the police could never completely trace it back to BONTEN. They knew it would have something to do with such a deadly corporation, but as far as the higher ups and Japan's government were concerned, they were just business men with the usual ethical issues.
Anyone who tries to dig in too deep will face Bonten's hammer of judgment.
It's the life you've grown accustomed to for a while ever since Kokonoi had picked you up from the street.
Poverty made you sell your morals to the devil in the designers before you could regret it; Bonten sponsored your university course in accounting, trained you how to use a gun and taught you how important you were to them. Their best asset, worthy enough to join them as executives and rule Japan with an iron fist.
That is, if you'll ever get promoted to an executive after all the years of waiting.
"When is my flight for Makarti scheduled?"
You break out of your thoughts and raise your head to meet the dark eyes of the man sitting in front of you with his head down, Hajime Kokonoi, the man who took you out of the gutters to become his personal assistant who helped with calculations, estimates and other errands.
"It's supposed to be by twelve," you say, preparing yourself for his complaint as you explain the situation. "But your private jet needs a few maintenance checks before it's ready for your flight, so I had to shift it to two pm."
You waited for him to say anything to berate you for not doing the maintenance checks yesterday like he told you to, but instead he kept his head on the work he was doing and brushed it off. "That's good, I have some meetings to attend to anyways, so I can avoid having extra work when I return. Also, you've gotten my suits from the dry cleaners?"
"Yes sir."
"And you've sent a message to Mochizuki and Kakucho about the change in flight times?"
"Yes sir."
The room falls silent, save for the noise coming from Kokonoi's fingers typing away on his laptop. You tap your feet lightly, waiting for either his next question or for him to dismiss you until he raises his head to look at you with confusion and annoyance written all over his features.
"Yes?" He stops typing to pay complete attention to you. "What are you still doing here?"
"Sorry sir" you immediately stand up from the chair with your bags and scramble for the door in haste, adjusting your dress that had ridden up to your thigh. The last thing you wanted was for him to scold you again with disapproving eyes glaring down on you. Hajime Kokonoi was very hard to please and easy to anger, you could never tell when his switch would flip and you don't like being around whenever it did.
You don't see the way Kokonoi's eyes rest on the curve of your ass strained against the office skirt you had worn today, before looking down your legs as you struggled to open his large office doors.
"Wait."
You stop halfway, leaving the door half-open as you turn to the man sitting some feet away from you. Kokonoi rests his angular jaw on his intertwined fingers before clearing his throat. "I just remembered that you would be joining Manjiro, Haruchiyo and Takeomi for a meeting tonight."
You feel the blood in your veins turn cold as you process Kokonoi's words, your fingers curl around the door handle tighter than before, anchoring you to the ground and keeping you from stumbling at the news. Kokonoi doesn't miss the way your face turns sour at the news he had broken, and frankly, he can't exactly blame you for your reaction. The top three executives are frightening, even more brutal than he himself was, especially when it came to you.
"I'm giving you the rest of the day off to prepare." He goes back to his laptop screen and keeps working on the audit he was doing before. The world of the yakuza cares for no man, and if you despise someone, either you kill them or you stick to them like glue. "Someone will come get you by 7pm so be ready by then. You can go now."
The room goes quiet again. Kokonoi can feel your questioning glare asking him why he would break his promise of not letting those men come near you, again.
"Yes sir."
You stomp out of the room angrily and the door slams shut after you, leaving Kokonoi all by himself to keep doing his work. He had to admit, the head on top of your shoulders wasn't just for decoration, you actually do know how to use it.
You knew better than to ask him questions.
THE noise from the club was deafening the moment you stepped into the place.
Once upon a time, Ran had told you he and his brother used to rule this place with an iron fist, before finding a much smarter way to make everyone submit to them. Now, practically all the clubs littered around Japan, including this one Manjiro Sano had decided to be the venue of the meeting, belong to them in Bonten's name.
Dressed in a sequined two piece cream top and skirt paired with heels, you certainly turned heads with your looks. You could hear whispers of men and women asking about who you were, seeing as you walked up to the V.I.P area with an air of confidence, somewhere only known Bonten members, business partners of Bonten or unlucky women foolish enough to entertain any executive were allowed to enter.
As expected, the guards in charge stopped you in your tracks. You could practically feel the predatory gazes of the men aimed at your choice of clothes, oozing lust, before flickering into disapproval at how you were dressed.
"V.I.Ps only."
His tone was condescending for someone that stares at you like a piece of meat, although it was nothing new to you when it came to the men in Bonten. You don't pay mind to his attitude, instead lifting up your skirt partially to reveal the Bonten tattoo on your inner thigh. You could see his eyes practically entranced by the flesh of your thighs and the panties peeking through the skirt, greedily absorbing the details of every inch of skin as you lowered your skirt down.
You blame Kokonoi for letting you go through with that idea. Flashing people to reveal your tattoo isn't exactly ideal for you.
"Can I go in now?" You say and without waiting for them to finish, you push past them and got into the entrance to the V.I.P lounge.
IF you had a nickel for everytime Kokonoi lied to you about something, you would be extremely wealthy by now.
You could see the collection of wine bottles distributed across the tables, each to every individual's taste. Smoke billowed around the area, mixing with the scent of weed and alcohol. Voluptuous women were strewn on their laps, sides and even at their feet, smiling and pouring drinks, talking loudly or laughing at something they said.
This is not a meeting. This was a private party and you want nothing to do with it.
Haruchiyo, Bonten's number 2, is the first person to notice you awkwardly standing there and staring at the rest of them in horror and shock. His lips break out in a smile aimed at you, calling your (name) loudly and garnering everybody's attention, including Manjiro Sano who looked tired and bored, despite the woman who was sitting on his lap and feeding him. "(Name), the birthday girl is here, come sit down."
'Birthday girl? Does this look like a party I would like to attend? Who planned this?'
You mindlessly walked towards the space Haruchiyo had made between him and Manjiro, and sat there stiffly. You notice Haruchiyo hasn't touched his drinks or drugs at all, as if he was waiting for you to see this madness while he was sober. Electricity runs down your spine as he leaned so close to your ears, lips brushing it lightly to whisper; "So, do you like it? Boss said I could plan it however I wanted since Kokonoi wasn't around and you weren't answering my calls."
So that's why he was calling you.
You wanted to slap yourself across the face. This was a situation you could have avoided.
You glance briefly at Manjiro who was following (or trying to) a conversation the chatty escort he had hired had started. Your gazes meet briefly and you shyly avert your eyes away back to your lap.
Of course it was him that gave Haruchiyo the reins to host this party. Who else could do something like this?
You sigh weakly and turn to Haruchiyo, who was still waiting for your answer with a huge expectant grin on his lips. It wasn't like you could tell him the truth about how this party felt like it was for the men of Bonten and not for you.
"It's um…" you forced a smile at him before you continued lying. "... nice. Thank you sir."
A sigh of relief escapes your lips when his grin widens. You feel his arm drape over your shoulders, drawing you closer to his body. He dips his head into the crook of your neck, hot breath dancing along your body as he whispers in your ear again.
"Anything for you princess."
You sit frozen when he pulls away from you and goes back to the escort he was chatting with as if he didn't just make your heart race. You didn't get to think about it for long when a wine glass is put right in front of your face. Manjiro does not look at you as he shakes the wine glass in your face and you take it from him, trying to ignore the electricity running through your fingertips that brushed his.
"Thank you sir."
"Try to relax." His voice is low enough for only you to hear him speak. Your body grows hotter when he turns his gaze completely on your body, slowly scanning your attire for the evening before focusing on your face again. "We're not punishing you this time."
You nod quickly, making a huge effort to keep the glass in your shaking hands. Being so close to Manjiro Sano and Haruchiyo Akashi proved to be more difficult than it should have been. Was it the fear that had been instilled into you by these men themselves?
Or was it the fact that you were surrounded by the constant reminders of your twisted sexual fantasies?
"A toast, to the birthday girl!" Ran's loud voice brings you out of your thoughts and you absent mindedly raise your glass up into the air. Whatever it is you feel about them doesn't matter, you couldn't afford to get anymore involved with Bonten beyond office contact.
"To life and a fatter ass!"
You don't notice Manjiro watching you as you scowl before faking a laugh and repeating. "To life and a fatter ass."
  "YOU didn't like the party."
