content: leo valdez x daughter of hypnos! reader warning: none, i don't think author's note: so so soft, i love this one so much. i also realized too little too late that you said child, instead of daughter. but i had kinda already written it in a female manner, which i feel so bad about!!! and i almost wrote this as hcs when you said blurb ugh this ask has taken so many turns lol AND I WAS SO EXCITED FOR THIS ONE BC I AM BUT A SLEEPY GIRL IN A NOT SLEEP WORLD also i should wait to post this one for sunday bc like the vibes, but i dont have that kinda patients

sunday mornings were set aside for lovers, that much you were certain. so many songs sang of it, so it must be true. 'a sunday kid of love' by etta james. 'sunday morning' by maroon 5. i mean, you get the point, right?

those were the few mornings you allowed yourself to actually sleep in before another long week, cuddled up on leo's chest. waking up slowly and softly felt like going to church; something scared that even the gods couldn't touch, some repetition that kept away the mundane and boring. something holy to believe in, to dive head first into.

"morning, sleepy head," leo mused, in that early morning voice that always left you buzzing. you didn't reply, just squeezing closer to his side as he pressed his kisses to your temple.

"whatcha want for breakfast?" he breathed out, his eyes resting closed but a soft smile on his lips as his fingers flirted with your sleep tank top and the waist band of your matching shorts. even though you were a daughter of hypnos, it never failed to amazing leo how many matching pajama set you had or how you always managed to look godlike in them. he's never seen someone make sweatpants work as well as you do.

"you already know what im gonna say," you muttered against leo's neck and he could feel as your lips twitched upwards into a tiny smile.

"pancakes coming right up, princess," leo hummed, though he didn't move an inch. he wasn't quite ready to leave the soft bed or, more importantly, you.

"i make the coffee and tea, you make the pancakes?" you offered, eyes drooping as you continued to lay against his chest. these positions in the kitchen were already set in place, but you always asked. and leo always hummed back, like he did today. still, no movement from either of you in the bed for a few more minutes.

"we gotta get up," you yawned out, forcing yourself to sit up and attempting to escape the bed but leo jolted forwards, wrapping his arms around you and dragging you back into the bed. not that you gave much of a fight.

"in a few. shush, sleeping boy here," joked leo, pressing a kiss to your shoulder before snuggling back into his pillows. you brought your fingers up to where leo's arms were, ghosting them over the skin there before smiling to yourself, determined to show leo your new trick.

you could feel leo shift from behind you as you tapped this pattern, smiling to yourself as you could basically hear the cogs in his brain turning.

"we don't have to do anything, this is our house," leo huffed but you could hear the smile in his voice as he leaned over you, looking into your eyes with so much adoration in his own, "and when did you learn that, huh?"

you just smiled up at him, reaching your hand up to his cheek and beginning to tap your fingers there.

Could you expand on your dislike for the Raphael!Crowley headcanon? I'm fairly certain I know why but your meta posts are always so thoughtful and articulate and I would love to hear your thoughts on the topic

And yeah I'm happy to! I mean first I should say that I don't actually like, hate-hate it in fanfic, it's not like an instant back-button for me if it comes up, and I feel like I've seen one or two fics after season 1 where I thought it was fine and it didn't take me out of the story.

But yeah in general I just don't like Crowley being special lol. I like the book vibe where Crowley and Aziraphale are just two... not quite nobodies, given their roles in Eden and the spy allegory of the present day, but certainly not particularly powerful or impressive demon/angels. Crowley and Aziraphale's "superpowers," such as they are, are just their adaptability thanks to living on Earth so long. That's what defines them compared to the rest of Hell and Heaven and sets them apart as uniquely capable of giving a fuck and doing something about the apocalypse. Eg Hastur and Ligur are explicitly more powerful than Crowley, but Crowley escapes them by the skin of his teeth because he's able to break convention by weaponizing holy water, and he's familiar with technology, and more capable of thinking on his feet in general.

