I'm trying to get through the 3rd Tart event (End of a Legend, Limits of Light) and man. I gotta say it: the Tart events are a massive slog to get through.
What I really don't understand is why did they make the choice to write the Tart events as convoluted retellings of the manga? I've already read the manga. I own my own copies. I'd rather reread that with it's neat art than see the same thing in limited live2d shots that are slowly saying the same things over and over.
It doesn't help that they also tend to be massive behemoths. An hour-long recap of the manga wouldn't be so bad, but it's pushing my attention span at three hours.
This next opinion might be controversial but... it would help I think if the Tart girls themselves didn't feel so bland. I'm not saying that they are bad characters or that people shouldn't like them, but personally I don't get too much out of them. I think the two I like the most would probably be Corbeau and Elisa, but even they don't save the events-- they get a few moments and when you're only enjoying six minutes out of three hours of content... yeah you get me.
I DID enjoy "The Masked Student Council Strikes Back" because that shit was fucking hilarious, and also yet again the writers choose the most convoluted storylines they could possibly come up with. It's like they write down a bunch of ideas on a sheet of paper, cut it up, toss it in a bin, take them back out and then rearrange everything until it's a complete mess and then they're like "alright let's make a mcfuckin story out of this" and somehow it works????
Anyways that's my rant as I go back into watching this event. weeping sounds. sobs.

I need to write something ffs
A funnyman's recap of Blue Archive
Volume 1 Chapter 1
The archiving system of this game's story can be confusing, but you end up rolling with it at some point.
Anyhow, we begin this first actual storyline of the game by Sensei accepting a plea for help from a smaller school.
Turns out Abydos Academy used to be the largest school before desertification ate most of the land belonging to it, resulting in attempts at disaster relief eating through funds. This got the school in deep shit with loan sharks...
And this is basically why that school only has 5 students remaining.
What the fuck.
But Sensei is undaunted and goes there on his own!
Except the district is still large as hell, so they end up lost and dehydrated after three hours. Considering it's a desert district...
But yeah, Sensei then gets found by a student who winds up taking them piggyback to Abydos Academy, where we meet the Foreclosure Task Force, aka the five last students of Abydos.
Now, I will have the cliffnotes less detailed here BC certain details will be mentioned as I go along this story.
Tumblr media
Sunaookami Shiroko
Very sporty
The one to take Sensei all the way to Abydos on her back
Wears a Sig SSG 556 "White Fang 465"
Rarely emotes
Has a fucking combat drone

Tumblr media
Kuromi Serika

Okusora Ayane

Treasurer of FTF
The one holding the Braincell
Flips the table when she reaches her limit
Compared to her, everyone acts like a nutcase (slight exaggeration)

Tumblr media
Takanashi Hoshino
Perma eepy
Talks like an old man
Has a foldable riot shield
Seeming bing chilling, actually worrywart
Loves marine life, like whales
Head of the FTF and acting student council prez
Beretta 1301 Tactical "Eye of Horus" (guess what god she is)
These are the last members of their school, and they are up shits creek without a paddle. Under siege by delinquents and over 900 Million Yen (about 9 Million Dollars) in debt and with almost no way to earn money, plus the interest rate, things are dire.
At least the siege can be solved by Sensei ordering some ammo for all and coordinating a counteroffensive. The debt, not so much.
Turns out Abydos went ignored by the GSC for some reason (politics, probs) and Sensei is their first ray of hope in a while.
Sorta. We later learn that Nonomi is so motherfucking rich that she has a credit card with no known upper limit and could wipe the debt out in a swipe. However, principle of the thing, so no do that.
Bit dumb, considering, but they get by... barely.
So their next course of action to get some money is to find out about jobs in their area. Serika winds up falling for a pyramid scheme, so we all band together to fuck these fraudsters up.
Next suggestion: rob a bank!
Shiroko seems to be a big fan of Payday, enough so that her hobby is planning bank heists. Of course they need masks and a plan and new identities of this.
The name "Masked Swimsuit Gang" ends up sticking. (They don't even wear swimsuits here)
However, before then, a new threat arises! The loan sharks are a subsidy of Kaiser Corporation, the biggest corp in Kivotos and all-around assholes. The head twat hires a certain agency to ensure Abydos' demise and securing what remains of the land the last Prez sold off for loans.
They are Problem Solver 68 and they are....
A bunch of misfits
Tumblr media
Onikata Kayoko
Listens to death metal
Loves cats
The one with the brain
H&K P30L with Silencer "Demon's Roar"
Very level headed
Actual sweetheart
Tumblr media
Asagi Mutsuki
Nicknamed "The Imp"
Kind of kusogaki
Mischievous, likes pranking people
Will kill for the people she likes
Pranks the people she likes a lot
Her and her new year's alt has some of the most questionable Live2Ds
MG5 "Trick or Trick"
Tumblr media
Igusa Haruka
The kind of girl you just want to swaddle in a blanket and protect her from all harm
Went through horrible bullying in middle school
Nonexistent self esteem
Described to have a dangerous mind
Grows weeds because she associates with them
FABARM SDASS Tactical "Blow Away"
Who did this to her I just wanna talk-
Tumblr media
Rikuhachima Aru
That one Blue Archive song, "Unwelcome School", is heavily associated with her
You see her and think "badass"
Haruka thinks so; Aru put a stop to the bullying
However: she is a GIGANTIC FUCKING DORK
She does not recognise the Abydos students when they're wearing just a mask
Loves to act cool, panicking inside
She founded her part timer agency because she wanted to be a outlaw
Her schemes fly by the seat of her pants
She is a complete lovable idiot
PSG-1 "Wine Red Admire"
Naturally, problem solver 68 ends up befriending their apparent targets (they didn't know at the time) while out eating at a ramen shop Serika works at. All of that before they go and attack the school and fail to defeat the FTF because Sensei magic.
Aru panics and regroups and then meets the girls again! While they're in masks and on their way to rob a black market bank because if has the money they paid as interest to fuck shit loans.
Everyone but Aru recognises them, who thinks they're so god damn cool for robbing a bank.
It's unfortunate that PS69- sorry, 68 gets outta dodge because asshole McGee is assmad they failed to put the screws on Abydos.
Sensei offers help, but has to be kindly refused. Don't worry, this lovable moron and her unstoppable crew of one punk chick, one imp and one High-powered depression-run bomb builder of a school girl terrorist will be back
And, yes, that one is Haruka, who winds up blowing up the Ramen store because she thought it would help Aru.
Help this girl.
Back to story: FTF can't take the money home because it wouldn't be okay, so they leave the bag with blown-up ramen shop owner (he's okay, just a little singed).
Suddenly, invasion! Not by Kaiser Corp, but by Gehenna Academy, one of the big three! They wanna learn what the fuck is up for reasons. This time, I'll write what happens with each of the featured characters in the bullet notes because that is their only appearance in the story.
Tumblr media
Shiromi Iori
Sporty, think Track and Field
Member of the Prefect Team
Very much for law and order
Hunts down troublemakers
Hot headed, spearheads the assault to Abydos and gets her cheeks clapped for it
One of the very few students canon Sensei acts lewd towards
We talking licking her feet (????), we talking bothering her with tasks, we talking looking up her skirt
Yeah, I don't know either, but she tends to send mixed signals
During summer event: "I'm not wearing a swimsuit so you can perv on me!" Proceeds to wear the skimpiest swimsuit the age rating can allow
Karabiner 98k (the deleter rifle from back when call of duty was still young). Hers is called "Crack shot"
Aaaa it turns out only 10 pics per post! Will reblog this with continuation
Oh btw, during that fight Serika tanks a grenade from a fucking Flak. We get told she just had to "sleep it off for a day"
What. The. Fuck. Are these students

