Almost thirty-four years after Donald Trump took out a full-page ad in New York newspapers calling for the return of the death penalty in the wake of the case of a group of young African-American men branded the “Central Park Five”, and a few days after Trump was charged with thirty-four felony counts, one of the now-Exonerated Five took out a full-page ad of his own. The full text follows:
BRING BACK JUSTICE & FAIRNESS. BUILD A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR HARLEM!
On May 1, 1989, almost thirty-four years ago, Donald J. Trump spent $85,000 to take out full-page ads in The New York Times, New York Daily News, New York Post and New York Newsday, calling for the execution of the Central Park Five — an act he has never apologized for, even after someone else confessed to and was convicted of the crime, the convictions of all five of us were overturned, and we were renamed the Exonerated Five.
Instead, Mr. Trump has often doubled-down. A few weeks after taking out the ad, he went on CNN and stated: "I hate these people and let's all hate these people because maybe hate is that we need if we're gonna get something done."
Even after our exoneration and acknowledgment by the government that we had been wrongfully convicted, Mr. Trump continued to incite animus against me, my peers and our families. In 2013 — over a decade after our exoneration — Trump called the Ken and Sarah Burns Central Park Five documentary "a one-sided piece of garbage," and when asked how he felt now that we were shown to be innocent, responded: "Innocent of what?"
In 2014, the City of New York finally reached a settlement with the members of the Exonerated Five, awarding at compensation to help us rebuild our lives after so many years were taken from us. But even that acknowledgement from the city wasn't enough for Trump to see five young Black and Latino men as anything other than criminals, saying "settling doesn't mean innocence."
Note, after several decades and an unfortunate and disastrous presidency, we all know exactly who Donald J. Trump is — a man who seeks to deny justice and fairness for others, while claiming only innocence for himself.
Being wrongfully convicted as a teenager was an experience that changed my life drastically. Yet I am honored when people express how deeply they connect with my story.
It matters because, while my experience may have been extreme, I have lived through a form of trauma that many of us experience in some way every day throughout our country. My past is an example of systemic oppression imposed by the injustice system.
But the problems our community faced when my name was splashed across the newspapers a generation ago — inadequate housing, underfunded schools, public safety concerns, and a lack of good jobs — became worse during Donald Trump's time in office.
I am trying to change that, by working with so many other dedicated community members to build a better future for everyone, both here in Harlem and across the country.
Here is my message to you, Mr. Trump: In response to the multiple federal and state criminal investigations that you are facing, you responded by warning of "potential death and destruction," and by posting a photograph of yourself with a baseball bat, next to a photo of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg. These actions, just like your actions leading up to the January 6 insurrection at the U .S. Capitol, are an attack on our safety.
Thirty-four years ago, your full-page ad stated, in all caps: "CIVIL LIBERTIES END WHEN AN ATTACK ON OUR SAFETY BEGINS."
You were wrong then, and you are wrong now. The civil liberties of all Americans are grounded in the U.S. Constitution, and many of us fight every day to uphold those rights, even in the face of those like you who seek to obliterate them.
Now that you have been indicted and are facing criminal charges, I do not resort to hatred, bias or racism — as you once did.
Even though thirty-four years ago you effectively called for my death and the death of four other innocent children, I wish you no harm.
Rather, I at putting my faith in the judicial system to seek out the truth. I hope that you exercise your civil liberties to the fullest, and that you get what the Exonerated 5 did not get — a presumption of innocence, and a fair trial.
And if the charges are proven and you are found guilty, I hope that you endure whatever penalties are imposed with the same strength and dignity that the Exonerated Five showed as we served our punishment for a crime we did not commit.
--Yusef A. Salaam

