After the first trailer for Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken came out this thought has reached everyone's minds, Chelsea the mermaid looks exactly like Ariel. Making Chelsea Ariel's evil DreamWorks counterpart, twin/identical cousin or a clone Ursula created and then sent to the world of DreamWorks. To ensure that the real Ariel doesn't turn Chelsea good, like she did to an Ariel clone I had read about in a Disney Princess comic as a kid. Even though Chelsea looks just like Ariel, she also have some Ursula-like traits. For example, the trident is most likely the one we saw in the hands of Ruby's kraken grandmother queen and that Chelsea will most likely use the stolen trident to go gigantic. Not waning to use someone else's "evil Ariel" artwork without asking, as that will be stealing even if I do credit them, I decided to use Fractured Ariel from the Disney Mirrorverse  app game.

I recently watched The Little Mermaid (2023) and it was so sweet and fun! 🌊🫧🎶 I loved Halle Bailey's Ariel, the new songs, the small changes that were made to the story and Ariel and Eric's relationship 💕✨️ I usually don't watch the live action adaptations of animated movies but this one had me really curious and I enjoyed it a lot! ✨️

It's so funny to imagine how differently that "Scuttlebutt" scene would play out with the 1989 versions of The Little Mermaid's cast.

If 1989 Scuttle decided to just start rapping out of nowhere to Ariel and Sebastian, Sebastian would have clamped his beak shut before he got past the first few verses.

Here is Ariel as a Wolfwalker. If Sabastian freaked out when she had two legs, I would love to see his reaction to her having four. The fur around her mane and tail is a reference to her iconic red hair and the rest of her coat color in based off of her green mermaid tail. I wanted to still have some visual reference to her being a mermaid so I tried to make the end of her tail look like fins. The shell around her neck is a nod to her purple mermaid shells.

Rewatched the animated Little Mermaid and realized that wow, Ursula was actually really crap at planning.

She turned Ariel into a human and she only didn't drown and made it to land because Sebastian and Flounder happened to be in the room. And it's pretty clear Ursula had no idea they were there.

So basically, had it not been for a factor Ursula was unaware of, Ariel would have died then and there and her whole plan would be foiled before the movie's even halfway done.

Not to mention she was laughing so hard while Ariel was drowning that she didn't even notice she was.

Awful strategist. Wow.

This is the first of a set I'm planning to do of Disney Princesses wit their iconic items. Starting with Ariel from the Little Mermaid with the Dinglehopper. Not only did I use screengrabs of the mermaid and her fork hairbrush from the original animated film, I also threw in her House of Mouse, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Once Upon A Time, Broadway, theme park, toy and 2023 remake counterparts, from moments when she is holding a Dinglehopper.

I always write Melody is usually babysat by Joe

Um. Maybe? I highly doubt he would, though, given that the premise of the 2nd Little Mermaid movie was about Ariel keeping her oceanic origins a secret from Melody.

But, if you're talking about when she was a baby, before she got taken away by Morgana, then yeah, I can see it. Granted, he is partly human, but he's still a cecaelian. I doubt that he could go on forever without going back to the ocean. Plus, he'd probably want to tie up whatever loose ends he has, whether that involves Ursula or anything relating to his past.

If we were to redraft the movie with Joe in mind, he would've definitely helped Ariel find Melody or maybe help Melody get in touch with her mermaid roots. It is canon from the shows and interactions with guests that he views Ariel as a little girl, perhaps as a niece, so Melody would be his "grandniece." And I think that's super sweet!