Twisted Wonderland server JPN event "Glorious Masquerade" Story 03 (1/3)
After everyone done touring around city of flower, their last destination is Topsy Turvy Event Hall square. Mozus-sensei says this festival has one of the greatest histories in the pyroxene country, and its origins are said to date back to before the first year of magic. Of course it is the famouse festival City of Flower.
Deuce did offer MC and Grim to look around this event, even Malleus and Idia also want to hangout with MC to see if there's any interesting show or tent stands to seek. Grim caught attention one of performer event using a ladder legs passing by. Like we saw it in carnival circus.
Malleus did tease Grim if he can be taller than that circus performer, Grim huffed and want MC to let him hops on MC's head. Next, they saw another tent with musical instruments. It is really light music to everyone's ears. Feels want to dance and singing.
Surprisingly, everyone shock see Royal Sword Academy students is join this festival. Along other magic school training from different country. Mozus-sensei says to them it's alright and enjoy this event a while. Azul did suggest them all to sit bench so they can learn from Mozus Trein, while Malleus and Idia want to sit next to MC. Causing Grim feel jealous if they took MC from Grim's side.
Rollo is return from his duty as student council of Noble Bell College. He would love to join Night Raven College students along MC, Grim, and Mozus-sensei. Since Grim already sat in MC's lap, Rollo sit with MC after Idia. Rollo also want to listen how Mozus-sensei knows about magic history and want to enjoy this festival too.
One of performer event, the Clown ask everyone to join "Upside Down Festival". It is the position of the participant that is upside down. At this festival, people spend their days without worrying about their titles or status. The weak become strong, and anyone can act as a king. Therefore, during the festival, everyone wears a mask.
The clown ask their favorite host puppet, to tell story of "The Gentle Bell Ringer". It is same story of original Disney "Hunchback of Notre Dame". "The Kind Bell Ringer, along with the Righteous Judge, is a familiar figure in the Pyroxene Land". And about the "Bell of Salvation", The bell ringer strikes the bell at a fixed time every day, rain or wind, and the sound of the bell echoes throughout the city. But one day, the city was dyed in crimson by that disaster.
This is caught Malleus, Azul, and Idia attention. They feel there's no info about what actually happen in City of Flower. Even Rollo can't find any documents about it. After done tell the history story, the clown is now began to invite everyone to join square dance! It's traditional to dance with scarves and tambourines at the Upside Down Festival show.
Grim suddenly use his magic to summon fireworks, everyone was surprised but feel happy like it's fiesta time. Of course Malleus join too along others to fire up fireworks. Even Mozus Trein also did use magic fireworks with them.
Rollo did told them use magic wisely even they're learning magic and has strong ability, for Malleus just enjoy the fun. Malleus did ask MC join them to this festival, suddenly Rollo whisper to MC. Telling to MC isn't magic is too dangerous? And doesn't MC feel uncomfortable if this magic is too disturbing? For MC, it doesn't matter.
Rollo surprise of MC's answers. Rollo feels like see MC is completely poisoned by the magicians around MC.

Alpha Two
Your death came sooner than most. You were an orphan that's all you were. And in your country that meant you were The Undeserving. You didn't get love or a home. No, they took you and the other orphans and experimented on them. The only problem was many died. You did to eventually. The outside world flourished while you bleed for it to be better. Finally when your body and spirit were broken. When you couldn't give no more you were tossed like the rest.
You were dying but you heard a gentle voice humming a soft melody. The masked woman said, "It's time to begin anew my child." When you awake you are in a bed. And that same masked woman is waiting for you asleep in the chair beside you.

Random-Mailbox's Favorite Sailor Moon Fics - Week 18 - High School AU
Tumblr media
This post’s theme was suggested by the wonderful @lilliebellfanfics (check out her works on AO3 and FFN (links to her profiles are in platform names) since they do not fully overlap and trust me, you don’t want to miss them!). She just started posting her Dendy AU shorts too, so definitely worth a look.
High School AU, from @floraone ’s matrix (here is the post with it for reference), is a fun way to explore the dynamics between Mamoru and Usagi in a more age appropriate setting for Anime based stories and more in line with Manga characterizations.
As always, my apologies in advance for spoiling some of these for you (Fic Titles are linked to either FFN or AO3 entries).
Wool you love me already? – @midnightdrops
The story set in an AU where Mamoru and Usagi are great friends and classmates right from the start. It starts with Usagi telling Mamoru that she would like to confess to someone she likes in their class, which is why she cannot tell him who it is. She even enlists his help in making sure the confession goes to plan. The catch? Mamoru is the one she will be confessing to.
(side note: make sure you are logged into your AO3 account to access this story, it has been locked down with all the scraping and reposting on other platforms without writers' consent)
Box of Chocolates - Chapter 3: Day 6: Alternate Universe – @kasienda
Instead of Mamoru springing going to Harvard on Usagi and just leaving, in this story he comes up with an alternate plan – he suggests Usagi joins him in the US and attends a high school near his campus, so he doesn’t have to be away from her for as long. Her parents agree to their plan as long as their conditions are met – Usagi passes all her classes for the fall semester AND gets good scores on her TOEFL exam to prove to them that she is ready.
Time After Time – @idesofnovember
In this almost sickeningly sweet multichapter, Usagi transfers to a new school part way through the school year to get better guidance in her Arts pursuits, and is introduced to the school president on her first day. He is someone she has known when she was little and was one of her best friends, however, she lost touch with him. But does he remember her and promises they had made?
Graduation - @celticreeder
When even Andrew bails on attending Darien’s graduation, Serena makes sure that the day is a special one for him, attending the ceremony and inviting him over for a celebratory dinner with her family. But what happens when Darien has to go abroad to study?
Our Secret Notebook - luna-magic-2005
Mamoru was headed to the roof to brood in peace, when he gets armful of Usagi, rushing to their art class. While quickly picking up books she dropped in their collision, she forgot her notebook. Having read it, Mamoru starts leaving notes for her inside it, passing it back-and-forth.
The Longest Trip Ever - Serenity-hime
Usagi, the girls and Mamoru are all doing one week exchange to the US, relieved to get away from fighting Youmas. Except that's where Dark Kingdom chooses to strike next. Without knowing Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask's true identities, our duo must balance secrecy with trying to save everyone.
The Golden Boy of Juuban High - @uglygreenjacket
Student council president Mamoru and Usagi have been sneaking around for months, making out all over the school. Usagi getting sick finally makes Mamoru confront his feelings, but in true anime-centric fashion he royally screws up communicating them.
That's it for today! Next week's post will cover some "Slice of Life" stories for @lilliebellfanfics!
Here are the links to the previous Tumblr posts in these series to explore more amazing works based on different themes - make sure to check them out if you haven't had a chance! (Click on title name to go to the post) - I will keep updating the list every week as new posts come up:

