Would anyone agree that Lucifer is very Pink Diamond coded?

He got shunned and was seen as a trouble maker, like Pink Diamond.

He started a "rebellion" of some kind (giving humans free-will), like Pink Diamond.

And the other Seraphims act as the Diamonds ( G0d as White Diamond)

And Charlie acting as Steven as they're both empathetic and emotional and see beauty everything.

E- Eating dinner

- once you start dating this guy, your expected to be eating with him often. Not expected, more like he moved on pretty fast and wants you too, he won’t force you of course.

-You’d also eat with some of the gems (mainly amethyst) sometimes but not too often.

-I feel like he’s a great chef. I mean we’ve seen the food he’s made before, I wouldn’t turn that down

-Sometimes if he’s feeling romantic he will make some candlelight dinner for you and him, roses and all. But that’s not often due to his tight schedule

G- Getting protective over you

-I feel like he’ll be very protective over you (like most of his friends, but more).

-He’s been through a lot and would rather not lose someone he loves dearly.

-He’ll get protective over you whether it’s another corruption(somehow), or human, gem, (Kevin too) or just anyone that seems like they could harm or take you away

-Of course he’s not some obsessive Yandere boyfriend, he just is worried about you. After all he feels safe and comfortable around you and loves you, he wouldn’t want to have you gone

L- Lounging around on a lazy day

-Rare, but fun. Due to his tight schedule for the week he doesn’t have much time to lunge around with you.

-But it’s fun when he does. You two would just be watching some cartoons he liked as kids and eating snacks (together breakfast/cookie cats).

-Also if you guys don’t want to watch tv then you’d play video games all day long, once pearl had to tell you two to go to bed since you were up till 3am playing the Legend of Zelda together

-Sometimes you’ll just cuddle. Just simply cuddle with a few kisses from time to time.

S- Sleeping over with you

-He was really excited to sleep over with you. He wasn’t the most nervous person about it but definitely a little anxious

-He’s like a big comforting Golden retriever. Hugging him and cuddling him is so comforting and helps you relax. He’s really gentle too

-It was a little awkward at first but you both got use to it after like 2 hours.

-You both will switch beds. Like sometimes he’ll sleep over either you and sometimes you’d sleep over at his place, mainly you like sleeping at his place cause his bed is very comfy*

W- Waking you up

-I think it’s a 50/50 he’s gentle and playful.

-Half the time he’ll gently shake you or kiss you over and over again softly, whispering for you to wake up

-Them other times he’ll scare the shit out of you to wake up, push you off the bed(not to hard), shake you, poke you, and all that.

-Sometimes you actually thank him for waking you up playfully since it really wakes you up for the day, though you definitely rather have Steven’s softer side wake you up

“y’all couldn’t even handle the moral complexities of steven universe”

You've probably seen this type of post make the rounds every so often and either agree or disagree with it. I'm of the former camp and have often pondered some of the reasons why this thesis holds water.

To start, Social Media has really changed the game in Fandom for better and for worst (the latter being too often the case). Namely in how on platforms like Tumblr and Twitter (Musk can shove that X up his ugly a-), we get fun fandom nonsense along with a 24/7 news cycle of whatever's trending.

Which means we have constant intrusion on our timelines about how the geopolitics across the globe are pretty crap. Many of us retweet things we feel may be relevant, especially when misinformation has become a vertiable economy we need to be aware of.

We also have people raising awareness of social issues that our world still endures such as sexism, racism, every kind of bigotry you can imagine. Ironically, this brings about those railling against the notion that they either still exist or need to be worked on at all in a display of said prejudices. #Gamergate didn't just spring from the ether.

Many celebrities of various levels of fame were turning out to be… pretty bad. Social Media would empower them to speak their minds and not all of it was just “their beliefs.”

To keep this focused of when Steven Universe was coming out, the end of the Obama era and Trump planting his stanky ass in the Oval Office, this was when people’s trust in each other was at an all time low.

Hell, I remember when Trump’s campaign and Brexit got many bigots to feel like they can be prejudiced without consequences. Whole reason he made it to the final two at all.

As such, how else would Uncle Andy Demayo come across as anything other than a MAGA hat wearer? How else would the Diamond Authority come off as but the powers that be who “need to be stopped?”

Steven Universe came at a time when fandom was intermingling with the real life. Fans were starting to feel insulted whenever something like fighting the government or interacting with problematic family member wasn’t answered with “Burn it to the ground!”

Notions of compassion to those who are troubled or maybe in need of a shoulder to lean on were disinterpretted in the least favorable light possible. How could SU even humor the notion that narrowminded family members or even people of power could be redeemed let alone humanized?

Essentially, it didn’t speak to the emotional climate at the time for millennials or Gen Z. It’s why we’ve celebrated Big Jack Horner and those who harken back to classic Disney villains. The kind you cheer on to be taken down a peg.

Lily Orchard didn’t start the fire. The flames were already being fanned.

F-Flirting

-Not good not good at all. She has no idea what’s she saying and anytime she says something it’s bad. The worse part is that she has no idea how bad it was.

-She looks for stuff on her tablet to say to you. She thinks their good, but their really not.

-If you flirt with her she’ll either get mad, really flustered , or jealous that you can come up with such great things to say to her.

G-Getting Protective of you

-She’s an aggressive little gremlin, she’s really protective of you. Sometimes when she doesn’t need to be protective of you. Like for example, new things about earth. She’s protected you from a fire hydrant before and that was embarrassing for you.

-She does get protective over you when the Crystal gems come over too. She’s way to confident for her own good. She might end up getting shattered by Garnet one day.

-During battles with enemies, she uses as much metal as she can to surround and protect you.

Y-Yelling at you

-She gets angry pretty easily so it’s easy to get into an argument with her. But full on fighting with yelling and screaming? You’d have to do something bad to provoke that. Most of the time it’s not even you.

-She does get into fights more than most of the gems though. When she does she’s not giving up. She’s like a toddler yelling, except there’s no crying or throwing a fit.

-Peridot may not be able to flirt with you, but she knows how to hurt your feelings. Once she says something awful to you, you can’t take it anymore and just walk off, leaving her one to think and regret what she’s done.

-She’ll go out and find you, apologizing for what she’s done. Once she reasons with you, you two will sit together watching tv or doing another activity to cheer each other up.
