Most translations of the Grimms' Kinder- und Hausmärchen leave out the author's notes on the fairy tales. Margaret Hunt's does not and I am very grateful to her, because it means I do not have to translate this variant of Snow White myself:
A Count and Countess were driving past three heaps of white snow, and the Count said," How I wish I had a girl as white as this snow! "Soon they came to three pits filled with red blood, and again he spoke, and said, "I wish I had a girl with cheeks as red as this blood." Finally, three black ravens flew by, and he wished for "a girl with hair as black as those ravens." When they had driven a little farther they met a girl white as snow, red as blood, and with hair as black as the ravens, and this was Snow-white. The Count at once made her come into the carriage and loved her, but the Countess did not, and thought of nothing but how to get rid of her. At last she let her glove fall out and commanded Snow-white to find it again, but in the meantime made the coachman drive quickly away. And now Snow-white was alone and came to the dwarfs.
Sadly the Grimms do not record whether this version also ends up with her surviving poison and waking up as soon as the apple is dislodged from her throat, but I personally would not even doubt this girl surviving a knife to the heart.
If I suddenly saw a mysterious child white as snow, red as blood, and black as ravens - after first encountering three pits full of blood and three ravens - my first instinct would not be to order her into my carriage and drive off with her.
The dwarves were probably delighted to meet her, as she's obviously not human either.

The thing about being a fanfiction writer is that sometimes you find yourself researching proto-germanic civilizations and the characteristics of sarcophagi in the new dynasty of Ancient Egypt instead of paying attention in Chemisty cause you want to figure out how the lore would fit together for a crossover you may or may not write this century.

“Goodnight!” You shouted down the hallway before you shut your door, unable to not smile after you heard the muffled replies of the brothers shouting back to you.
Climbing into bed had never been a difficult task and today it was no different. With you safe under your covers and your phone to distract you, you were perfectly content.
But, then, of course,  Mammon came marching in as he had always done since your first week here. However, you had grown so used to this that it no longer disrupted the peace anymore.
So, you ignored him and simply lifted up the covers for him to slide into.
After a few minutes of DevilTok, you threw your phone onto your nightstand and covered yourself up with your blanket. You were finally ready to sleep.
Mammon curled closer, his face hidden in the blanket over your stomach. You smoothed his hair down, smiling at how he only pressed closer at the touch.
Your door creaked open. You raised your head but you were unable to tell who it was. They settled on the side opposite of where Mammon had gotten in and rubbed your shoulder gently instead of saying anything.
The lamp turned on. It was Satan. You rolled onto your stomach, trying to shield your eyes from the light. Mammon grumbled, annoyed that he could no longer hide his face in your body comfortably.
Your door once again creaked open. You groaned.
Another weight to the bed. Someone had decided to lay on your back. Four people in your bed was too unusual. You peeked an eye open.
Mammon was baring his teeth like a feral animal at whoever was on top of you. You would bet a thousand Grimm that it was Belphie.
You looked to your right. Satan wasn’t even reading his book and was instead looking at you.
You rolled your eyes. You knew what was happening. Your demons had once again came to the conclusion that you were human with a human lifespan.
You decided to just let them angst this one out.
The door opened and this time, two pairs of footsteps wondered to your bed. “Sorry, hun,” Asmo whispered as he crawled over you and Mammon. “Wanted to see you.”
“Uh huh…” Levi took his spot on the outside of your legs, your left calf acting as a cushion for his head. You prayed that you wouldn’t accidentally kick him in your sleep.
Then you heard the crunching of chips and a crinkle of a bag. You hadn’t even noticed him walk in.
You moaned into your pillow, exhausted beyond belief. “Beel, please stop eating. I know it sucks to be told that, but go outside if you’re going to crunch.”
There was an incoherent reply and then silence. The edge of the mattress dipped down. Satan turned his lamp off.
You worked on ignoring all of them, closing your eyes tightly and hoping for the best. Asmo dragged his manicured nails up and down your arm and it pulled you into a sleepy haze. You hummed out your appreciation and Asmo giggled tiredly in response.
You felt yourself rocking in and out of sleep, even drooling with how at peace you were. Maybe it wasn’t so bad having six demons in bed with you. Maybe it was worth it for this amount of comfort.
And then your door slammed open.
“Get out of their room, now.” A deadly aura made you choke on air, shivering violently. Lucifer was in his demon form and livid.
Belphie jolted awake on your back, making you gasp in pain as his elbows and knees dug into you. Mammon reacted, scrambling to pull you out from under him.
“Mammon,” Belphie growled, easing his weight back down onto you. “What do you think you’re doing?”
“What do ya think YOU’RE doing?!” Mammon huffed, irritated. “You’re hurtin’ ‘em!”
“They’re fine. They can handle it.” He patted you on the head. How were they ignoring Lucifer? You shifted warily under his weight, unable to see anything happening.
Lucifer started stomping over. You shrunk under Belphie, trying to hide.
“Who do you two think you are, ignoring me?” Lucifer loomed over you three, Levi rolling away to avoid confrontation. “You will all go to your own rooms immediately. The rest of you as well.”
“Lucifer!” Asmodeus whined, leaning into a dozing Beelzebub’s side. “Why can’t we stay? What’s the harm?”
“They were just about to sleep but someone decided to wake them back up,” Satan glowered up at Lucifer. “I think you should be the one to leave.”
“Oh my god, Lucifer just let them stay.” You took matters into your own hands, rubbing at your face tiredly. You wanted no more arguing tonight. “Thanks, but if I didn’t want them here I would’ve gotten rid of them long ago myself. Stay or leave, I don’t care just please turn off the lights.”
He walked away and flipped the switch, darkness fortunately covering the entire room once again. You relaxed and felt Belphie nuzzle into the nape of your neck.
You heard a chair being dragged on your wooden floor and then Lucifer sitting down. You rolled your eyes. Of course he would choose to stay but not be in the bed.
Now, with everything and everyone finally settled in for the night, you got to thinking.
How could all of them be upset over the same thing at once? You think quietly as you can in your bed filled with eight people and come to a damning conclusion. One that makes your stomach twist painfully.
