hey sorry to tell you this but we sent your boyfriend on a quest. yeah its— uh huh, yeah no it's fruitless. he'll lose more than he gains. No he'll come back, he just won't be the same. Sorry about that.

i'm currently having an argument with a friend about characters from [REDACTED NAME OF FANTASY SERIES] and i need to prove her wrong
(if you know who these characters are / what book series they're from: congratulations. you're like one of 12 people on this site. to you people, there is a correct answer here. and you HAVE to reblog this. don't you want to know too)

I'm counting LotR as just one book so it's not here and I only read one ASOIAF book so it can't enter this.

glokta's inner monologue is so fascinating to me. half of the time he's staring down the barrel of a gun, waiting for the other shoe to drop, fully expecting to meet his end around every corner. anticipating his own death with all the fervor of a man who has known nothing but self-loathing and betrayal for years. the other half of the time he's being a nasty little hater. I love it.

Inspired by @zarovichs 's post, I decided to make one for (most of) the POV characters from the standalone trilogy: Best Served Cold, The Heroes, and Red Country.
Say one thing for Joe Abercrombie: say he writes fuckable characters.

Glokta also really is proof that I will forgive anything in a man if he’s funny enough

On second thought, things would be worse.
Reading the series for the first time (just finished LAOK!) and this is the bulk of what I've learned, I think. That and Bayaz is a slimy, miserable little man.
Give Malacus Quai the gun, I think.

Glokta would love emails because then he could say "this meeting could have been an email" every time they make him walk stairs

The problem with reading 'some' books is that the fandoms are different than what I'm used to. For example, I'm reading the First Law series by Joe Abercrombie and currently am on the third book. And now I wamt some tragic/drama/angst platonic or gay fics about Logen or Bloody Nine and Bethod.
Not sure what the line is in English but in my language it's about how you can't truly hate a person if you didn't love them before and there will always be some love left over. Logan was also happy to hear Bethod, even for a second and he still considers him his best friend.
I don't care if it's platonic, give me Bethod being the only one allowed to touch Bloody Nine. Give me their toxic, hurtful friendship/partnership. Give me Bethod's pain when Logen betrayed him.
The only reason Bethod even has a bad name and enemies is because Bloody 9(or Logen) wanted to fight and spill blood and he did in Bethod name, so he got a lot of the glory.
But there aren't any fics... I am left to my imagination.
