backstory - kip was adopted by adora when she was 22, and kip was about one year old. kip believes that their bio parents hadn't want them, but doesn't want to look for them to figure it out. kip calls adora "mama" or "ma".

adora - loves her with all their heart. hurting her was devastating for them.

glimmer - essentially the cool aunt, but is sometimes wise.

bow - very sweet uncle who is a sucker for kip and gets them anything they want. adora's had a few conversations with him about it.

entrapta - kip calls her their grandma-aunt. she's still a little energetic about her science experiments, but only let's kip help if they keep safety in mind ( coat, goggles, etc. ).

mermista, perfuma, etc. - also essentially aunts to kip, but frosta's the one they're the closest to, due to the closer age gap ( despite it still being p big ).

seahawk - is a good-bad influence on kip. is the one who gives kip extra money on holidays/birthdays.

swift wind - as the horse is in more older age, he can't fly kip for as long as he'd like, but is always there for when needed. has helped kip when adora couldn't.

melog - good fren. lovely fren. kip loves melog.

hordak - no personal history, but since knowing of the history, kip's glad he's dead.

catra - ...complicated.

the horde trio - really likes hanging out with them.

scorpia - probably the wine aunt.

shadow weaver - she's dead as well, and kip doesn't personally know her, but adora's spoken about her in conflicting ways. as adora doesn't speak of her often, kip doesn't know how to feel about her.

double trouble - as they're not gross in this one, kip likes them.

wrong hordak - funny uncle!

horde prime - glad he's dead too.

My she ra rewrite ideas

Ive been thinking about this for a while and i dont think i would rewrite it, I have ideas of this rewrite so lets get started with the characters:

Adora: I would have her be olive/black (whichever you want) latina and have her hair be more wavy/curly (we were robbed of poc adora) I would also have her family motive be solved and resolved her confidence arc. Plus have her learn about how to use her s5 she ra powers more like have her make mistakes at first then get better.

Dt: I would have them be human (And poc like that one fanart) since its really rare to have non binary human representation. I would make have them be a shapeshifter through magic that they use (they had to learn about it by their grandfather who was a reptilian sorcerer) Their still greedy but i would want them to develop some care for people in the horde like the horde trio as dt gave them an out safely.

Perfuma: Have her be a latina as well, having to overcome her passive aggressiveness to others while not being outright aggressive, just having a balance of both plus her and entraptas relationship become better as closure for both. Her backstory is that most people in her kingdom including her parents are dead due to the invasion which she (she was very young at the time) and the community had to move to that place with the tree in hopes that the horde wont noticed, it explains why the town is quite small for a kingdom.

Mermista: I would have her learn to be a leader over the course of the show and be more open and kind to seahawk. Her backstory would be that her mother went to frostas kingdom to help frostas parents with how to protect themselves from the horde but she was never found. After a while, the father decides to go find his wife, ordering his assistant (who had a crush on him at the time) to take care of mermista while he goes on his mission however, her parents have died which the horde uses to its advantage by invading the kingdom that either killed people or made people move to somewhere else. Despite mermista being gloomy, she dis encourages frosta from that, encouraging her to embrace more of her kid side instead. She and frosta would have a sisterly relationship, learning from one another and sharing their personal experiences of their struggles and their past.

Frosta: I would have her be a cold traditionalist at first but then be more open and embrace a bit more of their kid side overtime, It wouldnt be like s2-5 though, just a bit while still maintaining that maturity.

Rogelio: He would mostly speak in sign language because other than dt (they would have a mini friendship in s4), everyone else in the horde doesnt understand his countries language. He remembers his life before the horde of him (around age 5), his family and his people until the horde came to invade it, so much so as to make rogelio one of the only people from his kind living as his parents beg the intruders from the horde to spare him so now rogelio is in the horde, working for the people that ruined his life. At first, hordax threatened rogelio that to not try to leave the horde or he'll be like the rest of his kind (dead) but later on, hordax does start to sympathize with rogelio, letting him and his friends leave. Despite hordax wanting to have closure with rogelio, rogelio refuses to and makes it clear that he'll never forgive hordax for what hes done and all he can do now is let him leave, so he did and he joined the rebellion with kyle and lonnie. He also deeply loves kyle (their in a queerplatonic relationship) but wouldnt stand up for him because of lonnie being his best friend but he would always try to get lonnie to be more nicer to him until he starts to stand up for kyle.

