JJK: The Body-Snatcher's Daughter [PLATONIC YANDERE] [FEMALE READER] [PART 1]
Tumblr media
Summary: [Name] [Surname] had always been aware of her power, but she never acted upon it or embraced it. She lived her life as a typical teenage girl, going to school, hanging out with friends, and even looking for a part-time job to earn extra money. However, for the past few weeks, she had been feeling as though someone was watching her, and she had caught sight of a familiar face in the crowd. What will happen when she encounters that face during a lunch outing on a Saturday afternoon?
Broken: I don't know everything about Jujutsu Kaisen, so please bear with me.
[Tokyo - Kawasaki City: The [Surname] Estate]
"Here is your allowance." [Name's] Father called out to his daughter before she headed out the door, holding some bills out to her. She looked at the bills before looking into her father's eyes.
"Dad, I have a part-time job and I already got paid yesterday. I don't need an allowance anymore." [Name] explained to her father as she adjusted her satchel around her shoulder.
"I know you have a part-time job, but, I think it would be best if you had a little bit of extra spending money for your outings. After all, you never know if you might see something you want or run into your friends & you decide to treat them to lunch or shopping." Her father smiled at her, causing [Name] to exhale before taking the money, pulling her wallet out of her satchel, placing the additional money inside, and returning it to her satchel before looking at her father's face; he knew what he was doing when he smiled like that, he knew that she couldn't resist his requests when he smiled like that.
"You can be very manipulative when you want to be, Dad." [Name] exhaled, causing her father to chuckle at his daughter's words.
"Only for the best reasons, My Black Pearl." [Name's] Father smiled before his face turned serious before peering into his daughter's black eyes from behind his glasses, "Can you feel anything nearby?"
"No, sir. I'm not picking up on any strange auras today. There are some weaker ones in the city, but none of them are hostile at the moment. I think it will be safe for me to head out." [Name] explained with a serious glare.
"Are you currently repressing your aura?" Her Father asked her, causing his daughter to nod.
"Yes. I've been keeping it repressed for about 3 Days; my aura is constantly getting stronger but I have been able to hide the signature it radiates. No one is going to attack me... Again." [Name] said while looking at the ground before exhaling and turning back to face her father, "Did you hear from Mom, yet?"
"Your Mother is going to be returning in a week; you know how serious she is with her work, but she did swear that she was going to be back in time for your birthday." Her Father smiled.
"She really works too hard... I wish she would take a break sometimes." [Name] exhaled but her father waved her off with a smile on his face, dismissing her concern.
"I've been trying to convince her since we got married...so that's not gonna happen anytime soon." Her Father smiled.
"True..." [Name] turned on her heel and walked towards the door, "See you later, Dad. I have my phone and power bank on me. Call me if you need anything.".
"Have fun, Dear." He called out as she opened the door, stepped outside, and closed it behind her before going to complete his own work.
As [Name] knew that her father had returned to his office to finish his work, she pulled out the key from her pocket and locked the door. Her family lived in the forest, about 5 miles away from the city. The wall surrounding her family's estate and the tall trees of the forest that surrounded her childhood home, greeted her as she turned around. To reach the city, [Name] had to take the bus. Fortunately, there was a bus stop right outside the path that led to the main road.
[Name] placed her hands in her pockets before walking out of the estate, through the forest via the stone path, and to the bus stop before sitting down on the stone bench as before pulled her phone out of her pocket, and scrolled through it mindlessly as she waited for the bus to arrive.
That's when a familiar ping went through her mind, causing her to look up from her phone and start looking around her; she could feel that someone was watching her, but all she could see was the forest, bushes, and road. A frown came to her face as her keen ears picked up on the sound of the bus coming. She looked around one more time before reaching into her jacket pocket to retrieve her bus card just as the massive form of transportation stopped in front of her, and opened its doors to allow her on. She entered the bus, paid for her trip, and sat in the first free seat she could find; unable to shake the feeling that someone was watching her.
Tumblr media
[Location Change: Kawasaki City]
The sound of multiple shoes hitting the concrete sidewalks combined with the rolling tires on the main road filled [Name's] ears as she walked down the sidewalk with her black eyes forward and her hands secured in the pockets of her jacket; it was a rather chilly afternoon, regardless of the high-noon sun.
Thanks to her mindless scrolling, she learned that the nearby Tech Shop was making a bundle deal with some of their more desired parts with a 50% discount with the purchase of 30,845 Yen ($200 - If my math is correct) or more; she has been meaning to update her drawing tablet and computer for a while now, no time like the present.
[Name] headed to the Tech Shop and flagged down an employee to aid her; she was looking for new equipment and the bundle mentioned. She ended up spending over 77,113 Yen ($500 - Once again, if my math is correct) as she picked her new tablet in her satchel; making sure to purchase a 3-Year Protection Plan on all her parts. She walked out of the shop and pulled out her wallet, she noticed she had 3084.53 Yen ($20) to spend on lunch and decided to get something quick. She noticed her favorite burger place was across the street and used the crosswalk to cross the street, but that feeling had returned: Someone was watching her. She pretended not to notice and started scanning the crowd for anyone who seemed out of place to her when her eyes landed on something...familiar.
A man was standing on the other side of the street, dressed in a black suit with a high collar. His hair was long and black with a high bun in the back; the only thing that seemed out of place to him was the scar going across his forehead, it reminded her of stitching for some reason.
What's more: This man was looking at her and she confirmed this when the smirk on his face grew the moment their eyes met; he wanted her to know that he was watching her. She narrowed her eyes at him before turning her gaze to look ahead as she made it to the other end of the street and turn away from him to head into the burger place.
[Name] placed her order and paid the cashier for a simple large cheeseburger meal with a [Favorite Drink] with 3 cookies on the side. The cashier gave her a receipt and she stood off to the side until her number was called. She took her food and walked to a nearby booth with 2 seats that were out of the way since everywhere else was taken; it was lunch hour after all. She unwrapped her burger and was about to take about bite when a voice called out to her from directly in front of her.
"That looks delicious."
[Name's] Black Eyes looked away from her burger and locked eyes with him - the man who was watching her earlier and it was that same feeling; she had been feeling it for a week.
"Can I help you with something?" [Name] asked in a calm but clearly annoyed voice.
"Yes. You can stop suppressing your power from me; it's getting rather hard to find you since you are getting so good at concealing your Cursed Energy from me." The man said, his head resting on the fist he had against his cheek while that arm's elbow was resting on the table.
"Cursed Energy? What the hell are you talking about?" [Name] asked with a raised eyebrow but the man chuckled at her words.
"I'm sure you don't know what it's called, but I know that you are aware of your power; you have so much of it and you've become adapted to concealing it to prevent people like me from finding you. However, I know you can feel it; you know who I am... Don't you, [Name]?" He asked with a smile on his face and a 'tender' look in his eyes.
"You're the one who has been following me for weeks." [Name] answered and, once again, he smiled at her with a chuckle.
"Able to detect my Cursed Energy from everyone else's already? You're more advanced than I thought you would be at this age. Then again... I shouldn't expect anything less from my own daughter." He said, making [Name's] eyes get wide.
"What did you say?" [Name] hissed out.
"You heard me. How else would I know your name and this is the first time we talked?" He questioned with a head tilt before stating, "I'm the one who named you."
"Just... Just who the hell are you?" [Name] questioned, trying to keep her calm and not draw attention to herself.
"I am the JuJitsu Sorcerer, Kenjaku. In your case, I am your 3rd Parent. You can call me 'Father' if you want." He smiled at her, expecting her to freak out and ask him questions.
She was silent for a moment before she spoke, "Are you on drugs or something?"
"Pardon?" Kenjaku asked with wide eyes, surprised at what she just said," I don't think that's how you should speak to your own father, [Name]." Kenjaku said.
"Yeah. You're on drugs." With that, [Name] rewrapped her burger and walked over to the counter, got a takeout bag, and placed her food inside before taking her drink and leaving the burger place; leaving a very shocked JuJitsu Sorcerer sitting at the table.
"Kids these days... No respect for their elders." Kenjaku said before standing up and leaving as well, but he couldn't find [Name] anywhere, "She's fast."

Sarah Cameron
don't you get it? they're not you.
do you think you could ever see us as more than friends?
Pronouns: They/Them/Theirs
Tumblr media
"Thanks again for tutoring Wheezie, (Y/N). Her grades have definitely improved."
"It's no problem, Mr. Cameron."
Truly, it wasn't. While the youngest Cameron could be stubborn and occasionally immature, Wheezie was probably one of the brightest kids you got to tutor. She simply refused to believe in herself and her abilities but with a little coaxing and praise, she'd proven to be pretty good at the harder subjects like math and science. You were sure she wouldn't need you anymore in a couple weeks.
"If only you rubbed off on Sarah," Ward sighed as he finished digging around in his wallet for some cash. You almost smiled despite the annoyance you'd grown to harbor for the blonde over the last few days. If only Sarah took your warnings and advice to heart instead of running off with the posse from the Cut. She'd ghosted Denny, a good friend of yours, just to hang out with them doing God knows what. The Pogues were sweet people, especially Pope Heyward, but their track record was piss poor and would only damage Sarah in the long run. "She could use some help in English. I got a phone call from her teacher the other day about it."
"I'll talk to her, Mr. Cameron." You assured, taking the wad of cash from the man and smiling. "I'm sure it's nothing."
With a thankful nod, Ward bid you goodbye and headed inside the mansion. You sighed softly and stuffed the cash into your wallet before slipping it into your back pocket and heading down the driveway. The walk home would be a short one given how close you lived to the Camerons, one of the main reasons you'd been able to stick beside Sarah and not get dumped aside like trash. It was infuriating how she tossed aside people so easily and yet decided to extend her loyalty to people acquainted with the Kildare County jail cells.
The familiar rumble of an engine caught your attention and you stopped right at the edge of the driveway to watch the familiar minivan head down the road. It came to a screeching halt right before you and Kiara stuck her head out with a wide smile. Great. Just the people you wanted to see. The side door rolled open and Sarah hopped out with a giddy laugh, sliding the door closed again and bidding her newfound friends a cheerful goodbye before she spun around and sprang into your arms. The van made a U-turn at the end of the road and sped off down the street.
"Hey!" Sarah giggled, arms still wrapped around your shoulders. "I didn't know you were coming over!"
"I tutor Wheezie every Friday, Sarah. You'd know that if you paid more attention." You muttered and pushed your hand against her abdomen, forcing the girl to take a step back. Sarah's brows furrowed and her arms slumped to her side, her dark brown eyes flickering all over your face. Any other day, any other month, you might've felt bad for getting snappy with the blonde. But your patience had begun to wear thin with her after her constant ghosting and ditching.
"What's wrong? Why are you mad?"
"I'm not-" You inhaled deeply and rubbed the area between your eyebrows. "You said you were going to give Denny a chance 'cause you were tired of being single. He showed up to the date, but you didn't. If you don't want something serious then tell me that before I set you up with someone. You've done this four times already, Sarah. I'm the one who has to pick up after you while you run around with your street friends. If you don't like my friends, say that. I've wasted enough of their time."
Sarah frowned and looked away like a child being scolded by their parent. She twisted her lips and spoke quietly, "Don't you get it? They're not you. I don't want to date them. I.."
You felt your heart drop at her words. Sarah Cameron, known to all as a heartbreaker who had no issue cheating on her boyfriends, liked you? You stared at her silently, trying to process her words and think of something, anything, to say in response but your mind went blank. You'd known her since you wore diapers! You'd been raised alongside her like siblings and even wore matching clothes during the holidays as kids. The only word you could truly muster up and say was, "Oh."
"Do you think you could ever see us as more than friends?" Sarah asked softly and lifted her head to gaze at your face. You tried not to wince. You loved her, truly you did, but not in the way she wanted. A long time ago, back in middle school, you might've leaped at the chance. But that'd been before you really took note of her more selfish side. Sarah was loyal but not when it came to romance and she never had the guts to admit it.
"No, Sarah, I don't. You... You're my friend. I stopped looking at you like that when I saw how you treated your past boyfriends. You're great and I'll always love you but you're just not the kind of girl I'd want to be with. I'm sorry."

