👑Disney 100 Month, Week 2: Princesses and Princes (part 2)👑
🫧Melody, Ariel’s daughter, is my favorite unofficial Disney princess! I changed up her style a little just for fun. She is another character I kin.🫧

Know what I just realized? Prince Eric’s overprotective mom trying to keep him away from the sea... is EXACTLY like The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea when he and Ariel do the exact same thing to their own daughter.
(In all seriousness if that cartoon gets remade I want to see Eric be a much more involved father. )

Oh shit I just realised the reason I resonated so hard with this girl as a kid was because there's literally no way she's not autistic and I'm seeing the growing up undiagnosed autistic parallels between me and her and goddammit I don't need another hyperfixation right now

Why am I paying for therapy when I keep projecting myself onto fictional characters for free

Special Note: For those of you familiar with Rule of Rose, you may have noticed that Clara's self harm wounds have been painted over. This was done in order to not catch anyone who might be triggered by them off guard. This is also to make sure everyone can safely participate in voting without missing any of the match-ups.
Thank you for understanding.

the little mermaid 2 both ariel and melody learn accept the other’s part of themselves that they have been discrediting in their lives ( melody wanting fins instead feet and ariel learning that her mermaid roots are just as important to her as her love for the human world and everything it’s given her)

Sometime ago, my sister @sunlit-creator came up with a Non/Disney Crossover story where animated movie characters lived across an expansive galaxy.
Captain Hook (Peter Pan) is named Emperor Hook, and he rules his empire and its colonies with an iron fist (or hook). He has three children: Princess Marina (Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas), Prince Dean (The Iron Giant), and Princess Melody (The Little Mermaid II). The siblings aren't power-hungry like their father, and they wish for a better future for the entire galaxy. They run off to form a rebellion. Whether or not their defection from the empire is known by their father is unknown to me.
This brings me to the image. Melody wanted to join Dean and Marina's rebellion, but Dean and Marina were hesitant at first. They did allow her to join them anyway. The composition was based on a screenshot from Steven Universe, where Pearl told Steven how Rose Quartz recruited her to the rebellion (Rose's Scabbard).
My sister plans to rewrite the scene, which also involves me redrawing everything. I don't mind though. I love working on this with her.

Martini from Olive the Other Reindeer (1999), voiced by Joe Pantoliano
Tip from The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea (2000), voiced by Max Casella
If I had a nickel for every time a male Italian American actor voiced a cartoon penguin who served as comedic relief to a plucky female protagonist in the late 90s/early 2000s, I would have two nickels-- which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Concerning your ask-
The ramifications of the wall is in the same category as 'how in the world did Arendelle even make money after the king and queen decided to shut off all contact with everyone? How did the people-especially those who had connections to other kingdoms-feel about this?'
Realistically it should be a big issue, but because it's Disney it doesn't really cause much problems.
LOL good point!! TBF the King&Queen of Arendelle did go on a sea voyage while shutting off their entire kingdom. Which makes me think during that time, Arendelle only let a few trusted people leave the kingdom to help maintain diplomatic relations and acquire resources. Basically just enough for Arendelle to survive and not collapse into anarchy .
I think Arendelle’s citizens hated the previous King&Queen for shutting the gates for so long. Just based on how happy they were about Elsa finally opening the gates.
(This is one reason I love movies like Black Panther & Nimona. They use fantastical worlds to show all the terrible real-world ramifications of keeping a nation isolated from the rest of the world.)
