Okay, this is 1600 words of (positive!) meta regarding the OFMD finale. Included is character analysis and a treatise on why a certain trope people keep throwing around does not apply here.
This is of course just my take, and I'm sure people will disagree, but I needed to get this out. Apologies if it comes off disjointed, I've had like no sleep.
Spoilers within, obviously. You have been warned. Heed the tags. I didn't tag any characters because I consider it a spoiler, but you know who this is about.
Listen. Listen.
Let me start off by saying I have been where you are. I’ve had beloved characters die, either because it was important to the narrative or for shock value. I’ve been there, so I’m not coming at this without empathy. I’m not an Izzy hater. I loved him as a character. I’m truly sad to see him go.
But from what I’m seeing around Twitter and tumblr, some of you do not understand the role of an antagonist in a story.
Izzy was always meant to die. The moment he said, in the first season, “the only retirement we get is death,” I knew he was meant to die in the end. The foreshadowing ran through both seasons. Izzy was the true antagonist of S1. He was there to keep Blackbeard tethered when he started pulling away, and yet he also set the plot in motion. He inadvertently introduced Blackbeard to the person who let him be just Ed. He put Ed on his own path to redemption without even knowing it.
S1 ended with Izzy getting what he wanted as Ed lost everything he had. S2 was about Izzy coming to terms with the fact that he’d gone too far, he’d turned Ed into a monster. It wasn’t what he wanted. He wanted Blackbeard back, just like old times. Instead, he got the Kraken, and it was more than he bargained for.
Especially after it cost him his leg and he realized how far gone Ed really was. The conversation that ended with Izzy’s half-assed suicide attempt was the final blow to Izzy—Ed really didn’t seem to care anymore. Where Izzy wanted him to stop giving a shit about his silly boyfriend, he instead got a Blackbeard who didn’t care about anything, and he was apparently now included in that category.
(I said half-assed suicide attempt because Izzy wasn’t meant to die then, THAT would have been an empty, pointless death. It wouldn’t have taught Ed anything—in fact, all it did was make him more self-destructive, which was Izzy’s purpose to the narrative, but not his endgame. That Ed thought Izzy killed himself pushed Ed to the brink. Ed wanted to die and take every scrap of Blackbeard with him. Had Izzy successfully killed himself, Ed and the Revenge would be at the bottom of the ocean.
It wasn’t until the crew left Izzy the unicorn leg that he realized the power of compassion, the incredible act of grace from a crew that suffered so much from Izzy’s own machinations and didn't need to forgive him. It moved him to tears, and it moved him to accept that maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea to let people in, to let himself be cared for. It was a foreign concept and something Izzy likely hadn’t experienced since losing his family (I fully expect a shit ton of fanfic of Izzy’s life before piracy).
Israel Hands found the capacity to let love all the way in and by god, did he pursue it.
But, again, Izzy was always meant to die, and I’m glad they stuck to the narrative they set out with instead of placating fandom and letting our influence dictate how they told this story That’s never good, trust me. Fandom should not influence a creator’s decisions regarding their own characters. It rarely if ever ends well.
[Stares in Voltron S8]
And I see a lot of people out here throwing the “bury your gays” phrase around—I beg you, please look up the definition of the trope. Izzy didn’t die because he was queer, he didn’t die because of his disability. He wasn’t one half of the only queer couple in the show fridged for shock value. He wasn’t killed off due to pressure from conservative viewers. He wasn’t the only queer, disabled character.
They didn’t kill off Lucius, or Jackie, or Wee John. Would you be as outraged if it was any of them?
Killing Eve is bury your gays. Supernatural is bury your gays. Pretty much any film, book, TV show, whatever, where a queer character dies because they’re queer, of AIDs, to further the narrative for a straight person, etc—that is burying your gays.
Izzy’s death was none of those things. Izzy’s death had meaning.
Izzy’s death freed Ed from the Blackbeard persona. It finally forced Izzy to say the things he couldn’t say until he realized it was his last chance. Izzy was also tired. I honestly think he stuck it out for Ed’s sake, because he was afraid to let Blackbeard go without making sure Ed would be ok.
He loved the idea of Blackbeard, but over time, he learned to love Ed. He finally understood what Ed tried to tell him the whole time.
“Fuck off, you twat. You’re surrounded by family.”
You’re safe. You’re loved. You don’t need me anymore. You don’t need to be reminded of who you’re capable of being, you need the people who will guide you to who you will become, and I’m not one of them.
I know a lot of Izzy fans are stung by his death, some of you are deeply upset. I get that. Like I said, I’ve been there. Sirius’s death made me throw that fucking book across the room. That Fucking Woman™ killed off my entire OTP, purely for shock value and, imho, a direct response to shippers. Trust me, I have felt betrayed by a creator for their decisions.
But I need you to understand that no, this was not a personal attack, this was not malicious, this was not “bury your gays." A show that celebrates queerness and diversity is not suddenly homophobic and ableist because your favorite character died and happened to be both of those things. But when the majority of your cast of characters is different in some way, and they’re in a show about 18th century pirates, you have to accept that one of them could, in fact, die. “Anyone Can Die” is also a trope and the more accurate one to describe E8.
If only being queer and disabled made you invincible.
Spoiler alert: it doesn’t.
And no, I’m not an Izzy hater. I loved him, I loved him as an antagonist, and I loved his redemption arc. He was fascinating and Con put his whole O’Nussy into that part. I’m sorry to see him go, but as a mystery writer who often has to kill off beloved characters, I understand that he served the purpose he had from the beginning.
I swear, if some of you had your way, there’d be no conflict at all in any form of media. This what a steady diet of nothing but fanfic gets you. This is not a fluffy one-shot with magical healing dick and a happy ending where everyone sails off into the sunset. If that’s what you wanted, what you headcanoned, you did this to yourself. It’s not David et al’s fault that we took that character and babygirled him. That’s the risk we take when we decide to love a specific character, when we take a genuinely terrible person (in S1) and woobify him.
So, please stop harassing and attacking David, Alex, et al. David did not and should not change his story to placate us. The fact he went ahead with it despite the backlash I’m sure he expected makes me respect him as a creator even more.
Anyway, I’m going to revel that we have three (!) queer relationships with happy endings where one or both didn’t immediately die (again, the actual definition of “bury your gays”) and that we got at least two seasons of a little show that celebrated individualism, diversity, queerness, compassion, and love.
In the end, it all came down to love.
“There he is.”
Goodbye, Blackbeard.
Hello, Ed.

Just wanted to plant an idea if you wanted a bit of fuel: Mahiru asking Yuno to come to her cell before everything goes down.
Edit: I forgot the ask didn't say it but this is part of Kyanako's incredible Order Of Attack AU!
Didn't mean for this to become a mini Mappi study but here we are ✨ Thank you for the request! I fully intended to write them hanging out, but it's more right before they hang out lol. Went a bit on-the-nose with foreshadowing, but isn't that the fun part? It has become Emotional Over Mahiru Hour...
I kept things vague, but TW for mentioning her boyfriend's state of potential self-harm
Mahiru tried not to act superstitious, she really did. As much as she loved the idea of little luck charms, or avoided easy signs of misfortune, it was easier to keep quiet about such ridiculous things.
Maybe catching a bride’s bouquet meant no guarantees; maybe there was no real harm in stepping underneath ladders, maybe a coin tossed into a fountain had no real magic to its wish. However, the one thing she knew for sure held power was a lucky presence. Being in the right place at the right time could alter everything. And today was the right time for something. There was this waiting in the air. The prison had been holding its breath. Mahiru knew it was time to release it all.
“You must be so lonely, why don’t you let big sis Mahiru keep you company?” She beamed at Amane.
She often recalled the good fortune that she and a certain young man had crossed paths on the university terrace. She used to laugh with him about the wonderful coincidence of bumping into each other outside of the bakery, then the convenience store.
Though she’d never spoken about it to him, she was also grateful for many occasions where she walked in on him at the precise moment to talk him out of something reckless. She always told him that they’d do everything together. He didn’t need to be alone anymore.
“I wish to be alone. I need peace of mind to think.” Amane turned away from the cell door.
It was a good thing, too. Mahiru’s smile wasn’t as convincing as she said, “o-oh. Of course.”
She made her way around the panopticon, hearing Fuuta pace his cell in anticipation. He must have felt it too, this holding of breath.
Or perhaps not. He turned down her offer for a bit of company, including a few more colorful words than Amane had. Mahiru just apologized for bothering him and headed back to her cell. She wasn’t sure where Mikoto was at this hour, but she didn’t feel like smiling through a third rejection.
She shook her head back and forth. She wished the motion could rattle the voices inside, she wished she could shake them all away. With her arms secured in place she could no longer cover her ears. She used to hum to keep them at bay, but lately they’d been too loud to stifle. They just kept on talking.
Their words told her the two were right. Nobody needed her company. No – nobody wanted it. Being together hadn’t helped her boyfriend. In fact, being together had been the very thing that got him killed. No wonder Amane and Fuuta wanted to avoid her.
So then, this was for the best. She would rather deal with the brief sting of refusal than stumble in one day to find them hurt… or worse. As much as she tried to avoid the superstition of it all, the voices reminded her that her very presence could mean life or death.
