how love flows through the houses

first house - in the first house, love flows through us from the first breath. we aren’t always loved by those around us, or by ourselves, but i believe we are at our best when love is in all that we do, and all that we are. the first house rules selfhood; our identity, instincts and reactions, our outward expression. from birth, we naturally seek out attachment and love, and this need never really leaves us, simply changing shape over the years. the first house asks us to be the loving adult we needed as children. to treat ourselves with the love we deserve as humans. it asks us to be ourselves, radically and relentlessly, and not to shrink or hide ourselves from the world. it asks us to be.

second house - the second house is where we find love in our immediate surroundings. it’s how we value ourselves, how we value those around us. the security and comfort we feel in the womb, and later, when we find our true home. it’s feeling safe in our own skin, nourishing and embracing ourselves, letting down an anchor within that we can always return to when times are hard and chaos rules our lives. the love of the second house is found through seeing the inherent worth we have as human beings. it’s love that comes from enough; have enough, feel enough, good enough.

third house - in the third house, love is expressed through curiosity, communication, connections. the questioning eyes of an eager child, the first time you met your childhood best friend, staying up all night to finish a new book. it isn’t a romantic kind of love, but the love that we have for our siblings, our friends, our hometown. there’s a sense of nostalgia to it; it’s pure and sweet and a little silly at times. life can often shame and sweep this type of love away as we get older and have to conform to ever-shifting goalposts. the love of the third house comes from a deep desire to understand, and a keenness to connect with the world - and people - around us. we feel it most when we communicate honestly with ourselves and others, and allow ourselves to be beginners.

fifth house - in the fifth house, it’s easy to see love; it’s all about what we create, what we adore and admire, what we breathe life into. it’s a light, sparkling kind of love, that fills us with a glow and a sense of belonging. it is a love to be shared freely and enthusiastically, to show off a little. when we create a work of art, when we connect with a person for the first time, when we make someone’s day, when we hold a newborn for the first time and see how fragile and beautiful they are, we are embodying the spirit of love in the fifth house. we can honour it by showing ourselves respect, kindness, and pride, by being generous and passionate, by having firsts and by having fun along the way.

sixth house - now we plant our feet back on the ground and find ourselves in the sixth house. love here is much more subtle, but we see it through service; what we do for ourselves, our loved ones, our environment. i would say the theme is devotion, not necessarily in the religious sense, though religion is a divine kind of love in and of itself; but we devote ourselves through selfless, timeless love, and that is exactly the spirit of the sixth house. why do we tend a garden? why do we take in animals? why do we kiss a scraped knee? it all comes from love. when we dedicate ourselves to living at a kinder pace, to taking the time to breathe, to finding the ritualistic in the mundane and to creating a sustainable way of living for ourselves and our loved ones, we are full of love.

seventh house - the seventh house is all about partnership. it’s one of the houses that is almost always associated with love, because it traditionally rules our marriage partner and is ruled by venus and libra. but there’s more to love than marriage, and that’s why i like to say partnership instead. you could say that love is expressed in the seventh house through one-on-one connections; both romantically and otherwise, this is where we love the individuals we journey through life with. it’s all about that red thread that runs between you and them. there’s an intimacy and uniqueness to each relationship here, where you and they are reflected at each other. the love of the seventh house is most clearly felt in those moments when there is nothing else in the world but the two of you.

eighth house - the eighth house is another one that’s often associated with love, though of a less cerebral type than its predecessor. we generally think of the physical here, and that’s not wrong, but perhaps misses an important piece of the puzzle; the eighth house rules shared resources. our bodies are a resource when it comes to love, but really, what we are sharing is trust, vulnerability, the binding of two souls as one. when we meet in the middle with love at the forefront, we give a piece of ourselves, and receive a piece of our lover. we each become the missing piece of the other, transforming ourselves on a level we may or may not feel. love here can be murky, but it runs deep and wild.

ninth house - in the ninth house, we find a subtle, cool love. it isn’t fiery or romantic, but it is ageless and transcendent. the ninth house is all about wisdom, exploration, religion, travel. love here is best felt when we do what we love; when we are learning, growing, moving. stagnation is no good here, and the ninth house shows us we need to be challenged a little in order to become our best selves. it doesn’t mean we need to suffer, but when everything is easy, we stop learning and we stop really living. being honest, explorative, open-minded and passionate is the way to embody this patient, unorthodox kind of love.