The Newmann Timeline
So I've made an attempt at assembling a timeline for Newt and Hermann's lives. The information is sourced from: The Pacific Rim novelization by Alex Irvine Pacific Rim: Man, Machine, & Monsters by David S. Cohen The Pacific Rim two-disc special edition DVD feature Drift Space
Wherever information was contradictory, I leaned toward info that was corroborated in multiple sources, or made more sense contextually. I had to make a couple of guesses (I note them in the timeline), but I feel pretty confident that they aren't too far off what Guillermo del Toro and Travis Beacham imagined for these characters.
Hopefully I'll be able to find more information in the future, but here's the Newmann timeline I've assembled for now:
June 9, 1989: Hermann Gottlieb born in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany.
January 19, 1990: Newt Geiszler born in Berlin, Brandenberg, Germany.
2000-2003~: Newt performs in his band, Black Velvet Rabbits. (Date's a bit of a guess, but he was in BVR before moving to America.)
2003~: Newt moves from Berlin to Boston, enters MIT. (Date is an estimation based on statement that Newt was MIT's "second-youngest student.")
2008~: Hermann enters TU Berlin to study engineering and applied sciences. (I estimate 2008~ given that there is no indication that Hermann began his higher education particularly early.)
2010: Newt begins teaching at MIT.
2013: Newt and Hermann begin writing letters to each other.
August 11, 2013: Trespasser attacks San Francisco.
2015: Newt receives his sixth PhD. Hermann joins the PPDC and writes code for the first generation of jaegers. (Note: If my earlier estimations are correct, this gives Hermann time for approximately 7~ years of university study - though there are ways to get a PhD without constant university study.)
2016: Newt joins the PPDC.
2017: Newt and Hermann meet in person, instantly dislike each other.
2020: Newt and Hermann are assigned to the Hong Kong shatterdome. (Note: This is also the year that Lady Danger went down and the jaeger program began to fail.)
January 2025: Operation Pitfall takes place; Newt and Hermann drift.

List of Speak Now TV-related Easter eggs Taylor has dropped recently (just drop it already ffs)

26 October 2020: Taylor posts this TikTok.
I really think this is a really obvious hint, but nobody ever seems to talk about it... anyways notice how the colours of the garments she points at go purple > blue > green > black?
9 November 2021: Red (Taylor's Version) signed CDs go on sale. On her website, the price $20.10 is written in purple.
12 November 2021: "Red is about to be mine again, but it has always been ours."
13 December 2021: Taylor turns 32. Her AMA award for Speak Now can be seen in this photo she posts.
20 January 2021: Taylor is named 2022 Record Store Day Ambassador. The logo uses purple text and we lose our minds.
5 May 2022: Taylor Nation drops Speak Now (and 1989) merch for some reason.
Apparently, this was to show the Speak Now trademark was still being used, but I'm still putting it here.

The koi fish guitar from the Speak Now World Tour makes an appearance.
Also, in the official YouTube video for the TSAntiHeroChallenge thing, she wears the purple dress from the Speak Now tour.

This day is the 12th anniversary of Speak Now.
Enchanted plays at the beginning.

Taylor presses the 3 button in the elevator, which is coloured purple.
The 13 button and the 13th indicator light (representing the album after Midnights) are also purple.
Taylor's hairpin says "SN".
Koi fish appears in the windows of the castle.
Long Live plays at the end.
1 November 2022: "I'm enchanted to announce my next tour..."
27 January 2023: Lavender Haze music video released.
The koi fish appears again.
29 January 2023: The official Taylor Swift 2024 calendar is shown on the publisher's website. It features photos from the Speak Now tour.

13 April 2023: Taylor says that "recently one of my albums has been on my mind a lot" before performing Speak Now.
1 May 2023: Taylor posts this. The purple heart speaks for itself.
5 May 2023: WE WON. WE FINALLY WON.

