It was supposed to be a normal date but then again... nothing is normal when it comes to Daisuke

A/n: honestly it is a crime that there aren't many fics with Daisuke and Haru. However, I am here to deliver once more.

Pairing: Kambe Daisuke x reader

Trigger Warnings: none

It had become a tradition at this point that whenever you and Daisuke went on a date, he would pick you up from your house with his 'humble' sports car and drive to a nice restaurant to dine. Maybe, if the night was still young, the two of you would go to a roof garden and have a cocktail or two. Pretty chill activities since Daisuke never settled for anything less.

Aside from some 'unexpected' dates, the two of you would go out every Friday night and if not to go to dinner then to take a walk around the park.

Today was Friday but Daisuke had suggested to go windowshopping -it never was JUST windowshopping- which was fine with you since it was holiday week and every single store would be decorated.

"Cartier or Harry Winston?" Daisuke fixed the black scarf around his neck before putting his gloved hand back in his coat's pocket.

"Buccellati." You replied nonchalantly.

"All three then." He sighed and his breath could be seen.

"Why are we here anyways? When it comes to walks you're always adamant on going to the park."

You received no reply however since Daisuke stopped walking and stared at a restaurant at the opposite side of the street. There were a lot of people outside, watching the workers who transferred few of the most expensive furniture inside with the outmost care.

"Well?"

"Do you think it will be ready by next Friday?" Finding his question slightly odd, you turned to look at him. He seemed to be deeply invested in the speed with which the workers brought the furniture inside, his eyes going back and forth between them and the workers on the rooftop of the restaurant who were building the bar.

"Does it matter?" You asked.

"Of course it does. I am paying for its construction." Daisuke seemed to notice how you blinked in question and turned his head just enough to look at you. "There aren't any other fine restaurants in town and you don't like travelling with a helicopter."

"So you bought the restaurant of this hotel?"

"No, I built the hotel." He shrugged.

"Why?"

"Because, I live to impress and I have too much money."

It is needless to say that the interior of the restaurant and the hotel on top of it had indeed been finished by the time you and Daisuke walked inside just a week later.

And read finds out by watching the news cause everyone knows Loid married reader. So reader goes back to Tokyo to her apartment and Loid turns up and instead of begging for forgiveness he asks if he can move his family in because people know where he lives and it’s dangerous for Anya. Then reader tries to divorce Loid but his against it. Even Yor “kinda” helps him in ways to get reader back.

The last chapter I read reader and Daisuke were working with Loid to take down damian’s dad and I think reader gets shot?

Millionaire Detective is just if Bruce Wayne was 10% more toddler and if he didn't do the Batman shit, he just joined the police force and used his money for everything and if Gotham was like 50% more like Metropolis or any other normal ish series.

Imagine if it was 2004 The Batman Bruce Wayne and Ethan Benett were in this situation. Bruce is a rich bitch who does whatever he wants and Ethan is the normal guy who's just dragged around for the ride.

Day Five of The Underrated And The Unwritten

Daisuke swore if the clock ticked on for another minute he was going to strangle somebody.

Daisuke Kambe was a lot of things, some of them worse than the others, but one thing he would never be, something he hadn't allowed himself to be referred to as, was tardy.

However, his family seemed to be hellbent on ruining that carefully curated reputation of his, what with their delayed meetings and persistence in holding him back from walking out the front door at that very moment.

Being a Kambe certainly had its advantages, but that also came with a reputation he had to uphold. One that for once was working against him.

Words couldn't begin to explain how restless Daisuke was as he watched the clock tick on, with his feet almost automatically dashing towards the door the second he had signed the required papers.

Seeing you awkwardly stand beside the restaurant's reception dressed up in the outfit he had asked you to wear had Daisuke nervously gulping as his car rolled to a stop,

Your reassuring smile and nonchalant tone only served to worsen his guilt, with Daisuke trying to order the most extravagant things and constantly apologising.

It was only when you took matters into your own hands that he finally seemed to calm down, with the gentle hold your hand had on his somehow grounding Daisuke enough to allow you to lead him out of the restaurant and towards a random park he hadn't even noticed in his haste to get there.

Sitting on a bench outside eating ice cream and discussing your lives certainly wasn't what Daisuke had in mind for that date, but he found that even such simple and inexpensive experiences could bring him pleasure.

notes: long story short, I found out about this anime, saw a picture of Daisuke, instantly realized I would love him and decided to binge all 11 episodes and now I'm here. I would marry Daisuke in a heartbeat. Feel free to send me requests for Fugou Keiji Balance: Unlimited! I'm writing for Daisuke, Haru, Suzue and Hoshino for now.