“Mappi, are you alright?” Mahiru hadn’t realized a tear had slipped down her cheek until she hurried to swipe it away in front of Yuno.
“Hah, I’m fine! Just fine.” It was impossible to fool her, Mahiru had learned, but that never stopped her from trying.
At least she always spoke tactfully. “Rough morning?”
Mahiru shifted her arms in her uniform, making a small sound of agreement.
“Can I do anything to help? What if I stay with you for a bit? I can do your hair, and…”
The voices were right. Amane and Fuuta knew it, too. Presences did hold power, and Mahiru’s was cursed.
But she would sound foolish admitting such a fear to Yuno. She'd heard plenty from the voices about how stupid and airheaded she was, there was no use in getting the same lecture from someone as grounded as her.
Mahiru managed a weak protest, unable to explain her real reasoning. Yuno was insistent. She didn’t give much of a choice. Could she feel the strangeness of the prison, as well?
At last, Mahiru allowed her shoulders to sag. Yuno was lucky. And kind. Having her nearby would do her good. Amane and Fuuta would be alright. Mahiru had tried spending more time with them after verdicts were announced. Now, she made a mental note to pull back. If her love couldn’t save anyone, at least she could spare them from her curse. They would be safe.
“Yes. Please stay. The truth is... I don't want to be alone.”
#milgram#mahiru shiina#yuno kashiki#amane and fuuta mentioned#i dont know how well this all fits in with your vision of the au but i had a ton of fun with this lmao sorry 😂#oh hey if anyone knows any japanese superstitions like those in the beginning lmk#i was trying to research them but i kept getting lucky symbols/words - not necessarily actions like that#anyway thank you so much for this!! it was a really interesting moment to capture >:0#drabbles that take me way too long to combine my three brain cells but im really pleased with the end result#i had a lot of Mahiru Thoughts but it took a bit of fiddling to make them fit together#the superstitiousness - the focus on one's presence - the parallels with his bf - what she's dealing with from the voices#im glad it came together semi-smoothly in the end asdfsd#i didnt mean for mahiru t break the fourth wall or anything --#i always saw her as a master at picking up on social changes/cues so she can tell when things are most tense/kotoko is fully prepared#but she doesnt consciously know it -- she just knows that things feel Off#not only do the attacks confirm mahirus fear that shes cursed - but yunos involvement confirms her belief that shes extra lucky#i wonder if shed still end up spending all her time with yuno now that she thought she was such a protective person...#i couldnt articulate it right since the end was wrapping up so nicely - but mahiru starts to wonder if most people are fine being left alon#and *shes* the odd one out for craving company#then she feels isolated because by getting what she wants shes dooming someone else#i mean... if everyone you try to get close to starts getting hurt... wouldnt you worry about the same...?#AHAHAHAHA hope you enjoyed 🙃#*posts this then retreats back into the void for a bit*#drabbles

Anne is such a well constructed episode.  It’s not the best season opener (that’s Bargaining) and it’s not my favorite season opener (probably When She Was Bad), and if you’re feeling cynical you could argue it’s at least partly a pilot for the Angel spin-off series in disguise (since … it is?), but it’s just so well put together and full of so much foreshadowing and symbolism and references to previous episodes.  I really like it and I really liked rewatching it, almost more than I was expecting to.
The last time I watched it I remember being annoyed by the fact it didn’t focus entirely on Buffy in LA.  I thought the scenes set back in Sunnydale were a distraction from her story: I don’t care about Xander and Cordelia’s relationship and I don’t care about the Scoobies' attempt to stake one very obliging random vampire.   And yet, for some reason, this time around I felt a lot better disposed to this half of the episode.  I do still think it would have been interesting to have a whole episode away from Buffy’s friends, and that the Sunnydale plotline is a lot less intense than what’s going on in LA. But I think it’s a mistake to conclude the scenes in Sunnydale are a waste of time or don’t do something important.
The juxtaposition between a Buffyless Sunndale and a Buffy who’s stopped being Buffy felt a lot more deliberate this time around, whether that meant cutting directly to Buffy’s dream about Angel after Willow said she wished she knew where she was, or the way the big, noisy crowd at the first day of school hard cuts to Buffy sitting alone in silence in her tiny rented room, or Joyce asking Giles “and who exactly is she?” right before Lily comes back to the diner to ask Buffy for help.  And, having set up this pattern, the fact that we never once cut back to Sunnydale while Buffy and Lily are trapped in the hell dimension suddenly feels weirdly claustrophobic, and makes that final jump back to Joyce at home at the end work a lot better than it otherwise would.
I also really really like Lily.  As Chanterelle in Lie To Me she wasn’t really given much to do, but Julia Lee is really good here as – not quite a proto-Faith, but another alternate Buffy who’s quietly hinted to have a pretty horrible backstory.  That pause after Buffy asks her “what do they call you at home?” speaks volumes, as does the way she assures Buffy she wouldn’t tell anyone about who she is or where to find her because “I know how it is when you’ve got to get lost”, or how quickly she resigns herself to believing they’re in hell later because she “always knew she belonged here”.
And, almost at the same time, she’s also a great comic foil (asking Buffy if she can “come with her” right after agreeing that they should split up, or coming back to apologize to her when she's meant to be getting away "in case we die").  I love that she gets to push Ken off the balcony mid-speech (in fact, I almost think the episode would be stronger if that really was the last we saw of Ken: I’m not sure his reappearance later just to be killed by Buffy herself really adds much).  And I love the argument about Rickie’s death (that isn’t really about Rickie) that she has with Buffy: “he didn’t do anything wrong, why would this happen to him?” versus “These things happen all the time. You can’t just close your eyes and hope they’re going to go away.”
I really like the fact that Lily (as Anne Steele) goes on to be a minor character on Angel, but I do wish we’d had some hint that Buffy really had stayed in touch with her after this episode the way she promises she will.  Once again I am imploring the Buffy writers, decades after the fact, to please let Buffy have a few more friends.
(Oh, and, look: neither Buffy nor Lily get magically pregnant and die this episode!  The possibility doesn’t even come up!  Maybe this wasn’t a stealth Angel pilot after all...)
And I've not even touched on the wonderfully unsubtle foreshadowing of Ken’s repeated lines about kids “getting old fast here”, or the way this episode almost acts as a proto-Bargaining (with Willow very clearly taking charge of the group in Buffy’s absence, even taking on the Slayer role in the pre-credits scene), or Oz throwing his stake at a retreating vampire and then ruefully noting that “that just never works” as it bounces harmlessly wide, or just how much everyone in Sunnydale seems to miss Buffy in their own different ways, or Larry insisting this is the football team’s year if only they can “keep discipline, maintain focus and not have quite so many mysterious deaths”.  Or that last shot of Buffy back home, and how it’s deliberately framed from her mom's perspective rather than her own.
Honestly, I just think Season 3 is so good and I love it so much (I furiously remind myself, knowing that Dead Man’s Party is up next and will try its best to convince me I’m wrong…)

End of Days
Chapter 1; Part 1
The end did not come quickly. Nor was it an calamitous event being foreshadowed by many. Most would not even realize it was occurring. In fact, there were many weeks still left of existence for a lot of the people of the town. And life went on as usual.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clarissa and Bebe were happily fishing at the Central Park pond hoping to catch enough fish to either sell or to put towards cooking a decent dinner for the five of them. After all, their mind was on making a decent shelter by fall. Phil had dropped off his prized meteorites to Dave Ramsey who was manning the till at the counter as usual at Aleister’s. Phil had managed to get them in before the deadline and hopefully they would all sell, which hopefully would bring in a pretty hefty chunk of change for the group so that they could get started with making the foundation to their new home.
Tumblr media
It also meant that Haruo who was definitively into collecting would also have to get some things started with the gemstones that he already had in his pocket – and some of them as far as River knew were valuable and would give them enough to break ground. As it was, it was going to be slow going and the five were going to be spending the majority of their time outdoors trying to keep from getting soaked when the rains came. The other alternative was to try to go down to the fitness center on the corner of Water Lily and Main or 28 Hour Fitness as it was known and use their showers and try to get some shut-eye indoors so that they didn’t get drenched. Either that or build a lean-to of sorts that they could use in a pinch. Although that didn’t seem like much. Even a glorified shack would do wonders for them. But they needed the simoleons for that and that wouldn’t come easily.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Haruo was currently over at 97 Waterfall Way harvesting some lettuce. Always nice to have greens and lettuce not only did it hold a lot of water, but it was also fibrous too – at least it would keep them constant. Just dig a nice deep hole.
Phil made some grilled cheese sandwiches, a key lime pie and spaghetti for his friends so that they wouldn’t go hungry. Now it was trying to find a table and chairs for them to eat off of.
Afterwards, Phil went off to dumpster dive for items to sell, but unfortunately, there happened to be a freak meteor storm, which ended up flattening poor Kaelynn Langerak ending her life. This would foreshadow much worse to come as the cosmic pummelling would continue.
