Background
So Tessa was born to an unwed couple who were in their mid 30′s at the time, her mom thought the two of them were hopelessly in love until Tessa was four and dude just dipped? Her mom came home one day and all his stuff was gone, no note or anything, he drained their account and they haven’t ever heard from him since.
This obviously fucked Tessa up young because she has mad issues with love meaning anything and also abandonment, like she definitely doesn’t sleep well at night because she spent years waking up and running to the window every time she saw car lights, thinking it was him coming home.
Her mom is an absolute saint of a woman however (think Lorelai from Gilmore Girls meets Donna Sheridan from Mamma Mia), just an absolute quirky angel of a woman who definitely took in and helped abandoned animals but was also the place all the kids in town knew they could go if they had shitty parents/living situations or just a bad day and they needed a safe place to go? So obviously she stepped up and took down all dudes pictures and just raised Tessa like the single boss she is.
Tessa grew up into like an angel of a kid but oh buddy was she a chaotic one. Total tomboy, full of insane energy and personality, always on the move and exploring and doing things she shouldn’t be. Definitely the type to show up back at home as the suns going down just covered in dirt and bumps and bruises. 100% knocked her own baby teeth out from falling and slamming her face and had two front silver teeth as a little kid.
She was never very girly and because she grew up in this southern town that was just full of very critical asshole kids from more well-off families than her own was, particularly the girls who were very prissy, she definitely ended up clicking more with boys and quickly became ‘one of the guys’. Like undoubtedly had an all male friend group and was definitely the girl that girlfriends would be paranoid about while all the dudes were like confused as to how their girls were jealous because Tessa was just like another guy/little sibling, there was no interest on either end.
She had two shitty relationships as a teenager, the first cheated on her because she wasn’t ready to have sex and then the second whom she actually gave it up to, turned out to just be with her on a bet to see how long it would take him to get in her pants? She ended up punching dude in the face when she found out and broke his nose and asshole’s family actually wanted to press charges until Mama Richards shut the shit down.
TW: SUICIDE ATTEMPT MENTION Has slight anger management issues? Like she’s chill but when she blows up man does she blow up. Pushed a girl down a flight of stairs at school after she made a remark about a friend who had tried to commit suicide, the family did press charges this time and Tessa had to go to anger management classes and serve community service hours. She also got kicked out of school and just decided not to go back, went online and just got her GED at seventeen instead.
She was (and still is) very close and attached to her mom, absolute most important person in her life, but she worried about her so much her mom realized she probably wasn’t ever planning on leaving? So her mom got the help of her friends and they actually filled out an application for her to go onto a reality tv show? Seems crazy but each season took place in a different part of the world and her mom knew she wanted to travel but would never make the decision herself so when she got cast her mom was just like “lol here you go bye now”.
She hated it at first because she had grown so used to Texas and the country and her friends and making sure her mom was okay that it gave her a lot of anxiety and stress but she actually fell in love with it? Made a lot of close friends, became a fan favorite of sorts and would you believe it, the dumbass fell in love.
This boy wormed his way into her heart and it was a kind of a slightly unstable relationship because she would try and push away from him and her feelings but he always drew her back? He even proposed after like months of them being together and she panicked and ran but still he drew her back and they agreed that they should chill with the idea of engagement/marriage? He ended up leaving the show after like their fourth messy break up? And she, would you believe it, followed. The two ended up sleeping together but she was overly aware of the fact that he wasn’t actually in love with her anymore so she saved herself any awkward conversation and further heartbreak by just dipping before he woke up.
After this, Tessa returned to Texas and spent a solid week just out partying and drinking with friends and suddenly - BAM, she was having a one night stand with a complete stranger which was rather out of pocket for her and then even more suddenly - BAM, a pregnancy with no clue as to who the child’s father was. Thankfully it ended up being the one night stand’s and he turned out to be an incredible guy and father.
Obviously she never returned to the show and focused instead on becoming a mother and setting up a future for herself and her child.
She’s always been a big fan of kids (worked for a daycare after school, actually helped start up a charity that works with orphans/orphanages while on the show) and so she decided that she wanted to be a child life specialist and started attending school during her pregnancy and the two years that followed.
She ended up having a little girl named Addison, this child is her whole world and she’s 1000% the mom that posts about their kid too much on social media but she’s 100% turned Tessa’s life around and helped her mature in ways she wouldn’t have without her and she just loves her kid more than anything/anyone else.
She assumed her life would remain in Texas until a trip to New York a few months back to visit Alex Morgan (who remarked on the fact that she should move in) ended with her packing up her daughter and her bags within less than a month and landing her in the state for the foreseeable future.
She’s currently continuing her last year of school through online classes in order to get her bachelors while interning at the Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital.
Personality
A dork? Literally the biggest dork, the dorkiest of dorks, just a whole friggen dork. This child rambles like you wouldn’t believe and her mouth 100% works faster than her brain so like you never know what to expect but she’s just a happy, friendly, sarcastic little bean with social anxiety and a heart of gold tbh.
Also an aggressive lil’ lady though, like 12/10 chance she’ll throw hands if you want to fuck with or say something about the people she loves.
A chaotic soul as well like down to party and have a good time and will definitely drink a dude under the table, definitely broke her ribs two summers in a row from a drinking game because this child doesn’t know when to slow down or chill out, she’s just trying to live.
Emotional as hell, like definitely cries during commercials and Disney movies, but like if you’re trying to tap into her serious emotions she’s gonna shut that shit down. She keeps people locked out tbh and just jokes about the serious shit in her life if she does talk about it.
Desired Connections
Friends? This is tricky because she was basically in Texas for most of her life and then traveling? But someone who lived in/visited Texas and they met? Someone she met while filming the show in some random country - they were living there or traveling and met while she was out and about one day? Maybe someone she met through her charity work? Someone who has a kid or a younger sibling/niece/nephew/godchild who she took care of at the hospital or even on a home visit and they met her/know her that way?
Exes? So her most recent ex is off limits because it’s based off a real connection but like either of her exes from high school? The first one would have had to have lived in Texas for some time but the latter could have been visiting friends/family for a summer? If anyone has a character that works for these I’m down for the drama, especially the second because Tessa is fully ready to break dude’s nose again.
Half siblings? So Tessa’s dad basically bailed when she was little - maybe he had another family? Could have had a kid before her who he also bailed on, could have started a family during the same time or after, he could have stayed there for them or bailed on them as well? They could know about Tessa, or neither could know about the other? Tessa pry wouldn’t know about them because she made it a point to never bother searching for this man let alone any family but literally I’m down for whatever other ideas you’ve got on this one!
Honestly Tessa needs some guy friends! Like I said she’s always been very much more one of the guys - would rather be drinking a beer watching a sports game and yelling than going on a shopping spree okay she has 0 interest, and since she moved from home she needs a new guy group to cause trouble with but also, who makes a better wing woman than a girl okay? Chaos friend but also mom friend rolled into one because she will get involved in shenanigans but will also call you out for acting dumb too.