Last Twilight Episode 12;
Like most people, I did not like the ending of Last Twilight. It took me a while to gather my thoughts and find time to write on the episode, but in the meantime, I've been reading what others have had to say about the show, and I have a few thoughts.
As @waitmyturtles talked about here, discussing whether or not Day should have gotten his vision back presents an ethical dilemma. I've seen a few posts of people who dislike the fandom's outrage against Day getting his vision back, talking about how his getting his vision back does not undo all that he learned and did while he was disabled. Setting aside the fact that Day did not grow through the series, (which @chalkrevelations wrote about here) a big problem for me is feeling like the narrative did a complete 180 post-episode 10. A massive portion of the show was spent with Day learning to accept his blindness and learning to work with it, and although we knew that the surgery was on the table from episode one, it ended up feeling like it came out of nowhere in the final episode. One of the main reasons for this, I think, is because the show barely brought up the surgery in the first 3/4ths of the show (I can think of like 2 instances where it was mentioned) and then it's dropped onto us by Mhon and Night crashing Day and Mhok's date, after which everything became about the surgery. Up till the third quarter of the show, I had enjoyed that the story had such a tight storyline, with such clear intentions. But then the show veered into a very different direction post episode 10, which made the show feel completely different to what it was.
As @waitmyturtles says in her post, it could have been so much better if Day was able to actively choose the surgery, and that we, as an audience, got to see him actually consider the various paths that lay before him. For the surgery to have made sense, narratively speaking, the story would have to be slightly different. You don't just spend 10 episodes of a show working towards a theme and then end the show with the exact opposite of the theme. The final two episodes felt like they were of a completely different show (now, doesn't that sound familiar).
While we're talking about feeling betrayed by the narrative, I want to talk about Mee, and Last Twilight the book. They managed to fuck up Mee's story, and I am aghast. The significance of Mee's story, especially the ending, was completely thrown out by the episode, in particular the montage, which had me fuming. What happened to Day understanding what the author meant to convey by Mee's ending while Mhok didn't, because he felt a sense of kinship with the author's daughter, who Mee was based upon? Mee's story had reliably predicted Day's almost to the end, so what happened? They tried to subvert the ending of the novel, with Day 'reflecting' on Mee's story in the background of the montage. But all that it did was completely go against everything that the show and the novel had stood for.
Tumblr media
Life amidst that dilemma caused me to forget what it was like to live a normal life, or how happy I could be.
Sincerely, what the fuck? A huge part of Last Twilight was Day finding, creating a new normal with Mhok. Day learning that his blindness didn't make him abnormal. But this completely erases that. It's saying that living as a blind person, Day wasn't living a normal life, nor was he truly happy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Mhok finished reading the story to Day, Day understood. He understood why the author chose to end the story that way, because he understood that being blind for the rest of his life wasn't a curse. He understood Mee, understood her joy, understood that she hadn't disappeared, understood that the ending of the book wasn't tragic.
What Day says here, is that he was heartbroken about Mee's fate because he related to her and felt like they shared the same fate, but he realizes that his story doesn't need to be the same as Mee's.
Isn't Day feeling pity for Mee here? Isn't he doing exactly what he broke up with Mhok for, viewing Mee as some tragic figure, when 6 years ago he had understood that Mee was not someone he needed to feel sorry for? I've posted about how important it was that Mee's story's ending was written with Mee rejoicing, rather than being written as a tragedy. It was so important that Day understood the author's intentions, rather than viewing it as a tragic story. So then, what changed? I don't know, this may be a bit of a stretch, but these lines just seem so wrong, and hypocritical coming from Day.
Tumblr media
The intended purpose of this message seems to have been hope for a new, better life. But, if Day's blindness was the worst chapter of his life, what was the point of him learning to accept his blindness, to live with it, and what was the point of showing it to us?
Before the final episode aired, I had said that I hoped that we'd get a nod to Mee's story in the end, to add onto the impact and relevance of Mee's story in Day's. What we got instead, was a preachy reflection that went against everything that the first 10 episodes of the show had stood for, accompanied by a useless montage that completely upended the significance of the stories of both the show and the novel.
In the few minutes this montage lasted, it managed to successfully tear down everything that the first 10 episodes had shown us, everything that Mee's story had told us. Borrowing this one from @lurkingshan's tags in this post, how can a creator misunderstand their own narrative so badly?
I hesitate to use the term ableist to describe the last episode. But what I'm getting from this montage is that Day believes that he was neither normal nor happy while he was blind, and believes that it was the worst chapter of his life. Mee's story, one that is based on a little girl who was going blind, is shown as tragic, in contrast to Day's 'happy and normal' life. And that message seems pretty ableist to me. Which also makes me wonder, how much did Day really 'learn' from his time as a blind person? Because from what I'm getting from this montage, it wasn't a whole lot.

"I will be gone for a while, I have some... 'important business' that I need to take care of. I will be back soon."
'Will be back soon,' he said. Hah, how laughable. You scoffed at your husband's words as you recalled it in your head.
You sometimes questioned your marriage to the Akademiya's Scribe. What did he see in you? What was the reason that made you accept his proposal? Why do you feel clueless about everything? As you recall, you happened to be in the same Haravatat class with him, you started to get close and... all of a sudden, you were married to him. It feels like you have forgotten something, but you couldn't seem to remember.
You yelped when you suddenly felt a strong kick from the baby. "Ow! H-hey little one... You don't like it when mommy's upset, do you? I'm sorry, sweetie. Would walking around help with that?"
When you got up from the couch, you're slowly regretting your decision. Gosh, your back ached and your belly felt so heavy. Nonetheless, you walked around the house for a while, stopping at your front porch.
"Okay, that's enough walking for today. My feet are hurting..." You said to yourself as you sat on one of the outdoor chairs.
The cool breeze lightly grazed your skin, its gentle touch slowly lulling you to sleep.
(Flashback)
Entering the House of Daena, Alhaitham was greeted with a wall of books on his right and left. Walking across the bridge to the main room, he saw how crowded the place was. Alhaitham was slowly regretting his decision, but he desperately needs additional materials for his research. Setting his personal preferences aside, he scoured through bookshelf after bookshelf for materials.
After finding books that might help him in his research, he looked around for a place to sit. As he had seen before, the library was quite crowded, so finding a place to sit wasn't easy. Until he spotted a fellow student from his Darshan sitting by herself.
"Mind if I sit here so that I can finish my research?" he asked the lone student.
"No, not at all. I understand how difficult it is to find a place at a time when the library is busy like this, so I don't mind. As long as you don't bother me."
Alhaitham sat down and was about to start reading his books when he was suddenly intrigued by your work. Several ancient scrolls was laid in front of you written in an unfamiliar script, you looked back and forth at the scroll, to a book, then writing something down on another book.
"I know you said to not bother you, but can I ask you about your work? I've never seen such a script like this before," Alhaitham spoke up.
You looked up, slightly taken aback by his words. "Hm? Oh, sure. I actually haven't seen them before either."
"Oh? Is that so? Then how were you able to acquire such ancient documents? I don't see you ever getting a permit to leave the Akademiya for you to get these scrolls. I see that you also have the appropriate dictionary for it as well."
"Are you suspecting that I've done something illegal in order to get these? Well I'm sorry for bursting your bubble, but these are gifts from my father. He said it's time for me to learn this."
Alhaitham didn't expect that. "Was your father a scholar of the Akademiya?" he asked.
"No, I didn't think so. Or at least, not that I know of."
There was a really awkward silence after you stated your answer. Alhaitham thought of more ways to get more information on you. He was already interested in you.
"Where are you from?"
"I'm from Liyue. Why asking? Does it matter to you to know where I'm from?"
"Yes, it does. These scripts are nowhere near similar to the writing system used in Liyue. And your name is Y/n, right?"
"...Correct."
"That doesn't sound like a Liyuean name either..." he murmured.
"Actually, I didn't expect that an apathetic person like you would know the names of the people around him. You're something else, Alhaitham."
"...The feeling is mutual."
❝Zaleos, the God of Peace ruled over a chain of floating island northwest of Inazuma's Jinren Island called Isles of Etsumi. Once an acquaintance to the Guili Assembly, she fought alongside them during the Archon War despite her pacifist nature. Towards the end of the war, a new threat emerged near the Isles of Etsumi causing Zaleos to return to her homeland. And that was the last thing they heard from her. After finishing with their respective missions, the Traveler, Paimon and Dehya agreed to meet up with the group at the Grand Bazaar. Alhaitham and Cyno were already there.
They discussed the smooth running of their respective missions and had a bit of a fight, dragging Nilou into their plans in the process.
"I... I can't believe my ears! You are truly the bravest and most passionate people of Sumeru, well, that... I've ever met!" she beamed.
"Ahem!" Paimon cleared her throat.
"Oh right, the Traveler and Paimon are not from Sumeru, but you are awesome as well!" Nilou corrected herself.
"Hehe, that's right!"
"I... I must admit that I'm a little scared. But I'll try my best for Lesser Lord Kusanali. If I can somehow use my abilities to help you, then count me in."
"Remember, believe in yourself," Cyno said.
"...Okay! I'll get my friends at the Grand Bazaar to help us tomorrow!"
"Just remember not to say too much. Be discreet," Dehya advised.
"Yep, you got it!"
"All the preparations are done. Now, can we finally conclude this meeting?" Alhaitham spoke up.
"Yeah. Tomorrow, we are going to save a god," said the Traveler.
"So, have you thought up what you'd like to say, boss?" Dehya asked.
"It's hard to believe everything that has happened till now... And our actions will bring change to many things tomorrow."
"Yep yep! It's a grand plan, and we're all super awesome!" Paimon said excitedly.
"That's right, so... Just get a good night's sleep, everyone!"
"Hahaha!" Dehya laughed.
"Well said. A good night's rest before an operation can be the difference between success and failure," Cyno commented.
"...Thankfully, I've had my place to myself recently. It's been nice and quiet."
"Huh?"
"Oh, huh, nothing."
"Alright, let's all go home and get a good night's sleep, so we can be up early tomorrow!" Paimon said.
"Okay, so I guess that means it's time to say goodnight now."
"Yep! Goodnight, everyone."
The group went their separate ways, and Alhaitham walked back to his residence. Strolling around Sumeru City at night is indeed the best. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, accompanied by sounds of nature. Shops and stalls have closed, their owners and merchants have gone home to rest. The children of Sumeru are no longer running around playing with their friends, they are safe in their respective homes drifting off to dreamland. Only members of the Corps of Thirty patrolled around the city.
Arriving in front of the house, Alhaitham saw that the light was still on from the inside. Are you still awake waiting for his return? He took out the house keys and unlocked the front door, locking it back when he entered. You didn't fall asleep in the living room, so he went to look for you in the kitchen.
You weren't there either, there was just some food you left for him when he came home. Alhaitham appreciate the thought, but he didn't want you overworking yourself. So he went to the last place you might be in, which is your shared bedroom.
"Just as I expected, you've fallen asleep," Alhaitham whispered to himself.
He then noticed a pile of folded clothes in the corner of the room. Alhaitham sighed before approaching the bed to pull your blanket over your shoulders.
"Didn't I tell you not to overwork yourself? Stubborn..."
He suddenly became alert when you stirred in your sleep, hugging the pillow you used for support closer to you. Alhaitham was holding his breath, trying so hard not to wake you up. When he was away from the bed, Alhaitham sighed as he stuffed the folded clothes into the closet.
Taking some clothes of his own, Alhaitham took them to the bathroom to freshen up.
(time skip brought to you by le author :P)
Exiting the bathroom feeling clean and refreshed, Alhaitham had changed into a dark green silk robe. He saw that you were sleeping on the right side of the bed but you were sleeping on your left side. So he occupied the left side of the bed.
He watched as your shoulder rise and fall as a manifestation of the air you inhaled and exhaled. For some reason, Alhaitham couldn't fall asleep. He couldn't stop thinking about the big day tomorrow, even though he was already confident that his plan would work. Was he just... nervous?
Without him knowing, Alhaitham's hand mindlessly snaked towards your pregnant belly, hugging you from behind. You stirred in your sleep feeling the lingering touch on your stomach, causing Alhaitham to froze on the spot. After a while, you started to feel comfortable in his arms.
"Huh, you rascal. Quit scaring your husband like that..." he whispered.
Alhaitham playfully kissed the crown of your head and dozed off to sleep.
Tumblr media
The next morning, you woke up as usual. It's just, you wondered about something. Did Alhaitham come home last night? But why is there no sign of his return? You swear you felt someone hug you from behind while you were sleeping, you even felt a kiss placed on the crown of your head.
As you continued to scratch the top of your head, you felt the sudden urge to go to the bathroom.
"P-patient, little one... Please give time for mommy to get to the bathroom first... Ugh..."
After somehow managing to avoid a disaster, you headed to the kitchen to look for signs of his return. Just now when you came out of the bathroom, you realized that the pile of clothes you folded the night before had been put in the closet. Did Alhaitham seriously put them away for you? Or did you put them away last night? But you remembered that you will do it in the morning. Hmm...
When you arrived in the kitchen, you immediately found the evidence you needed. The food you left for him is gone.
"So, you really do care about me. Heh, so much for trying to be sneaky..."
(That afternoon)
"What...?! Alhaitham... is exiled to Aaru Village?"
The General Mahamatra went to visit you that afternoon, telling you what they had done on Jnagarbha Day. You immediately stood up reflexively from shock but regretted it soon after.
"Ah, careful...! We don't want you hurting yourself now..." Cyno said as he sat you back down.
"Thanks, Cyno... But still, he willingly used the Divine Knowledge Capsule during his confrontation with Azar, and got himself exiled... I'm relieved that his radical plan worked but, I don't know how I should feel about this..."
"That's understandable. But knowing Alhaitham, he won't let them arrest him so easily. He probably fought them off and escaped."
"Right..."
You went silent, thinking deeply about your husband's plan. Even after marrying him for so many years, you couldn't understand how his brain works.
You were lost in your thoughts until Cyno said his farewells to you. "I have to go now, Y/n. There's still some things that I need to take care of."
"O-oh, I understand. Thanks for dropping by, Cyno."
The General Mahamatra simply nodded and took his leave. You watched him leave until he's out of your sight, letting out a deep sigh and closed your eyes.
Tumblr media
A few days have passed since the rescue of Lesser Lord Kusanali and your husband Alhaitham was still nowhere to be seen. You didn't even know whether he's home or not, even if he was, he'll get up early to go take care of something at the Akademiya.
After Azar and his accomplices were overthrown, the Akademiya scrambled to nominate and select new sages. Since the sages from Vahumana and Amurta were the only ones remaining, they need to select new sages for the Rtawahist Darshan, Spantamad Darshan, Haravatat Darshan, and the Kshahrewar Darshan.
While you were cooking breakfast in the kitchen, a knock was heard on the front door.
"My dear Y/n! Oh, you have no idea how much I miss you."
"Kaveh, you're back."
The Palace of Alcazarzaray's architect pulled you into a hug, minding your stomach. He then pulled out a bouquet of Sumeru Roses that he was hiding behind his back.
"You know me, as someone who values aesthetics in everything, unlike that husband of yours... I bought you these flowers because they remind me of you. I know they don't match your level of beauty my dear, but I still hope you like them."
"Oh, Kaveh... You shouldn't have... Thank you. But please, think about your own finances."
"No no, I don't mind if they're spent on a beautiful woman like you," Kaveh said as he winked at you.
You sighed in contentment as you brushed Kaveh off, letting him into the house. He took off his cape and sets it down.
"Have you had breakfast? I just made some," you said as you put the Sumeru Roses in a glass vase.
"That sounds lovely, my dear. But I'm afraid I can't have some right now because... working on a project in the middle of the desert has made me feel disgusted. I'm in desperate need of a bath! You go on ahead darling, I'll soon be joining you."
Kaveh went to use the guest bathroom, leaving you alone in the kitchen. You grabbed two plates, one for yourself and one for him.
As you were just about to scoop up some Aaru Mixed Rice that you cooked earlier, you felt something trickling down your legs.
"Hm? What was tha... Oh no... No, no no no no no. Not at a time like this."
You kept denying the fact that you have gone into labor. But soon, you have to accept the reality as you felt a strong contraction hit you.
"Argh! Oh, this is bad... Kaveh?!" You called out to Kaveh in a panic but considering that he was in the bathroom, he wouldn't hear you. So you were forced to suffer alone until Kaveh came to save you.

