my other insane contribution from this au is that ahsoka is like "why can't you just soak in a bacta tank and regrow these beta cells" and anakin is like "well i COULD but then my immune system just kills them again*" and she's like "ooooh like lekku" bc i wanted her to have a non-human point of reference for autoimmune diseases and my brain-- knowing only about three things about ahsoka-- decided "all togruta are programmed for continual lekku growth, but sex-related hormones cause continual cell degradation that keep male** lekku short"
*i don't, like, keep super up to date on t1d research but my impression was that it's currently unclear if continual destruction of beta cells would be a problem if we figured out how to replace/regrow them. but anakin is also Special so let's say even if NORMAL people wouldn't have that problem, his body has a super charged immune system worthy of The Chosen One
**disclaimer about natural variation among/between sexes means that there's undoubtedly ""cis"" (or togruta equivalent) male with long lekku and ""cis"" females with short lekku

1. building a new piece of furniture from a flat pack together
The pieces of the Tufjord lay scattered on the bedroom floor in a map of insurmountable defeat.
Yuanzhi tosses a screw to the pile of of accessories and promptly declares he is going to look for a drink.
“No you’re not,” Shangjue says, grabbing him by the waist and pulling him back down onto his lap. Wrapping his arms around him, he traps his husband, soothing the capture with kisses to the corner of Yuanzhi’s lips, pecking his cheek and huffing a breath of laughter right behind his ear when he starts to whine.
“I still don’t understand why we couldn’t have gotten one that was already assembled. Or even had someone assemble it for us.”
Shangjue squeeze the man in his embrace. Shaking his head, he puts on moue of mock reluctance. “I can’t have that! What if my Yuanzhi sees those capable men assemble our bed for us and…!” He lets out a gasp. “He falls in love with their competence and leaves me because I can’t put up an IKEA bed for him?”
Yuanzhi is properly amused now, laughing along when Shangjue rubs his cheeks to Yuanzhi’s shoulder. “Don’t leave me, Yuanzhi ah! I can’t build IKEA furnitures for you but I promise I’ll be good to you and treat you right!”
Shangjue lets Yuanzhi throw his arm around his shoulder, giggling when the tip of his nose is kissed.
The warmth in his heart glows when Yuanzhi pulls back to caress his face. “I know. You’re the best man I have ever known. I married you because I know you’ll never let me down in the ways that matter most.”
“Yuanzhi ah…” Shangjue smiles, linking their hands together. In the afternoon light, their wedding rings glint. “You’re really good to me.”
“I’m glad you see that.”
Shangjue pulls him closer. “So, I’ll be good to you too, okay?”
Yuanzhi merely lowers his gaze, a small smile curling at his cherry red lips. “Mn…”
After a beat, Yuanzhi quietly asks, “Do we really need a bed frame to be able to christen our bedroom?”
Shangjue tilts his face to Yuanzhi, wiggling his eyebrows. He doesn’t need telling twice to pick his husband up, swallowing up his laughter with kisses and a happy chuckle of his own.

does anybody else feel weirdly misplaced being a woman who grew up in the "I'm not like other girls" era, an era of girls who prided themselves on being "low-maintenance" and rejecting current beauty standards... only now you're all grown up and you're living in a era where beauty is more attainable now than ever before, an era where plastic surgery -- nose jobs, BBLs, face lifts, lip injections, eyebrow threading, buccal fat removal -- is the new normal, practically an expectation, for many , and twenty year-olds are getting "preventative Botox", and like everyone around you is "glowing up" and Gen Zers are just BORN pretty, like they came out of the womb looking "snatched", and you still look like you did your junior year of high school except with better brows and more body dysmorphia than you ever had before --
and like, you don't want any part of it but the pressure is weirdly still THERE, like, maybe I should have the same nose that everybody else has? or maybe I should get my eyebrows done -- and it's like NO. Why do you feel that pressure to conform? Who said you weren't beautiful the way that you are? why are we always looking for things to change about ourselves? Why is changing your body packaged as 'empowering'?

Today marks the anniversary of being Diagnosed with Diabetes. I had been feeling shitty for quite some time beforehand and in retrospective, the signs were all symptoms of undiagnosed diabetes.
