He felt something strange at the sight.

Kazuha and Heizou playing with their (namely, Albedo and Kunikuzushi's) Switch on the floor, Albedo at the edge of the couch working on whatever illustration, and Kunikuzushi himself.

'Being next to someone again... I don't mind it.'

Kunikuzushi wasn't going to pretend he was familiar with any type of companionship. It was by sheer luck that he and Kazuha were paired up for a project together, and it was another dose of luck that he met long term friends because of it, (though Heizou and Kazuha agrees its from 'their intuition' and 'fate' respectively.)

Even as Albedo scolded Heizou for yelling at Kazuha about a blue shell, he burned the image in his memory. His companions... Or friends, some would say, they would be fleeting. Nothing lasts forever, after all. Eventually their paths would diverge.

To treasure the time before they abandon him.

Isn't that what his mother taught him?

Yes, if only he listened sooner... Then he wouldn't have been so distraught when he lost 'them.' And perhaps they never would have had to leave.

'I don't blame them,' he thought. 'The best I can do is hope I've grown enough.'

'So when that day comes... I can finally face them with my truest self.'

With a sigh and a last look at his friends, he went on his phone to open Twitch. Tartaglia and Barbatos were streaming, a couple thousand new followers (which were unfortunately, less than usual), but nothing he was particularly interested in.

Though he had a half a mind to...

He heard your voice almost immediately after, still as lively and sweet as last time. You started off with your usual greeting, wishing him a good day and starting off with informing him of what he missed.

"We just found the desert temple!" You said. "I'm glad you're here, actually– Me and Alatus found a mineshaft, and I could use you as a good luck charm!"

Right before he could hear your reaction or see if you got yourself killed again (dummyx5), Heizou punched his shoulder lightly, looking over at his phone. Somehow, they got Albedo away from his work to play with Kazuha, and they were both playing in silence.

"Kuni, partner!" Heizou said, leaning against his shoulder. "Why don't you join us? We got Albedo away from his tablet, that deserves some recognition, don't you think?"

"Doing something else," Kunikuzushi hummed, waving Heizou away. "You guys have fun."

"You're on Twitch," Heizou pointed out. "My guy, you're already living on Twitch every day."

"My streamer is streaming," He responded. "So shoo for a moment."

"I'm offended!" Heizou said, putting a hand to his heart in mock-hurt. "But alright, alright, just know you won't be choosing the game we play next time. Kazuha wants to play animal crossing with me so you'll take my place, partner!"

As Heizou walked back to the others, Kunikuzushi focused his attention back to his phone. Where 'his' streamer was now on the death screen again, from... Trying to swim in lava!

As you went on with how you were going to do better and not die next time (all while preciously trying to defend your honor) he couldn't help but let out a smile.

'It's always the smaller streamers...' He thought. 'Cute.'

Quite frankly some of y’all are getting too parasocial again, especially with the ‘LGBTQSMP’ stuff. By y’all, I mean the fandom at large, but don’t think I haven’t seen some weird stuff on here too.

Last night on Quackity’s stream, one of the first donos called him a “fruit loop”. And like okay, whatever, that’s bad, but then I managed to find the dono’s twitter literally by accident going through my twitter feed and here’s their reason why they did it:

And that’s really fucking weird! You all see why this is weird, right? And all of the replies to the clip of the dono I found (where I found this person) were all in agreement that this was a funny and totally normal thing to do. But, as I’m sure everyone is aware, this is not, in fact, normal. It’s parasocial as fuck, and it’s weird at best and harassment at worst.

Donation etiquette posts are something that go around the fandom every couple of days, and for good reason. Some people are too goddamn parasocial. You don’t know these people, and they don’t know you. It’s like if you walk up to the cashier at McDonalds and call them a “fruit loop” because you saw her talking to another girl earlier. That’s fucked up. At best, it’s fucking weird to do. At worst, it’s outing/harassment. (Not that I think Quackity is queer or anything, that’s none of my business, and it’s not anyone else’s.)

I’ve seen some weird stuff on Twitter recently. Truthing, really, and that’s something parts of this fandom have struggled with for a really long time. But take this tweet by the same person as above as an example:

There’s a difference between jokes about “haha the qsmp is just a gay dating show and jaiden”, but some people are taking that way too literally. I’ve seen truthing on both the English side and Spanish side of the community recently, and you know that I’m not searching it out for the sake of drama because I don’t speak Spanish. I’ve seen multiple Spanish accounts on Twitter telling people to stop being weird in chat because it’s gotten to the point there that the mods are getting involved (I was watching Roier’s stream last night, and I’m pretty sure I saw this myself in chat.)