After the Traveler and Paimon talked to Nilou at the Grand Bazaar, they headed to the Akademiya to confirm Alhaitham has received Nilou's invitation. By asking an Amurta student by the name of Geoff, they found out that he was in the House of Daena.
Entering the colossal library that stands at the center of the Sumeru Akademiya, the Traveler and Paimon approached the Scribe but stopped when they saw him talking to another person.
"Oh, he's over there! But it looks like he might not have time for us..." Paimon said.
"He's already talking with someone else."
They watched him bicker with a blond man who now they know as Kaveh.
"Forget what's going on with the Akademiya, haven't you been busy with your construction project? Tell me, when are you going to build yourself a mansion?" Alhaitham asked.
"Don't get me started... I get angry just thinking about it," Kaveh grumbled.
"So, what great building did our master architect work on this time?" Alhaitham said sarcastically.
"Like I need to tell you! Keep your nose out of my business," Kaveh retorted.
"No, I think we deserve to know. Where were you when Sumeru needed you most?"
"I was in the desert for a large project, but considering Haravatat's utter ignorance of architectural and aesthetic matters, you probably wouldn't understand. Which is truly unfortunate! I can only pity the man who doesn't understand the first thing about beauty and romance. Unlike a true..."
Kaveh was just about to continue talking when suddenly he had fully processed Alhaitham's words. "Hold on, wait a second, what do you mean by 'when Sumeru needed me most'?" he asked.
"Well, while you were out fiddling around in the desert, many people came together to save Sumeru from a crisis. All you really need to know is that Azar and all his accomplices have all been overthrown."
"Hah, and you think I'd believe that? What nonsense are you talking about?"
"It's no skin off my nose if you don't believe me. It's not like my Darshan was the one trying to apply for funding from the Grand Sage. Yours, though, on the other hand..."
Kaveh seems to be fed up with his underclassman's hypocrisy. To the extent that he said, "You know what? Then I shall ask you this. Where were you when your wife needed you the most?"
"What are you on about, Kaveh?" Alhaitham asked, slightly taken aback.
"Just this morning, I carried your wife to the Bimarstan because she has gone into labor. I thought you as her husband would be there right beside her, supporting her every step of the way. But no, you're here reading that stupid book of yours in the House of Daena! Good Celestia, I don't even know what she saw in you to the point of agreeing to marry you!"
Although his face doesn't show much, Alhaitham was surprised to see the way Kaveh lashed out at him. Yes, he often bickered with his senior, but not to this extent. It has to do with the person he married, the person he loves. But if he treated you like what Kaveh said, does he really love you?
"I'll ask around! I'm sure someone knows what's going on here. You're dead if I find out you're lying to me."
Kaveh stormed off, leaving Alhaitham alone with his thoughts. The Traveler and Paimon are confused about how to respond to Alhaitham's fight with Kaveh earlier. They decided to approach him anyway.
"Hey, Alhaitham!" Paimon greeted.
"Oh, it's you two. What's the matter?"
The expression on the Traveler's and Paimon's faces were both pitiful, the way Alhaitham quickly put up his emotional walls the moment he talked to them. They talked about many things, from their purpose of coming here in the first place to the appointment of Alhaitham as the Grand Sage. The Traveler and Paimon were curious about the person Kaveh had called his 'wife', but they were reluctant to ask about her.
"By the way, who was that other person just now? Is he your friend?" Paimon asked.
"Do we look like friends?"
"Paimon doesn't know! That's why Paimon's asking!"
"His name is Kaveh, my roommate. You could say he's the representative for Kshahrewar scholars," Alhaitham explained.
"He didn't seem to believe a word you told him," the Traveler commented.
"Which is exactly why he always has so many problems."
"Also Alhaitham, Paimon remembers that Kaveh said something about your wife. Paimon didn't know that an annoying person like you has a wife. Why you never mentioned anything about her? Where is she, and why have we never met her?"
Paimon really went for it, she really asked him about you. Even so, Alhaitham remained silent. Uh-oh, has Paimon offended him?
"..."
"...I never talk about my wife because I don't want her to get involved in my work. You yourself already know how dangerous the things we deal with, so I'm also thinking about her safety," Alhaitham spoke up.
"Wow, Paimon also didn't know that someone like you can be so considerate..." Paimon commented.
"Thanks for your hard work these days," the Traveler expressed their gratitude.
"Such is the work of the Akademiya Scribe."
"Well anyway, no matter how busy you are, since you were our planner, remember to attend the celebration feast in two days!" Paimon reminded.
"All right, I'll see you there."
As the Traveler and Paimon leaves the Akademiya, they saw Kaveh frantically rushing into the building. They didn't think much about it and continued their journey to Port Ormos.
(Back inside the House of Daena)
"Al—Alhaitham!"
Alhaitham was now by the one of the bookshelves, he turned around the moment his senior called his name.
"How can I help you, senior Kaveh?" Alhaitham asked.
"Look, this is no time for your jokes and sarcasm. This is very serious!"
"Oh? And what serious thing do you mean by that?"
"Y/n is missing."
Tumblr media
"What do you mean “yOu DoN't KnOw”? You were clearly here when you registered her and after."
Alhaitham and Kaveh were at the Bimarstan talking to the only intern there, Tamara. Despite multiple attempts to ask her, Tamara still claimed to "not know" about your whereabouts.
"As I said before, Mr. Kaveh, my job is only to record patients' medical records. Since Doctor Zakariya isn't here, I couldn't do much other than following my senior's orders," she proclaimed.
"Ugh, you...! F–Fine, then enlighten me. Who's this senior of yours who ordered you to do such a thing?" Kaveh asked.
"I believe her name is Najwa."
"Najwa?"
They turned around at the sound of another voice. It turned out that another intern doctor named Golshan had just returned from whatever she was doing.
"Didn't she leave Sumeru a long time ago? I heard that she disappeared for a while. What is she doing back in Sumeru?"
"Who exactly is this Najwa?" Alhaitham asked.
"Ms. Najwa was our senior in the Amurta Darshan, she was also a doctor here in Bimarstan. But all of a sudden, she decided to leave Sumeru and we haven't heard from her since then," Golshan explained.
"And what were her orders?" Kaveh took turns asking.
"She ordered me to give medicine to the patient to reduce the pain because the patient was about to be transferred. Doctor Zakariya is out and she said it would be easier if the patient was brought there," Tamara explained.
"That doesn't make any sense at all! Transferring a patient who is in labor is a very big risk! Don't you understand?"
Kaveh went into a fit of rage, he tried to reason with the irresponsible intern doctor. Alhaitham on the other hand, had already planned his next move.
"Nidal!" he called.
A Corps of Thirty mercenary by the name of Nidal was coincidentally walking around the area when he heard the Scribe's call. He quickly rushed towards where Alhaitham was.
"Yes, Scribe Alhaitham? What are your orders?" Nidal asked.
"Gather some of your men, we're possibly looking for a kidnapped person."
(Meanwhile)
"What is the meaning of this? Let go of me!"
You just woke up and found yourself in an unfamiliar place. Your wrists and legs are strapped to the examination table in the middle of the dark, dingy room.
A voice of a man suddenly echoed in the room, sending shivers down your spine
"Quit struggling, darling. Otherwise you might not make it out of here alive."
"Dottore... You still dare to show your face in the land of the God of Wisdom. You better let me go and get out of here!"
"Ooh, feisty... Still, that's not going to help you out of here."
Your body tensed the moment he walked towards you. You glared at him as you watched him circle you with a smile on his face.
"Do you know why you were brought here? Can you guess it?" Dottore asked. "Even if you knew, you wouldn't tell me. Let me do the honor to tell you. It all has to do with your origins, were you the one who inherited Zaleos' powers?"
"I won't hesitate to use that power on you..." you threatened him.
"Hah, even in this condition? Have you forgotten who you're dealing with? There's a reason why I'm second of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. Do you want me to prove tha--"
"Dottore, sir. I advise you not to put her under more stress, it's bad for the child in her w--"
"Yes yes, I understand, Najwa. Keep an eye on her and let me know when she's progressing."
(Later that evening)
"Ugh, we can finally rest! Seriously, I haven't even had a chance to eat breakfast yet. I'm already starving, luckily Miss Golshan came along and cooked us dinner."
After hours of trying to find you, the group decided to take a break as it was getting dark. They stopped at a campground that happens to have a pot over a campfire, which they used to cook dinner.
"It's nothing, Mr. Kaveh. I can't let you continue on this mission on an empty stomach, you will get sick and become a patient in the Bimarstan then," Golshan said.
"Aww, you're so considerate Miss Golshan. Unlike my anathema of a underclassmen, Alhaitham over here," Kaveh sneered.
"I already planned our mission even when you're panicking back at the Bimarstan earlier. How much more ungrateful can you be?" Alhaitham replied back.
"You didn't even bother to ask your senior whether he had breakfast or not!"
"It's because you didn't tell me."
Golshan sweatdropped at the sight of Alhaitham and Kaveh's bickering. She stopped them by ladling out the Minty Bean Soup into wooden bowls.
"Here you go, Mr. Kaveh. Your Minty Bean Soup," Golshan said as she handed a bowl of soup to him.
"Why thank you, Miss Golshan! You're my savior."
"Here's one for you too, Scribe Alhaitham."
"T-thank you, Miss Golshan..."
They enjoyed a warm and hearty dinner under the starry night sky. Alhaitham hasn't touched his soup, he instead observed the atmosphere around him. He saw members of his group talking, laughing, and joking with each other as they're having seconds of the Minty Bean Soup. Come to think of it, Alhaitham quite liked this kind of atmosphere. He really should have dinner with you more often...
Nidal and a few other Corps of Thirty members have returned with news.
"Scribe, we've found the place."
Tumblr media
It's the night of the celebration feast held to celebrate Cyno's reinstatement as the General Mahamatra. Alhaitham went to attend the event.
Two days have passed since the day of your kidnapping, and now you're safe in the hands of the Bimarstan. When they ventured into the place where you might be being held, you were found in a very concerning condition.
(Flashback)
The group burst into a dark, dingy room with a examination table in the middle. There, they found you lying on top of it. Alhaitham, Kaveh and Golshan were quick to approach you.
"Y/n...! Oh my Archon..." Kaveh gasped.
Alhaitham was quick to take you into his arms, thinking you would react to his touch. But, you laid completely still in his arms. He tried to shake your body and call your name hoping you would wake up, but his efforts were in vain.
"Goodness, she's cold to the touch... and her skin is abnormally pale... We have to run her to the Bimarstan as soon as possib--"
"But what about my niece/nephew? Where are they?!"
Kaveh's shouting triggered the sound of crying which can be heard from the next room. Nidal and his friends slowly approached the door to the room, followed by Golshan and Kaveh. After making sure that the room was safe from the outside, Nidal let them both in. And there, they found something surprising.
Golshan was too stunned to even speak properly, on the other Kaveh hand...
"Guess what Alhaitham said about me being clueless was right after all... I didn't expect them to be twins..."
(Flashback ends)
Yes, you heard it. You and Alhaitham had twin girls. Yay, congratulation! Shouldn't he be happy? Unfortunately, no, he wasn't.
While the others were eating and having fun, Alhaitham barely touched his food. Even though his face doesn't show much emotion, his feelings are mixed inside. Especially after remembering what Golshan said to him when they arrived at the Bimarstan.
"Twins usually take a long time to come out, but your daughters seemed to come out pretty fast. There are ways to speed up labor, but unfortunately your wife's delivery is forced to speed up. This caused her body to be heavily strained. And... I'm afraid she can't recover from this..."
Alhaitham gritted his teeth as he replayed Golshan's words over and over in his head. He didn't even notice the tight grip on the gold rimmed wine glass he was holding.
"Uhh, Alhaitham...? Are you okay? Paimon noticed you were gritting your teeth earlier, are the effects from the Divine Knowledge Capsule still there?" Paimon asked.
Alhaitham looked up from his reverie and saw his friends all looking at him with concern in their eyes. But he brushed it off as if it was nothing.
"The effects from the Divine Knowledge Capsule only lasted for a few minutes. It shouldn't give any side effect to this day. So yes, I'm completely fine. Don't mind me," Alhaitham said before taking a sip of his wine.
His friends are still worried about him, except for one. Cyno, he clearly knew why Alhaitham was behaving that way. Even though he is busy dealing with educational issues in Aaru Village, he knows the guilt that is in the Scribe's self.
"Just let him be," Cyno said curtly.
Although still feeling reluctant to leave Alhaitham alone, they tried to enjoy the feast 'till the moment it ended.
(After the celebration feast)
Cyno headed to the Bimarstan as he exited the door to the left from the Zubayr Theater stage. He immediately spotted Doctor Zakariya talking to Golshan.
"Oh, the General Mahamatra...! What brings you here to our fine establishment?" Doctor Zakariya greeted.
"Is the patient by the name of Y/n here?" he asked.
"She is resting inside. Mr. Kaveh has been staying here since two days ago, seems like he fell asleep too," Golshan informed.
"Alright, thank you."
The door to your room was slightly agape, Cyno peeked inside and saw Kaveh resting his head on the edge of the bed by your leg. He must have fallen asleep. Cyno tiptoed into the room, hoping that he won't wake any of you. But his efforts were in vain, as Kaveh woke up because he somehow felt another presence in the room.
"Oh, Cyno... Hello...! How's the celebration feast?" Kaveh greeted.
"It went just as you expected it would be."
Cyno looked at you then looked at the little bundles of joy sleeping in their crib. He couldn't help but smiled at the way they slept so soundly.
"Has Y/n woken up earlier?"
"She has... Miss Golshan gave us some food considering Y/n also didn't have breakfast the day she was kidnapped. I didn't mean to become such a nuisance to Miss Golshan and the Bimarstan, but there's no point for me to return to Alhaitham's residence. I mean, how could I?"
Cyno listened to Kaveh's pitiful rambling, as if he was drunk. Well he wasn't exactly drunk on alcohol, he was drunk on sadness.
"...Y/n hardly touched her food, I only managed to feed her a few spoonfuls of soup. Where even is Alhaitham? Was he enjoying the celebration feast?"
"He tried, but I saw through the facade he's trying to put up. I saw the guilt and regrets in his eyes, I know he feels bad about what he did," Cyno said.
"Huh, he better be..."
The two men in the room suddenly became alert when you stirred in your sleep. Kaveh moved his chair closer to you while Cyno stood by the end of the bed. Your eyes slowly fluttered open revealing those beautiful (eye color) eyes he adored.
"Y/n... hi...! You still have a lot of soup left. Do you want to continue eating it? I can feed you like before," Kaveh offered.
"Thanks Kaveh, but I'm not that hungry... How's the celebration feast, Cyno? Did you enjoy it?"
"It was good. I quite liked it," Cyno said.
"That's good to hear..."
The room fell silent and the only thing that could be heard was your labored breathing. You really were on your last leg. They couldn't do anything to help you other than keeping you company. They resented their uselessness, and it shows from their wistful expressions.
"Cyno... Could I... ask you of a favor?"
"...What is it?" he asked.
"Would you do the honors of reciting the prayer in the baby's ears?"
"Agh... Are you sure...?" Cyno flusteredly asked.
You nodded as Kaveh had already picked up your older daughter and handed her to the General Mahamatra. The architect even had time to correct the way he held the little one.
"Have you given her a name?"
"No, I... haven't even thought of a name yet..."
The General Mahamatra hummed before bringing your older daughter closer to his lips. "May the God watch over you and protect you."
And it was at that moment Alhaitham came into the room. His arrival was unexpected, but they knew he'll eventually come around. Kaveh scorned at Alhaitham's presence, while you and Cyno were relieved to see him. You could see the way his eyes soften at you waking up and at the twins.
"Alhaitham..."
"Look who finally decided to show up! Don't you understand how frustrating it is for you to just come and go as you please to do?" Kaveh confronted.
"Senior Kaveh, I understand this is upsetting but I beg you to calm do--"
"Oh, so now you're acting respectful to me!? I see you Alhaitham, I see you! I don't know what kind of game you're playing with me, but I advise you to stop it right now! I am getting sick of it!"
Kaveh's outburst was understandable but Cyno cared about your welfare. After returning your older daughter to you, he dragged Kaveh out of the room.
"That's enough, Kaveh. Let's go," Cyno said.
"Whaa-- Ugh, Cyno...! Don't you understand what I'm trying to do?" Kaveh protested.
"It's better we leave them alone so they can talk things over."
For a moment you two were alone, Alhaitham let his emotional wall down as he suddenly pulled you into a hug and pressed his forehead against yours.
"...Don't scare me like that. I thought you would never wake up."
"Not as scared as I was when I heard you were exiled to Aaru Village. I won't forgive you for nearly giving me a heart attack..."
He chuckled at your words before planting a kiss on your forehead. Since you were already holding your older daughter, Alhaitham picked up her younger sister who was still fast asleep in her crib. She was cranky for a moment but quickly calmed down and warmed up to her father's touches.
"...Look at them. Aren't they just the most adorable and precious things you've seen on Teyvat?"
Alhaitham had to agree. It really was the most precious thing he had ever seen. His genuine smile as he looked at his two daughters with such affection warms your heart.
"Have you given them names?" he asked.
"No, I haven't... Actually I was waiting to discuss it with you..."
This caused Alhaitham to feel even worse. How long have you been waiting for him? Why are you so patient with him? He felt he was not worthy of you.
"Hey...! No, don't go to sleep yet... We haven't even started the discussion..."
Alhaitham's desperate calls was heard by the two men who were outside the room, causing Kaveh and Cyno to come back inside. They could see you were struggling to breathe and they couldn't deny the fact that you were dying.
"Alhaitham, please... listen to me. Can you... recite the prayer in our younger daughter's ear?"
He simply nodded as he stood up to recite the prayer. Kaveh has gotten close to you to take turns holding your older daughter in one arm and holding your hand. You watched as Alhaitham does his job like a father, and it made your heart flutter. You couldn't be more proud of him.
'Forgive me Alhaitham, but I can't continue on this journey. My time has come, and my life will come to an end. Don't worry, you have many friends who will accompany you on this journey. Even if you feel lost, they are the ones who will help you and guide you to the right path. I entrust our two daughters in your hands. I love you... goodbye.'
Alhaitham seemed to be in a world of his own, and it was only when he finished reciting the prayer that he realized what had happened. Kaveh sobbed as he begged you to come back signified you have passed.
"No... no...! You can't possibly leave me alone! Please Y/n, I beg of you...! Come back...!"
Cyno tugged at his headpiece to hide the fact his lips were quivering. Alhaitham didn't even realize the expression he has on his face right now. How his eyes widened as tears flowed down his face.
The men in the room were caught off guard as the little ones began to feel the loss of their mother. Alhaitham who was holding his crying younger daughter didn't know how to handle her, when suddenly he saw the way Kaveh handled his older daughter.
"Oh no, no no no... It's okay, my dear... Shhhh... Don't cry, Uncle Kaveh's here... We're in this together, okay? I want you to be strong..."
Kaveh was right. What did you even see in him? Alhaitham began to question everything he thought he knew. Just like you at the beginning of this story.
Alhaitham thinks he doesn't deserve to have received your love and affection.