Theres no weaselling out of responsibility, taking the easy way out of blaming genetics or unfortunate circumstances, the diabetes was a devil of my own making. A result of imcredibly destructive and unhealthy lifestyle choices over a prolonged time.
I still remember the day My gp's asistant called and insisted on a fast appointment. It was a bit unusual, I just thought it would be another "be aware of the future impact of your choices" pep talknfro my doc. It wasnt, he flatout, no mercy smacked the diagnosis into my face. An incredibly harsh, yet effective wakeup call. Instantly Inwent home, poured all tge coke in my fridge into the toilet (bottles were opened and prepared withnfreshly squeezed lime juice, the closed ones i had i donated to a coworker) and gave away all overly unhealthy food items i had in my possession.
Called and made a Diabetologist appointment the next morning. hbpa 11 % Hardcore bad. I was enrolled in a course for Type 2 Diabetics, I had to attend once a week over a few months. I learned the basics and got taught a few tricks and was told that for starters, just switching out things for healthy alternatives is fine, change needs to come slow, carefully. I was probably the only one who 100% religiously followed the courses lessons and brought weekly blood sugar measurement values in.
What was the most incredibly hard to pull off change was carbs. You dont realize how carb heavy your diet is until you look to change it. I tried to keep my pure carb content at 100g daily, maximum!!! That led me to stick with a very heavy protein and low fiber diet. Naturally that took only a short time till that caused a whole row od side issues i still struggle with now (to a much lesser degree, but still).
This april things hit a dead stop and over a period of 1 month I hit the lows and highs of digestive problems too grtesque, horrifying and panful to publically disclose. It was at times so bad it drove me to a place too dark too describe. But witg perseverance, help from my friends, physicians and even coworkers I made it through that time aswell.
I stll occasionally struggle with issues and have a bad say now and again, often to the detriment of my mental state. But thats also something I am now seeing someone about.
One year later from the startbof everything, I sit in my favorite cafe and reflect. It was an insanely eventful and difficult year. A year defined by willpower, change, endurance, struggle, pain but also by health, new perspective and positivity. All in all, I think its been a rather positive change altogether. I lost more than 60 kg over this year and my hbpa is now 4.8% (really excellent for a diabetic) and even my blood pressure has stabilized by alot.
I thank my friends, family, coworkers, therapists and all physicians who stood by me during this difficult time. I sincerely could not have done it wthout all of you. As I sit here in my cafe, I lift my triple espresso (no milk foam) and have a cup for all of you and hope for a better future and more positive change in the coming times.
So take it from me: always have enough fiber in your diet and use healthy alternatives wherever possible (wholegrain pasta instead of white flour)

TOP BENEFITS OF MEDITATION FOR MIND AND BODY
Meditation, an ancient practice rooted in various cultures worldwide, has surged in popularity as a holistic approach to enhancing well-being. This practice, which involves the use of techniques such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity, aims to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state. Beyond its immediate relaxing effects, meditation boasts a multitude of benefits for both mind and body, contributing to an overall healthier and more balanced lifestyle. Here are the top benefits of meditation for mind and body:
1. Reduces Stress
Stress reduction is one of the most common reasons people try meditation. Numerous studies have shown that meditation can decrease the production of stress hormones, such as cortisol, and reduce the inflammation response caused by stress. This can lead to a calmer mind, helping individuals cope with stress more effectively and reduce the negative impact of stress on the body.
2. Enhances Emotional Health
Meditation can lead to an improved self-image and a more positive outlook on life. Certain forms of meditation, such as mindfulness, can decrease levels of depression and anxiety. By promoting emotional health, meditation contributes to a sense of well-being and happiness.
3. Improves Sleep
Insomnia is a common issue, with many adults experiencing it at some point. Meditation can help by promoting relaxation, which can make it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep longer. By improving the quality of sleep, meditation can enhance overall health and reduce the risk of related health issues.
4. Boosts Memory and Concentration
Regular meditation has been shown to enhance cognitive functions, including memory and concentration. It can help increase the thickness of the prefrontal cortex, the area of the brain responsible for these functions. This can be particularly beneficial as we age, helping to keep the mind sharp and improving cognitive performance.