Daisuke is fairly new to cooking as he's always had a butler do it for him. But we've seen how proud he was about learning to make a tasty dish for the first time. That aside, Haru would often talk about cooking, so by now Daisuke is fairly open to learning new dishes to cook. He will deny this and say there's no need for him to learn how to cook and he's only doing it because he wants to see you happy but you can see he's having fun and he's boasting about the final result

You decide to start with something easy as he is inexperienced. Probably an easy one-pot dish or street food.

If it's street food there are actually quite a lot of things he's never tried. He heard of most of them but only from the media.

He's still....struggling with the knife. Don't even attempt to guide his hands, this is just going to distract him and increase the chances of him accidentally cutting his finger. "It's bleeding", he just says dryly and looks at you. You sigh and shake your head, reaching for the band-aid. Daisuke is pouting about the fact that you already expected something like this to happen and put them on the counter next to you.

You put the band-aid on his small cut and press a kiss to his hand. He's hesitating for a moment, looking at you with curiousity. "Why?", he just asks. "So it heals faster", you smile at him. He's confused. "Do it again." You chuckle and press another kiss to his knuckles before cupping his cheeks and giving him a kiss on the lips.

Daisuke is having some issues to properly understand the instructions on the recipe sometimes. He thinks caramelizing onions means putting caramel on them. When you explain what it actually is he furrows his brows. "Why don't they just say that then?"

"With 'seperate the egg' what do they mean? Crack it open? Separate the yellow from the white?"

When you cook something, he wraps his arms around you from behind and rests his head on your shoulder, watching you curiously. Occasionally he presses an appreciative kiss to your neck and nuzzles your skin while closing his eyes.

He's actually pretty careless when it comes to spilling things. Will end up with stains of tomato sauce etc. all the time on his white shirts. "Daisuke-" "It's fine this was only 65400 yen."

You hold your head. "Evil capitalist..." This gets a chuckle out of Daisuke and he presses a kiss to your cheek.

When you put the final result on the plates he's like "What about the side dishes and the appetizers and the dessert? Aren't we going to make that too?" "We're not making a dinner with several courses."

He absolutely adores the dish. You can see how proud he is of having made this and he's basically waiting for you to tell him excitedly how much you like it.

This is the reason he'll occasionally start asking HEUSC for 5 star recipes and attempts preparing them for you. He's....not THAT successful with that since those are way above the difficulty level he can currently master. So he begrudgingly resorts to simpler recipes again or asks Haru for help. Literally just sends him a text like "Come to my house" without any additional information and Haru thinks it's work-related until Daisuke leads him into the kitchen and is like "I need to prepare dinner for y/n."

He's having the sweetest smile on his face when you like the dish he cooked. He'll pull you into a hug after you have finished eating and just holds you for a while.

Haru is experienced with cooking so if you're a beginner, he's perfectly able to teach you how to make a tasty dinner. If you cook for yourself regularly as well, he'll be happy to exchange tips and recipes with you.

He always invites you over to cook with him. When you knock on the door of his small apartment, he smiles at you and wraps you into a tight embrace before he presses a kiss to your lips. He grabs his wallet and keys and you're off to the grocery store around the corner.

Haru and you always go grocery shopping together and you share the bill. He always gets you a little something like an ice cream or your favorite candy to remind you he loves you and to see you smile.

Back at his apartment you prepare the ingredients together. Haru occasionally glances at you from the side and can't help but smile. Somehow you doing such simple things like cutting vegetables or inspecting the recipe makes him realize how much he loves you. Doing domestic things with you always makes him look forward to spending his future with you.

He'll also often wrap his arms around you from behind and loves when you do the same. "I love you", he smiles at you and kisses you softly.

Occasionally will feed you some of the ingredients, like a cheese cube or a slice of tomato etc.

When the food is in the oven or currently cooking, Haru spends the time with you sitting on his lap and snuggling you. He often uses these moments to talk about your day and what he did at work today. Of course he leaves out all the confidential stuff, but there's always something happening that he can tell you about. Sometimes he complains about Daisuke. "And then he bought the entire mall just to put it on lockdown so the criminal couldn't flee the building-"

You taste the food together to see if it still needs some spices.

He always listens to your input and values it greatly.

He even tries to make the dinner look fancy. He puts a vase with flowers on the table and lights up some candles.

He's very relieved and happy when you like the dinner he made. He'll often surprise you with a dessert he made earlier before you arrived and stored in the fridge until now.

Sometimes when you text him that you had a stressful day he'll prepare dinner for you on his own to surprise you. He'll guide you to the table and presses a kiss to your lips, asking you to let him spoil you today. "You deserve some rest", he smiles and caresses your cheek.

