Let's be serious if Emperor's New School aired today ya'll would be flaming Malina so hard, saying she's the devil incarnate just because she has flaws and isn't immediately willing to fall into Kuzco's arms.
I don't blame her because have you seen how this man has acted?
Secondly, she's a perfect foil to Kuzco's manchild like personality, and I love the fact that even though they made her a cheerleader they didn't make her stupid to fit the stereotype.
And it's not like she's unable to stand up for herself since she's always saving Kuzco's ass from Yzma's evil plans.
In a way, they are perfect for each other, Malina is there to keep Kuzco in check and make him act like a grown up while Kuzco is there to kinda teach Malina to let loose and not to put up a wall.
But people would just look at her negatives and take this as her being a bitch and getting pissy just because she's not submissive to Kuzco's bulls**t.
Sorry (Not really) but I support Malina and loved her as a character in the Emperor's New School series, it's a shame that she's not more popular just because she came from a TV series rather than a movie, she was the best part of that series (besides Yzma of course) and deserved her own movie and to be a part of the strong female characters roster that Disney has developed nowadays.
She's like one of the OG girlbosses and idc what ya'll say she was a queen and she served c**t.

Dear Readers!
I found such a shocking story!
You know Kuzco gets quite a few interesting fanfictions right?
Well

Romancing a Spanish girl...
And to think he got super mad around Ramon 🤨

Kuzlina = Tianaveen
Both couples have turned into animals - for Kuzlina, only Kuzco turned into an llama in the movie and would continue turning into different animals in the series, while this occasionally happened to Malina; for Tianaveen, both couples turn into frogs, with Naveen first before Tiana.
Non-white couples - Kuzlina are both Quechua Indigenous; Tiana is African-American while Naveen comes from a fictional country, but it's a popular fanon for him to be Indian
Hard-working, smart, no-nonsense young woman from humble beginnings x Rich, spoiled, slacker young man who gets some much needed wake-up after being turned into an animal
The young men from each respective couple were betrayed by a close advisor - Kuzco was his right-hand and woman who practically raised him and she was the main villain; Naveen's ex-ally was his butler/handler who was seduced by the movie's actual main villain.
The young men have an instant attraction to their respective female love interests and grow to fall even harder for them as their respective stories progresses.
The young men aren't initially impressed with their respective male love interests because of their arrogant, selfish, immature, lazy attitudes. However, as time goes on. each woman falls for their future lover because of their many (and once buried) good qualities and gradual maturity.
Each couple have a number of dance scenes together.
One person of each couple has lost at least one parent - Kuzco was an orphan at birth; Tiana lost her father in (presumably) World War 2.
The female half of each coupling have had friends before their respective male halfs.
Both couples are brunettes.