Agent Ace Chapter 4 || HARLEY
Rating: Teen + Word Count: 1,818 Content Warnings: None apply. Summary: In light of her conversation with Jade, Harley discovers that a rogue vigilante has recently gained notoriety for a number of violent crimes done in the aftermath of Max's disappearance. Worse still, she learns that Sophia, her sister and the Watch agent assigned to track down the vigilante, has become unresponsive in the field.
↤ PREVIOUS CHAPTER
June 21 12:38 P.M. Stahlfeld District
"Illegal vigilantism strikes again on city borders. Three nights ago, an unidentified individual set fire to the forests of Ramber Ledge Park. First responders report that the culprit remained present at the scene until the Guard arrived, and fled before they could be identified. The Watch has since confirmed that this is the same vigilante who started the fire at the Westheight Institute a month prior.
"The vigilante, who has yet to provide an alias, launched their first attack less than twenty-four hours after the Watch announced the disappearance of Max Ahn, a first-year student at the Westheight Institute. According to Watch director Darren Voss, this has introduced a theory that the fires and Ahn's disappearance are somehow connected.
"In both incidents, witnesses have described the vigilante as a hooded figure dressed in red and wearing a respirator mask. If you see anyone fitting this description, or believe someone you know could be the vigilante, notify the Watch for immediate intervention. They are to be considered armed and dangerous at all times. Further details on this investigation have yet to be released."
The radio announcement ended, and a new song began in its place. Harley sat back in her chair and turned to face her mother in the driver's seat as the strum of guitar strings filled the car.
Melissa Manalis stared ahead—keeping her eyes on the road, but also pointedly not looking at Harley. She wore a dark blue pantsuit and pearl earrings, and the tight bun at the nape of her neck added to her panache. As a member of the Harmont Council, she had a recognizable, and almost intimidating, image, but most people would be shocked to learn that Harley was her daughter. Melissa's silvery-blonde updo was a sharp contrast to Harley's thick, dark hair, and while Melissa's skin was clear and alabaster pale, Harley's was olive and freckled. Melissa had said before that Harley and Sophia took more after their father, and Harley felt inclined to agree.
"Mom," Harley began, "did you know about Max?"
For a moment, Melissa didn't respond. Harley was about to repeat the question when she nodded tersely. "I did. Sweetheart, I'm so sorry. I didn't want you to worry while you were with your uncle, and there wasn't a way to communicate what happened."
You could have sent me a letter, Harley thought, but out loud, she said, "I understand."
"Did Jade tell you?"
"Last night."
It hadn't taken long for Jade to bounce back after their discussion the previous night. Nothing ever fazed her—not for as long as Harley had known her—but still, Harley knew Max's absence must have hit her hard, and she couldn't help but worry.
"Has the Watch said anything else?" Harley asked.
"Nothing new, but they're still looking," Melissa replied. "Sophia's been working nonstop."
Harley perked up at the mention of her sister. "Is she leading the investigation."
Melissa's lips pursed into a thin line. "She hasn't told me anything, but she must be involved somehow. Ahren said she's been distant since that first fire at the Institute. They're working on restoring that lab now, but she hasn't stopped moving."
The hairs prickled on the back of Harley's neck. "That's good to hear. About the lab, anyway."
Melissa shook her head as she merged lanes. "This job has absorbed her. Your father was the same way. He was an awful communicator, and so is she."
Harley glanced back towards the window, watching the line of restaurants blur by as they drove past Stahlfeld Park. She had no response for that—or defense.
"Hey. Look at me."
Harley turned to face Melissa, who looked at her softly. Her green eyes reflected Harley's own.
"It's okay to be concerned, but the Watch hasn't given up yet," she told her. "If they're still looking for Max, they must have hope. Right?"
Harley forced a nod. "Right."
"So, try to let the worry go, alright? You just got back. Let yourself readjust."
"Yeah," Harley said, even though she knew she wouldn't be able to take that advice. "You're right."
"I'm going to visit Tae and Evelyn tomorrow morning," Melissa added. "You're welcome to come with me. I'm sure you'd be a welcome sight."
Tae and Evelyn—Max's parents. "How are they doing?"
Melissa let out a long sigh. "As well as they can. They've both put on a brave face for the rest of us, but Evelyn's a wreck. I'm sure the most recent news hasn't brought them any comfort, either."
Harley didn't reply. Unlike her own family, Max and his parents were tight-knit, and a part of her hoped that they could find solace in light of the news. The vigilante's motive was unclear, but everyone seemed to agree that their actions were tied to Max. Someone else cared enough about their son to take action into their own hands.
But even so, what did setting fires achieve? Was it a protest, or a threat?
"In any case," Melissa continued, "as much as I hate to admit it, I think it's best if we stay close to home until the Watch has more to say. This city seems to be attracting trouble lately, and I don't want you caught in the thick of it."
"What makes you think I will?"
"Nothing. Frankly, I'm more worried about your sister."
Harley raised an eyebrow. "That's surprising."
"Don't give me that." Melissa shot her a reproachful look. "All I'm saying is, if Sophia is looking for this vigilante, I don't want them to use her to hurt you."
"Mom, I'll be fine," Harley retorted. "They don't care about me. They just want to make a statement."
Melissa snorted. "Whatever statement they're trying to make, they're going about it in the worst way possible."
Harley sighed and slipped her headphones over her ears, drowning under the rhythmic beat of drums. She couldn't argue with that.
* * *
"The device works, then? I'm impressed. I wasn't sure how the signal would hold up over such a long distance, but you've done so well!"
Harley scratched the last word down on her notepad and began tapping her fingers on top of the communication orb. "It works great. But shorter sentences, please. It's a lot to translate at once."
After about a minute, Uncle Kit responded. "Sorry! I forget you're still learning."
"All good."
"Headphones work okay?"
Harley faltered. She wasn't ready to tell him about the transmission she received—not until she had time to figure it out herself. "Great. Some glitches, but mostly good."
"Makes sense. It's a new environment."
"Yeah, I'm working on it." Harley flopped backward on her mother's couch, reaching behind her to set the orb down on the end table. She flipped over onto her stomach to face it, watching as the orange light began to flicker again.
"Is something wrong?" Kit asked.
Harley grabbed the orb. "No."
A beat passed. "That was quick."
"'No' is a short word."
Harley wanted to leave it at that, but she clenched her jaw and forced herself to keep the conversation going. "I'm worried about a friend. That's all."
Pause. "I'm here to talk if you need it. Okay?"
Harley smiled, nodding even though he couldn't see her. "I know."
"Harley!" Melissa called from the other room. "Dinner!"
"Gotta go," Harley typed out rapidly. "Dinner's ready."
"Cool. What's dinner?"
"Pasta salad."
"Sounds delicious. Tell your mom to save me some."
Harley scoffed to herself. "Will do."
Setting the orb back down, she hopped off the couch and headed towards the kitchen. The pungent aroma of lemon and herbs hit her nose. "Where's Ahren?" she asked.
Melissa looked up from the salad bowl and nodded towards the front of the house. "He had to take a call. Would yu mind getting him for me?"
"Sure."
Harley made her way down the hallway and turned into the living room. Ahren's voice carried over from the front door.
"You're seriously not concerned?"
She froze. Ahren stood in front of the door, holding a phone to his ear. The expression on his face was intense, and he stood with his body pivoted away from the hallway. After a short pause, he continued to speak.
"Of course I am!" He spoke in a hushed tone, but there was a detectable edge to his voice. "I have no idea where she is. But you know all about that, don't you?"
The next pause was much longer, and Ahren's brown furrowed in anger. "I don't care what the policy is. Is Sophia in danger or not?"
Harley waited with bated breath, her feet rooted into the floorboards. Ahren glanced in her direction and let out a huff.
"You better promise me that," he muttered, almost inaudibly, then shoved his phone into his pocket and added, "Hey, there, Harley."
"Hey." She put on what she hoped was an innocent smile. "Mom told me to come get you for dinner."
"Awesome. Can't wait." He returned her smile, but in an instant, it was gone. "Alright, drop the act and be honest with me. How much of that did you hear?"
Harley shuffled her feet. "A little. Okay, most of it. Who was that? Is Sophia okay?"
"That was the Watch," Ahren said, scratching the back of his head, "and, uh, that's what I'm trying to figure out. But..."
"But what?"
"Nothing."
"It's not nothing."
"Harley." He said her name sternly, but continued in a gentler tone. "It's fine. I promise. Sophia's tough—you know that just as much as I do. But, do me a favor and promise me you won't mention this conversation to Melissa. Okay?"
Harley opened her mouth to object, but seeing Ahren's pleading look, she snapped her jaw shut and surrendered. "Okay."
His shoulders slumped. "Thank you. Seriously. Now let's go. That smells amazing."
He walked briskly past Harley, leaving her alone in the hallway. Her thoughts swirled around in her head like storm clouds, and she pressed her palms against her eyes to try and block them out. Ahren said everything was fine, but she knew that wasn't true.
Forget about it. Don't worry about it. She was tired of hearing that. It was like everyone else was in on a secret and trying to keep her in the dark. But she wanted to know—she needed to know.
What was happening in Harmont? And where was her sister?

