So amusing how Ken was so annoyed with Barbie when they went to the Real World™. I mean he was ANNOYED. He was so smitten after the dance party and in the car and basically any time he ever basked in her presence, but literally the moment they get to the Real World™ he sees men in power for one (1) second and he starts getting an attitude.
Like when she's sitting on the bench and he's like "I hate when people think, I get so BORED" and he sounds so pissy already. it's so funny. "the faster I think, the faster we can get home" "what am I supposed to do?? 🙄" then she's growling through clenched teeth "KENNNN." so fucking good. the whole scene, so good. "go for a walk or something!" "OH REALLY. BY MYSELF." AS IF THIS MAN HAS NEVER WALKED BY HIMSELF ANYWHERE BEFORE? "YES." "WHERE???" AND SHE'S JUST LOOKING AT HIM INCREDULOUSLY "???? ANYWHERE!!!!!" "CAN I GO THAT WAY?" "YES"
he walks away. his head over his shoulder, staring at her. the. entire. time. he is walking. no, sauntering. with this stupid grin on his face.
"don't go too far-" and his smile warps into a snarl for a split second when he angrily shouts "OKAY!"
and then the scene where Barbie's all excited because she's about to meet Sasha, Ken interrupts and says "I'm just gonna pop into the library real quick and see if they have any books on trucks :D" and he's got the CUTEST DORK SMILE on his face he sounds SO EXCITED 🥺🥺🥺
and Barbie says with a sigh "okay, just don't get in trouble" and she's not even annoyed here. she's just genuinely worried about him causing a scene or something
and Ken's smile DROPS and his good mood DROPS and his eyes bug out when he growls "I WONNNN'T" in the most exasperated voice EVER, he sounds SO offended and he's doing that hand motion where he's shakily clawing the air palms facing up and in response Barbie's immediately gritting her teeth and clenching her jaw giving him a Mom Glare. i fucking love their dynamic it's such a mess literally neither of them are normal
the whole time they are in the Real World™ they are at each other's throats. Barbie expresses multiple times how uncomfortable she is with these negative feelings she's experiencing for the first time, things Ken has already experienced but she's unaware of it, such as anxiety and self consciousness, and Ken does not acknowledge her comments even once. I don't think he was purposefully ignoring her but he was definitely lacking the chivalrous Kenergy™ because he was so wrapped up in horses patriarchy.
I don't think they had any positive interactions with each other except when they went "shopping" for new western clothes and they were like "we look great!" "i love fringe!" "i love denim!" and they're both laughing together. that was the first and only moment we see them interacting as genuine friends, where Barbie is talking to him as an equal instead of (unintentionally) as an accessory, and Ken isn't begging and prying for her attention. but otherwise you don't really see them caring that much about each other, at least not in a healthy way, until the very end of the movie. and this isn't to say that they're on bad terms yet, not at all, but in the beginning of the movie Barbie is still not really seeing Ken. he's just Some Dude who follows her like a lost puppy and she doesn't acknowledge him unless if he's asking. hey Barbie, check me out. hey Barbie, how much of that did you see. hey Barbie, can I come to your house tonight. hey Barbie, hey Barbie, hey Barbie. please let me come with you to the real world, WHAT IF THERE'S BEACH, YOU'LL NEED SOMEONE WHO'S A PROFESSIONAL IN THAT. and then ryan gosling gives you the softest smoothest buttery delivery when he ends it with a small breathy please? the 'p' and 's' so gentle I literally sigh every time he says it... anyway--

Sometimes I just randomly remember the frankly exhausting story of the 2020 West Side Story revival and I have to go through the wiki page just to make sure I haven't forgotten anything because it is SO MUCH that poor production just couldn't stop taking Ls
Production made some WILD changes including, but not limited to: cutting "I Feel Pretty" and overall making the show so short it didn't even have an intermission, changing the ballet choreography to hip-hop (no snapping), casting POC actors to play the Jets, giving the characters iPhones, and using giant screens with pictures of the actors as the majority of the set design
Two of the five main actors got injured before previews even ended, one of which delayed their opening night by two weeks and the other just had to leave the show permanently (the latter then went on to be in the Steven Spielberg remake in 2021)
One of the other three main actors had been fired from their dance company and a previous show due to SA allegations, which led to extreme backlash and protests outside of the theatre (idk any details about this, just an added layer of insanity to this show)
They found out like six months after closing that they weren't eligible for the Tony Awards because they opened on February 20 and the cutoff date had been moved back to February 19th due to COVID
SEE NUMBER TWO AGAIN IF IT WASN'T FOR THAT ONE INJURY THEY WOULD HAVE QUALIFIED FOR A TONY AWARD
If they had opened on their original date, they would have won Best Revival of a Musical because they would have been the only show that was eligible (assuming they got nominated, I'm still mad about The Lightning Thief)
The lead producer later "stepped down from his active roles in Broadway production" because a bunch of his employees came forward and exposed him for being such a toxic boss he got bullied out of the industry
Like, imagine being just Some Guy in the ensemble or the crew just trying to do your job and all this nonsense happens

I am….. surprisingly close to catching up to one piece.