After you finished eating he'll carry you to the bathroom to take a bath with you or to the bed if you need to sleep. Either way, he'll hold you close and nuzzles your cheek with a peaceful smile on his face.

When you two bake together, once or twice the original plan had escalated into a flour fight. "I hate us for having to clean this up now", you sigh and Haru laughs, chucking another hand of flour towards your shoulder.

You pout and he cups your face and presses multiple kisses to your lips.

Sometimes he'll bring things you baked to his workplace and shares them with his colleagues, slightly bragging about how his awesome s/o made these delicious treats. He's super proud of you.

Of course, they still disagreed on methods and bickered constantly, but it was mostly lighthearted. Kambe thought they had learned to see thing from each other's perspective. That was, until a week ago, when their investigation had brought them back to Tokyo. "Haru", was all Daisuke could say at first. They felt the same way about each other. Haru had been holding back, worried about not being worth the effort to Daisuke of all things. The idea was so ridiculous, that Daisuke would've laughed in other circumstances.

Anime I watched in 2022 Part 2:

11. Rising of the Shield Hero Part 2- 3/5

Where do I begin with this? It started off strong but by the 3rd or 4th episode I started to question if this was the same shield hero that I watched before. Don’t even get me started on how many times I watched Ost die only for her to come back to life. Thank goodness for the banger opening and ending. I briefly read the manga a while back so I knew that content was left out. After this season ended I reread and yup A LOT was left out. Hopefully the next season can redeem this show.

12. Spy x Family 10,000/5

Ahhhhh I was so excited for this one. I read the manga so I knew the plot well and was a wee bit nervous when I saw Cloverworks was one of the studios doing the production (they basically cut 90% of Horimiya content) but much to my surprise they kept all of the original content, plus added some to really flesh out the show and it’s characters. This will be one of those shows that people will be talking about for years to come. The animation, the characters, the opening and ending were all spectacularly done. Anya deserves all the happiness in the world. Loid is the best fake dad and fake husband (all for the mission of course) and Yor is the new waifu, I don’t make the rules. God I really love these characters and seeing them animated so wonderfully brings a smile to my face.

13. Ya Boy Kongming 5/5

This was a underrated gem for this year. I need to thank tik tok for showing me clips for this one otherwise I wouldn’t have know it existed. And that opening: A BANGER!! Seriously, if anyone skips the opening, they need to be arrested immediately! All the characters were so likable and you were cheering on the ‘rivals’. If you’re a fan of music, I highly recommend this anime.

14. The Case Study of Vanitas 5,000/5

Ahhhhhh! Ok ok. I’m calm now. But seriously this anime has turned my brain into goop. I had serious Vanitas brain rot when I finished watching this one. From opening to ending this one hooked me. Alllll the characters were interesting, even the minor ones; you just wanted to know more about every one and everything. And I know, I KNOW Vanitas and Jeanne are endgame but whyyy is the chemistry between Vanitas and Noe sooooo good. Like holy guacamole their chemistry was off the charts (and that first ending didn’t help either) I can’t wait to know more about these characters and see what shenanigans they get up too.

15. Misfit of the Demon King Academy 5/5

There’s just something about overpowered characters that gets me so hyped. Now don’t get me wrong, I like to follow the journey of a character from rock bottom and see them rise to the top. But sometimes you just want to see a Main Character just go nuts from the get go and that’s the main character from this series. “Did you really think killing me would stop me?” will never stop being epic. Like damn! This was such a refreshing anime and the ending I didn’t expect. Really can’t wait to see more of this universe.

16. The Millionaire Detective: Balance Unlimited 4/5

Listen, there was so much hype around this anime that I went into it expecting a lot. Especially the chemistry between the two male leads but alas I was severely disappointed. While the story and other characters were good it just felt like something was missing. And I know everyone loves Kambe but I was more into Haru and I just wanted him to one up Kambe in some way (don’t ask me to go into detail because I can’t even explain it myself). Maybe I need to read the manga to get into this one.

17. Love After World Domination 5/5

This was such a cute, dorky romance. If you were a Power Rangers fan as a kid, I think you’ll appreciate this one. It’s a nice spoof of that universe with the main characters trying to navigate their love life, school, being a hero and being a villain (is she really a villain though). I went into this one with absolutely no expectations but every week I was continuously surprised by this story. Really hope we get a second season to this.

18. Skeleton Knight in Another World 5/5

I know a lot of people kept comparing this one to Overload but can I just say that I enjoyed this one wayyy more than Overload. Arc and Arianne are much more enjoyable characters to me and I just adored their chemistry. And Ponta was just the cutest addition to this series. This anime only has 12 episodes but it was enough to hook me in to that universe. I’m really hoping we get another season.