Schools are using surveillance tech to catch students vaping (AP) When Aaliyah Iglesias was caught vaping at a Texas high school, she didn’t realize how much could be taken from her. Suddenly, the rest of her high school experience was threatened: being student council president, her role as debate team captain and walking at graduation. Even her college scholarships were at risk. She was sent to the district’s alternative school for 30 days and told she could have faced criminal charges. Like thousands of other students around the country, she was caught by surveillance equipment that schools have installed to crack down on electronic cigarettes, often without informing students. Schools nationwide have invested millions of dollars in the monitoring technology, including federal COVID-19 emergency relief money meant to help schools through the pandemic and aid students’ academic recovery.
U.S. signals it is open to withdrawing some troops from Iraq (Washington Post) Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin left the door open Thursday to reducing the U.S. military presence in Iraq, saying that meetings set to begin soon between officials from the two countries will enable a “transition to an enduring bilateral security partnership” that builds on years of joint operations against the Islamic State. Many Iraqi officials have called for the ouster of U.S. forces after a months-long cycle of violence, inflamed by the Israel-Gaza war, between Iranian-backed militias and U.S. forces. U.S. military positions in Iraq and Syria have been attacked at least 153 times since October by militant groups trained and supplied by Iran, including incidents Thursday in the northern Iraqi city of Irbil and at Ain al-Asad Air Base in the western part of the country. Iraqi officials have increasingly responded with anger when the United States has retaliated with airstrikes. The militias have tied their attacks to the war in Gaza and to U.S. support for Israel’s campaign against Hamas.
Colombia declares a disaster because of wildfires (AP) Colombia’s government declared a disaster Thursday and asked for international help to combat raging wildfires that are expected to worsen in coming days due to warm, dry conditions associated with the El Niño weather phenomenon. Officials raised the number of fires from 25 to 31, and said nine of them were under control. They did not order mandatory evacuations despite some fires burning in the mountains that surround some municipalities. President Gustavo Petro said Chile, the United States, Peru and Canada have already responded to the call for help, without specifying when the assistance will arrive to the South American country.
As terror grips the streets of Ecuador, even the armed forces live in fear (CNN) In the aftermath of gang attacks on January 9, President Daniel Noboa took an unprecedented step. He declared an “internal armed conflict” in the country and ordered Ecuador’s armed forces to “neutralize” the members of more than 20 gangs, which he labeled as terror groups. Since then, Ecuador’s national police and armed forces have been carrying out raids of homes of those with suspected ties to terror groups. Fear has permeated the ranks; even in Guayaquil’s 90-degree heat and humidity, under layers of tactical gear, they insist on putting on a ski mask before being filmed. On the front lines, while there is determination, there is also hesitation. Among the police and military tasked with conducting raids and preemptive strikes, some fear what will happen to them or their families if terrorists link them to the crackdown efforts. The crisis could drive more Ecuadorians to emigrate. Locals are tired of living in fear and being extorted for protection money, says Carlos Jimenez, an urban planner who studied in the US and is now living in his native Ecuador. “These people are in the middle of gunfights in their neighborhoods, what would you do? You’re not going to want to stay there.”
Britain says it has no plans for conscription, after top general says the UK may need a citizen army (AP) On Wednesday, Gen. Patrick Saunders, the head of the British Army, said that a British “citizen army” would be needed in a potential land war with a country like Russia. Saunders stated that, if the conflict expands, “within the next three years, it must be credible to talk of a British Army of 120,000.” He also praised countries close to Russia for preparing for such a war and “prudently laying the foundations for national mobilization.” The U.K. government immediately walked back Saunders’ talking points that same day, declaring that the country had no plans to expand its armed forces past the 74,000 full-time troops it currently supports. In a statement about Saunders’ preparation plans, Max Blain, a spokesman for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, said that “engaging in hypothetical wars” was “not helpful.”
French Farmer Protests (1440) French farmers continued protesting yesterday, blocking roads and dumping imported produce across the country, demanding government action to address numerous grievances. The protests, now in their second week, are moving toward Paris after breaking out in the southwest agricultural region. At least two people have died during the protests. France has roughly 456,000 farms and is among the EU’s highest-producing countries, with an output of over $79B. The FNSEA farming union, which is leading the protest, is demanding better protection against cheaper foreign competition, continued diesel tax breaks, immediate EU agricultural subsidy payments, guarantees on health and climate insurance payouts, and aid for winemakers and organic farmers.
The Most Important Company in the World? (NYT/Opinion) Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, or T.S.M.C., is the only corporation I can think of in history that could cause a global depression if it were forced to halt production. These days it seems impossible to have a conversation about geopolitics or economics without coming back to T.S.M.C., which makes about 90 percent of the world’s most advanced chips. If the lights went out here in Hsinchu, in the company’s ultraclean and ultrasecure buildings, you might not be able to buy a new phone, car or watch. Armies could run out of precision-guided missiles and hospitals could struggle to replace advanced X-ray and M.R.I. machines. It might be like the Covid-19 supply chain chip disruption—times 10—and T.S.M.C., unfortunately, is situated in a region where war is possible and could threaten production. “Taiwan Semiconductor is one of the best-managed companies and important companies in the world,” Warren Buffett said last year. But he sold his $4 billion stake in T.S.M.C. because, he said, “I don’t like its location.”
Australians protest British colonization on a national holiday some mark as ‘Invasion Day’ (AP) Thousands of Australians protested the anniversary of British colonization of their country with large crowds Friday urging for Australia Day to be moved and for a day of mourning on the holiday some call “Invasion Day.” The holiday marks the arrival of 11 British ships carrying convicts at Port Jackson in present-day Sydney on Jan. 26, 1788. For many activists, the day marked the beginning of a sustained period of discrimination and expulsion of Indigenous people from their land without a treaty.
Top UN court orders Israel to prevent genocide in Gaza but stops short of ordering cease-fire (AP) The United Nations’ top court on Friday ordered Israel to do all it can to prevent death, destruction and any acts of genocide in Gaza, but the panel stopped short of ordering Jerusalem to end the military offensive that has laid waste to the Palestinian enclave. In a ruling that will keep Israel under the legal lens for years to come, the court offered little other comfort to Israeli leaders in a genocide case brought by South Africa that goes to the core of one of the world’s most intractable conflicts. The court’s half-dozen orders will be difficult to achieve without some sort of cease-fire or pause in the fighting. The ruling amounted to an overwhelming rebuke of Israel’s wartime conduct and added to mounting international pressure to halt the nearly 4-month-old offensive, which has killed more than 26,000 Palestinians, decimated vast swaths of Gaza and driven nearly 85% of its 2.3 million people from their homes. Allowing the accusations to stand stung the government of Israel, which was founded as a Jewish state after the Nazi slaughter of 6 million Jews during World War II.
Israel is building a buffer zone along the Gaza border, risking a new rift with the U.S. (WSJ) To Israeli officials, the 1-kilometer-wide area is a critical security measure in their plan to demilitarize Gaza and assure Israelis that they can return safely to the border communities that were evacuated after Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack. It would create a clear field of fire so Israeli troops can see and stop anyone approaching the frontier. The U.S. warns that turning the border along the 25-mile-long Gaza Strip into a no man’s land would deepen Palestinian fears that Israel intends to occupy all or part of the crowded enclave and would make it harder to persuade Arab governments to help rebuild a postwar Gaza. Meanwhile, Washington is pressing for a deal for the 100-plus hostages Hamas is holding in Gaza, as Israel and Qatar, one of the main Middle East mediators, spar.
Gaza’s daily struggle for food (Washington Post) The Washington Post spoke to six families across Gaza about their daily struggle for food. Ninety-three percent of people there face “crisis levels of hunger,” according to a U.N.-backed international consortium. Each day, for four days, Mohammad waited in line for a few pounds of flour. Returning home empty-handed to his five children, pained by hunger and humiliation, he ground up animal feed to bake over a makeshift stove. “We don’t know how dangerous eating animal feed is to our health, but we have no other options,” the 40-year-old said by phone from Gaza’s north.
Who bombed us today? (Daraj/Lebanon) Syria was already a nation torn apart by conflict, foreign and domestic. But lately, it appears more and more like a country that everyone feels at liberty to bomb—with different pretexts and for different reasons. Military bases in Syria that house U.S. forces were repeatedly attacked by explosives-laden drones and with missiles by Iran-backed militias. The U.S. military has responded with strikes on militias in both Syria and neighboring Iraq. Turkey, meanwhile, has continued to launch attacks on Kurdish-held areas in northeastern Syria, and has hit areas controlled by the Syrian regime in and around the city of Qamishli on January 14. Israel and the U.S. have repeatedly bombed sites and targets linked to Iran, Hezbollah and the Syrian regime. Jordan has become the latest to launch strikes on targets inside Syria, because the pace of drug smuggling from Syria to Jordan has increased. The strikes are part of multiple wars being waged on Syrian territories, involving many state and non-state actors. These wars have made Syria a country whose sovereignty is violated by many countries, with no end to such violations in sight.
Nones (Pew Research Center) When Americans are asked to check a box indicating their religious affiliation, 28% now check ‘none.’ A new study from Pew Research finds that the religiously unaffiliated—a group comprised of atheists, agnostic and those who say their religion is “nothing in particular”—is now the largest cohort in the U.S. They’re more prevalent among American adults than Catholics (23%) or evangelical Protestants (24%). Back in 2007, Nones made up just 16% of Americans, but Pew’s new survey of more than 3,300 U.S. adults shows that number has now risen dramatically. Researchers refer to this group as the “Nones.”