Based on my estimate, I have 361 episodes left.
I did not think I would make it this far.
Before I started one piece, I would have thought that having that many episodes left was agonizingly far away, that I would never be able to make it.
But now, 700 episodes in. I realize how small that is in the grand scheme of it all.
Theres so much more I want to see, so many situations and experiences I need to witness, and although one piece is continuing still, I know its gaining on the end.
The end comes for everything, as death i know all too well.
But for something this profound?
With characters I feel this strongly about?
With the feeling of this being neverending?
It feels so small.
It feels not enough.
I want to go on more adventures with these pirates.
I want to breathe and live for them.
I dont want it to stop,
But I know it must.
Nothing can last forever.
And I will be immensely saddened to say the final goodbye.
I dont think I’d be able to manage dry eyes for them.
Nothing will replicate the lifetime I’ve lived in his world.

I... have deep-fried... my nervous system. I have overdone it today and thus I have done myself a hurt. I am a small zombie of a man. And also I am not a man. I am very very cute and also braincell supplies are running alarmingly low. I have many unread messages. I have autism. I have 6,000 thoughts on Arnold Judas Rimmer and his Longterm Hetero Roommate-ship with Dave Lister.
I am 7/8ths of the way to completely comatose and what remains of my brain is still like "do not worry my dude i will continue to produce images of the old space men kissing.
"I know it feels like the flu wrapped a lemon around a sledgehammer and then artfully rearranged your skull with it but so long as there is a single ounce of life left in this body then by God there will be gay thoughts about chicken soup machine repair man David Lister."
and what I'm saying is I don't understand how the emergency power reserve system ended up this way but I think it is also keeping me sane in Deep Space

Tumblr media
Moon conjunct Jupiter 5H may have many kids. Bonus points if both planets are in leo (5H represents children, moon is related to family and jupiter is associated with abundance and growth)
Mars opp Uranus transit can bring about sudden bursts of pain, the sign indicates the how it impacts and the house indicating the part of the body impacted
Though libra placements strive for balance, underdeveloped people with these placements strive for THEIR ideal of balance, oftentimes to the detriment of others (i.e unwilling to compromise, resorting to manipulation to get their way)
The 3rd house explains how you communicate
Aries: assertively, outgoing
Taurus: stubbornly (resisting to change your outlook), practically
Gemini: versatile, inquisitively, witty
Cancer: emotionally, gently
Leo: dramatically, loudly, shamelessly
Virgo: thoughtfully, dry humour, critically (sharp w/ their words)
Libra: diplomatically, flirtatious, indecisive
Scorpio: intensely, passionately
Sagittarius: honest, exaggerative, optimistically
Capricorn: disciplined, can come across as cold/insensitive
Aquarius: detached, rebellious,
Pisces: spiritual, caring, empathetic
Libra venuses show affection by treating you to things you've always wanted and in turn, they expect the same from you (reciprocity is key!). They have a knack for finding gifts that are aesthetically pleasing
Leo stellium indicates a short temper. This placement magnifies leos natural urge to shine and dramatic tendencies and results in impulsivity when underdeveloped
Prominent pisces and aquarius in a chart gives the native an "otherworldly" type of beauty. The way I tend to notice them is always by their eyes, they tend to be widespread and/or big (ex: Anya-Taylor Joy, Halle Bailey). They have a type of beauty that almost "rebels against" the standards in place all the while having conventionally attractive features if that makes sense. It's like their features exacerbate existing standards
Virgo venuses love giving and receiving words of affirmation as their love language (virgo likes mental stimulation). They bring about a more service-minded type of affection, asking you what you need materially for instance
Pisces mars and the constant urge to escape? It's like they need music to get through the day. They often get the reputation of being "lazy" but these people really just are in another world, and, especially when in the 6th house, they rely much on media (books, podcasts, tv shows) to do any tasks (even mundane) or they risk daydreaming or or boredom. They are more likely to take a long time to complete any sort of task such as a shower or washing the dishes
Chiron in capricorn brings wounds and pain about ambition. This can manifest as the native either lacks drive or they have ideas they'd love to set in motion and they do (due to the cardinal nature of capricorn) but often fall short in continuing their project. As physical scars, the native may be prone injuries/dysfunction regarding their bones. Using myself as an example, I had braces as a pre-teen.