5. Lowers Blood Pressure
Meditation can lead to physical changes in the body that improve heart health. By promoting relaxation, it can reduce strain on the heart and improve blood circulation. Lower blood pressure can decrease the risk of heart disease and stroke, contributing to a healthier cardiovascular system.
6. Supports Immune System
Meditation can boost the immune system by reducing stress and promoting better sleep, both of which play a crucial role in immune function. A stronger immune system can help the body fend off illnesses and infections more effectively.
7. Enhances Self-Awareness
Some forms of meditation encourage self-reflection and can lead to an increased awareness of oneself and one's thoughts. This can help individuals recognize thought patterns that may be harmful or self-defeating and develop strategies to manage them more effectively, leading to improved mental health and well-being.
8. Encourages a Healthier Lifestyle
The mindfulness cultivated through meditation can extend to other aspects of life, including eating habits and physical activity. Individuals who meditate regularly may become more mindful of their food choices and engage in more consistent physical activity, contributing to overall physical health.
9. Helps with Addiction
By increasing self-control and awareness of triggers for addictive behaviors, meditation can be a useful tool in the recovery from addiction. Mindfulness meditation, in particular, can help people understand the emotional and psychological triggers of their addiction, providing them with the skills to manage them without resorting to substance use.
Conclusion
The benefits of meditation extend far beyond a mere moment of relaxation. Incorporating meditation into daily life can lead to profound improvements in both mental and physical health, enhancing quality of life in numerous ways. Whether you're looking to reduce stress, improve your emotional health, or simply seek a greater sense of peace and well-being, meditation offers a simple yet powerful tool that everyone can benefit from.

Weight Loss Journey
I’m beginning my weight loss journey. Something I never thought I’d say after recovering from an*rexia.
I spent 10 years of my life battling a restrictive earing disorder, recovered and got to about 160-170 pounds. I then went on a medication and set out to enjoy all the food I wanted without a care in the world. I am now 250 pounds because the medication has a side effect of intense weight gain.
I am proud of myself for loving myself through my weight gain. But because of that medication and overindulgence in certain food choices I am now facing issues with diabetes, cholesterol, and liver damage. I realize now it truly is about moderation. We can enjoy all foods, but we shouldn’t indulge in them in copious amounts every day.
I am determined to get myself healthy. To reverse the type 2 diabetes, to lower my heart risk, and to lose some weight.
There is such a thing as being healthy and fat, lots of people accomplish that. But for me, my body is not happy at this weight and I believe I am past my “set point range” aka your bodies happy place. Some people’s happy place IS 250 pounds, but I think mine is back around 160-190 where I began in recovery before going on that medication whose side effect is weight gain and diabetes.
I am determined to live a long and healthy and happy life.
I’ve begun tracking my food, calories, cholesterol, sugar, and fat intake. I’m nervous about counting calories because that was a part of my disorder but so far I’ve been managing it well and not getting obsessed. I want to lose weight healthfully, restore my bodies healthy levels, and feel overall healthy and better mobility.
Today is day 4 of making healthier choices, I emptied my fridge and restocked it with healthier options. I bought nicotine gum to hopefully help me quit smoking. I’m doing yoga 3 times a week and hope to add in some cardio. I am determined.
I will get my health back.
Power to anyone struggling with their weight or their health. We are tough cookies and will get through it and find our happy places within our own bodies.
Stay strong everyone ♥️

A little update on my wellness journey. No weightloss, but lots of energy and better mental health. My blood sugars are beginning to get under control, seeing my diabetes nurse practitioner will help with that a lot. The end of the month was the earliest I could get an appointment. I'm still struggling to enjoy things at the moment. I can't even watch Netflix and be satisfied right now. However, I will be returning to work for full time hours beginning Monday. I decided to do this because I feel like I'm in a stable enough position health wise to go back and the extra money is needed. Boyfriend and I just bought our first car together ❤️

Back to the "start" [early days 2009-2012]
My college story [pre-diagnosis]: In 2009, I graduated high school. Transfered into the local community college for biology.
Fall 2009: The first semester went great, though I struggled with the History of Western Civilization. That's probably because of unmedicated ADHD and having listened to Western Civ most of my HS experience. That's also when I started reading Glee fanfiction, so I'd often read that instead of study.