You don't say anything in response, with the light hum of the car's engine serving as the only sound in the vehicle and opting to look out of the window instead, watching the cars drive past yours. Of course it's a no-brainer that you absolutely hated everything tonight, hell even your mood has been sour throughout to the point Manjiro Sano noticed and offered to take you home early when you said you were tired.
He sighs after a while, now looking out of his own window to distract himself from the way your skirt rode up to reveal the flesh of your thighs. "I'm sure Haruchiyo tried his best given how he is with you."
Something in you snaps at that moment and you face him with annoyance in your eyes. You were just about done with the way he kept digging the knife deeper into your gut. "I had plans for the evening Mr. Sano." You put it bluntly, not caring if he took offence to your words or just ignored you completely. "I did not ask for anything. I'm beginning to think you do this to make me miserable."
Your frown only deepens when you hear him chuckle quietly before turning around to face you with a curious look written all over his face. Somehow, seeing you upset made you cuter in his eyes; You always looked so vulnerable in times like these, whether you're walking on eggshells around him or outright being ungrateful to him. Maybe it's the alcohol giving you an extra boost to speak your mind, and he'll allow it for now because he wants to hear what you have to say.
It won't go unpunished though.
"What were the plans you had for this evening?"
Manjiro doesn't miss the way your face contorts slightly into an uncomfortable smile. It's not like he didn't know anyways, he had overheard your discussion with his assistant about what you wanted to do about two weeks ago and it was what made him call Haruchiyo to plan the most disastrous party ever to stop you from going ahead with your plan.
"It's nothing, never min-"
"I know you wanted to hook up with some idiot you met, don't play coy with me."
You swallowed hard at his harsh tone, flickering your eyes anywhere but his face. The ridiculous last minute party made sense now that he had ripped the band aid off. Manjiro must have heard of your plans to hook up with someone you had met, since Kokonoi never let you even breathe in peace or left you alone whenever you wanted to do something.
"Today was my only chance and you ruined it." Your voice cracks slightly as you hiss at him. It was frustrating honestly, the one time you had to yourself without Bonten breathing down your neck, they found a way to make you even more miserable. "I have needs too for god's sake! I have a life outside being your lackey-"
"So you were going to let some lowlife stick his dick into you because you can't keep your legs shut."
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me."
You try to reply to him again but no words come to your head. You can only close your mouth and look at your lap; it's unbelievable that he was berating you for wanting some form of intimacy in your life after being so pent up and going through so much shit. "So what do you expect me to do Mr. Sano?" Your voice is bitter but you didn't care any more at this point. "Ask Kokonoi to fuck me? Or should I go to Ran or Haruchiyo? Or …"
A smile makes its way to your face the moment an idea pops into your mind. You raised your head sharply towards him and jabbed a finger into his broad chest to buttress your point. "Or should I ask you to do it? To corrupt and taint me?"
"Stop that"
"Do you want to fuck me, Mr. Sano? Is that why you hate seeing me with those low-lifes? Is that it?"
"Don't start something you know you can't finish, (name)" it's a stern warning and you know Manjiro Sano isn't just being petty as he usually is, he's getting riled up from your constant taunting. "Or else."
But you don't listen to him. Even though you know from past experience that angering your volatile boss could end up with a bullet embedded in your brain, you push yourself closer to his body until you were flush against him, watching him stiffen as you lowered your lips next to his ear and rested your hand on his muscular thigh. It's obvious you're not thinking straight since you've had a couple of drinks and he's trying to keep that in mind, especially when you begin to trace a line towards his crotch area.
"Or else what, Mr. Sano?"
It happened so fast you could barely comprehend how he had you on your back to the seat with his body hovering over yours. Bleach blond bangs frame his face, highlighting the once empty, soulless eyes into darkened gazes full of lust and greed, hot breath hitting your face. A strong pale veiny hand pin your arms above your head, his knees separating your thighs, your jaw in a bruising grip of his other hand.
"S-sir-"
"A bit too late for that." He cuts you short, before turning his head to the driver of the vehicle. "Stop the car, now."
Your heart thuds loudly against your chest as the driver pulls the car into a dark corner hidden from the streetlights, coming to a stop. Manjiro does not ease up his grip, nor does he stop gazing into your soul as he tells the driver to "get out" in less than polite terms. You can hear the door of the car open and close quietly, along with the faint flicker of a lighter as the man walks away from the car.
With the two of you alone, Manjiro doesn't hesitate to crash your lips against each other in a messy kiss. Your boss wins the battle of dominance almost immediately with the sheer force he uses to force your mouth open with his hand so that he could explore your mouth. Your moans are silenced with each bruising kiss from him, his teeth grazing your lips before his tongue swipes over the marked place, engulfing your mouth with his until your lungs burn for air.
Moans of "sir" escaped your lips in sync with every wet kiss he placed on your face and cheek. Manjiro moves his lips from your lips, to your jaw and then settles onto your neck. The feeling of his teeth grazing your neck has you mewling and leaning into his touch. His hand leaves your jaw and quickly makes its way to your skirt, hiking it up a bit to reveal your panties and the Bonten tattoo on the plush of your inner thigh.
Manjiro pulls away from your neck and you let out an annoyed whine, already craving for his mouth on your neck again. His eyes sizes up the lace panties you had worn, a wet patch forming on it and he begins to trace a finger up and down your slit, teasing you through your panties. You let out a soft "hngh" from your lips as he moves to your clothed clit, rubbing tight circles, sending waves of electricity all over your lower region.
"Don't think 'i'm going easy on you." He mutters whilst pushing your soaked panties aside to reveal your bare cunt. A soft whine escapes your lips as two of his fingers start entering into your tight pussy, forcing its way into your walls until you accommodate the intrusion. "As soon as I'm done stretching out this cunt, I'm going to ruin you for anyone else."
You don't get to reply as his fingers begin to move at a pace that has your body trembling.
His fingers curled into you, pumping them in and out of your pussy. A loud moan escapes your lips when his fingers brush that spot, making your eyes roll back and pussy pulse around his fingers. "You like that?" He whispers close to your neck, biting and sucking marks into your skin, not letting up his rough finger fucking, curling his fingers even the more that has your legs shaking and the coil in your belly tightening. "Of course you do. You like it so much, look at how you're clenching on my fingers like a needy slut." His tone is mocking and yet, it only seemed to add fire to the flame.
Your body spasms in his hold, breathing fast as a violent orgasm rips through you until it becomes a dull throbbing and your head hangs while trying to catch your breath. Manjiro pulls away from your cunt and kneels upright. You peek through your lashes, watching him impatiently unbuckle his belt with one hand and toss it aside on the floor, followed by him working down the zipper and buttons of his pants, tugging it to his knees along with his boxers to reveal his thick, veiny cock springs free of its confines, drops of pre leaking from it.
He takes his dick in his free hand and smears the tip with pre before lining it up with your hole. A quiet groan escapes your lips as he rubs his length against your glistening pussy gathering all the slick, your heavy breathing matching his own. His grip on your hands above your head tightens, keeping you in place as he positions his tip in front of your entrance.
The pain when he pushes his tip into you is almost unbearable.
Your eyes snapped shut in response and you bit your lip to keep yourself from screaming as he slowly inched into you. "It'll be much easier for the both of us if you relax." He hisses at you, before reaching for your clit and circling it gently, trying to distract you from the pain. "Breathe, relax."
His words were like a mantra and you found yourself taking in a deep breath and letting it out, trying your hardest to relax. Slowly, the pain from being stretched out gave way to feeling so full for the first time until he was buried at the hilt. A groan escapes Manjiro's lips; the feeling of your velvety walls around his hard cock was divine and if he didn't have any ounce of self control he would have cum immediately. His hips experimental rolls against yours and the loud "Manjiro" you let out had his brain short circuiting.
Everything is a blur after that.
His pace is fast, angling himself to your g-spot and abusing it, the whole car shaking with the power of his thrusts. His finger plays with your clit, despite you screaming "too much sir, too much!" in between moans and trying to squirm away from his brutal ministrations.
"Don't run away now, (name), I'm just doing what you want. Look at how well you're doing for a virgin." He says in between pants, thrusting into you even faster. He doesn't miss the whimper escaping your lips as his tip abuses your g-spot repeatedly- in fact it only encourages him to keep up the pace. "You're so obedient, I like this version of you. Might make you my personal slut- shit-"
His balls tighten at the feeling of your cunt fluttering around him at that sentence. Seeing him staring down at you condescendingly as he fucks into you hard is shamefully arousing, and your mouth can't help letting out loud moans of pleasure when his fat tip prods against your cunt.