JULY TC CHALLENGE
To show you how very not dead I am, here are all my answers! Challenge made by @baeby-tc who is an amazing asset to the community and I'm so glad she's here
1. Describe your TC's physical appearance.
Well, she looks like me.
What do I look like? Her.
2. What was the first thing you've ever said to your TC?
Probably "yes" or "here" as I vaguely remember her taking attendance roll the first time I met her as a substitute.
3. Is your TC single or taken? Or are you unsure? And are you single or taken?
She's taken, I'm single with no real need to mingle rn.
4. Is your TC more of the athletic type, the nerdy type or the artsy type?
All three, somehow. She's incredibly athletic, a huge ass nerd, and a tiny bit artsy, though I don't think I've seen her draw, but I know she sometimes crafts things.
5. If you and your TC were in high school together, do you think you'd be friends?
Most likely. Though I think we'd be constantly pitted against each other, what with our similar strengths, and those are prone to ruin relationships, but... sure. I think so.
6. Name one song that reminds you of your TC and explain why that song reminds you of them.
Oof. What the Water Gave Me by Florence + The Machine. Back in like January-March, when I was probably most head-over-heels for her, I listened to it all the time.
7. Is your TC fashionable or are they more of the simple type? What is one outfit you'd love to see them wear?
Smart casual, I'd say, with a hint of geek. And I'd really love to see her in dresses more often. She kills it.
8. Would you be willing to become a teacher and teach your TC's subject if it meant you two could be together?
I'd do it without her, because if it wasn't for theatre, I'd probably go into literature, but... yeah. Sure. I'm all for confusing students which one of us is which.
9. Does your TC drink or smoke?
Oh, she drinks. I have a feeling the stories she shares with us are the mild ones.
10. Name one item that is always on your TC's desk.
Her bag. She comes in and throws her tote bag on the teachers' desk, first thing. But if we mean the one in the teachers' lounge, where all her stuff is... the stuffed fox on the cabinet next to the desk.
11. Has your TC ever done anything that has either thrown you off, annoyed you, angered you or bothered you in any way? If so, what did they do?
Oh, she has. Half of it you know. There's one I don't think I've told you about, though, from October of 2018, one month into us knowing each other. I got into an argument with Cynical Twat in class, and V jokingly asked "Are you two dating?" to which I very loudly responded "WITH HIM?". I was super embarrassed about it, and for about two weeks, I was really angry with V and looked for any chance to get back at her for it. Then I just... forgave her, over time, like nothing ever happened.
12. Does your TC have any past jobs that you know of, before becoming a teacher?
Nothing I know of that wasn't teaching.
13. Does your TC have kids or siblings? If so, how many?
I think she might have a sibling. She mentioned it to me once, but I'm not entirely sure.
14. Are you taking your TC's class next year?
If V remains my English teacher next year, which is more than probable, we'll be meeting even more often, four classes a week instead of three, plus one English extracurricular which I'm taking because of my pre-graduation exams, so that's... five classes weekly with V. If she stays, you guys will be spoiled.
15. Has your TC ever met your parents? If you were there, what was the meeting like?
She has seen both of them, and both have seen her, but I don't think either parties remember each other. With my mum was when we briefly met V in a shopping mall in December of 2018, and with my dad in June of 2019 at school. I remember telling both of them "that was my literature teacher", but I don't think they'd recognise her face.
16. Has your TC ever given you detention? If so, what was it like?
Ain't no detention where I'm from, oop----
17. Has your TC ever failed you? If so, how did you react? If not, how would you react?
As in, fail me from English? Bitch, I feel bad if I get a B in her class, if she failed me I'd probably move to Peru or some shit-----
18. What are your TC's hobbies/interests? Are they similar to yours?
Well, we're alike in liking books and watching shows, but she's also a gamer and likes cooking.
19. Have you ever spoken on the phone with your TC? What did you talk about?
Nope, haven't had the chance.
20. If you had your TC's class during quarantine, what were your Zoom calls like? If not, have you spoken to your TC since quarantine?
I did have her class, though they weren't on Zoom, and as you could probably see from my posts, they were a fucking rollercoaster.
21. If you had the chance to go anywhere in the world with your TC, where would you go? What would you do?
I have a favourite park in my city, one that's always really calm and has this insanely magical athmosphere. I'd probably take her there and just... talk. It wouldn't have to be a confession kinda conversation, not at all, just... just us, having time and talking because we can and we want to, about absolutely anything.
22. Does your TC have any nicknames for you?
No specifics for me, but she has called me something that best translates to babygirl/babydoll on two occasions, both of which you can read about below.
23. Have you ever cried in front of your TC? Why? How did they react?
January 24th is all I'm saying.

Nope :c
25. Do you know which teachers your TC is friends with at school? If so, do you like those teachers?
She doesn't really have friends, per say. She's friendly with her colleagues (my homeroom teacher, for example) and can be seen talking to them, but I don't think she's actually friends with any of them.
26. Why does your TC's voice sound like?
Why? Probably because she's speaking?
All jokes aside — soothing. My next story post is gonna prove that.
27. Do you like your TC as a teacher? Are they a good teacher?
She's bloody fantastic at her job. One of the best I've ever had, and this is not just my bias speaking. The woman scored herself an in-school award for teachers THE YEAR SHE CAME HERE. Believe me when I tell you: she's that good.
28. Does your TC prefer books, shows or movies?
Knowing her, probably books.
29. Is your TC stern or easy going in class?
A bit of both. What she needs to be in that given moment.
30. How would you describe you and your TC's relationship?
Close. Sometimes we get along like a house on fire, other times we don't at all seem to understand each other, but even so, I'd say we're close. And I don't mean to be assuming shit here, but I think we both mean a lot to each other, though on vastly different levels.

i like to remark that’s the day the US legalized gay marriage in all 50 states back in 2015 so i was born to be gay. 🏳🌈🌈

6. How has this pandemic been treating you?
at first i thought it would be great but i’ve been stuck inside ( i literally have not been passed my mailbox or even near it ) for 3 months or so now. i’m ready for it to be over because i would like to enjoy my summer while i still have the opportunity.
overall i’m stressing myself out and unmotivated to do a lot of things.

8. Recommend a movie.
Birdbox. Sandra Bullock is in it ( reason enough for me ) it’s a great sort of horror/thriller movie that really builds suspense by your imagination. if you’re easily scared i do not recommend it because your mind will definitely work against you.
A milder movie ( that isn’t horror ) would be Mad Money. it is a hilarious movie about 3 women from entirely different backgrounds that work at and rob a high security bank ( and all for different reasons ). the characters are quirky and well put together.
both are on the US netflix but i’m not sure about anywhere else.

not old enough to drink yet. yet.
10. School, University, Occupation, Other?
i’m in university. i’m studying to become an accountant ( but so far my business classes have only taught me how to destroy the economy in my favor while jumping through legal loopholes oof ).
11. Do you prefer heat or cold?
definitely cold. i hate both if we’re talking weather but i can cope with cold. i tend to get even more tired in the cold and it helps me sleep ( hibernate technically ).
12. Name one fact about you that others may find unusual.
well... if i’m being honest, i have very horrible eyesight ( i’m almost completely blind in one eye ) and people seem more than a little worried when i tell them i can incapacitate a humanoid target from a 100 yards ( ~92 meters, at least ) and i have the target poster to prove it.
i won’t get into it but if you want to know how that poor poster is doing just let me know.
13. Are you shy?
relatively. if i know you, i’m the loudest damn person you know, or if it’s a matter of discussion, i tend to have a very powerful persona ( or so i’m told ).
generally i will not talk to people and keep to myself though. people make me nervous and i struggle to cope with anxiety so i don’t go out of my way to talk to people ( so i just end up sneaking glances if you pique my interest but i can’t say anything to you ).
14. Do you have preferred pronouns?
i prefer they/them, however, i still align with female attributes so she/her is legit too. whichever, i’m not picky about it.
15. Biggest pet peeve?
slow walkers. this might not be #1 but it’s definitely up there. i walk incredibly fast ( especially for a person with short legs ) and have long strides. if you’re in front of me and blocking my way, you can bet i’m going to mow you over. i will not slow down.
16. What is your fave ‘dere’ type?
the first one to come to mind was yandere and it’s probably true. it’s the mindset of the yandere that draws me in. if they’re written and played out well they become people who we’re teetering on the edge of becoming if we aren’t careful. i love that terrifying feeling of “i could be that if i just step wrong”.
17. Rate your life 1-10, 1 being really crappy and 10 being best it could ever be.
i really don’t want to do that, because i’m in an okay place and sometimes i’m in bad or good, but really it depends on the moments, people, and little messages that make it better. just depends on the time of day.

