it's about time i officially shared my design for Clip from my hairdresser au! here's the silly boi himself!

a.k.a. the most complicated character i've ever designed...

that's my boi, despite his crazy design, i love him. his silly top knot hat, the horn-like points around his faceplate, his speckled colours, his four arms, and his funky pants. he's just soooooo fun.

Clip likes to play games and knit! he even made the patchwork pants he wears (he made Sun and Moon a pair too, but they're too precious for them to wear... also a little gaudy to wear in public—doesn't stop Clip tho!). He actually makes everything the boys wear, since there's not a lot of things in their size/shape.

instead of resting at night, he can be found in their living room, playing Kirby 64 for the nth time and/or knitting something. he's just too restless to stay still, he's always gotta be doing something and if it isn't gaming, knitting, or hairdressing, then he's up to No GoodTM.

Clip... likes popping balloons. he says "Goodnight!" with each popped balloon and once he's done, he tosses up the scraps like confetti all while giggling joyfully.

needless to say, he is not fun at parties. Sun and Moon don't let him near balloons for this reason.

and yes, he has sewing needles on hand at all times. for fashion emergencies... and for unsuspecting balloons.

Clip's not allowed to have a phone (just imagine all the in-app purchases Sun and Moon would have to deal with), but he likes to keep up with his customers and their games, even if he doesn't get their fixation over bluenets he'll never openly admit it but he prefers curly-haired blond hunks that look sweet in soft pastels but could also squash him like the spider he is

also, he's great at microbraiding! though i imagine if Sun and Moon are free, they'd come help to shorten the wait but also to compete and see who braids the most (Clip always wins of course—make anything into a game, and he's winning)

aaaaand there's this! i wanted to make sure Clip would be able to freely rotate his waist so his arms could have their full range of motion, and this was the solution i came up with: a crop top on top and a wrap around his waist. and Clip here is being a sneaky little scamp about it.

Spider-man irish chain quilt. I mixed flannel and cotton for the bugger blocks and it made it a very nice/interesting texture to run your hands over!

I’ll have to keep this in mind for another quilt, because I like the two tone look with stark white accent.

(I forgot to take a photo after it was quilted and sent out! I need to start reminding myself to do that. LOL I get excited the project is done and rush on to the next one.)

I feel like some people tend to be annoyed with the tin woodman in the patchwork girl of oz for not letting them tear a wing off a butterfly, but really it’s perfectly in character.

First thing’s first, animals are sentient in Oz, including insects, as we know from H.M. Wogglebug, thoroughly educated, and he is known for his kind and wonderful heart and wanting to treat everyone with kindness. It is, of course, a reoccurring theme that he is highly sympathetic to insects, therefore he’d probably view everyone equally, including insects.

But that’s not the only reason.

In this scene, he argues how painful it would be for the little creature, who is very sensitive to pain.

He rules Winkie country. The yellow butterflies are under his rule.

But originally, he was from Munchkinland and was born under the Wicked Witch of the East’s rule. She literally forced him to dismember himself by enchanting his ax because he fell in love with a servant girl.

He knows FIRST HAND the kind of pain that the butterfly would go through.

And worst of all, this is happened at the hands of the his ruler. She let him be harmed in this way because he (like all of her subjects) was small and defenseless and she didn’t care about him.

The yellow butterflies come from winkie country, they’re under his rule and are his responsibility.

He wants to protect them.

HE DOESN’T WANT TO BE LIKE HIS TYRANNICAL DICTATOR.

HE WANTS TO BE A GOOD RULER.

HE WANTS TO PROTECT HIS SUBJECTS LIKE HIS RULER DIDN’T PROTECT HIM.

HE WANTS TO PROTECT HIS BUTTERFLIES

honestly you're right to ship sango with anyone. she was hands down the best character, and the one i most identified with/wanted to be.

ships-wise i was pretty exclusively a sesshoumaru girlie, and i shipped him with EVERYONE. sango, kagome, kikyo, kagura, i would read it all. sometimes i would read koga fic just because i liked his whole insta-mate bond shtick and how devoted he was to it.