On January 30, 1989, Kenneth Lamar Noid, a mentally ill man who believed that the "Avoid the Noid" campaign was personally directed towards him and was antagonizing him, entered a Domino's restaurant in Chamblee, Georgia. Armed with a .357 Magnum, Noid then held two employees hostage for over five hours.
After ranting to the employees that the then-owner of Domino's, Tom Monaghan, was fraudulent and had stolen his name, he first forced them to call the Domino's headquarters to demand $100,000 and a white limousine as getaway transportation for him. After offering to exchange a hostage for a copy of American postmodern author Robert Anton Wilson's 1985 novel The Widow's Son, Noid reneged on his offer when an officer brought him the book. Noid then became hungry and forced the captive employees to make him two pizzas; while Noid ate the pizzas with his gun in his lap, the hostages escaped. Noid surrendered to the police shortly after. Two shots were fired by Noid during the incident.
Noid was charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, extortion, and possession of a firearm during a crime. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity. Noid subsequently spent time in a mental institution, but died by suicide on February 23, 1995. This incident was widely believed to have caused Domino's Pizza to discontinue advertising using the Noid as their mascot, but this claim has been rejected by the company and their advertisers.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAROLINE MUNRO!
Caroline Munro (born 16 January 1949 in Windsor, Berkshire) is a British actress and model best known for her many appearances in science fiction and action films of the 1970s and 1980s. According to Munro, her career took off in 1966 when her mother and photographer friend entered some headshots of her to Britain’s The Evening News “Face of the Year” contest.
Tumblr media
“I wanted to do art. Art was my love. I went to Art School in Brighton but I was not very good at it. I just did not know what to do. I had a friend at the college who was studying photography and he needed somebody to photograph and he asked me. Unbeknownst to me, he sent the photographs to a big newspaper in London. The famous fashion photographer, David Bailey, was conducting a photo contest and my picture won.”
Tumblr media
This led to modelling chores, her first job being for Vogue Magazine at the age of 17. She moved to London to pursue top modelling jobs and became a major cover girl for fashion and TV ads while there. Decorative bit parts came her way in such films as Casino Royale and Where’s Jack? (1969). One of her many photo ads got her a screen test and a one-year contract at Paramount where she won the role of Richard Widmark’s daughter in the comedy/western A Talent for Loving (1969).
Tumblr media
1969 proved to be a good year for Munro, because it was then that she began a lucrative 10 year relationship with Lamb’s Navy Rum. Her image was plastered all over the country, and this would eventually lead to her next big break.
Tumblr media
Hammer Films CEO Sir James Carreras spotted Munro on a Lamb’s Navy Rum poster/billboard. He asked his right hand man, James Liggett, to find and screen test her. She was immediately signed to a one-year contract. Her first film for Hammer proved to be something of a turning point in her career. It was during the making of Dracula AD 1972 that she decided from this film onward she was a full-fledged actress. Up until then she was always considered a model who did some acting on the side.
Tumblr media
A string of fantasy and horror roles followed, including starring turns in Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter (1973), The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1974), At the Earth’s Core (1976),  The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), StarCrash (1978), Maniac (1980), The Last Horror Film (1982), Faceless (1988), and The Black Cat (1989).
Tumblr media
By the 1990s Munro had decided to focus more on her family, daughters, Georgina and Iona, and husband George Dugdale. However, since 2003 Caroline has renewed her interest in acting and has appeared in a number of film and audio productions. Since 2021 Caroline has been presenting the hit television series The Cellar Club for Talking Pictures TV.
Tumblr media
The title First Lady of Fantasy was given to Caroline by journalist Steve Swires, who wrote many Starlog and Fangoria (@FANGORIA) articles on the actress in the 1980s and 1990s.
Tumblr media
Happy Birthday Caroline!
Official Website:  http://www.CarolineMunro.org
Representation: Thomas Bowington/Bowington Management
Some of her credits include: Dracula AD 1972 (1972), Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter (1973), The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1974), At the Earth’s Core (1976), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), StarCrash (1978), Maniac (1980), The Last Horror Film (1982), Faceless (1988), The Black Cat (1989), Flesh for the Beast (2003), Turpin (2009), Midsomer Murders (2013), The Landlady (2013), Crying Wolf (2015), Vampyres (2015), Cute Little Buggers (2016), Frankula (2017), End User (2018), House of the Gorgon (2019), The Haunting of Margam Castle (2020), Ulalume - A Ballad (2023), The Pocket Film of Superstitions (2023), and the upcoming The Presence of Snowgood (2024).

Another continuity error between show proper and J3: In The Stanchurian Candidate, Ford said that he designed a prototype (Tie of Possession) for Ronald Reagan's masters.
...Curious, since Reagan's presidency lasted January 20, 1981 – January 20, 1989.
Ford would be in the process of the creation of the portal by 1981, perhaps around June.
Where's the continuity error?
In J3, Ford wrote that he created the prototype for a college government-funded assignment...
Well, in my mind, Ford graduated and went to college in 1972 and gained at least one PhD three years early (I think it takes six years to earn a PhD) and head for Gravity Falls in 1975, which checks out with J3's timeline.
So, that means, between 1972~1975 of his time in college, Ford created the Tie of Possession prototype.
Ronald Reagan wasn't the president during this time.
It was Richard Nixon.
This was also during the Watergate Scandal (1972~1974).
It was also the end of the very infamous and very illegal CIA human experiment program, Project MKUltra (1953~1973).
I usually take J3 contents with a grain of salt since the show is more canon than the book...buuuuuuuuuuuut, since I now consider 98% of The Stanchurian Candidate a dream from the mind of a man questioning his self-worth...