[Author's Note]: Whew! I finally finished writing the prologue of this series! *cue the author's celebration dance*
I know I stated in my rules that I won't be writing for Alhaitham, but I just couldn't help it. For me, this series is just my way to explore his character :)

ALRIGHT GHOSTS AND GHOULS
I finally finished Danny Phantom, and I think, as a wee lass I completely missed season three, because I genuinely did not know/remember that Danny got ice powers? Like, kind of out of nowhere. And if I'm being super honest...
They did a shit job telegraphing that. Like seriously? S3E2, Danny stumbles upon The Map to Infinity, and at the VERY END of the episode, FrostBoi says "He has more in common with us than he realizes." And I'm thinking "Oh yea, he's like, Prophesized Ghost Jesus or something, of course he has more in common with the ghosts." And then nothing for 4 whole episodes! Not a hint or inkling of anything, then
BAM!
Start of S3E6, Danny's got the shakes. Okay, that's interesting, maybe Danny has a Ghost Cold, or Ecto-Fluenza or something. It's not uncommon for these types of shows to do "Sickness has adverse effects on super powers" episodes, but no, it's ice for some reason. Still not really sure why Ice. Like, ice doesn't seem like a particularly ghostly power to me, outside of "Ghost cause a Chill" mythos. Lots of ice puns.
ANYWAY, season 3 seemed pretty okay to me. There's a little ick in some of the episodes. S3E1 was weird. It seems out of character for Plasmius to stoop to Danny's level, being a 40yo, and while Danny did the same to him, I'm still not really comfortable with the choice to have the Middle Age Bad Guy basically show the entire school Danny naked.
I can kind of see why a lot of people dislike Season 3, it often feels like it regresses characters to previous, less developed states for the sake of a plot when they could have just used a different interpersonal conflict that would have worked just as well...
However, I DO like some of the development shown in this season, like Johnny 13 and Danny having a kind of Frenemies relationship where they kick the snot out of each other but all in good fun. I actually wish we could see more of this, where Danny actually manages to befriend ghosts that were previously enemies. Like, can you imagine an episode where Danny senses a ghost, goes and finds out it's someone like, The Lunch Lady, and he's like "Doris, c'mon, we talked about this, you can't keep coming in here and bothering the Living lunch ladies just because you don't like what's on the menu. Let's go get some coffee and then we can go back to the Ghost Zone." That would be amazing and hilarious, plus, could you imagine the Lunch Lady haranguing Danny because "You're only skin and bones, Boy, you need to eat more. You'll never get big and strong if you don't eat enough!" The jokes write themselves!
Alright, to address the elephant in the room; Phantom Planet.
I want to say one thing. Yes, it's not very good, but I do kind of see where Sam, Tucker, and Jazz are coming from, I just think the writing about WHY they feel the way they do is bad. See, if you look at the Subtext of what the writers are TRYING to communicate, it's about the core of why people like Super Heroes. Yes, being special is cool, but it's about more than that. At the core of Super Herodom is a desire to be able to help people when they're in need in a world where more and more you're too busy keeping your own head above water to be able to help others.
This desire to help, mixed with the inability to do so creates frustration, and that frustration is exponentially increased when you see someone who CAN help either not help, or give up the ability to help.
There are entire shows I've stopped watching because the Main Protagonist is CONSTANTLY complaining about their super cool powers, and I absolutely hate that. I would do a lot of things to get super powers, and to see someone get them, and either complain about them, or even do what they can to get rid of them rubs me the wrong way because that is my dream. To be able to help people like that. I think THAT'S what they were going for with Sam, Tucker, and Jazz. They just did it poorly, like everything else in Phantom Planet.

Been rewatching some of the Mighty Nein campaign cause I was missing them and also I'm excited for their one shot soon! I've seen a few people speculating about the one shot so thought I'd put my thoughts out into the void as well.
I honestly don't know at all what to expect from this one shot. I don't even remember what the description was beyond that it has to do with the apogee solstice stuff. I haven't kept up much with campaign 3 for my own reasons that I don't need to get into now. However, I did actually watch a couple of the episodes during the solstice and got lucky with watching the ep with beau and caleb in it. But otherwise, I barely know what's going on. I have no idea what the M9 will be dealing with. My theories include anything from getting Beau and Caleb back and dealing with cultists along the way to dealing with the Cerberus Assembly's/Ludinus' attachments to this whole thing to stopping Tharizdun or some other entity from doing some fuck shit. Honestly, I don't fucking know man. I don't even really think any of that shit will happen.
I don't know if it's been confirmed that Caduceus is gonna be the one in this one shot but I really hope it is him. One of the things that's been bothering me about this arc from the BH perspective (at least that I've seen) is that none of them or any that they've come across has been able to argue for the side of the gods and the good that some of them can do. As someone who really likes the worldbuilding and rp that gods can bring to settings like this, not having that perspective represented has been disappointing for me. (This is not the fault of the cast or their guests or anything like that, that is not what I'm saying. It is their choice what characters they play and it is Matt's choice as the DM which NPCs/areas they come across in wherever they decide to explore. I'm just mentioning my own preference and feelings as it pertains to the one shot which is what I'm talking about). Anyway, I hope it's Caduceus because I think he will bring an incredibly interesting perspective on this whole thing. And I think Fjord will too but not to the extent that Cad can since Cad and his family grew up as worshippers of Melora.
We don't know the fate of Beau and Caleb and while I don't think they're dead, I really hope they aren't gone for most of this one shot. Beau is my favorite character in any media ever. I fucking love Beau so much. And Beauyasha is my favorite couple, I love them. I will be literally so sad if Marisha isn't playing Beau for this one shot. Like I'll understand but also I will indeed be devastated. Beauyasha is like my Roman Empire (this joke will be aging this post LMAO but its a good comparison honestly), I think about them A LOT. I want to see more content from them. I was at SDCC, I was there when Ashley said she felt like she wasn't fully finished with Yasha and that's exactly how I feel. The Mighty Nein's story was so good but the way it ended felt so long and then so abrupt (but that's another post). I will always be wanting more of Beau and Yasha's story. I want to know as much as Marisha and Ashley are willing to give us. So I hope the one shot starts with Beau and Caleb and how they reunite with the Nein and then get to business. Or even better, with them already reunited for maximum Nein time.
Those are my main two thoughts for now. I actually need to go to bed cause I got work in the morning and it's been kicking my ass these last two weeks so imma cut it there and check back tomorrow. If you somehow see this, I hope you enjoyed my ramblings lol