Tumblr media
Nightfall came very quickly and a last meal was eaten by all before the five headed off to bed, which was essentially pick a spot on the ground and collapse from exhaustion. Considering it rained earlier in the night, which they had to suffer through, not only were they exhausted but wet and miserable too. Even though the rain was warm, it just made things even worse since the night was usually cold and the mornings meant that the temperature dropped even further chilling them right to the bone. But luckily it wasn’t frost but they would have to do something about the fact that they were living in the open and unable to do anything about the weather. They would need to get under some cover.
Tumblr media
The first night was absolutely uncomfortable. For all the appearances of flat ground, there were still dips, rises and indentations in the ground that meant that lying on the ground usually meant that something was going to poke into your back. River’s solution to getting the wind out of her face was to sleep under Haruo’s leg. Luckily he was so exhausted from harvesting wild plants, that he pretty much conked out and didn’t twitch a single muscle. Luckily he also didn’t let loose any gas either – that would have been singularly unpleasant.
End Part 1

anyways here’s a list of checkovs guns in monkie kid that are just waiting to be triggered that i am absolutely terrified of
the lantern. the lantern is literally the only object LBD wanted that we don’t see her actually add to the furnace. i am HIGHLY suspicious of that
the time discrepancy in between Macaque getting attacked by the Mayor and his talk with LBD after the city’s been taken over. there’s at least a time frame of a week or two in between, what the hell happened? did Macaque manage to escape the Mayor’s grip and tried to run? did he get put in a small pocket space? did the Mayor bring Macaque back down to the underworld to store him, and while for Macaque it was only a few hours, for the mortal realm it was 2 weeks???? many unsolved questions there
Sandy still has a leaf of the Crimson Jimson Weed. yknow. the plant that’s meant to be able to cure anything. I understand him looking at the final leaf all concerned was probably meant to be him worrying about Huntsman, and that he’s keeping the final leaf as like, one of those dried bookleaf things, but also??? thats an incredibly important magical item and im terrified of what situation may come up that Sandy would feel the need to use it
the other powerful weapons shown by PIF in Coming Home, we’ve seen almost all of them actually appear in the show which means it’s probably foreshadowing. I’m a lil concerned about that. I may be misremembering, but wasn’t the snare that was used to capture Wukong one of the objects shown??
Macaque never returned the energy he took from MK, MK just summoned up more energy from within himself. Whatever that glowing energy was, Macaque still has it (if my theory that it’s only magic that’s keeping him alive is correct, then maybe it’s possible having some of Wukong’s magic is what’s stabilizing him??)
the circlet in general tbh. it appeared on MK’s head in the pilot (mainly for aesthetic reasons), but i’m mainly worried about how ridiculously inconsistent it is in flashbacks. not to mention the fact that nobody’s brought it up... it’s a major part of Wukong’s whole story, the fact it hasn’t been talked about at all is very suspicious
speaking of major parts of Wukong’s whole story, I’m also shocked no-one’s brought up the fact that Wukong got trapped under a mountain. MK’s “the time you picked a fight with Buddh-” was the closest we got to any mention of it, which, to me, implies they’re saving that tidbit for a more important reveal scene later on, which....yeah thats a lil worrisome. what would be a situation in which that factoid would need to be dropped if it hasn’t been dropped before?
part of MK’s power is still sealed. we’ve never seen him break the seal Wukong put on him in Bad Weather, and there really hasn’t been any discussion of the fact that what we see isn’t the full extent of MK’s abilities since then. what will it be like if that seal breaks?
whatever the fuck is up with MK in general tbh we all have to admit something aint right about this man

Brickclub 5.1.10 “Dawn”
We move suddenly back to Cosette, who’s just waking up. She knows nothing of what’s going on--she was in her room when Toussaint said there was fighting, she assumes her father is in bed asleep, and Marius never mentioned anything about the barricade. Marius visited her in a dream as an angel, which may have something to do with how close to death he is. She believes it’s impossible that he won’t come, and soon.
She has the same instinct he does that it’s impossible that they should be apart, but he can only picture death and she can only picture life.
I used to get a lot more frustrated with this chapter--all Hugo’s saying “we dare not describe a maiden bedchamber” while describing a maiden bedchamber, and the disconcertingness of the very 19th century idealization of “modesty” that leaves teenage girls literally afraid of their own skin.
Along with the idealization of her ignorance.
Plus, it breaks my heart a bit that she’s beating herself up over not remembering what Marius said, when Marius was, in fact, being really manipulative, scary, and intentionally vague.
But reading her as having been in danger earlier changes a lot of what this all means for me. I’m still not clear on what form that danger might have taken; I agree with others Marius wasn’t planning to murder her--he was planning (or “planning”; there wasn’t much of a plan involved) a suicide, he was showing up at her house to meet her, he had two loaded pistols--I don’t know where things would have gone. And there’s something in this text about murder and Marius; there has been since Javert gave him the two pistols, in fact--because it was after that when he started hanging around the Field of the Lark, where the goatherd Aimée Millot was murdered in 1827 by a man apparently in love with her.
The fact that Cosette is hopeful and innocent, even now--especially now--feels important, and like a respite. It’s also amazing from a character perspective: as Pilf has been outlining lately, her life has been hell almost from the beginning, and most of the bright bits in it can be measured in weeks. The fact that her default in times of uncertainty is faith, hope, and life is incredible.
And Marius’s two pistols--I wonder how much it matters that they were a gift from Javert, or rather I wonder what that means--are discharged and discarded. Eponine stole the death that might have been meant for Cosette. Whatever has been foreshadowed, Cosette is safe from it now.
And that’s what we’re seeing here: her hopes for the future are unblemished. The dawn that the barricade is fighting for was only a time of day a few chapters ago, but here we see real dawn. Cosette, who seems to symbolize France, or else its future republic, still looks to the future, and is blinded by light. She’s just now awakening, and still very young.
This moment when Cosette awakens occurs, we’re told, at exactly the same moment that Lesgle says:
“It is immoral that a mattress should have so much power. Triumph of that which yields over that which thunders. But it is all the same; glory to the mattress which nullifies a cannon.”
I don’t know quite how to put them together--tonally they’re obviously very different, and the text doesn’t want to juxtapose her with sex jokes too directly--there’s a chapter break in between, anyway. But she’s certainly that which yields, versus the barricaders who are that which thunders.
DOES she triumph? Not at the moment, clearly. Are we supposed to think there’s a moment in this book that she triumphs? I deeply hope not, because the ending of this book is horrible for her.
I’m not putting together clearly what all this means.

Well, finished reading Marcy’s Journal and I’m not entirely sure how to feel about it. There were some parts I really liked, some parts that hurt with the foreshadowing (basically 99% of the Andrias-related parts), and then parts that felt kinda dragging. I’ll go into a full depth spoiler review under the cut here.
So, parts I liked. The parts involving Andrias all hurt, but were great. I liked seeing Marcy get to build up her own crew in Newtopia (though now I’m sad that they’re also included in the goodbyes the trio never got to have). All the entries involving characters reuniting were great too. You could really feel the excitement of them being back together.
I love seeing more of Marcy’s autistic traits (maybe she wasn’t initially meant to be autistic, but as an autistic person, she just spoke to me this entire book). Her not liking the texture of eggs, how she doesn’t really let her geek flag fly even with Sasha and Anne, her wishing she was better at people, her clinging to Anne and Sasha because she doesn’t think anyone else would really give her the time of day, it all speaks to the neurodivergent experience.
I liked seeing more of Anne’s thoughts regarding Sasha and Marcy in 3A, especially that one where she felt really desperate and was talking in all caps about how no one else was understanding how bad it was and how she was the only one who could save everyone. I wish we could have gotten like a whole episode on that in place of one of the “Wacky Adventures on Earth” eps.
The story of Anne and Marcy’s first meeting, oh my god, it was so cute! Just little Anne and Marcy at the beach trying (and failing) to protect Marcy’s giant sandcastle 🥺
The True Colors entry was heartbreaking. The hurried handwriting showing Marcy’s turmoil, the darker spots where tears had previously fell, the charred portions of the page, the “WHAT have I DONE?”, the last words that Marcy would write in that journal until after the invasion just being “I’m so sorry” in such small text...
That entry freaking got me.
But I guess onto the not so positive parts.
We still know hardly anything when it comes to Marcy’s or Sasha’s family life. On Sasha’s side, we know that Sasha’s parents both have different partners now and and one of those partners also has kids. Not really anything on which parent she’s living with, the custody situation in general, or the family dynamics. But I can understand the book not going into it much since it was in Marcy and Anne’s point of views, not Sasha’s.
On Marcy’s, we know they held off moving until Marcy came back, had a birthday celebration for Marcy’s 13th, and that they cried when reuniting with Marcy. That’s it really. Given that this was Marcy’s journal and the majority of it was in her own point of view, I expected at least a few more hints.
Then there was the sorta “Episode Commentary” effect once we got to the point in the series where Marcy and Anne reunited. At first, it was kinda nice getting to see Marcy’s (and later Anne’s) inner thoughts to the plot at hand.
But after a while (probably partway through S2B for me), it was just feeling a little repetitive. And I was definitely feeling tired of it through a good chunk of the S3A bits.
