guys I'm really trying, I swear, I'm actually trying to have fun with Grand Theft Auto V but it's just a worse Saint's Row in every way that matters.

The story pacing is atrocious, first and foremost. I was at something like 12 hours in before I even got to the PREP for the tutorial heist, and that's due in large part to them copying my least favorite thing about Skryim - side quests are given the exact same level of priority as main story quests, so it's been hard to figure out what's actually important. Compare to Saint's Row, where things don't really slow down until after you've been shown all the important gameplay mechanics and understand the core play loop(s).

Second, the thing that I hear most people praising the game for is the ability to cause mayhem in the streets. But not only is it actually harder to start shit that leads to interesting chain reactions, it's far less rewarding, because unless a cop actually SEES you kill someone or cause property damage, or you're willing to stick around for a LONG time after causing problems, it's basically impossible to raise notoriety outside of missions.

And speaking of missions, that's basically the only way you see any action. There's no rival gangs roaming the streets, ready to fight on sight. Even though there SHOULD be after one of Franklin's companions decided to start shit with a rival gang before you even meet Michael. Compare to any Saint's Row where there are rival gangs who want you dead before you even understand the dynamics surrounding them.

But even if there WERE combat all over the place, what good would it be when LITERALLY EVERY ENEMY IS ONE-SHOT??? At first I thought I was just unreasonably good with headshots, but then I figured out that most people still went down in one hit if I shot them in the foot. It really makes the game's cover mechanics feel irrelevant, and really trivializes Trevor's special ability. I've taken far more damage from accidentally setting myself on fire or being launched off a bike than I have from enemy gunfire.

On a separate note, I'll believe people when they tell me GTA did the whole immature/satirical humor thing first, but Saint's Row definitely did it better, and involved it in far more of the game.

GTA V just overall seemed to focus on quantity over quality. And clearly that works for most people out there, but I've played the game now, and I see what all the fuss is about. Just like with The Last of Us and Uncharted, I'm seriously disappointed in you all and have no faith in your taste in games if you think this is any kind of masterpiece.

⋆ ˚｡ both of you are competitive let's be real ⋆ ˚｡ mainly play vs games, such as mario kart, jeopardy, monopoly, etc ⋆ ˚｡ he swears a LOT because jean ⋆ ˚｡ you both will try and sabotage each other by nudging the other or obscuring vision ⋆ ˚｡ no matter what the game it is always extremely intense ⋆ ˚｡ if people watched you they would probably be scared ⋆ ˚｡ but you guys still are....... fairly cordial when one wins and the other loses ⋆ ˚｡ "no pressure, but whoever wins this gets the game. bragging rights for eternity" ⋆ ˚｡ sometimes you guys play horror games (i.e. resident evil 8, the walking dead) and he gets jealous when you say a character is hot ⋆ ˚｡ you guys make a crack character for the show through jokes and it's so funny you need to lie down for a minute because you hurt so badly ⋆ ˚｡ you are both delusional ⋆ ˚｡ game grumps vibes ⋆ ˚｡ will make fun of couples in the game and then be like "uhh" ⋆ ˚｡ you try not to swear but he doesn't care and it is a beautiful comparison

⋆ ˚｡ mostly stick to puzzle-ish games and two-player games, like little nightmares 2 or death squared or human fall flat ⋆ ˚｡ but you both love minecraft and other sandbox games ⋆ ˚｡ great teamwork ⋆ ˚｡ telepathic communication has long been established ⋆ ˚｡ but you still try and kill each other because it's funny ⋆ ˚｡ you can't even be mad because the other is laughing so hard over something so stupid it's so cute ⋆ ˚｡ you will just throw sasha over the edge of the map and keel over for the next 7 and a half minutes laughing until you cant breathe ⋆ ˚｡ and she does the same ⋆ ˚｡ you play gang beasts with the boys and it's a fucking chaotic mess ⋆ ˚｡ its literaslly so fucnny help hahahahhahaaa ⋆ ˚｡ callmecarson playing gta 5 vibes forever ⋆ ˚｡ "PLEASE STOP I CANT BREAAATHE" ⋆ ˚｡ "breathe on your own time"

