I've been so negative to the LA so heres a few things that I genuinely loved. Spoiles ahead. duh.

Sukis eye make up. the yellow blend into red? a nice subtle change to her character design that reallly adds to her

Zuko having those avatar dolls and their eyes lighting up. was cute

Zuko getting so hissy and destroying his room cuss his journal was missing. very relatable, very silly, the way Iroh is just kinda there realllly shows their dynamic well and also shows how Zuko IS just a stressed teenager

all the maps and drawings on the walls. they are very pretty and I'd love to have some of them irl

the entire scene of Suki and Sokka training together. Sokka slowly following her, Suki directing his moves and changing his forms. it felt like a dance and reallly highlighted how beutiful and deadly martial arts can be. it was also just filmed very sweetly with little noise beyond a sound track and grunts. Genuinely the best scene of episode 2 (and maybe the whole show).

Zuko unirioncally trying to fight Kyoshi??? it was so random but SO fitting. I aspire to be as stupid as this dumbass.

Sokka going "leader vs leader" to Zuko when asking him to fight was very cute and I HOPE they keep this style of interactions in like season 3 if they get that far.

JET USING THE HOOKS ON HIS SWORDS TO CONNECT THEM AND USE THEM AS ONE LARGE EXTENDED SWORD??? so intresting. SUCH a good use of props and how dynamic the fights in this show COULD be.

Longshot. Idk they are just so funny to me, I love how they are just casually posed on a tree as they shoot the first arrow.

the mechanist telling Sokka that he's tallented when it comes to engineering. it was very sweet, although I feel like it might bite the writers in the ass eventually. but for now it was very sweet.

I know in a past post I complained that Aang taught her bending to much, BUT Jet helping her open up about her mother and it helping her bending was an intresting take. I can see why people would hate it, but also why people would like it. Its intresting, its unique, and introduces an intresting paralel of Katara struggling to bend because of her emotions, and (hopefully) zuko facing that same issue later on in the series.

OMA AND SHU. best change of the entire series, truly the ultimate step up from the og, it works so well. I've seen this change in fanfiction and always loved it there, so happy it's now in a cannon media. Also the art work as they explain is very very beutiful.

Jets actor is honestly pretty fucking good. his "I thought you were on our side. On my side" speech in episode 4 was very sweetly done and it FELT complex with his emotions. espeically the choked up "i am nothing like the firebenders" MY GOD. Its a different take on Jet that shows a bit more of his sympathy then in the show and I think it realllly works. Props to the actor.

Zuko struggling to lie during episode 4 and make up excuses as he walks around the prision. Its so fucking funny to see him struggle and be all "well...my comanders gonna be pissed if I don't get to my duty in times" its so funny. I love Dallas I think he does a great job with Zuko and his characterisation will only get better if the show continues.

changing it to Sokka and Katara in the cave from Aang and Katara is honestly pretty cute? I know it takes away from the building romance with Katara and aang (although the show has cut so many of their interactions then this time it really WOULD feel forced) BUT it does work to expand and examine the theme of family that Avatar as a thing LOVES. Its espeically sweet arfter we've seen Katara and Sokka struggling deeply with each others wants and desires earlier in the show (espeically since this is stright arfter Jet). ( I am slightly pissed that its KATARA who is the skeptic in the tunnels. they could have the same argument with Katara being the one to believe. but oh well). Their argument was well worth it, it was long building, and truly felt like the two had buckled under the stress of leaving their tribe. Plus with the glowing crystals its like they are surrounded by stars which I think adds to the idea of missing home.

finishing the song secret tunel to then go "yeah there doomed!" with the biggest smile on his face. 10/10 comedy.

The arctitexture of the Omashu palace AND the crystals he bends are extrodinarily stunning. I mean the crytals look like smash beer bottles when broken, but when they are crystals???? suppper pretty.

ZUKOS PONY TAIL DOES THE PONY TAIL SWING BACK AND FORTH! Okay I know this is dumb, ut in the animation it didn''t happen as much or as extreme so it pleases me that real world physics are happening. Plus its just so silly.

The earth benders talking about how much was LOST during Irohs siege of ba sing se was pretty powerful. I've always been slightly irked that they wash over Irohs past and that he is JUST a good person, so it felt pretty cool that they took the time to kinda have him be....confronted by it? "I was a soilder" "you were a butcher!". It was a very quick examination of grief and ptsd, we got to see Irohs own sort of views about what happened, we got to see another persons desire for revenge because of the war, it was an odd scene for what we know of Iroh but it WAS intresting.

The funeral scene. "what a great honour for you and Lu ten to die in service of the fire nation" AND THEN ZUKO ACTING LIKE IT WAS WRONG TO SAY THAT. god. And then offering the medal that lu ten gave him to Iroh to properly comfort him? I was sobbing. It was a beutiful examination of Zukos conflict with what is expected of him, and what he WANTS to do. and then sitting by his side when no one else would? and Irohs tears only NOW comming once Zuko joined him? It was reallly and beutiful scene. I am so happy they added this.

genuinely when it was revealed that the tunnels where changing??? chills. I expected it. but it still shook me to my core. Maybe its cuss of the funeral scene before hand but either way props to them.

Okay so the animals sometimes looks goofy, BUT they also express WHAT they are so well. I love all the animals they look so fluffy and silly.

Iroh using the chains against hte earth soilders, once again some fun fight choreography and I am living for it.

Katara finding the badgermoles reacting to emotions with like...wonder and then Sokka going all "soo uhhh Mr badgermole" Was SO cute and in character.

Sometimes theres issues with the earth bending speed, but in the Bumi and Aang fight I found all the speed rather fitting. When he threw rocks, he THREW them. espeically the smaller rocks those shits are DEADLY. I mean that recreations of the animations scene where he bends over the rock looks goofy, like I get it but it didn't quite translate well BUT The rest of the fight looked pretty good. (and whilst I GET why it was important for Aang to face this challenge of this or that, it was upsetting for BUMI to be the one to do that. There are multiple other characters where it would make more sense, with Bumi being an old friend it just feels wrong. "you think like a child" "Is that really so bad?" was very sweet though.). I think Im a little over critical of what they've done to Bumi. it is a sweet story line and I can KINDA understand Bumis stance. realistically it wasn't that awful of a change its just jarring cuss its BUMI. Love his dress though I think it REALLY adds to this diversity of cultures and earth kingdom citys.