“You had a family movie night without me, didn’t you? And it had someone dying long before someone else, didn’t it?” The sound of breathing stops, seven pairs of eyes stare at you, all conveying different degrees of guilt. “What the hell?”

🔞 MDNI | Scary Cat Privileges w/Grimmjow (GN!reader) 🔞
Random HCs on this because it won't leave my head. Grimmy has a gigai in this. Pre-established relationship.
TW: mentions of rough sex, obsession possessiveness, mentions of violence, feline marking
Tumblr media
You've heard of scary dog privileges, but imagine having a boyfriend that exudes scary cat privileges. Canines can look frightening, yes, but have you seen cats? They stare down at anyone and anything with murderous intent on their minds. Grimmjow does the exact same thing when he sees or even hears someone or something he doesn't like, or downright hates. This happens often when the two of you are out and about on the streets.
You'd be minding your own business until you hear a slight hiss that's almost confused with a growl, and then you'd notice the way people just steer clear of the two of you as you walk down the street. Grimmjow plays it off as everyone was walking too close to him, but really, they were walking too close to you. Not that he'd ever say that.~
The next time something happens is when he's left you in a store to peruse something that caught his eye, only to return and see some stranger up close and flirting with you. If not for the laws of this land, he'd have slaughtered them where they stood. Instead, he opts to simply butt into the conversation, slinging an arm over your shoulder while his free hand roughly shoves the stranger back. His death-like glare is enough to send them scurrying off.
Speaking of his glare, it's intense, but all you really see when you look at him is an angry cat. You're not sure what he's thinking when he's glaring at someone, but you know it isn't good. You also know he's got a temper, and you don't really question the drops of blood on the ends of his shirt when he comes back to your apartment after being gone for three hours.
You don't even question the way he switches moods when seeing you, growing what you assume to be affectionate when he holds you close and starts rubbing his face into your neck. It's cat-like behavior, you know that, but it surprises you when he takes it further. He marks you. Both with a physical mark for everyone to see, and in an intimate way that makes you know you belong to him. And he's not at all gentle with it, but you can take it. You always do.~
Grimmjow's scary cat tendencies don't stop. He frightens your friends to the point where you have to remind them that he's gentle and doesn't bite, but also get onto him for making your friends feel that way. The man can't help that he's a little jealous, and he damn sure won't admit it if you ever tease him about it.
In conclusion: Grimm is and always will be your scary cat. Your hot, possessive, scary cat.

Hey, so we all understand that ANY serious RWBY theory that has Jaune getting some kind of cool powerup or weapon or a badass fight scene or killing one of the big bads like Cinder or Salem or literally any other fantasy-hero/power-fantasy staple is effectively dead on arrival, right?
Because it runs counter to one of the fundamental qualities of Jaune’s character: that he is a massive SUBVERSION of the whole ‘fantasy hero protagonist’ archetype. That a CORE aspect of Jaune’s character arc across the show has been all about abandoning any desire to be some idealized ‘Fantasy Hero’ who’s super special and always saving the day and defeating evil, and instead growing in an ‘Every-Man Hero’. Someone who isn’t all that special or strong but is nonetheless committed to helping those in need.
I mean just compare Jaune in Atlas during Volume 7/8 to Jaune in the Ever After during Volume 9: During their time in Atlas, we see Jaune not trying to be ‘The Hero’, instead he’s part of a group, following someone else’s lead and focusing on helping and supporting his friends and anyone else he can. While his friends are off slaying monsters and fighting the bad guys, Jaune is escorting kids to school or evacuating civilians or just carrying a friend or three. And it’s clear that in this role, Jaune flourishes. Emotionally and psychologically, Jaune is the best he’s been in the entire show! To the point where even in the depths of Salem’s ominous Grimm Whale of Doom, Ren’s empathic senses see Jaune as a pure, bright spot of positivity.
Then Volume 9 let Jaune try to be a cool, badass legendary hero in the form of The Rusted Knight. A single, solitary hero at the center of everything who fights monsters and helps everyone.
And it utterly DESTROYED HIM.
At this point I think the show has made it pretty clear where Jaune’s character is going, and just as clear where it ISN’T going.
If anything, rather than Jaune getting some kind of powerup, I think it’s far more likely we’ll see the opposite.
You know the theories that Jaune will wind up being integral to any plans to revive Penny? That Pietro will reveal/confirm that he doesn’t have enough aura to reactivate Penny, or is prepared to sacrifice his life in order to bring is daughter back one more time; only for Jaune to step in and volunteer his aura as the catalyst to bring Penny back.
Well consider how (re)activating Penny permanently stunted Pietro’s aura. I think it’s pretty easy to imagine much the same happening to Jaune.
Specifically, what if reviving Penny costs Jaune his uniquely strong and quick-regenerating aura reserves? As in, the very things that have helped him to be a capable fighter? To the point where Jaune’s aura might now be not much stronger than that of a normal, untrained civilian.
Basically, what if Jaune doesn’t sacrifice his life to bring Penny back as Pietro might have done, but rather sacrifices his strength and even ability to be a HUNTSMAN?
Honestly, I think this would be the perfect conclusion to Jaune’s character arc; the idea that things like martial strength and the ability to slay monsters and fight bad guys are actually so unnecessary and even counter to who he really is as a person that Jaune can just give up those things without issue whatsoever (remember that he would STILL have his semblance that allows him to empower others).
Perhaps even to the point of admitting that he never really needed to BE a huntsman in the first place.

The Great Mammon - Mammon x Reader
Summary: How dare you make plans with someone other than The Great Mammon? You’ll have to make it up to him…when you come back of course…
Warning: Fluff to Angst, jealous Mammon, mentions of Solomon, kissing, down bad for Mammon, Nightbringer spoilers, light mention of lesson 16
Note: Yes I’m in my feels. Yes I hate Nightbringer. Yes I play NB more than the OG. Yes I love you Mammon
Tumblr media
Now playing:
Let The Light In - Lana Del Rey, Father John Misty
(On repeat)
“Mammon! I have a problem!” You yell out, bursting through the demon’s door as you have for what seems like years now.
He becomes startled and ends up dropping some coins into his lap and down to his floor. He shoots a small glare your way before collecting his money once again.
“Whaddya want human!? M’ tryna count my grimm” he says returning to the shiny coins.
