The rich Upper Classes enjoyed new types of music at court. They had a taste for new music and new dances. Many courtiers travelled abroad and returned to the Tudor court with dances from Italy, Spain and France. Tudor dances were highly sophisticated and stately with intricate steps although the old favourite English country dances were still popular.

"You are good at keeping yourself inconspicuous," she said. "But your veins run with the blood of kings, and your mind is filled with the secrets of an empire. You are like a lamp burning quietly by itself in a dark room. Sooner or later someone is going to exploit your radiance ..."
Her words trailed off.
"... again," she finished softly.
Goewin and Telemakos in that scene at the end of chapter eight of The Lion Hunter. The composition is based on The Penitent Magdalene by Georges de la Tour, and I don't think I would have drawn it without @fishmaid's beautiful Attolia Irene study of a similar painting living in my brain.
soundtrack for Goewin: "The Tower" by Vienna Teng ("she carries the act so convincingly the fact is/ sometimes she believes it/ that she can be happy the way things are/ be happy with the things she's done")

SVU Aesthetics: Liz/Alex -> Liz/Casey // 5x4 'Loss' -> 9x19 'Cold'
Remembering the accident
The puppy love slipped from your heart
Along with the nonsense
Our memories would not be played
To friends in a slide show
There had never been that much to see
At the end of our rainbow
Humidity and last sunbeams
In a vacant lot

i do hate what they did to elizabeth woodville in that last episode tough… for better or for worse, she was always an active protagonist. id really rather they had her do more spells and whatnot than quiety sit at grafton waiting everything out. it didn’t feel like the elizabeth woodville we watched in the rest of the show for that last episode

Lion Hunters lions lines I'll NEVER ever be over: Sheer Impact Edition
That is why I will never come back to you.
"he obeyed when they made him lie prostrate at my feet: naked, my arms chained behind my back--" As though amazed by his mistake, Abreha slapped the carpet at his side so that the dust flew in the firelight. "Behind his back," Abreha corrected. "His arms chained behind his back."
Medraut was not talking to Telemakos. Medraut was lost in a dead British winter with his dead British brother.
"You have not been given leave to speak, Ras Meder."
"Lion against lion!"
I'm never going to be over anything in these books, but, you know, these lines! Sentences! Words! You have not been given leave to speak, Ras Meder. Help!
