Something to know about me is I’ve watched all of Jeffrey Combs’ on-screen movie and TV appearances.
ALL.
All except the two lost treasures: Art School of Horrors and his episode of The Mississippi.
All in the pursuit of making this video:
youtube
Art School of Horrors is locked in Roger Corman’s grip. I hold out hope that somehow someday it will be released. I’ve reached out to as many people as I can think of to see if anyone has a copy, no dice. I don’t think any of the actors ever got to see a full cut.
The Mississippi has never been released on physical media by CBS. One eBay seller has some ripped episodes, but not Jeffrey’s (but the collection does include Andy Robinson’s episode!) Jeffrey believes he has a copy buried somewhere in his garage, and maybe one day he’ll unearth it. Until then, the best avenues are CBS, someone else coming up with a rip from an old VHS, or Sean Penn (as his father directed the episode and his mother was a guest star).
So if anyone can connect me with Roger Corman, Sean Penn, or someone with keys to the CBS vault of forgotten media, hit me up.

Defund and abolish is making more and more sense. End qualified immunity for police, too.
How many more are buried there?!!!

Seven months of searching for her lost son brought Bettersten Wade to a dirt road leading into the woods, past an empty horse stable and a scrapyard. The last time she’d seen her middle child, Dexter Wade, 37, was on the night of March 5, as he left home with a friend. She reported him missing, and Jackson police told her they’d been unable to find him, she said.  It wasn’t until 172 excruciating days after his disappearance that Bettersten learned the truth: Dexter had been killed less than an hour after he’d left home, struck by a Jackson police car as he crossed a nearby interstate highway. Police had known Dexter’s name, and hers, but failed to contact her, instead letting his body go unclaimed for months in the county morgue.
GEE I WONDER IF THESE ARE RELATED
The decision to call the police was difficult for Bettersten. She did not trust them. In 2019, her 62-year-old brother died after a Jackson officer slammed him to the ground. The officer was convicted of manslaughter but is appealing.  Her family filed a wrongful death lawsuit accusing Jackson officers of excessive force and attempting to cover up their actions, and accusing the city of failing to properly train and supervise the officers. The city has denied the claims and said it isn’t liable for what happened. The officers’ lawyer said they acted responsibly and lawfully. A federal judge dismissed some of Bettersten’s claims; others remain pending in state court.  Bettersten said her mother advised her not to call the police about Dexter.
The whole thing is worth reading, its not that long. But other key points: the coroner IDed Dexter within a few days and gave the info to the police to notify the family. After months of no info, officer in charge of missing persons retired. Within two weeks, the replacement officer notified her of the death and took her to fetch the body from a paupers field where coroner buried unclaimed bodies.

A Black woman in Mississippi reported her son missing and went 7 months with police telling her they couldn’t find him.
She sent them photos, begged for updates, and implored them to put his story on the news.
It turns out they knew where he was all along. An hour after he left his house he was struck and killed on the highway by an off duty police officer.
They hid his body in the morgue for months without ever notifying his family despite there being a prescription bottle with his name on it found at the scene.
Then they buried him in a pauper’s field with nothing but a number identifying him as corpse # “672”.

"Charles killed my favorite child the other day" may be the single greatest phrase I've ever read in a Dear Santa letter.

A Mississippi chicken slaughterhouse put a child into a 'preventable, dangerous situation', the Labor Department has concluded - after the death of a 16-year-old sucked into a chicken deboning plant. Duvan Perez had been cleaning equipment at the Hattiesburg plant of Mar-Jac Poultry on July 14, 2023, when he was pulled into the rotating shaft of a machine and sustained fatal injuries. Perez, originally from Guatemala, had been hired to work at the slaughterhouse by a recruitment firm - despite it being illegal for under 18s to work at a meat processing plant. His death caused widespread outrage, and on Wednesday the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - a division of the Department of Labor - issued their report, finding a litany of errors and recommending $212,646 in penalties. They also highlighted two previous deaths at the company's facilities since 2020, and accused the company of complacency and recklessness.