The Young and Pretty Queen
Single Effect: Attack Up [20%] & Poison on Attack [20%] (3 Turns)
MLB Effect: Attack Up [25%] & Poison on Attack [25%] (3 Turns)
Effect Definitions:
Attack Up will increase the equipped character’s base stats, meaning that its effected is calculated before buffs/debuffs are considered. It’s generally considered superior to Damage Up/Damage Inflicted Up, however, because there are so many sources of Attack Up in the game it can be easy to hit the cap of 100%.
Poison is a Status Ailment that will damage the afflicted target for 5% HP per turn. Poison chance can stack. Note that damaging Status Ailments have a stacked maximum of inflicting 10,000 HP done per turn.
TLDR: “The Young and Pretty Queen” is Whale-Tier, and you should be happy if you get it-- but don’t go seeking it out. For a limited memoria, that secondary effect is a bit of a letdown; luckily the Attack Up is still very good. This memoria is exclusive to the gacha for the event “The Masked Student Council Strikes Back.” This is event memoria and should be kept in case of a rerun.
Review: “The Young and Pretty Queen” is Whale-Tier. It’s not the best of the best, but it should be pretty good for Whales. However, don’t feel compelled to roll for this one either. So why is it Whale-Tier? Well, several memoria in the game will offer 25% Attack Up when Max-Awakened-- but, notably, only three of these will are unlimited.
(Limited 4*) “Great Success in the Longed for Land” Attack Up [25%] & Bind on Attack [20%] (1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) “Still Far From a Starry Night...” Attack Up [25%] & Accele MP Gain Up [15%]
(Limited 4*) “Miracle Heroines” Attack Up [25%] & Magia Damage Up [12.5%]
(Limited 4*) “Kyubey Knight Breaking Through” Attack Up [25%] & Charged Attack Damage Up [15%]
(Limited 4*) “Dive into Summer (Tsukuyo/Tsukasa)” Attack Up [25%]
(4*) “To Grace with Aster” Attack Up [25%] & Charged Attack Damage Up [15%]
(4*) “Everyday Overflowing with Pride” Attack Up [25%] & Defense Up [37.5%]
(4*) “Feigning Innocence School Time” Attack Up [25%] & Anti-Stun [100%]
Unless you’re lucky or a Whale who’s spent some money, it’s unlikely that you’ll have one of these max-awakened. Notably, most of these memoria will give 20% Attack Up when they aren’t max awakened. This is equivalent to memoria like “I Made Friends!” or “Iroha of the Midsummer Beach”-- in fact, you know what, here’s just another long list:
(Limited 4*) “Born Amidst Light” Attack Up [20%] & Anti-Evade [85%]
(Limited 4*) “Iroha of the Midsummer Beach” Attack Up [ 20%] & MP Gain Up [12.5%]
(Limited 4*) “Miko Sisters Dance” Attack Up [20%] & Damage Cut [15%] & Regenerate HP [4%]
(Limited 4*) “The Sword Which Strikes in the Space Between Light and Dark” Attack Up [20%] & Attack Up While At Max Health [25%]
(4*) “I Made Friends!” Attack Up [20%] & Critical Hit [25%]
(4*) “A Longing for the Beyond” Attack Up [20%] & Status Ailment Resistance Up [30%]
(4*) “Cause I'm an Idol and a Magical Girl” Attack Up [20%] & Anti-Fog [100%]
(4*) “The Happiest Moment in Human Life” Attack Up [20%] & Attack Up While At Max Health [25%]
(Limited 3*) “Usual Day of the Maidens” Attack Up [20%] & Anti-Magia Seal [100%]
(3*) “Maiden's Secret Etiquette” Attack Up [20%] & Defense Down [25%]
So, another way to think of this is that a single copy of “The Young and Pretty Queen” will have the same amount of Attack Up as a max-awakened copy of “I Made Friends.”
But does that mean you should feel compelled to roll for it? Ehh, not really. You still have three unlimited memoria you can possibly get in other rolls, and those three memoria (“Everyday Overflowing with Pride,” “To Grace with Aster,” “Feigning Innocence School Time”) are going to be more helpful to you than “The Young and Pretty Queen” likely would be. This is due to their secondary effects-- the effect of 25% Poison on Attack isn’t terrible, it’s just not amazing either.
The fact that it lasts for three turns means that you can have time to utilize effects like “Damage Up Versus Enemies Affected with Status Ailments” to get extra damage out onto the target, but sadly Poison itself is kind of meh. It only does 5% of the target’s HP per turn, and it doesn’t increase the damage done by the afflicted target’s weak element or prevent HP Regen by the afflicted target like its two similar Status Ailments (Burn and Curse) do.
Additionally, for a limited memoria and a meh Status Ailment, you’d think that the chance of applying Poison would be higher than 25%. So far all the Passive Poison on Attack memoria give a three turn chance of applying it, so it’s not like the long amount of turns it’s active is the trade off here. “Science Drunkard” is an unlimited two-star that is 20%-- that’s the same chance you have applying Poison as you would using a single copy of “The Young and Pretty Queen.” As a limited memoria, isn’t that sort of disappointing?
Well, it’s still possible to have a higher chance that that through Spirit Enhancement or even using “Science Drunkard” itself. Status Ailments will stack, so using a character who has a passive chance of Poison on Attack (such as Hinano, Corbeau, ect) will give you an ever higher chance than normal. Even so, it feels weird to need that amount of preparation for a limited memoria.
So, the verdict? Despite all that, it’s a good memoria. You should be happy if you get it! But you shouldn’t feel the urge to seek it out either. After all, this event also gave “Usual Day of the Maidens” which gives 20% Attack Up, and you don’t need to max awaken a four-star memoria for that.
This memoria will be fine to use on Supports, especially if they have a Poison chance on attack through their Spirit Enhancement.

