so dani is like, absolutely terrible and horrific at making drinks in general, right? like it's canon that her cups of tea/coffee are so bad it could kill a man, but can you think about jamie being EQUALLY terrible at cooking? jamie either sets the fire too high or too low and ends up setting off the alarm half the time.

the worst part about jamie is that she does NOT give up because what would happen to her pride and dignity? she survived a haunted mansion with some vengeful, throat-thirsty ghost but she can't cook some chicken corpses????? really? so she runs through like 5 eggs and almost like, sets the place on fire before she cooks even half an edible one. but it works out because dani is actually great at cooking and jamie makes phenomenal cups of tea!!!

- Owen had told you not to stay in the house after dark and you had listened

- Like clockwork, when the sun began to set, you packed up and left the manor 

- The rest of the house knew this routine and how strictly you stuck to it

- But they also knew of your fondness for the children

- If Dani needed extra help, you were happy to jump at the chance, and you often entertained the kids with Owen in the kitchen 

- Kids were your weakness, you had said when applying for the job

- The residents of Bly, dead or alive, knew this

- Peter Quint knew this, as well, meaning he knew you posed a threat to his (and to a lesser extent, Miss Jessel’s) plans to continue inhabiting the bodies of the children

- Owen had left the manor much earlier that day, needing to handle some business with his mother’s estate in town

- He had held your face between his hands, looking you directly in the eyes, and begging you to come home before dark, and you agreed

- However, things in the manor seemed to be moving particularly slowly that day, and you quickly lost track of time

- When you finally looked at the clock, you gasped, gathering your things, ready to rush out of the door—

- Until you heard a scream upstairs

- Flora, it sounded like

- You raced up the stairs, taking her in your arms and asking her what was wrong

- She shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks, her brother behind her, shouting “No!” 

- Just then, you saw the front door burst open, the Lady in the Lake’s empty face looking back at you

- Her soaked gown left a trail behind her

- Frozen in shock, you were unable to move besides pushing Flora out of the way

- The last thing you saw was Owen looking on in horror as he entered the foyer from the kitchen entrance, and the last thing you heard was your lover’s voice screaming out for you as the cold, wet hands of the Lady squeezed the life out of you

You were hired as the new au-pair after rebecca died

Owen picked you up to bring you over to bly

He was very charming and kind

Talking the whole time and answering any questions you had, even offered to give you  a tour of the small village 

Eventually he asked you out after work one day, he was nervous about it too- which was a emotion he rarely possessed

You went to dinner at a small italian restaurant that he said was to die for

“ their pizza is even better than mine!”

“Like that could be true-”

It became an often occurrence for you to go out after work, hannah offering to watch the children for the night

One night you came down to the kitchen to say goodnight to Owen before he left, but he wasn't there.

What was there was a medium sized pink and yellow frosted cake with the question “will you be my girlfriend/boyfriend/partner?” in a neat script with sprinkles all over it . 

A cough caused you to look up and owen was standing there with a nervous expression 

After saying yes he fixed his demeanor, and you enjoyed a slice of cake bigger than your head in front of the fireplace with Owen, you couldn't be more at peace.

Dates with owen would often include extravagant home cooked meals or picnics in the woods

Most of the time he would make enough food for a small family- so sometimes you'd pack some leftovers away so that flora and miles could have crepes for breakfast 

Offering to help him take care of his mom-

He started crying when you asked if he needed any help and offered to pick up her medicine 

In turn he would help you teach lessons to the children or just help with making sure they didn't drive you insane

If the manor started to scare you at night owen would drive over so you wouldn't be alone

You'd stay up baking or watching old movies

Sometimes hed look under the bed and “scare away the bogeyman”

Going for long walks in the statue garden>

When his mom died you made sure to always be there for him , but give him space if he needed it. Made sure he still got food in and a decent amount of sleep, helping with funeral prep when he was too out of it., ect.

After the whole “lady in the lake incident” he asked you to marry him, there's no way he was going to wait any longer- he knew that tomorrow was never promised.

You got married in the forest on bly , it was a small wedding but beautiful nonetheless 

You went to Paris for your honeymoon,  and then decided to stay there for good.

Owen opened up his restaurant and you offered to be the maitre d’ 

Life was simple in Paris with Owen , but it was the best life you could ask for , you were happy and Owen was even happier.

I LOVED THE JEMMA painting headcanon you have!!!! I just love how lovesick Julian is for EVERYTHING Emma does.

My fav HC of theirs is that they are so synced they are almost telepathic. They’re not, but they know each other so well and can sense each other so well it’s almost like they are. 🤪

Another fav HC is that they share skincare products. Emma got really invested in skincare during quarantine, and what Emma does Julian wants to test out as well. And he got super invested as well ever since.

Sorry, if my question is kinda dumb, but why do you love Bungou Stray Dogs? What made it special for you?

Absolutely not a dumb question!

I started BSD because I heard the characters were based on famous authors and I'm obsessed with books.

It scratches a very particular itch I have which is media that is love letters to other people's work. Mike Flanagan's 'Haunting of Hill House', 'Haunting of Bly Manor' and 'The Fall of House Usher' all scratch the same itch.

It's introduced me to new authors, I'd have never read Dazai Osamu's works without BSD. I wouldn't have tried reading poets like Arthur Rimbaud without BSD. I was in a huge reading slump when I started BSD and now I'm back reading again.

It's very character driven, which I like in my stories. I like that I can pull so many themes from the real author's works and see how they're woven into the story itself. There's lots of loose threads to theorise about, even if I'm completely wrong about them, it's still fun to theorise.

I like stories that focus on characters who struggle with their place in the world, with being okay with taking up space and choosing to live. Characters who do terrible things and try to be better. Who go through haunting experiences and still try to see the hope in the world. BSD has plenty of these characters.

And how creative the fandom is certainly helped! There's so much beautiful art out there, I love reading through other people's analysis', theories and headcanons. I've received such overwhelming positivity from people since I started this blog it really has made BSD something truly special to me.