This “Episode Commentary” feel was at its most obvious for me with the S3 entries Anne wasn’t in. 3x07b aka the one where Marcy was possessed? She just happens to be thinking a lot about Marcy then. 3x16b with the Andrias backstory? Now, Anne’s wondering exactly what his deal is and how he became the way that he is.
I’m not saying that either of those entries were bad (I actually liked both of them), but it’s definitely evident that they put those entries at those spots to act sort of like a placeholder to the fact that Anne doesn’t appear in those episodes and thus doesn’t have a POV to share.
I wish there was more sort of “between the episodes” type content where we could hear more about the adventures that might have happened off screen. That’s what I loved about the first arc in the book, it was almost all new content to us. Names and faces that we either hasn’t seen or had, but barely knew anything about. It gave new depth to the world of Amphibia and its characters.
If not that, then perhaps piggybacking off of events in canon. Like, we know Anne sent those letters to Sasha and Marcy’s parents, maybe there would have been an entry where they got the letters and talked to the Boonchuy parents about it and then Anne’s parents talk about it with her. Still goes with canon while giving us more new content.
Overall, I liked the book. I don’t regret buying it and I raced through it in like two hours. But I do get the same vibes from it that I got from Amphibia S3: it had the potential to be great, but turned out to be simply good.
That’s just my two cents though.

This might seem weird, but I knew that Taylor and buck weren’t right for each other when he, through out much of their relationship, was kind of an alright bf lol. Following to Oklahoma aside, he wasn’t really Buck. He kind of was just there? And when looking back I was like oh yeah no if this was actually the relationship for him he wouldn’t be like this. He’s extra as hell and is a very bright and loud (not just like vocally but just personality) and he would not be able to shut up about the person he’s with but in like all the best ways. Like I do not agree with him cheating right because that’s such a shitty thing to do, but it really did show the fact that this was not it for him because Buck imo wouldn’t just do that to someone that he was all in for. So yeah kind of a rant. I used to really like Taylor before they started writing her weird lol. Like I wished she had stayed the bitchy reporter that they might run into from time to time. It also could’ve been that her and buck were kind of chill fwb and there were no feelings at all. Just physical attraction and that’s all it was 😂
ok these are all GREAT points and i agree and i want to address two things with comparison to abby (mostly bc she’s our only frame of reference here):
a) yes the cheating was shitty you are absolutely right!!! but i want to make it clear it also was very much used as a device to show the audience something was Not Right with buck and his relationship with taylor; i saw a lot of people calling it “out of character” (which is. a whole essay for another time lmao) but the truth is it was so obviously meant to be because the buck we know and love now, our buck 2.0+, would never cheat on someone he truly, really loves. and here we bring abby as an example: she wasn’t even there for the better part of a year, their communication was rocky and she was sending every signal that she’d ended things, and he still refused to cheat on her/find another romantic partner until he properly ended things with her. because he promised her he’d be right there when she came back. that man, my friend, actually loved abby!! as much as some people hate their relationship, that much is true, given actual explicit canonical evidence
and b) to your point of him following her to oklahoma being the only Big Gesture comparable to the Boyfriend Buck™ we know and love: that wasn’t even his first instinct!! like!!! had he loved her/cared about her the same way he would have gone without a second thought despite her insistence. instead, he had to figure out through context clues during their calls that’s something he should do if he cared about her. like — just look at his first instinct when abby said she was leaving. he was understanding. he was sad, but he was excited for her. he dropped her off at the airport. he promised her she wasn’t leaving anything behind. versus the late reaction to following taylor?? to realizing what that trip could mean for her?? and he tripped over his words when he first talked to taylor on that trip, versus knowing exactly what to say to abby. idk, man. i feel like that also falls in the the sussy foreshadowing category you’re talking about
anyway this got long and rambly but what i am saying is: no matter which way you look at it, the show explicitly told us time and time again buck was not invested in this relationship. was it annoying to watch for a lot of us??? absolutely. was it still a realistic portrayal of someone clearly forcing themselves to be with someone because they’re afraid of being alone?? also absolutely

Inside FTWD, S7 - Special
I wanted to do a quick mention of a 30-minute special that's on the app called Inside Fear the Walking Dead, Season 7. There was one of these for TWD S11 as well, which I talked about HERE. We can file this under, “not terribly groundbreaking, but confirmation of what TD has been saying for a long time.”
And honestly, most of it, while interesting, isn't very TD related. Two thirds of it is just about the Fear storyline, about Strand vs. Morgan this season, about Alicia losing her arm, etc. And some of the things they emphasize, such as Alicia being bitten, could be considered TD themes, in that we think they’re foreshadows of things pertaining to Beth and the CRM war. But I mostly want to talk about a small segment of this special.
Tumblr media
First of all, it talks about the fact that in Fear, they used radioactive walkers as "dirty bombs." I gave you @wdway’s thoughts on this yesterday. She talked about how it would be very interesting if the new weapon that CRM develops for the future is to use radioactive walkers as a weapon. We’ve already seen that happen on a small scale in Fear because Arlo’s people used a trebuchet to launch radioactive walkers into the Tower. So, they were dirty bombs. We feel like that's a foreshadow of something we may see more of during CRM war, and this special talks specifically about that, which feels like a confirmation to me.
Tumblr media
Then the special started talking about crossover characters and the CRM. They mentioned characters like Morgan, Sherry, and Dwight, who came from the regular show and crossed over to Fear. And then they talked about how we saw the CRM in the regular show, taking Rick away, and then Al met Isobel, and of course in TWB, we saw a lot more about CRM.
They talked about how doing these cross-references and connections between shows takes a lot of careful planning.
The show runner talked about how when they do stories that touch other parts of the TWDU, they have to touch base with every show runner from each of the series, and everything runs through Gimple.
For example, they mentioned that what is happening in TWB is actually years ahead of what is happening in Fear. So, they had to make sure that the nuclear explosion they did wasn't gonna mess up anything in the future timelines.
Tumblr media
Then Lennie James says something very interesting. He says, (and I paraphrase) that Gimple has a very clear image of what the CRM is, but they're doing, and how he wants to reveal it.
I know this isn't terribly groundbreaking because it's something I've been saying for years. But it's just confirmation that everything is planned, that everything has been planned for years, and that Gimple and Kang are at the helm of this and making sure that all the details stay very continuous within different parts of the universe. They know exactly what story they're going to tell and have been setting up for it for a long time.
Tumblr media
I also noticed that they emphasize things like Alicia being bitten and a scene where Al asked Isobel about what three circles of the CRM meant. I won’t go into too much detail about those, but again, it seems they were emphasizing them and wanting us to remember them.
So that's pretty much it. As I said, nothing terribly groundbreaking. But it's interesting to have confirmation on things we've been saying for a long time. And while this is more focused on the CRM and is kind of Beth-adjacent, keep in mind that she’s very tangled up with the CRM story line, because of Grady. And we all know Bethyl has been planned since at least S4, if not S3.

Week 10 Blog
Sold
Patricia McCormick
Pages read: 140-170
Word Count : 368
Summary (114):
In this section, we get to see Lakshmi interact with other members of the Happy House. She is seen talking with Shahanna about some more rules about the place and on what she should be doing. One of the things that they talk about is the ability to have a child and how almost everyone there still wants to have the ability to have a child. Lakshmi has also seemed to take an interest in a boy who wears a David Beckham shirt. Eventually, the boy notices that Lakshmi is staring at her and gives her a picture book that she has been playing with. The boy also starts to teach Lakshmi some Hindi.
Critical Analysis (116):
Mccormick’s inclusion of the quote "And then he is gone. Leaving me to consider how long it has been since a tomorrow meant anything to me" goes to show what being in the Happy House has done to Lakshmi. The fact that she has had nothing to look forward to shows just truely how miserably she is. This quote can also be seen as a type of foreshadowing. McCormick might be alluding to the fact that eventually, Lakshmi will have her old life back and might be able to enjoy the rest of her life. It does seem like she will never forget about this place and the effect that it will have on her life.
Personal Response (138):
This section of the book was alright to read. It wasn’t really the most interesting thing to read as all we really got were some rules for Lakshmi to follow and on some more character building. We get to learn more about what seems to be a main character with it being the David Beckham boy. It seems that he is going to play an important role in the rest of the story. We already see how Shahanna is a good influence on Lakshmi and now we will see how David Beckham affects her time in the Happy House. Like I said before, out of all the sections, this part was the most boring and least interesting. The ending has some hope that the next part will be better with us seeing a possible new relationship being built.

Can C!George Predict Events Through His Dreams?
A quick little theory I have.
-
The famous George lore, we love to see it.
Today, BadBoyHalo waited for George to wake up so he could log onto the DSMP to participate in the Red Banquet:
Tumblr media
However, we notice that George plays no significance to the Banquet, so why did they feel the need to wait for George to be able to be there? What was the reason?
I think I know.
Remember when George had his first dream we saw?
In that dream, BadBoyHalo threatened to kill George and Niki over the egg. DreamXD was able to save them from Bad.
Now, let’s look at today’s events.
BadBoyHalo was going to kill everyone who was there, including George and Niki. Just like the dream.