Everything Of Note I Have To Say About “Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil” Season 4!
As I’m sure you’re aware, the great animated series Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil has recently concluded and I have a ton to say about it... So I made a list!
1. Spoilers...
2. Duh...
3. Before anything, I absolutely loved it! This was the finale this great show really deserved.
4. Let’s start from the beginning: I’ve been watching Star Vs. for a few years now when a good friend of mine recommended it to me. At first I was resistant because the advertising for it at the time was god awful, but luckily I was convinced otherwise and been loving it ever since.
5. The show premiered when I was a teenager, going through all the cliche teen shit. So seeing a show that portrayed the overly dramatic life of a teenager without being one of those stock teen dramas was a good change of pace.
6. In particular, I remember being amazed that it could be so relatable while still being able to have it’s upbeat and fast-paced fantasy/sci-fi action sequences and world while also having a good mixture of mature and juvenile humor. I mean, all of that would seem to work against each other and yet this show made it work in spades.
7. Actually, the way Star Vs. uses it’s fictitious setting to complement its down-to-earth characters while juggling great humor reminds me a lot of a different Disney property: Guardians Of The Galaxy. GOTG, I think, is the perfect film to study if you want to ever write for sci-fi or fantasy because director James Gunn understood that you can have as wild and crazy of a world as you want but you still need to write your characters as genuine as possible. If you don’t, you’ll get something like Avatar (the movie); a film that everyone remembers liking because of the incredible world and even better effects, but no one can name a single character or plot-point. The universe still needs to be grounded by the characters or else it’ll become forgettable and un-relatable. Star Vs., thankfully, does not have this problem. I love the characters, their trials, their tribulations, all because they feel real despite the world in which it takes place.
8. That isn’t to say there isn’t a reason to set a story in a fantastical world or that there isn’t an issue with being too relatable. If anything, the world of the show helps to make it more entertaining, less monotonous, and more unique. Without it, Star Vs. would be another Pretty Little Liars or Zoey 101 or Dawson’s Creek or any other boring teen drama out there. They’re practically identical because they start off too similarly! They all follow around relatively normal teenagers in a relatively normal world with their relatively normal life and god do none of them stand out. So Star Vs. separates itself by still keeping its characters pretty wacky and the universe as crazy as Daron Nefcy’s imagination!
9. Even by a storytelling perspective, this makes more sense because there is objectively more that can be done! By the end of Zoey 101, Zoey and her lame crew basically did everything they could do without jumping the shark too much. In comparison, there are countless adventures Marco and Star could go on even past the series finale.
10. And because the number of future adventures are countless, part of the tragedy of the show ending is that we (the audience) don’t get to experience them alongside these characters we’ve learned to love so much. Keeping that door open leaves a much longer lasting impression on the audience, as apposed to the ending of Zoey 101 in which... wait, what happened again? I don’t remember. Anyways!
11. I love the comedy in this show! From the very beginning, the humor was very lighthearted and yet mature because it had to be. It had to have a tinge of maturity to it because the target audience isn’t little kids like it would be for a show like My Little Pony or SpongeBob. Star Vs., with it’s doomsday atmosphere and constant teen drama, was definitely geared more towards older children/preteens. The ones more likely to watch a show like Gravity Falls or Rick And Morty and this audience will not tolerate childish humor. They can appreciate it sprinkled in here and there but if used too much, they’re taste will sour. This is because as they are maturing to to start maturing into adulthood, there is the natural need to separate from childish things with the added childishness of wanting to totally separate from it. That’s why on The Loud House, a punchline could literally be poop and why that is not something you’d see very often on Star Vs.
12. With that said, the show still needed the humor to be incredibly lighthearted because otherwise this show would be so depressing! The worlds in which these characters live in and know are constantly changing, evolving, and almost blowing up. For Christ sake, many important characters die in this finale! The only one who died in Gravity Falls was the villain and in this, the villain isn’t even one of them! Seeing Marco and Star still be able to crack jokes to one another and making each other laugh keeps spirits high. God knows Hekapoo can’t do that now!
13. Speaking of Marco and Star, I have been a hardcore Starco defender from the very beginning despite the show constantly trying to convince me otherwise! There are so many perfect pairings in this cast that any one of them could’ve worked if Nefcy were top change her mind. If it ended with Star x Tom or Marco x Janna or Star x Janna or Marco x Hekapoo or Marco x Tom or Marco x Kelly it would’ve worked perfectly well.
14. But lets not kid ourselves, it was always going to end with Marco x Star. Their relationship and chemistry is unmatched, they might be the only couple in existence to say a joint line like “With or without magic, we were always meant to be together,” work and come off as not only sincere but true. I don’t even believe in the whole “soul mate” mumbo-jumbo, but I’d be damned if they are not that!
15. I audibly squealed in delight when they finally got together. It was like the build-up of four season culminated in one scene.
16. Though it wouldn’t really surprise me if I was alone in this assessment because I am a sucker for a good romantic movie. I saw La La Land in theaters, I cried at Love, Simon, I actually really love Love Actually. And though I do think Star Vs. pulled off relationships better than most, take my opinion with a grain of salt because the build-up itself was a little grating.
17. I have a huge issue with “will-they, won’t-they” stories! It’s the same issue I had with The Office and Friends and The Big Bang Theory and Sailor Moon and That ‘70s Show and every other show that has this dumb trope! Of course they’ll get together because otherwise I wasted several hours of my life wondering about it! Star Vs. isn’t as bad about this as most others but it’s still there and it’s still annoying.
18. It does this better than most because of three main components: it’s relatively short, we get plenty of Star and Marco being all lovey-dovey with each other once they do get together, and they do have genuine chemistry together. They have so much chemistry that Star’s ex literally told Marco that they were clearly into each other. If only they could’ve avoided the trope.
19. Okay, this next point is a little personal but it did effect my feelings towards this show’s finale so I think it’s kind of important that I mention it. Around the time the Star Vs. was ending, I was just entering my first real relationship and around the time I watched this finale, we lasted long enough that we could start taking the relationship a little bit more seriously. Now before anyone says anything: everything’s going great (she actually made me my header) and I am absolutely still in a honeymoon phase with her. But I think you could imagine how a lovesick teen just entering a serious relationship would be effected by this show that ended with lovesick teens so in love that they’d happily sacrifice themselves for the other.
20. I may or may not have also been high while watching this and that may or may not have effected my viewing experience. Don’t be a narc!
21. I love what this last season did with Ludo. Push away the fact that they somehow keep talking Alan Tudyk into these rolls he clearly does need to do and yet still does a great job at it (did you know he was King Candy in Wreck-It Ralph? Why? Why did he do that? Why is he so good in it? This guy’s casting decisions are so weird). The character of Ludo was a generic comic relief villain (see Doofenshmirtz) but was usually fine if only because he made for a good contrast and was way more interesting compared to Toffee (played by Michael C. Hall, another actor who does not need this job). But season four made Ludo a million times more interesting by showing his obsession with the wand exactly what it is: and unhealthy obsession that he needs to get over. And I like where he’s left by the end, clearly still not doing too great but is making strides to get better. As someone who has known many addicts in my life, this hit home a little.
22. Actually, I think a large part of season four was specifically meant to fix the first two mediocre seasons. Just look at my new favorite episode of the series: Britta’s Tacos. In this episode, Star and Marco find themselves back on Earth after a year of being on Mewni and catching up with all of their friends and seeing what’s changed. Watching this episode, I was reminded that as good as the first couple of seasons were, the latter half of the series was a ton better! The characters, character arcs, stories, everything, everything was better once they went up to Mewni. So seeing them go back to Earth and challenging the writers with rewriting their past characters to be more interesting showed just how much the series has improved. Could you imagine characters as uninteresting as those nerds I don’t even remember the names of being introduced in the much more interesting latter seasons? I couldn’t! So I appreciate that they went back and made sure every character in this show was interesting... except for Toffee, he still sucks.