I’ve seen so many Gemini suns who have a Gemini symbol tattoo
Eris in aries brings about chaos in areas of life related to assertion and self-involvement. In other words, the native may feel more inclined to hyperfocus on the needs of others and neglect themself
Ceres in gemini brings an abundance in matters related to communication and adaptability. You're likely to be perceived as someone who can go with the flow and is easy-going. On the other hand, when less developed, you can be perceived as scatter-brained and restless
Jupiter in leo can make someone have a wider, sculpted upper back and shoulders as jupiter expands anything it touches. Jupiter in aquarius can make someone have larger calves, shins and ankles. With regard to the house it's in, in creates growth in that area of life. As always, consult the aspects that other planets make to jupiter
Opposite to jupiter, saturn shrinks what it touches. In other words, depending on your saturn sign, this can show where you're physically smaller. Saturn in leo for example would have smaller shoulders and a smaller back. Saturn in aquarius can make someone have smaller calves, skins and ankles
"I have a headache in my stomach" -My virgo stellium best friend
Venus square ascendant creates conflict of ones perception of self (physical appearance, personality) and whether or not they consider themself to be attractive. Due to this internal conflict, they are likely to take it upon themselves to try and "glow up" and struggle with low self-esteem. They may require constant reassurance from others
I can't remember who posted this last month but someone asked if people could feel the effects of their upcoming solar return chart whether it be a month before or right as it hits? My birthday is early july and it's crazy how much I already reasonate with my upcoming SRC 2023-2024. I used @starsworldd post as a reference! ⭐️
My SRC rising is in leo and I already feel that I present myself more unapologetically and confidently. Since leo falls into my 12th house in my natal chart, I find that matters related to spiritually are much more potent (angel numbers, seeing specific colours, encounters, the urge to self-isolate, feeling energy extra strongly)
Natal sun (10H) conjunct SR venus: personality and beauty will become more noticeable to the public--> I found this especially true because I've been receiving so many complements from strangers lately🩷
Moon in pisces 8H SR: I'm emotionally tied to and more receptive to fantasies, creativity, sentimentality, escapism (esp with the way I've been reading so much lately and find any anything hard to do without music)
Venus in leo 1H: personality and outlook on life will be less inhibited, more free-flowing and harmonious (true bc I find beauty in simple everyday things more than ever. I stare at the trees, the sky, animals and even myself sometimes. I'm learning to look at myself in the mirror and understand I'm worthy of love no matter how I look)
Just from studying my SRC, it's made me so much more curious about the impacts of the lunar return chart (LRC) each month and daily transits
If any of these placements resonate with you personally or you know someone with these placements please let me know! As always, these are my observations and of course, not everyone is a monolith🩵

They say:
-You can't be AuDHDer because you are "normal".
-We're all a little autistic/ADHD.
-You can't be AuDHDer because you are queer and trans and you had s3x with your partner.
And stuff like that.
But when I don't mask, when I show autistic and ADHD joy, when I stim, when they see my special interests, they say I'm "weird", "childish" or "stupid".
When I show my difficulties, when I need support, when I have repetitive and racing thoughts, they say I'm "picky", "selfish", "spoiled".
When I have a meltdown or a shutdown, they say I'm "mad".
When they know that I am neurodivergent, they say I'm "ill".
I'm not ill, mad, spoiled, selfish, picky, stupid, childish or weird.
AuDHD is a disability, difficulty, joy, special interests, hyperfocus, mood swings, hypersensitivity, etc...
AuDHD is not an illness.

I know your art (which is bedazzling, btw!) is primarily about staroba, but I gotta ask. How is my favorite “vampire”, Dalv doing in your Lucky Clover AU?
First of all, thank you so much! I know I tend to hyperfocus on the Staroba and Clover end of the AU, given my obvious bias LOL. But it was about time I designed Dalv and Martlet, so two for one special!
Tumblr media
Dalv is in his late 30s and doing quite a bit better! He's still quite introverted, but has more of a social life in Snowdin! In the time that's passed since Clover chose to live in the Underground, he's become a very successful children's book author and illustrator and gains a ton of joy from that. Overall he's living a bit more of a quiet and peaceful life despite his past struggles, but he's quite content with that! He still in contact with Clover and the others and they visit him fairly often.