Seeing Zuko with that bandages arround his head and all his hair kinda really hurt. Also the use of leaves from the vine again. very sweet. "home. everything I need is on this boat" IT MADE ME SOB SO FAST. For all this shows changes, the changes they do with Zuko and Iroh work. The way Zuko saw the air bison and STILL chose getting his uncle to safty over even mentioning them? wonderful.

THE ICE DISKS! KATARA LITERALLY SAYING SHE GOT IT FROM THE EARTH BENDERS! its pretty cool. I like that they are already going deep with the benders taking elements from other bending styles is super fun!

is it weird if it makes me glad you post about jk and his little "jeonlous"/possessive moments towards jm? i tried talking about it on a few jikook blogs in the past and got called out for it and i don’t really get why some jikookers are so careful to even suggest jk might be a bit possessive of his bf.. meanwhile some other jikookers greatly exaggerate those moments or see them everywhere. jm is insanely attractive, he has this sort of special aura and magnetism that makes both men and women be drawn to him, i don’t find it weird that jk could be a bit worried about that. i honestly found it quite cute, but i was told i should question myself if i find display of jealousy cute cause it’s toxic blah blah blah so i started doubting myself. but i wasn’t talking about toxic behavior, jk never came across to le as controlling or creepy or anything like that but just madly in love and probably a bit insecure. much less now it seems, i’m happy he seems more confident. for some people it seems that there is no nuance, it’s either good or bad.. i like reading your posts, you don’t seem to be constantly on the edge it’s appreciable really

First of all, people who say Jikook don't get jealous.. fuck these people with a cactus. People be shouting Jikook is real from the rooftop but nitpick which parts of their relationship are worth acknowledging. Some have been brainwashed by big accounts that hate the jeonlous, Jimlous narrative. Which I get. Alright? I understand. This has been greatly exergerrated but it doesn't mean it's none existent. And I already touched on this before; it's not even jealousy its mostly annoyance. Or irritation. Jikook can't Jikook without members having aneurysms but its okay for other members to be all over Jimin? All over JK? Of course it's gonna make them feel some type of way. I for one don't think JK worries a member is gonna take Jimin from him. Not even Suga. 😂 (we don't talk about Yoonmin 🤫) I think he trusts his man 1000% so his reactions are not about that. And there is nothing wrong with pointing this out. It doesn't make u a bigger person to pretend that Jikook don't get jealous it just make u a hypocrite.

I'm gonna go ahead and drop this Jimlous moment simply because I can and because I feel like it.

JK doesn't say "I love you" often unless it's to Jimin. He says "I love you too" to the members, but he rarely says "I love you" first. Infact I'm having a hard time thinking of a time that has ever happened. During this festa JK even admitted its hard for him to say "I love you"

But we know that's not true, i'nnit?

Anyway, that Jimlous moment up there could have been because JK never says I love you but suddenly he just goes "Jhope I love you" I can see why that gave Jimin pose. Even Jhope was surprised 🤭🤭 BTW that TT hasn't been edited or manipulated. OG moment here.

Also while I was looking for the OG moment I have to point this moment out as well.

That was Jimin being embarrassed by his boyfriend's behaviour and I find it hilarious.😂😂 that moment sits at the same table as this other moment of Jimin apologising for his hyperactive boyfriend 😆

What details have you changed on Teams RWBY and SPRN?

Glad you asked! Really, the only ones who haven’t been redone at all are Sun, Pyrrha and Ren, simply because I love their designs enough that there really wasn’t anything I wanted to change!

I am going to be showing pictures of all the outfits that have changed from their previous appearance. If one isn’t shown, it’s just because I haven’t changed anything about them, so this post is a bit long.

But now starting with Ruby:

Not much has changed overall for her Mistral design, but changing a few details have really pulled it from being my least favourite Ruby design of the lineup. It’s probably still on the bottom, but it’s far better than the first attempt.

I widened the gap in her skirt to show more of the red petticoat underneath, and took the V2 inspiration with her emblem being printed there rather than as an emblem on her cape like in the original. I like the more natural inclusion of it rather than the constant clip either on her cape of her belt, and it leaves room for her cross imagery.

Besides that, I added some silver buttons on her belt and the silver thorned stems on her corset. I think it looks cute and really adds to Ruby’s rose theme. The dog on her chest pouch was always there, but her pose in the original piece just covered it so you couldn’t see it.

Plus, I tweaked some of the colouring choices, namely on her gloves and the pins holding her cape. I didn’t know how to make them not look dumb and also keep the red on her arms to keep the colour flowing. I decided to go for a deeper maroon colour, and I really like that more toned back colour rather than the bright red from before.

Not much really changed for her Atlas design, and it still remains one of my favourite from Team RWBY as a whole. The only difference is that the silver thorn design on her corset carried over and stays on all her designs barring her first one.

I changed a few things around for her Vacuo design and I honestly like it more now.

It’s still very similar to the OG design, but I added the thorns on her corset, a pouch replacing the hanging bullets, and the silver inside of her boots were changed to a maroon instead. The silver before really did help set apart the red laces, but I think with all the extra silver she has now, the large areas of silver on her boots were just a bit too much.

Also, she now has a necklace! It’s a sunstone, and I like how it incorporates the goldish yellow from Yang into her design without being too much for Ruby’s more gothic colour pallete. I gave her the same maroon gloves from her Mistral outfit, it’s hot in Vacuo and her hands need protection when holding Crescent Rose.

Okay, biggest change for Ruby’s adult design is her hair. I actually don’t know why I didn’t change it since the OG is specifically for AZRE still, and the lore that SEW start showing white hair earlier on in their life has been established since new the beginning? So, idk why I didn’t do that in her adult one????

Either way, her hair is mostly white now. You can still see some reddish black on the tips, but by the time Ruby’s in her early 30s, which is the start of AZRE’s next gen sequel, her hair has gone nearly completely white.

