I have seen/heard Tim Curry in some of the WILDEST places in my childhood.
I’ve experienced him as…
Long John Silver in Muppet’s Treasure Island (live action, pirate, villain)
Coeur de Noir / Sir William de Noir in The Secret of Moonacre (live action, lord, villain)
Hexxus in FernGully: The Last Rainforest (voice actor, spirit of pollution and death (?), villain)
Drake in The Pebble and the Penguin (voice actor, jock and bully penguin, villain)
Forte in Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (voice actor, a fucking pipe organ, villain)
Ben Ravencroft in Scooby Doo! and the Witch’s Ghost (voice actor, warlock, villain)
The Skull in Bartok the Magnificent (voice actor, the… skull, chaotic neutral?) ((side note: yes, this IS a spin off for the bat that helps Rasputin in the movie Anastasia!))
The Mouse/Rat King in Barbie in the Nutcracker (voice actor, mouse/rat king (duh), villain)
Nigel Thornberry in The Wild Thornberrys TV series (voice actor, kind of a ginger cartoon version of Steve Irwin but more incompetent, chaotic good)
Professor Calamitous in The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius TV series (voice actor, mad scientist, villain)
Like this guy… did he just look at his thriving career and say: I’m going to pick the WEIRDEST POSSIBLE CHARACTERS and make them 100000 TIMES BETTER with my VERY PRESENCE!
Like some of these movies are so niche and unheard of. Why would he ever agree to them?
Because he’s Tim fucking Curry, and he’s amazing. That’s why.

I know I’m a little late, but I would like to say Happy Birthday to Tim Curry who, if my math is correct, turned 77 today! By an amazing coincidence, I watched 2 episodes of The Mighty Ducks (the cartoon from 1996, not the movie) today. It’s getting a little late for anything like the TV mini-series, It or The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but I will be watching A Christmas Carol with Tim Curry since I get to watch, not only one of his more obscure films, but one where he sings so that’s a big win.
Happy Birthday Dr. Frank-N-Furter!

Long John Silver!

Hexxus!

Drake!

And so many more awesome rolls where he didn’t get the chance to show off his singing chops!
Feel free to reblog with your favourite Tim Curry performance, even if it’s already been mentioned, maybe include your favourite scene if you like!

Fairly Village disappears
I can't say whether the fairies picked up and moved on their own, or whether they were rousted by the local authorities. All I know is that the wee ones and their village - pictured here as it stood one year ago - have disappeared without a trace.
This comes after a few years of expansion in Fairyland, which once stood among the palmettos in the narrow patch of dirt that lies between a sidewalk and street along a walking route we often use.
This miniature enchanted forest was a kind of three-dimensional illustration of Grimm’s Fairly Tales - a carefully arranged collection of elves, tiny houses, gnomes, woodland creatures, etc. It had no obvious architect, or owner.
I trust the fairies are happy in their new home, wherever that is.