Throwing vague Hobrinthian inspiration your way. You'd write them so deliciously.
Thank you!! Back in January I wrote 8K of them - I think it's honestly my favourite thing I've written or close to it <3 Just Like Love. The Corinthian comes across Hob in a hotel bar after he's stood up in 1989. Things don't go as planned.
Here's an excerpt from the continuation of that 'verse:
---
Hob Gadling isn’t his boyfriend. Hob is better. He’s a soldier, a hunter, a haunted man, and it makes every grain of the Corinthian sing to know that one of the ghosts rattling around in there is him. Of course it is. He’s memorable. Doesn’t change how good it feels, though, to have been followed across the Atlantic by something almost as hungry as him.
Hob is holding a plastic bag, and the Corinthian can smell the meat from here.
“Fresh from Lancashire,” he says, all fucking casual-like.
The Corinthian walks over, hooks a finger into the bag and pulls it open to see what it is. Black pudding, he thinks. He’s standing close to Hob, close enough to feel how Hob notices it, how his pulse quickens a little. He still smells like airports. He thinks Hob will wrap an arm around him, pull him in. Kiss him filthy right here in his kitchen. Hob doesn’t do anything but let him inspect his gift. He looks up, and pretends he’s disappointed about the offering instead. He should be.
“I’m not a fucking reptile in a terrarium. You don’t need to buy me crickets.”
“Well. Thought this was more on the mice side of the scale.” And then his face does that hideous English thing, where he’s obviously hurt but smiles and pretends he isn’t, which isn’t half as fun when it’s just his feelings. “But you don’t have to-” he starts, all fake cheer, and the Corinthian grits his eyeteeth.
“Stop making that face,” he says, and snatches the bag away. Sees too late Hob smiling a little, and realizes he was playing at being injured, just to get him to come closer. He sets it on the counter, and feels Hob close right up behind him. There’s warm breath on the back of his neck for a moment before Hob speaks.
“You sure? Maybe it’s a bit like feeding wild foxes. Shouldn’t do that.”
The Corinthian turns and uses his height to bully Hob against the fridge, presses him there, then murmurs into Hob’s ear, threatening, just the way he likes. “You think I’ll forget how to feed myself?”
Hob is already hard against his thigh and he tilts his head up, to kiss the side of his neck. His heart is thumping so steady and strong the Corinthian wonders if he’s got a bigger heart working in there, one to power all his hunger. A horse heart, crushed into his ribcage.
“Maybe I’d like it if you forgot,” Hob says. “Maybe I’d like to spoil you. Maybe I’d like you to try eating out of my hand. See if you don’t like it better, to be fed by another.” He says it flirtatiously, covering up the tenderness there with hunger, because he knows the Corinthian’s mother tongue. But he hears the tenderness in it still, and it ripples over his instincts like a different kind of threat. A different kind of snare. Still wire-sharp. He knows he’d draw blood if he struggled in it, even if Hob would let him go the moment he really did. That’s why he stills, he figures. That’s why he goes all limp, submissive.
Hob feels it. Hob knows exactly what he’s done, and he runs a soft hand over the back of his neck, like he’s tamed him. The Corinthian finally twitches away roughly.
“Kinky.” He grabs the forgotten sausage and starts slicing it to be fried. And Hob just laughs, like it was the joke they were making together all along.
---
Twenty minutes later, he’s kneeling on the floor, still wearing his apron that says #1 Grill Dad, and Hob is feeding a cut-up piece of fried black pudding to him. It’s overcooked. They’d gotten distracted. He licks a stripe across Hob’s palm and feels the small muscles twitch under his tongue. Hob’s hand withdraws, and comes back a moment later to stroke the back of his head, dull nails scraping invisible tracks along him. It feels good. He hates it, he thinks.
He leans forward, and nuzzles against Hob’s crotch. The denim chafes his cheeks. Hob groans and ruts into him, his idle hand on his head turned greedy, knotting into his hair. Hob pulls him off, and he looks up, mouth hanging open.
“You going to bite it off if I let you?” he asks.
“Will it grow back?”
Hob sucks in air through his teeth and pretends like he’s considering it too. “You want to take the chance and find out that it doesn’t?”
“Nah,” he says, and Hob laughs and unbuttons his jeans.
---
He blames it on being fucked stupid for the first time in weeks. He blames it on being dark in the room. He blames it on Hob wrapped around him from behind, possessive. “You’d really care for me, huh?”
Hob scoffs, then seems to realize he’s not fucking around. His hand comes around and finds the Corinthian’s throat, and he strokes a line along where his pulse should be. “Yeah. Yeah, ‘course I would.”
“You can’t save me, Hob,” he says.
Hob huffs a laugh against his shoulder blades. “Well, then you won’t mind me trying, will you?”