I like that all their uniqueness comes from living on Earth with humanity. It resonates with the thematic core of the story, it's fun, and it's interesting. Crowley now being able to perform super impressive miracles and casually resurrect people (something presumably not every angel can do since Aziraphale can't resurrect Edinburgh girl) and read heaven's secret files and potentially stop time in season 1 because he's a former archangel diminishes that vibe to me.

Another con of Raphael!Crowley as a headcanon is that a lot of the time, ime, it feels similar to lost scion of royalty headcanons in other fandoms in an unpleasant way - the way that kind of leans into the idea of someone being inherently superior and worth more by birth (or creation I guess in an angel's case lol). I don't think this is necessarily inherent to the headcanon, or an aspect I think Gaiman will definitely emphasize, but there is that worry lol, especially considering how gary stu-ish Crowley felt to me this season.

Like, why is him being a former archangel meaningful or significant at all? Why does the headcanon exist? What makes Raphael!Crowley different enough from Random Angel #2398!Crowley that it's even brought up as a character detail or plot point that excites people? And I'm not implying that there are no valid reasons (eg exploring why a high ranking angel specifically would fall, or to add some drama for Aziraphale if he finds out and it matters to him, or to add drama between Crowley and the other archangels, etc), but quite often the vibe I get from this headcanon is that Crowley's just inherently more interesting and cool if he used to be a high ranking angel instead of some rando, which is a vibe that puts me off.

Ultimately I just tend to prefer mundane origins to surprise significant origins, and stories about average people (at least in their own context, as angels or w/e) moulded by life who make interesting plot-driving choices rather than inherently unique and special people. And Crowley being Raphael doesn't necessarily make him special, but it does lean in that direction, especially if it's treated as a surprise significant reveal and yk, a source of superpowers.

And to be fair I actually have been thinking about directions this concept could go in season 3 that wouldn't annoy me, and one is to emphasize that archangels aren't inherently special at all and it's an arbitrary designation, and Crowley doesn't give a shit and anyone who does (like other archangels or w/e) is going to be painted as naive and silly and too into hierarchies.

And/or, yk, emphasize that "Anthony Crowley" is emphatically NOT Raphael, regardless of who God created him as. Choose your own destiny. All that jazz. Especially if the Metatron is offering him angelhood again I could see former identity and status being brought into play and held up as extra significant by the antagonists and treated as something to be shut down and dismissed by the narrative, which I would enjoy.

So yeah, at the end of the day I just prefer Crowley as just some guy who happened to get the Earth Agent assignment, rather than the mysterious only fallen archangel.

#also it begs the question of why no one recognizes him since he looked the same as an angel #but that's easily handwaveable. god anonymized the fallen angels in everyone's memories or whatever #or maybe they do recognize him and no one mentions it lol #marley on good omens #text post #good omens spoilers #(lol this is probably longer than it needs to be but enh)

i love love LOVE couples where one is goth and the other is prep/pastel but the soft bright one is the vampire, that shit's so good

So much so that Steve created an entire fake history in order to pass for human and gets a Masters in Psychology and Anthropology or something

That's why he's so drawn to Eddie, like a moth to flame

Eddie had been through so much in his life but with the care of his Uncle, his band and his best friend chrissy, Eddie manages to exude so much fucking LIFE, it's INSANE

He's unpredictable, he's spontaneous, he's theatrical and he's always making sure that the people around him who like him really comfortable and entertained. And seeing him around people younger than him??? How could Steve do anything but fall?

the sully sibling bond is you’re always worried about one another (at least that’s how I feel) and I think neteyam thinks the same thing because he’ll like wake up and look around to see if we’re all still there

OMG I HAVENT TALKED ABOUT ARTS AND CRAFTS WITH THE SULLYS YET

so you see that little doll thing tuktuk is playing with in the beginning of the movie is an example of stuff we make together. it doesn’t have to be toys tho there’s all sorts of things you can make, my favorite thing to make (other then dolls) are something that are called nahria which is like this little trinket that brings you good luck (i’m sorry this is just a bad explanation but I hope you get what I mean)

but you see being a sully sibling you’re gonna be harassed by them every day like I have never gotten slapped by anyone more then them and neteyam is heavy handed as hell shit hurts he’ll leave a mark on you

also the endless scaring which I take part of shamelessly but all of them are so good at it especially since being able to move quickly and quietly is a very valuable skill when you’re a navi so yk watch out you might just have a big ass blue alien jump out at you and your heart will sink into your ass

