I feel like the main problem with how Strega (Takaya and Jin, at least) are written is just about the game desperately wanting them to remain excessively unlikable until after they are defeated, which is…bizarre and unnecessary, to say the least. They are never actually doing anything of importance, so the narrative relies on "dehumanizing" them into stock villains, to give the players some reason to dislike or, at least, oppose them on a personal level, hence the lack of meaningful characterization. Jin's November comment about SEES "not having a clue what will happen if the Dark Hour disappears", impliedly being about the memory wipeout, since Takaya told them outright they would lose their powers earlier, is the perfect example of this, imo. He gets cut off mid-sentence, so he doesn't spoil it for later, naturally, but it's never brought up again, after eventually being reveled by Ryoji, because that is actually a pretty solid reason for them to antagonize the protagonists (imagine waking up on the streets, with no personal documents, feeling awfully sick and wondering why no one is looking for you!) but, again, they are yet to be defeated and not meant to come off as even remotely sympathetic until then. It's just very…unskillful writing. Sorry for the long message, btw, I initially just wanted to leave a regular comment, actually, but there's just so many words it apparently wouldn't fit in less than five separate responses 😵‍💫

honestly? i never made this connection myself so thanks for telling me! i could see that being true and i'm about to hit that point in my replay game soon myself so i can look at it with this context. question is how could jin have possibly have known this info... my guess is ikutsuki could have fed them that info since he also supplied them with his suppressant drugs, plus they even knew about the Ruin thing that Nyx could have brought about. honestly, including ikutsuki the "antagonists" of p3 are an interesting bunch with how much potential they have that's not really explored but i guess thats just a hashino persona game thing.

also i just think between them and ikutsuki i def see strega having more sympathetic light being shone on them since they were the direct victims of old kirijo's depravity. out of all the kids, only they survived? your comment about them "not having any personal documents" just strikes me as so fcked up. damn. hope it changes a bit in reload.

What was something good that happened to me today oh good question. I feel like I am having a very pleasant day, but a lot of that was related to the kids at church being perfect angels and not trying to put me on BeReal in the middle of Communion. I don't talk about church kids in detail in public, but every Sunday where no one has a meltdown or swears in service is a good day lol. Oh I know!! I am a Bay FC founding season ticket holder bc I got so excited that the Bay Area finally has women's sports and I really wanted to financially support one of the teams so that people know that women's sports belong in the Bay Area. The WNBA is gonna be too much of a trek for me to make it every single game (though I WILL be attending at least a few games!!) so I went for Bay FC. all week I was having such a strop trying to choose between buying parking for tailgating and like normie parking. My brain was too frazzled by a toxic workplace to make a decision and I was like I DON'T KNOW if I'm cool enough to tailgate with soccer lesbians...like I'm just some guy and my drink of choice is sober kombucha the sports lesbians are gonna think I'm so uncool 😭 but then I asked my high school girl friends who are like either horny bisexuals or cishet but insane fans of women's soccer, bc they're the ones going with me. they were like NO WE WANT TO TAILGATE WE'RE COOL ENOUGH TO TAILGATE. so I got tailgating parking for the season and I'm very excited to be the kind of person who owns a cooler and keeps it in his car. I may even get a small folding table. Perhaps even two folding chairs. Who can say.

And then my church bestie like idly mentioned to me wanting to go to Bay FC games and I was like !!!! you can go with ME please come with ME!! It's very nice to have tickets to a sport people want to go to lol all my nonhockey friends think hockey is stupid (they're right.) I'm very excited to spend too much time on the REI website later tonight.

Among the living, the story of "The Lady Phantom and The Crown" is largely regarded as a classic fairytale, despite it not being as well known as certain stories like those by the brothers grimm or Aesop. Generally, the story goes as follows:

Long ago in the infinite realms, there was a crown with great power that chose a ruler for the realms that would lead it to prosperity. The crown was passed from king to king, guarded and guided by a spirit beyond ancient; The Lady Phantom. Some rumors and myths say they and the crown were both born from the same ectoplasm. Others say that they made the crown. As the Ancients began to rise, they claimed The Lady Phantom as one of their own, swearing to aide them in their eternal mission of the crown.