I also changed the silver of the boots to white just so the colour flows a bit better and she actually have Weiss’ colour on her. With the addition of the thorns, all the metal, and the new silver lined pouch instead of her bullets, the silver is still kept pretty consistently in her design so I can sacrifice it in her boots for white.

Also her sunstone is still there, of course, and her maroon gloves. I just like how it adds a further level of protection for Ruby’s hands, and the darker colour helps with the black to excentuate the red. Her rose decal on her tights is a little hard to see, and I did mention perhaps lightening it in further drafts to see it better, but when I did it just looked too much and cluttered her legs, so I kept it black.

I’m starting to like it more, like a more hidden detail to her rose theme rather than apparent like her rose clapse and corset thorns.

Next is Weiss:

The only thing that I changed on her Atlas outfit was the shape of her boots, removing the red apples on the bottom and instead having the boot trim be the apple shape instead. I like it but you can clearly see that somehow the shape of an apple continues to allude me.

Now I completely overhauled Weiss’ Vacuo design, and I like this one a lot better.

I still kept some of the main features of the OG design in this revamped one. She still has the short, bell shaped sleeves, with added black gloves underneath for both protection and to balance the black on her design to include her arms. The pouch was also moved to the front, and I added a second black pounch on her belt.

Her long jacket style was changed to have a completely closed front rather than the open chest area, and the front white frills now go over her longer black skirt, keeping that wide skirt shape that Weiss uses while balancing the two colours more. Similar to that, I added thin tights to protect her pale legs, and darken her legs so that the white boots stand out more.

Her boots haven’t changed too much in look. They still have the black soles, silver trim and red gems, but they’re longer than before and the dip isn’t as extreme in the middle.

Fun fact, this was the original design for my Adult RWBY a few years ago, back when my edits were absolute garbage.

Same with her Vacuo design, I completely revamped the OG design for the new one. Before, it felt kinda old fashioned, in line with how Atlas was decades before, and I wanted to go more into a business woman style with Weiss’ known design features.

I replaced the more poofed sleeves for the normal bell shapes, with the black fur and the shorter black gloves. The actual jacket was made more into a long coat type, with the original strapless dress now more of a sweater dress like her atlas one, just now without the white trim and less poofy. I did keep the idea of the blue sash around her waist, but it’s tied at the front in a more normal way, and the large frill at the back let the red on the inside that you see mostly in the collar travel down to her legs, like her Beacon design.

I finally remembered the tights. The OG design was meant to have tights, but every time I kept forgetting because I would be using previous works as refs, and then remember like ten days after finishing. Either way, the tights work similarly to her Vacuo tights. They darken her legs to make the boots stand out, and also work in keeping her legs warmer than just having them bare, since she lives in Atlas.

Her boots are pretty much the same, just more form fitting at the top with added silver decal. The previous red details were swapped for black and really they’re kept pretty monochromatic, since the big red collar, the added red pin, and the visible red of her coat tails more than keeps the red in her design.

Along with the slightly different design of her crown, which is meant to allude to the petal shapes of Blake’s emblem, Weiss’ hair is longer as she gets older, but it’s never going to get as long as it originally was. She keeps it in a low ponytail similar to how it is in the OG version.

A minor thing for all of the Blake designs is that the scars on her shoulders are more visible, rather than being hidden by the straps of her backpack. Simply because of how big Iya’s claws are, it’s strange that they were so close together.

Now for her Menagerie outfit specfically. the upper half of her design remains pretty much the same; her top, backpack, different length gloves and ribbons, stomach scar, and her white belt and pouches were made bigger compared to how tiny they look on the OG draft. Her bottom half was changed up more.

Her previous pants were meant to try and replicate her canon Mistral pants, but honestly felt a bit plain since her boots are much shorter than the thigh highs. So I still kept the black pants with the purple tint, and added her emblem on her thighs with white lines similar to her V2 pants. Both the tint and the lines help to separate her black pants from her black boots.

The boots still have the paw decals and the white soles, but since her emblem is on her pants, I removed the metal emblems from the top of her boots and had them as stringed up boots instead.

Really, the only difference between these two is the colour of the top of Blake’s left glove and her inner coattails. Both were white in the OG draft, but i changed them to purple instead.

Similar to Weiss’ Vacuo outfit, I completely revamped Blake’s Vacuo look.

The style of her shirt is pretty much the same, but I added a hood with some cool shadow decals at the bottom, adding some white to the top of her head and also protecting Blake’s face in Vacuo. The gloves are pretty much the same, only that I changed her right one from black to white, just so there’s some white there and the black ribbons stick out and keep the black there also.

As much as I love showing scars on my characters, I did swap the more crop top for a completely covered hoodie and highwaisted shorts. They took up too much when I made them completely white like in the OG, so I had the top and bottom rolled up bits as white and the middle black. On the sides, she now has pockets similar to how Sun’s jeans worked also; extra storage and something to look at on her legs.

Her tights were black with white gradient in the OG design, but I decided to keep the purple tints just so Blake can have what little purple she does and stops her from looking completely monochromatic.

Her boots are pretty much the same also, I just added the silver buttons on the rim just like her Beacon boots, and because they look cute.

Her adult one is pretty much the same save for a few tweaks. You can’t see on the original because of the pose, but the front of Blake’s jacket didn’t actually have the gold buttons on them, which I decided to add.

The only other thing is her boots. The top rim was originally white, but I changed them to purple instead to separate the white rim from the white pants. Plus, I remembered Blake’s emblem and added it to her left boot, similar to how she wore it on her left thigh in Beacon.

Finally for the team, let’s do Yang:

Same outfit, but I actually remembered that Yang did in face lose her right arm so any pouches and things she needs to grab is on the left side.... where she can reach it.

Other than that, I added some gold metal on her boots and changed the yellow soles for black. It just concentrates the yellow a little bit better, and stops the bottom part of her design from looking a little lacking of her colour.

Same thing, her pouch was moved to the left instead, and the gold metal soles were added to her shoes. The silver armband was always a design point, I just never included it in the OG draft, and is actually one of Eirian’s silver wristbands that she gives to Yang.