So what's the burning bridges au?
There's two versions: Burning Bridges and Burning Masks
(think of it as Underswap and Underfell and then Swapfell)
Burning Bridges
This is an Arcane inspired AU with the LMK Cast. Sun Wukong was sent into a deep meditational state deep inside the forest of Flower Fruit Mountain and LBD, along with several other demons from JTTW, have risen and slowly taken over the cities and lands in Sun Wukong's absence with the help of Macaque and the Demon Bull Family. Xiaotian, Xiaojiao and Nezha, along with Yin and Jin play the role of a starting a rebellion that eventually leads to them discovering where Sun Wukong might be kept with the help of Tang, Pigsy and Sandy. Zhizhu helps them find where the staff is located, somewhere in the heart of the city where LBD resides.
Red Son is Macaque's prized student and, later, Xiaotian infiltrates the council and is taken under Macaque's wing, the latter not suspecting his new student to be a spy.
Xioajiao and Nezha play the role of Vi and Jinx with some twists and turns there—Xiaojiao comes from the city and is dodging her responsibilities and following Nezha's guide to finding out where SWK is and help free him while Nezha is the one who takes the fall for Xiaotian and Xiaojiao when the Mayor and LBD's other goons come to retaliate for any rebellion acts on the surface.
Once SWK is freed, he walks with Xiaotian to the city and despite the human's panic over him not wearing a disguise, Sun Wukong tells him it's alright. They walk through one of the bustling cities and find a statue of SWK residing in the heart of it with the words "Great Sage Equal to Heaven — the Golden Cicada's Prized Pupil" written on the plaque. He hears folk speak about his grand adventures and how he left the battle unscathed all while SWK is just absentmindedly rubbing the scars on his wrists and hands.
He wanted to destroy the statue but MK pulled him away before anything could happen and guided him home.
Burning Masks
This takes the concept of Burning Bridges where SWK wears the circlet again in the form of a helmet after striking a deal with LBD ("I am the mastermind, he's my apprentice"/"You're only still alive because I made a promise") in which she makes a pact of promising not to harm any one with the mark of the Great Sage (a golden cloud symbol on their wrist) where in return Sun Wukong shall be controlled by LBD.
The Sage shakes her hand and the pact is set with LBD and Wukong gaining a "pact" symbol in their eyes (blue for Wukong and gold for LBD)—however, when she tries to get him to follow her he doesn't move. She tries again, this time threatening to use the tightening spell and Wukong simply tilts his head back.
"Careful," Wukong says, rolling his shoulders as he feels the circlet settle nicely on top of his head. "I may be leashed again, my pale lady. . . but you should never make a deal with a trickster. A god of all things."
LBD does not control Sun Wukong in the same way she controlled DBK or, say, any of her other goons; instead she controls his anger, that of which is very fickle and the one thing that's prone to send him on another murderous rampage just like the one back in Heaven.
"You wanted a guard dog but now you've got a hellhound."
This AU may also fit into post Season 2, a rewritten version of S3 if you will.
Burning Masks is more for character interactions than anything plot related; Burning Bridges is the one with the whole plot thing going on
i hope this helps!

hmmm. what to watch next? I'm really starting to run out of event videos. I might rewatch some of the NA-translated ones, just to refresh my memory...
The ones I have left to watch (that are translated) are:
End of a Legend, Limits of Light
Christmas String
Memorable Flower
The Masked Student Council that Strikes Back
...Wow is that really it? Alright.
I'm not really looking forward to the Tart event. Maybe I should get it out of the way...? I know it's not going to be bad but I also know it's going to be boring as fuck (I'm sorry Tart fans, but Tart events tend to be kinda long and repetitive for my tastes). I know that the Masked Student Council is good so I'm kinda saving it as a treat for last.
Thinking about it, I also have these left for Magical Girl Stories:
Gunhild
Valentines Sudachi
First Sunrise Shizuka
Kazumi Subaru
Touka & Nemu (Holy Night ver)
Sudachi Sawa
Rion Yuzuki
Hotori Yuzuki
Meguru Hibiki
Shizuka Tokime
Felicia-chan
And like, a billion costume stories, and most of arc 2 main story, and arc 2 another story, and also actually all of mirrors, and then the special stories, and some quote videos that I need to catch up on, and--

Because I feel a little better and need it out of my system:
A funnyman's recap of Blue Archive
Volume 1 Chapter 2
V1 is not that long, especially in comparison to the others. But hey, it was just the first volume, after all.
So, we got Hoshino resigning and everyone is bummed out about it. Sensei finds her and asks her about that.
She tells him the story of the student council president before her at Abydos, Yume. Despite all the bullshit, she tried her best and was always smiling.
Yume...isn't around anymore. As we find out later, Hoshino found her dead body between the dunes. It's Yume's riot shield she is using. To the last, Yume believed that Abydos could be saved while Hoshino grew more and more cynical about it.
The player, through a recap done by Ako and Hina, learns that Hoshino used to be a troublemaker, a firebrand. How she mellowed out so much is a mystery to them
Hoshino admits that Sensei is the first adult she ever trusted. How she didn't think they would be of any use when they first came to Abydos, because adults were useless to her, but Sensei has grown on her.
She fakes returning, but clears her position for good once Kaiser starts twisting her arm. They get really asshole about it, too, by randomly jacking up the interest rate because Abydos didn't want their deal.
This, Hoshino does end up striking a deal, only to get faked out and imprisoned, to be used in some experiment. Though not by Kaiser, but by someone else.
Tumblr media
Black Suit
Member of shadow organisation "Gematria"
Considers Sensei an equal, yet enigmatic individual
Is the first person that made me go "what the FUCK is going on behind the scenes?!"
Oddly affable, graceful even in defeat
Gets jokingly shipped with Sensei
It is through Sensei's first talk to him, in regards to Kaiser's fuck shit and Hoshinos kidnapping, that Sensei shows his adult card. A powerful item that saps Sensei's life force for immense power
It's just about the dopest description I've heard so far for a fucking credit card you use to roll the gacha
Anyway, Black suit is a fair sport and tells Sensei that Kaiser wants Abydos because of a treasure in the desert. Gematria fed them that info, so now they seek it intensely and at great cost.
Naturally, Hoshino is heavily guarded and Sensei's options are limited. So, they organise an assault with the four remaining girls and calls for aid from a certain girl.
You see, I committed a cardinal sin last time. I omitted a severe detail due to forgetfulness. You see, as the crew was scouting out Kaiser back in chapter 1 for a bank heist, they encountered someone running through the black market district. Someone very crucial to this part of the story and someone incredibly important to the further story.
Tumblr media
Ajitani Hifumi
Babbi
Look at her
Adorable
She considers herself a average girl
Collects merchandise from the kids show "Peroro Friends"
Peroro superfan, that freaky chicken is even her ex skill
Gets roped into minor shenanigans, bonds with Abydos girls
Comes in clutch with a paper bag on her head, calling herself "Faust of the Masked Swimsuit Gang"
Modified Enfield Assault Rifle "My Necessity"
Hifumi is the one Sensei contacts for help, as she has a surprising connection to one of the higher-ups at her school. Said bigwig tells Sensei in no uncertain terms that they intend to cash in on the favour they owe Trinity with this.
And then they rain down artillery on Kaiser positions.
Brilliance.
Problem Silver also gets involved, with Haruka giggling menacingly before blowing through enemy ranks and Mutsuki going feral over people annoying "glasses girl" (Ayane)
Look at these pics from the summer event. Ayane is very adorable, so I can understand Mutsuki fully.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hoshino gets freed, hope against hope, and she realises that Abydos is her home and will remain her home. Simply because those dearest to her are all there, waiting for her.
All is well that ends well, as Kaiser takes a hit, makes concessions to Abydos and the head of the Loans department flees in disgrace as the Media has a field day with all the info that got leaked.
Still, something great and terrible is on the horizon already...