Slime
Who's ready for some angst?
So anyway I have a different fic (the snippet I posted just a second ago) I wanted to do for valentine's, but that one is nowhere near finished, and this one is, so. Y'know.
It's kinda badly written, buuuut I don't care. I'm so very tired o~0
Anyway, enjoy!
Warnings:: Fear of death, dehumanization, ect.
Word Count: 3,070
Karl can't speak in his gummy/true form—which I've decided to use for angst.
He is a relative of the slime family, kinda like Slimecicle, but Karl can’t really control his form when he’s stressed/has lost too much mass. He mostly violet/purple, but his limbs do have a slight gradient to blue/teal. He is much younger than Slimecicle, and has not lived in a hole for centuries, so he has a much, much better understanding of retaining a human form and shape than Charlie does.
So anyway, he gets stuck in his true form for some reason, like exhaustion or stress.
It's equated to damage, like slime hybrids in osmp. He gets attacked by a mob of zombies, loses his ability to retain human-ish shape, and loses enough mass to be small, like a foot tall small. If he had enough to eat, and wasn't super stressed, maybe he'd be able to gain back enough mass to become his human self again, but, as it is, he can't.
And he can't speak, either. His two fiancés, Sap and Q, don't know about his true form, and he's scared of what they might do to him if they catch him (while Sap and Q are very kind to him, in his human form, he didn't want to risk it. Quackity had a mean streak twenty miles wide, and Sapnap did enjoy killing things. Especially pets. What if he got mistaken for a hostile mob? He was a slime, after all) so, he tries to hide in Kinoko.
But! After a few too many close calls, he decides that it would be better for him to go somewhere else, so he travels out of Kinoko into the main Smp. This leads to him getting caught by some curious people (Tubbo, Ranboo, and Michael) who think that Karl's just a strange, somewhat intelligent, mob. They end up keeping him in a cage as a cool new pet, and poor Karl doesn't have anything to write with or signify that he's not an animal, dangit. A pencil wouldn't really be much use, because he didn't actually have fingers in his slime form, but still. He could have worked it out.
The teens weren't so bad, he supposed, but they treat him like he’s a cat or a dog or something, and it just feels demeaning. So, he devises a plan to escape. It’s really not that hard, actually, he just has to squish his malleable body through the bars of his kennel and make his way out the door. The snow outside poses a bit of a problem for his semi-liquid body, but he is the consistency of jello. It helps him a little bit, but some of his body mass freezes off, leaving him even smaller. Eventually, though, he manages to get out of the tundra and starts making his way back to Kinoko, because even if he gets caught and treated like a pet by Sap, Q and Goggy, at least it'd be safer. At least it'd be by people he trusted. At least it'd be by the people he loved. And even if they kill him, at least he wouldn’t have to live as somebody’s pet anymore.
Meanwhile, Sap and Q are freaking out, cause they can't find Karl anywhere, and it's bordering on four weeks that he's been missing. They’ve nearly turned the Smp upside-down looking for him, and unfortunately, nobody else has seen Karl, either.
So when Karl finally makes it out of the tundra, he still can't change back. He's just so stressed with everything going on, so when he eventually gets to Kinoko, he's faced with a choice: hide again, or show himself to try and communicate with the other residents of Kinoko.
He made the easy choice. He decides to find his fiancés.
The two were in the courtyard, Quackity reading through some documents piled next to him and Sapnap sparring against a training dummy. He approached them carefully, hiding behind barrels and building fixtures until he was close enough to reveal himself to Quackity. (He was not going near Sapnap with a sword, not when he looked like this. That was a good way to get cleaved in half.
He finally revealed himself to Quackity, stepping out from the shadows and tugging on the avian’s pant leg. Quackity shrieked, flailing enough to tip his wicker chair over and scatter his papers across the stones of the courtyard. Sapnap heard Quackity scream and was running in a flash, brandishing his sword towards Karl as he sprinted over.
Karl’s heart stopped. He had the opportunity to run, in the short time before Sanap arrived and speared him through, but…this was the first time he had seen either of his fiancés since he first got stuck like this. It had been nearly a month. And now, Sapnap was about to kill him, and they’d. They’d never know. They’d never know that it was him.
Karl’s legs wobbled, and then all but melted beneath his body. He threw his arms over his head and curled in on himself, his entire being quivering in fear and despair. He didn’t want to see Sapnap kill him, didn’t want to see one of the loves of his life deliver the final blow.
Sapnap skidded to a stop just as he reached them, head cocking in confusion as the little purple slime folded in on itself upon his arrival. The entire mass was wiggling, almost like it was afraid of him. Curiously, he poked it with the tip of his sword and was rewarded by it unfurling and trying to scramble away on its back. Beady little dot eyes blinked at him, wide and glimmering in the morning light.
"Hey! It's colored like one of Karl's hoodies! Like, y'know, the blue and purple one?" Sapanp realized, a grin spreading across his face as he shot a glance at Quackity. The avian, who had been crouched behind his overturned wicker chair, peeked over it at the slime's splayed out body. Sapnap was right. It did look like one of Karl’s hoodies.
“So it does,” he agreed, climbing to his feet and approaching Karl. “It…it seems more scared than hostile.” Karl nodded frantically at the avian’s words, scooching backwards as Quackity grew closer. Quackity paused in surprise and shared a look with Sapnap. He waved at the fireborn to put away his sword and turned back to the shivering slime on the ground.
“Hey,” he murmured, crouching slowly down to inspect the little slime. “Can you understand us?” At Karl’s hurried nod, a pensive frown stretched across his face. “...can you speak?”
Karl slowly shook his head, feeling strangely ashamed.
After some contemplation, he turned back to Sapnap with a curious expression on his face. “I think it’s like Charlie. Just…not quite as developed, maybe? Cause Charlie can talk, even when he’s small.”
Sapnap snorted out a small laugh. “Don’t let Charlie hear you say that. He’ll freak out over his ‘cover’ being blown.” All the same, he joined Quackity in inspecting Karl.
Karl deflated at the remark. While it wasn’t meant to hurt him, it still smarted. Charlie was older than he was! By several centuries! Of course he’d have better control over his body!
He waved his arms furiously, gesturing towards himself, and then towards Sapnap and Quackity. He was trying to tell them that it was him, that he was Karl, but they just didn’t seem to understand!
He couldn't sign either, he didn't. Have. Fingers.
He was still himself! He was still Karl…he guessed the others didn't realize that. He guessed they couldn't tell. They wouldn't have any reason to think that he, the strange little slime creature that wandered up to them, was their fiancé.
Unbidden, his eyes started to burn, and tears sprung to his eyes. Karl scrubbed at his eyes furiously. He didn't want to cry! Of all the things he couldn't do in his slime form, why wasn't crying one of them?!
"It's crying! Dude, I think you hurt its feelings! What do we do?" Sapnap exclaimed, tail twitching and flicking anxiously. Quackity shrugged, eyes guilty. “I dunno, man! I didn’t know slimes could cry! Charlie never has!”
Sapnap bit his lip, thinking, then scooped Karl up into his arms. “Hey, it’s okay, little guy. I know Quackity can be a dick sometimes, but don’t take it to heart. It’ll be okay, okay?” Sapnap ignored the affronted noise that the avian made and gently stroked his fingers over Karl’s head while making cooing noises. Karl took the gesture of comfort for what it was, burying his head against Sapnap’s chest and sobbing into the fireborn’s shirt. He poured the pent-up emotions of being trapped in a cage for days and treated like an animal, of being half frozen, of being afraid and unable to speak for weeks into Sapnap’s shirt, soaking it through with fluids he probably couldn’t afford to lose. If he kept crying like he was, he'd start losing more mass. He didn’t want that. Not when it was so hard to gain back.
Karl cries for a long, long while. Sapnap and Quackity don’t really know what to do, because that’s obviously not because of Quackity’s remark, but something that had built up over time.
They decide to take in the little slime, letting it live with them as long as it wanted to.
For Karl, their decision was a godsend, because he could rest and recover in a familiar place, with people he loved. He was allowed to roam wherever he wanted (which is a step up from the cage Tubbo had him in) and he stayed with at least one of his fiancés every day. Unfortunately, he was still stuck in his slime form, no matter what he tried.
Despite everything, Sapnap was rather…dense. And most of the time, Quackity was either busy with his affairs with Las Nevadas, or he was looking for Karl. Neither of them ever realized that he was with them, nearly all of the time.
And no matter how much he tried, he couldn't get his hands on an inked quill and a piece of paper. The frustration had reduced him to stinging tears, and it took him a while more before he gave up and accepted that he'd probably never get to tell his fiancés who he was.
It was fine. He would be fine.
He would.
_______
Quackity found himself becoming rather fond of the little slime over the few weeks it had been with them, and he was absolutely delighted on the days it decided to hang around with him. It usually alternated between himself and Sapnap, and sometimes didn’t go with either of them, but today it had decided to spend its time with him.
Right now, it was hanging from his neck like a sloth, or perhaps a koala would, as he made his way along one of the many paths of Las Nevadas. He was headed to the casino today, needing to do a checkup on the slot machines and make sure that nobody had tampered with anything.
A green, semi-translucent figure bounced towards Quackity, and a fond smile grew across his face as Charlie barreled closer. He raised a hand in preparation to greet the slime. Charlie’s face lit up, and he sped towards Quackity at a much more rapid pace, his own gelatinous arm raised to meet the avian’s.
"Hello, Quackity from Las Nevadas! Hello, Karl from Kinoko Kingdom!" A green palm slapped his own, but Quackity was too startled to respond to the slime’s exuberant greeting. Karl was here?!
Quackity jerked ramrod straight, and his head whipped from side to side, wildly searching the surrounding buildings. "Karl?"
The little purple slime frantically patted Quackity's chest, nearly losing its one-armed grip around the avian's neck. Quackity looked down at it with sad eyes, confusion clear in his face.
Karl slapped his own chest, staring imploringly at the big avian. To his utter disappointment, Quackity looked away from him and back up at Charlie.
"Wh–where's Karl, Charlie? Where did you see him?" The avian sounded desperate, and it hurt, to hear Quackity call for him when he was right there. Karl’s eyes stung, and he sent a pleading look Charlie’s way. The bigger slime met his gaze, and a small, sympathetic grin formed over his face.
Very gently, the bigger slime leaned forward and patted one green hand on top of Karl's head. "Karl from Kinoko Kingdom." The green slime said plainly, moving his gaze from Karl up to Quackity’s.
Karl nodded frantically, twisting his hand-nubs into Quackity's rumpled dress shirt and bracing his legs against the avian’s sternum. He pulled himself up, high enough that he was face-to-nose with Quackity, and waved frantically between himself and Charlie. His movements were so violent that he lost his grip, and panic strummed though his body when he tipped backwards and fell.
His back smacked against something oddly lumpy, and he realized that Quackity had brought his hands up to catch him, even while he was staring at him as if he was in some kind of daze.
Finally, Quackity blinked several times and hesitantly brushed his thumb along Karl’s arm, almost as if he thought the slime would disappear at a moment's notice.
“Y-You’re Karl?!” His voice was shaking, and his eyes were watering. Karl nodded frantically, curling one of his hand-nubs around Quackity’s thumb. The line of the avian’s mouth wavered, and he wiped his eyes on his shoulder before turning to Charlie.
"Charlie, why can't he talk?"
"He's been de-gooped, Quackity from Las Nevadas. He doesn't have enough of himself to form properly." Charlie paused for a long moment, then. "Not that I know anything about that, seeing as I am a perfectly normal human being with perfectly normal human bones."
Quackity didn’t bother answering, instead staring down at the little purple slime draped over his hands. Karl had been with them the entire time…? Karl had been with them while they were looking for him…
An incredulous laugh escaped from his lips, and soon, he found himself doubled over, Karl clutched to his chest, cackling like a madman as a wave of emotion overcame him.
Karl found himself squished against a layer of smoky cotton as he was squeezed to Quackity’s chest in a desperate hug, the scent of cigarettes and the dusty smell of sand pervading his senses from the tight embrace.
After what felt like too much time and not enough, Quackity loosened his grip on Karl’s body, and his laughter petered out. A doofy grin still decorated his face, and his eyes were scanning over Karl like he’d never seen him before.
Seconds later, his eyes widened, and his grin grew. “I gotta tell Sapnap! Holy fuck he’s gonna be so happy!”
Quackity shifted Karl to one arm and pulled his communicator out with the other. It took him a few seconds to do it one handed, but Karl saw him pull up Sapnap’s contact and hit call. It rang for a few moments, before their third picked up. “Yea–”
“Sapnap, Sapnap, I fucking found Karl.” Quackity didn’t even pause to let Sapnap get a word in, bowling over anything the other man had to say. “Sapnap, he’s the fucking slime, he’s fucking been here the whole goddamn time!”
“Oh my fucking god.”
“I fucking know!” Quackity grinned down at Karl, cradled in the crook of his left arm. Karl waved back up at him, eyes scrunched up in joy.
“I’m headed over there right now. Don’t you two fucking move, got it?”
Quackity laughed and planted himself on a bench on the side of the road, pulling Karl into his lap and hugging the little slime to his chest. “We won’t, we won’t. We’ll be here, dude.”
Quackity hung up and shoved his communicator back into his pocket. His other arm circled around Karl’s pliable body, and he looked down at the slime, eyes wide with wonder.
“Dude, what the fuck,” he whispered, and all Karl could do was shrug, chest feeling lighter than it had in a long, long while.
Charlie wandered away while they waited, stating that he needed to go check his holes (Quackity needed to fill some of those in, he’d nearly broken his ankle about eight times) leaving the two of them to wait for their third.
When Sapnap finally arrived, he made a beeline for the little purple slime resting in Quackity’s lap, sprinting through town and skidding to a stop right in front of them.
He immediately reached for Karl, his warm hands surrounding his torso and his thumbs pressing against Karl's chest. He was plucked up from Quackity’s arms before he could blink, and then he was brought towards Sapnap’s face.
The huge fireborn pressed a kiss against Karl’s face, lips as big as his head smothering against his face. He leaned into it, wrapping his arms around Sapnap's cheeks and jawline in an awkward hug. It was a good thing he didn't technically breathe through his nonexistent mouth, because he'd be suffocating from how long his face was being squashed into Sapnap's lips.
Then he was being squished against the fireborn's stubbled cheek, a deep, elated purr jiggling his entire body. Karl leaned into it, burying his face into Sapnap's cheek and wrapping himself in the familiar, comforting scent of charcoal and dirt. It felt different now, now that they knew.
Sapnap held him at arms length, hands still wrapped firmly around his chest. Karl’s legs dangled limply below, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Sapnap asked earnestly. Karl shot him a flat look and getsured first at his mouthless face, then at his fingerless hand-nubs, and then finally over his whole body in general. The fireborn winced, realizing that Karl physically couldn’t.
It was fine now, though, because they finally knew.
When they finally went to bed that night, he was cocooned between their chests, in a warm embrace formed by the blanket and the two bodies of his fiancés. He wasn’t a pet, he wasn’t dead, and they. Knew.
He still couldn’t build up enough body mass to grow back to normal size and retain his human shape, but it was more bearable now, now that his fiancés knew who he was.