The noises of skin slapping skin from the intensity of his thrusts in the car is obscene and noisy, you're sure the guard standing outside is well aware of what is going on.
He lets go of your clit briefly to put your leg on his broad shoulder, bringing you even closer to him and presses a hot, messy kiss on your lips, his tongue playing with yours again. You answer his kiss with another weak moan, the coil in your belly tighten once again with the urge to snap.
"Pathetic virgin" he laughs against your lips and moves his head to the crook of your neck. His grip tightens on your hand as he holds your trembling body in place. "I would have mistakened you for a slut if you weren't so fucking tight." His hips stutter, before regaining his pace again. He spits out darkly; "Since you're so cock hungry, maybe you should be our personal slut, huh? Bonten's cumrag?"
Maybe it's the alcohol coupled with the intense feeling of pleasure that has your mind completely dumb for him. Maybe it's because he's the one in control of everything as he rolls his hips into you, bringing you closer and closer to edge, his dark eyes clouded with lust and greed peering into yours that had you saying "yes, yes yes yes-" until your second orgasm washes over you, more intensely than the first and knocks you out completely soon after.
He falls over the edge too, pumping loads and loads of cum into you as he bucks into you with a few more thrusts, more than anything he's produced before until he's spent completely. He pulls himself away from your cunt immediately and sits on his heels, dark eyes watching cum leak out of your abused hole and pool down your cunt with interest. Manjiro's eyes flicker up to your face and realize you have passed out.
'It must have been too intense for you, huh.'
He releases your hands above your head, taking note of the finger shaped bruises warpped all over your wrists like a a bracelet and reaches for your bag to take out your wipes. He cleans the cum and specks of blood outside your cunt and tries to dab off the stain on the chair as well before tugging your skirt down and adjusting his pants. Wounding down the window of the car, Manjiro signs the driver outside to come in and he obeys immediately, putting out his cigarette on the concrete wall.
A sigh escapes his lips, in sync with the car engine revving up again. Manjiro's eyes flicker down to your sleeping figure that he's maneuvered to his lap and trails his gaze down to the marks littered all over your jaw and neck. Deft fingers circle around the swelling skin, still lost in thought about how pretty you look with his markings until he gets a rather risky idea.
For you, not for him though.
Manjiro reaches for his phone and angles his camera right onto your sleeping face, taking a picture of you all marked up and pressing the share button. Kokonoi's contact pops up on the screen and he starts to type something before pressing the send button and tossing the phone aside.
"Take us to my house. She'll sleep with me tonight."

justin and hailey biebers' composite chart houses
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
7th house: in the composite chart, the composite 7th house governs how you are as a couple, how much you’re focused on the relationship, how you move together as one, and the other people that you interact with together.
gemini 7th house : with the composite 7th house in gemini, you may be a pairing that interacts with others with logic and intellect, analyzing people’s behaviors and reasoning. you can be intellectually stimulating for other people, and may do a lot of analyzing of your own relationship too. it may be difficult for you to see together when you’re being scattered and unfocused, but you may be around others who are.
7th house ruler in 2nd house: meeting: likely to meet in a hedonistic or indulgent sort of place. the mall, the spa, restaurants. can meet an a luxurious or upscale place. meeting in a way where you exchange money or goods. meeting at the bank or a financial related place. person: the kind of person who is sensuous, indulgent or materialistic. someone who is wealthy or has money. someone who is grounded, loyal, possessive, supportive. someone “taurean” or “venusian” in nature. relationship: a relationship involving material exchange. someone who supports you financially. a person who give you gifts and sustains your basic needs. having assets together. being indulgent together. through this relationship you create and experience stability.
lilith in 7th: you bring rebellious and intense energy to this relationship. your need for freedom and independence is so great that you may enjoy a long-distance relationship with each other. even as a couple, you both follow your own passions and pursue your own interests. you’re connected around a shared appreciation for each other’s power, creativity and unique traits. yet you are also both easily able to give each other the space you both need. you may become rebellious or resentful if either partner tries to be too smothering or controlling. you may help each other express your ideas and passions openly without judgment of each other’s unique vision and desires.
8th house: in the composite chart, the composite 8th house shows how we use what we have together and share with one another. this house also governs intimacy and sex, so it can also show how we connect on a physical level in romantic partnerships (in a way that may be different from individually in the natal chart).
cancer 8th house : with the composite 8th house in cancer, you may use the resources you have together to create a solid foundation for your relationship and lives together, and to build solid emotional security. you may focus your resources more on your families, and think more about your legacies. you each may bring something important into the pairing from your families. in a romantic relationship, physical intimacy may need to come after emotional intimacy.
8th house ruler in 8th house: you often desire death in your commitment to be blunt. you want every moment to feel heavy, to feel overwhelming, authentic to the bone. as a rule you never get attached until you know it’s the one, you’ve always weeded out the weak and we’re a serial dater-looking for the right match. these natives view commitment as something intense, a holy cleanse. to them giving our heart and soul to someone is one thing but giving them that private aspect, that what is hidden is earned not “given.” years after they commit they’ll still seem like a mystery and they never ever dive in all at once only in pieces and fragments. these natives can often shy away their lovers with their extremes but they’ll likely adore the intense yet prolific passion that exist in every moment. they are intensely possessive and protective once committed not wanting anyone or anything to share in the love they have for you! for them it’s all or nothing, life or death as every cell rushes. sex for them once a commitment is made is all about meeting god and the devil in the same setting.
moon in 8th house: with the composite moon in the 8th house, this can make the emotions of the relationship run much deeper. you may feel like you each bring out the deepest, darkest emotions and issues you have, and it can cause the relationship to feel unsettling and cause more emotional extremes. there is great potential for the relationship to help each of you grow and transform, but you have to deal with the stuff the relationship dredges up for you. this can be a very serious relationship, no matter how casual you want it to be. with the 8th house ruling shared resources and other people’s money, this can be an easier position for a professional relationship.
9th house: in the composite chart, the composite 9th house can show how we expand, explore, and experience life together. The composite 9th house can show how we share our wisdom as a pairing with the world, and how we find meaning.
leo 9th house: with the composite 9th house in leo, you may enjoy expanding and exploring together, and this can be a hobby together. you can travel for fun, learn for fun, and teach for fun together. if you have children together, you can focus on imparting as much wisdom as you can to them. you may want to expand or explore in ways that will be a little splashy or that can get you attention together.
9th house ruler in the 2nd house: great placement for finances except it comes with hard work and stress. you tend to stress over finances and family, even if you have enough you may think it's not. you may feel animosity or harsh feelings from family or have resentment towards them due to some things that happen in your child's if afflicted. you are great at self learning and may even teach others around you, especially co workers. you may have religious and or spiritual conflicts within family over beliefs, faith and morals. religion and spirituality may have a great influence in your family. you may live with your grandparents when young. may have traveled or changed locations when young. people may be jealous over your self taught skills and even family. father may help out financially over bestow their inheritance on you, you could gain well sufficient due to inheritance from family. family may be lucky for you or you can help them out financially if unafflicted. it could be possible that after your birth family started earning a fortune or things got better for them. you may wear spiritual or religious symbols /significations. you may learn a lot from the wisdom of your family, or look up to someone in your family. you could be home taught. you may study subjects like culinary related, finance, banking in higher education. you can do part time higher education with a job. you can earn from religion, spirituality, and occult. you can earn from traveling, languages and foreigners. can work in a multinational company or with foreign entities. there may be animosity with people over wealth. you could stress over education expenses. you may be skeptical of your upbringing. your faith may affect your family life and work life. you could be money minded. competition over family wealth. self disciplined and wise, self righteous. could feel morally, religiously, spiritually superior. religion and spirituality may affect self esteem. father, education type may affect self esteem, opinion of teachers, authority figures, grandparents, gurus may impact your self esteem. you could get argumentative and protective over your beliefs, there could be unwillingness to accept others view if afflicted.
pholus in 9th house: you are both drawn to each other because of shared vision yet your sense of purpose and mission is likely to face major disruptions. you are both likely to find a balance between focusing on small details and the bigger picture at the same time. you can sense each other’s purpose and mission yet may also have to help each other find clarity in the midst of unprecedented changes. this relationship can be a source of hope and insight as you both face major disruptions. unprecedented changes can interfere with your higher education or interrupt your spiritual beliefs or morals, yet you both help each other to work through confusion and dramatic changes that initially made you both feel unsettled.

