“Usually I am very careful, very reasonable. But for once I wanted to experience what it felt to be unreasonable. I needed to be destructive. A lot of alcohol, very little sleep, a lot of fun *smiles, a little wistfully*
She went ice swimming and hurled things in rage rooms: “It was painful, but I was building skin.”

The Gods We Can Touch Book Review
5/5 stars
i want to start by saying i don't rate every book according to the same standards. it would be unfair to rate this book, which is a journal kept during the making of Aurora's latest album, the same way one would rate a full fledged novel.
the gods we can touch by aurora aksnes is a copy of the journal aurora kept whilst making her album of the same name. it features her thoughts, lyrics, illustrations, and more.
i'm obsessed with this book. not only was it good quality physically, but it was such a joy to read. granted, i am biased because i am a huge aurora fan. her music means so much to me, and this album specifically has gotten me through some tough times. it's gorgeous visually. it's also so interesting to see her reasoning behind writing each song. it also revealed some songs which did not make it onto the album, and now i need a (from the vault) release. my only critique is that sometimes her handwriting was hard to read, and i'm sure that affected its accessibility.
overall, would recommend to any aurora fan! unfortunately, it is only available through purchase, however.
