God I would love to have seen Lieutenant Jopson actually disagree and argue with Crozier, just once.

I'd love to have seen them have a proper argument once Jopson finally had the official authority to actually speak his mind a bit more.

I can't help but wonder if, perhaps unconsciously, Crozier promoted him in small part so as to have a lieutenant who would always agree and back him up in his decisions. But Jopson, of course, is a bright lad who knows his own mind, and nothing tantalises me more than the thought of that united front just not happening.

#This is not an anti-Crozier post just to be clear #I don't actually think he promoted Jopson with any of that in mind #But I do think that time and time again it's clear that often he doesn't know or understand people half as well as he thinks he does #On the one hand it's tragic and I pity him for it #But on the other hand those misjudgements of human nature have so much potential for biting him in the arse in amusing ways #Like 'Oh you thought I'd automatically agree with you on every point like I did before?' #'Well jokes on you bitch! Character A is walking through the woods at night. It's pretty clear they're lost, and they look pretty frustrated. They keep walking anyway, listening to the ambient sounds of the forest around them. Leaves rustling, insects chirping, owls hooting, etc, etc.

Suddenly, they hear a soft snapping noise behind them, and stop in their tracks. They glance behind them briefly, looking more annoyed than scared. Then they continue walking. A moment later they hear more sounds behind them, like something is moving through the bushes. They stop again, looking even more annoyed. They take just a few more steps and hear the loudest set of noises yet, multiple branches cracking in quick succession, followed by a clumsy-sounding thud. Character A finally turns around and shouts:

"WOULD YOU QUIT FOLLOWING ME, ALREADY?!?!"

Silence. Nothing moves. Character A squints into the darkness, locates something, and says:

"You know I can see you, right? You aren't hiding very well."

Silence. Character A groans.

"Look, I know I helped you earlier and stuff, and I'm sure you're just being grateful or curious or whatever, but I'm trying to get home right now. I don't have time to deal with... whatever you are. So..."

The thing in the darkness shifts uncomfortably. Character A sighs.

"Okay, look, could you just at least stop trying to act like you're not there? Either come out and tell me what it is you want or just leave me alone, okay? I'm tired."

There's another moment of silence, before slowly, carefully, Character B comes out of the bushes, looking quite sheepish about themselves.

"Took you long enough..." Character A mutters.

(I'll leave it up to you to decide just what Character B is, what size they are, and why they're fascinated by Character A, as well as everything that happens next! Hope you enjoy!)

This post has a limited audience based on so many factors but the jewish urge to do chavruta with people who think jackie taylor is cruel or fake or devious and doesn’t love shauna shipman with her whole heart is so very strong. Like not hot takes online, there’s too much disconnect. I have read them and it always makes me MORE confused! Because we see the SAME scenes so differently! We’ve come out of the same text with such radically different knowledge! I want to crawl into your mind and sit down and look through your eyes and hear through your ears and understand how we see such different things! BUT that’s not a thing! So! I didn't realise in my first play how much Kim doesn't want Harry to know about the pale. Which is totally justified because it's very terrifying. It is probably equivalent to experiencing amnesia and forgetting the concept of death in our world. And nobody has the courage to tell you about that. You are already fucked up you wouldn't survive knowing death exist now.

Or like in our world you wake up one day and are very fucked up you don't remember anything. Then you start slowly building yourself back again learning simple things like what county you live what alphabet you use your name simple historical facts etc. and it's seems like you live in a logical universe. Everything is grounded and fine.

And bam you also learn reality you live is not solid and there is a whole ass phenomenon covering the whole world that erases reality. And it's slowly eating matter and everything and haunting you with memories of the past. Like the nothing from never ending story but more scarier. And everybody knows about this and there is nothing you can do and they already accepted this as a fact they can't accept. But it was just a fantasy for you and suddenly happened. America Europa whatever isn't actually just a continent but lands where reality is still solid and humans still can live for now before getting swallowed by the pale. And it's growing everyday more.