One day, a new king was chosen, Pariah The Dark. Chosen to lead his people through terrible conflict to a greater peace, he did well in the beginning, but conflict warped his purpose, and he became lost in his wrath.

The Ancients convened, and agreed to remove the crown from Pariah to find a more hopeful king. The Lady Phantom would be the one to retrieve their crown just as they had before, but Pariah had different plans.

In a fit of rage, he shattered the crown into many pieces, and scattered them across the infinite realms. In a burst of light, The Lady Phantom was gone, and The Ancients sealed away Pariah in his eternal prison of slumber.

The story ends with a promise that one day, The Lady Phantom would return to mend the broken crown and bring a new king to the infinite realms.

Danny fenton was struggling, majorly. Between his ballet practice, his homework, and making sure he and jazz actually had something to eat for dinner while his parents worked away in their lab, he was very much struggling.

Of course, his two best friends did their best to help out. Tucker helped with most of his homework, and Sam made sure he had some cash to spend on money (no matter how much he insisted he didn't really need it), and they both stayed with him when he did extra practice. It was nice, their little routine.

His parents wouldn't stop going on and on and ON about their ghost portal. It probably wouldn't work, their stuff has basically been entirely theoretical until now, but he just wanted it to be over so maybe they'd take a break and remember their kids.

It didn't work, obviously. The portal didn't even get past the "powering on" stage. Whatever. Sam wanted to go look at it and get some cool pictures for her photography class, so he was gonna bring them to the lab while his parents were off sulking.

Another few minutes and he could finally press the air in his chest out and push himself onto hands and knees. He felt-

His vision stopped swimming after several more minutes.

Yeah these are just my at-the-walls ramblings. Princess tutu au! The idea is that, like how duck could transform into a storybook character with a piece of mythos heart and had to find all the other pieces, danny can transform into an ancient spirit with a piece of the crown and has to find all the other pieces.

Yes he is in a tutu, yes he does get called "The Lady Phantom" a lot. It's weird for him in the beginning but he gets a lot more used to it when he realizes how little care there is about gender norms in the ghost zone. Danny is still very much A Guy, just A Guy in a tutu.

Amity Park is much less "Oh yeah thats a guy" about Lady Phantom, unfortunately.

Anyways let guys wear tutus and dance the Lady parts in ballet I wanna see it.

Professor Layton Games Summed Up

(MAJOR SPOILERS SINCE THESE ARE MYSTERY GAMES AND TWISTS AND TURNS ARE THIS GENRE'S BREAD AND BUTTER)

Curious Village: A professor and his kid apprentice Luke visit a village named St Mystere, thats revealed to be a secret test of character inhabited by puzzle-spouting robots set up by the late baron and his mechanic to make sure his daughter would be looked after until someone outside the village can prove themselves to be her guardian. Now that's fatherly love right there.

Pandora's Box: The professor and Luke visit a town that hasnt been changed in 50 years and visit the duke of the town to ask about Pandora's Box. A duke thinks his fiancé left him for another man when she announces her leaving town. But its actually cos she was pregnant and the town was already suffering from an air-borne illness thanks to a hallucinogenic gas that fucking killed people. And yet the duke stayed in his disease-riddled town cos of duty or some shit and sent an expensive box with a letter inside to his fiance, hoping she'll get a chance to read it. Yeah, this is Pandora's Box btw. He then pretended to be a vampire to scare people from visiting his castle. Then 50 odd years later, his granddaughter goes on this quest to find him and fix this whole misunderstanding. Why couldn't the child of the duke and his fiance be there? Cos she died giving birth, she isnt even fucking namedropped good lord. But the duke mistakes her granddaughter for his fiance cos she's the spitting image of her, but when the girl understandably hides behind Layton, the duke fucking swordfights Layton. then its revealed the duke's youth, the entire town and its people are all an illusion cos he's super high on dem hallucinogens and after the swordfight caused the whole castle to crash, the town is revealed to be a ghost town, the duke is now a withered old man and it turns out the box did make it to the duke's lover all along as there's her response letter inside!... Oh yeah the Professor and Luke were there too. What were the writers smoking and can I have some?