Martlet is in her early 30s, and she's just as energetic and spry as ever! She still has some scatter brained tendencies, but she's a lot more responsible and a lot more independent now. She also still lives in Snowdin, though she flies to the Oasis Valley like, daily, to see her buddy Clover LOL. She quit her job with the Royal Guard and took up carpentry, and is successfully running her own independent business! She's upbeat and cheerful, but she generally tries to keep a low profile in Snowdin. Despite it being quite a few years, there's still some rumours and talk about why a Royal Guard in Snowdin suddenly quit her position...

LET'S TALK ABOUT NEURODIVERSE AND DIFFERENTLY-ABLED/PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES REPRESENTATION IN THE LOKI SERIES
Thank you so much for your patience and your amazing ask, @indulligence! Special thank you, as well, to all the gif artists who made this meta possible.
I've been champing at the bit to get to this one, and I finally made it!
As a disclaimer, I am not a doctor, and I recognize we should take care in pseudo-diagnosing fictional characters as we don't want to perpetuate stereotypes of our neurodiverse and differently abled/people with disabilities communities. Having said that, if interpreting a character as being neurodiverse and/or differently abled/having a disability brings you comfort and joy, you should certainly do so! Canon is a sandbox. Fictional worlds and characters are meant to be engaged with for your pleasure.
I do cite a few medical graphic and their sources below. If any of those sources are problematic in any way, please let me know and I can switch out the graphic for one from a better source.
LOKI - ADHD [?]
At first glance, Loki's characterization in Thor 1, Thor 2, and Ragnarok don't seem to present him as having challenges with executive function. He appears to be able to focus and sustain focus, able to organize, and able to sustain effort and process. Loki also has exceptional memory.
Tumblr media
[source]
As for mood, many mood symptoms of ADHD overlap with depression, the latter of which Loki clearly has. Nevertheless, it should be noted that ADHD and depression are often comorbid. He could have both.
Tumblr media
[source]
While memory and effort are not concerns, Loki has consistently shown challenges with impulse control, managing frustration, and modulating emotion. A number of his most consequential choices (i.e. inadvertently directing Malekith to his mother, chasing after Sylvie, etc.) are influenced by his emotional state rather than premeditation. This may suggest that if Loki has ADHD, he leans toward Type 2: Impulsive/Hyperactive:
Tumblr media
[source]
His characterization in the Loki series changes somewhat to include more hyperactivity and swings between hyperfocus and difficulty regulating attention and focus. Loki gesticulates, fidgets, and moves a lot more in the series than the movies. He also talks much more quickly when excited.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do I think these changes were intentional? I honestly have no idea. Whatever the case, I think it's lovely that the Loki who becomes the most powerful hero in the MCU is also the version that demonstrates a higher likelihood of being diagnosed with ADHD.
MOBIUS - NEUROTYPICAL / HIGHLY SENSITIVE PERSON (HSP) [?]
I think Mobius, for the most part, is neurotypical. Even with Loki being his special interest/hyperfixation, he doesn't exhibit the other symptom criteria to meet a Level 1 Autism diagnosis, an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder diagnosis, or an Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder diagnosis.
He may, however, be a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).
Tumblr media
[source]
Mobius's empathy for others, perception of behavior, observation of circumstances, and deep appreciation for beauty (particularly when it comes to the beauty of people) are exceptionally strong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
NOTE: Even when the stakes are dire, he's still willing to give Ravonna and Miss Minutes the benefit of the doubt. He really is a sweetie pie. A sweetie pie who can and will slap you if you deserve it.
I think Mobius may mask his strong emotional responses regularly in order to be able function in the TVA. There were only two incidents, when he was unable to suppress his feelings, and those outbursts were remarkable:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That said, Mobius doesn't quite meet the other symptoms of HSP, which include sensitivity to stimuli, being easily startled, and aversion to violence. As we see in the series, Loki's antics don't overwhelm or startle him, and he has no issue with torture when he deems it necessary.
It is possible that Mobius may have Acquired Neurodivergence post-series as a consequence of trauma in the series finale. At present, we have nothing in canon to support this, but many fanfics show Mobius struggling to cope with the loss of Loki, his home, his family, and his identity. This severe level of loss can cause a variety of mental health conditions and disorders that may impact Mobius's future ability to function in a neurotypical way.
SYLVIE - ACQUIRED NEURODIVERGENCE [?]