19. Overlord Season 1 3/5

I really tried to like this one. Honestly I tried my best to like it but I couldn’t get past the first season. The characters felt bland and overdone for me. Maybe it’s because I watched so many isekai anime’s prior that this one didn’t wow me. Maybe if I’m bored I’ll give this another go.

20. Komi Can’t Communicate Part 2 5/5

Ahhh cuteness overload. I really love Komi and seeing her progress slowly but surely is always a wonderful sight to behold. Chadano will forever be best boy. This season had so many laugh out loud and wtf moments that I really hope we get another season.

Pairings: Haru Kato x reader

A/n: I happened to rewatch Balance Unlimited and I found myself looking for Haru short drabbles and shit like that but there were not a lot so I took it upon myself to provide you with some new ones so this one is inspired by Kotaro lives alone. I know this sucks but it's 5:25 am rn and I should be asleep so yes but I am more than happy to write more balance unlimited based stuff so feel free to request

Warnings: well...it is kind sad tbh but not much

Saturday, the first day of the weekend. Haru had been enthralled because last week in the Modern Crimes Department had been exhausting. So when the doorbell rang, waking both of you up, to say that he was angry would be an underestimation.

“Stay there, I'll get it.” He sighed and left the bed. He didn't even know what time it was but it didn't matter, when it's weekend every hour during the morning can be considered early for waking someone up.

“Hello, dear neighbour, I am Kotaro and I live in the apartment next door.”

Haru took his time observing the little kid in front of him, reaching his hands out to him while holding a tissue box, he couldn't be older than 5. Finally, a smile broke in Haru's face and he kneeled in front of the little kid before accepting the box.

“Thank you little man.” He peeked outside, looking left and right. “Are your parents here?”

“I occupy the apartment next door by myself. I must away.” The little boy said and ran away. (if you've seen the anime you know how Kotaro speaks so cut me some slack)

Puzzled, Haru closed the door behind him and returned to your bed, still holding the tissue box.

“You heard that too right?” He asked you, setting the box aside.

“A little boy renting the next door apartment alone? Is that even legal?”

“I am pretty sure it's not.” Haru said concerned.

“Come on, we'll deal with this later, let's go to bed.”

You were just as concerned as he was, Haru knew this. He also knew that you wanted to sleep it off purely because you would end up overthinking about it and so he agreed. He got comfortable with you almost on top of him and closed his eyes but he couldn't fall back asleep. The same went for you. So it is needless to say you both stayed like that not knowing that the other was awake.

“I'll look into it.” Haru mumbled to himself. You were both in the bathroom brushing your teeth.

“I'll help.” He nodded in response.

You both thought of calling Daisuke to help as well but the truth was that Haru was too tired to deal with him.

And so the investigation began.

After meeting up with the rest of the residents of the apartments in the flat you figured that the concern about Kotaro was mutual. Obviously you couldn't ask Kotaro anything because at the end of the day he was just a five year old kid so you all mutually agreed to take care of him.

But to Haru that wasn't enough. He wanted to know more about this child's past, what led him to live alone.

“Our neighbour said he is taking care of him, stop stressing so much.” You hugged him from behind. “Also the rice is ready.”

If you hadn't hugged him, Haru would have most probably forgotten about the fact that he was cooking at that time. His gaze followed your figure and he watched as you were putting the rice into two bowls.

“You're worried too.”

“I am but he is safe here with us. Everyone cares about him too. Our next door neighbour whose name I always forget...”

“Same.” Haru admitted.

“He accompanies Kotaro to and from kindergarten and the supermarket and practically everywhere. Plus the boy is always active and although he is shy, he asks for help when he needs it.” Both of you sat down and started eating with the TV on, working as a background music.

Whether Haru had found anything about the child's past, you didn't know but during the next few days he appeared to have calmed himself down. You didn't know if it was because of what you had said or because he had found something but no matter the case you were happy since him being calm meant that you could also finally relax.

About a week later, everything seemed to have become clearer. You and Haru would both go to work in the mornings and in the afternoons you would pick up Kotaro from kindergarten and occasionally dine with him. Everyone in the building was taking turns taking care of him.

“I can get used to this.” You heard Haru mumbling next to you. Your head was on his chest and his hands were lazily wrapped around you as you watched TV. “It's a bit...relaxing.”

“Yeah, I will agree.” You snuggled closer. You were more than sure Haru had found something but you didn't ask. Since everything was okay now and Kotaro was safe, you didn't want to know since at the end of the day all that mattered was the kid's safety and happiness.

“I do think however, that you would be a great mom.”

“And you would be a great dad but we're not having any children right now.”

“Couldn't agree more.”
