to put it simply: life in washington was hard. but ashlyn liked a challenge, so she took everything she could in stride and tried her best to get to know the people and the culture better, even if she was confused half the time doing so. she couldn't deny that while there were a few people from back home that'd miraculously shown up — there'd only been one person she wanted to see. and on a completely ordinary and uneventful afternoon, that's exactly who she saw: maddox park. feeling her heart leap into her throat, she felt compelled to approach the other girl, each step leading her toward who she believed would collapse directly into her arms. "... maddox?" she spoke up, a smile already eclipsing her lips, perhaps a bit prematurely as she awaited her reaction.