it is very concerning how that the general public forgets that the argument on "abortion" and "reproductive rights" isn't isolated to the topic of "baby in the womb doing stuff".
The whole encompassing topic of body autonomy doesn't start or end at "womb" or "fetus". Those are the buzzwords that republicans love to throw around to simplify the morbid truth of this weird control train. It's what republicans prop up like a cardboard placeholder for the submerged iceberg of everything that they want to control on the topic of body and reproduction autonomy.
And this goes for men too. I know my boys like to pretend that they republicans have no interest in the peepee gun. But the republicans also think condoms and male birth control are the devils work, because dem bois are still killing babies. So when they get done with the ladies, they'll be looking at us all.
Which ties to my next point, aside from birth control measures being removed because it 'kills babies'. The whole topic is a mess because republicans idea of saving babies is for women to get married ASAP and start having babies. Messy. Topic. Bat. Shit. Insanity.
What is more batshit insane than gutting production of birth control and contraceptives, is the general focus on anything to do with the uterus or the ovarian things. Because this is the massive, whole encompassing issue here. In red states, it is difficult if not impossible to get sterilization surgery, regardless the reason. Women and people with uteruses struggle to get healthcare in red states, when their biology connected to the uterus fucks up. Even if the procedure is something that will benefit their quality of life, such as the case of Menorrhagia, Endocrine, Ovarian cysts, and various other illnesses that incapacitate or cause general disruption in health in those with a uterus. Some chemical birth controls help with managing these disorders, but sometimes that isn't enough. Some people go for a hysterectomy, but that all depends. But all of this medical hippa and body autonomy is infringed upon by republicans and red states, under the guise of "Saving babies".
These republicans put the quality and safety of a damn organ, above the person mental and physical health. It's bizarre. It's sick. People with uteruses lose full jurisdiction to their body, because by religious and state ordinance, the body is not their own property. Not fully. The uteruses may not be full of oil, but the republicans sure as hell want to stake a claim in it.
The topic is not a clear cut of black and white, regardless how simple the republican smooth brain schemes tries to posture it. It's dehumanizing and frankly, dystopian. Topics of health and wellness should be governed by no more than two people - the doctor, and the person seeking medical assistance for their body. Governors, Supreme Court, House Representatives - none of those people in those districts have a place in body autonomy regarding a singular organ. They HR, SC, Congress, whoever - they can have discussions of healthcare and affordability and the insurance coverage (which is a fuking nightmare). But when it comes to procedures that people seek to amend personal health issues, they cannot be governed by anyone not privvy to that information.
But that's just a reminder to anyone who thinks "abortion has nothing to do with me because I cannot get preggos". You miss the point it wasn't about babies or pregnancy or protecting/saving anyone. It was about controlling body health and emotional welfare.
You go to the doctors one day because you have heavy bleeding, and you get the results back from tests letting you know "there's a large tumor on your fallopian tube and it needs to be removed." It's not a simple case of scheduling the procedure, even if you have the assets to get this done and insurance that can cover it. Because there's suddenly the possibility you're actually involved in a nefarious plan to kill a baby, and everything about this procedure must be approved by your very red state, just to be sure you're not a heathen. Insurance might not even have jurisdiction to cover it, since this is happening in a red state.
But that's the gist of reproduction rights and body autonomy. It's never been about babies or saving unborn children.

Thought about Candela chapter 2, and what's mentioned in the Quick start guide (this got a bit longer than I intended, and spoilers, obviously
Well, one, Spencer killed off two named EONS NPCs, which, bold move, but definitely makes it clear that what was canon to his game doesn't have to be canon to your game.
On that note, the 4th Pharos.
Under 'Key Assets' for the organisation Candela Obscura in the QSG, the 4th Pharos is described as such
'A vault located within the Flare that houses phenomena to keep them from corrupting the world with bleed.'
Which is true to what Spencer showed us. Spencer showed a dark fucking take on it, but it's not inaccurate.
I will now share what the QSG has to say about Greyslate Sanatorium.
'The asylum located in the Sidle. It's often used to hide away civilians and agents who were subjected to too much bleed. The OUP frequently uses the slang 'going grey' in reference to this facility and the effects of bleed.'
If you don't know (because this didn't really come up in chapter 2) the OUP stands for 'Office of Unexplained Phenomena', and they're a government group, attached to the police force (the Periphery) that mostly covers up bleed incidents.
If we look at what Spencer showed us with the 4th Pharos, and what's written about Greyslate, the two organisations seem to have the same idea of dealing with people exposed to too much bleed. Lock 'em up and throw away the key, forget about them, they're too far gone.
I'm now going to bring up the third faction in all of this, EONS.
Now, EONS does have its own version of the 4th Pharos; the Devil's Well.
'Located under the Glass Sea, this was an attempt by EONS to create a vault styled after the 4th Pharos.'
Now, whether the Devil's Well also holds a prison of the damned is up to the GM. However, EONS is the only group that seems to be trying to find a way to help people infected with too much bleed, with Adjuvant.
"An experimental antidote for bleed, or rather, an attempt to stop the 'negative human reaction to the natural phenomena of bleed'"
They are the only group of the three factions here to have this kind of resource. While EONS is generally not good, I just find it interesting that they're the ones actually trying to reverse the effects of bleed in people. Not OUP, who are probably too bound by bureaucracy and a corrupt system to try. And not Candela, which has been around since before Oldfaire fell, and is probably the foremost authority of bleed and its effects, but they aren't doing anything either.
My two thoughts on that are; Candela knows something EONS doesn't. Or, Candela tried, failed, and is arrogant enough to think that because they tried and failed, there is no way of doing it.
Anyway, this whole thing is likely very intentional on the part of the game designers and world builders. It's not interesting to have one shiny, good organisation you work for, and the rival being entirely evil.
Though of course, in the end, it's all up to how you want to play it. If you don't want the 4th Pharos to be a prison for the damned, fine. In your game, it doesn't have to be. In the same way Avery Choi and Violet Boucher can be alive in your games. It's all part of the fun.
It's just this comparison just wouldn't leave me alone!

Politics?? In My Chainsaw Man?
I can’t sleep, so we’re doing a sleep-deprived political reading of chainsaw man part 1, Spoilers inbound.
Alright, the simplest reading of chainsaw mans political messaging is about the meaning of labour and worker abuse.
It's about how Japanese society directly breaks people in the way they are treated and expected to work. The phrasing of "contracts" being made with powerful devils seems pretty deliberate. Especially in the way that the literal bosses of every organization are either literal devils (Makima) Or will do things just as bad. The theme of, "You have to be crazy to work here" is one phrase that's shown and expanded upon with each of the characters. The problem is that “here” means everywhere. You have to be crazy to work, period.
Denji
Denji enters the story missing parts of his body and living in poverty. Eating cigarettes because it’ll get him cash. Unable to ask for a happy life because he’s barely even living one. In a conventional story, Denji would rise to higher ranks to make more money or suddenly come into massive wealth, but that isn’t what happens.
Pochita is seen as an asset, something to use for just his value and nothing more until he meets Denji.
Something special about Denji nobody really talks about is that he never dreams of labour, he only ever dreams about living a normal life, never the means to which he’ll get it.
Tumblr media
He simply does what he can to survive. When Pochita brings Denji back to life he doesn’t tell him to get to work or to put his powers to use. A key difference between the contract Denji and Pochita make is that it’s not an exchange. Nothing is lost the same way other devil hunters make contracts. He leaves all of it up to Denji and simply asks to see his dreams. He only ever wants Denji to keep on dreaming.
So he does.
Until Makima comes in, at least. See, there's also the very subtle subtext about how Makima literally controls the uneducated worker with promises that can never really go anywhere.
Taking control of his desire and motivations to make him a better worker or, as she phrases it, “dog” (Check out my writeup about Denji and Boobs for a little more about that.)
Tumblr media
The System
Most characters who play directly into the system or accept it end up dying pretty horrible deaths that can be blamed on someone above their level. Makima is untouchable because she can move any damage to her onto the average citizen. It’s a method of avoiding responsibility. Governments try and create a tax on shitty practices? The company still does it and just raises prices on people to compensate. Wanna raise the minimum wage? Hope you enjoy an unnecessary price increase on your coffee because some dickhead can always offshore the cost to the average person.