Lost Future: A young man who lost his parents in the collateral damage of a scientific experiment happening literally next door and grew up deciding he wants to be a terrorist. He then proceeds to manipulate and kidnap other scientists for his plans to built an ACCURATE SCALE MODEL OF LONDON UNDERGROUND, pretend to be the future self of the professor's apprentice and convince him and the professor they're in the London of the future. Then builds a giant tower robot to smash through the fake London and the real London to commit terrorism. He then gets Steven Universe redeemed cos of course he does. Fucking hell this story sucks.

Spectre's Call: The professor, Luke and a futch lesbian investigate a spectre that's rampaging throughout a misty town every night. It is revealed to be a plesiosaur fighting an excavating machine, its just the fog made them look they were one entity. And the reason the plesiosaur was fighting the machine? The villain Descole wanted to use that machine to dig up an ancient garden of legend hidden beneath the town and the plesiosaur did everything in its power to stop it cos she wanted a sick little girl named Ariana to be happy again (cos she lost her father and the townspeople thought she was a witch) and wanted to give that garden to Ariana because its pure air will be able to cure her illness. And the plesiosaur - s-she died to save Ariana and there was a beautiful statue of the plesiosaur made by the townspeople in her honour- (crying) GODDAMNIT THIS IS TOO MUCH! THIS IS SO SOFT AND SAD I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME

Miracle Mask: The professor and the gang visit Italian Las Vegas???To visit an old friend of Layton, Angela and her husband Henry. And they're clearly in need of a divorce. Anyway, a tumblr sexyman wearing a Vendetta mask terrorises Italian Las Vegas and turns ppl into stone and doing fancy magic and shit and the professor investigate. It turns out the tumblr masked guy is actually another old friend of Layton's called Randall Ascot (YEP THATS HIS NAME) whom everyone thought he was dead and his primary motive was that his pal Henry (who started out as a servant to him btw) married Angela and he's pissed off about it so he kidnapped Angela.. Even though Angela didnt even know he survived this whole time. What is it with this series and men going completely off the rails whenever a pretty woman is involved? But oh no it wasnt Randall who was the real villain, it was Descole pulling the strings all along OOOHHHH. What is it with Layton's past friends trying to get revenge on him? Like dude's just standing there, sipping tea. This game was a mess

Azran Legacy: Okay I havent played it nor do I have the willpower to pick the game up and play it without getting bored. So I looked up the plot summary on the wiki and watched the in game cutscenes... I think this clip below sums up my entire thoughts of this game

At some point, Judge had started getting bad press for having a son he abandoned and is now in a mental hospital. He didn't know how the word got out, but it did and he decided that he'd get him out and treat him in some private place but it was very obvious that he didn't want to go and since he was a legal adult, he could decide for himself. (Even if he wanted to leave, the doctors were the only ones who could dismiss him after he signed himself in.)

About his brothers - They look a lot like the heroes from the Germa comics and act just as uptight and heartless as them. Subconsciously, Luffy must have mistaken them for "The Warriors Of The Sea". But in reality they're just brats who used to bully their brother - mean little kids who grew up to be even worse adults. Sanji's sister, however, I imagine has visited before, only this time she wasn't dressed like she was in hiding. The Vinsmoke family (in my head) is a bit like the Rockefellers - everyone knows who they are and it's hard to drop their name in a casual conversation and not get some kind of reaction.

In regards to his past - Sanji still got abused and beaten up by both his father and brothers. But instead of being a failed experiment, he was just a nice little boy who didn't like sports and competing in things, he just liked stereotypically girly things like butterflies flowers, cooking, and pretty things. His father didn't like that, as he believed that all his dons should be manly men who won chess tournaments, so soccer games, basketball matches or martial arts competitions. If they weren't the strongest, smartest, most handsome men in their circle, then they were no sons of his. And Sanji didn't meet that criteria. He didn't care for sports or competing, he just wanted to have fun and to have friends. Don't get me wrong, he was still smart. But wanting to be a cook is not exactly a good look if all of your family is just CEOs and multimillionaire company holders. Or at least in Judge's eyes. So when Sanji ran away at 12 (I'm making him older to make it more realistic), Judge just closed his eyes and reported him missing in the wrong region so he couldn't be found and so the investigation could declare him dead after the appropriate amount of years.