tenth house - here, we find love through legacy. what have we built? what have we become? the fire within that helped us grow through our challenges, that helped us find our place and master it, and allowed us to build something worth keeping, is where love resides. it’s that little voice inside that urges us forward when everything is dark. it’s ambition, courage, patience and diligence. we see it in good leaders, in kind parents. love here isn’t always pretty, but it is real. it asks us to create something to leave behind, to pass our love down. it asks us to take control of our destiny and then to relinquish it to our descendants.

eleventh house - in the eleventh house, love is felt and expressed through ideas. the nurturing and sharing of ideas and ideals is what helps us build community; it’s what allows us to better the lives of who and what we love. love is fostered through collaboration, and the eleventh house, ruling friends, community and the widest of our social connections, is all about collaborative effort. i believe that the eleventh house teaches us that love isn’t always easy. it’s work, it involves a lot of slowing down and showing up, a lot of listening, it can be slow and tedious. but love is about wanting to be our best selves, and share our best with the ones we love.

twelfth house - pure, infinite, unconditional love. it's unspoken, untouched, but ever-present. it follows us from the first to the last breath, and wraps itself around us like a silken shroud as we step into the next life. we often don't feel this universal love, not consciously; it's a part of everything. do we feel the oxygen in the air we breathe? well, we feel the lack of it. but here in the twelfth house, there is no lack of love. like its ruling sign of pisces, it’s deep, far beyond our consciousness, and draws from infinite pools of unconditional, true love. we embody it by being vulnerable, kind, and finding the lyricism in the everyday.

I’d say for his sake, if you were going to be properly romantically involved with this man you’d have to beat the trauma before it gets to him. To have someone that holds him close and loves him not in spite of what’s happening— but through it. His vision of love has so long since been warped by what he’s told love should be. In his eyes, he is no knight in shining armour worthy of someone to kiss his wounds better. To him, he’s marred and frayed, not even worth the effort of mending. It’d take a lot of love to get Shifter to understand that your dynamic of love isn’t necessarily what society deemed to be romantic, but it’s what you have and that’s all either of he can demand from the goddess— something that’s finally his.

Shifter switches often between hot and cold. He often yearns to be by your side, crumpled with the guilt of leaving you on your lonesome for possibly months on end. And yet when he finally falls through the door of your shared home, likely beaten and battered, all he wants to do is leave once more. He feels partially as if he’s misleading you. That every time he walks through that door you wish for something of him that he simply could not provide, a more simple relationship. He cannot provide you with a quaint home and quiet mornings curled up together. He cannot even provide you a ring for his fear to leave you officially widowed. He is afraid of heartbreak before he can even hand his cracked heart to you. Moreover, he’s scared to hold your heart. He cannot handle fragile things— let alone something as amazing as you.

While he most certainly appreciates the nuances of your relationship, he doesn’t understand why it is you insist time upon time to stay with him. It simply doesn’t make sense to him. You haven’t been seeking out other company to fill his constant absence, though he’s convinced you should, because what kind of lover is he to miss holidays and birthdays and every other important moment. And that fact of true unconditional love and loyalty is breaking to him. It rips him to shreds. It dampens his hardened heart until it’s soft and alive, much unlike the fabled perfection that’s expected of him. Perhaps there’s something poetic about it— a hero foretold throughout the ages and forged through trials that would break any normal mortal man, is bested by love. Not passion or lust or romance. Just love. Sickening as he found it ‘such trivial topics only meant to waste time’, it was more fact than most within his life.

To him, I see two endings. A hand stretched to the open sky in a barren field. One man lay at the centre, eye shut in a peaceful rest. The breeze cools the unfeeling skin, and his blood nurtures the soil beneath him. The blood seeps into his clothes, every patch you made and hole you mended, was it all ever worth it if this is how it ended? The wind whistled its mourning cry into the empty socket of his eye, a wail echoing through his kind that he couldn’t shut out like he did you. Sword embedded into his abdomen, he wonders what you’ll feel when you get the news of what he’s made of himself. He hopes you don’t cry. He hates it when you cry because he should be the one to prevent it, not cause it. He hopes you’ll find someone to help you as you helped him. He hopes you won’t join him. He doesn’t want to ask for your forgiveness— he’s always asked too much of you. So maybe his hopes can keep you safe in his stead.

But we can turn the page away from such an ending. We can make things anew. With enough wrangling and uncomfortable conversations, perhaps he could settle down. Not to say he’d be normal, no. But he could be convinced to relinquish the goddess’s hold on him for the soft embrace of your arms instead. He’d still wake up with memories burning like hot iron behind his eyes, his lungs gasping for air he can’t seem to breathe in, but now he’s home. Now he doesn’t have to sit in solemn silence. Now he has you. Perhaps this vivid future is Hylia paying penance for what she’s done to him -dismantling him at the very seams of his being until he is scrap- but it’s not like he’s complaining in any reality. When the sun sets and his story is over, he’s glad that it was your hand he held throughout each chapter.