23. And of course, the character that improved the most, hands down was absolutely Jackie Lynn Thomas! She was as bland and boring as a love interest got and that bothered me from the very beginning. How is it that in a show this imaginative and unique they still felt it necessary to use this tired cliche. So bringing her back, the writers had to do something to make her more interesting and it was apparently really easy. All they had to do was keep the character herself basically the same but now she’s a lesbian. And somehow, just adding that one extra layer made her feel so different, so interesting, so complete. I think that’s what it was, she just felt like an incomplete plot point and giving her a girlfriend completely separates herself from being important to the plot and adds that extra layer to make her seem more finished as a character.
24. I’m actually really surprised by this recent trend of LGBTQ+ characters in kids cartoons. You’d think that of all mediums, kids cartoons would be the last to fully integrate a controversial minority but they’ve been some of the first. Steven Universe really started this trend but I feel like The Loud House was the first to show and say it outright. Star Vs. doesn’t do it that well (and I’m willing to bet that was because of higher-ups over at Disney) but I appreciate the sentiment anyways. They never call Jackie and her girlfriend a couple or show them kissing, the most they do is have them hold hands and though I guess that’s enough, I wish they were able to go further. Whatever, I already wrote about why this representation in kids media is important, go read that.
25. For a while, Star was my favorite character in this show. I just have a real soft-spot for upbeat female badasses (and I am very happy this has become more of a trope recently), I think Janna might’ve taken the throne. It’s not that Star stopped being interesting or anything like that, I just really love Janna and her “Jannanigans”. Plus, I do really like the “cute girl who’s into weird shit” trope too. She’s not my favorite version of this trope (see Raven from 2003′s Teen Titans), but she was always a delight whenever she was on screen.
26. Tom is probably the most obvious example of “boring character was made interesting” that the show has. In the beginning, he was the standard bad boy archetype but, over time, was given more personality and started working off the other characters much better. Sure, he and Star worked great with each other as to be expected, but I think the real standout relationship he had was with Marco. I have never seen bromance as strong as what those two have. Their little musical number at Queen Moon’s cornonation turned talent contest might have been the greatest piece of animation ever made (change my mind). And this I know people agree with me, I cannot exaggerate just how much literally everyone I have ever spoken to loves Marco and Tom. It just works so strangely, it has to come off as genuine.
27. I think the series was supposed to go on for another season. I say this because Kelly was too good of a character to waste like they did! She was a great character with tons of personality and amazing chemistry with Marco that was seemingly building up to something... only to drop the ball at the end. She isn’t given much to do, she doesn’t have a final scene with Marco, she isn’t even given a good ending. The most we got was Ponyhead theorizing what her life would be like just to cheer up Star. If that was all they were going to do with Kelly, that’s just a waste of perfectly good build-up.
28. It’s very strange how on the nose these metaphors in the show got at times while still seeming perfect. I guess it had to be on the nose so that the younger audience could catch on to them but I’m not sure what the’ll do with the knowledge that magic=nuclear power. Also, the monsters kind of changed metaphors, originally they were clearly meant to be Native American stand-ins but later on they kind of changed into African American stand-ins. Not that they’re histories (in America) are all that different but it was a noticeable switch. It’s not like Zootopia where any given animal could represent any number of races depending on the scene in question, this was definitely what Star Vs. was going for and I’m not sure if it totally worked. It didn’t NOT work, I guess.
29. I actually don’t like the whole “blowing up the magic” thing. It was something Star made up in a temper tantrum and goes totally against the theme. The whole time, the show was going on about how important integration is and how “separate but equal” doesn’t work and whatnot. So destroying the only way they know how to travel through different dimensions seems contrary to that point. I get that drastic times need drastic measures but I get the feeling that in a theoretical season five, Star and Marco would work to bring back the magic. Or maybe find a more scientific way to travel through dimensions... like some kind of portal gun. We already know this takes place in the same multiverse as Rick And Morty, it’s not that crazy an idea.
30. Another reason I think there was originally going to be another season is because the whole “Mewmans are humans” thing that came right out of nowhere! I mean, it makes total sense and I’m totally down with this plot point but it seems like that would be a much bigger deal than the characters make it out to be. My god, they don’t even let Marco finish explaining this. How the hell did that cave painting get to Earth if they didn’t run into Glossaryck until they got to Mewni! Explanation please!
31. I wish destroying the magic didn’t also mean killing off Glossaryck and Hekapoo. I don’t really care about any of the other characters literally made out of magic, but those two are just so likable and such fan favorites, it’s just a shame to see them go. Though I do really like that they’re reaction to the whole thing seems to just be a mild shrug. I get the idea that since they’ve lived for millennia which would make them more okay with dying. It’s easier to live a full life if you can’t die.
32. I like how Mina’s story ends: defeated and yet still refusing it. Her whole speech about having good ideas really says something, like these issues will never be fully defeated because everyone thinks that they’re right. It’s a bit more of a bittersweet moral than “bad always loses because they’re bad” but is an important lesson that I think kids need to learn. Especially in this political climate. Good god, just end me!
33. Holy shit, I’m up to 33! My Wakfu one only made it up to 25 and I am nowhere close to done yet!
34. A psychotic part of me really wishes the finale had Star and Marco die in each other’s arms in the Magic Dimension. It’d be the ultimate show of love as they’re sacrificing each other for one another and be the ultimate ending. I mean, what more is there to care about after the main two characters are dead? It’d be very bittersweet and much more emotionally taxing on the audience but it’d also be more classic. Like Romeo and Juliet or Bonnie and Clyde, they’re love was just too strong for this world.
35. With that said, that part of me is absolutely wrong! Having their dimensions merge was clearly what the series was building up to with it’s hopeful tone, the power of love being a big theme, the message of integration, and (of course) the promise they made to Meteora and Hispanic Meteora. It seems so obvious in hindsight and yet I still didn’t see it coming, I guess that’s a sign of a really good plot twist.
36. My god, everyone is such a dick to Queen Moon. Like let her be in love you jackasses. I had such a hard time liking anyone who worked against her (which is why I really like that Hekapoo had reservations on both sides the whole time) and this includes Ex-Queen Moon. I really can’t grasp my mind as to why she thought this was a good idea, it clearly wasn’t from the very beginning. Maybe if the show gave her time to explain herself I’d be singing a different tune but she never really does and I have a hard time forgiving her even after her apology.
37. This is just a reminder that Starco is best ship. Repeat, Starco is still best ship.
38. The ending reminds me of Titanic. I mean, two young lovebirds meeting each other, growing closer, and falling in love all the while a looming threat of destruction and death is above them. The epic scale of their problem being brought down to earth by the almost normal love story happening in the midst of it all. Their ever ready willingness to sacrifice everything for each other. Their world forcing them to cling to each other for protection. The grand scale of everything around them making their love seem grander than it would be without it. Yeah, there are more and probably better examples I could turn to for comparison (Romeo And Juliet, Les Miserables, Spartacus) but Titanic was the first one to come to mind and I’m sure my subconsciousness has a good reason for that.
39. I continue to have problems with this finale but I get the sense that I’m nitpicking because this was still an amazing end to a great show. When I think about this ending, the first word that comes to mind is deserves. This is the ending that the story deserves, that the characters (minus Kelly) deserves, that the show itself deserves. It really is a fantastic finale and I’m so grateful that I got to experience it.