Besides Ruby, the Vacuo designs really weren’t something I was jiving with.

For Yang, I swapped the leather jacket she usually wears for the more comfortable jock jacket. Is it the jacket I designed for her Ice Queendom redesign? Yes. Do I care? No.

I love the softer yellow sleeves and her emblems on the top, and the flames on her middle to add to her fiery design. Her pouch was moved again, the sash is more buttoned on, and the inclusion of her silver wristband is still there. Her shorts are still the same, just more detailed with added pockets and lines for interest, but the thigh high socks were replaced with shorter yellow and gold gradient socks and kneepads.

Boots kept the metal front like her other designs, removing the belts, and swapping the black soles for yellow. Overall, I wanted this design to be lighter, since I didn’t want Yang in so much black while in Vacuo.

Yang’s adult outfit has been changed twice actually. I had a previous version that I decided I didn’t like as much and redid it today, and this is the finalised version.

I honestly moved away from the leather, geared up biker chick that Yang was and instead went for a more casual, lighter wear. She has the lighter black jacket with different toned sleeves, both having ursa skulls as a little nod to her allusion, and uses far more lighter cream yellow in her design than black. I like to think her shorts are more like khakis, similar to what Taiyang wears.

Her socks are different lengths to add a little assymetry to her, and her boots moved completely from the buckles to velcro for easy access. Really, I wanted Yang to look more comfortable and settled in an calmer life, rather than all geared up and ready for a fight.

Onto Team SPRN, I only changed one outfit out of all of them which is Nora’s Vacuo outfit.

I mentioned in the ask talking about Team SPRN’s designs that I wanted to redo Nora’s Vacuo design since it was very similar to her Mistral one and I wanted to change it up a bit.

I still went for the original idea of the light hoodie but just fixed the proportions slightly. The thing rim of her sleeves are now clasps, the hoodie zips up in front of her white shirt, and her belted skirt is swapped out for a more pleated skirt and a white belt, adding another pouch for extra space. A lot of the buttons are heart shaped too, which I thought was cute.

Her short leg warmers were swapped for longer thigh high socks, which are now white with a pink gradient rather than the solid pink before. I wanted to protect more of Nora’s bare legs and keep the lighter colours throughout it, plus the pink on the bottom helps so that the white boots she wears are not lost in solid pink socks.

The belts on the boots are clasps to help secure the boots on, and I shaped the buckles as more hearts. Nora could always do with some more cute hearts in her look.

Looking at them now, I much prefer the newest version to her original.

MDZS original draft comparisons chapters 31-34

Other chapter comparisons.

Chapter 31

During the drunken ‘mine’ scene, WWX has Bichen on his waist rather than on his back in the first draft. I guess it just makes more sense for WWX to conclude LWJ was referring to Bichen if it was on his back when he pointed at himself.

In the og draft, WWX speculates that LWJ was helping him due to what he did in xuanwu cave. ‘Trying to clear his mind, Wei WuXian changed the topic. “You… How did you recognize me? Why are you helping me? Is it because of that time I slaughtered the resident of Xuanwu Hole*?”’

This change is probably because it is not in WWX’s nature to think about the things he has done for others, and also contradicts WWX’s assertion in ch.56 that LWJ has most of the credit for killing it.

Chapter 32

In the original, WWX doesn’t attempt to remove LWJ’s clothes before he wakes, he only removes his own. I think this change was made to draw attention to the burn scar on LWJ’s chest, as the backstory behind this is very much related to LWJ’s post-drunk reaction imo.

This ‘Wei WuXian laughed as he propped his chin up, seductively exposing a naked arm.’ was replaced with ‘Wei WuXian partially covered his chest with the blanket, leaving only his smooth shoulders out’ (i can't stop laughing at ‘seductively exposing his naked arm’... wei ying…)

This whole bit was removed (WWX's comments about NMJ here were replaced with the whole torso-slapping thing) ‘This time, the left arm was pointing south, and slightly to the west. It was directing them to either the right arm or the head.

Wei WuXian decided to pose while putting on his clothes. He continued to talk business in a deadly earnest tone, or perhaps he was just pretending to be serious: “I hope we find the head next. That way, your family can either draw a portrait of him, or invite all the xianmen families over to have a look, and we can finally figure out the identity of this good brother.”

But he only managed to say a few serious phrases before he started joking around again. “That being said, this good brother must be pretty good looking.”

After the burial clothes had been removed and the torso exposed, it was clear that this was the body of a strong and sturdy young man. Wei WuXian had been totally sincere in his assessment.’

MXTX be like he’s was being super serious, or maybe he was pretending. He was joking around, actually he was totally sincere. Honestly I find this all pretty funny. (Also I suspect it might be just an odd translation choice but… ‘decided to pose while putting on his clothes’ lmao wei ying…)

In the original draft, it is said that WWX’s kite for the arrow shooting game he played back in the Jiang sect was bigger than everyone else’s, and JYL had painted it. This was changed to say that both WWX and JC had kites constructed by JFM and painted by JYL, and that they both felt proud while flying them. If I had to guess, I’d say that MXTX did not want us to get the idea that JC was ignored or less liked by JFM & JYL compared to WWX :p

In the original draft WWX never bought (with LWJ’s money) baozi for those kids </3 because of this change, when LWJ comes out of the inn, instead of finding WWX playing & eating with the children…

‘By the time Lan WangJi had travelled downstairs, he only saw Wei WuXian sitting by himself on the steps of the inn, cackling. It made him feel rather confused.’

…The reason WWX was laughing was because of the ‘how can such a boring person make me so happy’ thing. When LWJ inquires, WWX says this ‘Wei WuXian rubbed his chin. “I’m still not saying. I don’t know why I’m laughing either, but I just can’t stop.’ (agh so cute <3)

I guess MXTX changed this because sitting on the steps alone cackling did actually make WWX seem a little too unhinged. Plus dishing out food to the kids was too cute.