Spring 2010: much the same. The vicious combo of Chemistry I, Calc I, and Intro to Literature kicked my butt. However, Western Civ II was amazing.
Summer 2010 [diaster begins] My advisor said the only way I could graduate on time was if I took Calc II and Chem II in the summer. BOY, she screwed me over in so many ways. A D in the Chem II -4 credits [transferable, but have to retake; and F in Calc II -5 credits]. Tanked my GPA and was a sign of something more going on.
I couldn't remember things, I was tired in the morning, and alert in the evening. I could eat a lot without gaining weight, but still feel hungry and awful. I was both high-energy and exhausted. Later, my first Endocrinlogist and my high school anatomy teacher described it as being on uppers and downers at the same time. Or having the gas and break going and spinning in circles burning yourself out.
I continued on with school because I didn't really know what was happening. I was barely 19 and have since learned that both ADHD and LADA can cause issues with mind and body communication.
Fall 2010: I took Bio, Anatomy, U.S. History, and Intro to Psych.
The time of day really impacted how I was doing. I got an A on my first Bio exam at 9 am. Then I proceeded to fail the next 3. U.S. History I couldn't retain the information, disliked it in the first place, and also had it earlier in the day. Anatomy and Psychology were later in the day so I could pass them.
In late October 2010 my dad noticed I had a puffy neck when going to visit relatives. He told my mom to take me to the ER. I had am EKG that had showed concerning results especially witj my heart rate being above 160. They told me I needed to see an endocrinologist. My dad set me up with his. The worst bedside manner known [well probably not] to man, but he saved my life.
Because I could get medicated, I withdrew from two of my classes for medical reasons and managed to pass the other two [no idea how tbh]. I was diagnosed with Graves' Disease with a severe Hyperthyroid and Goider that was impacting my breathing. I was on drugs every 2-4 hours. Then I got my blood drawn, and right before I drank a juice box because it's all I had at the time.
My blood sugar was 512 mg/dl, and my A1C was 11. Type 2 runs in my family, so there was an assumption that that's what it was. I was put on novolog 70/30, but two weeks later, he sent me for antibody testing. 10 days before US Thanksgiving 2011, I got the call that I am Type 1 insulin dependent.
I was immediately taken off the 70/30 and placed on Levemir and Novolog. Relatively high doses as having two autoimmune conditions at once on fire seemed to make my body more resistant to go below 170 ever.
My then endocrinologist said my thyroid was making everything worse, including my airway. Radio active iodine wouldn't shrink it enough. So, I was scheduled for a total Thyroidectomy on April 6, 2011.
Ironically, the area I struggled the most to learn while sick was anatomy, I had to withdraw from Anatomy II 3 different times while in treatment [and once post].
Following the total Thyroidectomy on April 6, 2011, my blood sugar stabilized with low imsulin. I was slowly lowered from 20 levemir twice a day, down to 18 levemir once a day. I was only taking 1-2 units per meal where, before, I was taking 5-7 depending on the carbs. My ratio was still 1:15. My endocrinologist wanted to start me on this "new GLP-1 RA, Victoza" and said he suspected I am LADA, not just Type 1. This means I might have a little pancreatic function left, and using Victoza might foster that insulin sustaining. Taking Victoza allowed me to stop taking fast acting insulin and my A1C was still in the non diabetic range.
I returned in Fall 2011 to continue my degree and was doing really well, primarily getting A's with an occasional B. Unfortunately, with the F and D on my final grades, my GPA was on the lower side, so I had to do really well to get that up. I was very lucky that I was in a guaranteed admissions program from high school that lowered the requirements [though they'd gone up in that time]. So I just needed more than a 2.75 [non-program needed 3.0].
I was able to get it up to 3.93 before I graduated and was able to transfer to a 4-year college.
To be continued...

The Dukan Diet.