I've written about Sylvie's sexuality here, and I think some (if not most) of her quirks when it comes social interaction, emotional intimacy, and physical contact may be explained by trauma. As such, I think some of her behavioral symptoms, which can be mistaken as autism, is actually the result of PTSD causing structural changes to her brain. Loki likely has this as well.
Tumblr media
Like O.B., she is verbally blunt and appears to demonstrate lower empathy, especially with those she disagrees with.
Tumblr media
To be clear, this doesn't mean Sylvie doesn't have empathy. She does, as can be seen in the gif above. What I mean is, her empathy and ability to demonstrate it are generally low throughout the series. This is likely a psychological defense mechanism. Having lowered empathy is advantageous if growing up in apocalypses is the only means of survival. Every friend and lover she's ever had is either dead or will die because of those apocalypses or because of who she is to the TVA.
Unlike O.B., Sylvie initiates social interactions and develops friendships more easily. Sylvie has acquaintances, if not friends, in John (McDonalds,) Eric (bartender), and Lyle (record shop). NOTE: You can tell the writer is a man when the bias in creating side characters skews male instead of female. Sylvie should at least have ONE girlfriend in her 1982 timeline, but she doesn't.
OUROBOROS (O.B.) - LEVEL 1 AUTISM [?]
Here he is! Here is our favorite neurodiverse ray of sunshine! Our autistic cinnamon roll! The MVP of season 2!
Tumblr media
Now, I have mixed feelings regarding how people on the autism spectrum are portrayed in media. While they are often shown as socially awkward, they are also shown to be exceptionally brilliant in their area(s) of interest. This is quite flattering and often true in real life, yet I worry that this creates a stereotype that not only are all autistic people "geniuses", they are also geniuses in a way that is useful to a capitalistic society. That expectation isn't healthy and perpetuates the belief that a person is only valuable if they are useful. Further, it is a narrow portrayal of the autism spectrum. It is important to have representation across that spectrum instead of stopping at Level 1.
Tumblr media
But I don't like being a Debbie Downer, so let's focus on the good representation that can be found in O.B.!
O.B., in a lot of ways, reminds me of Entrapta from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. He doesn't always read social cues correctly, which often plays out as fantastic comedy relief on screen when the stakes are outrageous.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like Entrapta, his science and engineering aptitude are nearly unmatched if not for Victor Timely. However, the hyperfocus O.B. exhibits does have negative consequences, as exemplified when he explains he lost his job and wife due to dedication in creating a TemPad prototype. Despite these losses, O.B. is resilient and looks forward to what comes next (another possible symptom of his neurodiversity).
Tumblr media
I love that O.B.'s neurodiversity allows him to believe Loki when Loki finds him on his branched timeline with his "crazy story". It is also what allows him to see the patterns in Loki's timeslipping and propose, with confidence, that timeslipping can be controlled.
He is also a very good friend. Though he might not be the "huggy" type, he always makes an effort to find concrete solutions to big problems. I would say that O.B. is Loki's second closest friend in the series after Mobius.
I can't tell if it's O.B.'s autism or O.B.'s inner asshole that's fucking around with Loki in this scene. Not once but twice! Either way, I love it (and the fact that Loki resists the temptation to zap him back).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
CASEY - LEVEL 1 AUTISIM [?]
Tumblr media
What I appreciate about Casey is that if he is interpreted as autistic, he is not a super genius. He is still quite gifted, but I think he represents where a good number of level 1 autistics actually land in life. I feel this is a much healthier portrayal and balances out O.B.'s genius representation nicely.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NOTE: Look how cute they are! They must be protected at all costs.
I am also so happy that Casey and O.B. found friendship in each other. We have to give B-15 (Verity) credit for this. The only reason they met at all is because B-15 had the presence of mind to think of Casey to help O.B. with the Loom debacle.
Tumblr media
Together, they become unstoppable, but there's one more friend who completes the Science Club Trio ...
VICTOR TIMELY - SPEECH IMPEDIMENT/LEVEL 1 AUTISM [?]
Since I've discussed autism interpretation and representation at length with O.B. and Casey, I'm going to concentrate on the portrayal of Victor Timely's speech impediment.
Tumblr media
I also have mixed feelings regarding the media portrayal of people with speech impediments. This medical condition is often used as a means of showing a character is "meek" or "harmless". I don't doubt that this character feature was chosen for that exact purpose, to immediately contrast Timely against HWR in the quickest, most efficient way possible. Unfortunately, this kind of narrative "shortcut" leads to stereotyping people with speech impediments accordingly.
