I find it SO INTERESTING, that Jiang Fengmian antis go on about how awful he was to Jiang Cheng and insisting that Jiang Cheng would have been better without him or Wei Wuxian, yet leave Yu Ziyuan in his life who was the biggest proponent of finding anything he ever did in his life, wrong.

Jiang Fengmian is not to blame for Jiang Cheng's insecurities and selfishness, that is on the hands of Madam Yu who reminded him every day he wasn't good enough for anything or anyone, enough for even a small lecture to feel like it was condemning him as a whole. You do not consistently call a child worthless and to work harder with no praise and pit them against other children and expect them to come out without arrogance born of insecurity and hate of others.

There is someone to blame for the way he turned out as an awful person, but it is not Jiang Fengmian for having to give up on his own hopes for his child in turn for just going through life. They all failed each other and love is not enough to fix ingrained resentment and hate, even with the people you are supposed to love.

I know that because the story takes place after wwx comes back jiang cheng's whole "i don't believe wei wuxian is actually dead i'm gonna keep obsessively looking for him" shtick got retroactively legitimized, but it is pretty important to remember that wei wuxian was in fact super dead the entire time and if it hadn't been for a depressed 20-something doing a suicide ritual, influenced to an unknown degree by a revenge plot that wasn't in play yet at the time of wwx's death, he would never have come back at all. And jiang cheng would've kept going "No! He's still out there I know it" for eternity with absolutely no proof or results.

okay listen. It´s been a hot second since I last saw season 1 so I have absolutely no clue whether the whole Samurai X thing started before or after they took Lloyd in but for the sake of this comic, let´s pretend that it´s possible that Nya got the Samurai idea from Lloyd because I think it´s cute

The timeline is what I make of it.

Also, I NEED more content of the Lloyd & Nya friendship specifically. Especially bc they must have such a special bond due to them both being left out or at least joining the "main 4" later on. I think even later when they´re both fully integrated in the team that they´re especially close and this never changes. I´m sorry I am so emotional about them, these two mean so much to me AAAAHH