Nope! Maybe I was subconsciously named after my grandpa though!

Ugh like two nights ago, it sucked.
3. Do you have/want kids?
I’ve always wanted kids but I’ve changed my opinion a lot and now only want kids under certain circumstances or times of my life! Eg. I’m only 20 right now and can still barely look after myself so if I somehow got pregnant I’d definitely be seeking an abortion. Hopefully in my late 20s I’ll be in a good position and with someone I love and be able to have kids then!
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I’m a pretty sarcastic person!
5. What’s the first thing you notice about others?
I have absolutely no idea! I don’t think about this a lot! Maybe the forehead?
6. What’s your eye color?
My parents used to say it was hazel, but then they said green when I was a bit older, and now it looks blue sometimes apparently, so I don’t really know, but I generally go with green!
7. Scary movie or happy ending?
I love a happy ending! That’s not to say there’s no value in scary movies but I like the feeling of hope as well!

Yes, I am. Safiyah is an Islamic name, one of the name’s of the Prophet Muhammad’s wives. It’s most common meaning is ‘pure’, but it can also mean ‘friend’.
2. When was the last time you cried?
today. while I was listening to Paul Kim’s the road. i got emotional but what’s new?
Paul Kim’s voice is just so lovely and he sang that song with such emotion. plus his expressions in the MV really got to me.
3. Do you have kids?
hahahahhahahahahahhah no.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
a whole bunch with family and friends. it’s quite fun.

buckle down, it’s gonna be a long ride.
I have two precious little furrballs. One calico kitty named Chiquita, and one grey tom cat named Rocky. And we’re currently fostering a kitten we named Ginger.
Chiquita, for some strange still unknown reason, had a phase when she a wee babe where she ate our socks. Or would take them to her little stash of ‘toys’ under the couch. Which we didn’t know about then. It’s where she kept bottle caps, mismatched socks, more bottle caps, and tissue. She specifically liked polka dotted socks, which we found out when I wore my favorite pair of polka-dotted socks and she attacked my feet and tried to get them off me. Rest In Peace you fabulous socks you. She’s mostly obsessed with thread now. Not ribbon. Not yarn. Thread. She will lunge at you if she sees a stray piece of thread on you. Many a times I’ve screamed this way. But she’s harmless, I swear.
Rocky is pretty mellow. He’s such a sweetheart. He’s so patient with everyone, his sister included. Even when she smacks his nose. Which happens quite a bit : ) He has this thing with straws. He likes to kick them around and chew on them. And he pretty much will take any straw you give him, but he absolutely LOVES Starbucks straws. #basicbitch I think he like to unwrap them and then get the straw. Like a little prize. So now every time we go to Starbucks we get him a straw. He also likes to roll in dirt. Like he really loves it. He sees a pile of sand and just goes fucking crazy. And he gives such warm snuggles.
Ginger is kinda new to the house, so we don’t know that much about him. But he’s a tiny tiny baby kitten so he pretty much craves attention. And hates being alone. He’s incredibly active too. Wild. And so loving.
Oh god I’m writing an essay. I’ll stop now.
12. How tall are you?
idk? is this something everyone just knows? like how much they weigh? because let me tell ya, I know neither. I think somewhere in the 5″ mark.
13. What sports do you play/have played?
I used play soccer in school. I once scored a goal for the opposing team, unknowingly. Which was a bummer because it washy first goal and I was really excited and I was celebrating. My friend was just standing next to me shaking her head. So, yeah, I think that tells how good I was at soccer.
I also played basketball and baseball with my brothers. I sucked at basketball. I did like baseball though. It was fun. We don’t play that much anymore.
14. Favorite subject in school?
It’s always been Language and Math. Algebra really but, Math overall, I guess.
I just always like reading in Language class. And vocab because I would just whip out my thesaurus and have fun. Yes, I just used “thesaurus” and “fun” in the same sentence. Yes, I am nerd. Deal.
15. Dream job?
I want to be a freelance artist. Work from home. Have my own online shop. Just live the dream.

It’s kind of a mix?? Like I leave my clothes folded on top of the drawers rather than putting them away bc the drawers stick and it’s just easier access. The messiest thing about my room is that I’m a human magpie who likes collecting shiny/interesting things so I have a lot of stones and bits of metal or ceramic and some nuts and bolts lying around pffft. XD But mostly I keep things kinda tidy.

For myself, personally? Lots when I was a baby bc I had chronic ear infections and would literally just scream 24/7 and never sleep, I was in so much pain (poor tiny Matt. :(((( ) Once because I had a really bad migraine around age 13 that literally would not go away and had me throwing up every other minute and in such bad pain I wanted to literally die. And once recently when I felt super sick for months and months and finally went only to find there was nothing wrong with me?? turned out it was my gluten intolerance but dear god I had never felt that sick.

Just my asthma preventer (and I forget to take that a lot and end up not being able to breathe as well as I should, bc I’m the World’s Biggest Dumbass :)) XD )

Physically: Not being able to breathe. Emotionally: The people I love ending up hating me just because I’m me. There’s a lot of irony to unpack there but I’m just gonna set the whole suitcase on fire. :)

1. the meaning behind my url
To be honest, the meaning behind my url is layered. A big part is the “ex” at the beginning. Exscurus embodies my hopes for Credence in a way. I want him to be able to put being an obscurus behind him. I want him to be able to heal to the point that being fragmented, so fragmented that it threatens his life and in a sense traps him in fear and unhappiness, is no longer necessary for him to survive. So in essence, I want him to find acceptance. I want him to find love so he’s an ex obscurus. Dumbledore has implied that’s possible and I want it to happen more than anything. I went through a lot of url ideas before I found one that both sounded cool to me and actually had a lot of meaning to me, and I feel like this one really hits the nail on the head.

So I work in a gas station that also has a kitchen (thankfully I’m a cashier, I can’t handle kitchen work with my anxiety), and we’ve been having some extremely serious staffing issues recently. On Thursday, the team lead (who admittedly never does her job to the fullest capacity, and most of the time doesn’t do it at all) straight up didn’t come in - didn’t call, and didn’t bother showing up. So that night I spent the entire shift running registers essentially by myself while the two kitchen workers took turns occasionally popping out of the kitchen to help me out. That’s fine, I can survive that.On Friday it was way worse than that, though. That same lead had the nerve to actually bother to call off that day, and then because when we’d gotten off work in the morning the managers had said something about us not doing enough, another coworker called off because she was upset. (How the hell could we do more when there were only three of us??) Then, my third coworker stayed for only three hours of the shift and left. The help who stayed past her shift left maybe thirty minutes later.I ended up completely alone for four hours and I had to turn people away from our kitchen because I couldn’t run registers and kitchen at the same time. A few people got angry because I haven’t been trained to give refunds for online orders, either, so when those went through despite everything else in the kitchen being shut down, that was also a nightmare. Oh and someone came in with what the security guard was 99% sure was a gun and asked for one of my coworkers and left when he found out he wasn’t there. Overall that night was horrific and I cried like three times.

Chapter Four:
It was finally the weekend and you were relaxing at home watching Netflix on the projector screen in the theatre room. Taehyung had installed an incredible sound system and had leather recliner chairs put in. The entire room was soundproof and blacked out so no sunlight could get in. It must’ve cost him a mint but it was definitely worth it in your opinion because it felt just as though you were at the movies.
You were currently engrossed in the latest episode of your drama, a romance about a man and a woman who were childhood sweethearts that were separated, only to meet again as adults 10 years later. They try to carry on and make their love work but fate keeps getting in the way. This week’s episode was an emotional roller-coaster in particular. The couple were facing another challenge and it looked as though this might be the end for them.
“No don’t give up! He loves you!” you cry at the screen. Your hand clutching the tissue box tightly.
You anticipate what might happen next when your phone starts ringing, ruining the moment. You consider letting it ring out until you see that it’s Taehyung calling.
Weird, he never calls.
“Hello?” you sniffle trying to compose yourself. “Taehyung?”
“I left my wallet at home.”
“Oh you did? That’s a shame” your attention is drawn back to the screen and you reply absentmindedly. As the lead female turns to leave the lead male grabs her arm and spins her around dramatically until she falls into his chest. He stares at her with longing and slowly leans in.
This is it! Finally! You think to yourself.
“Yeah…can you bring it to me?”
Their lips touch and the scene slows down as the background music starts playing.
“Yes!” you cheer, jumping up and down in your seat in excitement. You had been waiting for the two leads to kiss for weeks. However, your moment of joy is fleeting as you quickly remember that you’re still on the phone to Taehyung.
“Wait what did you say?” you ask.
Taehyung lets out a deep sigh before responding “I need my wallet, I left it on the kitchen counter.”
“Oh, yeah okay not a problem” you tell him “Where are you right now?”
“I’ll text you the address, don’t get lost.”