“Yeah ok whatever, I need a good Halloween movie to watch tonight!” You say desperately.
“I thought I told ya I would be going the the casino tonight?” He says finally looking at you with a tilt of his head. You both frequently have movie nights but tonight is one of the few times one of you ends up canceling.
“Yes I know that” you say rolling your eyes. “I decided to schedule one with Solomon tonight but I don’t know what to watch”
Mammons eyes narrow at the mention of the sorcerer. “Huh? You’re watching movies with that shady sorcerer now??”
You cross your arms pouting at the nickname for one of your good friends. “Yes because someone decided to cancel on me”
“Well how about Evil Dead, it’s got a bunch a blood n’ gore” he says.
“I was thinking something more spooky than scary something like…Corpse Bride!” You suddenly come to a conclusion yourself. “Thanks Mammon you’re the best!” You say kissing him on the cheek only the begin running off to get ready for your plans.
“O-oi! Isn’t that a romance movie?” He yells at you before you leave.
“I mean kinda but not really…” you say still walking off.
Mammon become increasingly desperate to get you to stay. Anything to get you away from that sorcerer. Or anyone for that matter.
“Wait! Uh…lemme go with you…” he tries.
You give him a questioning look and stop. “Huh? Why? I’ve made the walk myself before? Plus you have places to be”
“I- ah…it’s…dangerous! Yea…and um…well maybe you just shouldn’t go…because…” he tries and pretty much fails. You glare at him, knowing he’s making up excuses on the spot. “Because…he’s probably asleep already…yea!”
You cross your arms again. “Actually…I don’t think I’ve ever seen Solomon sleep” you say, face scrunching in full realization you’ve never seen him sleeping.
“That doesn’t matter! Just…stay?” He gives you puppy eyes. The type of eyes you’d receive from Beel asking for the rest of your food off your plate. The eyes Asmo would give so you’d bathe with him or Belphie would give so you’d nap with him.
You contemplate for a moment. Eyebrows furrowing as you weigh your options. “I already made plans Mammon i can’t just…cancel”
“Course ya can! Then we can watch any movie ya want!”
After another moment of contemplation, you turn towards the door before you can decide to stay. But of course, he catches you. Arms around your waist and light breaths against your neck, giving you goosebumps.
“Please…” he whispers. An almost sad whisper. What made him like this, you’re unsure. And just like you knew you would, you crumble. Immediately.
“Ok…” you reply and turn in his arms to face him. You stare at his face. His eyes are closed as his forehead rests against yours. Before his eyes flutter open and meet yours.
For a moment you just stare. suddenly struck with how unbelievably pretty he is. And he stares back. For the exact same reason. His eyes flicker lower. And you understand immediately. So you lean forward. And so does he.
Finally, your lips meet. Molded together so perfectly. But when you pull away you decide to tease him.
“I thought The Great Mammon didn’t need a puny human like me?” You say with a small smirk.
“Oi! Shaddup…” he whisper yells back.
And suddenly Mammon awakes with a start. He’s in bed, hugging a pillow. He rises, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and examining his room. Seeing the very spot where his moment with you happened. And while he dreamt of it, he knows it really happened. But that was a long time ago.
His heart pangs and tears fill his eyes once again. He sits alone on his bed ready to cry once again. You’re gone now. You have been for a few weeks. Disappeared without a trace in the middle of the night. You have no idea what it was like to wake up with the emptiness of a pact. His only pact. It was unbearable. In fact he wanted to scratch at it just to feel something. Anything.
His eyes are puffy from last nights tears. And they remain red as fresh ones spill down his face. Who knew a demon had such an abundance of tears in his eyes. He’s sorry he couldn’t save you. He’s so sorry.
The Great Mammon felt he had only one purpose. To protect his human.
And twice now, he’s failed.

Weeping Knight,Grimm Knight, or Arcwitch?
Ooh, boy... Heck of a selection, huh? Jaune and the three "MILFs," eh? Alrighty. Let's talk about these three ships.
Weeping Knight/Willow's Knight/Frosted Knight
Normally, this would be your classic "pool boy/lonely housewife" trope in adult works. Hell, some people jump at the idea of giving Jacques Schnee the NTR treatment because, well, he's Jacques Schnee. And there's also the fact that Weiss didn't show interest in Jaune in Volume 1 (completely understandable, by the way) and this is some form of payback for that.
But I say, NUTS TO ALL THAT! You could definitely craft a loving story about Willow finding love again after not having it for so long and Jaune isn't just some horny young adult looking for a woman with experience. You could instead look at Jaune for what he is, which is basically walking medicine. He's healing Willow and she's relishing in the attention she's receiving.
Also, one of my favorite Willow x Jaune art pieces I see is Weiss going full emo/goth in response, and Jaune is like, "I'm not trying to replace your dad, Weiss! I'm just trying to be there for you and your family!"
Score - 8/10 if not written like a MILF porno
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Grimm Knight/Death Knight/At The Stake
This one is another old school trope of "what if the hero and the main villain got together". There's a lot that can go into this, whether Jaune becomes evil, Salem becomes good, or some unique scenario in between. Honestly, I find this ship both cute and wholesome when it's done well enough. Of course, there's lewds of this too, because apparently when Mommy Salami stayed too long in the oozie jacuzzi, her body didn't change from when she was in her 20s.
Still, this is a very cute ship and I like just about everything I see of it. Probably my favorite version of this ship I saw was when Ozpin sent Jaune to kill Salem, and she ends up marrying him and sending Oz the wedding invite. (Yeah, it's a self-plug. Big whoop, want to fight about it?)
Score - 9/10 just don't think about the potential Philip J. Fry effect
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Arcwitch
Since there's only one name to this, it stands to reason that this is the most famous of three, likely due to the fact that this was the first Jaune x MILF ship ever made. Unfortunately, this also makes it the more... problematic, just from the trope alone. The classic "hot for teacher" idea that becomes an actual crime when applied to the real world.
However, that doesn't mean that there's no good works with this, though it's mostly lewds pertaining to the couple. The best example of this ship I've seen is in Professor Arc, in which Jaune sneaks into Beacon as a teacher and he and her develop a very close relationship. Although, there's still a bit of an ick factor to it, but that doesn't mean that this ship can't be done well since it's a confident older woman with a more timid younger man. Overall, I think it can be a good ship.