The golden bracelets were real, but they weren't exploding, Judge just used them to yank Sanji when he got mad at him and threaten him. "I'll cut them off till wherever they reach!" he'd say, so Sanji would wish to be skinnier so if they slip off, then maybe he wouldn't cut his hands off? That was his child logic at least. That's how his questionable relationship with food started, but later on he'd just starve himself to feel like he still has control over something in his life. Anything. That or as a punishment to himself, more than often he wouldn't believe he deserved food or he'd think that there are people with bigger needs than him. So he'd lose appetite and maybe feel sick enough to throw up. (Him having bulimia is one of the many reasons why hates himself and thinks he doesn't deserve food, because why eat if he'd just throw it up?(Zoro hates that he thinks that way btw and he tries feeding him every once in a while because he'd notice that Sanji could scarcely say no to him. Plus he likes taking care of him))

AITA for refusing to give up on my friend?

Hi! I (13M) have this really cool friend group. Or at least… I did. The other members were F (13F) and K (13M), and we were super super close. We met at our middle school.

But… we’re not normal middle schoolers. I was the first one to find out. I’m actually the reincarnation of a super cool super-powered alien (who was not actually an alien, but it’s more fun to describe it that way) who died 15 years ago.

I know I’m him, btw. I’m not just making it up. Dude was a super big public figure, and I have tons of his memories. My teacher (who was one of his students at one point) (30m) even agrees with me. He thinks I’m the real deal.

F is the reincarnation of someone, too. Specifically, someone I knew in my past life. In our past lives she was a normal, albeit REALLY NICE person who inspired me a lot… someone who I accidentally got killed. I was heartbroken when I remembered how she died and super stoked when F told me she was her. That’s not why we became friends, of course— F has always been my ride or die, but I was so, so happy my dear friend had been alongside me all this time.

But while on the topic of how F… died in our past lives, I should probably mention what my job was before I was an alien.

I was a serial killer. I called myself an assassin, but that’s giving myself too much credit, really. Ultimately, I was just a murderer— and an INFAMOUS one, too. I had a kill count in the thousands. I was an honest-to-god no good, selfish, terrible guy. It makes me feel sick to even think about.

I even had an apprentice in killing, and one I treated like garbage. I stole him away from his bad family and instead of showing him love only showed him more hatred. I treated that boy like trash.

The only reason I stopped being a serial killer is that he handed me over to authorities. And authorities… well, for reasons I still don’t really understand, they handed me over to this… guy. I’ll call him Y. Y was a no-good, rotten, nasty piece of work. Every bit as bad as I was… and that’s saying a lot! He instantly began to perform extremely painful human experiments on me, doing so with the excuse that no one would miss me.

But it wasn’t all bad. In Y’s custody is where I met F in our past lives. She was working for him. And he treated her like garbage, too. He’d hit her and call her names and make her feel so unsafe. She was miserable when she was around him.

I… tried my best to help, but there’s not a lot I could do from behind a glass screen. Still, I came to empathize with F, and it was actually becoming her friend that made me want to give up killing.

Eventually, I escaped Y’s lab, but at a terrible cost. I turned into a alien monster and went on a horrific rampage— killing tons of people. And even worse, F got killed, too. Like I said: it was an accident, a result of a trap that Y set up, but at the same time it really, REALLY felt like my fault. I hated myself. Both in that life and now when I learned about it.

Still, I lived an okay life after that. I ended up taking in some students that F originally cared for and nurtured them. And I treated them right, unlike I treated my original apprentice. Because of them and F, I learned to love. Eventually, I died, but only after sending Y into hospice and getting to say goodbye to my beloved kids.

I was content with that.

But... here I am now.

Originally, I didn't remember all of this. I just remembered being a cool superpowered guy. Learning how messed up all of it was really, REALLY scared me. I was glad when I learned that F was... well, F, so I could apologize to her, but that didn't fix everything. After all, there were still so many people I hurt. I felt like an awful person who didn't deserve to be alive. My friends and family tried to comfort me, but it was... really hard, for a time.