This was removed during edits. “I must admit, I am quite inferior to you when it comes to saying things comprehensively and concisely. And also I… hope that the good brother’s grievance is directed only towards his murderers. Otherwise, we’re going to have to face a very resentful, spiritually powerful, highly murderous ferocious corpse after we’re done gathering his body parts.”’

I think the reason why is because it sort of contradicts MDZS law, we’re told that when a corpse has become as resentful as NMJ’s, it can no longer differentiate between the source of its grievances and innocent bystanders (hence why NMJ’s corpse attacks people beside JGY).

There were some edits made to the squabble WWX has with the juniors about Little Apple and Fairy. WWX claiming LWJ had gifted him Little Apple, and LJY and JL bickering about Fairy being fat was edited in. Amusingly, in the original, LJY still defends Little Apple’s name when JL insults it, but without the reason that he thought it was a gift from HGJ. Og draft LJY is just Little Apple’s biggest fan for no particular reason hahaha. I think the changes here were just because the edited version is much funnier. Also the argument goes on longer, so LWJ has greater justification to silence them.

This was removed ‘The thought was frightening and underlined just how grave the situation was. While no one would want to admit or accept it, it really was the most reasonable explanation. After all, there exist people out there who can restore half of the Yin Tiger Tally. My post maturity Harlequin design for my fic! The pose itself has no real plot relevance at all but this will be the outfit I will be working with

Design Thought Process

For the wings, I'd always resented the plainess of the ones he got in the anime. I mean, Elaine and Gloxinia got beautiful, eye catching glowing wings so why did King get shafted exactly? When I was looking at one of the covers of the manga, I say that he had this little sparse rainbow polka dot pattern which I liked but wished was a bit more if that makes any sense. So I mixed them together to make this!

The outfit: Can I start off with the fact that whoever told the mangaka to give him that stupid coat and forgo his cute little bulky oversized shirts from when he was small was a traitor to everyone of good standing? And it's just so boring- it's just anstupid suit with a cravat, like why!? Therefore, I decided to do this instead! The shirt is a mixture or his holy war and debut designs with some added magenta for and a bit of assymetry to have some form of the little horrible coattails from the current design. His pants are roughly the same as the ones in the canon post maturity design. The boots are mostly stream of consciousness admittedly.

Regarding the hair, I realized that a lot of people apparently hate the weird little mullet he's got. I was mostly unbothered by it (I hated drawing his og hairline even if it was adorable so it was a step up for sure) but then @/Aglio_Saggezza who wrote my favourite Ban X King fic "Never Knew Anybody 'til I Knew You" said in their end note that they would've loved to give him flowing hair and I got inspired! So I drew up some different hairlengths and shared it with my discord friends and they chose this little bob! I think it's cute, and really it's just a more full bodied version of what he canonically has hairlength-wise so I was all for it!

classic fred (several movies and series) - you truly cannot go wrong with this look. there’s a REASON they keep going back to the OG outfits and it’s because they rock. the ascot was a cultural reset and it still is. 10/10

what’s new scooby doo fred - a really nice, modern spin on the classic outfit. love me a stripey shirt. this is a fred who would bring me ice cream at 3:00am because i was crying because my girlfriend dumped me and he’s my good friend and lesbian ally. 9/10

a pup named scooby doo freddie - im just gonna say it i DON’T like this fred and it’s all because of his haircut. like my mutual marce said, he looks like a trust fund baby and he should have kazoo kid hair instead. 1/10

mystery incorporated fred - some people aren’t a fan of this series’ art style, but i don’t really mind it. he’s chinnegan junior and this series leans into that. some of the sdmi designs change a lil bit but this is just OG fred but pointy. he gets bonus points because this is one of my fav freds in terms of personality and that’s not really fair but this is my list of freds not yours. 7/10

scoob! fred - why the fuck his eyes so small 3.5/10

zombie island fred - THIS IS A TOP NOTCH FRED hes got his vest on his camera ready and god help anyone who dared to disrespect his queen. also this fred proves you don’t NEED the ascot to have a great fred, the ascot is just a bonus. 100/10

be cool scooby doo fred - okay we all KNOWWW the art style in this show is ugly as hell and i think fred looks the worst out of the gang besides scooby but he gets 3 sympathy points because the show itself is REALLY GOOD 3/10

live action fred 1.1 - VERY good casting for him and this fred also gets a bonus because freddie prinze jr. and michelle gellar were engaged and thats so cute. points are deducted from 10 for his weird OOC sexist comments 8/10

live action fred 1.2 - DO NOT LIKE THIS HAIR ON HIM i hate the bucket hat haircut and im glad it died. points are added from 0 for his improved behavior 5/10

live action fred 2 - HE’S NOT EVEN BLONDE 0/10

scooby apocalypse fred pre-issue 25 - a lot of panels and covers make him look like too much of a gun-slinging action hero (i found the best panel i could) but this is still a good fred. devoted to his kween and still the heart of the group, despite this series’ bleak plot. 8/10

scooby apocalypse fred post-issue 25 - UMMM SKIP THIS FRED IF YOU DON’T WANT SPOILERS FOR THESE COMICS IG. i’ve still got a few issues left before i finish this series so i’m not sure how it ends or if fred is brought back at all but THIS IS NOT FRED THIS IS SOMEONE ELSE POSSESSING FRED’S BODY AFTER HE WAS IN-CANON KILLED OFF BY ZOMBIES. VERY EVIL THERE IS NO SCORE LOW ENOUGH/10

Why Jimbei is the Perfect Last Straw Hat

Oda is very great at storytelling, but the way he structures his stories can have flaws. In most Shonen, the supporting protagonists, the main protagonist’s groupies, most of them are there from the start, or at least near the beginning. Think Naruto, Hunter X Hunter, or MHA. But if you go the Dragon Ball route, and your Goku just picks up friends along the way, it can be problematic. 1) Goku’s most recent friends don’t really feel like OGs 2) Some of Goku’s oldest friends get pushed to the side, especially if they’re not strong.