⋆ ˚｡ you build the fucking sickest builds together in minecraft like fantasy-inspired, thousand-blocks-wide builds that are so detailed and have so much passion in them ⋆ ˚｡ you plan them for hours ahead of time and every part of the process is the best ⋆ ˚｡ also love very detailed puzzle games; death squared, the witness ⋆ ˚｡ superliminal is your favorite aside from minecraft ⋆ ˚｡ you cried at superliminal because you were so confused ⋆ ˚｡ you've played all runs of undertale ⋆ ˚｡ armin got emotional during all of them and so did you ⋆ ˚｡ but he was the one to do the genocide run it was incredible ⋆ ˚｡ detroit: become human when you're sleep deprived is absolutely shitpost heaven ⋆ ˚｡ human fall flat while drinking 2x the ammount of coffee the average college person consumes ⋆ ˚｡ after a while, you start laughing at silly little things you do on accident and armin thinks it's absolutely adorable ⋆ ˚｡ he's always like "NO! save the animals" even when you literally cvant touch them ⋆ ˚｡ you're working your way through all of the legend of zelda games. breath of the wild is your favorite, the original is armin's favorite ⋆ ˚｡ he loves 8bit games

⋆ ˚｡ he doesn't really play video games often because..... i mean come on ⋆ ˚｡ but he does love horror games that don't have gore, like little nightmares, layers of fear, ju-on the grudge, FAITH, etc ⋆ ˚｡ offers little commentary aside from appreciating graphics or going quiet before a "oh" and a complete explanation of what youve been missing ⋆ ˚｡ he doesnt swear (that much) ⋆ ˚｡ asks you questions since you introduce him to each game ⋆ ˚｡ but he asks them like every five seconds like "what is that" ⋆ ˚｡ "hun that's just a fridge" ⋆ ˚｡ "but it has fifteen shelves" ⋆ ˚｡ watches you play other games and offers commentary that makes you laugh at juuusst the wrong time and then you throw the minecraft hunger games championship ⋆ ˚｡ and also gives you tips when it comes to gang beasts or puzzle games because he has the eyes of.... a god? ⋆ ˚｡ overall a pleasant experience and very productive. he does tease you a lot though, even when you do actually figure it out before him

⋆ ˚｡ it's the most chaotic thing you can ever imagine ⋆ ˚｡ you make the worst jokes (in quality and in subject) and every time you're both cry-laughing ⋆ ˚｡ literally deceased ⋆ ˚｡ will punctuate every sentence of theirs with some swear word/combination just to make you laugh and it always works ⋆ ˚｡ "burger kink. finally" ⋆ ˚｡ heavy wheeze ⋆ ˚｡ the most absurd things always happen when you play together and it is absolutely fucking magical ⋆ ˚｡ the bits are extraordinary ⋆ ˚｡ afterwards you actually talk about the things you liked ⋆ ˚｡ and it's always like an endless list ⋆ ˚｡ it's the most chaotic neutral wholesome thing you guys do ⋆ ˚｡ once again game grumps vibes but like x5.49 at least ⋆ ˚｡ you two could be streamers it would be incredible ⋆ ˚｡ whenever you come out with the Good Lore they listen and then make the worst jokes/commentary, it's fantastic

⋆ ˚｡ you always genuinely try ⋆ ˚｡ mikasa is excellent at video games, let's be real rn ⋆ ˚｡ but will dial it back a bit to play by your side because your side is the best to be on x ⋆ ˚｡ so sweet during the entire time ⋆ ˚｡ not chaotic but she does get competitive and kind of intense ⋆ ˚｡ like staring at the screen unblinking intense ⋆ ˚｡ always there whenever you get confused ⋆ ˚｡ you end up explaining some things to mikasa tho. you always research the game beforehand, watch playthroughs, so you know the ins and outs and all the lore ⋆ ˚｡ you Are the sacred scroll ⋆ ˚｡ mikasa is genuinely in love with how passionate you get about the games, the look in your eyes and the smile on your face is so sweet and gorgeous ⋆ ˚｡ you love introducing her to the things you love ⋆ ˚｡ wholesome time. depending on the game you play ⋆ ˚｡ your 2 player minecraft world is exquisite

⋆ ˚｡ loves really disorienting/detailed puzzle games ⋆ ˚｡ so superliminal was right up his alley ⋆ ˚｡ you worked out the game together, the teamwork was perfection ⋆ ˚｡ and it always is ⋆ ˚｡ you're the one to usually ask to play. he's not usually a video game guy, he prefers going out or staying in, but is getting into games thanks to you ⋆ ˚｡ usually a very nice and un-chaotic time that you both enjoy ⋆ ˚｡ usual banter and you laugh a lot. though not the hange type laughter, important distinction ⋆ ˚｡ will ask questions about the games you introduce him to. and questions that directly ask about the things you love the most about the game so you get to gush about it to him ⋆ ˚｡ like mikasa he absolutely loves the look in your eyes when you're talking about things you love ⋆ ˚｡ usually ends up getting deeply interested in everything about a game because of you ⋆ ˚｡ when it comes to strategy games he is a god ⋆ ˚｡ don't even ask about 5D chess with time travel