And even worse than that, soon after, K started drifting away from me.

I know I haven't talked about K much, so let me describe him a little. He's a real stand-up guy. A little cowardly... but he has a big heart. He was always-- and I mean ALWAYS there for me and F, even as we learned all the weird stuff about our past lives. He's funny and sweet and supportive. The kind of person I'd do anything for. I really, really loved him, and so did F.

So... things were stressful when he started to pull away. He stopped hanging out with us. Kept giving us the cold shoulder. I didn't understand why. I thought maybe it was because he was scared of me now, but that wasn't fair to F. I confronted him and told him that if I was a bad person then F shouldn't have to suffer for it. That he was really important to her, and he should keep being her friend, at least!

But that's when K told me something, and it was something I NEVER expected to hear.

...K was Y.

He told me he just remembered recently. That he really didn't know. He broke down in tears, telling me that that's why he pulled away. He remembered abusing the two of us and felt like he no longer deserved to our friend. It was well and truly heartbreaking to hear.

Because... here's the thing. I hate Y. Like really, REALLY hate Y, but K is nothing like him. K is one of the best people I know. He's never treated me like anything less than a superhero. He wouldn't hurt a fly.

I told him it was alright. I told him I didn't care. I told him that the past was the past and that Y was dead now and he was someone new. He was shocked, but I really, really believed it. And for the first time, in saying so, I actually felt alright about myself. I realized that if K wasn't responsible for his actions in a past life-- if he never asked to be born, then neither did I. I realized that if I didn't hate him, then maybe... I didn't have to hate myself.

But K... also wanted to tell F the truth.

I get why he did. He kept saying she deserved to know. But at the same time, F is a pretty... standoffish person. She's not like she used to be-- all kind and forgiving. It took me a very long time to befriend her. She gets angry easily and she makes a lot of snap judgements. I was so certain she'd get upset with K.

And F... really needed me and K, I think. She had a bad life. Her parents weren't at all nice to her and she had a lot of self esteem issues. K and I were the only friends she had. I knew that if she ditched K, then she wouldn't have anyone. No-one would be there to support her.

And I'd be asked to take sides. How could I possibly do something like that?

So I convinced K to hide it. I told him that he was a new person now and F didn't need to know. All telling her would do is break her heart. I didn't want to hurt her like that.

And so for a while, the secret remained between us.

But then something really bad happened to K's family. I won't go into details, 'cause I'm not sure it's my place, but it was something truly awful. He nearly lost a parent, and even worse... he was convinced it was his fault. He CERTAIN that the universe was punishing him in some way for being Y, or at the very least, for not telling F about it, and that if he didn't spill the beans then even worse stuff would happen.

...So he did. He told her.

And F reacted just like I thought she would. Angry and crying, she said she couldn't believe she ever trusted him. She accused him of just pretending to not know... and manipulating her so he could hurt her. She was pissed. She punched K in the face and told him she never wanted to see him again.

I tried to reason with her, but she wouldn't hear me out. And when she learned I knew about this before she did... that I suggested hiding it from her, she got even more upset. She told me that I was taking her abuser's side over her-- someone that I'd been friends with for two lifetimes now, and that she never wanted to see me again, either. She called me a selfish jerk and ran off sobbing.

And... that's where things are at. Our little friend group's torn apart. I really want to fix things, but I don't even know where to start. Did I do the wrong thing? By taking K's side? By telling him to hide the truth? I just wanted to protect he and F... I really love them both. But now I'm being expected to choose, and I hate that.

Even K thinks I made the wrong call. That I shouldn't have told him to hide it and that F had every right to react how she did. But at the same time... I just feel so sick. I know he's better now. He's my friend. He has to be better. If he's not, then I'm not. I'm just a no-good killer. Why can't F just see that? Remember all the nice stuff K's done for her?

What do I do? How do I repair things? I feel like if I were still the guy I was in my past life then I'd know how to. But instead, I'm clueless. I feel lost and useless. I'm really, really sorry and afraid.