Pros and cons of the Dukan diet
Tumblr media
Low-carbohydrate diet Pierre Dukan is a good opportunity not only to lose excess weight, but also to maintain it in the future within the norm. The system does not impose restrictions on the amount of food eaten during the day, so the feeling of hunger or guilt for each extra piece will not haunt a person who uses the Dukan diet to lose weight. However, his daily diet will have to be revised, making the main emphasis on protein products. In addition to the 100 items allowed to eat products, during the diet and after its completion, it is also necessary to introduce oat bran in the menu. They fully replace one meal, providing a sense of satiety, help reduce blood cholesterol and get rid of constipation. From bran you can cook porridge, bake bread, dilute them in non-fat kefir. The Dukan diet involves the complete exclusion from the diet of any fat, oil and mayonnaise. All products are better boiled, baked in the oven, cooked on a grill or a pan with a non-stick coating. Instead of vegetable oil or mayonnaise, lemon juice is used for salads. The Dukan diet is one of the most popular methods of weight loss around the world. It was developed by Dr. Pierre Dukan, a famous nutritionist from France. A parallel can be drawn between the Dukan diet and the Kremlin diet, as both of them are based on the low consumption of carbohydrate products. The Dukan diet is a whole system of nutrition, which is designed for a fairly long period of time. The weight loss program is divided into 4 stages. Each of them involves compliance with certain requirements and recommendations. However, there are also general rules that must be followed, regardless of what stage a person is at:
Water. It should enter the body at least 2 liters per day.
Walks. Every day you need to spend time in the fresh air. The walk should last at least a quarter of an hour.
Oat bran. This product should be present on the table every day.
Exercise. Physical exercise in the morning is a prerequisite for weight loss.
Pros of the Pierre Dukan diet
Tumblr media
The main plus of the Dukan diet is its high efficiency. However, this is not all the advantages of the weight loss program from the French nutritionist; among them you can also highlight the following factors:
- The menu is dominated by products containing protein. It is necessary for the body to build and strengthen muscles.
- The diet does not drive a person into rigid frameworks. It is convenient to practice it for working people who do not have the opportunity to eat on a schedule.
- The diet does not require a scrupulous counting of kilocalories.
- The menu is quite varied. Every day you can eat delicious dishes and discover new culinary masterpieces. And it is not difficult to cook them, which allows you to apply the recipes of the diet in ordinary life.
- The diet cannot be called "hungry". It prohibits the use of certain foods, but those that are allowed, you can eat in unlimited quantities.
- The diet is relatively safe for human health, so you can stick to it for a long time.
- Compliance with the rules of the Dukan diet will allow not only to lose excess weight, but also to get rid of cellulite, as well as tighten the skin, increase muscle tone.

Cons of the Pierre Dukan diet
Tumblr media
Pierre Dukan's diet has some minuses:
- The food system cannot be called balanced. Therefore, the adherents of the diet are likely to develop a deficiency of some vitamins and trace elements.
- Against the background of nutrient deficiency, there may be failures in the digestive and nervous systems.
- At the initial stage of weight loss, the state of health may deteriorate, which will be manifested in increased fatigue and frequent dizziness.
- Lack of fats can cause hormonal imbalance.
- Emphasis in the diet is placed on foods rich in protein. The body, digesting them, produces ketone bodies, which will lead to the appearance of bad breath. After a person switches to a habitual diet, this problem should go away by itself.
- The diet cannot be called economical. Protein products for cooking are not cheap. Therefore, having decided to get rid of excess weight on the Dukan system, it is worth preparing in advance for the upcoming expenses.
Harm of the Dukan diet
Tumblr media
The Dukan diet is built on the use of predominantly protein food. As a result of such errors in nutrition seriously impaired metabolism. Begins to burn not only fat, but also muscle. It is worth realizing that the human heart is also a muscle. When the body cells do not get enough carbohydrates, fat is not completely broken down. As a result, there is an accumulation of ketone bodies. If there are too many of them in the body, metabolic acidosis (acetone poisoning) will develop. Therefore, you should not neglect sufficient fluid intake. It is important to drink at least 2 liters of water per day to minimize the risk of acidosis.