Score - 7/10 and the ick keeps me from going higher.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
IN CONCLUSION:
If y'all wanna have Jaune be cute and romantic with an older gal, that's fine. Just, y'know, don't be weird and creepy about it. Course, won't stop me from writing these ships either. Never compromise your standards for the worse and KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

My very imaginative human names for the boys are stan for satan and simon for simeon i thought very hard for those
Due to the nature of the idea, I want to keep it to things that I think that, if the brothers were going to the human world, they would pick out for themselves. Unfortunately, that also means they could just be bad at naming things. The current rankings are:
Lucifer: Lance or Luther. Lucifer is smart and I think he would know that Lucien or Lucius is going to stand out. (One of those is literally the alias for the guy who founded the Satanic Temple. It's not a normal name with normal connotations.) And Lukas is just Luke and he already knows one. Either of those still sound vaguely posh but not overly attention seeking.
Mammon: Though I was thinking Mattias or Mateo, if I'm being honest, I think he would pick something extra like Maximilian purely because it sounds like "a million"= 1,000,000 Grimm. Won't fit him at all, but he'll go by Max.
Levi: Levi shouldn't change his name, but if he's going to the human world then he'll treat it like an isekai situation. He's going to change his name to Aki or Subaru or something. Whatever the most vaguely generic Japanese protag name I can think of is.
Satan: He's going to name himself after a popular cat. It is a forgone conclusion. So I'm thinking either Salem (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) or Sylvester (Looney Tunes, but the nickname is Sullie). Salem is witchy but I like the nickname Sullie.
Asmo: I'm pretty content with the name Aster for him. It's a flower, it's unisex, it even starts with As. I can see him in a good fit, put the name Aster on him, and it works well enough for me. Works even better if you imagine Solomon calling him that in the exasperated voice of a long suffering BF.
Beel: Ben. I went looking through a lot of names and realized that Beel probably isn't going to remember anything too complicated. He'll stick to something easy. Ben works.
Belphie: For this idea, the brothers are picking their own names, and this is the human hating era, so I just don't think he'll pick one. No alias, just Belphegor and the world has to deal with it. Thankfully, he's lesser known so it won't raise instant red flags for most. MC will eventually call him Bell/Belle instead of Belphie, so it's just a bit more normal.

gift for @rocksinmuffin! another twst (and lilia) fan<3
due to a tumblr glitch - this was posted instead of saved. working on finishing this asap.
5 signs you're dating a vampire (by the great grimm)
sign 1 (one): tends to avoid sunlight (like. a lot)
another day in ramshackle dorm, another day of the student body marching through like an endless parade that actually lives there. normally Grimm minds a fair amount (the prefect is His magickless servant, not theirs!) - but today he's Extra grumpy about it.
today was the designated (self-appointed) nap day between him and you. he always gets a small can of tuna (and belly scratches!) but... naturally, that all flew out the window the very second Lilia flew in.
decorated with a black, lacy parasol (something that looks delicate and old) and he refuses to put it away until every window is closed and curtain drawn. the very second the last sliver of light disappears, so does the parasol. naturally - avoiding sunlight isn't Always suspicious, but this is Lilia Vanrouge. everything he does is suspicious (according to Grimm, anyways).
the diasomnia member simply giggles as he usually does and waves grimm's concerns away with a flippant hand. "i don't do well in the sun. i burn very easily~"
the cat gives him a suspicious look before running up to his own room in the dorm. he was going to nap - regardless if lilia wanted to drop by and avoid sunlight. it's been a long day and he's sure you would yell for help if it was needed.
(unspoken is how he lingers just outside the doorway, sleeping while an ear remains perked - just in case.)
sign 2 (two): he refuses to eat garlic (slight agreement there)
garlic, by any means, is far from grimm's favorite seasoning - it makes his nose itch. so when lilia comes over for dinner (the 91th time this month alone), he barely notices when the older student gently rejects any offers of Anything that even smells remotely of garlic.
"ah," he sighs - seemingly tired as if he's answered this question a million times before - "i'm simply... allergic to garlic. it doesn't particularly agree with me."
grimm vaguely remembers adeuce talking about Something (symptoms of some disease) and a few things caught his attention. things lilia did. he thinks they called it vampirism.
you'd gotten onto him several times now about jumping to conclusions, so he sat silently at the table (eyes never leaving lilia) as the student joked and giggled. it was totally normal and fine for someone to not like garlic - but the more grimm thought about it the more suspicious he got.
sign 3 (three): never wears silver (from what's been observed - thank you, r.h.)
sign 4 (four): has no reflection!!! Ever!!!!
perhaps inlisting the help of one rook hunt wasn't the brightest idea - he was terrifying and always manage to make grimm jump a few feet in the air. but he was also the best at observing others - often while remaining unseen himself.
therefor, he was the perfect choice for what the cat had in mind. a big tell of vampirism was avoiding silver - something about it burning their skin. and while lilia didn't often wear jewelry - he Had been spotted sporting it when dressed up for a holiday, school event, or something to do with his club. (rook even mentioned one time about him doing something called 'cosplay' with idia.)
sure, some people looked better in different metals, but Everyones worn silver at least once. and the fact lilia seemed to avoid it only made grimm more suspicious.