Venus Got A Lil' Emotional Today

Why?- Arguably one of the most precious placements, in my opinion, Water Venuses on their good days truly do God's work. They give themselves unconditionally to people they love, all while ensuring they take care of themselves as well. It's nurture and emotional intelligence at its peak in a social, interpersonal interaction setting. You can truly model what the internet calls a "healthy relationship": balanced, equal, loving beyond bounds, and, of course, filled with a generous dose of passionate romance.

Speaking of romance, it is the trademark of this placement. You can romanticize anything you like—your life, struggles, or crush; anything goes. It could help you get through a lot of life's uglier situations, you know? It's kind of like your coping mechanism. But, it's your superpower—your love. Regarding the Sephology 101 course, I would like to ask about a basic analysis into the psychological aspect of Sephiroth. As a Sephiroth admirer since I was kid, I really love to learn more about the mysterious man

Welcome to Sephology 101. The course is now open!

We know from the canon that Sephiroth's psychological aspect has been painted by Shinra ever since he was born. His life was defined by TRAUMA. Before he was born, he was subjected to harrowing experiments, the first of his many traumas. That's already going to heavily influence his psychology and his well being. That is not even mentioning other genetic predispositions he inherited from his parents. Being taken away from his mother as a baby was undoubtedly a traumatic event as well, and its effects can be felt in his life, even though he can't remember it.

Shinra has crafted him into the perfect SOLDIER. Dutiful, obedient, strong, intelligent. I'm sure they only gave him the bare necessities and concentrated heavily on the art of warfare. And like I once said, he must've had an immense pressure to always be the best. He can't let up or appear weak, he kept up appearances. I've read an official fun fact that Sephiroth was a full time frontline fighter before he was TEN YEARS OLD. That is tragic and wild to me on so many levels. I always knew he was a child soldier, but I would've thought he spent most of his formative years preparing for the battlefield and occasionally visiting it.

Being a child soldier itself is just a mountain of trauma. He was taught to do and suffer through horrible things, but deep down, he was seeking validation without even being aware of it. Children's love for their caregivers is almost unconditional, particularly when they are very young. They will do what is taught to them, they will modify their behavior to accommodate the demands of the adults around them and they will have a strong faith in the adults to cherish and protect them... I'd imagine Sephiroth lost this unconditional love for Shinra as he grew up. Especially when he was given autonomy as a reward for his growing fame, like the ability to wear his own clothing, decline missions, discover his own hobbies, etc. These all gave him a sense of empowerment. With this, he will see more of what others had that he didn't. There's also the factor of how Shinra kept putting him into one traumatic situation into another... No matter how normalized abuse is, you will feel horrible about what is happening to you in some way or another, especially if it's by something or someone as your caregiver...

Another psychological aspect to focus on is that Sephiroth did not have a strong social circle. He had very few connections. The four known and strongest ones being Professor Gast, Angeal, Genesis and later Zack in Crisis Core, when the last two before him abandoned Sephiroth. I will say Sephiroth was attracted to these four not just because of the familiarity and comfort they bring to him, but also their nurturement. They encouraged Sephiroth to express and explore himself, and let him know that he wasn't alone. They were his anchors. Being around Sephiroth often was a requirement too, and the more time they spent together, the stronger their connection. This goes for those who Sephiroth despises, too. They stood out amongst the gray and muddied world in his mind to become a person of interest.

What astounded me the most about Sephiroth was his ability to remain composed and devoted despite his traumatic past. He was often distant to most people, but he showed a special kind of affection to his select few loved ones, and occasionally gave this attention to the men under his command. I think there was a deep and innate goodness within him, which was unfortunately destroyed when the truth about his background and who his 'mother' was was revealed.

I think Sephiroth's empathy doesn't get enough discussion. And yes, he is an empath, even Post-Nibelheim. Let me explain: I think his empathy is rooted in his time on the battlefield, where he had to be vigilant and pick up on the slightest changes in his environment and persons around him. Great fighters are great thinkers. Outside of the battlefield, he uses his empathy to pick up on the feelings of those around him and to express his compassion in the best way he knows how. Even before he was friends with Zack, he knew he had a special bond with Angeal, and he felt a pang of guilt whenever he asked Zack to take on his assignments. In Nibelheim, he picked up on the deep yearning of his men, particularly Cloud's, to see their loved ones again and he showed concern for Tifa when she wanted to go inside the reactor.