You didn’t get lost. In fact, 20 minutes later you found yourself standing outside of Taehyung’s agency. This was the first time you had been there since the two of you got married and you had always wondered what it was like. You were also curious to see Taehyung at work.
Looking around you note that the place was just like you had imagined. The building was incredibly spacious and it almost felt like you were walking into a hotel. The white walls were decorated with expensive looking art pieces as well as portraits of the models and actors in the company. The décor was clean and minimal, favouring white marble and silver hardware. The entire place screamed money.
You stop at a painting that catches your eye. It looked like the painter had taken a black canvas and drawn a bunch of lines in various different colours. The lines were all crossed with each other and the entire thing looked messy but for some reason you couldn’t look away. You don’t realize that you have zoned out until someone calls out your name, pulling you back to reality. You turn around surprised and see Jay approaching you.
“Hey what a surprise to see you here!” Jay exclaims smiling widely. The first time you had met Jay he was wearing a black suit but now he was dressed casually and you immediately note his unique outfit. He was wearing a blue striped dress shirt with bright green sweat pants and red sandals.
“Are you here to see Taehyung?” he asks.
You smile back politely and nod. You’re not completely sure how to act as the last time you had been around Jay you had cried like a baby in front of him. Just thinking about it made you cringe with embarrassment. The media still didn’t know that you were pregnant so he had kept your secret, for now.
“He forgot his wallet so I came to bring it to him” you hold up the wallet and show him.
“Wow you’re such a loving wife. Come on I’ll take you to him.” Jay replies indicating to the nearby elevators with a nod of his head.
You follow behind Jay and as you both wait for the elevator you take this chance to clear the air.
“So listen…about that other night. I’m sorry I cried, that’s not like me at all. I don’t usually cry in front of strangers.”
“Don’t be, it’s understandable given your situation. Hell, I was going to cry for you,” his light-hearted comment makes you chuckle and you can tell he’s trying to make you feel better.
“Thank you. And about what I said, you know about the pregnancy…”
“Don’t worry my lips are sealed. I won’t tell anyone your secret” he zips his lips and throws away the key.
You’re relieved at his words and you feel a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. Taehyung hasn’t mentioned anything about making your pregnancy public and you didn’t know what you would do if word got out because of you. You couldn’t even begin to imagine how he would react.
Would he be angry at you?
Wait a minute you think to yourself. Why do I care if he gets angry? I’m the one that’s pregnant. It’s going to come out sooner or later so why do I need his permission?
“…and he can be such a diva” you catch the end of Jay’s sentence. Wait when did he start talking?
“Sorry, what was that?” you ask.
“V. He’s always so private with his belongings, I’m surprised he let you touch his wallet. Although I guess it makes sense since you’re his wife” Jay replies.
“V?” you repeat the name unsure but then you remember that Jay had called Taehyung that the other night as well. “Do you mean Taehyung?”
“Yep, in high school his nickname was V. I call him that every now and then”
The elevator door opens and you both walk in. Jay presses the button for the fifth floor and the doors close.
“You’ve known him since high school?” you enquire curiously.
“Since we were kids actually! We both moved here from the countryside” he boasts proudly. “I know all about V. Did you know that he used to be really ugly? It’s a miracle that he grew up to become a model”.
“What no way!? I don’t believe you!” you reply back shocked. There was no way Taehyung could’ve been an ugly kid. The man was a walking god. He wasn’t born, he was carved from gold and put down on earth ready to break women’s hearts.
“Believe it! Here I’ll show you a photo.” Jay pulls out his phone and shows you an old photo of two boys, probably around six or seven, sitting in a sand pit. You recognise one of the boys immediately as Jay because he had the same smile. Beside him sat someone you didn’t know. He was wearing overalls and holding a bright red bucket full of sand. His dark hair was messy, sticking up random places and his face was grubby. His mouth was opened wide to show two missing teeth.
“See that boy chubby boy?” he pointed to the boy in overalls and you nod in response. “That’s Taehyung.”
No way! You can’t believe your eyes. There was no way the chubby little boy in this photo could be Kim Taehyung. There was no sign of the world’s top model at all.
“This is a joke, right?” you ask as Jay shakes his head.
“What other photos of Taehyung do you have?” Taehyung didn’t have any childhood photos of himself around the house so you were curious now to see what he was like.
“Oh! Oh! I’ve got the greatest photo to show you!” Jay exclaims excitedly. He bounces up and down on his toes as he scrolls quickly through his phone trying to find the photo. He finally stops scrolling and whatever it is it must be hilarious because he starts to laugh uncontrollably.
“What, what is it?” you query, leaning closer to Jay. He shows you his phone and the moment you see the photo you burst out in laughter. You laugh so hard your side begins to ache.
The photo was of a teenage Taehyung, probably in his early teens around thirteen, posing for the camera. He was wearing black pants with a black leather t-shirt and around his neck was a thick gold chain with a large dollar sign pendent, similar to the ones you see in old rap music videos. To finish off the look he had a white bandana tied around his head. However, it wasn’t the outfit, though hideous as it was, that had you both in a laughing fit. It was the face Taehyung was pulling.
He had his bottom lip between his teeth and his face was tilted back, giving the camera his best seductive face. It was terrible. It was also the greatest thing you had ever seen.
Kim Taehyung was famous for his smouldering and seductive stare that made girls faint. It was dubbed the “drop-your-panties” stare by his fans. You had seen it on a billboard once when he was advertising a cologne and you had almost crashed your car. It was definitely worthy of the name.
However, the Taehyung in his photo was anything but sexy. He looked like an absolute dork. You felt as though you had just won the lottery. This was the perfect blackmail. There was no way in hell Taehyung would let this photo see the light of day. If you had this photo he would never cross you.
“You have to send me this!” you gasp for breath. Your brain was already going through ways in which you could use the photo to torture Taehyung.
“I’ll send it now, what’s your number?” Jay takes down your number and sends he photo true to his words.
You clutch your side and brace yourself against Jay’s arm trying to pull yourself together. You’re both still in hysterics when the elevator door opens and you see a familiar face.
“I was wondering what was taking you so long”
The moment your eyes take in Taehyung you stop laughing. You feel as though all the air had left your lungs. Standing before you wasn’t your husband but the most famous model in the world. Taehyung was dressed in a navy-blue uniform jacket with gold buttons and matching navy-blue pants. The jacket was buttoned all the way to his collar and you wondered if he was wearing anything underneath. His hair was styled in loose waves and his fringe covered most of his eyes.
You couldn’t help but gape at the vision in front of you. If this was a scene in your drama there would be a spotlight on Taehyung and angelic singing. You could practically hear the church choir in your head.
Taehyung’s gaze drops to your hand on Jay’s arm and you immediately pull your hand away and straighten yourself.
“I didn’t ask you to come here and flirt.” Taehyung scoffs noting how close you and Jay were standing.
Your feel the heat rise to your face at his remark. The nerve of this punk!
You can’t believe he just insinuated that you were flirting with Jay. Before you can shoot back a response Jay beats you to it.
“Aww V are you jealous?” he slings an arm around Taehyung’s shoulder’s and squeezes him in an affectionate way. “You know I only have eyes for you.” Jay lays his head on Taehyung’s shoulder and bats his eyelashes playfully.
Taehyung looks at Jay in mock disgust and shrugs him off. He places his hand on Jay’s face and pushes him away replying “Grow up Jay!”.
Jay clutches his cheek and pretends to be hurt. “How could you be so rough with me you evil man?”
You chuckle at their banter. You had never seen Taehyung be playful and so the scene was refreshing.
“Go away. Don’t you have a meeting to get to?” Taehyung scolds kicking Jay in the butt.
“Fine, fine I’ll go. Just know that I’ll never forgive you, you heartless man!” Jay cries dramatically before turning and giving you a mischievous wink. You smile back at his ridiculousness.
Seeing the exchange between you and Jay, Taehyung takes a hold of your hand and pulls you back into the elevator. “Whatever, we’re going now. Bye” he says before hitting the Ground button and closing the doors, not bothering to wait for a reply.
“Hey!” you begin to protest but stop when Taehyung silences you with his stare.
You were going to scold him for being rude but you decide to let the subject drop. Instead you stand in silence with Taehyung as the elevator descends. The soft melody from the speakers filling the space.
You sneak a glance at him from the corner of your eye. His side profile is just as nice as his front you admire. His long earring catches your attention and you’re surprised when you see it because you hadn’t realised that he had his ears pierced. You start to count how many piercings he has.
As if feeling your eyes on him Taehyung glances your way. “What?” he asks catching you off guard.
“Huh? Oh, nothing” you reply back smiling sheepishly at having been caught staring.
You reach the ground floor and you notice that Taehyung is leading you towards the exit so you ask him where you were going.
“I’ve finished work” he replied matter-of-factly as though that explained why you were both walking towards the nearby convenience store.
As if reading your mind again Taehyung adds “I’m hungry, I want some ramen”.
You both enter the store and the old man at the counter welcomes you. You quickly send back a thank you and chase after Taehyung who had already disappeared down an aisle. You find him in the dry food aisle looking at ramen. He picks out 3 packets and turns to leave but stops suddenly and grabs another.
Is this guy seriously going to eat 4 packets of ramen?
You hand him his wallet and as you make your way to the counter to pay, a group of high school girls walk in and the moment they see Taehyung they start to fuss, clutching onto each other in excitement. You glance at Taehyung to see if he’s noticed his admirers but he appears to be clueless. He hands over the packets of ramen to the old man who begins to process them.
“Oh my god, I can’t believe that’s Kim Taehyung. He’s so hot!”
“He’s so tall! Oh my god I can’t breathe”
“Who is that girl with him? She’s so ugly”
“Yeah who does she think she is? That’s our Taehyung”
Even though they were whispering you could clearly hear what they were saying. You glance at Taehyung again to see if he could hear but his attention is still on the old man. Most likely not.
You try not to take notice of what they were saying because they didn’t know you and you could understand that Taehyung was their idol and they felt possessive of him, however it was hard not to take their words to heart. It was like you were back in the toilet listening to those ladies gossiping. You weren’t an idiot. You knew that marrying Taehyung would open the door for people to ridicule and talk about you and at the time you thought you could handle it and brush it off, but hearing people criticise you in person is a lot different from imagining it.
“Why would she wear that? It’s so ugly”
“Taehyung oppa should be with someone prettier”
Every one of their comments felt like a knife to you heart and you felt all of your insecurities rise to the surface. Don’t listen to them, they don’t know you. You bit the inside of your lip as you try to fight back the tears.
“He looked so much better with Anna”
There was that name again. Anna.
“Yeah they were perfect together. Anna is so much prettier”
I know she is.
“And taller”
I know she is.
“Anna deserves to be with our Taehyung. Not this cow”
Please stop!
You close your ears and pray for them to stop. You don’t know how much more you can take before your tears threaten to spill.
You suddenly feel someone take your hand and when you open your eyes you see that Taehyung has your hand in his, your fingers interlocked. You glance up at him and find that his attention hasn’t shifted. Earlier you had thought that he couldn’t hear the girls but it was clear now that he could. He had heard everything and this was his way of comforting you.
You feel that same little flutter in your stomach and you can no longer hear what the girls are saying.
Your hand looks small compared to his and you notice that his hand feels surprisingly rough. You can feel the spots where he had callouses from lifting weights. Most women would find rough hands a deterrent but you find yourself not minding it. You like the way your hand feels in his. You couldn’t remember the last time you held hands with a man and this felt nice. Safe.
Most of the time Taehyung acted cold and aloof and you assumed that he didn’t care about anything but maybe you were wrong?
Thanking the old man, Taehyung take the bag and turns to you, his expression is soft.
“Come on, let’s go home”
That’s all you need to hear before you nod.
He squeezes your hand as you walk past the group of teenagers who have summoned up the courage to talk to him.
“Taehyung, could we please get a photo with you? We’re really big fans” one of them asks, smiling sweetly.
She’s the one that called you ugly.
“No, sorry. I’m busy with my wife. Also, I don’t need fans who say unkind things” his replies coolly and brushes past them.
His response shuts them down completely and when you turn back to look at them their faces are a mask of shock and disbelief. You feel a little bit bad for them but the feeling is short lived.
One you hit the sidewalk Taehyung leads you back to the front of the agency where his car is parked. You continue to walk in a comfortable silence, your hand still intertwined with his. Perfectly content.
What is this feeling? Why is my heart beating so fast?