Lonnie: She looks up to adora and inspires to be like her and the two have a close friendship but with adora leaving, she felt betrayed and even through her hard work, catra happen to manage to be force captain instead (we'll get into why in hordaxs section) so she tries to lead the team in her own way instead. She was 'too blunt' to people like kyle because she thought if she was strict and honest (aka belittling/bullying), he would improve and succeed like how shadow weaver did to adora but it only stigmatizes their relationship until lonnie realises this and changes which slowly amends her and kyles relationship. When they left, they joined the rebellion and lonnie and adoras relationship would clear up misunderstandings and ammend which would blossom into a romantic relationship.

Kyle: Basically, I would have kyle stand up for himself and have scenes where he's the punching bag not a joke. Also what happened between him and bow wouldve had closure, bow would apologise to kyle for using him in no princess left behind. The two would make ammends and slowly become friends. Also him and rogelio are in a queerplatonic relationship that while kyle feels distant to rogelio at times since he use to not stand uo for him, their relationship has gotten better.

Seahawk: I wouldnt change that much about him tbh, just that he would learn to respect mermistas boundaries and maybe explore more of his insecurity of not being cool.

I swear Im not a stalker who follos you everywhere for opinion, but Im just curious, why do you hate Lonnie? Not a hate or anything, just interesting

Lonnie is just a bully to me. I personally hold a grudge against bullies, especially as I had bullies who were just like Lonnie. I hate how she treats Kyle overall. It's also implied that she bullies Catra judging by season 1, but it's kind of confusing considering Catra hit her when they were younger because she got jealous of Adora, so we don't even know what really started it all.

But other than that, I feel like Lonnie did have potential. The show just wasted her like it wasted all the other characters. I would've liked to see her friendship with Adora for instance, since she seemed pretty mad when Adora left. Some part of me does ship Adoralonnie(?), or even likes the idea of a She-Ra Lonnie AU that I saw once. I like Lonnie's character design, too.

I guess I just hate how badly written Lonnie was. I actually somewhat liked her in s4, save for some moments of her being shitty to Kyle, but she had some depth to her. It's too bad SPOP is so glaringly inconsistent that I can't bring myself to like Lonnie.

Etherian New Years Eve Traditions

The end of the long war with the Horde meant many changes for the people of Etheria, even when it came to how they celebrated their traditional holidays. For some kingdoms, bringing back the old pre-war traditions was a welcome return to the familiar while other customs had to adapt and evolve as their citizens adjusted to a world at peace.

Post Prime, Plumeria abandoned their usual drum circle and began the new year with a moment of silent reflection for all the blessings and pains of the old year and the potential of the new. As the clock ticked over, they showered each other with affection, planting kisses and hugs like seeds for future happiness.

Mystacor modified their traditional celestial display. It was still a beautiful performance in the night sky, magical lights and illusions all timed to music, but now anyone that wishes to view it can opt into the sights and sounds by drawing a simple rune on their wrist. Without the rune, the skies will appear as quiet and clear as any other night. There was enough trauma after the war without people having to worry about unexpected lights or sounds in the sky.

Before the war, the Salinean tradition was a huge pyrotechnics display, timed with a majestic water show put on by the royal family. After the war, they elected to forgo the fireworks for a more subdued celebration,  less likely to traumatize the war-weary populace. The people would work together on an open sculpture made of natural materials. Then, as the first act of the new year, the royal family would use the power of the Pearl to lower this sculpture to the bottom of the sea where it would replace some of the reefs destroyed in the war. A symbol of new life and a better future.

At least, that's how it was supposed to work.

In reality, Salineas has never actually made it to the new year without someone setting the sculpture on fire. Several years running, Mermista has had to unceremoniously chuck it into the water before it burns entirely so the fish are at least left with something. Despite increased security, this yearly prank has become something of a tradition all it's own and the royal family's disinterest in tracking down the culprit has promoted speculation that they may already know who's behind these fiery antics and rather enjoy the sport of trying to best the wayward arsonist.