Cin Drallig didn’t have Clones under his command. We know this, he wasn’t a General, he was the Battlemaster and head of the Temple Guard Security. But I propose an AU.
It starts with a small choice. After a long day of standing and doing quite literally nothing for hours on end, the Temple Guards who were on the day shift disperse into Coruscant. Technically not against the Jedi Way but going to get inebriated or just bar hopping for the fun of it— or worse, getting into the semi-illegal, underground, lower level fighting rings— wasn’t exactly something that the Jedi looked favorably upon.
But the Jedi Temple Guard get restless after standing still for so long, especially the newer Guards, and Cin pretends he doesn’t see when a group of his kids Guards come stumbling back in the early morning hours with credits won from a gambling match and wide grins.
Anyhow, like any other Jedi, the Guard do have friends among the rest of the Temple, so they know of the Clones and have obviously seen them when Jedi arrive and leave the temple with their Battalions, Companies, Platoons— you know, the usual. After a while, the Guards just... start showing up at 79s and interact with the Clones while there. Which is weird because, first of all, when dressed in civvie clothing, the Guard are practically unrecognizable as very few see their faces, but secondly these are just random Jedi coming up to Clones and buying them drinks, playing card games with them, or thanking them for their efforts on the Front.
Several ask for stories about the time on the Front because “We’re stuck on Coruscant and sure, the duty to protect the Temple is really important but we were all trained by Master Drallig beyond our own Padawan training. I’m pretty sure Master Drallig is just as restless as we are too” and they want to know about what they’re not allowed to go and see themselves. Of course, War is horrible, and more than one Guard is horrified about whats going on— especially when a certain Jedi’s battalion gets back Krell you bitc h im talking about you— and they all learn about the casualty numbers.
The Guard does talk in their free time, their masks have coms built into them— and Cin has an earpiece to keep in contact with the Guard as well. Though they seem to forget that he’s on their group link and they all start talking during shifts while they stand outside the doors or in the halls about the War and the Clones and, whoops, one of them lets it slip that they cant believe that the Clones are supposed to fight Darksiders without Lightsabers. Like sure, Blasters do damage, and certainly more than one Jedi has been gunned down ( “Rest in the Force, Master Di” is echoed through the link ) but really! Theres only so much their Armor can do for them! A lightsaber would cut through it like flimsi.
Cin, of course, startles them all by asking for confirmation that the Clones— who he had been told were all trained to be very skilled in combat— had no Saber training because remember, Cin and the Temple Guard knew very little about the Clones because they were told that “it’s not I mportant to tell you all, as you won’t be working with the Clones”
Once he has confirmation that no, the Clones didn’t have any Saber training and were expected to go up against Darksiders like Ventress and Dooku with just blasters and their bodies, he just sighs.
The next day he brings three of the Guard and also Bene with him down to the Barracks— and a shit ton of practice Sabers. And who else was there but the Clone Dad ™ we all know and love? That’s right, and guess who thinks training the Clones to use lightsabers is a great idea and “Well, now I wonder why I hadn’t thought of it first, Master Drallig”?
Plo fucking Koon.
So of course, the 104th is put through what the Padawans had called “Training Hell”— especially since the Clones don’t have years between deployments like the Initiates had before becoming padawans. The Six forms are taught, Cin brings in more of the Guard who have mastered their respective Forms and Bene has fun with the Boys ™ as well because she goes through katas with them, wipes the floor in practice duels with others, and now the Guard has to compete with the 104th (and Plo) spoiling Bene.
( ”You’re spoiling my Padawan, Master Koon” “[laughter] your padawan? I think you mean ours” “If that’s the case then our men should know not to spoil her so much. The Guard do a fantastic job on their own.” )
( This is, of course, without even bothering to ask the Council or the GAR’s higher ups, this is all on his and the Guard’s own actions— its easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. But hey, if Plo Koon was on board than Cin has a leg up if it get brought to the Council anyways. )
When the 104th leaves for the Front again, guess whose Clones are next— the 501st. This time the rumors are going around that the 104th is suddenly more vicious than before and the 501st is eager to know what happened while they were on shore-leave. They soon regret it, because Training Hell is— well— Hell. Anakin and Ahsoka have flashbacks to when they went through Training Hell and Bene laughs at them.
Slowly, each Clone battalion, platoon, company and so on are being trained by a near constant rotation of the Temple Guard, Bene, and Cin— and their own Jedi as well. A few knights that Cin personally trained— like Serra Keto— as well join in when they can. Cin puts in a request to go to Illum and gather more Kyber Crystals for more “training sabers” but half the Council who know and approve of Cin’s actions already know— the man’s planning on making at least a thousand lightsabers for the Vode to pass around.
The Temple Guard have a Lightsaber Building Night where they assemble the “training sabers” together and talk about their Clones because the Vode might have their Jedi Generals, but the Guard have claimed all of the ones they’ve trained as theirs too. Especially the Coruscant Guard.
Bene happily gives Fox, Thorn, Thire, Stone, and Hound their lightsabers first, having assembled all of them with Serra.
(And now for the angst)
It’s all well and good— the GAR starts gaining more ground, less Clones are dying.
And then Operation Knightfall and Order 66 hit.
The Jedi on the ground cannot possibly raise their sabers to these men that they helped train, cant possibly defend from blaster shots while also blocking lightsaber strikes that were taught under the Battlemaster’s strict teaching because he taught them to keep them alive—
And in the Temple?
Well, after Grand Inquisitor murdered all the Guard he could find, even after everything, those that remain are just horrified as they are forced into battle with their vode. Certainly, Cin’s job of protecting the Temple from the Clones is much harder than before, now that they’re armed with Lightsabers and it hurts because “by gods what have I done, I’ve given them the means to kill us all—” but also “I trained these men, they were like the Guard, like my sons—”
Instead of Vader, Cin’s murdered by six lightsaber wielding clones after a split second of faltering because gods he can’t.
And for a split second, when the sabers enter his body, the Clones behind them jolt awake— horrified as they realize that it’s Teacher Drallig on the other end, face twisted in pain as he falls and it’s little Bene’s choking gasps that are behind them as Vader strangles her to death.
But that split second is over too soon, and the Sabers are removed and the Clones move on— good soldiers follow orders, after all, and Teacher Drallig and Little Bene the Jedi Battlemaster and his student were just Traitors, after all. Good soldiers follow orders.