Aki and Power both end up playing into the system and suffer for it. Makima gives the trio a healthy situation and living space and promotes the idea of a family that the system can ultimately take away at any time if you aren't working the way she wants. It almost seems to mimic how the current Japanese obsession with work is almost entirely responsible for the low birth rates because these big companies and governments are the only ones who can give you the chance to start a proper family. They’ll never give that because the culture is so backbent in their favour in the obsession with work.
Also, Denji sings about unions once, which quite literally is the process of workers coming together to use their power to benefit and control their future.
Tumblr media
But what’s the point? What’s the point of Makima’s fascism? The point of Leftist Denji and everything.
Well, the answer is in cinema.
Tumblr media
Makima mentions that in her perfect world, there are no bad movies. Denji rejects this. Denji knows that the world isn’t that cut and dry and that people will find love and value in different ways. Makima is an agent of modernity. The ideology of “everything has a purpose.” In Makima’s perfect world, there are no weak people, there is no suffering, and there are no weak humans, there is no Denji. There are no bad movies.
Makima is every producer, she’s every studio note and screen test. She’s not on the side of art or humanity, she’s on the side of whatever the system deems correct.
Denji doesn’t give a shit. He isn’t the post-modern hero that needs to understand and question the system. He’s honestly maybe even past that point. I’m 100% certain he doesn’t have an answer to fixing the world, but he knows Makima isn’t it. So Denji breaks free and does what he wants to. He decides to go to school to learn. (Realistically, he is not paying attention in classes, but you learn more than just the curriculum at school)  He decides that his life is gonna have all kinds of movies, and nobody’s gonna decide how he makes his.
Denji is a high schooler shooting films on his phone, and he’s better for it.

AAHHH!!! I *finally* got to play a little more Phantom Liberty today öahjsdföasklfasfhdfs
First I wanted to riot slightly cause GoG didn't find my install anymore (but rescanning folders did the trick).
Man OH MAN. I'm really just rambling about how fucking cool this game is below the cut, but beware of spoilers!!
Tumblr media
"How the fuck do I keep ending up in these situations..."
I played all the way up to meeting Reed and agreeing to work with him back in the President's hideout. This was also the point up until I'd seen the gameplay at Phantom Liberty Tour back in August, but I also saw a loooot of new stuff o.o The demo back then started at entering the Stadium (when V walks through that area with cyberarms hanging from the ceiling) - stopped at meeting Myers in the crashed plane - continued at arriving at the hideout with her and then ended, as I said, with shaking hands with Reed.
SO. The whole "how do we get the president to the hideout" sequence was completely new to me AND MAAAN. That Chimera fight was so good like?? The whole setup and everything, I didn't expect such a big and epic boss fight so early on in the expansion at all, really sets the tone I guess xD First V gets his face bashed in by the President, then gets his ribs broken by this thing, things can only get better from here on. That whole section gave me such Bioshock vibes actually like... the Art Deco architecture the "amazing city that turned out so awful" vibes, it's impeccable, and I love it so so much. Really gotta take some time to properly explore everything (and now I gotta wait for Reed to call me back so, best opportunity).
Tumblr media
I saw that thing under the tarp and was like "oh yeah, later on in the story this is gonna come back to bite me in the ass" - only that in this case "later" was "five minutes later" not "10 story missions later" as I anticipated XD
Also, I gotta say, I really don't trust Myers or Songbird much at this point with their intentions. I mentioned this previously... how convenient for Songbird to know to contact V via the Relic, but how the hell did she know about it in the first place, that he had it, where he was at, etc.? And then, in the Space Force One Wreck there was the shard with the answer! They knew about the Konpeki heist and two involved mercs through an informant potentially working at Arasaka. Yet, when I then deliberately chose a dialogue later on where V was like "yeah, I got Arasaka's Relic stuck in my head" Myers was all "oh, what really! how peculiar!". And maybe she really didn't know and I'm reading too much into it, but I'm really not liking her vibes atm at all XD (as a character though she's so cool, not at all how I'd picture a typical NUSA president, and I get the impression she doesn't really like the role all that much - I wanna read up on her background lore as soon as I'm done playing XD). AND. The shard on the plane specifically mentions Johnny on the Relic AND I'M CALLING IT NOW like I called it before, I BET they're really after Johnny's engram to do some experimenting with it for some fucked up Militech scheme. And in return V gets to live or some crap. URGH. I hope I'm wrong but I said it before "Phantom Liberty" (if you read it as in "a ghost that was freed" or "no real freedom") screams to me that this all boils down to something happening to Johnny in a messed up way in the end in exchange for V's life. Analogue to the Devil ending, but instead of Arasaka you have Militech/NUSA (if I'm wrong, please don't spoiler it to me, and if I'm right or close, please don't spoiler it either XD I wanna see just how far off I am myself XDD)
Songbird being MIA is hmmm... Not quite suspicious, but I'm wondering if she is still alive or maybe also doomed to be a construct now, but I'm really not sure. It would be kinda disappointing, I'd like to meet her in person still and am excited to see what she is gaining in all of this. I like the tragic "gifted criminal kid turned government asset" trope a lot and I'm curious to see how her story develops.
Tumblr media
I'm also loving all the lifepath specific dialogues so much, I'm actually learning something new now and then about what Vince's Arasaka job was actually truly like at the core!
Tumblr media
Also Myers roasting him for not having had a high enough security clearance to know about Reed xDD So rude! But I'm so so so curious how Ex-Arasaka agent with occasional homesickness to the corporate world and FIA-Sleeper agent with a big Arasaka-grudge are gonna work together o.o
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like, they're either really gonna see eye-to-eye very much or will continue to clash over and over and V is gonna come out as the loser at the end of this xD But currently, me as the player I'm trusting no one, and Vince as being caught up in all of this tries to play nice and be on everyone's good side but behind the scenes does not trust any of them one bit either xD It's really more a one hand washes the other kinda deal for him with no long-term obligations.
Tumblr media
I'm also LOVING Johnny in all of this so far like... Vince and he don't get along that well most of the time for a variety of reasons. And so far, even though I got the Sun ending as my canon (as of right now), I feel like Vince acted more out of desperation than real trust or anything in going down that path and not any other. So I think Phantom Liberty *might* be the storyline that has been missing for me personally so far to really legitimize to myself that Vince would trust Johnny enough to let him take over his body for that last mission or go on a suicide run through Arasaka Tower with him. They are really seeing eye to eye on a lot of the stuff that's going on, both paranoid and suspicious, both not liking to swear any oaths or work for the FIA or anything like that. Bonding over their shared dislike for all the secrecy and scheming xD
Speaking of timelines, I found an ingame date for the 16th of June about an meeting Myers was to attend and another meeting scheduled for June 18th - sounding like the 16th is already passed at this point and the plane crash probably happening on the 16th or 17th or something like this... which completely throws my previously established timeline overboard :D But also stretches the canonical timeline a bit, if my assumptions are right, which would be nice and a lot more realistic than "like, a month, for all of that to happen". (For reference, in my timeline for Vince without PL I put the last quest on June 9th).
But that's only speculation ofc!
Tumblr media
Then I also had my first vehicle gig for Muamar and omggg I loved this little convo with him so fucking much?? Like, this really built up his character so nicely, and the whole car stealing scheme would also be super down Vince's alley XD
And this exchange I LOVED sm:
Tumblr media
Vince, car nerd surpreme, offering to fix the Cap's car, and Muamar's response: certain things I don't do halfway -> my clothes, my cut, my cars. Vince 100% seconds that sentiment XDD Like, so far I have to admit Muamar never really grabbed me that much as a character and I felt like he and Vince probably didn't have much in common. I was wrong XD
I also wanted to pay Mr. Hands a visit in his funky pyramid, but he wouldn't let me in yet. I'm so looking foward to finally playing his gigs now :D And seeing what else Dogtown has to offer in terms of stories and side jobs :o
Others mentioned it already, but I'm loving this place's design so so much... it feels like a different city altogether, the style of the buildings and everything is so unique and it's such a biiiig sprawling place o.o
And a random little thing I noticed, there's a lot of little cinematic moments now (the contextual removal of the HUD for conversations for example is such a good new feature). And occasionally the camera will automatically pan to interesting events or V's optics zoom in automatically - it was a bit weird the first time it happened but I really like it in a way? I noticed it during the part of rescuing Myers where you had to sneak past the huge Barghest drone (also such a good good moment, I'm loving all the stealth, parkour, and whatnot, the level design is *so good* hhhhh).
