You know what? You're a lover of crossovers. I feel that you would really enjoy "The Mystery Kids." It combines Gravity Falls, Coraline, and Psychonauts. Unsure if you've heard of Psychonauts though.
I actually really like the Mystery Kids (though you’re right, I’m not as familiar with Psychonauts).
I don’t do a whole lot with them because I have so many of my own crossovers I need to write out *laughs weakly at the looming pile of papers behind me* but I love stuff people have come up with it.
My Sibling has a few of their own spins on it that they bounce ideas off me for that I love.

just because ralsei is mysterious doesn’t mean he’s “evil” and just because he’s nice and cute doesn’t mean he’s 100% innocent. ralsei is a sweetheart but it’s also pretty clear at this point that he at the very least knows more than he says. we might not know his exact motives, but his loneliness and pacifism are genuine. it’s the combination of all these traits that gives ralsei depth and intrigue and makes him such an interesting and loveable character. theories are important as we try to work out what his role in the story may be, but there’s no need to jump to either extreme.

This convo is missing bits of it (like Susie standing up for Kris by scaring off these two who didn't realize she and Kris were there eavesdropping while the two were bad-mouthing Kris) but we got a bit more info on the spooky and secluded bunker in the woods that's making vaguely Gaster-ish distorted noises if you listen closely post-main-game???
Seems like there's a bit of history between this bizarre bunker and Kris... Did they go into it at some point in the past? Was it on a dare? Who else was around to have heard about this or seen it happen to tell others about it? Did this place already have a "reputation" before Kris' experience with it? Must've been quite some time ago for vines/roots to have grown over the door a fair bit since then? What's Kris' connection to this place? Most pressing, WHAT HAPPENED???
From the way the other monster-teens here talk about it, it sounds like rumors or a sort of ghastly urban legend spread and they told a tale about Kris and this bunker that isn't a pleasant one... Hmmm...
This is an interesting nugget of information on this particular place... but it also definitely raises more questions!
What do you all think?

So I know this show has some massive ramifications for the multiverse and the MCU at large, but this (extraordinarily painful) sequence also rhymes quite well with themes in both Journey Into Mystery and Agent of Asgard.
Loki, "born to cause pain and suffering and death," cursed to that role because it protects the proper flow of time, even as he rails against it.
If this show travels anywhere near what we saw in JIM and AOA (which, for the record, I think it will in at least a thematic way), we are not only in for a real treat but a massive amount of emotions.

to everyone thinking what the fuck!? how!? i think i know what particular comic arc they were getting at with this...
and it’s my favourite ever journey into mystery (2011) (and yes, that’s also the episodes title so i feel pretty confident in my assumption, along with how he's wearing the same outfit as kid loki in the JiM comics!) beginning with issue 622 introduces (kinda, he did technically debut a few thor issues earlier) us to kid loki who discovers a prophecy stating that asgard will be destroyed and thor will ‘take nine steps and fall’ - that is, he will die. the overarching theme of JiM was about loki’s desire to change and become better, to escape his villainous role. he knew he couldn’t do this without dying first, and is reborn as kid loki with no memories and only minimal magic. (old loki stuck around as a magpie that gave kid loki advice/ominous messages most of the time.)
kid loki upon learning of this prophecy hatches a plan to try and thwart it. he does his best, and it’s best you seek out the comics themselves (i’ll post a link to #622 in the replies of this post) but the main kicker is that he doesn’t succeed. he gives a good show of thinking he might succeed, but in the end...
thor still dies. loki had tricked his way into saving the people of asgard (score one!) but had not succeeded in saving thor (score -1000.)
and notice that the actor playing kid loki in the loki series doesn’t declare i killed thor boastfully, he spends most of the episode seeming sort of. quiet and sad. it’s very...this panel:
something else that really says JiM’s loki were these lines (specifically kid’s line...)
when so much of kid loki’s JiM arc was about wanting desperately to change, can’t help but think this was making JiM reference again. that and how both kid and richard e. grant lokis both decline mobius’ offer of escape - grant!loki for his ‘glorious purpose’ (which also calls very much to the death that starts the event of JiM) and kid because, well. he’s not going to recieve a warm welcome back home considering what happened.
tl;dr: don’t worry kid loki’s not evil and well he just feels really bad about the whole killed thor thing, but he didn’t technically kill thor anyway.
