TBB spoilers

if CX2 is Tech, there is a ton of significance from this episode.

that would be Tech destroying his ship. the Marauder that he spent so much time working on, piloting; he would be the one to destroy it, wounding Wrecker in the process.

Tech would be the one capturing Omega, stealing her away from their family, and willingly giving her to the Empire. Tech would be the one to shoot down the ship that Hunter attempted to hijack; that could have killed his brother. in an earlier episode, Tech would have been the one to (attempt to) kill Crosshair by drowning.

if that is Tech, our Tech is no longer there. it’s most likely just his body, with all of his memories wiped. if that is Tech, this will be the final nail to display how corrupt the Empire truly is; not to mention the Empire trafficking and experimenting on children.

if CX2 is Tech, we win.

if CX2 is Tech, we’ll lose even greater. (not bc of bad writing. bc of pain)

"The day I hatched, I could've fit in the palm of your hand. Wouldn't even open my eyes at first, he tells me. Says it took a week before I started crawling for food.

Any normal cavern would have culled me on sight, caste and bloodline be damned."

"But my father doesn't run a normal cavern.

I don't know what the defect was. I couldn't tell you what fixed it, whether it was a matter of genetics or Redivi nurturing it out, but whatever the reason... I was lucky. Before long, I caught up with my peers and then some."

"I became a general. An emperor. Looking at me today, you'd never know I came from a dud egg."

"But I knew.

And I was terrified I'd pass it on.

We're a legacy bloodline, you know. About as old as the species itself, with a reputation earned and maintained for centuries. And here I was, a troll that shouldn't have lived. Imperfect.

I feared two things. The first, that I'd ruin the Pravus name, be the weak link that ended us. The second... That any kid I made would suffer the kind of rejection I so narrowly escaped."

"And I got it in my head that I needed to be involved. That it was my responsibility to fix whatever flaw they'd get from me.

When Kiyana hatched, I knew she'd be fine. She was strong, healthy, intelligent. I was relieved to know I wouldn't ruin any grub I touched, but the biggest concern still remained.

What would mine be like?

And then...

Then came Mallum."

"And he was everything I could have hoped for.

Maybe it was the Drakon in him, or maybe I was just an isolated fluke, but he... He was perfect. Large, energetic, curious..."

> The Marauder's voice catches slightly.

"That boy stole my heart the moment I laid eyes on him."

"And it should have been enough... Should have laid those fears to rest, enough to set him loose and let him live the normal life I wasn't fit for.

But my fears don't rest easy. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with him. Something I couldn't yet see. I wanted to be sure.

Or... Maybe that was just the lie I told myself.

Maybe I just couldn't stand the thought that he'd become something great, not because, but in spite of me.

Doesn't really matter, in the end. Above all of that... I raised him because he was something incredible."

This shot though.

This whole episode (this whole season) has been setting up the story beats for a Homeward Journey trope, except in this case our protagonists' homes are each other.

I think we all anticipated a half-season of near misses and obstacles; each duo hopping from planet to plant, edging closer together then further apart as the Empire tightened its net around them.

But nope.

Omega manages to send her brothers one signal, and by the time she drops out of hyperspace they're already waiting for her. A single warm light on a desolate moon. Door open in welcome. Safety. Home.

I have some issues with how the actual reunion played out, but this damn shot hit me in the solar plexus. The way they took the time to linger on it. The soft, peaceful score. What a perfectly executed moment.

i had the MOST vivid dream and now i’m documenting it so i don’t forget it

so i was with the Bad Batch, and i feel like i knew that i wasn’t awake the entire time, and was actively/consciously able to keep myself asleep. initially i was with Echo, and i had this previous knowledge sorta that he just saved me during a mission (the mission involved Tatooine, we were running from Gamorreans, and i couldn’t cross 2 ladders, and Echo helped and saved me).

we were standing in the Marauder, with the rest of the batch in another part of the ship. Echo and i were talking for a long time. i kept hugging him and holding his hand, and he kept chuckling and hugging me back. i could tell he felt awkward at first but he completely melted into it eventually 🥲 and we were talking about a lot. one thing i remember is that he ended up telling me bits of Skako Minor. he told me that it took him a long time to adjust afterwards, and initially he didn’t feel loved. but over time he started to feel more complete. i nodded and listened and would hug and hold him. (it’s actually crazy because i’ve never had a dream so vivid like that, and i remember being able to open my eyes while hugging him, and turning to look at the back of his head and still remembering the texture of his skin.)

so anyways. i felt like i was there for a few days. at one point, Crosshair accidentally walked up to me (he didn’t know where i was on the ship). he’s also been avoiding me because it’s Cross. but he looked me up and down and was getting ready to leave, but i stopped him and tried to talk to him. and he looked at me SO judgmentally i swear 💀 but at one point he kinda sighed, and then asked if i wanted to be involved in a prank towards Hunter. i said absolutely. i don’t remember the prank, but it had something to do with Gonky. before we could execute the prank, i realized that it might be late in the day, and i knew i had class later, so i made myself wake up 😔