During the filming of 33 ⅓ Revolutions Per Monkee, November 1968.
Peter leaving The Monkees, post 3 of 3.
“I just basically think that I wasn’t feeling a part of it anymore already by that point, I’d already felt like I was odd man out, and of course I quit almost immediately thereafter.” - Peter Tork, Headquarters radio, 1989
“I’d always had deep doubts, ever since the session for ‘Last Train To Clarksville.’ I walked in there with my guitar and Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart looked at me with derision and scorn, like, ‘Guitar in your hand, you fool!’ That was the end of it for me. Right there I was done with The Monkees in large measure. I struggled against it with some success at one point. But after Headquarters nobody wanted to be a recording group anymore. I did what I could, but I didn’t feel like there was any reason for me to be there anymore. I wanted to be in a rock group.” - Peter Tork, Head 1994 liner notes
“While we were making the TV Special, knowing I was not going to be there any longer, I just thought to myself — I don’t have to worry about this thing — and I just let everything slide off my back.” - Peter Tork, NME, January 25, 1969
“We never thought of replacing him — there’s only one Peter Tork in the world.” - Michael Nesmith, Melody Maker, March 1, 1969
Q: “So, when you left, did you want to be known as the former Monkee or did you want to erase that part of your past —” Peter Tork: “I tried to erase it.” Q: “— and start anew.” PT: “I tried to erase it completely.” Q: “How do you do that?” PT: “Well, you just don’t do anything connected with it, just absolutely refuse to have anything to do with it.” - NPR, June 1983 (x)
“Headquarters was by far the best album in the sense that it was us. It was honest, it was pure, and we had a great time. Peter says that the reason he quit was because after we did this album, we decided we weren’t going to be a group anymore. It broke his heart, because Headquarters was the whole reason why he’d become one of The Monkees.” - Micky Dolenz, Headquarters 1995 liner notes
“[Micky] did a great job [drumming] on Headquarters. [But] he wasn’t going to do it again, and there was nothing you could do [to change his mind]. We had to go back in the studio. He said, ‘Peter, you can’t go back.’ Eddie Hoh did the drumming [on Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd., save for ‘Cuddly Toy’]. Chip [Douglas] got him ‘cause he could read [music]. The result is that you get directed stuff, there’s no group interaction, which is why I wanted the group to be on the album in the first place. You listen to Beatle albums and one of the things that makes them great is that they have found ways to use who they have to get what they want without asking anyone to do what they couldn’t do. That’s what makes group music happen. That’s all I ever hoped for, and I had it for like a minute on Headquarters.” - Peter Tork, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Jones Ltd. 2007 liner notes
“[Peter] admits he harbored a lot of bitterness for many years. The main bone of contention was the TV show’s producers insistence that the band members not play their own instruments. [...] ‘I was devastated at first. I originally approached The Monkees in terms of my own desire to be part of a genuine pop-rock music group. I felt like it was a professional slight to me. Like I was being excluded.’” - The Bellingham Herald, August 5, 1996
“Peter wasn’t satisfied musically [with The Monkees]. He’d been led to believe he could express himself musically. He was frustrated.” - Davy Jones, News-Press, May 14, 1977
“‘I was mostly interested in the Monkees as a musical entity,’ Thorkelson commented. ‘We didn’t fully realize that potential, and I felt ripped off.’” - The Bowling Green News Revue, May 24, 1979 (x)
“We’re all sorry to lose Peter but it was all very friendly and I personally can understand what is going through his mind, He’s a clever guy, you know, and he gets kinda restless sometimes. You should see the books he plows through… real deep stuff with words about a mile long.” - Davy Jones, Monkees Monthly, February 1969
“Peter and I were the bulk of the playing ability because we were musicians. But when Peter left it rather unnerved Davy and [Micky] — and I changed my mind [about quitting]. After all, the personal appearances were pretty well satisfying, the music was fun, and the whole thing was fairly lucrative. And Davy and [Micky] left alone would have been in real trouble.” - Michael Nesmith, Disc & Music Echo, September 19, 1970
“If the truth be known, the day Peter quit was probably the happiest day of Mike’s life. They’d never really gotten along, right from day one. Mike had always perceived of Peter as untenable, and they’d always been adversarial, if not outright combative. Finally he was out of the way. Now Mike could get on with doing what he had always wanted to do, make the Monkees his group. And I was happy to go along. I respected Mike and his music and was quite prepared to go along for the ride. [...] I saw Peter’s abdication as a minor setback at most. Basically, I think the three of us really thought that would be able to go on, just as we had before, and nobody would even notice there were only three people on stage instead of four — after all Peter didn’t sing on many of the songs anyway. How naive. […] I suppose it depends on whom you talk to, but as far as I’m concerned, the day Peter quit was the day the music died (apologies to Don McLean).” - Micky Dolenz, I’m A Believer: My Life of Monkees, Music, And Madness (1993)