So just finished ‘happy birthday,you’ (yes obvs It’s amazing) and I’m there writing my lil review i do in my notes for all the wolfstar fics I read(and omg let me tell you I did that ao3 wrapped and I actually read 780 fics this year, I’m still contemplating whether to either be extremely proud or kinda maybe a lil bit embarrassed?) anyway so was doing this and thought it would be nice if you could see what I wrote about your fics as yes I’ve read all 5(omg but haven’t done a review on lock it down as ywah didn’t but know I read it )so yeah omg and even tho I am in my second year of an English literature degree I do write as I talk and I talk with my sweet ass adhd brain who has big fat dyslexia n yes am I the age of 20 where I deeply struggle on how to punctuate so when you read them and this I suppose keep that in mind okay good had to put that in there so Brain didn’t go over board with worry bout me now going to overshare. Btw thwse r all on my top wolfstar fics and I think 21/780 is pretty good Baso the 21 are my fav fics and ur 5(well 4 but we already established that) are in that list

Right cool “Ever thus” was the first one I read, this is what I said straight after I finished it - Ever thus - just such a good fic man LIKE MAJOR PINING but omg worth it ! And lime the friend group dynamic is so good ! And omg how they go pub all the time love it just so British and omg the roommates and best friends thing was DONE PERFECTLY like omg the banter aswell just love this fic sm ! 10/10⭐️’

Next I definitely clicked on ur profile to look for ur other works well that’s actually a lie I did it half way through reading ever thus to check you had more as wow ur writing style? So fuckin unique. So here’s JWTDO- ‘Just what the doctor ordered - urm hello THIS IS THE BEST WOLFSTAR NON HP AU IVE READ omg I CANT GET OVER IT ! ITS SO JUST BEAUTIFUL! Story seems. So good so far and I just lobe how they write ! Omg hust finished it it was amazing I love their chemistry! Omg you literally don’t find out what the world thinks of the documentary I kinda like how she ended it as Cant really do more with it like it’s a fic bout new documentary abs when that’s relased what more can you do Yk so yes ending left me satisfied 10/10 ⭐️⭐️’

1. horror. Ok here's the thing. It's less vibe-y, but it's clear as day, it really drives home the mundanity of the horror. Like it could happen to anyone is the thing, and since the thing is bright, lit normally, it drives it home. Seriously I think the horror(when done well) works better.

2. Dean and melanie. Listen. He understood her bright-eyed questions and considered them better not because she was hot(let me have this) but because they were both skeptics. Like bright eyes without the bright eyes, yk?

3. concept. Listen the concept of a cursed locket, but then it's the sister ghost and then the other sister was really fun! like it was an actual mystery, and lily dale itself(being a town of frauds, Dean feeling like fraud, Sam having to be the one that confronts the real psychic) was excellent, I liked that concept.

they were annoying as shit to deal with tho.

4. reading people! I just like that the whole idea was based on reading people(something neither of those fuckers can do) and how they, with the lies and repression, were uncomfy with it. I thought that was neat.

5. the cultural...appropriation? Like it kinda reads as "I wasn't as Flashy or Palatable so I starve and everyone else gets to be fine and profit off of what's fake versions of mine. Like..you can make the reading. The way it was done makes me uncomfy, but also that's a kind of real reading.

6. Sam(and Amy?). IT felt like Sam forgot about the fact that Amy was his friend and was more angry that Dean lied to him. But his lil Huff was in character and made sense for Anger Issues Winchester.

7. Dean's spiral(CAS). Dean's guilt spiral and trust spiral literally after Cas? Like the man is fucked, Ellen from beyond the grave is trying to tell him to shut up, and it's basically...entirely hinging on Cas and his feeling of doubt and insecurity there.