(naturally, what the little monster Didn't see was lilia waving in a friendly manner to rook - who was lounging in a tree, within perfect sight of his 'prey'.)
the mirrors in ramshackle dorm were old and busted and dirty. but he also knew there was one the prefect used quite often - the one in their bedroom. grimm could never use it, as it sat too high for him to feel comfortable climbing towards. but... on lilia's more frequent visits - that was the only mirror he seemed to use.
sign 5 (five): mysterious red stains that he never bothers to explain
and it was once (only once) grimm was in the room when lilia was using the mirror. he was re-applying what the prefect later explained to be eye-liner - something that could be done without a mirror but it was easier to see your reflection.
when grimm looked up at said mirror being used, he saw no reflection. no eyes, no nose, nothing on lilia's person was reflected back. only vampires had no reflection - every other creature in twisted wonderland had a reflection (this grimm knew for a fact.)
he'd barely rambled out some excuse before bolting from the room - haunted by lilia's giggles as the vampire older student went back to finishing his eye-liner.
the final nail in the coffin for grimm was when he would show up with random red stains peppering his white undershirt (red! red stains!)
sign 6 (six): he has a biting problem (written and scribbled out by the prefect)
the prefect always brushed it off with a light scolding to be more careful next time, meanwhile lilia would just give them a secretive little smile.
grimm is more firm in his beliefs now. he can say with absolutely no room for doubt - lilia vanrouge is a vampire. perhaps even the only one in twisted wonderland.
lilia is just a regular fae who is more expressive in his affections - he has sharp teeth and likes to nibble. garlic smells too strong to anyone with heightened senses (see: beastmen and other fae). he does wear silver but only on special occassions.
the old mirror in the prefects room is imbued with an old magick, it only reflects mortal souls. if malleus, crowley, or even sebek were to look into it - there would also be no reflection.
lilia has a pale complexion and does burn easily - he's also just a fan of pastel gothic fashions and when not attending lessons (in his own free time) tries to incorporate pieces of the style into his wardrobe around campus.
the stains, however, are blood. lilia's fangs are sharp and he's not always gentle with his bites. but far as anyone else is concerned - its just ketchup or wine.

Have you ever heard of the crack theory that Qrow and Raven are Salem's descendants? Due to their red-eyes thingy, also making Emerald somehow be Qrow's daughter
i have and it irritates me so much because none of the ozlem girls inherited any grimm features: all four of her canonical children came out blonde with teal, green, or dark brown eyes. they resembled their father and pre-grimm salem. if we’re doing crack headcanons about characters being descended from salem on the basis of physical traits, we should be looking for characters who resemble human salem and her actual children.
which means there is Only One True Option.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the only reasonable conclusion we can draw from this is that boob windows are genetically heritable. thank you for coming to my tedtalk.

"Grimm" is a five-part story from Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight from 2002 and I kind of absolutely lost my mind over it because there was just so much validating everything I've always thought about these two. The premise is typical comics shenanigans, there's a Mother Grimm who is stealing street kids and abused children away to this fantastical underground carnival to let them live a whimsical life, where they're loved and cared for--which Dick falls into because he's clashing with Bruce, who is freaking out because he's worried that he's turning Dick into a mirror version of himself. The story is woven through with Alfred gently trying to push (which I've been losing my shit about here and here because this is exactly what I read comics for) both Bruce and Dick into acknowledging that they're becoming father and son--but it's clear that both of them are terrified of stepping into those roles, Bruce because he doesn't know how to raise a kid and he's afraid he's hurting more than helping, Dick because he's not sure Bruce even wants him around as Robin, much less as Dick Grayson, but you watch the way Alfred barely has to nudge them and you see them both start to lean into the idea before they get scared again and jump back into saying they're partners and friends instead. And it's so validating because it's the good stuff--Dick running away because he feels like Bruce doesn't want him, Bruce coming home to tell him that he's going to find Dick a new family because he's scared he's molding this kid into himself but he can't because Dick's already run off, but when Dick says he's going to stay with Mother Grimm, Bruce looks gut-punched like he can't actually believe Dick would leave. Meanwhile, Bruce tries to leave, but Mother Grimm secretly doses him with psychotropic drugs which send him into hallucinations about how he's dragging Dick into this violent world of his, and how he's setting him up for death, that because Bruce didn't die with his parents, now he's trying to get this kid--this kid who mirrors him in so many ways--killed instead. And it's all just so much terror at the thought of letting someone else in after their losses--Bruce because he's scared of losing more people, Dick scared because he's not sure he's wanted, and it'll take years yet for them to actually put anything into words, so instead they settle for "partners" and it might feel unsatisfying and half-assed, except honestly Dick Grayson and Alfred Pennyworth were working miracles here. There's plenty of room for other interpretations, including soft dad!Bruce who eagerly embraces the idea (and it's not too far off from this, this Bruce very clearly does want that, he's just scared and so he keeps chickening out), but this is where I live, this is why Dick Grayson is so fundamentally important to Bruce Wayne's story, that neither character is complete without the other. Bruce Wayne is a character who lost his entire world on that night he was eight years old and didn't know how to grow beyond it for so long, and how do you make a character arc like that satisfying? How do you take a character that is defined by a child's loss of his parents, that shapes everything of who he came to be, and make a satisfying conclusion?
You do it by making him a father to a child who needs him. A child who mirrors him, where they could bring out the worst in each other--and sometimes they do tend to slide into those fears getting the better of them--but instead Bruce struggles his way to being someone who openly admits that he's fallible, he makes mistakes, but he loves his kid and he is a father, that he needs to step up. I've been reading a lot of Bruce & Damian comics lately and it's been striking me how different Bruce is--he's still emotionally constipated, but he understands that he has to get in there, set boundaries, set rules, and make sure the kid knows that he's proud of them. Has to be the adult that looks past the scared kid's bravado and harsh words, to see the vulnerability underneath.
Bruce could never have done any of what he's doing with Damian currently without THIS RIGHT HERE. Without the yearning for something he doesn't know how to put into words (even when Alfred basically spells it out for him), without Dick Grayson bringing light and love into his life, without Dick being such a bright and loving child who was still scared that he wasn't wanted, so Bruce has to open up and learn to start actually saying what he means.
You don't get Bruce & Damian (or Bruce & Jason or Bruce & Tim) without Bruce & Dick first. You don't get any of that without Bruce's relationship with Dick making him put his fears into words and learning to trust his heart to this kid, step by step.
Bruce and Dick's relationship being rocky in the early days isn't a mark against how much Bruce loved that kid, but instead a sign of just how miraculous it was that Dick Grayson got him this far in the first place. Dick Grayson had to be the first, because you don't get to current day Bruce Wayne with any of his other kids without him. (Overall, this was a fairly silly comic that was very much of its era, but I thought it was a great read because it really nailed how hard it was for them to even begin to approach the idea of Bruce being a dad, he couldn't even say it at the end of all this, despite that he literally pulled the most dad move of all time by waiting in the dark for his kid to sneak back in and basically tell him he was grounded. GOD THEY ARE SO EMOTIONALLY CONSTIPATED AND IT'S SO DELICIOUSLY FUN.)