It's a good thing, then, that Loki series takes the time to add some depth to Timely's character. Yes, he has a speech impediment, but he is also very willful, crafty, and brave.

Actually, sorry, I still don't see why TOTK is imperialistic. The imperialistic one does seem to be Ganon in his greed to conquer. I'm not saying I doubt your argumentsz just... Could you help me understand that?
Hey, yes! No problem at all. If that's okay with you, I'll compile my arguments in a series of links where I reply to previous asks.
Again, I want to reiterate that I don't think what we see in-game is secretely an imperialistic story about Rauru being a bad guy. We can speculate all we want, but there is no evidence in-world for Ganondorf to be anything other than a horrible baddie. My point is not that Ganondorf is secretely misunderstood in TotK, but that I believe Nintendo should have constructed its storytelling in a way that avoided falling into very loaded narrative patterns with real-life imperialistic echoes, and I am criticizing that they didn't try to deliver a version of Hyrule that gracefully accepted its own history, its influence over the world and its inherent moral grayness, instead of nervously scrubbing itself of substance out of fear of its own legacy.
This is the big one, that addresses the game's framing and why I think TotK's version of Hyrule parallels imperialist narrative movements.
This one talks about my problem with Rauru's character writing and what doesn't land for me.
This one is about why I don't think Nintendo is cackling about that good imperialist story they did, that it was probably accidental but still worth mentioning.
And this one, which I assume is the previous ask you sent me, adresses why I think saying that the zonais (and Sonia) are also PoC-coded kind of misses the point in my opinion.
Hope this clarifies my argument! I feel like, as the conversation matures in the fandom, this specific position (not talking for anyone else but me here) is getting kind of warped into something that it's not, or being conflated with the way people are creatively invested in the characters, which, while I certainly won't deny one obviously feeds off the other as far as I'm concerned*, are two separate things.
Again, it's completely fine to disagree! Or to agree and not be put off (everyone stop feeling guilty over the rare joy we manage to catch mid-flight --we can critique media without demanding people to Feel Bad as a result of the conclusions): it's a really fun game and I did play over a hundred hours! But I think the conversation is at least worth considering in a way that isn't caricatured as its weaker arguements.
*(to be very transparent so my own position is crystal clear, and it helps people making up their own mind: Ganondorf touches me as a character because of the way he inherently tries to fight against the limitations Hyrule/The Goddesses/the fiction itself try to force upon him --to devastating and unproductive results-- so the more his own canon tries to flatten him and the more poignant his character becomes to me. Won't deny that! It's this exact realization that made me spiral into hyperfocus to begin with --I am deeply touched by themes of tragic ambition and the impossibility of meaningful rebellion while STILL willingly burning everything down for the sake of refusing your place in the universe, even when the only thing accomplished by the end was the unflinching expression of your agency as well as General Suffering. So of course he would just catch me by the throat like that, that bastard. That being said, I don't think TotK Ganondorf (or any Ganondorf tbh) is a poor little meow meow, especially not in this game's canon where he is *obviously* nothing more than a threat to be stumped and doesn't ever meaningfully oppose you ideologically, which is kind of my problem. Even OoT Ganondorf, simplistic as he may be, questions Hyrule's inherent stability, inevitability and glory in many, many ways. Here's another, final post about why I liked the gerudos better in OoT despite All of The Problems, that partially addresses this exact point!)

Temptation Eyes Chapter 23 is up
The penultimate update for the Regency AU is up on AO3
-
“Prongs, my friend,” Sirius said meaningfully, “how has your evening gone? You stepped outside for so long I did not know that you were still here.”
“You stepped outside?” Miss MacDonald asked as Miss McKinnon added, “you were here earlier?”
Miss Evans watched James carefully, and he spoke with as little inflection as he could, such as to convey no emotion at all.
“I stood out in the garden for a while. It was a very nice evening, and it was a lovely sort of quiet time. Very pleasant.”
The reactions of the young men and young ladies were very different. Remus, Peter, and Sirius all looked relieved - and Sirius, in particular, looked as though he wanted to shout for joy - but the ladies still looked shocked that he had been present at all.
“You stood outside in the cold?”
“Were you alone in the darkness?”
“Did you not feel lonely?”
“Could you even see the flowers?”
Miss Evans alone did not speak. James watched her eyes scan the room until they found Regulus, talking very quietly to Mrs. Malfoy across the room. If Miss Evans had not already guessed that it had been Regulus he had spoken with outside, then Mrs. Malfoy’s hyperfocus on James would have cemented it.