Hello, Fabulous Fans of the Fandom!!! It has definitely been a hot second.
Didn't post anything about their posts, and Pap walks, for the reason that I'm pretty sure they're getting ideas from rant posts like mine... Didn't want them getting more ideas, so no rant post.
But today, I'm making an exception. 😉
Tumblr media
Before we begin though, 👸 wants to give y'all a small warning ⚠️
Tumblr media
To start, let's look at this photo...
Tumblr media
Is that who we think it is?
Is it?
Is it?
Nah, I'm just kidding. Don't worry if you thought it was Albitch, trust me, you weren't the only one 😆
Tumblr media
Thank you, 👸 for handing me these screenshots 😁
"Funny how, Kim Kardashian's nudes made her famous. But when AB did it, to try and get attention, we constantly mock her for it."-👸
Girl! You've got a point 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Now that I have your attention, let's get to my main topic...
WTF has been happening lately?!?!
Well, for one thing, I know we're all tense one way or another about Valentine's Day. Since aside from being the most romantic day of the year, it's also the anniversary of the dreaded VDay photo dump.
And then there's the uterus-obssesed trolls from her side, expecting a baby announcement... Fuck y'all, by the way 🖕 which made me more tense about February 14.
But what happens a few hours before February 14 American time? Chris posts an adorable video about Dodger instead.
Still, that didn't help alleviate the tension. Because Dodger might help a little, but he's been used before, and it most definitely wasn't fun.
But then, it turns out Albitch isn't even in the same country. She flew to France with a bunch of friends. Friends who were seen to be posting to their boyfriends, saying how they missed them.
But why is Albitch's trip so important? Well, let me tell you. She WASN'T in the same country, when Chris just proved he's in Mass, and her friends' posts showed her WITHOUT her ring, in France.
Oddly enough, it was around this time, that photos of ringless-Chris-lookalike surfaced. The photos that were shown and sent to people/blogs that were guaranteed to get it circling the internet before the end of the day.
Tumblr media
Seriously, are they slipping? Or was it deliberate?
Anyway, when Valentine's finally came, we were in the clear. Chris' Instagram remained silent, except for that one significant Dodger post.
Tumblr media
Things stayed relatively quiet for a while, aside from the France trips making their rounds here and there. But it all came to a head earlier, when Chris posted on his story...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Further confirming how far apart he, and his dear "wife" really are. Who's been seen, eating out in France, still missing her ring...
I mean, really? Do y'all not eat out with finger jewelry? Is that another lame excuse y'all have for her?🙄
And three days ago, this article gets released... And the legitimacy is still up for debate, but the fact that it's here, feels like the perfect storm to me.
Not saying that it's the beginning of the end. But it's something!
Now, honestly, it's a mess in the Fandom. This whole thing is causing a shit storm, like always, and it's not pretty.
But whether or not this means something, we have to keep a level head. This could go either way. Which is why I, personally am taking the win.
Wins are few and far between right now, so, I'm taking it. And I'm also finishing two fics, and enjoying my book. Which is a pretty big deal, considering, I haven't been able to finish a book for most of last year 🥺
Thank you to my fabulous friends for sourcing me, and guiding me to the screenshots that allowed me to make my posts. Y'all truly are the best eyes and ears, a girl can ask for. 🫶
And please let me know, or feel free to add, if I forgot anything, guys😊
Until the next one!
❤️ Booky

not my usual content but. I've been very obsessed with gta v lately and I finished the game today (not 100%, but the credits rolled). I chose C, and I didn't feel like save scumming to do the other two endings, especially cause I didn't think I could really stomach killing Trevor (unfortunately I've become very obsessed with him) so I went to youtube to watch play throughs of A and B and jesus. first of all I was right, I would NOT be able to stomach killing Trevor. The fact that you have to chase him down the highway before Michael crashes into him at the oil fields. that is just so sad to me for some reason. like he really was trying to be loyal and a good friend and he knows he's gonna die but he's just trying his hardest to get away from an impossible situation. idk if this is just how the person did it, but they didn't have Franklin kill him and Michael eventually does it himself. Is that how it has to happen? Does the game not let Franklin kill Trevor? Is Michael always the one who has to do it? Usually the wording when you have to kill someone in the game is "eliminate." For Trevor it was "put down." He doesn't even get the luxury of a quick bullet through the head. He's burned alive as you watch. Michael walks away basically fine and he gets Trevor's share of the Union depository score. Pretty sure if I chose that, I would have walked away with the most empty feeling in my chest. Then B comes. Now, Michael is the main character who most consistently annoyed me throughout the game, but even with that I don't think I could do B. He's got a family that he loves. I really do think he truly cared about Franklin, and while he shows that even in this ending he's willing to turn on Trevor (even when Trevor refuses to turn on Michael) I do think he was telling the truth about wanting to help Franklin, not just use him. In the play through I watched, the person choose to save Michael when he's dangling from his arm, and instead of letting that happen, Michael headbutts Franklin and essentially kills himself. Why does he do that? I cannot for the life of me fathom why he would do that. I mean, obviously in the game he has to die cause that's the option you chose, but what's the Watsonian reason for Michael killing himself there? Matter of fact, why even give the player the choice to save Michael at all? The assumption is you've already decided to kill him, why reconfirm that choice with an action that isn't even a choice at all cause the end result is the same? You leave B alone, literally, and you feel that as the player too. Franklin calls Lamar, says they should hang out sometime. A small irony, given that the last conversation they had if you choose that ending is one where Lamar tells Franklin what a shitty friend he's been lately. A and B are so clearly the wrong choice for the ending, it boggles my mind. Why have bad endings to your game? Were they worried C wouldn't hold up narratively so they added two shit endings to make it look that much better? I admit, there are definitely some loose ends with the character side plots, but it's my understanding that there's still game left to play even after the credits roll. Even then, C is a fantastic ending all on it's own. I just don't understand. I almost wish I hadn't seen the other endings cause it almost ruins Michael for me, you know? Knowing that in two of the three endings he's willing to turn on Trevor on a dime. There's nothing to say that he wouldn't do that in C given the chance. But Trevor doesn't turn, even when he's offered. I noticed in the graveyard scene that Trevor throws his gun at Michael before he runs away — he never takes the shot. He never takes a shot at Michael. Michael shoots at Trevor as he runs. he misses, but he still shoots. I'm not saying Trevor was always on Michael's side — he could care less when he learns Michael's been kidnapped, but he was never going to actively harm Michael. And that's the whole justification for A, isn't it? That Trevor's too crazy, they *have* to kill him cause he'll kill everyone else eventually.
But C is proof that that isn't true. Trevor will stay your friend, he will stay loyal. So then A was never necessary. You never had to kill Trevor. C is proof you don't have to kill either of them. idk.

An episode of Star Trek Prodigy that I have to assume won't exist
So I've been thinking about how the story could "end". My understanding from official announcements is that season 2 will be the end of this part of the story, and that if the series continues after that, a new arc will start.
So of course I've been trying to figure out how "this part of the story" ends, and I keep getting stuck because the way time travel works in Star Trek is really inconsistent, so it's hard to nail down what's possible. So here's a possible season 2 finale that would get chucked in the writer's room garbage and replaced with something more thematically coherent:
So since I finished season 1 I've been paranoid about what happens to Gwyn if she actually does save Solum from itself. In the 2009 movies, Spock is able to live freely in the Kelvin timeline despite being from somewhere else, but in ENT S3 "E Squared", for example, the main characters meet their grandkids who got thrown back in time to save them, and after the rescue mission is complete, the descendant ship disappears and everyone forgets this happened. It's my understanding that the second type of time travel is more common in TNG than the former.
This concerns me because it could happen to Gwyn.
I mean, she's literally going back in time to stop the thing that caused her to be born. There's two timeline branches, and in one of them, nearly everyone is dead or about to be rescued from it. As far as I can tell, they could evacuate the other timeline and if it collapses on the way out, literally the only casualty would be Gwyn. (other than Ascencia, whom I assume will not be around by the end of the story for other reasons.)
So let's say she does it. She goes to Solum and makes first contact on behalf of the Federation and influences them to make the right choices and there's no civil war!! Good job!! Solum joins the Federation, everyone is happy, and the morning after the papers are signed Dal wakes up in the hammock under the engine of Nandi's ship like nothing ever happened.
He's older than he was the last time he was here, but Nandi doesn't seem to think he ever left. Apparently he's been doing bigger and bigger jobs and has amassed an impressive pile of crap in his corner made of things he took from people some way or another. Behind a panel somewhere he even finds a hidden pile of money, presumably so he could eventually buy his own ship.
He starts to wonder if he dreamed the whole thing, but eventually is able to get to the edge of the quadrant and pick up news from the Federation. Around this time, the Protostar has returned home from its first excursion and Chakotay is about to go right back out. He says he's had all sorts of adventures, including a mention of going through a wormhole and having to find his way back, having met a Federation society from some point in the future.
So, Dal realizes that this is the world in which Solum never goes back in time to save itself because it doesn't need saving. Chakotay is fine, Nandi didn't sell Dal as an "unwanted", Dal became a better con artist and thief. With some heavy research, he's able to find the show where Rok-Tahk used to perform, and ask where she was sold if not to the Diviner. Another mining colony. He doesn't really have enough information to find anybody else, but has to assume they were sold elsewhere, slaves on other colonies throughout the Delta quadrant.
So he goes to Janeway. Explains to her that he's from a timeline where some things were different. Everyone else has forgotten, but because his brain is DNA soup, he's immune to some complicated temporal effects. He has to give Chakotay's command codes to prove he is who he says he is.
The thing is, at this point in the story, Dal knows where Solum is. Season 2 has already happened, Chakotay has been found and rescued, but the Federation hasn't made first contact with them. Dal has a choice.
He isn't trusted, but he could regain the trust he once had. Janeway believes him. He knows an awful lot about her and he's familiar with all the Starfleet regulations a cadet would have had to memorize. He knows the advice she tends to give. Dal could make contact with Solum on behalf of the Federation. He knows where it is. He's the only one.
But how he does it determines how well it goes. He could ensure everything goes over perfectly, and proceed with his life as planned - fighting to get into Starfleet Academy so he can be the captain of a starship, armed with the knowledge of a failed alternate timeline other cadets can't learn from. He might even be able to bring Rok-Tahk with him. Maybe she doesn't like science in this timeline but he can make sure she's okay.
Or, he could screw it up. On purpose. Tell them that the Federation wants them for their superior technology, and that they have to change their ways to fit in. Stoke the fires of civil war, and leave. If he does this, everything goes back to the way it was. Maybe even enter a stable time loop where Gwyn fixes things and Dal screws them up over and over.
I think this is a fun concept to think about but I am 95% sure I'm off the mark about this having anything to do with where the story is going.
See, if Gwyn gets erased from the timeline, she's basically died for her abusive slave-owning father's sins, and while I don't think it's impossible to make that work narratively, I think it would be really difficult. I think what would be most empowering as a story is if she takes up the mantle of saving Solum in a peaceful way and gets to move on with her own life.
Which is why I came across the question of how to save her. I think if given the choice she'd sacrifice herself for Solum. Needs of the many, etc. The show demonstrates that the reason she likes Dal is that he puts her first when no one else does. So it's... workable that Dal would have a hand in figuring out how to keep her from being lost conceptually to the timeline. At the same time, Dal is supposed to be getting better, not worse. Siccing him with the choice of saving his love interest's life / saving his teammates from slavery against upholding Starfleet values is, again, not impossible to make work but really hard without breaking the bounds of moral grayness Dal himself tends to be subjected to.
Finally there's the complicated case of writing about slavery overall. In this story, you would have to do some onscreen math about whether the Delta quadrant is better or worse without the influence of the Diviner. Realistically, everyone would have been sold to a different slaver, but a decrease in the number of penal operations has to mathematically be a good thing. Dal choosing between the two timelines ultimately chooses whether to give the Diviner a pass for his many, many crimes, which is, again, probably out of the scope of this series.
Still, I'm enjoying parts of it as an AU. What would an older Dal look like if he'd eventually become more successful as a protege of Nandi? What would Janeway and Chakotay do in the absence of his capture? How can the story avoid the problem of erasing Gwyn?
Ultimately I think they're going to have to go with the explanation of Spock from the 2009 movies. She exists here, she just does, matter can't be created or destroyed and her matter is standing on the bridge with us.
Still, I'm not sure.