Jokes are fine. Fandom jokes are fine. But that’s where the jokes should stay- in the fandom. Yes, Quackity made a joke on day one stumbling over his words and “accidentally” calling everyone his boyfriends. Yes, the Spanish creators are a lot more chill with shipping content than the English ones. That doesn’t mean anything irl. Calling it the first bisexual smp is fine as a fandom joke, but people seem to be considering it truth when, as far as I’m aware, there’s only one actual bisexual on the server, and there’s, I believe, only two LGBTQ+ members. While the default shouldn’t be straight, it isn’t cool to just assume people’s identities, and especially not from what they do in minecraft roleplay. That’s called acting, not real life.

Truthing is dangerous. Anyone older than 16 probably remembers the way Markiplier and Jacksepticeye stopped interacting online entirely, and it’s because truthing and shipping actively damaged their friendship. Dan and Phil struggled with this, too, with them actually being gay but being unable to come out until years after they were popular because of all the truthing going on with them.

It’s dangerous! It’s weird as hell! Not everyone is dnf. Even if their boundaries don’t mention it specifically, it should be common sense not to openly speculate on a cc’s sexuality. It should be even more common sense not to call them a literal slur in their text-to-speech donos because you think it’s “telling the truth”. For a straight person, it’s just uncomfortable. For a queer person not out, it could be dangerous.

As a whole, the fandom has been behaving. We’re just under a week in as of today when I’m writing this, so I guess we’ll have to see what happens next. But please remember to be normal. These people aren’t your friends. You don’t know them. You barely even know their characters right now. So calm down and touch some grass before someone actually gets hurt.

what kind of donation helps you best on twitch? direct dono, subs, or bits? or is twitch's cut the same regardless

Direct donations! Giving directly to a streamer's paypal or venmo or whatever they have linked ( usually below the stream somewhere, rather than connected to the chatbox like subs/bits) will give them the entirety of the donation rather than just a portion. Generally, subs are a 50/50 split, and bits are a 80/20 split (in the streamer's favor, since the donator already bought them) I will never turn down a subs or bits- its very generous of people to give anything, and it would feel very bad to instantly say "hey thanks for the sub i wish you did something else!" (that mindset sucks and i dont think that lmao.) twitch tracks those with engaged communities, and are more likely to be subject to twitch's little experiments with things like "boost trains" (do they still exist?) , and gift subs encourage other users to get engaged. but, at the end of the day a direct donation is the best way to support a streamer! BUT- subs and bits keep your identity private, while a streamer will be notified of a direct paypal donation- you can set a custom screenname to appear with your donation, but whoever you donate to will see your paypal's name in their payment history. Ultimately, I think it comes down to the streamer's size- bits and subs work for me because I'm at a size where I can consistently eek out a payment each month from twitch (it is not a large payment.) but for a streamer smaller than 1k followers, it's almost always best to see if they have a paypal or direct donation link- that way they'll get the money instantly, rather than waiting for the twitch payout each month! This has been a lot of rambling on something I'm still torn on honestly- I might have a different opinion on it in a few months or tomorrow, twitch is just barely profitable for a lot of really talented people, and I just use it as a hobby.

yesterday i was falling asleep while listening to the twitter space and remarking upon how, Different it is to be following a cc that chooses to just ... hang out with his fans. obviously plenty do so on stream, but there's typically a financial benefit to that through donos/subs etc. with spaces and discord podcasts, he's just chatting. reading through what we say and responding. sometimes there are periods of silence while he looks through his phone or works on something else, but he still makes the choice to do so With the fandom, in a way. and there's just something so sweet about that idle companionship from someone who very much does not need to engage with his massive audience in this manner. it's just ... cosy. not overly familiar, but still a pleasant reminder that he actually Likes us beyond simply being numbers to him, yknow?

followup to my last post about Purplecliffe dono on Jaidens Timer stream

You guys are insane seventy one notes and ten reblogs in roughly 15, this is by far my most popular post going off of the rate of incoming notes n stuff. I've had this screenshot saved for awhile now, I kinda figured someone would've figured something out already or noticed it, but looking at the notes that's a resounding no, at least from qsmpblr and i don't have twitter/X/whatever the fuck elon is calling it. I'm gonna take the time to go back though that stream for the timestamp of the dono, as well as keep an eye on the coordinates Jaiden walks thru to get a general sense of where it is if possible. I'll try to do this asap but it's gonna take time, and I might be a little busy so it'll probably be a couple days. My current theory is Purplecliffe probably saw something on someone else's stream that they built? And it could benefit Jaiden in some way during the timer mission? Like weapons or potions? Maybe Bad had a hidden stash of loot or smthn idk. A more unlikely theory is Purplecliffe is working w the qsmp admins and he's leaking things he's not supposed to, maybe the location of a secret fed building or whatever. Could be lore related, could just be Purplecliffe being silly, we don't know and probably never will bc Jaiden somehow missed the dono and it would be considered metagaming anyways. Hi!! I was looking at your v/pngtuber help because I was just thinking of doing something like that the other day! However, I'm confused as to what OBS is? Is it a program to download or something from discord or something else entirely?