My parents didn’t care what I really watched as a kid so a lot of my favorites consist of actual kids movies and horror movies. And then other movies like Underworld, Van Helsing, Halloween, and Resident Evil. I had a strange obsession with the third Resident Evil.

I can’t remember the exact line, but “that kid from Brooklyn who didn’t know how to walk away from a fight, I’m following him,” which Bucky says to Steve in the first Cap film. And obv any Mean Girls quote.

I wanna say it’s Josh Hartnett? Maybe Paul Rudd?? I loved the Halloween movies as a kid and Josh was in H2O while Paul was in the Curse of Michael Myers and I loved them both. As a kid I didn’t really care much about the actors, but I’ve realized a lot of people I liked in movies as a kid are now some of my favorites.

Like I said, loved the Halloween movies. Jamie Lee Curtis. Also Milla Jovavich.

I will always, with my entire heart, love Lion King 2. I still have the VHS tape.

Ocean’s 8. Robin Hood. Solo. Ant-Man and the Wasp. Incredibles 2. I wasn’t that into Venom, but after seeing the trailer, I’m pumped.

The Apparition was made a while back, but i didn’t watch it til recent and I really didn’t like it whatsoever.

Like the Apparition, Dance of the Dead was made a while ago, but I watched it about two months back and oh. My. God. It was glorious. Watch it. It’ll be worth it.
37. Share an unpopular film opinion you have.
I love romance and I don’t mind seeing it in movies that don’t necessarily need it. I mean, of course I draw the line somewhere, but for example, Kili and Tauriel’s romance in the films? I know it wasn’t in the book, and a lot of people didn’t like it, but I loved it.
38. Favorite Oscar win/speech.
This is a tie between two speeches that happened right after one another at the 2017 Oscars. Gael García Bernal’s speech before presenting an award, and the Zootopia directors’ speech when they came up to accept that award. It’s truly a wonderful thing and I remember watching it and being so grateful for people like them.
39. Biggest Oscar snub(s).
Literally. Every. Time. Leonardo. DiCaprio. Lost.
40. Who do you think is overdue for another Oscar nomination/win?
Tom Hanks.

Oh my god, I don’t know the name, but it was something that was on tv at like 2 am when I slept in the living room one time as a kid and it terrified me. It was something about werewolves and made me question my love of werewolves for days.

Gifted. I cried three times when I saw it in theaters and I cry every time I rewatch it.