Tumblr media
In addition, Georges dreaming lore stream ended with Quackity.
Quackity also ended the Red Banquet.
Tumblr media
One difference, is that DreamXD did not show up to protect George like he did in Georges dream.
Now, how does this prove he can predict events?
Well, he was able to dream about BadBoyHalo killing him over the egg, and the same thing happened in reality.
Furthermore evidence consists of the lore that concluded Georges anniversary stream. In this dream, Dream escapes prison, and Karl tells George that he is a time traveler. Sapnap takes Georges shield, and George is happy that Dream is with him.
How did George know about Karl being a time traveler in his brain? Karl has never told George anything about it. Could this be foreshadowing that George could have something to do with Tales From The SMP lore? After all, foreshadowing and symbolism is a huge factor of Georges lore. For example, his shield, and him standing outside the prison for “no reason.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m only saying, if Dream escapes the prison, and George is one of the people Dream relies on, George most definitely can predict things.
However, Sapnap, in Georges dream, did kill Dream when he said he has escaped the prison. How would George have known that Sapnap told Dream he would kill him if he escaped?
George lore is being built up. Foreshadowing, and symbolism are genuinely present, and they wouldn’t be doing this if it were nothing.
Something is going to happen with George.
We’ve always thought about how George never showed up to events because Dream told him nothing was happening, or he simply slept through it.
But, what if he truly just knew things could go wrong, so he didn’t even bother?
BONUS:
Here’s George, looking sad as everyone laughs at Dream being in the prison:
(He was not afk, he was moving from side to side)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*UPDATE
BadBoyHalo CONFIRMED on his stream last night (April 28th) that is WAS, IN FACT, IMPORTANT for George to be at the banquet. He also cleared up that George wasn’t actually late, Sam was.
Also, during Sapnap’s one year anniversary stream, George did say he had something planned for George Lore. This could easily just be a joke, but keep it in mind that George wasn’t late to the Banquet stream and was meant to be there.

Straight Venomous Ch.5
A/N: Short lil sum to keep y’all fed feedback is always welcome hope ya enjoy
A/N: Edited 1/11/2023 I gots to stop posting shit at 3 AM bec my eyes don’t be working anyway I made a small change at the end to make it flow better and corrected some spelling errors if I missed any no I didn’t 🔪🖤
Bruce Wayne knew people, he understood them in a way most others couldn’t. At least not without serious work, if he put his mind to something it was only a matter of time before it played out exactly as he wanted, he could count on hand the times he’d failed and it wasn’t a brag, but rather a simple fact. Predicting behavioral patterns came with the job, and he was very good at the job.
If you could recognize the pattern it wasn’t hard to predict the next move, and Damian was no exception to this rule.
He was hungry for validation, recognition, and glory, but also knowledge. It unnerved the younger man to be in the unknown. Getting deep beneath his skin, Bruce understood if he waited long enough his prideful heir wouldn’t be able to help himself and investigate you on his own. It was both a test for you and his son, a test of patience.
How would you conduct yourself when facing a brute like Robin? What would Damian do when faced with a stronger opponent? These pressing queries held his mind in a vice-like grip, the hunger pain that sat heavy in his stomach wouldn’t be quelled until he got those answers.
And he found those answers faster than he thought.
You were street-smart, calculating, and careful, so he knew the only way he’d get you to reveal yourself was through provocation. This is where Damian came in. Bruce stood within the shadows of a nearby building, watching the interaction with hawk-like attention,  ready to pounce the moment either of you got out of hand.
When the time came thankfully neither of you questioned his sudden appearance, seemingly grateful for the interruption, at least you were, Damian looked like he was about to lose it. Bruce took a silent joy in the way you subtly shifted behind him. Damian clearly made you uncomfortable despite the power difference, while he had you in experience and strategy you outclassed him physically, in ways even Bruce didn’t fully comprehend.
Yet.
So you could change form, a stronger faster, truth be told frightening form, but nothing he hadn’t seen before.
You were burdened with this incredible responsibility at such a young age, clearly, you had no idea of your full capabilities and he was itching to be the mentor you so obviously needed, the hesitation and anxiety you displayed made it all the more clear to him, you needed help, someone with the proper experience and strength to guide you along the right path.
It's been hours since the interaction but you still held firmly in his thoughts. A huff of air escaped the quiet man, the bright screens before him bathed his skin in an eerie glow, the atmosphere was usually dark as ya know, he works in a cave, but there was a particular heaviness hanging over him like a water balloon resting on a tack, all it takes is the slightest nudge, and he’d be drenched in it, soaked in the dangerous feeling, like a storm foreshadowing its destruction, his blue eyes were tired, the job added 50 years to his expressions alone, and after a nearly 12-hour patrol, he’d earned at least a wink of rest. Everything in his body urged him to take a break, but he couldn’t. Not when you were dangling in the jaws of a wolf, it took him maybe five minutes to find out where you worked, more specifically who you worked under, Oswald had been a thorn in his side since he’d first dawned the cowl, it been a long while since he’d tried anything but silence from that man was never a reason to relax. He was as grimy as they came, and would double-cross anyone who stood in his way if it meant getting what he wanted. The balloon burst the moment the information entered his brain. You were so misguided, too trusting of such a vile human, and without considering your wants and needs he quickly decided you’d be his latest project protégé.
After all, he’s trained his fair share of heroes, and you’d be the newest success. He could see it now, he’d study your condition whilst instilling his sense of justice along the way, and you’d appreciate his tutelage and thrive under his care and guidance. You were already so incredible despite the circumstances surrounding you, but if you continued on your path alone he was sure you’d cross the point of no return, he needed to get to you before Gotham did and you killed someone. (OhBrucieYouHaveNoIdea)
Meanwhile, some floors above him the youngest Wayne paced tracks into the floor of his gym. Yeah his, because the brat refused to use the one in the cave at the moment.
Damian spent the rest of the evening following the altercation silently, and violently, fuming to himself. Usually, whenever something managed to wriggle its way under his skin, he’d take it out on one of the poor training dummies stationed below his home in the Cave but that’s where his father was and right now he’d only make the bitter heat in his belly burn hotter. That same heat remained in the shape of your hands, how easily you subdued him had a permanent scowl on his flushed skin. He subconsciously traced the places you’d touched him hours ago.
The very fact that he was irritated enough to still be thinking about you disturbed him to his very core. It wasn’t fair you walked away without a scratch (he seemed to have forgotten nailing you with a Batarang) while he was left feeling... whatever this was.
There was anger for sure, anger at you for existing and daring to involve him in it, and anger with himself for letting you get the drop on him like that. It soothed his rage to think about your rematch, sure you didn’t know about it yet, but come on like he’d let things stay where they were. He was definitely taking you down.
The simple fact that you’d burrowed into his brain like the roach you were had him putting his all behind the punches he threw, each hit shaking the bag enough to jolt. if the training equipment in this gym could talk- it wouldn’t because he’d have already broken its jaw
The rage he felt towards the beast made sense, he couldn’t quite place where the rage at his father came from, perhaps because he’d sat on information? That must be it. Surely it has nothing to do with him interrupting the two of you, surely.
One would think after 200 hundred crunches and an accompanying set of push-ups he’d have cooled off enough to stop shaking but that wasn’t the case, it felt, almost like a wasps nest had formed deep within his gut, a painful headache begging to thrum against his skull, unnerved with the idea of not knowing where and what such a dangerous being was up to. You could be doing anything to anyone, with anyone, if one of the more screwed up freaks in town caught the slightest whiff of what you could do- a sigh deep from his chest came out, you still wouldn’t leave his mind, his pulse began to climb, that burning intensity in your eye was locked in his memory like a screenshot.
He was certain if his father hadn’t appeared you would have battled it out until one or both of you collapsed, The thought of ending you left a bitter taste in his mouth, it be an insult to his honor as a warrior to do so when you weren’t giving your all. He wasn’t a man to back down from a challenge and this was the biggest one yet. With a grunt he returned to dog-walking the punching bag, the strikes never losing momentum.
Somewhere across the water sat an equally dangerous man with equally dangerous ideas beginning to sprout
Dick sat at his desk, unable to tear his gaze from your blurry picture. Something about those eyes held him in place, he was afraid to think about how long he’d been sitting there, staring, and it was not like he had the time to waste. People always needed saving and he couldn’t afford to investigate your not-so-cold case any more than he already had.
It wasn’t his business anymore, sure it started on his turf but once he realized you were a local from his hometown he had no choice but to share it- share you- with The Bat.
It wasn’t like he hadn’t solved harder cases on his own, and he wasn’t too proud to ask a more seasoned professional his opinion when stumped, yet here he was, eyes still tearing into every grainy frame the surveillance video had to offer despite having handed the case over a few weeks ago. Something had settled in his gut. A feeling he was all too familiar with at this point, and if he was a better man he’d feel at least a little bad for his actions, but he wasn’t, and he didn’t.
See what he was, was an honest man, and honestly? You were captivating. Absolutely, wholeheartedly captivating. Dick was no stranger to attraction, he’d mastered the art of seduction and romance wasn’t a strange concept. He’d had little fixations before, and it never take him long to get the girl or guy whichever he was in the mood for, and his brain would quickly move on to the next thing. That was the usual routine.