Post "Blue Skies" Storylines: Adrien and Felix
Just a rough idea of how the storylines and characters would continue after "The Blue Skies and Your Eyes". If you haven't finished it yet, there's spoilers ahead! The full series is here.
First, we'll start with Adrien and Felix after leaving Paris and heading to London.
Adrien
Tumblr media
-> Adrien is getting the therapy he needs while in London. He's able to unpack the issues he had with his father, the grief over losing his mother, and repair his relationship with Felix (who occasionally joins him for sessions). I also imagine him getting some social skills training to supplement the therapy. He's a bit hesitant at first, but is encouraged by his Aunt so he can better understand how healthy relationships work.
-> It takes some time for him to settle into London, but once he does, he starts exploring various interests and hobbies he didn't get to before. I've written a post addressing this before, but to reiterate, I imagine him getting into tricking (combination of martial arts and gymnastics that combines kicks and flips), baking, and romance fiction. To add on to that, I also see him joining a book and/or anime club at his school, or starting one outside of it. And since he's into tricking, I think I'd just have him join a martial arts school while we're at it (a glance at the wiki says that he does karate and kung-fu, so whatever school offers one of those is where he's enrolling).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(For those who need a visual reference of what tricking looks like).
-> His friend group consists of some members of the club he joins, people he regularly tricks with, students at his martial arts school, and some normal people at school. And of course, Felix, once the two have addressed the issues between them.
-> He still keeps in touch with Nino and Kagami, and occasionally Alya too. After doing some soul searching and healing, I could see him reaching out to Marinette and Chloe as well. Adrien and Chloe repairing their relationship helps her quite a bit as she's trying to adjust to New York.
-> Admittedly, he shies away from superhero fiction. Oftentimes, he thinks back to when Miracle Queen took the ring from him, and he can get defensive about it. He's aware of his behavior, but it takes him some time to really let go of it.
-> He is still a romantic at heart, but holds off on dating until a year or so has gone by. He wishes to avoid the fumbles he made with Kagami and Maribug, so he focuses on healing and self-improvement first. His first relationship ends up being someone from his tricking circle.
-> Down the road, I eventually see him becoming a romance author. However, he takes a pen name in order to disassociate himself from the Agreste name. He may also change his name legally for this reason.
Felix
Tumblr media
-> While he does put effort into repairing his relationship with Adrien, Felix is well aware that he can never tell him about becoming the Guardian. Over time, he starts to feel a bit guilty about this, but never peeps or hints at it.
-> There were two things I thought of including for him originally in the main story, but never got to address properly: the first was another layer to why he was so hard on Alya. Initially, he was supposed to be a big fan of the Ladyblog, and even develop a small crush on Alya. However, he felt betrayed when he realized she wasn't entirely being truthful on there. The storyline would have focused on their rivalry, and him rekindling his crush on her, but letting go as she was happy with Nino.
-> The other main beat focused on why he was so interested in unraveling mysteries and secrets, which ties back to his own family history. The idea was that every male member on his father's side of the family died relatively young. This would make him concerned over his own mortality, and he would get into investigating the cause of it, since the circumstances were unusual. He would go around involving himself in situations he had no business in, simply to test his own skills.
-> Well, to tie into this new storyline, he'd balance his Guardian duties with finding the answer to this mysterious question. He refuses to admit it, but he's worried about his own mortality, if his own life will end shortly, and if so, by what means. This may cause him to take rash actions and to be called out by various people (Marinette, Luka, Fu, Adrien, etc.) It takes him some time to realize that he needs to practice self-care if he wants to prolong his life.
-> He ends up becoming a beta reader for Alya's autobiography. As they end up having to communicate a lot, I could see him developing a small crush on her, but choosing not to pursue it since she's with Nino. I think she's more observant at this point and picks up on it, but doesn't say anything.
-> You'll often find him spending time in the library doing research or studying for his Guardian duties. He earns the top grades in his class and seems to do so effortlessly. He only joins clubs if it benefits his investigations, with maybe debate team being an exception.
-> He develops a rapport with Marinette and Luka over time, as he continues his Guardian duties. He refuses to call them his friends, but it becomes pretty clear that he's fond of them.
-> In general, he's slow to make new friends. He often meets people when doing his investigations, or if his mom asks Adrien to drag him to one of his events, but they really only stand out to him if they're a person of interest.
-> One person decides to become his rival (for some reason), challenging him to various things, and often losing. When Felix declares that they aren't really friends, this person becomes really competitive... about making Felix his friend. And that's how Felix gains his confidant/sidekick.

undertale noelle
explanation under read more (be warned, its long)
hi yall!
I've had an idea floating in my head for the past few weeks, and I've finally finished the first art(s) for it ^^
here’s the previews, and I'll start explaining this au under it (I've put a lot of thought into it, so I hope yall enjoy it 😁)
[IMG=BH5]
okay, so pretty much the basis for this au is Noelle in Undertale, but I did 2 main changes; the first one is that she was born around a similar time to Chara and Asriel (like in [this old drawing|http://aminoapps.com/p/d8277i] I made a while ago), making them childhood friends, and the second change is that Shes a boss monster (which, as far as I know, there is no confirmation that only the dreemurrs are boss monsters, so I decided in this au (and as far as I'm concerned, in deltarune as well (there's a lot of reasons I came to this conclusion, but I don’t think anyone cares lol)) the holidays are boss monsters). so yeah, that's the basis of this au
so, here’s a timeline of events
Tumblr media
It's all the same as canon (and all the major dates like Chara or frisk falling are my normal headcanons, regardless of au or not) until 200X, when Dess and Noelle are born (Dess roughly like 4 or so years older). then it's all the same until sometime in 201X, when Rudy dies (I imagine that, like deltarune, he is sick. with the deaths of 2 children, he considered family and all the other stuff going on, it made his sickness far worse, causing his death).
After that, in 202X, I had the first non-Chara human fall. in my mind I consider this one justice, but it doesn't really matter at all. I just went with justice because I have Noelle's horn broken in my design, so I imagine justice shot it. anyways, the human falls, and encounters Dess and Noelle in snowdin. even though asgore, at this point, as declared war on humanity because of Chara and Asriel's death, the holiday sisters had known a human for years, and they saw that humanity could be good. so, Dess approached the human and, in fear, the human shot her in the soul, killing her, and shot Noelle in the antler. Noelle, seeing her sister die right in front of her, and after every other tragedy Shes gone through, sort of goes into a rage and kills the human with her ice powers, turning her eyes permanently white and cementing her hatred for humanity.
After this, Dess's dust and the humans soul and corpse were found, but Noelle had run off into the woods, because the little rational part of her mind didn't want to hurt any of the towns people. She stayed there for a while, calming down as much as possible, before she returned home (side note, her mother is the mayor of snowdin here; not that important, but I thought I'd mention it) eventually.
from Dess's death on, Noelle had 3 purposes in her heart. to practice her magic so she could eliminate any humans she encountered ever again, and, when the monsters eventually became free, she would be able to fight in the war and prevent the humans from ever hurting the monsters again. and the last purpose? to see the stars. Dess had loved the stars (in theory) and had always wanted to see them, so Noelle knew she wouldn't give up until Noelle had seen the stars for Dess.
at this point, she waits until she's an adult, and the moves out to live in the woods, so she can practice magic without the fear of injuring any monsters, and because she's seen so many people around her die that she doesn't want to be around when more peoples she's known for years also inevitably die while she doesn't. She lives in a cottage in the woods, doing things like practicing her magic, working out, making food, reading books, sewing, and other random things like that to keep herself entertained. she originally didn't leave her house, and asgore, in his worry for her, would send her food and things, but as she got older and mellowed a bit, she would leave like roughly once a month to go buy things she needed and to meet up with asgore for tea. she would also go see her mother occasionally, but her mother was always trying to convince her to move back to snowdin and become mayor, which Noelle had no interest in doing.
Now I'll talk more about Noelle's relationships with the people in her life. She was very close to Asriel when he was alive and considered him like a sibling. and when Chara fell, she also grew quite close to them, admiring their internal strength. she was also quite close to her dad and sister before they also died, which is why she was hit so hard when all these important people in her life, who were supposed to live a very long time, died all quite close to each other.
Her relationship with her mother has always been quite complicated. even before all the tragedy happened, Noelle's mother (who I'll call carol) had considered Noelle the golden child who would take after her mayoral duties. young Noelle probably would have become the mayor if all the bad things hadn't happened, but once they did there was no way Noelle would ever want to be the mayor (being around all those people, knowing she would outlive them all sounded live a personal hell to her). and after the bad things, while Noelle still lived with carol for a few years, carol was trying to be a good mother and get Noelle to try and process all the bad things in a healthier way, rather than devoting her life to getting revenge. but Noelle was ruthless in her motivations, and she didn't really listen to anything her mother had to say. once she moved out, she didn't really speak to her mother in years, but one time when she was having tea with asgore, he mentioned how Noelle's mother wasn't getting any younger, and how Noelle should spend time with her mother, before she never has the chance to. This inspired Noelle to start talking more with her mother (maybe Noelle even has a phone at this time, so they call) and trying to let bygones be bygones. Eventually her mother does pass, but it doesn't hurt Noelle as much because she knows her mother lived a full life.
Noelle's relationship with toriel is quite complicated, so let's talk about that. When Noelle was younger, she liked toriel a lot, and was quite happy to call her family. but after Chara and Asriel died, and toriel left for the ruins, Noelle started feeling more complicated feelings for her. Noelle still tried to stay in touch with toriel, going to the ruins door and chatting through it, but one day after Dess's death, they get in an argument. Noelle thinks toriel running off to the ruins was cowardly and an awful thing to do, abandoning her kingdom in its time of need. and toriel letting the human leave the ruins, letting the human kill Dess, rather than taking the humans soul and going up to the surface and freeing the monsters was unforgivable. but toriel, who once lived on the surface and knows that humans aren't awful, refuses to kill any humans, and while she does feel awful about Dess, she couldn't have known the human would do that. both of them refuse to give in to the others beliefs, so Noelle declares her disgust for toriel and leaves the door and doesn't speak to toriel for a long time, not until the monsters are free. after the pacifist ending, Noelle and toriel start slowly reconnecting, just through hobbies and stuff, and avoiding the elephant of their fight. Eventually, they know they have to talk about it, and while they both do still agree with what they said (mostly), they agree that it's all in the past, and that there's nothing to be done now. They never become as close as they once were, but they do reconnect.
The main relationship in Noelle's life is her connection with asgore. even when she moves out, she still hangs out with him, and he is the one who built her house. They both mostly drink tea while chatting, but they both like the company. and, when Noelle gets a phone, they chat far more, just talking about their days and what they've done. I imagine Noelle had continued to talk to him the most because he had declared war on humanity, something she had greatly agreed with (she does agree with toriel on one thing though, that asgore should have taken the first soul he got and went to the surface, but she doesn't want to fight with him and lose the last connection to her old life).
and now I'm on her life after the pacifist ending. imagine her surprise when she gets a phone call from asgore saying to come to his castle, and that the barrier has been broken. She's probably in shock at this moment, knowing that this could happen any time, yet not truly believing things could ever change. She does go to new home in almost a trance, not knowing if she should dare hope. but, when she gets to asgores castle, she's greeted with the sight of the barrier being gone, and monsters leaving en masse. She also leaves and is greeted with a beautiful sky full of stars.
I have a lot of ideas of what Noelle does post pacifist, but I've already rambled way way way too much lol. I can't imagine anyone made it to the end of this mess of text, but if you did, I salute you. o7
oh yeah, I still haven't showed off my designs. whoops, I prattled on and on so much, I forgot to even show the art
so, here’s the first drawing
Tumblr media
This is the base I used for the other 3 drawings. This is just showing off her fur pattern (which is pretty much the same fur pattern I give her normally). I tried to make her super fluffy, because I imagine its quite cold in the snowdin forests, so she's adapted to have fuller, longer fur. and I tried to give her a bit of aging on her face, to show she's an adult, but it's kinda hard to see. and her horn is broken, which I mentioned above (tldr, the human who killed Dess also broke her horn)
and here’s her first outfit
Tumblr media
the outfit is based off the outfit I usually give dark world Noelle, but I got rid of the bell (I felt like it was more childish, which, there's nothing wrong with having childish things as an adult, but I wanted to show how she's matured) and I added more fur on it, for extra warmth. I also added sleeves for the same reasons. I gave her a braid in this drawing (I kinda regret that now, and wish I had changed the hairstyle, but I didn't want to change it) because I feel like Noelle probably gets bored and does her hair in different styles a lot (also why it's so long). and I gave her white streaks to show her age and because it made her feel more ice-like to me (and I made her hair fade to a lighter blonde for the same reason, and it's also a call back to an [old drawing|http://aminoapps.com/p/4g8sqw] I've made before where I also faded her hair). I imagine she wears this when she's outside in the forest.
here’s the second outfit!
Tumblr media
This one is probably my least favorite, because I just couldn't get the colors right, so I'll probably edit it some other time. This outfit was based on the outfit color scheme I gave child Noelle. like you can see in [this drawing|http://aminoapps.com/p/d8277i], I gave her a red and green sweater and a brown skirt. but in the adult drawing I gave her a brown sweater and red and green stockings (I think I'm so clever lol). The stockings were also based on the red and green leg warmers I normally give her in her light world form too. I imagine she wears this outfit in her house, because it's not as cold in there so she doesn't have to layer as much
and here’s her final outfit (for now, at least. if people like this au I might do more 🤪)
Tumblr media
for this one, I just gave her the actual dark world dress she had in-game. but in Undertale I like to think she put some magic on it that makes it cooling, so when she goes to other parts of the underground, she isn't super hot. I gave her an ice antler, mostly because I thought it looked cool, and because having a normal silhouette (from a distance) might make her seem less odd, so she can get around without being bothered. I gave her curly hair, like I used to do in most of my drawings (but I don't do as much) as a callback!
also, I totally forgot to include a ring in any of these drawings, but I meant to give her some soo-
Well yeah, that's all I've got for now!
if you've made it this far, have a cookie 🍪
and have a great day ^^
(this is 2k+ words long-)