How did you come to the conclusion that Cinder doesn't like to be touched? I did not notice this at all. Does this mean that Cinder actually fears being close to people?
Watch her scenes and simply pay attention and draw your own conclusions.
Two off the top of my head, Watts touches her and she burns him, another is Emerald taking the Grimm hand ('Shadow Hand') and she recoils from the touch.
Given the fact that she's been tortured onscreen, she probably has a complicated relationship to physical touch in general. Rhodes pats her on the head when he dies, too, so there's not a great association there.
Cinder fears being close to people, yes. I think this is an inherent wound to the character. She doesn't let anybody in. The question is, of course, what character is able to overcome these narrative obstacles.

Twisted Wonderland Analysis (Tarot Card Offical Countdown Art)
Tumblr media
Ace (23) and Duce (22)- No cards (in Major Arcana), The fool(s). Meaning new beginnings, having faith in the future, being inexperienced, not knowing what to expect, having beginner's luck, improvisation, and believing in the universe.
Normal:  Beginnings, Innocence, Leap of faith, Originality, Spontaneity
Upside down/reversed: Chaos, Folly, Lack of direction, Naivety, Poor judgment, Stupidity
I’m going to think Ace and Deuce are both the fool. I’m sure that they will the strongest card (the ace of spades). So the card confirms that they will be. In central Europe, the fool is the 22nd and the strongest card, which confirms this theory more.
They are both the first students MC interacts with (without Grimm), which is the “new beginnings”
In the commercial of the Heartslabyul arc, you can see Cater and Trey on the edge of the screen showing most of their faces. But Ace and Duce show only show half of their Faces. This isn’t really about the card “The Fool” but it could mean they will be an odd card up the sleeve
My card is in black, white, and red as well, so I think I used the right version, just because the cards’ color and the color of the Heartslabyul dorm are alike if not similar. (Ace=red and Deuce=black in my opinion)
In my version “the fool” has a crown in their hand. So I can conclude that the crown symbolizes “power”, I think he’s trying to communicate with someone who is higher than him (gods, rulers, etc.) using it. And the stick he’s holding represents fertility, which has a strong correlation to “trickster”, and the ends of the stick can also correlate to having two opposite ends (figuratively). Thus, it means that the person symbolizes being a fool, but they still have a side that calculates a plan. So it can also mean that the person, while not having a plan, still has a plan (Wikipedia, and yes, it's confusing sorry.)
Rook calls MC “Trickster Yuu-Kun”. The name does confirm this theory (fool=trickster). (”Trickster”- one who has two sides, the one who will change the story) And it is MC, Duce, and Ace that make a huge impact on the story.
Cater Diamond (21)-  The World Za Warudo; represents an ending to a cycle of life, a pause in life before the next big cycle beginning with the fool. It is an indicator of a major and inexorable change, of tectonic breadth.
Normal: Achievement, Perfection, Fulfillment, Possibilities, Successful conclusions
Upside down/reversed: Delayed success, Failed plans, Lack of completion, Stagnation
Cater's last name is “Diamond”. Diamonds are the hardest jewel and are called the “king of all gemstones”, but they are also very brittle.
Cater is a very optimistic character, but he is also secretly very insecure about himself, so he hides his true self and acting the “perfect and strong diamond” to public
Trey Clover (20)-  Judgement; time of resurrection and awakening, a time when a period of our life comes to an absolute end making way for dynamic new beginnings.
Normal:  Awakening, Decision making, Redemption, Reincarnation, Renewal, Transition
Upside down/reversed: Poor logic, Poor or hasty judgment, Self-doubt, Stagnation
Trey didn’t stop Riddle when he was making unreasonable rules (poor judgment), which caused riddle to overblot, and this makes him have stagnation with his judgment.
But, the card means “renewal” which could represent his unique magic (Doodle Suit overwrites with what one imagines)
Riddle Rosehearts(19): The Sun; The card portends good fortune, happiness, joy and harmony. It represents the universe coming together and agreeing with your path and aiding forward movement into something greater.
Normal: Enlightenment, Joy, Marriage, Material happiness, Success, Vitality
Upside down/reversed:  False impressions, Lack of clarity, Low Vitality, Sadness
When people first think of the sun, they tend to think of Kalim. But in this case with the Marseille cards, Riddle is the perfect fit for it.
In the Marseille card of the tower, it looks like the “sun” is spewing out what looks like flames to the tower removing the crown-like top, which may be a reference for Riddle’s unique magic, “Off with your head.”
In the Savannaclaw arc, Riddle managed to stop Leona from overblotting too soon. Also, Leona’s overblot form uses nature, While 2 of the dorm SSR cards are fire-based, which makes him have an advantage over Leona
In his past, he was raised very strictly, which may also make him symbolize “sadness”
Jack Howl(18): The Moon; the card of illusion and deception, and therefore often suggests a time when something is not as it appears to be. Perhaps a misunderstanding on your part, or a truth you cannot admit to yourself.
Normal: Deception, Difficult period, Fear, Hidden things, Insecurity, Mental confusion
Upside down/reversed: Insomnia, Mysteries unveiled, Release of fear, Unhappiness, Unusual
In the Savannaclaw arc, he was disappointed in Leona, whom he thought he was above doing those things (difficult period and hidden things).
After he and Ruggie were able to respect Leona again after the overblot and Leona can try his best. (Release of Fear)
His unique magic and hair do have some elements of “The Moon (a transformation like a werewolf (unusual)
At night, he (the moon) and “the stars” are the only ones near the height of “The Tower”
Ruggie Bucchi(17): The Star; you are likely to find yourself feeling inspired. It brings renewed hope and faith and a sense that you are truly blessed by the universe at this time.
Normal: Astronomy, Good health, Hope, Inspiration, Opportunities, Spirituality
Upside down/reversed: Despair, Disappointments, Illness, Missed opportunities
In the Savanna Claw arc, said something about opposing people's thoughts but he was disappointed when Leona said they could never be first.
After the overblot he has hope that he and Leona, the king he chose, can win the Magical shift tournament next year
Ruggie is the star, so he will not leave “The Tower’s” side (Leona)
Leona Kingscholar(16): The Tower; commonly interpreted as meaning danger, crisis, destruction, and liberation. It is associated with sudden unforeseen change.