And finally, when I decided "okay, I'm gonna go to bed now" and was just about to close the game... I got a text message from Kerry I didn't know yet :DDD
Tumblr media
(the fucking emojis with noses, Kerry pls, your age is really showing)
Like... I did not expect new texts from the LIs, and yeah, this got me really excited xD (and yeh I obviously had to read all the different outcomes and there *are* some differences depending on what you text back. I love it sm). AND. Then I called him. And there's new conversations about the events of PL too??? Hello?
Man I wish there was something like that for the other missions but obviously, with how late-game Kerry's romance is that sadly doesn't make much sense. So this is also something that made me tremendously happy (and also adds some new depth and bits and pieces to Kerry's character, which I'm always so here for XD). Exicted to see if there's more to talk about with him as the expansion progresses - I doubt it, but I'm ready to be surprised, maybe also by the other main NPCs that you're not in a relationship with.
Tumblr media
That one V will definitely bear in mind for whatever is to come. Hhhhh I'm so excited!!

In an age of darkness, glimpses of light are rare — but all the brighter for it. As the censorious progressivism embraced by Joe Biden and much of his Democratic party grows into an increasingly pervasive quasi-religion, ordinary people are finding ways to push back. Like democratic Leftists in the Cold War, old-style liberals are becoming a key force in challenging today’s new orthodoxies.
And this rising tide of liberal apostasy, coupled with a growing pushback from grassroots businesses and consumers, represents a far more profound challenge to the established order than the one routinely mounted by conservatives. In the Renaissance, the impetus for change did not come from Jews, Muslims, devil-worshippers or pagans, but devout Christians such as Erasmus, Luther and Calvin.
In our era, the most powerful critics of progressive theology once again tilt to the Left: Andrew Sullivan, Matt Taibbi, Ruy Teixeira, to name but three. Their apostasy rises to uphold the basic principles once central to liberalism — equality of opportunity, free speech, and open inquiry. This battle is also reminiscent of the struggle waged by the Renaissance critics of the all-powerful Catholic Church. Today, it’s not bishops or popes who seek control, but the oligarchs and their media platforms which, with the sometimes exception of Twitter, favour a censorship regime that brands dissidents largely as purveyors of “misinformation”.
Like earlier apostates, religious or scientific, ours face an uphill struggle. They must contend with forces within the C-suite and, particularly, academia, where even the sciences are now constrained by ideological edicts. This is where the money flows, often to a host of non-profits, some secretly funded, that spread the gospels of censorship, police reduction, indoctrination in schools and an apocalyptic environmental agenda. One problem the apostates face is therefore an obvious one: despite often impressive media resumes, their research rarely makes it into the mainstream, their voices being carried no further than Twitter, Substack and the more broad-minded corners of the media.
This pushback comes at a propitious time, extending beyond a few dissident intellectuals to the grassroots and business moguls such as Elon Musk, Ken Griffin and Bernie Marcus. The latter, in particular, understand that the new progressive orthodoxy undermines the entire system by embracing anti-capitalist memes and reducing the role of merit in a system built around it. And so a critical front has been the rebellion against ESG (environmental, social, governance) standards. Many US states have moved to take their pension funds out of firms that embrace this ideology; some investment houses, notably Vanguard and upstart Thrive Asset Management, are eschewing corporate policies that stress climate change and other issues over fiduciary obligation to investors.. The fact that returns to ESG firms have been poor, when compared with those tied to fossil fuels and basic industries, could presage a further awakening among financial and business leaders that the balance sheet, rather than ideological back-slapping, constitutes the primary mission of business.
More important still, apostasy is also rising among the general population. The pressure for reparations, for example, is opposed by upwards of two-thirds of Americans. All major ethnic groups, notes Pew, reject race quotas, including African-Americans; overall, almost three in four oppose this, as do a majority of both Democrats and Republicans.
In the race debate, the role of black apostates is particularly critical. As John McWhorter has long argued, preferential policies encourage “therapeutic alienation” among black people and other minorities — leading some to adopt a mentality of “anger and scapegoating”, instead of doing “the work needed for success”. In the bizarre world of modern progressivism, any opposition to this agenda is “racist”, even if it comes from people who support equal rights and access to opportunity. Critics of race-based discrimination such as McWhorter and Glenn Loury are far from Klansmen incarnate.
Similarly, assaults on European culture have proven unlikely to win over the masses in these countries, the bulk of whom still express some pride in their heritage. The notion that Western societies are eternally oppressive and racist seems a bit of a stretch given that millions of Africans, Middle Easterners, and south Asians continue to flock to these countries, largely to experience higher levels of economic and cultural freedom. The progressive assault on heritage also is likely to stir up far-Right sentiment, as we can see in France, Denmark, and, perhaps most dangerously, Germany.
The ever-more edgy cultural agenda of the Left, particularly its obsession with transgenderism, provides additional fuel for apostasy. People generally believe in the existence of two genders, and are hostile to efforts to impose either sexual or explicitly political curricula on young people. The idea of parental rights, for example — making sure parents are informed if their child decides to transition — has broad support, including nearly four-fifths of Californians, reflecting what appear to be national trends. In defiance of the transgender advocacy from the White House down, the opposition to sporting categories based on gender, rather than sex, has actually grown over the last two years, with even more Democrats now opposed to the practice than in favour.
Critically — and, no doubt, shocking for some — many opposing the progressive agenda are themselves minorities. In Britain and Europe, for example, Muslims tend to be more religious and socially conservative than whites, and Indians, particularly Hindus, have been drifting Right-wards for a generation. In America, surveys show that foreign-born Americans are also more culturally conservative than the native-born.
Perhaps the most economically significant apostasy relates to climate-change policy. Despite growing moves to censor contrary opinions, here the liberal apostates are not classic deniers or oil company executives, but respected scientists such as former Obama advisor Steve Koonin, and climate scientists Roger Pielke and Judith Curry. Even some environmentalists — including Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore — openly denounce “Net Zero” and “de-growth” policies as both impractical and deeply flawed. They recognise that these policies are already leading to the immiseration of poorer people, particularly in California and Germany. They are not calling for an end to climate change mitigation, but for policies that are more realistic and less economically damaging for the working and middle classes.
And then there are grassroots protests at European governments’ attempts to impose emission reductions on farmers and ban chemical fertilisers — regulatory moves at a time when food prices are rising throughout the West. Efforts to reduce agricultural output, now being suggested in the United States and Canada, also could have dire consequences for billions in the developing world. It’s hardly surprising, then, that there is growing scepticism about climate policies globally; in surveys, it barely registers as a priority for people either in Africa or the US where, according to Gallup, climate is stated as a primary concern for barely 2% of the population.
Other troubles, notably the loss of industry amid soaring energy costs, are already creating a popular backlash, which has been a boon for the far-Right in Germany and Italy, among others. Some centrist regimes have taken fright, with France’s Emmanuel Macron stepping back from climate extremism. Less than a year ago, Germany signed an EU target to ban the sale of cars with internal combustion engines by 2035, but quickly backtracked.
Overall, for all the talk of ideological polarisation, public opinion may well be tilting more towards the apostates than those of the progressive zealots. Despite the media profile of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow “Squad” members, the majority of Democrat members consider themselves moderate or conservative, while barely one in four sees themselves as “very liberal”.
Of course, even with public support, supporters of traditional liberal values face a number of challenges when it comes to enacting meaningful political change. But there is some good news. Many companies are now rethinking their marketing strategies in the face of negative consumer reaction. There are even glimmers of hope for liberal apostasy in some big cities, as demonstrated by the election of New York’s pro-police Eric Adams and San Francisco’s recall of progressive school board members.
As was the case during the Reformation, the apostate’s course is still not an easy one. But their critique remains critical to undermining the current progressive theology — a far more effective weapon than the reactionary antics of DeSantis, which are focused primarily on Right-leaning GOP voters. In contrast, the apostates speak the same language and share many of the values that once constituted progressive ideals. They are, in other words, both the key to restoring rationality — and to keeping liberalism alive for future generations.

"...Former frontman of Autumn's Gambler and the Solo project Odd Revolver, Oleander Grimm, wanted for questioning in the death of two former members of his camp...."