Oda went the Dragon Ball route. Luffy starts off all by himself and picks up friends along the way. He just has to not make the same pitfalls as its predecessor. Number 2) he has taken care of by default. Luffy’s friends are in his crew, so they’re always around and relevant. And even the ones that aren’t particularly still have to keep up. If they go on Luffy’s adventures, they kind of have to, or else they’d die. Oda’s struggle was with Number 1). We get Nami and Zoro very early in the story and they come off as the OGs. It’s hard to accept Usopp because he’s so strange compared to them. But then Chopper comes along and he’s the odd-ball out. He’s not just the first crew member to join since entering the Grand Line, he’s the first crew member to have a Devil Fruit (excluding Luffy of course). Now that Chopper’s the odd-ball, Usopp feels very natural in the crew. And all the East Blue members are considered the “OG”s.

Then Robin comes along. She’s a former antagonist and can’t really be trusted. Not just to the crew, but to us the audience. She often lied, and there were many things she said where we still do not know if they were lies or not (was that Eternal Pose really a safe way to Alabasta, or was it a trap?) Chopper was strange, but we empathized with his character greatly, and it wasn’t hard for us to want him to belong. Robin is new territory, and now Chopper feels normal by comparison.

Brook comes along, and sure he’s empathetic. But he’s also a freaking skeleton. If you look at any promotional art of the Straw Hats, he just seems out of place. There’s seven humans, a cute mascot reindeer, and then a skeleton... with an afro. Of course, when he joins we think to ourselves “I’m sure we’ll get used to him, we always do.” And then the next arc is Sabaody and they all get seperated. We don’t get time to get used to him. He joins one moment and he’s gone the next. And it takes quite a few post-timeskip arcs before he truly feels like an “OG” member. Wasn’t really until Whole Cake Island, as harsh as that sounds. But it’s true. The only other big arcs were Fishman Island and Dressrosa, and Brook dipped out halfway through Dressrosa.

Where am I going with this? What’s my point? It’s a cycle. The new Straw Hat always feels strange, but that strangeness secedes once a new, stranger Straw Hat comes along. If there is no new, stranger Straw Hat, it’s going to be a very long time for us to be used to him. So what is Oda to do, when he’s adding a tenth Straw Hat member in Wano, the second-to-last arc before the Final War, before the last Saga? If the tenth Straw Hat is strange and out of place, there’s not enough arcs left for us to get used to them. If the tenth Straw Hat isn’t strange, then they will ironically be the odd-ball by not being strange.

Jimbei is a strange Straw Hat, for sure. He’s the only one that was a Warlord, he’s the only Fishman, and he’s the only Straw Hat member that joined after the timeskip. But it did not take any time for us to get used to him. In fact, when he joined, we all embraced him in welcoming arms, saying “Finally! It took you long enough!!” Why? Well you know why! He wasn’t introduced in Wano. In fact, by the end of Whole Cake Island, he was technically already a member, on the condition that he survived. Even before that, Luffy offered him to become a member in Fishman Island. And Jimbei didn’t really say no, he said “there’s some business I gotta take care of first”, implying that as soon as he seperates from Big Mom, he’ll go do it. And even before then, he helped Luffy escape Impel Down, he protected him at Marineford, and he helped him recover from his loss in the Post-War arc. And even before then, characters were name-dropping the infamous Warlord Jimbei as early as the Arlong Park arc. Jimbei does not feel unfamiliar, he hasn’t for years.

Jimbei has effectively ended the cycle. He doesn’t need time to prove himself as a member because he’s already done that five times over. When One Piece ends, we will look at promotional art of all the Straw Hats together, and think undoubtedly “these are Luffy’s closest friends”. And yet at the same time, we went through the majority of One Piece without the whole crew together, always patiently waiting for the next member to come aboard. It’s truly the best of both worlds.

Summary:When you don't get your Hogwarts letter at 11, you spam Hogwarts with letters until they get pissed of and send you a human Dabi who thinks he is a house-elf. And he's always naked and hung. Crap.

(They have a forbidden forest with giant spiders, that can and will eat you, unless you raised the og spider because you thought it was a cute pet!). The thought that Hogwarts was not real, merely a product of fiction, did not occur to you. And why would it, since quirks were real, why shouldn't magic be?

And so you waited for your letter, standing on the doormat of your home, looking for owls. But none came. But they had to! And so you waited. And waited. With the interruption of school, food and sleep. But not a single bird, not even a pigeon, dropped a letter with a red wax seal in front on your feet. But you never gave up hope, maybe they just got lost on their way?

You waited so long that you eventually turned twelve. Angry about this unreliability and with a feeling of betrayal, you decided to take matters into your own hands and write them a letter instead, ha! And so you did, every day, complaining about the fact that this magical institute had the audacity to not send you your magical letter! Heck, even an email would have been fine! Your parents tried to stop you at first but since you were somewhat decent at school, they let you keep your paper intense hobby. When you had sent your 6666thletter, way past your 18th birthday, you finally got an answer!

''Dear Ms. …,

We have received your thousands upon thousands of letters, demanding to be announced a witch and allowed into our school. However, we are glad to inform you that you are, through and through, a muggle. Usually we would ignore such profligate attempts at gaining something which you do not deserve but the amount of paper you have wasted for your letters poses a threat to the environment which muggle folk already treat with so much disrespect. Therefore, as a reimbursement, and a desperate attempt to get you to stop writing us, we will send you a human who thinks he is also a magical being without a trace of magic in his veins. In this case it is a human man who got hit with a confundus charm as a child and is convinced that he is a house-elf. When you finish reading this letter, you will find him standing in your kitchen, awaiting your orders.

Sincerely, the secretary of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.''

Wait, so Hogwarts is real? And you have a house-elf/human now? What? You drop the letter and rush into the kitchen to see a man, with white hair, piercing blue eyes and piercings on…anyway. You couldn't decide what was more confusing about the situation. The fact that he appeared out of nowhere, the fact that large parts of his body were burned or the fact that he was naked. You decided to accept this new version of reality by staring at him incredulously for a good five minutes, in which he did not blink once, staring back at you.