Normal:  Accident or damage, Catastrophe, Destruction, Renovation, Unexpected
Upside down/reversed: Illness, Losses, Obstacles, Volatile situation
I don’t know if you’ve heard about this theory, but there is a theory that Leona is an important person in the ‘infinite loop theory’, and that's why he is repeating the grade, to break the loop.
In the opening, you see him standing in a very high place, which could represent the tower.
Floyd Leech(15)- The Devil;  being seduced by the material world and physical pleasures. Also living in fear, domination and bondage, being caged by an overabundance of luxury, discretion should be used in personal and business matters.
Normal: Bondage, Enslavement, Fear, Feeling trapped, Materialism, Temptation, Unhealthy relationships
Upside down/reversed: Breaking from addictions, Divorce, Freedom from restraints
Bondage, enslavement, feeling trapped... Floyd hates shackles, which I assume is “bondage”
Floyd is usually hard to read like the card, as well as being a free-minded character.
Jade Leech (14)- Temperance; indicates that you should learn to bring about balance, patience, and moderation in your life. You should take the middle road, avoid extremes and maintain a sense of calm.
Normal:  Alchemy, Balance, Connecting with your guides, Harmony, Looking for divine intervention, Moderation
Upside down/reversed: Disharmony, Imbalance, Lack of patience, Onset of illness
Jade seems like a patient man, but the card says differently. If we see the ceremonial robes SSR cards, you can see that Riddle would agree that Jade is not what meets the eye. Yeah, Trey you need new glasses
Jade is probably holding back his true self; In the card, there’s an angel-like figure who has wings. Maybe, it’s suggesting the idea that Jade seems like an angel, but he’s just a demon in disguise.
Azul Ashengrotto (13)-Death; Unlikely that this card actually represents a physical death. Typically it implies an end, possibly of a relationship or interest, and therefore implies an increased sense of self-awareness.
Normal: Endings, Failure, Letting go of attachments, Mortality, Profound change, Severe illness
Upside down/reversed: Delayed endings, Depression, Living unaware, Long terminal illness, Resistance to change
In the Octavinelle arc it goes: Letting of his past (attachments and depression)> Taking away other’s power because of his unfair deals (endings)> his contracts become sand> Overblot. Then after the overblot he has restarted his career  (Profound change)
In a wider sense, he literally symbolizes death. In the Scarabia arc, because he came, Jamil overblotted (Ending, Bad in this case).
Jamil Viper (12)-  The Hanged Man; the card that suggests ultimate surrender, sacrifice, or being suspended in time.
Normal:  Breaking old patterns, Circumspection, Letting go, Metamorphosis, Suspension
Upside down/reversed: Egotism, Inability to change, Missing an opportunity
Jamil sacrificed so much. He killed his own feelings and was suspended in time (in some sense), incapable to change, and wanted to be king, but in the end it all went to waste (missed an opportunity)
Kalim Al-Asim (11): Strength; predicts the triumphant conclusion to a major life problem, situation or temptation through the strength of character. It is a very happy card if you are fighting illness or recovering from injury.
Normal: Confidence, Enjoying power, Inner strength, Potency, Self-belief, Virility, Vitality
Upside down/reversed: Hedonism, Lack of self-control, Lacking courage, Self-doubt, Vanity
In this case, I would say that this is most likely, represented by, Kalim’s unique magic. Oasis maker requires him little effort while being very powerful. Depending on how he uses it, it could end up even killing people.
His personality says most of the reversed card, he holds many parties (hendonism) and he get’s Jamil to do most of his dorm leader work.
Epel Felmier (10)- Wheel of Fortune; common aspect to most interpretations of this card within a reading is to introduce an element of change in the querent's life, such change being in station, position or fortune: such as the rich becoming poor, or the poor becoming rich.
Normal: Chance, Changes, Destiny, Luck, Opportunity, Winning
Upside down/reversed: Bad luck, Disappointment, Misfortune, Mishap, Unforeseen setback
In the game he has an achievement (?) called “the pretty boy with thin luck”, I think fate will work for him this time, and he gets to challenge Vil (Change and chance)
His fate with MC and the others will change in the future is what I also think.
Rook Hunt (9)- The Hermit; suggests that you are in a phase of introspection where you are drawing your attention inwards and looking for answers within. You are in need of a period of inner reflection, away from the current demands of your position.
Normal: Introspection, Meditation, Self-reflection, Solitude, Soul-searching, Withdrawal from society, Helper
Upside down/reversed: Exile, Loneliness, Misfit, Sadness, Withdrawing from loved ones
The normal ones are basically his personality
Rook is a character to help understand Vil, such as in the Lab Coat story.
Literally, his unique magic is called "I see you"
He did not help Vil, being the one who was always loyal to him in the Pomfiore arc.
Vil Schoenheit (8)- Justice; indicates that the fairest decision will be made. Justice is the sword that cuts through a situation, and will not be swayed by outer beauty when deciding what is fair and just.
Normal: Balance and equilibrium, Cause and effect, Fairness, Justice, Responsibilty
Upside down/reversed: Dishonesty, Imbalance, Lack of accountability, Legal flaws, Unfair treatment
Vil is very unfair to people, such as Epel,
He also does acept other’s opinion if they are actually trying, such as Jack in his Gym Uniform story.
He does judge people all the same (but he doesn’t like people that don’t put effort)
Other than the “fair” in the card it can also mean “fair” as in beauty; His counterpart is known for using the word in that meaning
“Mirror, mirror, on the wall who is the fairest of them all?”
Ortho Shroud (7)- The Chariot; card about overcoming conflicts and moving forward in a positive direction. One needs to keep going on and through sheer hard work and commitment he will be victorious.
Normal: A journey, Ambition, Confidence, Drive, Overcoming obstacles, Will power
Upside down/reversed: Lack of direction, Scattered energy, Self-doubt, Going out of control, Selfish
Othro is the only one in the whole countdown who is upside down, hence making all the meanings reversed.
If you pay close attention to his personality he is some what selfish, such as him unleashing his beam.