Therefore, adequate fluid intake should not be neglected. It is important to drink at least 2 liters of water per day to minimize the risk of acidosis. However, even if this condition is met, no one will guarantee that the kidneys will function as intended. Almost all people who followed the Dukan diet, indicated the appearance of acetone odor from the mouth and pain in the area of the kidneys. Another disadvantage of the Dukan diet can be called a violation of nerve tissue conduction. It is known that carbohydrates are a source of nutrition for the brain. In the day only pure glucose it needs about 100 g, which equates to 380 kcal. The Dukan diet on carbohydrates imposes a strict restriction. Abrupt weight loss leads to the fact that the body is deprived of fatty tissue. Fat is necessary for a person, despite all the theses of Pierre Dukan. If there is too little fat in the body, it threatens the appearance of health problems. The fact is that fat takes part in water metabolism, it is a component of the cell membrane, it is in surfactant, which is necessary for the normal operation of the lungs. In general, fat is necessary for the proper functioning of the body. Therefore, excessive and too rapid weight loss is bound to have a negative impact on health. Recent studies have shown that the lack of fat in the daily menu 10 times increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. Another significant disadvantage of eating according to the Dukan system is that the menu clearly shows a lack of dietary fiber. As a result, chronic constipation develops, bad breath appears, skin becomes dull and looks pale. Therefore, people who adhere to the Dukan diet, it is extremely important to consume bran. Do not forget about physical activity, because without it, the situation with stool will only worsen. And it is worth preparing in advance to the fact that neither exercise nor the reception of oat bran will not completely get rid of bad breath and constipation. Dukan diet can be followed only on the background of absolute health. In the presence of any chronic diseases for weight loss is recommended to use less radical programs. The number of products containing carbohydrates, you can first try to reduce by 50% and track the reaction of the body. Also do not forget about hiking, sports or yoga.
Contraindications
Tumblr media
Before starting to lose weight on the Dukan program, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the contraindications that are available to this diet:
- You cannot adhere to the Dukan diet to people who suffer from metabolic disorders. A complete refusal of carbohydrates at the first stage of weight loss will necessarily lead to a failure of metabolic processes, even if they were previously normal. If there are any problems with metabolic processes, the problems will only worsen. Categorically forbidden to adhere to the Dukan diet for people with hypothyroidism, pancreatitis, diabetes, etc.
- Do not sit on the Dukan diet people with disorders in the work of the kidneys, liver, digestive organs. The entire gastrointestinal tract will experience a colossal load when the diet contains such impressive doses of protein. As a result, hepatitis, gastritis, ulcers, cholecystitis and other chronic diseases may aggravate. If a person has violations in the gallbladder, or there is a tendency to constipation, then the problem will only worsen against the background of compliance with the protein diet.
- Do not adhere to this weight loss program for those women who have an unstable menstrual cycle. To a greater extent, this is true for young girls. Therefore, the Dukan diet is categorically not recommended to practice teenagers under 18 years old. Weight will go away quite quickly, which can provoke a violation of the menstrual cycle, or complete disappearance of periods. Those women who have a history of hormonal failure will be more susceptible to fatigue, weakness, drowsiness. Migraine attacks, increased pain in the lower abdomen are possible.
- Prohibited any diet to pregnant and lactating women. It is unacceptable to limit the intake of nutrients to the future child.
- You cannot practice the Dukan diet to women in the preclimacteric period and during menopause. Failure to comply with this recommendation threatens hormonal imbalance, disorders in the work of endocrine glands.
- Cardiovascular disease is also a contraindication to the use of the Dukan diet. Sharp restriction in the menu of polyunsaturated fatty acids can lead to exacerbation of heart and vascular diseases. - The deficit of carbohydrates negatively affects the nervous system, so you should refuse to diet people with unstable psyche. Moreover, not only the mood of a person will deteriorate noticeably, but also weaken his mental abilities.
Tumblr media
Eat This Exotic African Grape Stem And Flush Away Belly Fat Overnight! I lost 97lbs By drinking this every morning
Phase 1
The first phase of the Dukan diet is called "attack". It is the shortest in time, but it is enough to activate the process of splitting fats. The duration of the attack depends on the number of extra pounds you want to get rid of. For example, if the difference between your real and ideal weight is less than 10 kg, it will take only 3 days, and with an excess weight of 10-20 kg, the attack phase will last 3-5 days. To lose weight by 20-30 kg, you need to observe all the conditions of the diet for 5-7 days, and over 30 kg - from 7 to 10 days. Independently increasing the duration of this phase is not recommended, because the body is already experiencing severe stress. In addition, throughout the phase you may be bothered by a strong thirst, but this is a natural process. For better cleansing of the body and replenishment of fluids, you should drink up to 2 liters of pure unboiled water every day. In the mouth may appear unpleasant taste, as well as breath odor, but soon it will pass. At the first stage it is allowed to consume only protein (protein) food - fish, meat, eggs, fat-free cottage cheese. Of the meat assortment, the best option will be beef, veal, rabbit meat. Pork and mutton are not suitable for the diet, since they contain a lot of fat. Of seafood you can use crustaceans and mollusks, there are no restrictions on fish. Suitable for this phase and the meat of birds, with the exception of duck and goose, as well as giblets of poultry. Of dairy products give preference to fat-free cottage cheese, kefir, yogurt, milk powder. Spices, salt and garlic add moderately and to taste. The norm of oat bran at the stage of attack is up to 1.5 tablespoons per day. As for physical activity, it is only welcome, walking up to 20 minutes a day is also useful.
