Bor’dor Dog’son
Prepare for a long post (Spoilers for C3x63 and Campaign 2)
So I’ve seen a lot of posts comparing Essek and Bor’dor, or more accurately how the parties each responded to the betrayal of Essek and Bor’dor. First of all, I love it. However, I find this very fascinating because while the betrayal may be similar on the surface the contexts of the situations could not be more different.
For the Mighty Nein, they found out about Essek’s betrayal before he knew they knew. I know that is worded in a confusing way, but essentially the group had the upper hand. They had the time to process what the betrayal meant, the effect it had on their friendship, without Essek being there with them. M9 were in control of how they handled the situation. They were able to think and talk things out. They wanted to give him a chance to explain himself and he Does Not immediately attack them once asked. They can have a conversation with Essek that isn’t clouded by raw emotion and hurt.
On the other hand, you have Bell’s Hells (or just AOL / Team Issylra). Deni$e questions Bor’dor and, while she is hostile at first, eventually everyone just gives him space to tell his story / explain himself (from his little notes app) which he concludes by immediately attacking all of them. This downs Prism (another person who BH have grown attached to, maybe even more than Bor’dor just saying) and leaves them all in the throws of hard and angry betrayal. Once again, it feels like things are just happening to them and they have zero control of the situation. Still, the first instinct is not to kill. Orym gives Prism a healing potion and Ashton & Deni$e want to incapacitate. But Bor’dor tries to escape instead of talk things out so they do what they feel in the moment.
The differences are certainly there and say a lot about each party; how they view friendship and loyalty and betrayal. But the situations are drastically different and they cannot be discounted. (Also the backgrounds of and PC experiences with Essek and Bor’dor are very different too but thats not this post)

ROUND 2-B: Giovanni Pottage VS Jester
Tumblr media
About Giovanni: An former captain of the Banzai Blasters that left to form his own villain group (which is currently made of other Ex-Banzai Blasters he used to lead) with a villain persona called Vincent Murder. He refers to his minions as "My Boys" which he uses gender-neutrally (but will stop if one of them said they don't want to be called that), he makes a grandiose entrance when breaking into the museum and gives every single on of his attacks descriptively-dramatic names such as "Lav-Acid", "Fog of Lost Souls", "Soup That is Too Hot", and "Teleports Behind You", he uses the "Soul Slugger Doom Bat of Maximum Destruction" which is literally just a baseball bat with his mom's knife taped to it (with him technically stealing said knife).
About Jester: A cleric of the Traveler, who she helped grow a religion for, organize a convention for, and she stuck with them after they reveled that the Traveler was an arch-fey pulling a prank on the mortals. She often pulls acts of mischief or trickery, along with leaving notes and drawings in random places. She has painted a dragon god's statue in it's own temple and used dust of deliciousness on a stale cupcake to trick a power hag into removing Nott's curse.

When the show came out I was expecting we would get more fans that had never watched the stream, what I didn’t expect were the fans who are only familiar with the Mighty Nein and had never seen Vox Machina.
Nothing wrong with them to be clear, just saw a tweet that was like “Wait the Traveler appeared in Campaign 1???” And it really fucked me up

Plants grow on the graves of Caduceus’s home and it’s a beautiful thing, really. He lives for so long, and even if he didn’t, there’s something special about burying something dead and getting something living. There’s something special about burying someone you knew and you love and getting something to enjoy from them as a result, something that’s going to be there for a long time, maybe even longer than Caduceus, in fact that’s very likely. It’s just beautiful and bittersweet because he’s saying goodbye to them but he still gets to enjoy something from them until his days creep up on him and finally goes as well. He gets to enjoy something with them actively for as long as he lives, even though it’s longer than them.

Okay but I was genuinely so pleased with how Tal decided to interpret King. He feels like a proper reincarnation of Molly’s soul whilst also distinctly being his own, different person (and he somehow gives me even more gender envy like hoLY FUCK). Oh and if my tastes weren’t already being apparently specially catered to, Tal made him even MORE of a rat bastard then Molly was.