A Partial Haylor Relationship Timeline (In My Head)
I was listening to 1989 a few days ago and, as I do, I stumbled down a Haylor rabbit hole.
While I think my reference points are logical, much of this is, of course, speculation, so continue only if that’s your bag:
My jumping off point was this thought: “Hmm…is Wonderland about the rumored fight in Virgin Gorda in January 2013?”
So, we went on our way
Too in love to think straight
All alone, or so it seemed
But there were strangers watchin'
And whispers turned to talkin'
And talking turned to screams
I reached for you, but you were gone
I knew I had to go back home
You searched the world for somethin' else
To make you feel like what we had
And in the end, in Wonderland, we both went mad
Now I’m thinking the “long six months” referenced in “How You Get the Girl” was between January 2013 and June 2013. And when they got back together in June, they decided to keep their relationship out of the public eye, because that had been a point of tension.
(Side note: I’ve seen it referenced on a wiki, but without citation that I’ve found, that Taylor wrote and recorded HYGTG in January 2013; however, according to her, she didn’t start working on 1989 until around April 2013, during the Red tour).
So perhaps they’re together in secret though the summer but, by the fall, she needs some space and is maybe cracking under the pressure of all the secrecy (“I don’t want to keep secrets just to keep you”). So they take a break. He goes out with Kendall in late November.
Yet, in December, Harry tweets the lyrics “better still, be my winding wheel” on Taylor’s birthday.
But word spreads in January 2014 that they’re meeting up on the down-low in Malibu. (It was later confirmed by Courteney Cox that several of those hangs were at her house…man, they’re all so cool).
In February, they’re spotted hanging out with Ed in London.
Later that month, Harry writes “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart.” Two days later, Taylor writes “I Know Places.”
She later told GLAM in 2015, “[IKP] is a song about how other people will really ruin a relationship if they get a chance to and how it might be the best way to go about starting a relationship is to keep it a secret if possible just because it’s very fragile.”
They potentially take another break around this time, as Taylor writes “Clean” on February 9…but then she writes “Style” 10 days later, lol. So Clean” is either not about Harry or she’s clearly not totally over him/ruling out getting back together someday.
(Side note: the whole “10 months sober” line in Clean confuses me, because if it was Harry-related, then that would place their break up in April 2013, which just doesn’t line up with anything I have seen. Thoughts?)
In March, Harry writes “I Love You.”
Another summer of them maybe being together in secret — maybe on-and-off or not exclusive —goes by, and it seems like they call it off for real again when, in August, Harry writes “Not Our Fault” with Gavin DeGraw.
Gavin says, “[The song] is about...if it doesn't work out sometimes you can't necessarily just blame it on yourselves, you know, sometimes it's what's going on around you. Sometimes it's other things that have nothing to do with the two people involved, those factors that you can't control. It touches on that type of subject. It’s a way of saying you're giving up, but it's not necessarily you're giving up because you don't love each other."
In November 2014, at the American Music Awards, Harry is super supportive of Taylor and 1989 and whistles as she receives an award.
In December, they party together after the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
In January 2015, they both go to a friend’s birthday party and out to a diner afterwards.
At some point, on his birthday, he makes her cry. While I can’t be sure of the exact year, because it’s a reference in the unreleased and later leaked “Hunger” song, the song also says, “as one year turns into two, I’m still not over you.” If it was two years since they fully ended in February 2015, they’d put us in February 2017. And HS1 came out in May 2017, so the timing works out.
Also, this birthday fight could be what causes her to wash her hands of them in the club, picture him with other girls in love and throw up on the street (“Hits Different”).
A week after his birthday, February 7, 1D starts their final tour. Later that month, Taylor meets Calvin and they start dating in late March.
She also maybe records “So It Goes…” in early March. I know there’s debate about the timing of this song’s creation, but if Oscar Görres (who wrote the instrumental) had his second child (born Sept. 17, 2017) the day they finished it, it wouldn’t have been done on time to make the Nov. 10, 2017 Reputation album release date (it’s typically 3-4 months of prep after the masters are done). She was also seen going into a studio on March 2, 2015 (per his retelling, Görres was at home when Taylor and Shellback were in the studio finishing the track and talked to them by phone).
In May the 2015 Billboard Music Awards Exile/Woman debacle goes down. Sad face.
In August 2015, Harry writes “Someday.”
And that’s all she wrote…well, kind of.
As we all know, they’re friendly after this, appearing at award shows, attending Ed’s wedding, and still talking about each other in the media with nothing but warmth and respect.
They, famously, date other people.
But they also continue to write about each other, more than a dozen songs between them, as recently as 2022.
And now, in June 2023, I’m just manifesting that “someday” is soon.
p.s. Credit and enormous props to @haylortml for the amazing timeline I pulled much of this from. You have truly done the lord’s work.