Since he didn't say anything and you started to feel a little drowsy from this… revelation, you decided to end the day early and go to sleep in your one-room apartment. Sadly, your apartment was too small to hide in another room, hoping that he would be gone, only a really weird dream, when you woke up and entered the living room the next morning. Sadly, your living room was also your bedroom and your kitchen and so you could only turn around and stare at the wall incredulously until you fell asleep. The next morning you woke up feeling surprisingly refreshed, since your apartment was always too cold to catch a good night's sleep. But somehow you felt really warm, as if you had shared the bed with another, very warm body.

…

Was that breathing you heard near your ear, right behind you? You turned around in a millisecond and went right back to incredulously staring at your house-elf-human. Holy shit, he was still there. And naked. And now he spoke, making it even harder to ignore his existence. ''Is master mad at Dabi? Should Dabi burn himself as punishment?'' He raised a hand and a very hot and very scary looking blue flame emerged from it. Great, so you had a crazy human who was convinced to be a house-elf with a fire quirk in your very small and very expensive apartment. Just great. You decided to pretend this was real. Maybe if you went along with it, he would be revealed to be a figment of your imagination and someone would send you to a mental hospital where live might be a bit more normal than this. ''N…n…no, please don't! I'm just confused, it's fine, you did nothing wrong.''

And so you had a human house-elf. You tried really hard to convince him that he wasn't an elf, but his believe in his magicalness was as unyielding as 11 year old you's. You decided to just treat him like a really confused roommate. Very, very confused. He kept standing or laying as close to you as possible, staring at you so hard you worried he would set you ablaze with his eyes. Those eyes…

They were always on you. If it wasn't such a weird situation, he might have been your type, though more ''normal'' in his speech patterns preferably. The scars didn't look ugly, just saddening when you wondered about the pain his quirk must have caught him. In order to give him and you more privacy, you gave him an old brown bedsheet as clothing since he refused anything that was new and without holes. He was actually quite helpful around the household, watching you doing daily chores and picking them up immediately the next day until all you had left to do yourself was work and grocery shopping.

He did however always manage to make you slightly uncomfortable with the way he would stare at you whenever he had nothing to do but you had to write a paper or watch a cat video. And he was absolutely horrible when he interacted with other people, other men to be exact. One time, when you forgot to tell him to hide under the blanket when the doorbell rang, the delivery man had been visible from the kitchen unit and he stared at him, an eerie smile on his face, and a blue flame in one hand. You decided to push the delivery man out of his view, grabbed the package and slammed the door shut. After that you had a serious discussion about ''politeness'' with Dabi and he just kept insisting that ''Master doesn't need anyone else, only Dabi''.

You tried to talk him out of this worldview, but every time you even remotely disagreed with him, the room suddenly got very hot and smoke poured out of his ears and you decided to drop it. Maybe you should get a post office box instead.

From that day on everything seemed mostly fine, until you came home from work, very exhausted, with a sore neck. You yawned a lot more than usual when you tapped away on your phone and stretched your arms and moved your head around in a desperate attempt to ease the pain. Suddenly, two very warm hands found their way on your shoulders and a very hard and apparently large cock pressed into you from behind.

Can you explain to me how Rachel was annoying in the series?

Well, I’ll try to keep myself short for this one (lol no, this took an hour to write). Also, let’s not forget that they’re all kids, but I’m basing this off from when I read the series as a fourteen year old because my opinions haven’t changed much (for better or for worse).

I’m not the biggest fan of Rachel. I have to admit that portrayals of her by Simi, Kit, Logan, Apollo and all the others helped to shape her into something cooler than what she had been in my foggy memories but I actually went back to take a look in the books (well, TTC + BOTL so far) to refreshen my mind about events that have happened.

Also, you should browse through @blackjacktheboss's blog as she’s a) hilarious and b) says whatever I say in like a single sentence lol. But your ask is about me and my opinions so here we go:

What I didn’t like about Rachel was that she’s rude and bold (DON’T GET ME WRONG, I love that in female characters!!!), but she doesn’t have Annabeth’s excuse of survival of the fittest (literally running off as a traumatized seven year old) and introducing us into the world of the Riordanverse.

Percy was on his way, had shit to deal with and Rachel pretty much interrupted him from the get-go and thought getting her answers was more important than letting Percy just rush forward. Yes, this is Rachel’s entrance into the series and the net Riordan threw into the sea, to make us little fish adapt to her. But it still didn’t sit right with me, probably because I would never interact that way.

I get why she did that, but it’s the way how she did it that’s just making me go ???

Even if I was seeing weird things, I wouldn’t set out to distract/interrupt someone who is incredibly busy to get my way. Rachel’s dick move seems like a Karen boomer type of thing to pull off, but guess that’s up to you.

If I were her, I’d either film/try to photograph the monsters via phone (if that’s possible) or internet stalk enough to find the other person (note: despite Riordan’s stupid rule of not being able to use phones, demigods still can use computers/the internet, I guess). Percy was national news like a year or two ago in the timeline, so it shouldn’t be that difficult to find more stuff out about him, even in like 2008 or so. Let him have a spot on Perez Hilton's shitty gossip blog, for the OGs reading this.

Annabeth was used as a tool of exposition to introduce us to CHB, the demigod life and how things roll around there. She barged into Percy’s mission as a nuisance first but a necessity second in TLT.

However, in comparison to Rachel, Annabeth was transformed into a fully-fledged protagonist within a span of a chapter or two. Rachel needed another separate book after her first appearance, so we don’t just know Annabeth better, we know that she’s an important constant throughout the story as of Rachel seems… almost random? Is she truly necessary as a character?

This doesn’t come from a shipper perspective, this is coming from a character design perspective and adds to the feeling that the way she has been introduced to me as a reader just seems off.

Yes, BOTL makes sense with her as a reborn Ariadne, but technically Sally could’ve done the job as she’s a clear-sighted mortal as well lol. Then again, Sally is an adult, went to college, had a job, was unfortunately probably working it up with Paul, did the cha cha slide with him and had overall better shit to do.

Then Rachel as the oracle, which is just super weird in general. Wasn’t Apollo himself responsible for issuing prophecies in the OG myths? Or did he both, have the oracle of Delphi as his spokesperson and issue important stuff to Team Olympus? Am I mixing things up? I’m getting sidetracked, my bad.