“Ladies, let us not bother him,” she quickly said, speaking over her friends. They calmed at once at the sound of her voice. “Have we not all wished to escape the crowds of a ball at one moment or another?” James beamed at her; in this moment, he could have told her he loved her and meant it. “Let us not judge anyone for not finding the present company without its flaws, and wishing for the quiet company of the bees and the flowers.”

Hyperfocus: Palms
I can tell the second I come in, that you've had a long day. I mean, you make a valiant effort Hiding it, turning the small exasperated expression into a smile, doing your best to mask the tired look in your eyes. While I understand you not wanting me to worry, that doesn't mean I'm not going to. However, I also understand that sometimes you try to bottle those feelings up. Nah. Not on my watch. I smile, walking over to you gently, and hugging you, then taking your hand gently and sitting with you, interlocking your hand with my larger one. Still quiet, I use my other hand, lifting your palm as if Inspecting it, and tracing the lines. I hear you make a small ticklish noise of Suprise, and grin to myself. "Something wrong, Darling? No? Okay~". I continue the tracing with a single finger, until it becomes figure eights, then Random Patterns. One finger becomes two, two becomes three, and I keep it at three, all gently skittering and tracing your palm. I grab a feather from the nightstand by the bed, it's blue, stiff, and unbelievably soft. I slowly trace it across your palm, all of your fingers, as if I were covering them in paint, leaving no spot 'unmarked'. I take a second while tickling to lock eyes with you, seeing both the flustered joy and the soft gratitude. You know damn well what I'm doing. I , on the Other 'hand' (Ba dum tssss) know damn well that you love it. After a long while of me gently tickling, listening to your happy, soft sounds, I turn to lock eyes with you. Carefully, I try the question that's been on my mind since I saw you today. "So, how was your day, sweetheart?". There are no teasing undertones to this, no need for them. I'm genuinely curious. So I sit there and listen as you break down and tell me, never quite stopping the palm tickling, though you never quite ask me to. When you're clearly done, I slow the tickling down until I'm just holding your hand, and using my other arm, I pull you into a hug, Laying back with you softly. I whisper into your ear: "Thank you for telling me, darling.". I don't say much else. Don't need to. I just gently rub your back, cuddling you and kissing you on the forehead. Caring about you. Recharging with you. Allowing all of the day's Negative energy to slip away, fought off by love. Through it all, still Holding your hand.
I don't plan on letting go.

50k is Overrated: NaNoWriMo from a Disabled Author's Perspective
Tumblr media
While it’s great to reach 50,000 words, it should not be a measure of success! Being a successful writer can be different for everyone, especially if you’re disabled. NaNo participant Quinn Clark talks about their experiences participating in NaNo as a disabled writer and writing tips to keep in mind.
NaNoWriMo is the gold standard for adrenaline fueled productivity. Oh, the allure of telling all your friends you wrote 50,000 words in a month! No wonder we all get so excited each year.
But what happens when you have a disability which conflicts with the caffeine-bingeing, late-night-sprint lifestyle so associated with NaNo?
Here’s the secret: NaNoWriMo isn’t really about the 50k. It’s about progress — whatever that looks like to you. The path to 50k is just the most well-known version of NaNoWriMo: it’s less a hard-and-fast rule, and more a landmark to guide your writing journey.
I’m an author, and I’ve participated in NaNoWriMo every year for twelve years. I also have a disability called Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD). CPTSD affects me in a variety of ways: dissociation, panic attacks, and a medley of unpredictable physical symptoms which make my day-to-day life difficult to navigate. As is true for countless disabled and/or neurodivergent writers, no matter how much I want to do everything at once, some days my functioning is reduced and I need time for rest, support, and recovery.
So, what does my NaNoWriMo success rate look like? Well, I’ve ‘won’ NaNoWriMo (hit the 50k words within November) seven times out of those twelve attempts, with a cumulative word count of 446,760 words.
“Oh, that’s terrible!” some of you may cry. “How have you lost so many times?”
“Man, I wish I could write that much,” others might lament. “How have you done NaNo every year for so long?”
I’ve had both of these responses from different writers before, and that fact reveals something important. Your writing process is a unique and personal thing, and it won’t always be compatible with other people’s standards. Here’s a question:
Does the 1k someone writes for one NaNoWriMo matter less than the 50k they wrote for another?