Strike and Out
Some more Ghost AU writing, this time around events of THH's Chapter 5
After the last trial, Monokuma decided to open the last floor of the building for the remaining students to investigate the next day, but for Utsuro, nothing on that floor was of any interest.
That's it, except two rooms.
The first one was the bloodied and ruined class 5-C, the place where the Despair Sisters killed the Student Council and the linchpin to everything that brought forth the Tragedy. The ghost only knew what happened thanks to Junko, but the carnage around them already told what happened there.
The second was the Bio Lab, that Makoto found that it was closed. Utsuro tried to look inside, thanks to his incorporeal status, but the room was too dark to see anything, besides the 9 small lights that shined in front of him.
But, later that night, after suspicions of her helping out Junko with the Killing Game started falling on Kyoko, and the luckster hid a knife that Toko found in the bloodied room, a knife pertaining to Mukuro Ikusaba, Utsuro noticed, in his bed drawer, the detective called Makoto to tell him about her plan to investigate the building with a key she stole from the bear. After Makoto distracted him, the both of them didn't saw Kyoko for the rest of the night, and the beginning of the next day.
But, for the ghost, the whereabouts of the detective weren't his top priority right now.
For the entire day, the luckster looked feverish, his state getting worse while he tried to converse with the others around the small windows of free time the students had, finally collapsing into his bed around the evening. Utsuro wasn't sure if Makoto was really conscious, and it seemed that the luckster couldn't hear him.
Then, a noise of footsteps moves his attention to the figure grabbing the knife in the drawer.
---
The lavender-haired girl was returning from her investigation on the mysterious Monokuma-faced key, having deducted that it was some kind of master key, when she felt a shiver on her back.
She knew what it was: Death Itself.
She let the feeling guide her right to the dormitories, when she saw a masked figure entering Makoto's room.
"They have to be Ikusaba" She thinks, running towards the room "And that's Naegi's room..."
She crosses the door, planning to foil another murder.
---
Utsuro is completely paralyzed. Junko is there, with Mukuro's knife and about to stab Makoto with it. He's pretty sure that has heard him scream, but the only things in his mind is the images of the unconscious luckster's body in the secret room, an inventor with his torso blown to bits, a exorcist's head blowing up after she tried to reveal the truth about their misery after being accused of killing her friend, and a maid getting her side torn open by the metal claws of a monochromatic bear.
He sees red.
---
The amnesic girl runs towards the door ready to fight the Ultimate Despair and- wait, what.
Before she can do really anything, the trash can in the luckster's room goes flying right to masked person's head, seemingly causing a cut, going by the blood that it was starting to pool around the side of the mask.
After recovering from the hit, the Despair sees Kyoko and runs from the room, the knife in her hand. The girl think about going after the attacker, but she decides not after seeing the still feverish Makoto in his bed.
"I don't know if you can hear me, but..."
---
The ghost can hear Kyoko's voice from where he is, having gotten out of the room to make sure that Junko didn't returned to finish the job, but not enough to know what she's saying. Right now, the most important thing for him is the fact that the Ultimate Despair stole the knife Makoto was guarding, and he doesn't want to think what she would do with it.
After returning to the room, Utsuro sees Kyoko sitting on the bed, at the sleeping Makoto's side. He goes to the other side of the bed, when he hears the detective talk.
"I know you're here"
She's talking to him.
---
Now, she feels a bit like an idiot, saying this words to the empty room, but with everything that happened these days with Monokuma and the Killing Game, she couldn't expect normalcy anymore.
Since the beginning, she had noticed all of Makoto's strange behaviors since they were imprisoned inside the school: Sometimes looking at nothing in particular, mumbling to himself, in a way that reminded her of half of a conversation, knowing things that he logically couldn't have known, only to give half-baked excuses for why he knew them...
And now the flying trash can.
All this time, she tried to find a logical explanation for his behavior, when the answer was that it is something more supernatural:
That there has to be a ghost at the luckster's side.
She stays quiet, waiting for an answer.
---
"What?"
He really didn't expected that someone would try to talk with him, specially when only Makoto could hear him, but the detective's stare made him decide to grab the notepad on Makoto's room, that he had been using since the day both of them discovered the ghost's ability to temporarily interact with the material world, and a pen.
In it, he wrote "What do you want?"
---
She would be lying if she said that she wasn't surprised when she saw the notepad and pen starting to float and write by themselves, finishing up by showing the four words in it, What do you want?
"Don't worry, I just wanted to test a theory" She smirks a little "And it seems that I was correct"
"So, who are you?"
The pen, or better saying, the spirit, stops momentarily, only to slowly write a word, Utsuro.
"Utsuro..." She then thinks "'Empty', what a curious name, that's it, if it isn't an alias..."
She then hears the pen moving again "Don't worry, I'll will stay here, I'll make sure that the Mastermind doesn't returns the finish the job"
She, for a moment, thinks about trying to pry some information off the ghost, feeling that they know more about what's going on, but the camera in the room dissuades her from doing it.
After some minutes of silence, she talks again.
"I can feel you really care about Naegi" She looks at the discarded trash can "Not everyone would throw a trash can to a dangerous terrorist soldier"
The ghost starts to write something, but they then scratches it out, writing in its place, He reminds me of someone.
Then the room falls into silence again, the only noises being Makoto's breath and the noise of the pen. For a moment, Kyoko can see the ghost doing a doodle of a girl with a maid costume and messy hair in the notepad.
She decides to not say anything, instead staying alert for whatever the Mastermind is planning on do now.

Weakness
Read on AO3
A hush falls in the corridors wherever the Student Council President walks. She swept through her school, the two girls flanking her seeming to move in her wake as her students parted for her.
On her left was Runa, who would be comical if not for the power she held. On her right, the Student Council Vice President. That’s how most people knew her, at least.
Mary Saotome looked up and watched the trio as they moved towards the Council’s offices. Time seemed to move in slow motion as she was drawn to the girl in the theatrical mask. Ririka.
Mary’s mind began to drift. Ririka had sort of won her over through persistence, as if she knew the effect she had on Mary was different to everyone else. She felt warmth spread through her chest, and immediately tried to shut it down. Hyakkaou was no place for this. Survival of the fittest - there was no room for these feelings. They could show weakness, and then she’d suffer the humiliation of wearing those tags again. Yourself above all else - this was how the President designed things, after all. And yet…
Mary wondered how many people had seen Ririka’s actual face. How many people knew she was actually called Ririka? The only reason Mary knew was through force and surprise. The President… maybe other Council members? Beyond that maybe she was the only one.
It was a face she could never forget. She imagined it always wore that expression of shock that Mary saw when unmasking her, and was framed by perfect hair, in colour, style and length. Though Mary always noticed the blush her face always carried, her most striking feature was her eyes. Light blue seas which Mary fought not to get lost in every time she saw them. Eyes that seemed to hold innocence so out of place in a place like Hyakkaou. They warded off the evil that made its home here. Yet she was instrumental to its creation, so the innocence couldn’t be real? Yet her eyes…
It was a face that had nearly disarmed her, her own shock clearly there. It took some effort to put back on her own mask, and maintain it when in her presence. Mary would not appear vulnerable, not even to Ririka.
“Mary? Are you ok?”
Mary started, turning to see Yumeko, eyes filled with concern.
“I’m fine,” Mary snapped back.
She looked back over to where the trio had been, only to find them gone. She scowled, before turning on her heel and storming down the corridor, going nowhere in particular.
Weakness. She couldn’t show it, not now, not after she’d known the humiliation of being a housepet. Yet Ririka seemed capable of making her feel things she hadn’t felt in such a long time. Not since she learned how this place worked. Mary leant against the wall and sighed, closing her eyes. In many ways Ririka Momobami was as remarkable as her sister, and Mary, though she didn’t like to admit it, liked that. She liked that a lot.

CC Farming
This is an excellent event for farming CC. This is an event where you can get event currency quickly, and where one event currency can become 1000CC.
That makes farming this event very lucrative for those who are currently in a CC drought!
Check out this reddit post for more details.
Suffice to say, if you’ve got CC problems then it might be worth it to sink in some AP pots and grind this event out until you’re in a comfortable position again.
More information on CC farming here if you’re wondering how to get the most out of it!