But you were anything but usual.
And this time it wasn’t doing that last critically important part. Like he forgot how to move on. He didn’t know what he wanted from you, only that you plagued his consciousness since he’d intercepted that robbery. He didn’t tell Bruce about the dead man left at the scene, a petty part of him was all too eager to leave him in the dark, after all what kind of ‘world's greatest detective’ would he be if he couldn’t solve this one? And a small dark voice in his mind was sure the bastard had it coming for trying to harm you, those guns they had certainly wouldn’t have just tickled.
As he let himself relax in the worn chair he rested on, his thoughts also relaxed, and the wave of contradicting emotion washed over him. There was the curiosity, of course, all the burning questions he had for you, the genuine desire to head to your place and apologize- for what he had yet to figure out. Then there was the churn of guilt.
He felt at fault for whatever happened that night, the weight of not getting there fast enough was heavy on his scared shoulders. Of course, he felt bad, and that was obviously the reason he couldn’t seem to shake you. Had he moved a little quicker you’d never have gotten mixed in with his little community of local vigilantes.
Oh? Maybe not?
The ding that had interrupted his troubling inner monologue was a simple picture from Tim.  He scrunched his face at the bright screenshot he’d had been so kind to shoot over, You lived with Jason? Of all the people, he scoffed at the image sending a quick thank you to Tim, the younger male had a soft spot for the first Robin so he’d agreed to his request on you easily, maybe a little too easily. Had his mind been any clearer he might have been concerned with the amount of information Tim had on you. Instead, he wondered if you knew about Jason’s job. Of course, you did, you were a smart girl, after all, his smart girl.
He cracked his neck, fingers twitching at the thought because even if you did know, clearly you didn’t understand the danger you were in, he was almost certain you were a meta but the how's and why’s of it all weren’t all too concerning. No, what worried him was your obliviousness.
You lived with him. And yeah it had been a few years since he’s seen his successor, but time couldn’t change the kind of broken Jason was. He had a temper and a tendency to act without thought, why else would he move in with a civilian? You had no idea just how much danger you were in simply by sharing a roof with the man. It was idiotic to think he could protect you-if the thought even crossed his mind that is. He scoffed bringing his now cold coffee to his mouth before setting it back down. His dark brows furrowed at the thought.
He could do that, protect you properly. The way you deserved. He owed you that much. He resigned himself to his poison and snatched up his phone, the person on the end answered almost immediately.
“Hey Timmy, you still staying in Gotham right? S’Cool if I come crash a few days?”
While those three dangerously deluded fucks individually plotted to ruin your life, the fourth was currently trying to squeeze information out of you, as he’d come home with lunch for the two of you only to find you halfway out the door, a sloppily put up bag of clothes strapped across your back.
”Jay I have like 2 seconds what do you need?” You all but whined out, half your shit was in bags the other was in the dumpster outside your apartment. Oswald was very specific on how and when you’re to arrive at your temporary home, you had a very small window to time to get to the meeting spot and were allowed one bag of personal items, all of which would have to be thoroughly searched.
Oswald genuinely scared the fuck out of you, sure you could probably kick the shit out of the guy in a fist fight but the sheer joy on his face when he spoke of revenge and how much pleasure he got from the suffering of those who annoyed him and his overall vibe was one not to be fucked with. Throughout your frantic packing, the Symbiote was kind enough to narrate just how long you had left, taking a sick sense of joy at your irritation. ‘With three minutes on the clock and a Man-Thing in the way? Will the human make it?’
You were one minor inconvenience away from losing it but no one needed to know that, and as pretty as Jason is he was very much being that inconvenience right now.
”What’s going on you’re packing your shit? You also look like you’re about to shit so take a breather- maybe I can help.”
He spoke gently like he was talking to a scared animal, honestly not that far off from your current state.  “I’m moving out for- fuck if I know, but look I promise I’m gonna be okay so don’t worry.” You gave him a tight smile and went to move around him, black tendrils began subtly gathering around any and all items of yours it could find, a brush here, towel there the batteries to the remote, Jason quickly put his hands on your shoulders forcing you to pause.
”Someone after you? You’re running from somethin’ sweetheart, that much I can tell.” One corner of his mouth lifted into a worried smile, the seriousness in his eyes unsettled you, but this was Jason, so you buried the unease as soon as it appeared.
”Jay-“ you paused wracking your brain for the right words to get you out the door. Your hands found their place on top of his, gently running your thumb against his battered knuckles. “Thank you for worrying about me but you don’t need to! I ain’t running nothing but my mouth you know me,” you felt the weight of the items in your bag reach a point where no more would fit, Venom seemed satisfied with his scavenger hunt, all too eager to remind you of your ever-diminishing time limit. ‘The bird man will yell at us if we’re late (Y/n).’
’and if he hurts my feelings I’m eating his insides.’
your eye twitched at the threat while you wracked your brain for the magic words to move the wall of muscle blocking your swift getaway.
”I just need to get away for a while- just clear my head.”
His face was the kind of scary still you’d only seen a few times. The stone-cold look didn’t match the heat in his hands, which are now gently covering your own, he gave a soft squeeze as he spoke. “Slow down for me.” His tongue flicked out over his bottom lip nervously, “Is it- you leaving cuz that shit with me and Roy? Listen I get why you’d be scared but I’ll never let anything happen to you- I’d rip the world apart before I let that happen.” His grip tightened slightly as his words continued. The conviction in his words made your hair stand on end.
”I’m sorry if I scared you but I’d never bring that shit home- just talk to me don’t run away- please.”
You could hear the hand of the clock in the kitchen ticking away, the sweat had begun to build on your brow, and trying your hardest to stay focused, because the second You loosened your grip Venom will take the wheel, he didn’t do it often but whenever your stress levels would rise to a certain point, You’d take a backseat and let him drive the boat. And he drove that boat right into the wall.
You had Jason’s collar in a vice, yanking the larger male down to eye level in an unforgiving grip, “I’m only gonna say this once pretty boy- Stay away from us- last thing we want is to mess up that mug eh?” Venom spoke, white clouded over your eyes, Jason seemed to be taking in your splitting smile when you pushed away from him.
”See ya when I see ya Red.”
Your body threw itself out the open window, only after tossing your bag unceremoniously first of course and before he could try to chase you, you were gone.
You sighed deeply once you were in the car, finally relaxing your shoulders at the thought of your troubles being behind you.
Only they weren’t behind you, oh no love they’re all around, the first domino had fallen, the wolves were closing in, five different individuals have already started down this blood-soaked path, and Gotham had suddenly become five times more dangerous.

𝑛𝑖𝑔𝘩𝑡 𝑐𝘩𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑠 ➤  𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑙. & 𝑠𝑡𝑢 𝑚.
Tumblr media
In which the reader comes home, completely broken-hearted and her two friends, Stu Macher and Billy Loomis, come in to put a smile on her face and show her how much they love her.
WARNINGS:  This is a smut but not well written, lol. It’s mainly just oral, both receiving and giving. (male and female.)  Also, if you squeeze your eyes really tight, you may get a glimpse of slight foreshadowing in which Billy and Stu killed the guy that broke the reader’s heart but blink and you might miss it. Anyways. Enjoy.
Tumblr media
(Y/N) lied upon a soft feather mattress, cocooning herself in the silk sheets. A sad sigh surpassing her lips as the realization settles in, hitting her like a ton of bricks, like a cold bucket of water was thrown on her. She's alone. The room feels empty. Wait, no, scratch that.
It is empty.  It's dark and cold and lonesome. As many blankets that surround her and although she has many draped around her body, her skin still somehow prickles with goosebumps and she's shivering.
Though, she knows it's not because she's cold. She isn't shaking because of that. Not really. Before she could stop herself, her eyes start to glisten with tears, the corner of her eyes pooling with water and slowly but surely, they slide down her skin, wetting her cheeks. Goddammit. God fucking dammit, she thinks, reaching over and grabbing the duvet comforter,  she slides it over her head. Broken, silent sobs then proceed to escape past her lips, although she oh so desperately tries to hold them back. She fails miserably.  Then, out of nowhere, she hears a little knock, followed by another.   Rolling over to lay on her stomach, (Y/N) buries her face into the nearest pillow, causing mascara tears to soak and stain the cushion as she continues to cry and sob. Before she realizes it or even can acknowledge it, the window to her bedroom is being pulled up and her friends, Billy Loomis and Stu Macher, step inside her bedroom.   "(Y/N)?" (Y/N) is quick to flip around upon hearing her name, her heart hammering wildly against her chest.
"S-Stu? Billy? What the Hell are you guys doing here?"  She relaxes, having  seen her friends standing by her bedroom window rather than the man everybody was fearing lately in Woodsboro.
A masked man with a dark cloak and a spine-chilling voice. She was lucky she hadn't heard what he sounded like, she had enough nightmares as is. It was hard to say whether or not it was a man behind the mask but regardless, whatever sex the person was, they were crazy, inside and out. End of story. (Y/N) makes a mental note, reminding herself to lock her window next time and to keep track of that before she gets comfortable and goes to bed. Especially with what was happening everywhere in Woodsboro. "We wanted to make sure you were okay."  Billy said, walking over to the girl as he sat down next to her,  the mattress sinking beneath his weight. Stu followed, nodding happily as he shows a few VHS tapes, gesturing them over to (Y/N).