Easter Weekend is over, time for myself lets continue. Big rig is US slang for one of those long-distance deliverytrucks right? --- Christmas tune on a truckstop. Its a christmass special i guess. (and here i was hoping for a break from the horrors of Christianity) Girlboss Tiktok Influencer... Ravi is fired. --- Yup, fuck the US Trucking industry, (i saw a John Oliver piece, this is all realistic, or at least it will be until the 3rd act twist that actually, the company is using the trucks to smuggle drugs/art/stolen goods)

huh, little note of implication that Parker has been visiting Hardisons family for christmass during the timeskip. (makes sense, but makes me worried about the whole "archie acknowledging Parker to his bio-daughter" thing in the last season of the OG series and how that ended up long-term)

Scrooge comparison. New Rule: When you are a long-running TV show, you are only allowed to use a given Christmass Special Reference once. You are allowed to repeat it over the course of the given episode but when you've made it you've burned it. Harry has limited good news: There is grounds for a class action suit. (bad news: They'll have sold by then). Goal: Get YDN to not buy then sue.

Harry has done some digging: The trucks are paid off in full. Ravi does legally own his truck. --- One botnet and one Sophie later and we've got permission to bring cameras to the active crimescene. Because Paige is an idiot. (on a related note, Sophie's colleague is observant and verry worried about what might happen if Sophie slacks off. This seems like the third act twist isnt "we're smuggling weapons" but Sophie leaves post and a trucker almost dies.) Meanwhile its time for Breanna and Elliot to have some fun, (by which i mean vandalism)

Im Jamie, this is Jamie, we've heard all the jokes. (great, both as a joke and to sell the "we're real people who have lives outside of you" by pre-empting the opening you deliberately made)

Breanna clones the Ipad and we're off to the races.

And as we leave we have succesfully divided. (and unfortunately not conquered, there is always another vulture and also we're like 20 minutes into the episode) Luke is faced by his two thugs. "Big Jim" is not gonna be happy (they're in deep to the mob?) --- One Day Till Christmass, Sophie is still in denial. (also i was right they are smuggling.)

Breanna suspects the thugs might be involved.

Jamie and Jamie are back and putting the camera in Thug and Thugly's faces (Which means Breanna is probably running face ID) Reframing their deliberately engineered humiliation as the start of a Rags To Riches fantasy. Good one.

And Elliot is planting the seeds of paranoia (honestly strange Elliot didnt get fired by Luke yesterday) The farm upstate, its always the farm upstate. --- Janice has abandoned Sophie to check out a christmass present in the loading docks.

Good news: Sophie has found a potential new person to be "in charge" after they oust Luke and Paige. Bad news: They left dispatch unatended and I wouldnt be suprised to find out a truck just crashed. Ah right, the dads name is Nick, like Santa. How could i take this long to notice. (In hindsight Elliot said as much, but i thought he was just making fun of the beard) --- We're back with Harry and Parker, and Paige's open willingness to confess to her crimes on camera to what she believes to be a nationwide audience.

Luke has a gambling problem (he loves the horses about as much as Paige loves the bags). Im almost a bit sorry for Paige. Guns are in the crate that the toys are in.

Elliot gives a goon a crowbar just so he can make the goon hit himself with the crowbar.

guns are in the toytruck (I dont really care? He's not delivering the guns he's moving them away from the cameras. These guns are not gonna be used and while toys for orphans are good they're a cherry on the cake)

Breanna is in the truck (ok i care about that) --- Turns out he is delivering the guns. Sophie tells Janice whats been happening (wait, why are you English? 8.75/10)

Oh she's using the handbags to smuggle the guns? Clever girl. --- Paige threatens to tattle on the thugs (and it seems to work)

I'll be honest, this jump seems more like a Parker thing then an Elliot thing. But i think its just a case that Parker could not believably fail this jump (jumping off stuff is sort of her specialty) so she's been chained to a driverseat to make an excuse for the scene to have some tension.