Notes taken during Super Bowl LII
KITTEN AND PUPPY BOWLS
Is this the first-ever Kitten Bowl to go to overtime? Tied at 28. Feline Manning throws deep. Macaroni grabs it in the end zone. Touchdown! 34-28 Panthers, final score.
I've never thought much of Feline Manning in the regular season, but you can't argue with his results in the Kitten Bowl.
There's a new Puppy Bowl stadium? This is embarrassing. The taxpayers are getting fleeced again.
OH HELL YES. THE REFEREE AT PUPPY BOWL IS A SLOTH.
Update: Puppy Bowl is tied at 14 after a quarter. It's anybody's game.
Dammit. Should have called it a pupdate.
Puppy Bowl is 24-21 in the second quarter. It's quickly becoming apparent that dogs can't play defense.
Pupdate: Fluff 28, Ruff 24. Presumably, we're deep into the second quarter.
Now it's 31-28 Ruff. Still in the second quarter. I'm sure Puppy Bowl XIV is on track to destroy the all-time record for total points scored in a single game.
Last second touchdown! Fluff pulls off a 52-47 win over Ruff!
PREGAME
Okay, I've got a beer, dinner is on its way, and I'm settling in to finish this project. The only reason I've finished this is that I'm a stubborn SOB. This hasn't been fun for about 6-7 months now.
A feature about Tom Brady's mom. She had cancer in 2016 and was only able to be at one of his games, Super Bowl LI. A nice story.
Oh, cool, now Dan Patrick asked Brady when he knew he could be great. It's no longer a heartwarming story about his mom, now it's about slurping on Brady.
Patrick comparing Brady to Michael Jordan. Brady says he doesn't think about that very often. Could never be compared to his childhood heroes.
Brady has no idea how he'll fill the void when he retires. Maybe coach his kids. He's happy his kids are old enough to see him play. His son didn't pick him in fantasy football. Took Cam Newton instead.
You know what NBC should do more of? Talk about Tom Brady. I wonder where they rank him on the all-time list.
Now it's a feature about the Eagles defense. Not a ton of big names, says Chris Long, but they have a bunch of good players.
And then they end it with more about Tom Brady. Good. More of that, please. I never get sick of it.
One thing I've noticed, in watching all these Super Bowls, is that the team with the better defense wins more often than you'd expect. If one team is offense-reliant and the other is defense-reliant, the defensive team wins a bunch of games. That would be the Eagles here.
Rodney Harrison: Patriots will run short passes and screen passes to avoid the Eagle pass rush.
Commercials. Zelle. Applebees has a quesadilla burger. George Washington crossing the Delaware Turnpike for Geico. Turbotax. Promo for a new NBC series, Good Girls. It's not about puppers, unfortunately. Promo for the Olympics.
NBC bumps in with a bunch of sound bites from Eagles and Patriots fans. The Patriots remain the worst. I hope this old guy gets to see an Eagles championship.
Rodney Harrison: Tom Brady gave me a hug, told me he loves me, and gave me a little wink. I've seen that wink before. That means he's going to have a big game.
Dungy and John Harbaugh talk about how loose and calm the Eagles seem. Harrison says the Patriots need to come out and start fast. Can't fall behind the Eagles like they did last year against Atlanta.
Harrison picks the Patriots. Harbaugh picks the Eagles, says they'll hold New England under 24. Dungy picks the Eagles, says he's fallen in love with Nick Foles. Dan Patrick doesn't pick anybody. It's good to be the host.
Commercials: HQ trivia. You can watch the game in Spanish on Universo. Local ad for Tim Hortons. Local ad for Columbus Cyberknife prostate cancer treatment. State Farm insurance. State of Ohio PSA saying you shouldn't drive drunk. YoutubeTV. The commercial for Youtube TV includes a bunch of NBC programming.
Time for the "Youtube TV kickoff show". Starts with a Carrie Underwood song. Great. This is where I need a fast forward button.
There's a rap breakdown in the middle of this Underwood song. They show Super Bowl legends including Roger Staubach during that part of the song. Staubach has been one of my absolute favorite players to watch in these Super Bowls, but he is the least "hip hop" person on earth.
Al Michaels: This is a league built for parity and the Patriots are on the cusp of their sixth championship in 17 years. Eagles have a history of success, but have never won a Super Bowl.
Cris Collinsworth: Everybody knows Tom Brady, but not Nick Foles. But Foles is capable of having a tremendous game. Had one of the greatest seasons in NFL history in 2013. Chip Kelly says you're welcome.
Commercials: A really long commercial for Mass Mutual that involves people singing a Pretenders song. Red Sparrow.
Eagles walk out to the field. NBC runs a montage of their players introducing themselves. "Donnie Bag of Bones Jones" is the punter.
Patriots now. "Chris Hogan, Penn State lacrosse." I wouldn't want to be associated with their football program either. (Also, he didn't play football in college.)
It's very clear very early who the fans in the stadium want to win. The Patriots are loudly booed as they take the field.
Commercials: Kraft, US Bank, Mercedes Benz, Terrell Owens for Pizza Hut, Winter Olympics Promo.
Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. J.J. Watt, unsurprisingly. He did a ton of work to raise money for hurricane relief after Houston got leveled.
America The Beautiful. Leslie Odom Jr. I genuinely have no clue who this person is. He can sing, though. He nails it.
It turns out Leslie Odom Jr. played Aaron Burr in Hamilton. This would explain why I don't know who he is.
The Star Spangled Banner. Pink. She also nails it.
Commercials. I spaced out and may have missed one. The Quiet Place. Lionel Richie for TD Ameritrade. Big Mac.
Michaels: What's the most likely way the Eagles win this game? Collinsworth: The offensive line and defensive line. They need to be able to run the ball and they need to be able to pressure Brady without blitzing him. It's hard to imagine that this game could come down to anything other than Tom Brady.
Coin toss: Medal of Honor winners. Very cool. Herschel "Woody" Williams will toss the coin. Won the Medal of Honor for valor at the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II.
The referee called him Willie Williams. Oof.
Now he called him Corporal Wilson.
Eagles call tails. It's heads. Patriots defer, Eagles will receive.
Michele Tafoya: Eagles coach Doug Pederson told Nick Foles "You're not Tom Brady. Be Nick."
Commercials. I spaced out again. Is there a new Jurassic Park movie? There was a thing for that. Also YouTube TV.
NBC bumps in from commercial with a bunch of sound bites from past Super Bowl heroes. Staubach, Namath, Hines Ward.
FIRST QUARTER
Okay, kickoff time
Line-drive kickoff. Clement takes it out to the 25.
First play, pass right to Agholor. 5 yard gain.
Agholor for 2 more yards on second down. Michaels says Foles completed 15 passes in a row at the end of the NFC championship game. It's 17 in a row now.
18 in a row. Foles buys time on third down and hits Alshon Jeffery for 15 yards or so.
Well, there's an incomplete pass. Torrey Smith can't come up with the ball on a 2nd and 12 downfield pass.
Smith more than makes up for the incompletion - goes up the ladder to make a 15 yard catch on 3rd and 12. Eagles approaching field goal range.
Eagles running a bunch of "RPO" plays. (Run-pass option.) Ajayi runs for six on first down. Next play is a screen pass to Corey Clement. Takes it to the New England 5. The Patriots were blitzing and got burned. First and goal.
2nd and goal from the 2. False start on tight end Zach Ertz. Ouch. Offensive penalties inside the 5 are brutal.
Yep, that false start penalty was a killer. After incomplete passes on second down and third down, the Eagles will attempt a field goal.
Got it. A chip shot field goal ends a 14-play game opening drive. 3-0 Eagles. NBC bumps out to commercial with "The Underdog" by Spoon, which is cool.

Eagles kick off. It's a touchback. Then more commercials.
Commercials: Solo, a Star Wars story. With Donald Glover! Nothing brings it down quite like Dr. Oz in the next commercial. Ugh. Go away. Turkish Airlines. He is Turkish, so there's that. Promo for a new show called Rise. Looks like a musical. Great.
Stop me if you've heard this before. Brady completes a short, outside pass to James White for a first down. 15 yards. Next play is a pass to James White. Because all he does is catch passes in the Super Bowl. That play's wiped out after a 12 men on the field penalty on the defense.
Brady to Chris Hogan underneath, coming across the middle, for a gain of 28. They're inside the Philadelphia 30. Next play is an end around to Hogan for four yards.
Brady to Gronkowski coming across the middle. Another completion, another first down at the 14.
Oh, hey, it's a completion to James White. Gains six yards, down to the 8.
NBC is using a white line to mark the line of scrimmage which is horrible and I hate it. I can't tell which is the line of scrimmage and which is the 10 yard line. Brady throws behind Gronk on third down and the Patriots settle for a Gostkowski field goal attempt.

Big, big run for another Duck, LaGarrette Blount. 36 yard rumble into New England territory. Collinsworth says the Patriots asked Blount to take a pay cut, he said no, and went to the Eagles.
TOUCHDOWN! Foles deep to Alshon Jeffery, who makes an incredible grab in the end zone.