"We brought movies to watch and snacks, too!" He exclaimed as he then pulled out a small plastic bag, dumping out the items onto her bed.
There was chips and candy and they were all her favorite flavors and brands, too. (Y/N) felt the tears pooling in the corner of her eyes again at the sweet gesture her friends were sharing with her. "Oh... c'mon, don't be such  a cry baby." Stu snickered but he wrapped his arms around (Y/N) and pulled her into a side hug, Billy following right behind, hugging her from her right.
"We love you, we've got your back, always, okay?" "What Stu said. Besides, this world doesn’t deserve an angel like you, (Y/N).” "Mhm." Stu nodded.   "I really liked him, that's all..... I should've known it was a set up to get back with his ex." (Y/N) said with a sniffle, running a hand over her face as she tries to rid herself of any left over makeup, especially getting rid of the mascara, although, if she were positive, that and her eyeliner were most likely now resting on the pillow she had cried into rather than on her face. "Well, he's a fucking idiot." Billy growled.   "He doesn't see how perfect you are, (Y/N)." "Billy and I see that, though." Stu said, taking his hand off from her shoulder as he now rests his hand on her thigh, giving her a reassuring squeeze. It made (Y/N)'s breath hitch in her throat and she bites on her lower lip, nervously.
What were they doing....? She thinks. “We would do anything for you. Absolutely anything.”  Billy said. "We'd do anything just to see you happy, just to see you smile..." Stu continued. "You deserve nothing but the best, deserve nothing but happiness." "So, please... (Y/N)... let us give you that. Let us show you how beautiful and loved you really are. We love you.... we love you so much-" "We love you so much we'd kill for you." Billy looks over at Stu, giving him a questioning glare and (Y/N) goes to ask what that stare meant but her words are loss and any train of thought she had left the building once she feels both hands of Billy and Stu's on her thighs.
One on her left, the other on her right. "So.... no movies then?" (Y/N) asked jokingly. Her heart, like earlier, was pounding so loud she swore both boys could hear it against her chest. Her body was trembling as it had done earlier but now, it wasn't from sadness or feeling broken but rather hot and bothered.
She did always have an attraction to Billy and Stu, she'd be a liar to say she didn't. "We can watch them later. Right now, we want to see those legs of yours sprawled out, give us a view of that pretty pussy." (Y/N) whined softly but she obeyed, and while she did, Billy grunted while Stu spoke softly, "Such a good girl for us. You're our good girl, aren't you, sweetheart?" (Y/N) nodded as she stretched her legs on either side of her. All she was wearing was a thin gown, one that matched her sheets, being the fact both were silk.
"Oh.... so pretty, so beautiful." Stu purred, licking his lips, his eyes growing darker while Billy's did the same. "Naughty though.... aren't you, baby? Not wearing any panties." Billy chuckled as he stood up, feet landing on the carpeted floor with a soft thud as he walks over to (Y/N), undoing his jeans and the belt that had been neatly placed in the hoops of the pants.
"Is it okay if you suck me off, darling? You want to be a good girl, don't you?" (Y/N) says nothing, she's unable to speak. It was as if a cat had captured her tongue and ran off with it, and she couldn't get it back from the creature. She feels paralyzed, too. Everything feels as if it's going by too fast.
What an odd day.... she thinks. She didn't expect this to happen, not now, not ever. But she wasn't angry at it or the outcome of tonight's misfortune. It was just crazy how fast the night changes. "Baby? I asked you a question... If you know what’s good for you, you better answer me.”   "Y-yes." (Y/N) stammered, feeling heat rise to her cheeks.  "I'd love to suck you off, please, may I?" "Oh!" Stu chirped, giggling as he shook his head from side to side, a wicked grin playing out across his lips. "She's got manners, fuck - we really found the perfect girl, haven't we, Billy?" "Mhm." Billy said, pressing his cock to her lips. "Open up, sweetie. Let's see how pretty you look with a mouth full of cock." While (Y/N) parts her lips open, and as Billy pushes himself in her wet and warm mouth, (Y/N) feels heat against her clit and before she can put two and two together, Stu's devouring her pussy with his tongue and she squeaks, bucking her hips up into his touch.   "Fuck! She tastes incredible. Can't believe I haven't gotten to you sooner." Stu said before pressing his face back in between her thighs, licking and lapping her cunt with his tongue, making her tremble and shake.
(Also makes her almost choke and gag on Billy's cock as he presses his cock further down her throat.) Above, Billy nodded as he rocked his hips back and forth, eyes half-lidded, not quite shut but not all the way open either, as he grunts out an answer; "She's good with her mouth too, Stu." He said.
"Not sure I can last long, sweetheart..." He warned and right as the words slip from his lips,  it didn't take less than a second until (Y/N)'s mouth is being filled with Billy's creamy, white load.
"Oh.... fuck!"  He grunts, pulling back  as he drops down next to her on the bed.
"Go on, baby. Cum for Stu. You wanna be good for him too, don't you? Go on and cum.... cum all over his tongue, beautiful. I'm sure he'll love the taste of your juices, exploding into his mouth." And fuckfuckfuck.....
FUCK~!!
"O-Oh!"  (Y/N) mewls, bucking her hips into his mouth once more as the sweet release of her orgasm floods out of her and into Stu's mouth. Happily, Stu licks every drop up, pulling back with a very much pleased and satisficed smile.
"Both her and her pussy are so sweet." Stu complimented, now crawling up onto the bed and resting beside her, tucking his face into her neck as he presses a few  ghostly kisses on her skin. "Love you."
"I love you, too."
"And what about me?" Billy said with a playful pout.
"I love you too, Billy Loomis." (Y/N) admitted, grinning as she scooted a few inches over, patting the empty spot next to her. "Sleep with us?"
Billy smiled in reply as he plopped down next to his now lovers, curling up in (Y/N)'s side and kissing the other side of her neck, the way Stu had done previously.
"I'll treat you to a good time too,  tomorrow," (Y/N whispered, mainly to Stu but she turned and repeated the sentence to Billy as well. The boys look at each other with a smirk, giving one a knowingly glance before they turned back to (Y/N).
"Sounds like a plan, baby." The smile she wore across her lips falls into a frown and the boys are quick to sit up, having seen the smile turn upside down. "Baby, are you okay?" "Yeah." "Babe....don't you lie to us." "I'm not." She answers truthfully. "But.... this- I mean, us three, it's real, right?" She gestures in the air with a wave of her hand.  "You won't play with my feelings and hurt me-" "Baby." Billy's voice is rough and cold,  and his grip on her is far from affectionate and soft. "We'd kill for you, remember?" "We love you so much, (Y/N) you have no idea to what limits we'd go to prove that to you.” She didn't understand why the two kept repeating that very first sentence but she didn't question it, didn't think anything of it. She smiled and nodded, rubbing at her eyes now tiredly.
"I love you both, too. Now... before I get too tired, can we watch those movies you rented?" Billy laughed softly as Stu scrambled up and on his feet, grabbing the candy and the films that had fallen on the bed off of the floor and goes to set the VHS player up, clicking the TV on with a push of a button.
"You're gonna love these, (Y/N)! It's a new horror movie that came out!" "As long as it's not a slasher with a mask like the one that's hanging around in Woodsboro, I'm fine with anything. Whenever that monster goes away, I'll be fine and more than happy to watch slasher films again... just not now." She says with a laugh. "Don't worry, baby. With us around, you’ll be safe and sound. We’ll protect you.”

For Xiao, Zhongli and Albedo: what if their s/o (separate) made a song for them https://youtu.be/n8g-LdDf-pA note: S/O isn't immortal haha but they made the song in case they probs leave just to reassure their beloved loses them and uses it as some lullaby for them or something--
Tumblr media
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: xiao, zhongli, albedo (separate) x gn!reader
𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒: mentions of death, xiao & albedo & zhongli story spoilers, not proofread
𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒: for those wondering: the song is abt finding ‘you’ (the characters in this case) over and over again, even after death. bc you (reader) are never truly gone bc u were in their (the characters) hearts
also srry if i trailed off w this request!! i didnt know whether u wanted an angst or fluff ending!
Tumblr media
stares at u menacingly
is this. FORESHADOWING. that ur gonna DIE. hello?!
once you clear it up that it’s just merely a song because you’re a mortal and he’s not, he’ll relax a bit
but then he’ll get a lil sad 😔
he knows. he knows death is inevitable, even for someone like him. he knows, one day, one day he will be alone again
but he wishes it didn’t have to be this way. the adeptus xiao, wishing for a happiness so unobtainable...
Xiao was silent as you sang him your melody. The lyrics were so concise—yet, he felt as though you had rammed a spear into his heart multiple times.
He knew you were not permanent. That you were but a temporary, fleeting mortal soul, a soul who’d disappear like a wisp in the wind.