Wordgirl Villain Birthday Headcanons
Okay so, I'm going into this with the assuumption that the show starts in 2006 since that's when it came out.
Let's start with Tobey since he's the only one with a canon age, also he was my favorite when I was a kid.
Theodore "Tobey" McCallister
Birthday: October 3rd, 1995
Age: 10
Reason: Just strikes me as a fall baby. I think his birthday would be 7 months earlier than Becky's. I headcanon that her earth birthday is the day that the Botsfords found her since they wouldn't know her real birthday and I assume that Lexicon has a different year length and month cycle, so Bob wouldn't be able to translate it to Earth's.
Bonus Headcanon: Tobey's parents are separated. He and Claire left England when he was 4 or 5 while his father remained.
Let's keep the ball rolling with the child villians.
Victoria Best
Birthday: January 1st, 1996
Reason: Of course she would be a New Years baby, it's the ~best~ birthday of course.
Bonus Headcanon: Her and Eileen met at a villian convention and became sort of besties.
Eileen the Birthday Girl
Birthday: Everyday
(Real) Birthday: September 17th, 1995
Reason: It's revealed in one episode that her real birthday is the same as Violet's (this doubles as my Violet birthday headcanon), the season ain't obvious in the episode, but I would say September just cause of ✨️vibes✨️.
Bonus Headcanon: Her last name is O'Neil. Her parents are business people who don't see her often so they substitute real parenting for lavish gifts and a birthday everyday (she gets an extra bonus headcanon because it's her birthday).
Captain Tanget
Birthday: June 15th, 1989
Age: 17
Reason: His wiki says he's a teenager and his behavior backs that up. Summer birthday because that's the best birthday for piracy.
Bonus Headcanon: I saw a fic where they made his government name Connor Read and I like it and think it really fits, so I'm adooting that headcanon too!
Now onto the adult villians!
Amazing Rope Guy
Birthday: April 13th, 1984
Age: 22
Reason: In 1984, April 13th was a Friday! This man got some chronic bad luck so I thought it would be funny.
Bonus Headcanon: He was in marching band in high school and played the Clarinet.
Chuck the Evil Sandwich Making Guy
Birthday: November 3rd, 1981
Age: 25
Reason: November 3rd is Sandwich Day.
Bonus Headcanon: He and Brent share a birthday (Brent's being 5 years earlier) and Chuck HATES it.
The Butcher
Birthday: July 19th, 1960
Age: 46
Reason: Middle aged king, he also says he hasnt even lived 50 years so I assume he was at least in his late 30s. Also July 19th is hotdog day!
Bonus Headcanon: His government name is Butch Agricolo.
Lady Redundant Woman (A.K.A. Beatrice Bixby)
Birthday: March 3rd, 1973
Age: 33
Reason: LDR seems to love doing things in threes so I assume it's her lucky number, and 3/3 makes it redundant.
Bonus Headcanon: She only watches movies that have remakes.
I'm running out of steam, so imma end it with Two-Brains, we're running with Steven's birthday since Squeaky won't tell me his :(
Dr. Two-Brains (Formerly known as Dr. Steven Boxleitner)
Birthday: August 13th, 1971
Age: 35
Reason: It is confirmed that he is middle aged and he also canonically has at least one PhD and a Masters so he'd have to be at least 30. August 13th was a Friday in 1971 and I think it funny that he also has an unlucky birthday.
Bonus Headcanon: He is a Physcist and an Engineer!
That's all for now, folks! I'll do a part 2 eventually for the rest of Fair City's Rougue's Gallery.