Two guns in a luxury sedan vs Elliot in a big rig truck. This is just not a fair fight. Wait elliots truck has SPIKES ON THE WHEELS? WHY DOES THE CHRISMTAS TRUCKS HAVE SPIKES ON THE WHEELS? --- Back from commercials, Elliot puts a half-unconcious Luke in the driver seat and calls the cops Meanwhile Breanna finds a childrens chemistry set in the christmas presents (like stealing candy from a gun-smuggling baby) Paige doesnt even get to be present for the big bust (turns out, using a Personal Brand to smuggle guns is kind of incriminating) --- Final Denoement ensues, handing presents out of of the back of the truck. (but seriously, why does the truck have wheelspikes? They didnt even matter to the chasescene choreography but it had WHEELSPIKES? Why does the Santamobile have James Bond Villain-car features?)

a problem i’m having with MoM + wanda stans is that it was written by michael waldron (who wrote that idiotic sylki plot) & ppl are going to use that as an excuse as to why wanda’s character was “ruined” even though she’s consistently been shown to be a very unstable character capable of mass destruction since she was introduced. like i do think michael waldron made a lot of dumb fucking plot choices that don’t make any sense but also he picked up wanda’s story where wandavision left off, so... anyway, spoilers and lots of rambling under the cut

so first off, her lack of control wrt her powers. when pietro dies in aou, she sends out a shockwave because she screams. she (albeit accidentally) blows up that building in civil war. vision in infinity war is the reason she enslaves an entire town out of “grief” or whatever because initially she didn’t realize what was going on, and even then it took her far too long to let the innocent people go because she wanted her fake little family to stay together. and now in MoM, the darkhold is bringing to the forefront what anyone with a brain already knew: wanda maximoff is dangerous. she will do whatever she wants to get her way, and the darkhold lets her do so almost completely unchallenged (see the way she rips apart CAPTAIN FUCKING MARVEL on top of the other “illuminati” members).

(i also need to mention here that giving wanda, a character who is jewish in the comics, a plot line revolving around kidnapping america in an attempt to use her to get to au wanda’s kids, is wildly antisemitic. not that that’s anything new with the mcu, considering they also had wanda and pietro willingly join hydra.)

none of her arguments even make sense!!! wong literally says “you could just… ask america to send you to another universe” and her response is “well what if my boys get sick??” like ??? as if giving unrestrained multiversal travel to the most unstable magic user in the mcu is worth the risk bc one of her kids might get cancer or something. get a grip, wanda.

not to mention the fact that she’d have to kill her own alternate self in order to even exist in that universe, and the fact that those boys would never be hers. HER twins were a figment of her imagination brought to “life” by her magic. they weren’t real, and the experiences she had with them are not universal. trying to pretend she’s the mother of these au twins was never going to play out the way she wanted. and btw what about vision??? where is he in all of this?? he was the catalyst and he wasn’t mentioned or shown a single time.

anyway, her entire plot line based around being a “mother” is just ridiculous, honestly. “i’m not a monster. i’m a mother.” “all mothers create their children out of magic.” like what are you people talking about. WHAT are you saying. no real mother is going to kill a child to get what she wants, and to have wanda say TO HER KIDS FACES “i would never hurt someone!” when they JUST saw her choking the life out of america… did anybody read this script after waldron wrote it? did he just plug some prompts into ai dungeon and let it run wild? jesus christ

and then you take into account the aos darkhold giving aida the knowledge to literally build her own human body and it’s like. well why the fuck didn’t wanda just do THAT? if the darkhold is the same in every universe (as basically confirmed by wanda destroying every darkhold ever by collapsing the temple ((which was stupid as fuck))), there’s no reason this spell couldn’t have been used. she could have built her kids exactly the way they were except they’d be human this time. but then they’d have to bring in ghost rider and god FORBID it be robbie reyes like the aos universe because then they’d have wanda kill him off like she does with sara and maria rambeau. because she just can’t get enough of harming/killing the characters of color she comes in contact with (monica rambeau i’m sorry they treated you like that in wandavision). regardless, the solution to all her problems was in the same goddamn book she’s been reading, but instead she decides to go hunt down a child with the intent to kill her.