Your song—it reminded him of the Dihua Flute he had heard all those millennia ago. It reminded him of the eons he had spent, alone, the eons he had spent, cold.
All of those memories he had hidden in the corner of his brain, racking up cobwebs ever since you came. You were the light that’d pierce through the darkness of the night, the darkness of his mind. You were someone so, so much more than a ‘mortal’ he had dubbed you as.
And yet, he wished he could dub you as anything, anything but ‘mortal’. Mortals meant temporary, mortals meant erasable.
But you, you were not erasable. Never, never, ever. For as long as he’d live, as long as his name was ‘Xiao’.
You—you were the person whom he’d fallen in love with. [L/N] [Y/N].
he’d memorize the lyrics and tune of your song
though—as long as you live, he never wants to hear it again. hearing it once had already sent him into a dysphoric state, a state of which he seemed to mourn the future, to mourn what was about to come
and though—and though xiao knows, he knows you will leave him, that you will disappear like the rest...
he wants to believe. with his arms wrapped around you, with his hand clasped in yours, he wants to believe you will be by his side for eternity
The moon was silent, opening up a pathway for the Vigilant Yaksha as teal strands of hair fluttered with the wind, dancing like a needle and thread.
Long ago, you were by his side. Long ago, you had sang these same words to him—
“I’ll love every version of you.
And you’re never truly gone
As long as a part of you in me lives on.”
The world was quiet without you.
Maybe because—because it wasn’t you who was singing the song.
Tumblr media
zhongli will have a bittersweet smile etched onto his face
he, like xiao, has come to accept the fact that you are but a fleeting life in the sands of time. and though it pains him greatly—zhongli has suffered many, many losses
though, that does not mean yours is numb to him. goodness, no! if anything, yours would sting him for an eternity
but zhongli knows, for his wisdom is unmatched. he knows that he should take this time with you and spend it to the best of his expenses. he knows that though you may not be with him for the next hundreds of years, to have you in these mere decades is enough for him
and though his heart is already beginning to brace itself for a swan dive into the future, he—he, the mortal zhongli—will love you in this lifetime, and the next, and the next
“Did you arrange the lyrics yourself? They are quite beautiful, love,” Zhongli smiled, though, you did not miss the way his amber eyes flickered in melancholy.
“Hehe, yeah! I made this song for you, Zhongli! Because I know...” You trailed off, rubbing the back of your neck bashfully as the consultant wrapped his arms around you, the warmth of his body and the beat of his heart pounding against his chest.
Walking among mortals—Zhongli is reminded, time and time again, life is temporary. It always is, and always will be—even to someone such as himself.
Eternity was impossible, unreachable, but the ex-archon must admit...
He wanted to spend eternity with you.
Tumblr media
albedo had told you of his concerns, of how he’s afraid to one day destroy mondstadt
it was obvious how he hinted the fact that he may break up with you. not because he fell out of love per se, but for your own good.
and, a part of you had wished he had given you a chance. yet, you knew, you knew he did. he loved you, he loved you like how he loved alchemy, he loved you like how the sun would nurture and care for plants after the darkness of the night—
yet once again, albedo pulled through. he did it for you, he stopped loving you for— you
but you will never stop loving him.
Albedo sat in the corner of his camp, the fire doing nothing to alleviate the cold of his heart.
He was alone. Again. The alchemist somehow always found himself in this situation—lost, forgotten, tossed away like a used beaker.
But then he remembered, hah. It wasn’t him who was tossed away, it was you. It was your crestfallen face when Albedo ‘broke up’ with you, stating how he was ‘busy’ with experiments that you knew were just him shielding you from his inevitable doom.
Somehow, his mind always trailed back to you... as it always did. Whenever he felt powerless, the mere thought of your voice and laugh somehow brought him back to the known, back to hope.
“But my love, I will hold you close to me.
‘Till you fade from my arms peacefully.”
The melody of that song you had strummed just for him still replayed in his mind like a broken stereo, like an endless music box that’d be played whenever he fell down.
Never before has Albedo wished to forget you—but, during this time, during this freezing snowy night,
He wished you never brought him warmth, for he feels colder than before.

Are you hopeful about Misha being back and Dean returning Cas' feelings? I don't know what to think anymore but I'm not feeling hopeful and it makes me sad. I'm just having a hard time, I want to believe!
Hi anon! I can see how one could be skeptical because they’ve tried so hard to convince us that he wasn’t there for filming, not to mention that they really went all out with the call backs during Cas’ death scene. There was the hand print, the “wings” as the Empty takes him, and of course what definitely sounded like a deathbed one-sided love confession, but hey, they’ve also dropped a lot of clues to suggest otherwise, too!
1) In 15.09, when Chuck shows Sam the future, it is one where Cas is dead. Cas’ death is shown directly to be the reason why Dean is hopeless in the future. He gives up completely and when he finally agrees to hunt with Sam, they fail because Dean’s unable to give it his best shot. The consequence of that hopelessness is that they get turned into vampires. A future without Cas means a future where Dean becomes the monster at the end of the book and dies, which means it is a future where Chuck wins. That doesn’t really sound like a show about free will, does it?
2) To follow this, in 15.04, Becky specifically tells the audience that an ending with Sam and Dean dying and Cas absent is a bad ending. Becky is a fan of Supernatural, just like us, and all season, we’ve been told by the cast and crew that we’re going to get an ending that will please the fans. Chuck’s bad ending definitely wouldn’t fly with any fan of the show.
3) All of the above stresses the importance of Cas in the story. They can’t have a happy ending if he’s dead. Fifteen seasons have gone by, and we know one of the main themes of this show is free will. In 15.17, Chuck tells us that Cas is the only one who’s ever had true free will, who’s the only one who’s ever been able to influence Chuck’s story and break free of his control. By that same logic, Cas is the only one who can finally free Sam and Dean. He is the bringer of true free will and he is the only one who can hand it to humanity.
4) And just beyond narrative reasons foreshadowing Cas’ return, there’s also what the cast has said. Misha’s confirmed Cas is queer, and if Cas died after coming out, we’d be stuck with the Bury Your Gays trope, a mistake that the writers made with Charlie in 10.21. And anon, fans have literally never let them live it down. I don’t think they’d make the same mistake twice; they were booed at Comic Con that year and the cast all saw the backlash. Misha said in his latest panel that he could see Cas’ death as Bury Your Gays, but that he felt this scene meant something more. If Cas came back and got a happy ending, it wouldn’t be Bury Your Gays anymore
5) Misha is also like...a really bad liar. He also fumbled a lot when asked about whether it was his last episode. He emphasized that that had been the last scene he shot for 15.18, not the last scene of the season. Not to mention the cast put on a little celebration for him when he ended his tenure on the show and we know it couldn’t have happened on the same night as 15.18 because when they wrapped for the episode, Misha talked about nearly dying in a plane crash that same night. This is...what truly makes me believe...it’s Misha’s nervous babbling during the interview...
As for whether I think Dean will also return Cas’ feelings with a love confession, there’s evidence for that, too:
1) In 15.09, when Dean loses Cas in purgatory, Dean tells Cas that he has something to say. Cas tells him he heard his prayer, but the look on Dean’s face strongly suggests otherwise. Whatever he has to say, it isn’t in the prayer we heard. It’s a loose end and a very important one at that. All season they’ve stressed the consequences of Dean’s anger and Dean’s prayer was all about anger and release. Bottling up his feelings and leaving that bit of whatever Dean wanted to say unsaid wouldn’t resolve this storyline in a satisfactory way.
2) Even during the confession itself, Dean wanted to say things. He wanted more time, he told Cas not to do this, and he sobbed when Cas got pulled away. If we don’t hear anything more about Dean’s feelings and what he was going to say, it would be HIGHWAY ROBBERY, and again, an unsatisfactory resolution to his story
3) Not to mention during the same episode as the confession, Charlie and Sam both had their girlfriends taken from them. Dean had his friend taken? Um. Try boyfriend. If Dean never confesses and lets the audience know that Cas is his romantic partner, this would be very strange writing...
4) My last piece of evidence is literally the last 12 years. The mixtape, people asking him if he had a break-up whenever he fights with Cas, people asking him who he’s pining for, people asking him if he can imagine having a romantic partner who understands the life and like, just the fact that he literally loses his will to live whenever anyone tries to take Cas away from him. Like listen, I watched the last seven years of this story unfold week by week. In that manner, it’s actually harder to see how much Dean longs for him. But recently, I’ve been rewatching the show with my roommate. When you’re binging it, Dean’s incessant about it. He’s always asking about Cas when Cas is gone. He’s always hopeless, always broken without him. Sam spends like every episode comforting him about it. It would be incredibly foolish for the writers to not address Dean’s side when they went ahead with Cas’ side. Also, I’ll like literally show up at their houses with a pitchfork.
Will it be anything like Cas’ confession? Will there be a kiss? Frankly, I don’t know, but never in my life did I ever imagine something as textual as Cas’ confession either so I’m HOPEFUL, more hopeful than I’ve been in years. I do think 100% Dean will return Cas’ feelings, but whether it will be as obvious as Cas’ confession and whether the show will depict an actual romantic relationship in the finale remains to be seen.
