quick little seperate post about something i mentioned in my ttpd thoughts: I mean this is the most neutral way possible because getting inspired by the culture around you is the most normal thing in the world, but a lot of ttpd feels like you put the dark acedemia ethel cain florence and the machine coquette industrial complex in a blender. which does not make the end product less raw emotionally, but does add a layer of artifice that makes the finished product feel perhaps inauthentic.

Uh... Taylor doesn't think very highly of most men or even just most people's masculinity be they male or female or some kind of non-binary, she mocked both men and masculinity in The Man MV and even used both to insult DA for being predatory towards women by making a reference to a date DA did something outright abusive to her in the scene where all those men with Tyler are pawing at that one woman like a piece of meat and throwing money at her. The Man MV is about *hating* most men/masculinity

Eh no…the Man is about the patriarchy and toxic masculinity. She doesn’t hate masculinity. The music video is a critique of the system that allows toxic masculinity, male privilege and straight cis white men in general to thrive at the expense of everyone else. It points out double standards and how if she was on the other side of those standards she would be on top of the game. She doesn’t hate (most) men she hates the society that most men benefit from.

Don’t hate the player hate the game… that gives certain players an advantage.
