I love dinluke because every single fanfic basically follows the plot of either Fleabag season 2 or the Sound of Music. Oh, Din’s a wealthy, powerful, and feared aristocrat/king and Luke is his son’s beautiful and fiery teacher? Boom, the Sound of Music. Luke’s a kind and devout Jedi monk and Din’s a mysterious and morally grey stranger who Luke eventually betrays his religion for by falling in love with him? Boom, Fleabag. Like my brother in Christ, every single fanfic writer just copies + pastes these two scripts into AO3 and changes the names.

i think fleabag's finale is actually up to interpretation rather than being clear cut and it's even more sad and tragic than the majority of takes read it as.

the fact that fleabag kept the statue and the priest was still being followed by the fox could mean that it will, in fact, not pass.

and when the priest was talking about love, he was talking about fleabag, not god. and the priest hated how this love made him feel - frightened, unstable, creepy, obsessed. so, instead of following his heart that would be an easy path, he made what he thought was the right choice, for both him and fleabag.

but again, he is followed by the fox that could represent either his past that he is trying to escape from or his general doubts about his priesthood. the priest, just like fleabag, is a mess who made a lot of wrong choices and it's possible that god is the wrong but easier choice, an escape, as well.

fleabag, on the other hand, is still stuck in her lonely existence, clinging to her love for her mother and boo because these two women were the only people who accepted and loved her as she is until she met the priest who left her too.

so, in short, these characters are stuck in their pasts, not able to really change anything about their lives.

for funsies i like to imagine that fleabag and good omens take place in the same universe, specifically matchmaker crowley tempting the hot priest into falling in love with with fleabag. and aziraphale knows and is like “crowley no!!” but then he sees them together and is like “… continue, i’ll put in a word upstairs and get them to not be so mad” and crowley gets soooooo upset when the priest eventually chooses God over fleabag and has to spend the night in azi’s bookshop where he watches pride and prejudice 2005 (recommended by aziraphale) to cheer him up

i also like to imagine aziraphale frequenting Hilary’s Cafe bc he thinks the guinea pig theme is charming, and drags crowley along, which is where crowley gets the idea to play matchmaker. AND OH MY GOD oh my god aziraphale would love the idea of chatty tuesdays but he would get so nervous when he actually would have to speak to people.

and he would invite fleabag to come to the whickber street shopkeepers and street traders association but she DESPERATELY tries to avoid it but eventually feels bad because she’s so attached to this eccentric man and his hot partner so she goes and drags claire along and somehow her stepmother also comes along and invites crowley to her upcoming new and improved sexhibition who is TOTALLY down