(The fish, to their credit, do not seem to care one way or the other.)

The Kingdom of Snows turned their new year's celebration into a massive outdoor carnival with ice carving contests, sledding races and games. All culminating in the moment when Frosta lowered a massive ball of ice from the top of the Castle Evernight to signal the start of the new year... and then promptly retired to her chambers because it was WAY past her bedtime... er, not that she has one, of course!

The Crimson Wastes welcomed the new year as they always had: with rowdy parties and boasts about what they'll accomplish in the new year.

The resettled clones and other citizens of Dryl used the new year as an opportunity to build a tremendous collaborative contraption, it's only purpose to do something as the clocks tick over to the new year. With so many beings working together at once, the results are usually surprising, often impressive, and occasionally disastrous, but always a excellent source of informative data.

Bright Moon celebrates the new year as they have for hundreds of years: with an elaborate masquerade ball full of dancing, feasting and fun. They toast to the old year and dance in the new, culminating in a speech from the royal family who usher in the New Year with a rain of sparkles and confetti arrows.

For the former kids of the Fright Zone, the new year was never really a thing. What was the new year, but just new date to write on paperwork, another training schedule to memorize? It takes them a while to warm to the Etherian traditions of the new year, to see it as a chance to celebrate the past and work towards the promise of a better future.

Kyle, Lonnie and Rogelio settle into a quiet tradition of barbecue and board games with Imp, each year swearing that this will be the time they finally make it without falling asleep all cuddled up in a heap.

As for Catra and Adora, they spent the first few years after the war sampling all the local customs, welcoming the new year with each of their friends in turn. Finally they settled into their own tradition: making an appearance at the ball at Bright Moon to dance with their best friends and sample the party food and then back to their own quiet rooms long before midnight, preferring to start each year the way they start every day, in peaceful harmony together.

glimmer - arms length at best for a while, as beck believed that glimmer was reckless, single-minded, and not open for proper discussions. after some events, the two become friendly and eventually actual friends.

bow - good friends with him. they both bond over their ability to craft weaponry, their appreciation for technology, and overall have nice vibes. beck comforted bow in his times of anger and sadness and confusion.

entrapta - more like peers than personal friends, but the two find comfort in each other's presence. they treat each other well, and beck gets very defensive when entrapta is treated differently.

mermista, perfuma, etc. - they're friendly, but as the princesses have their own kingdoms to worry about, they're often nothing more.

seahawk - punched the guy once. their relationship has been uh...friendly since.

swift wind - he's not annoying in this one, so beck likes him.

melog - beck's friend now.

hordak - beck has a personal drive for vengeance against him and most of the horde. reasons as to why seem obvious to the rebellion, but it's something deeper for them. they don't elaborate.

catra - i mean, she ain't alive in this AU past s1-s3 ( i haven't decided yet ), lmao, but beck hated her too.

the horde trio - was on edge with them, but grew soft with kyle.

scorpia - is kinda "harsh" with scorpia, but isn't cruel. they coexist.

shadow weaver - nearly killed her too, lol.

double trouble - dt's gross, so i'm either changing that or having beck fight them.

Okay weird niche theory I just had... Lonnie Kyle and Rogelio were kinda created/propped up as replacements for the other Horde characters from 80s She-Ra who couldn't be used in the reboot like Grizzlor, Leech and Mantenna. Because in the 80s show, those three guys show up a LOT. Hell, they show up more than Scorpia and Entrapta in the 80s show. Lonnie was a pre-exsiting one episode character from the 80s show and Rogelio and the other lizards were apparently designed in homage to Tung Lashor and Rattlor (Tung Lashor might have only been allowed to be in one episode or something idk, rights issues are fucky like that.) And Kyle is... well he just Kyle lol.

You know what would be cool? If there was a rebel trio to contrast the horde trio. A group of rebel side characters that show us the point of view of typical rebel soldiers. I know there are a few rebel aligned side characters already, but they aren't NEARLY as characterized as Lonnie, Kyle, and Rogelio.