Don’t blame me for what you made me do.
Isn’t it fascinating the almost blantantly jaded breathy pointing she does to us -the audience? The same people that make her money? The same people that keep her at the top?
But we all know we don’t keep Taylor at the top. Taylor keeps Taylor at the top. Taylor hides away the deepest most true parts of herself just so she stays on top. Because her team believed the public would demantle her if she comes out. Or if she even admits that any of her songs are about a woman. Let alone more than one.
Taylor has admitted many times that when she writes songs she knows how they’re gonna be preformed, and she can envision the music video while writing them. Taylor knew she was gonna point directly at the fans during the “don’t blame me” performance, at The Eras Tour- the tour of her past eras, experiences, emotions, and obstacles.
Taylor will go down in the history books, not only as one of the few female artists that has made the switch from country to pop, but as an artist that did everything to make her fans happy. Even if it means sacrificing her happiness in the process.
I mean Taylor even wrote a song about it! In one of her most vulnerable “fantastical” (otherwise known as stories about her real life but she can’t say that) eras. It’s all right in front of us. Evermore brought us some of the most sad break up songs of the sister albums, and happiness is one of them.
I see this for what it is
She sees the relationship for what it is.
But now I'm right down in it, all the years I've given
All the years she’s given? Not lost, she chose to give them up.
Is just shit we're dividin' up
All the hiding and effort means nothing now that it’s over.
Showed you all of my hiding spots
All the places away from the public eye where she could be herself without fear.
I was dancing when the music stopped
She thought everything was fine, and that the partner was perfectly okay with her hiding for her reputation.
And in the disbelief, I can't face reinvention
She can’t face the idea that her partner was so done with her hiding that they left. She cannot find it in herself to do what she did from 1989 to Reputation, or from Lover to Folklore. She can’t simply gloss over the pain she’s in, and not explain why. She cannot go from in love to sad, jaded songs again. She can
barely find it in herself to lie again.
I haven't met the new me yet
She hasn’t met the new her, the single her, the out her. She still hasn’t met the her that Miss Americana was supposed to out.
I can't make it go away by making you a villain
She can’t vilify her partner for not wanting to hide anymore. It’s not fair.
I guess it's the price I paid for seven years in Heaven
Happiness was the last song written for evermore, only a week before it’s release on January 7th, 2021. Most likely started in 2020, and finished New Year’s Eve/day. Written in 2020. 2020 - 7 = 2013
Which supermodel did she meet that year?
Tumblr media
And I pulled your body into mine
Every goddamn night, now I get fake niceties
She had her for a while, every single day of those 7 years, and then in this break up era of their relationship in 2020, she only gets surface level attention. The “how are you?”, “What’re you doing right now?”. As if Taylor wasn’t sleeping next to her for 7 years.
No one teaches you what to do
When a good man hurts you
Karlie was a truly good one, but once again Taylor uses “man” instead of the truth.
And you know you hurt him, too
Taylor knows that she hurt karlie, and she just reinforces that by using a male pronoun instead of a female pronoun. By hiding instead of telling the truth.
By keeping the fans and her reputation happy whilst sacrificing her love for this person and in tandem sacrificing her own happiness.
My other song analysis’ if you’re interested <3 they’re not as sad promise :)

All the Pacific Rim Character Birthdays I Could Find
...And by "all," I mean I will be writing down character birthdays from all the sources I can find, some of which contradict each other! It definitely sheds some insight into how ideas changed during development, and I think it shows some evidence that not everyone was always up to date - for example, Mako and Raleigh's Drift Space bios seem to be up to date, but Newt's is clearly an older version, as indicated by his age being given as 45 rather than 35.
Update: I found a post on Travis Beacham's blog that lists birthdays! I've added them now.

Notes:
Beacham stated that Aleksis Kaidonovsky's 1998 birthdate was a typo.
Beacham's blog lists Mako's birth year as 2005, but given that 2003 is listed far more commonly, I'm inclined to think his date may be in error.