Post-Nibelheim, his empathy is more twisted. Thanks to his time in the Lifestream and his Jenova cells, he was able to tap into people's emotions to inflict emotional pain. In my opinion, I think the biggest showcase of this is when he read Tifa's mind and created an elaborate story of how Cloud was just a Jenova puppet created by Hojo. That's a rather impressive feat, and he was so close to breaking Cloud then... His silver tongue is as sharp as his sword.

Sephiroth's sadism is sophisticated, yet viciously merciless. He desires to break others down and to project his own traumas and weaknesses into them. I'm fairly certain he does not think himself as evil and rather, righteous in dispensing the pain the world has caused him and his "mother"...

Anyway, there is much more unpack about Sephiroth, but that's what Sephology 101 is for. Feel free to ask questions or send some contributions. The course is open now.

Where the female Symbareangoramon becomes the child’s new babysitter and later mother.

Idea: The kid spends a lot of time with digimon, which she finds both sweet, but worrying. Their parents are never there to take them back, or to watch over them to make sure they are safe. Of course the kid is clearly taken care of, but just not played or interacted with by their parents if she watches them through the windows, the parents are just so busy it seems. Plus, if she sees them, something feels off about them(the parents), but she can’t put her figure on it.  And one day, after seeing a babysitter run off, with no parents checking in after, she decides to take the child into her possession/custody where the child is strangely more happy with.

In a quaint suburban neighborhood, a peculiar friendship blossomed between a child and a SymbareAngoramon. The child possessed a heart full of innocence and curiosity. Their days were spent exploring the wonders of the Digital and real world alongside their faithful companion, SymbareAngoramon.

However, this wasn't always the case before. As behind the closed doors of their home, a disconcerting reality unfolded. The child's parents, though physically present, were emotionally distant, consumed by their busy lives and careers. Their interactions with their only child were limited, leaving the poor child craving the warmth of parental love and attention.

Through her observant eyes, SymbareAngoramon noticed the neglect that tugged at the child's heartstrings. The child's parents rarely interacted with them.

SymbareAngoramon watched as other babysitters came and went, leaving the child despondent each time. One night, after witnessing yet another babysitter hastily leave without a backward glance, SymbareAngoramon's kind heart couldn't bear to see the child's longing for affection go unanswered any longer.

With a quiet determination, SymbareAngoramon decided to take matters into her own hands. She gently approached the child's window balcony, her mellow disposition cloaked in an aura of tranquility. With a subtle touch of her hand against the opened window, SymbareAngoramon stepped inside, finding the child playing alone in their room, their eyes brimming with unshed tears.

Sensing the child's need for companionship and love, SymbareAngoramon approached them, offering a comforting presence. I had to jump in here to just completely agree with a comment you made to your last anon ask, which was that Harry had much more similarities with Sirius than James - YES!!!

I always see Harry as a parallel of Sirius, and I think a large part of this is down to their upbringings, and their relationships with their guardians (I refuse to call the Dursleys Harry’s family). James and Lily were arguably well loved, which was the root of their confidence. James as an only child to elderly parents, and even Lily was more favored by her parents. She experienced discrimination in the Wizarding World, but, in spite of having a troubled relationship with her sister, she was loved. I think Sirius, despite being the Black heir, didn’t experience love in his childhood. After he was sorted to Gryffindor, this is when it deteriorated to outright hate. Tragically, Harry knew nothing but neglect and hate at the Dursley’s so he has none of the confidence or drive his parents has. I see his attitude and aloofness much more similar to Sirius’ than James or Lily’s. I think Sirius was confident too, but in an untouchable, do-not-talk-to-me way. Harry, thanks to the Dursleys and his fame as the Boy Who Lived has a similar bubble around him.

I can go on for hours and hours on this, but I’ll finish off here just saying that it’s such an interesting look into nature vs. nurture. Harry clearly has inherited traits from both his parents, but his experiences have made him most like Sirius.

sirius and harry’s experience parallel each other in interesting ways too. like on the fact of it, they’ve had wildly contrasting lives. i think a feature of sirius’ childhood was conditional love whereas for harry, it was undisputed dislike/hatred/disgust (even if he didn’t know why). they faced different kinds of neglect/abuse and for different reasons, and it definitely shaped them differently too. sirius is confident, like u mentioned, and charming and competent and knows his worth (presumably because of how privilege; always being aware of it, especially as he becomes more conscious of the tensions running within the wixen world) whereas harry grew up fully other’d. he’s a visibly downtrodden kid ykno? ratty clothes; broken glasses; shy, self conscious demeanour (sirius’ first meeting w james vs harry’s w ron comes to mind here)—he’s the exact opposite of ‘knowing your place’ here. i also think their feelings re their family (or relatives, in harry’s case, bc hard agree that’s not a family) would be different. i always imagine sirius to be more conflicted than harry would be tbh.