obs stands for open broadcast software, and it's a program that helps you set up scenes/an overlay (basically, what your viewers will see when they watch your livestream). it connects to whatever website you're livestreaming on (for example, twitch) and is what sends the info from your computer to the livestream, basically. i might be explaining that completely wrong but it's fine. if i can use it while barely knowing what it does or how it works, so can you!!!!

there are other programs you can use too, but i'm pretty sure obs is the most popular, which means it's the easiest to find tutorials + resources for and stuff.

ANYWAY -- you can just share your screen directly to stream, and that's fine! it's what i did on picarto for a long time. but if you want to add a bunch of crap on TOP of your screen -- like a vtuber model, or an overlay (in streaming "overlay" is used to refer to all kinds of decorative stuff on a livestream besides the main video content, like a background, a frame, a box to show what people are typing in chat, little alerts on who recently subbed or followed, etc), or cool animated transitions when you switch between different setups, OBS is how you handle all that.

here's a screencap from one of my streams as an example:

you can basically think of it as kind of the same as a drawing program -- all of these different parts go on different layers, and then you arrange them in front of or behind each other to get the look you want. maybe i just think this way bc i kind of have a lounge/theatre theme with stage curtains and stuff, but i also kind of think of it as a set for a play or a puppet show.

some of the more interactive stuff in this screencap, like the chat mirror and the little scrolling text that shows recent follow/sub/dono, needs external stuff like streamlabs or streamelements to get set up. this is a lot of text and i hope it's not overwhelming lol -- there is so much stuff to learn when u get into it and for me it was best to just take it one step at a time, so i won't get into that rn. stuff that's purely decorative is easy to try out when you're just getting started, so i recommend focusing on just OBS first!

you do not need to do all this crap if you don't want to! if you want to just use OBS to stream a fullscreen view of your drawing program/etc and put your vtuber on top, that's fine too, and tons of people do that. (a lot of people prefer that, bc it allows the focus to be more on what you're actually doing; cute overlays are fun, but they can get cluttered). but i've ended up finding out that customizing an overlay is one of the parts i enjoy the most, even though it can get a little complicated or tedious sometimes, so i really recommend trying it out. i went through a few much simpler overlays at first to get the hang of it, and i've been slowly adding more stuff as i learn more!

I think it's okay to miss their streams together, like the late-night mining streams or the 2021 irl streams, but there's a point where it gets to be too much.

You can miss things without being invasive of both creators. Same with donos and Tubbo's honesty streams. There's a line between being curious about something, and flat out being invasive.

Going back and rewatching the george stream from earlier, I have to say, his chat, not all but majority seems to only cares about dream. Has anyone else noticed that?

Whenever he streams, majority of the donos and chat and mind you, I'm not going to say everyone because there are people who ask questions directly to him, engage with him and show love for him but today's stream was really an eye opener that majority care about dream and dnf.

Majority of it be asking about future content with dream, what you think dream like about this or that, dnf this and that and I'm like, I understand that he's part of a trio and a pair and it's okay to ask some of these kind a question like future content and sort but some have this obsession over dnf.

I start to feel bad for him because is anyone really here for his content or stream or they only here to see if he mention dream and see if dream is there.

punz loves and respects you more than anyone else. as your boyfriend, he knows it's scary to come out to a large mass of people— so, you two keep your relationship a secret.

punz doesn't care about what people think though. if it was his choice, he'd be flaunting you as much as he could. he only dated the best anyways.

doesn't mean he doesnt flirt with you on stream though: lets the occasional nickname slip out and covers it up as a bit.

the second he sees someone being homophobic in his chat though? they're immediately banned. he doesn't bring attention to the situation, even if it does leave a sour taste in his mouth.

if you happen to see it, and get a bit self conscious, he's immediately telling chat that he has to go.

he's joining you in a voice chat and making sure you're okay. he knows you like the back of his hand though, so even if you try to tell him that you're fine, he doesn't let you get away with it.

again, sapnap does not give a fuck about what anyone thinks. if you'd let him, he'd unapologetically flirt with you on stream. nicknames, flirty banner— anything to hear the laugh leave your lips.

he may still flirt with you on stream though; anything regarding from a bad sex joke to terrible flirting.