Of course not. Everyday, we wake up to our social media feeds glutted with success stories and the pervasive idea that burnout is the path to success. This notion is incompatible with disability and neurodiversity, and is therefore inaccessible. While this style of breakneck working is great for meeting your short-term goals, it is awful for consistent, meaningful progress — and even more so for your well-being. Forcing yourself to write when you’re fatigued, nauseous, exhausted, dissociated and/or depressed is a sure-fire way to associate writing with punishment, rather than joy and weirdness and creativity. Yes, many of us enjoy writing when we’re feeling bad as a form of escapism — but foregoing self-care in the name of hitting arbitrary word targets is unhealthy, and is not in the spirit of NaNoWriMo. No matter how many words you make yourself write, if you are suffering to get them down, your writing will suffer alongside you.
…So how do we win?
Don’t worry — it’s not all doom and gloom. You deserve to take care of yourself, whether you’re writing or not. Here are some tips for making NaNoWriMo a disability-friendly experience:
1. Listen to your body and brain now, not later.
Many of us are guilty of this (I’m looking at you, fellow neurodivergent writers!): pushing past the need to eat, or drink, or use the bathroom because you ‘need’ to hit today’s target. Perhaps you’re deep in hyperfocus, or are feeling guilty for taking yesterday off because you couldn’t get out of bed. That’s okay — don’t beat yourself up! Remember to treat accountability for your needs the same way you treat accountability for your writing. Listen to what your brain and body are trying to tell you: NaNoWriMo, or any similar project, is not more important than your well-being. Take that nap, grab that snack, and spend the day bundled in bed if you need to. A burnt-out writer will just start to hate the writing process. I promise you start responding to your own needs, your desire to write will gradually return. After all, writers find it impossible to stay away from the craft!
2. Commiserate with others.
There is great power in sharing your experiences. For years I kept quiet about my mental health struggles, thinking that if people knew about my condition, I wouldn’t be seen as a ‘real’ writer. But something magical happened the first time I spoke to a friend about my disability affecting my writing: they felt able to open up too. Being honest about your bad days in a way which is comfortable for you is a magnificent vulnerability. You humanise yourself in the eyes of others, and in turn are humbled by the strength of your fellow writers. Regardless of diagnosis, label or background, the human desire to be understood and validated is incredibly valuable. You may find that talking helps make your writing journey a good bit lighter.
3. Allow yourself to fail.
‘Failure’is an acidic word to writers — but it doesn’t need to be. You are not a failure because you didn’t reach a goal. You are not a failure because you changed plans. You are not a failure because you are sick, or tired, or working on a different schedule. All those NaNos I did where I didn’t hit the 50k are still so important: one sentence, one word, one idea is still better than nothing at all. You don’t need to plot every missed deadline or ‘unproductive’ work day against a graph of your own self-worth. Be proud of your achievements, and look to the next challenge — whatever that may be.
Good luck to you all on your writing journeys! And the next time you start down that self-flagellating hate-spiral for needing a couple hours off, remember: You can’t pour from an empty cup, and you can’t write as an empty writer.

hai :3 trade offer You get: art of your choosing I get: infodump about space cat/and or autism (/nf btw)
*smug smile* YES, PLEASE.
I have talked about executive dysfunction before, but have you heard about
Autistic inertia?
It is the inability to change task or focus.
Our autistic brains love to be fully & all-consumingly engaged in one activity & we struggle to retreat back from it/ take a break to do something else.
You're probably familiar with the term hyperfocus, which is (to the person experiencing it) a positive side of being focused intensely on (preferably) your special interest. You can't stop & you're consumed entirely by it & it gives you joy. PURE BLISS!!
Although I tend to forget I exist during these times...
For me, inertia & hyperfocus are two sides of a coin.
Inertia does not give joy.
It can lead to the frustrating reality of my body & brain working against my desire to do something nice & relaxing.
It's independent of any desire to do the other activity; unlike procrastination, where you purposely avoid tasks due to reasons.
Example: I absolutely love The Legend of Zelda & I was in BLISS about the newest game. So naturally, one would assume I've beaten Tears of the Kingdom at least ten times & that I've reached 100%.
The hard truth: I have not even completed the four main quests, nor have I achieved to get the whole map of the overworld.
The desire to play it is... low. (SAD DONNIE NOISES)
This is because my brain struggles to adjust from one reality (the game isn't out yet) to the new reality (the game is released). I was so in awe & excitement that my brain still hasn't processed that it's truly playable now.
As time passes, the inertia will go away - you just have to be patient.
Sadly, autistic inertia is often seen as laziness or procrastination - a character flaw, if you will.
But it is tied to how our brains are wired & function. It's not a personal failure.
It's just one of many aspects that make autism a disability.

I'm trying my best 🥺💜
