i finally finished these!! i felt bad that hunter and monk didnt have their own titlescreen art, so i started on making my own for them a few months ago. nailing the official rendering made this harder than i thought haha

also, when i originally made these, i had the idea of making this into a sort of challenge for other people to make their own title art for these two. im still standing with that! if you want to take a shot at making your own version of titlescreen art for these two, go ahead! hell, tag me if you want.

wanted to practice drawing scug mouths! as well as try out a more lineless style; i like how it looks but it's kind of tedious to do when i just wanna get ideas out there LMAO

anyways, scug mouths! i think they probably vary greatly amongst members of the species, but mostly have four prominent canines. more aggressive/carnivorous scugs may have additional sharp teeth and larger jaws for mauling and tearing into prey. conversely, herbivorous scugs (saint) may have blunter teeth and do not need a wide gape.

i think the real tragedy in rain world is how slow everything moved. there is no one fixed point in the timeline where everything could've worked out, the iterators were doomed from their birth. the ancients died centuries ago, silver's ascension is but a distant memory. how long did it take for moon to collapse, in her slowly decaying structure? how long did she sit there and beg for pebbles to save her? and after her collapse how long did she wait half dead and alone for hunter to save her? was there any way out of this? a fixed point everything went wrong? no, just a slow and tedious march towards the end.

also I just love the idea of gourm being an absolute UNIT of a scug. just absolutely massive. gigantic. could crush you in his hand/paw but would probably just cook you a meal and tell you stories

i also like large saint for the sole purpose of being a warm blanket plushie thing. 99% fur 1% actual muscle and bone. very huggable just be gentle with them