got inspired by this prompt by @gingerly-writing and now i've got a new favorite duo to think about (and draw eheh)
nothing like some supervillain/journalist writing
-----------
The sun was barely staring to rise, people were beginning to leave their homes for work, and Clement Thyme found himself power walking down the pathways to his workplace. He had a deadline to make and if he didn't get there early, he wouldn't be able to rush to finish the article before everyone else got there. He hadn't exactly slept or eaten anything, but he'd find time for that later! Maybe... Probably not.
There was just a shortcut through here, and...
"Hello there, dear."
Clement skidded to a halt and took a few steps back. Shit. Of course they'd be here. He took a deep breath and let out a sigh. Maybe he could get them to leave so he could continue on with his day.
"Please, please, leave me alone." It was a back alley and too late at night to gel with the journalist's rocky 6am start. The single streetlamp in the area spotlit the city's most dangerous supervillain, Alvah. Inconveniently, there was no one else here to help him get out of this situation. Great. Just great.
"Now, why would I do that?" Alvah was already closer to Clement than he wanted them to be, and they were circling around him like a hawk.
"It's early. I'm too tired for this. I know you never slip up on anything that might even slightly count as a scoop, but it stopped being a thrill to see you six months ago," he bluntly responded, "I don't know who the big main hero is under the mask, where she lives, who her family is, or anything about her. It's all just theories and speculation by everyone else that I'm asked to write down for the blog."
"But everything you write is so... Detailed," Alvah commented. They practically towered over him, and the way they were eyeballing him was making him more nervous by the second. "I'd say you're quite the little detective for someone who simply writes down "theories and speculation" for the news."
"Okay. Fine. I do look further into the details, but they're still just theories," he sighed and dragged a hand through his unwashed hair, wincing at the amount of grease that was trapped in it, "Look– if you're here to kidnap me, could you at least knock me out? I'd hopefully have reasonable grounds to miss my deadline that way. Could actually get some rest for once."
Alvah stepped away, looking surprisingly mortified. At least, if it was actually genuine. It was always hard to tell. "I didn't realize you weren't enjoying these little games. My apologies, dear. It's hard to remember that people aren't pawns when the whole world looks like one big chess game." They paused, then held out a hand with an apologetic smile. "Please, allow me to kidnap you to a comfortable bed so you can sleep in peace. As recompense."
Despite his exhaustion, Clement raised an eyebrow. Usually supervillains didn't care much about bystanders and innocents. Or really anyone that wasn't their ally. Not without some sort of ulterior motive. "Alright. What's the catch?"
Alvah's apologetic smile turned into a mischevious grin. "Oh, I do love when the humans know they're being manipulated. Makes it all the more interesting."
"It's not that hard to figure ou– Wait..." Clement stopped to think about what they had just said. "... "humans?" What does... Are you not–"
The journalist let out a yelp of surprise as he was swept off his feet and into Alvah's arms without so much as a single response to his query. Great. He really was being kidnapped this time. No heroes around to scare them off from doing so either!
"What? No knocking me out with magic powder or a solid hit?"
"I'd never lay a hand on you, dear," the supervillain purred, "Afterall, you are my favorite little journalist."
"Your... Favorite?" Clement's face turned red. He always assumed they just wanted information from him with how often they'd bother him... That would still be the case, right?
Alvah chuckled, which caused the journalist to try and cover his face with his jacket. This was not going how he expected it would have. If his coworkers ever found out, he'd never hear the end of it.
Hopefully this was good enough of a reason to miss his deadline...

When reading a book, have you :
a. Finish a book, even when you dislike the mc until the end but love the story (What book?)
b. Finish a book, even when you dislike the story but love the mc (what book?)
c.Finish a book, even when you dislike the mc and story but love the worldbuilding (what book?)
d. Finish a book, even when you dislike the mc, story, worldbuilding but still finish it for whatever reason (what book?)
Since it's the internet, I feel compelled to put up a disclaimer for this kind of question first before answering:
"Whatever answer I'm gonna put down here is solely my personal opinion. If I happen to dislike something you like, it doesn't mean I'm badmouthing your favorites; we just happen to have different preferences. I'm not going to entertain any questions or statements through whatever channels that are criticizing me for liking or not liking certain things. Thank you for your understanding."
Now, with that already out of the way...
a. Harry Potter. I think this is caused by my age when I first knew about it, and my age when I actually read the original book.
I got into HP through the first movie, which was in 2001, so I was in 3rd or 4th grade at the time, and I kept following the movies until the final one in 2011. I've always loved fantasy stories because I grew up reading a lot of fairy tales, so it wasn't hard for me to instantly fell in love with HP.
That said, I didn't have the money to buy the book back then. I was able to purchase the books much later when I was almost 30 years old. When I read it, I actually didn't like the main character (and some other characters) that much, even though I didn't have that problem at all when following the movies in the past. Later, I realized it's because I could no longer relate to a lot of the characters' emotions and logics because the books are originally meant for young audience and I was simply too old to relate to the characters at this age. 😂
b. I couldn't come up with any titles even though I'm pretty sure there must be at least one or two. I'm the kind of person who "characters > story" so even though the story may not be as good, as long as I like the characters, I usually would still be able to enjoy it until the end.
c. TGCF. Rather than dislike, I think I probably went into it with too much expectation in my head that when it's not like what I imagined it to be, the entire experience ends up feeling underwhelming.
I've read SVSS and MDZS, and I love both of them. So when I saw a lot of people hyping up TGCF, I imagined it would be more "WOAH" than the first two, especially because I also got art-baited by STARember's manhua illustrations. That said, I do like several characters other than the main characters (I ship FengQing and QuanYin) and I always love MXTX's worldbuilding since they're so vivid and amazing to explore.
(And if I have extra money this year, I'm still gonna complete my San Lang cosplay because I've already cosplayed Luo Binghe and Lan Wangji, and my OCD definitely isn't gonna let me leave out the last one, lmao).
d. Guardian/Zhen Hun by Priest.
Ironically, Priest is my favorite danmei author but even though a lot of my favorite danmei are written by her, the danmei I don't like the most is also hers. 😂
I really don't know if it's because the fan-translation I read wasn't pretty clear in translating the stories or not (I mean, I can't complain about it since I'm reading for free), but I just can't bring myself to like any of it, the story, the characters, the world, until the final page.
The reason why I finished it is because I don't want to to jump to early conclusions before actually reading the whole thing. Unfortunately, my impression of it does not improve even after finishing the story.

Rant
Hey,
I guess this is a rant I've been building up in me for some time. You don't have to read it of course. I'm sorry if you do…
I don't expect someone to respond or even read this, but I just need to get this off my chest.
I'm a 24 year old student from Poland and I'm thinking about dropping out from my third year.
There are many reasons for that but I believe that the most important one is my depression. I feel no motivation for studying, neither do I believe in myself being capable of finishing college. My poor health has already caused me to miss classes and catching up with everything tires me out even more. I also mostly hide from my family and close ones how bad my depression is. They know that last year I was attending therapy and that I stopped because I had to move to my family's home. However, they don't know that during this therapy there was barely any progress made and it got much worse since. Everyday I feel like I'm slipping deeper into a hole that I'm digging myself with my lack of action. I'm losing interest in things I enjoyed, sometimes I drive away my friends, and amongst other things I also developed eating and sleeping problems. Anxiety and lack of communication skills also has been a big problem of mine, which also seems to be at its worst point yet. Worst thing is that it feels deserved. My low self esteem and feeling of self worth (or rather lack thereof) are also a problem. Main reason I haven talked with my close ones about it, is that I don't feel like I'm worth their attention, support or stress and nerves I may cause. And it's not that I think they would turn their backs at me or something. They always showed me support in times of need and with the problems I talked about with them.
I'm scared of being a bother and heavy weight when they have their own problems, especially when I often see my problems as entirely my faults. I don't believe I can continue living like this, not to mention continuing college in this state. I guess I just want to hear from someone that even if they disagree with my choices, or see them as mistakes, they can still understand where I'm coming from, say that it's not the end of the world, that I still will be able to makes things right in the future, and say that it's not making me any less of a human being.

Imposter Syndrome [Leo x Reader]
Tumblr media
Requested by Anonymous ‼️
Leo shuffled into his apartment, almost completely defeated. Today had been rough, this whole week had been one thing after the next, and every day seemed worse and worse. From being outmuscled, outthought, out sped... It was a matter of luck Leo wasn't out of a job.
No matter what Klaus said, everything felt like a fluke. Just a bunch of random things happened and he just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Everyone else in Libra had a role, a purpose. Except him, at least that's how it felt.
Klaus; be strong, hit things hard, seal blood breeds. Steven; freeze everything the eye can see, code around anyone that dares to cause trouble, and deliver icy glares to keep everyone in line. Chain, Zapp, Zed, Sonic, Dog and Deldro, even you had your part to play in Libra. But Leo? He felt his only job was to get thrown around like a football.
He should have felt better, sitting next to you on the bed. He should be able to push these feelings down. But they kept nagging at him, threatening to burst right out. Compounding with his worst fears, especially that you'd leave. You'd see him for the weak, useless fraud that he is and then you'd be gone.
Feeling his head being poked backward, Leo waved his arms for stability.
"You seem... distracted." You said, "Everything okay?"
That was all it took, a little genuine concern...
"Honestly? No." Leo stared down at his hands, "I know you'll tell me that I'm wrong about all this but... I've just, I've been feeling like I'm useless around the office."
Despite the pause, you merely tilted your head at Leo. Knowing that he often dealt with Zapp calling him names, with all the things people told him about his eyes, the weight of what happened to him and his sister, even the mere fact that he often was sitting on the sidelines. You knew what Leo went through on a daily basis, that it was only a matter of time before he would have to vent.
And listening was your specialty.
"It's just!" Leo couldn't help but stand abruptly, "Everyone else has something they do. And I'm just there. Why was even allowed in Libra if all I was gonna do was stand around watching everything!? I should be able to do more than this but I... I'm!"
Leo sat with a defeated sigh, "Every time I think I have even a little bit of something to do... It's always because of my eyes. And I get that was the main reason Klaus hired me in the first place, but... I feel like I could be giving so much more."
You just sat there, milling over what to say. Letting Leo get as much of this off his chest as possible. His hand swept his hair back, before the brown fluff just settled back into its natural, messy look.
"I just... I'm tired of being so much weaker than everyone else." Leo laid back on the bed, arms spread out, "It feels like no matter what I do, I'll always be stuck here. Michella lost her sight because of me. When I joined Libra, Klaus got seriously injured on my behalf. And ever since, I've barely been more help than a fancy telescope. Or maybe a really fancy camera, if you wanna get technical."
This time Leo really was finished talking. His inner turmoil didn't seem as important now that he said it all out loud. Maybe he should have kept quiet and pretended to be okay. He shouldn't burden you with--
"I don't see it that way at all." You broke the stretching silence, "Sure, you aren't physically strong, but that doesn't really matter much."
Leo sat up, frowning, "Our job is literally saving the world at a moment's notice [Name]. No offence, but I should be physically strong for that kind of thing."
"But you didn't save Will by hitting him hard." You turned, "You did that by talking to him, or was it to his sister? I don't fully remember how that went down..."
"It was kinda both..." Leo admitted sheepishly, "And it wasn't like I did anything special. Anyone could have--"
"No, it was special." You cutting anyone off? Was Leo dreaming? "You had a friendship with them after all. It was something only a good friend could have done. Believe me, Klaus would have definitely tried talking first. And you see how well that worked for him."
He looked away a little, scratching the back of his head.
"And I doubt Michella thinks you've failed her at all." You continued, "She knows she can rely on you to know right from wrong. She knows you'll always do what you think is the right thing to do and given your gut instincts... it's usually the best thing to do."
Leo felt like his head was spinning, in a good way. You rarely talked so much, let alone bringing up things like morality and such.
You focused on your hands, finding it easier to talk toward them instead, "Besides, it's not like you're completely useless around the office. You're really good at making friends, and making people feel welcomed or seen. In a good way. You kinda just have a certain... charm? air? thing about you that even someone like me can just exist and not feel judged or have any sort of expectation outside of being friends."
A slight pause, "Though I guess that kinda went a little further than just friends in my case. But its not like that's it either."
"[Name]..."
"I mean, who else in the office can really see a set of blueprints and notice the pattern was from a movie? You have a lot of niche talents that don't always shine through right away. I mean, you were the only one small enough to pilot that tiny helicopter. Even Chain was having problems. And she can phase through stuff!"
You stopped, not sure where all you were really going with this. Until Leo rested his hand over yours.
"You're a lot cooler than you think Leo." You finally looked back up at him, "And a lot more needed. Even if no one else can see it, even if you can't see it yourself. I always see just how amazing you are."