Idia Should (6)- The Lovers; represent relationships and choices. Its appearance in a spread indicates some decision about an existing relationship, a temptation of the heart, or a choice of potential partners. Often an aspect of the querent's life will have to be sacrificed; a bachelor(ette)'s lifestyle may be sacrificed and a relationship gained (or vice versa), or one potential partner may be chosen while another is turned down. Whatever the choice, it should not be made lightly, as the ramifications will be lasting.
Normal: Being at a crossroads, Choices, Commitment, Falling in love, Partnerships
Upside down/reversed: A broken relationship, Infidelity, Relationship issues, Separation
The relationship is his relationship with Ortho.
He made a choice in the past that he should have not made lightly. aka the one that lead to his brother's death
Sebek Zigvolt (5)- The Hierophant/Pope; seen seated on a throne between two pillars symbolizing law and liberty or obedience and disobedience. He wears a triple crown, and the keys to Heaven are at his feet.
Normal: Education, Learning, Marriage, Religion, Seeking counsel or advice, Spiritual guidance, Tradition, Trust
Upside down/reversed: Abuse of position, Breakdown, Poor counsel, Rejection of family values
He may as well breakdown because of his loyalty to Malleus
He holds the stick like the card in the left hand.
He worships Malleus (religion) and he trusts him too much
Silver (4)- The Emperor;suggestive of stability and security in life. You are on top of things and everything in under your control. It is your hard work, discipline and self control that have bought you this far. It means that you are in charge of your life now setting up your own rules and boundaries.
Normal: Authority, Father figure, Law and order, Leadership, Power, Promotion
Upside down/reversed: Control freak, Immaturity, Lack of discipline, Loss of authority, Manipulative friends
Silver is based on a non-villan character and protects Malleus. His non-elemental magic is light
He is going to be the axis of the story; he said “I think I have met you before”
The card resembles the picture very much
In his lab coat story, he holds a book that is the exact opposite color of what others have.
He does bring order within the Diasomnia arc
Lilia Vanrouge (3)- The Empress; traditionally associated with maternal influence, is the card if you are hoping to start a family. She can represent the creation of life, romance, art, or new business.
Normal: A new opportunity, Abundance, Maternal care, Nurturing, Pregnancy, Stability, futility
Upside down/reversed: Domestic problems, Financial issues, Stagnation, Unwanted pregnancy
Lilia is the father figure of Malleus and Silver
His talent is lullabies (nurturing)
It also can mean fertility, unknown, and time (apparently idk)> symbolizing his long life. Unknown> What we see is an altered appearance? fertility> He literally hatched Malleus
Malleus Draconia (2)- The High Priestess; a card of mystery, stillness, and passivity. This card suggests that it is time to retreat and reflect upon the situation and trust your inner instincts to guide you through it. Things around you are not what they appear to be right now.
Normal: Hidden talents, Intuition, Mystery, Spiritual insight, Things yet to be revealed
Upside down/reversed:  information withheld, Lack of personal harmony, Secrets
Literally Maleficent. nothing else
Might hold some of the keys?
What I can say now is that he needs to retreat and reflect because what he did in chapter 7 is not nice.
Dire Crowley (1)- The Magician; it points to the talents, capabilities and resources at the querent's disposal to succeed. The message is to tap into one's full potential rather than holding back, especially when there is a need to transform something.
Normal: Determined, Dexterity, Resourceful, Skilled, Strong powerful man
Upside down/reversed: Communication blocks, Confusion, Deceit, Ill intentions, Lack of energy
By looking at the card and characters, then the most reasonable to think that will betray us is him
He may be the person who made the world of Twisted Wonderland. (There was a black magician named Crowley in Britain)

These are from their respective sources, mainly for personal reference

ok time for crazy person rambles right now
so like in why do ghouls fall in love i noticed something "all i remember is looking into his puppy dog eyes and never wanting to look away" and with the framing of the next shot it seems to imply that the spell causes her to be naturally drawn to clawds eyes.
but wait? doesn't she bring up another guys eyes all the time?
Tumblr media
CUPID'S OBSESSION WITH DEXTER IS CAUSED BY A LOVE SPELL.
ok so there is so much to go over here:
cupid's crush on dexter comes out of nowhere based only on seeing a picture where dexter ISN'T wearing glasses
dexter is canonically able to charm people with his pretty eyes, normally the glasses negate the effect but further evidence makes me believe it still works under certain circumstances, specifically if the person is looking for his eyes.
the first time we see cupid fantasise about dexter, his eyes are the focus of the shot. in fact later in thronecoming we see her idealized version of him has none of his actual personality so im pretty sure even if her crush isn't caused by a spell then its at least just really superficial lmao
she becomes really obsessive in a way that isn't normal for her to behave, monster high cupid loved to help others find true love and didnt let her feelings get in the way of that, but that completely changes with dexter. she knows he doesn't love her and that his crush on raven is mutual, but she still tries to get with him again and again. and then there's the stalker-ish pictures, the pages full of nothing but doodles of him, the subtle manipulation to endear herself to him. all of it screams wrong, raven literally notices this change and gets worried but cupid brushes it off saying she just has a crush, but does that really work as an explanation when its gone this far?
So what is my conclusion? I believe something happened that night in the attic, i don’t know what, but thats when this all started.
But i also have another possibility: while she was in fact charmed by his eyes, the fact that she was having a identity crisis at the same time caused her to latch onto her crush to prove she’s right, this is why its so obsessive. She’s desperate to fit in to some sort of happily ever after that she latched onto the first prince she showed any signs of interest in, magically induced or not. Now i can go on a long tangent on how i think Cupid is trying to force her way into being a fairytale, which includes her possibly tampering with the large storybook of legends (why was she chilling on top of it? Why did it show a story for her when she has none?)
but its 10 in the morning and i just woke up so we are not doing that.
Anyway no matter how i split it, i think she’s love spelled. Most likely not in the exact way her arrows work but a lesser version either entirely caused by dexters charming power or another sinister force ( lets be honest its either the evil queen again or fucking milton grimm like always.)
Or of course cupid is just going through like a midlife crisis, could be that tbh wouldn’t be surprised 🫠 (wait can you call it a midlife crisis if its unknown if its even the middle of your lifespan? Like this chick has no idea how long she has this could be like a quarter life crisis or a 0.2% life crisis- hmm)