but i’m not done yet!! there’s also the “wanda is being held hostage by the scarlet witch in her own mind” plotline that is IMMEDIATELY fucking thrown out the second the scene is over. professor x sees “wanda” amidst the rubble of her destroyed childhood home and is like “i can help you out of here,” only to get his neck snapped by “scarlet witch.” personally, as this is NEVER REFERENCED AGAIN, i think it was all a ploy by wanda. i think she was trying to throw him off his guard, and it worked. because she’s massively overpowered and everyone else is nerfed. but that’s just a theory. EDIT: i’ve been informed that this was a scene most likely regarding au wanda who was being possessed by 616 wanda but i’m leaving it in for anyone who had the same thought as i did. i feel like wong said something abt wanda being possessed by the scarlet witch at one point but yknow. brain fuzz.

anyway, her “sacrificial” scene at the end means nothing when she isn’t shown as having any real remorse over what she did. she never even fucking apologizes for repeatedly almost killing america??? she gets the shit knocked out of her by america, has a weird “emotional” scene with her au self, and decides for some reason to tear down the temple afterwards. there’s no real reconciliation with what she’s done, there’s absolutely no consequences as of yet because there’s no way in hell she’s really dead. she never acknowledged that she did anything wrong, she just told corpse strange that no one would ever use the darkhold again. that last scene wasn’t a “heroic sacrifice” or a “redemption arc,” it was a suicide.

in conclusion. the horror aspect was very fun, i liked america, strange was fine (he was NOT a hypocrite in using the darkhold btw considering he was trying to save the child wanda wanted to murder + save the entire multiverse & is suffering the consequences), i think it’ll be fun if he turns into a villain next, and while i fully believe wanda’s arc was continued properly from the end of wandavision, she’s really fucking dumb in this because the plot makes no sense compared to the grand scheme of the mcu. also lizzie olsen does not have the range for the rage wanda was supposed to be showing in the scene at kamar-taj. the end.

anyways a few days ago i was reading babtqftim again and like… idk why but i lowkey found mickey’s relationship with boris super uncomfortable …???? idk if anyone else will agree because i’m probably just being delusional but STILL. i just found it super weird for mickey to try and just isolate/separate boris from his own brother because he has the illness like???? i mean i get that he’s like trying to protect boris or something but it was written in such a uncomfortable manner that i can’t describe.

it was weird to me because it started off as just boris meeting mickey which is awesome but then delved into something uncomfortable with mickey being all like oh my boris oh my poor baby i will protect you and remove your brother out of your life— not to mention how uncomfortable it felt for mickey to suddenly up and ask boris to join him knowing that boris would hardly be able to say no, especially with their power dynamics.

look i like to compare eggman and tails a lot bc they're fundamentally parallel between each other and their relationship w sonic n all that jazz that we know but LISTEN!!!

eggman has been diagnosed very obviously for plenty of years already and since it's very usual for people to be prejudiced against it i actually find interesting that he is so so self absorbed into his genius persona and being more invested into keeping that idea on others mind.

so okay listen words are funny. giftedness is a way of asynchronous development in the brain where some parts develop "quicker" than others (compared to most brains) and is not exactly fun all the time

a good analogy i like is about "mental age" (which was acc a predecessor of the idea of IQ!) where you have people who are chronologically, say, 12 years old, but their emotional regulation is alike to an 8 year old but ALSO their intellectual needs are the ones of a 19 year old. yeah. it gets like that.

so a lot of time in children it's the classic (super harmful) "hypermature" mentality that sees them and keeps them in that pedestal (yes this has to do w sonic still) and adults are usually seen as less mature than their peers, more child-like and less apt to be actually functional people in everyday live n that causes issues because part of the giftedness of it all is that the creativity and child-like wonder is a fundamental part of how our brain is wired wether we like it or not. so that "childish" part is always seens as less from the outside and DUDE YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I ADORE EGGMAN

LISTEN TO ME eggman is textbook evil villain for kids entertainment franchise and also good foil for sonic and tails mainly Oh no we're not just talking abt that we're talking about symptoms here and i LOVE how some of them is clear he learned to accept and live with and others not

It’s a long story of circle of abuse, I used to save her from my father hitting her and few years later I had to save myself from both of them hitting me