but despite that, there’s so things that are similar. entering a world that’s not your own but becomes ur family (slightly less monumental for sirius in gryffindor, but similar in spirit, i’d argue); finding ride-or-die friends (some draw james-ron parallels here but i think the latter only works in its potential tbh); getting unconditional love and support, discovering healthy family dynamics, learning to open up, growth & development etc etc

people keep bringing up james and lily as points of comparison for harry, and i think a part of that comes from they thinking they should. but the loyalty? the guardedness? the dysfunctional childhood? always expecting the worst? the do-they-like-me-for-me-or-what-i-am/can-do-for-them dilemma? entirely sirius imo.

this is also why, i think, in a universe where james & lily find harry at the same time sirius does—it would still be sirius harry gravitates towards the most. i’m not underestimating james’ ability to be with a traumatised kid (clearly, he was good at it once) but it’d be different now due to the age difference. i think harry would recognise like, feel safer with sirius.

Ryan was home and left a little under a week ago. The first few days were rough, honestly. My stress of having to share him, my burning need for control over our time, ruined the mood a little at first, for both of us. We went to Colorado, and it was nice. I love and am comfortable with his family. We were together a lot, but he also was off a lot, with Brooks and the guys. The wedding day was beautiful. Full of love and happiness. The most memorable moment was the day after the wedding, after the girls all went to the small mining town while the guys went to the casino, I was hoping Mikayla would drop me off at the airbnb after, but instead she brought me to her apartment to hang out as we waited for the boys. I was sleepy, she set the TV up for me to lay there while her and Makaia brought the other girl home. I was dozing off, watching adventure time when they returned. We stayed up talking for over an hour, gossiping, sharing relationship drama and stories, and bonding. It was a moment that made me feel whole, that female bond. There is nothing better, than feeling safe in a woman's presence. It’s warm, gentle, nurturing. In contrast to the firey, passionate, intense feeling of safety in a mans arms. Its the beautiful and gentle balance of energy, manifested in human kind. Both are necessary, powerful. I cherish both. But I feel the most safe in that female space. Seen. Understood. When we went home, I had a small meltdown. I cried. I’ve been getting in my head badly. not understanding whats real or what im making up, what im justified for feeling and whats fantasy. I felt better by the end of the day. He came over and each day after was special and more fulfilling. On Tuesday, we got breakfast at Josephs, then went home to watch some love island and hang out. We went and got Nelsons, then went to his house to swim. Swimming with him gave me butterflies, it made me feel giddy. I have such a big crush on this boy. I felt a whole lot of nostalgia... back in stillwater, no worries, just spending time together, getting icecream, swimming. i felt back in high school again, But this time he didnt break my heart. I can’t believe this boy is now mine, for good. He went fishing with his dad, then i picked him back up, we made really good sliders and watched the mario movie which i loved. We had many amazing moments together. On our last day, we saw the flash movie. It was an emotional movie, at the end i held his hand and thought about how fully I love him, With my whole body. I'm not gonna lie and say it was all peaches and cream, sweeter than sweet when you two started dating. Well, to be fair, it probably was when you started dating Tim, but, well, once you learned about who Masky was, that kinda went straight out the window. An emotional rollercoaster is probably the best way to put something like that as a label for your relationship with these two.

With Tim, life is domestic. It comes naturally, as naturally as breathing. No cruelness, just unconditional and reciprocated love, where you never have a worry in your mind about where the relationship is going or if the two of you are on the same page or not. With Masky, life is the opposite. There's no love, no reciprocation. Just roughness, cruelty, and pain. He barely remembers to ask for consent for anything have the time, just grabbing onto you and taking what he wants, and when he does remember to ask, he's rough and angry and impatient about it, with cruel words sinking into your bones.

Finding a balance between the two of them is a struggle, as they're polar opposites. Over time, things become easier. Masky isn't as stubborn when it comes to asking for permission for things, although he still never grows to care for you. Tim continues to be the nurturing one, always checking in on you and being the one to dry your tears and keep you happy. The only good thing you get from Masky is protection; mostly because he doesn't like when other people touch his 'possessions'. Dating Tim and Masky isn't easy, it isn't smooth, and it has its ups and downs. There are still some good days, when Tim is fully relaxed, and when Masky comes out and decides to spare you from his cruel tongue, tolerating your presence. But it will never be like that 100% of the time so long as Masky exists.