"....Undercover police officers investigating the disappearances of hundreds across the country in seemingly ritualistic killings found dead after seemingly being compromised..... a manhunt has begun for the presumed killer.... Grimm, once a household name with his band, is wanted and his whereabouts are unknown, his Los Angeles home set ablaze seemingly intentionally..."
"The body of a man has been found in the remains of Grimm's former home, matching descriptions of the musician- while forensics will be required to identify the remains completely.... it seems the nightmare may finally be over."
The TV crackles and fades to silence on the motel dresser, and seated at the foot of the filthy bed, a dead man smokes another cigarette. He'd been had- fucking pigs, 30 years of careful work down the drain, because his 'manager' and his bitch wife were deep-cover officers. So he'd reacted poorly- most would, when their entire livelihood was about to fall to scraps at their feet. He'd not realized that he'd kicked the last struggling, termite eaten support out from beneath his existence until he was behind the wheel of a moving van with the bay over-full with flammables, and the corpse of some poor SOB who's only crime had been drinking in the same bar. Until his entire life's work sat in hot ash- the fire greedy for her fuel, the devil starved for his due.
So he was stood now at square one- a square his feet had never been acquainted with, thanks to the Grimm family's connections in Hollywood- He'd been born with the blessings he needed to build an empire, and even when he cast those off- his family and his acting career quickly growing unbearable in his teens- colored by a cocaine addiction and a twin flame who's bad moon eclipsed his own, He still had the recognition it had given him when from the remains rose Autumn's Gamblers. He wonders, for a moment, as he stretches out in his motel bed, how much time he's bought himself with this little display- he'd liked that house, and with a case so high profile, they were bound to run the forensics on that body soon enough- his DNA was on the books from that riot he incited at the Roxy in the 90s, from a number of B & E's with the band, prints marked down from bar fight after bar fight in city after city just to try and feel something other than the absent numbness.
It hadn't worked, but then, it never worked, if he was being honest with himself, and eventually, that numbness became an asset. Eventually, that numbness made him a perfect hunter. He'd gotten sloppy, this time. He was the fox caught in the henhouse, and while he'd done his best to wipe blood from his maw, the farmer was closing in. But he'd had a failsafe in mind for quite some time, hadn't he? A disappearing ghost town in West Virginia, now a mere two states away, would be his salvation. America's own little bermuda triangle, swallowing up those who traveled inside simply to erase them from the world outside. He'd kept track of it, his interest in the Occult storied and well known- part of the reason he was in this mess to begin with, the perfect suspect for his own murders.
That tech mogul heir who'd done promotion in LA vanished in 2021 on his way to DC. The frontwoman for The Damned Woman, originally from the area, gone without a trace after going home for a visit. Actors, artists, musicians, government agents, military types, and even the average joe simply wiped off the earth. And Huntsville had been the key. So he'd packed his things before lighting his home ablaze- something he hoped the fire would cover up- something he knew it wouldn't not completely- and struck out on the road, unknowing of what might wait for him inside, it was better than giving himself up to the sheep who'd see him hang for simply doing his role in the food chain.
Some of us are put here to be greater than everyone else, Ollie, that's you and me. I made a promise to something when I was young, it told me I'd find fame and fortune, I just had to find my partner. That's you.
Words decades old echo in his mind even now, as blue eyes fall on the bedside clock, the dusty digital display flagging the exact time of night he should be asleep were he a different kind of man. Instead he sparks up his second cigarette in quick succession, takes a drag and leans his head back, watches the smoke dance past his lips.
It's up to you. It was always gonna be up to you. I've gotta answer for what we did, Ollie, but you'll keep doing our work, won't you? Too many rabbits and not enough wolves to cull them down. We're not like them, you're special, It blessed you. Now I need you to watch me, and make sure I don't chicken out or try to come down. It always knew you would be stronger, okay? Come on, don't cry. 27's as good an age as any to go- I'll live forever in the minds of people who love us and you.
His fingers graze over a hand-written 27 tattoo on his wrist, sighing softly. Part of him feels like he failed. This wasn't part of the plan, part of the deal. Their number had come up years ago. He had sacrificed himself to ensure October's side of the deal didn't hang unfulfilled. And here he was. Running away, because whatever protection, whatever luck had been on his side had abandoned him just long enough for anger to win.
It's enough to make him angry again, sends rage pricking through his body, because this was not part of the deal, everything he'd ever worked for burning away somewhere thousands of miles away while he rots in bed, thinking about long-dead lovers and sacraments in blood made when he was little more than a boy himself. This was his calling, his duty- he was meant to cull and destroy in service of something he couldn't hear the voice of on his own- that had been his job. to listen.
Morning comes. He doesn't sleep. simply pays his room fee with more money than he needs to and climbs behind the wheel of the moving van once more. He drives in silence, memories on replay even as he passes the town limits from a detour.
He tries to hide the smile on his face as the mayor and sheriff explain to him what he's driven into- tries to pass it off as a nervous grin about his uncertain future, suffocate the thrill of a built-in alibi and creatures to hunt alongside beneath false fear.
One day, we'll hunt together, free from everything the world insists on. Changed, but together. I promise, Ollie.
October's pleased to see his face on a ghost a few nights later.
Maybe he kept his promise, after all.

Terrible Writing Advice On Smart Characters: One Piece
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How nice this episode of Terrible Writing Advice drops while we are on Egghead Island because it brings up how not to do a smart type of character. And I realized how in many ways that the Strawhats has many types of smart characters. Not one is an expert in everything and is disciplined in a certain field. For the strawhats who are disciplines here is the list: Chopper-medicine; Nami- navigation/weather; Franky-machinery/shipwright; Robin- archeologist; tinkering- Ussop. A lot of their skills have been used for exposition and for combat as well. Look at how Ussop makes weapons for many people, Franky as well. Chopper made the rubble balls and Nami again uses the climatact and her knowledge of weather science and later weather sorcery to help her fight. Again their fields help them achieve their goals and serve as a theme of how each one brings something to the table to make their crew succeed. It shows how being the smart guy can be versatile.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for the mad scientist part, we have tons of mad scientists in One Piece which includes the likes of Caesar Clown, Judge, Queen, and Hogback. One interesting thing is that many have expertise in a field or two. For instance, Judge is focused on cloning, genetic engineering, and super weapons, Queen has focus on bio-weapons, cybernetics, and machinery, Caesar Clown on chemistry and biogenetics,  and Hogback is on medicine. Of course, as shown here the mad scientist part is because of how unethical they can be but it is shown again these people have a focus on a field and know how to really use it and usually stick to their field of knowledge when you see how they work. And again all these people seem to be skilled in a certain discipline instead of instantly being an expert in all fields unlike other scientists in other media.
Another thing noticed is that again cut Luthor a check is averted because they do sell their skills to others. With Caesar Clown being the most prominent, since he’s part of the Smile’s operation and sells his bioweapons. While Judge doesn’t sell his stuff, he does use his expertise to sell his services as assassins. Queen and Hogback don’t do that type of stuff but just serve their masters. With Hogback, he already made money off from being a doctor and was just obsessed with mastering death to bring back the woman he lusted over. Queen himself is less focused on profit since he was a Calamity under Kaido, but also the fact he’s a sadist who wants to put new ways to do warfare. So, in a way, he doesn’t need money to really enrich himself
I do notice that of them all Caesar Clown tends to be the one who is both a hack when he tries to imitate Vegapunk but an expert when it comes to what his field is. I do think the reason why he’s second rate is because stuff like the artificial devil fruit are out of his field since Vegapunk is a rather versatile scientist who is beyond regulars. So Caesar set himself up for failure by trying to imitate Vegapunk’s mastery and it’s actually kind of a deconstruction of how a scientist can fail hard if they don’t know the mastery or expertise behind recreating another’s scientists work if they don’t have the skill.
Tumblr media
And of course, we get to Vegapunk a character who until recently has finally revealed after being played up for many years. Of course, as we see he’s the embodiment of the archetype of the brainy scientist and is acknowledged as being ahead of his time so much that he’s said to be 500 years ahead. He does seem to be one of the few depicted omnicdisiplinary scientist which is a scientist who is presented as being able to do any science. And in a way, it also makes him a dangerous asset because he can create so much that it can become more and more a threat to the government’s standing. Another thing I notice from here that even though he’s multidisciplinary there are stuff he can’t know or do because of the difficulties replicating results. And another thing mentioned why he can’t sell his ideas is because of lack of funds and because it would be difficult for common people to replicate what he’s created. And again it’s a good look into what being a multidisciplinary scientist can be. It’s an aspect of a scientist I notice not utilized much for his archetype but it’s very interesting that Oda noted.