Phase 2
The second phase of the Dukan diet is the "cruise". It differs from the attack by the fact that all kinds of vegetables are introduced in the menu and protein days alternate with protein-vegetable days. The use of vegetables, as recommended by Pierre Dukan, it is better to spend a day a day, because it is safer for the body than 2 days in 2 or 3 days in 3. This stage of weight loss is longer in terms of time - from two months to six months, but at the end of it, your weight will be ideal. Tomatoes and cucumbers, radishes, string beans, any kind of cabbage, greens, zucchini, pumpkin and so on are allowed. Exceptions are vegetables that contain a lot of starch or oil in their composition, primarily potatoes, olives, legumes (except string beans). Beets and carrots are also better to limit, as they contain a lot of sugar. All vegetables can be consumed fresh, boiled, stewed and baked, fried dishes are not welcome. The amount of oat bran at the stage of cruise increases to 2 tablespoons per day, water remains in the same dosage - up to 2 liters. If you are often bothered by constipation, then reduce the intake of bran to 1 tablespoon. As for walks on foot, their duration is increased to 30 minutes a day. If you follow all the recommendations of Pierre Dukan, the result will not make you wait long, and you will soon be able to impress everyone around you with your perfect figure.
Phase 3
The third phase of the Dukan diet is called "consolidation" or "fixing". During it there is a fixation of the obtained result, and the duration of the phase depends on the number of dropped kilograms in the previous stages. For each kilogram lost, the time allotted is 10 days, which means that if you, for example, got rid of 10 kg, the consolidation phase will last you 100 days. The range of allowed products at this stage is significantly expanded, and the diet is supplemented with whole-grain bread (up to 100 g per day), fruits (up to 200 g per day), except for bananas, grapes and cherries, which contain a lot of sugar. Now several times a week you can afford lamb meat or pork, hard cheeses of different fat content. Starchy products - corn, rice, pasta, potatoes and others - are allowed only in the form of 2 portions per week, but a real feast is foreseen, i.e. inclusion in the menu of any dish (even the most caloric) twice a week, in one of the morning or lunch meals. However, such feast days should not go in a row, it is better to alternate them at equal intervals. Once a week, for example, on Wednesday, it is desirable to eat only protein food (proteins).
Phase 4
The fourth phase is called "stabilization", and its duration depends on your desire (even all your life). During this period, when it is not necessary to strictly follow the diet, oat bran is still used daily, but in the amount of 3 tablespoons, water - up to 1.5 liters per day. Moveable lifestyle and sports will help you much easier to maintain your weight at the proper level.

The Dukan diet, most likely, can be attributed not to diets, but to nutritional systems, especially since it can be followed for several months to six months (or even a lifetime). And for such a long period of time, the body has time to get used to the new diet, ie, normalize metabolism. The most important advantage of this diet is that the lost kilograms do not return. Even when switching to the usual diet, the weight of a person does not increase. It is only necessary to observe 4 simple rules, with which we familiarized you earlier. The practical results of the Dukan diet are confirmed by clinical practice. Data on the stabilization of the achieved weight were grouped taking into account two time intervals: the first - 6-12 months after the diet, the second - 18-24 months. As clinical observations showed, weight stabilization in the period from 6 to 12 months was successful in 84% of cases, from 18 months to 2 years - in 62% of cases. This once again confirms the high effectiveness of the system, because even after two years, most people's weight remained at the level achieved during the diet.