Star Wars au
Ether People with Haki or devil fruit users (since it so rare are force users)
So the force users would ether be
Luffy, sanji, zoro and usopp
Or
Luffy, Robin, Brook and chopper
Okay so in this au I'm thinking the Rebellion are the RA and the Imperials are the world government
All the strawhats are space pirates for their own reasons and since the jedi are virtually extinct Luffy only knows how to use his force through Garp. And that means he only knows the dark side of the force. It doesn't really affect much though, it just means Luffy uses the force in weird turned-around ways that no one really does because he's Creative. Ace is similar but it's more obvious what he's using is the dark side because he mostly manipulates oxygen for his pyrotechnics and accidentally chokes people a lot.
I'd say Robin, Brook and Chopper are also force users, Robin is on the run for it, Brook was around before the jedi were slaughtered (it was pinned on Roger, the Imperials are much more diplomatic and manipulative than directly subjugative in this because I don't like the way starwars does it and also for Coby) and Chopper was being taught what he could by Kureha who doesn't have that connection to the force but knew a few jedis in her time
Franky is still a cyborg, he made so many advancements in bionic engineering and his dad made plans for the death star so the Imperials wanted him So Bad. Franky's gang was mostly made up of imperial veterans-turned-engineers with disabilities Franky helped with his groundbreaking prosthetics.
Cloning is still a thing and there are still clones for stormtroopers but clones are considered stupid, expendible muscle so they don't often get brought up in rank. Also, ones born with defects get trashed instead of mechanically aged to adults, and Coby was trashed for his bad eyesight but Alvida the Space Pirate took him in because clones are built to be inhumanly strong and one loyal to her would be an asset.
Sanji is a failed experiment still but he's also got a few quirks about him like how he's the best with changes in atmospheric pressure and he can hold his breath for 10 minutes
Other than that the crew is pretty much the same - Zoro does have a red, a blue and a purple light saber (the purple one has a white hilt) and Brook also has a lightsaber - his is very thin and blue. And Luffy uses the force to make his punches harder instead of normal telekinesis because Luffy.

The Bottomless Pit - Interlude
“García Escudero, is it?”
“Señor. Thank you for coming all the way from Germany. The way international flights are fucked these past weeks - how’d you manage?” The Mexican fisherman’s figure fidgeted nervously in the dim light.
“I have my ways. So, the asset you mentioned?”
“Aah-ah. Here, señor. Joder, it’s a brave new world. These waters are dead ever since that bomb dropped-” The man murmured as he led the small, cloaked company deeper and deeper into the bowels of a warehouse. Through the last door... and here it is. Golden scales dulled by untold days of decay, red eyes hazy and unseeing but still retaining some semblance of that evil glimmer.
The man extended a gloved hand, and placed it right on the snout of a dead Devil.
“Señor? Are you taking...”
“I sense... a pulse. Something yet lingers... Fascinating. Just as we theorized, head is the seat of the soul. The dominant one, no less.”
“Ehm. We don’t ask for much, but for the trouble both Monarch and the Government will give us...” The man hesitantly purposed, but the latter part of his sentence was drown in a pained gurgle. He floated a feet above the ground, eyes bulging in fear as an invisible iron grip seized his neck, and clamped down. This is a crime Victivus did not enjoy committing, but a loose end is a loose end.
“Your part of the deal exceeds all expectations, my friend. You have met your unfortunate demise when your ship sunk in the storm near Isla de Mara. Your family will be provided shelter and relocated to Monarch-approved inland safezone. Your name will be written in glory after we remake this world.”
...
“Kuso. Who the hell are you again?” Ren Serizawa had been drowning himself in a Tokyo bar when the man approached. “I have many names. Director Heinz Schmitt of Monarch Germany branch, Walter Simmons of Apex Cybernatics, Lord Victivus... whatever that title serves nowadays. Which one do you prefer?” Victivus calmly dodged a glass cup thrown his way by the young man; it caught itself mid-air, before settling on the table once more.
“I’m not some conjurer of cheap tricks, you see.” Victivus put a hand on the younger man’s shoulder as Ren’s face blushed a furious red, the alcohol taking its toll but still not hiding his surprise.
“But what the heck can you do? We are bugs, insignificant bugs compared to them! We either fucking revere them as deities like my old man, or be destroyed... They are GODS. What are we in front of gods?”
Ren’s frame was wrecked by another sob he thought he hid well. Victivus knew, despite all their differences, Ren loved his father dearly. He sought to live up to Ishiro, yet the old man’s entire life have been consumed by his one fascination... Godzilla.
“And what are gods... in front of non-believers?” Victivus whispered as Ren lifted his face, brows contorted in sorrow. “Your father was a martyr, and a good man. That his action ultimately saved humanity is worth my sincerest salutation. Alas, he was misguided no less.” Ren slammed his fist on the table, wine spilling out from the impact. The young man will snap out of it, that Victivus was certain. He was a Serizawa. And the Serizawas have always been determined and sturdy souls.
When Ren found himself painfully somber the next day, a message was on his encrypted cellphone. How’d anyone bypass his firewalls? Frowning, he opened the message. “Kazakhstan, Aral Sea, Rebirth Island. Specimen Zero, Project Raijin. Put your talent to good use. D.V.”
I saw an angel coming down from heaven. He had the key to the bottomless pit and a large chain in his hand. The angel seized the dragon, that old snake who is the devil and Satan, and tied him up for a thousand years...

You know that moment when the government you work for is losing an intergalactic war so they rip a hole in spacetime to a parallel universe to recruit help from an identical government down to the exact same people except it goes wrong, your spaceship crashes, you and your captain survive except he doesn’t remember anything from the crash and you have to lie to him about everything that’s happened and where you are both because you’re worried the stress will kill him and also because the new tyrannical government that’s recruited you (identical to the old one) is forcing you to because your version of your captain is MUCH more useful than THEIR version of your captain and if he remembers you’re from a different universe, he might try to go back there and the new government doesn’t want to lose a valuable asset
anyway.

"God, the Devil & the Multiverse"
A good many thousands of years ago, King Yahweh of the utopian celestial abode known as Heaven spoke with some of the princes presiding in his central castle, the seat of his divine government.
“Prince Michael, I was wondering if I might have a word with you and your brother, Prince Lucifer,” said the king.
“As you wish, Your Excellency. I will notify Archangel Lucifer as soon as possible,” replied Prince Michael. And so the two angelic brothers met their Eternal Father in his throne room for a conference.
“My omniscience has made me aware of an insurrection that will transpire on your behalf, Prince Lucifer. The imminent rebellion will be met with great resistance by your kid brother, the one among us called Prince Michael,” said King Yahweh.
“Surely you realize our king is mistaken,” said Lucifer to Michael. “With all due respect, King Yahweh, I am the one whose authority spoken language ought to take precedence.”
From then on, the situation escalated, resulting in Lucifer’s expulsion from that sacred celestial monarchy.
Ten thousand years later, as Satan and his right hand man Beelzebub had prophesied, in the metropolitan town of Waterbury, Connecticut, a child called Andrew Julius LaMotta and his brother Don were left orphaned after their parents succumbed to a fatal plane crash following their decision to move back to New England from the west coast. Beelzebub was a fallen angel who became one of the four crown princes of Hell and had been doing Satan’s bidding for a good while.
Don and Andy LaMotta were subsequently taken under their maternal Uncle Timothy Sorrentino’s wing. Timothy was a fruitful kingpin of methamphetamine, and the presence of his nephews and their behavior provided additional domestic instability. This caused Uncle Timothy to divorce Aunt Millie, with Millie receiving one hundred percent of their assets. Timothy, Andy, Don and Tim’s son Kevin wound up living in a remote cabin in the Midwest, from which the four of them became the subject of national media attention in connection with an extensive string of criminal activities, primarily bank robberies and overseas drug empires.
The LaMotta brothers, along with their uncle, were sent to separate federal penitentiaries, only to escape due to the assistance of cousin Kevin Sorrentino, who had eluded capture when the feds kicked in the front door of their residence in the backwoods of Montana.