Either way, this oracle gig might be the only time I’d say Rachel might be important in the future (badum tzz), but Riordan fumbled the bag in the follow ups series so there’s that. Did she even appear in HOO? Can’t remember and also don’t care.

Rachel is used as one out of three choices in regard to his love life that Percy can make. Calypso literally got introduced into BOTL and was admittedly Percy’s biggest what if… But the general gist doesn’t sit right with me. We have three possible routes with Percy and the others:

Rachel: somewhat normality in the mortal realm

Annabeth: the danger and thrill of the demigod life

Calypso: ambrosia and nectar. a hint of immortality

(On one hand, literally why but on the other hand, mad props for Percy who has literally three romantic leads in the same book.) I’d cancel one of them at least out and since Annabeth isn’t going anywhere, I’m taking Rachel. Sally could literally been Percy’s anchor to a normal mortal life as she had intended until it didn’t work out anymore when he became twelve and his monster alerting scent grew stronger.

Calypso and Annabeth would’ve been the perfect opposites where each of them had a strong case. The demigod life within the realms or mortal or the demigod life ascending to Olympus/immortality. Sounds cooler and is way simpler. Three people is way too much, this truly feels like a shonen anime harem thing and it’s defo not my cup of tea (and while some Annabeth sideships aren’t my thing (Lukabeth go cry in the corner, no one likes you, WTF, Connabeth you fugly), it’s super unfair that Annabeth solely has Percy (fuck off Luke) to rely on in regards of romantic endeavors).

Rachel almost feels redundant? The option to walk away from all of that… which isn’t really true as Rachel really tries to push and insert herself into the story the very first time we meet her? But that’s just me, I’m certain that others are saying they’d kill off Annabeth or kick Calypso (I mean yeah) into the curb.

I semi-joked on Dez’ post (@sawasawako) with this response about Annabeth needing to keep up with powerful Rachel, but the core still stands.

We already have an affluent Annabeth (granted, we don’t know exactly how the Chase’s riches are divided, whereas it’s clear that Rachel can just make anyone drop dead by saying who she is. Annabeth needed that weird lotus casino credit card to make that happen, so Miss Harvard Legacy doesn’t wield that Dare schmoney. Also don’t think Annabeth can just up papa’s money and go…? Idk).

Why do we need another person needing to upstage this?

Like Rachel has to triumph in regards to standard and prestige as if it were a badly written Jane Austen AU. For what reason…? Why not make Percy friends and acquaintances with someone who comes from a normal household for once, not super rich brats (Piper, Annabeth, Rachel, technically the Graces with their TV starlet mother amongst others).

Moreover…

Important question: why should Percy actually be impressed/attracted to that? He’s dirt poor and has been sent to (boarding) schools filled with stupid rich people since he’s been twelve, probably even younger than that. As if that’s the very first thing Percy would look out for or be wowed or something. He’s used to rich douchebags. I think he’s more surprised that someone used their money for his benefit for once and not to crash daddy’s new Mercedes again.

Like seriously… Rachel did that weird art project thing in BOTL with her covered in gold and posing like it’s a super normal thing to do? Even for rich snobbish kids standards? That sounds weird to me. I don’t know, maybe Riordan’s been streaming the new Gossip Girl reboot on HBO Max on repeat and thought this girl is on fiyah (performed by Alicia Keys).

Rachel trying to separate herself from her money just comes off as super hypocritical when she’s using the very same funds to finance her lifestyle. I get it, trying to make amends and make a difference with the damage you have done but... your father still doesn't give a shit about the environment or YOU, sweetie. Kick him in the balls for once! Then you can go out about your art projects.

The concept of Percy having friends in the mortal realm is cool, but why does Rachel almost have to compete with Annabeth with her wealth and art stuff?

No seriously, the comparisons are constantly there, out and about. Roaming freely on the finest grass, needing to be feed delicious locally sourced carrots and stuff.

Annabeth is Athena’s kid. Athena is the goddess of wisdom, weaving, justice, warfare yada yada and arts and crafts. So definitely something which would affect Rachel, right (someone write that Athena messing with Rachel because she can AU and tag me please!)?

Annabeth wants to become an architect which translates to fancy building designer who is driving engineers like Leonardo Eugenio Valdez Cortes insane irl because the maths and physics don't work like that in the working field trust me I'm an engineer, which could/should be considered an art form.

They even shared some common ground while talking about architecture and design in BOTL!

Furthermore, they both share broken homes with absent parents (granted that all demigods go through that). Wealthy families at that as well. Shitty fathers that don’t care about their daughters well-being. Rachel however, is super powerful and influential in an unseen level in the mortal world. She isn’t like Matt Sloan (?) who truly messes up by destroying shit to get his father's attention, but she’s still in that circle and can easily demonstrate that. Making deals with her father and what not. We rarely see Annabeth doing that. Did y’all forget the fucking helicopter Rachel brought along in TLO?

Pan saying Rachel is just as important as her father has multiple meanings to me…

(Sidenote: I do think it’s hilarious that Annabeth is jealous/annoyed of Rachel that her remarks were she’s cute right and Percy went??? Or when Tyson said Rachel’s pretty? Or that time when Annabeth actually defended Luke and his weird behavior (because Kronos was slowly taking over, don’t forget that kids!), because f that rich artist nepotism kid that Rachel seems to be, right?)

Another note: Percy thinks Rachel is annoying in BOTL for a while and it took a while for him to admit that and he spent way more time being annoyed/jealous (for once, Lordy) at Luke for him to even notice lol.

I guess it’s really hard for me to exactly pinpoint what’s bothering me. I believe Rachel's persona just doesn’t seem to hit right, because it feels like a knock-off Annabeth who just simply isn’t a demigod, yet has two cool powers, but in even richer who still needs to be part of the story for exactly what reason?

The jumping around from the richest in the series to the poorest in the series is kinda bothering me as if the middle class doesn’t exist, like I’ve stated earlier. Why didn’t Riordan mix it up with Rachel, giving her more nuance the minute they met, not towards the end? Have her be Percy’s platonic friend from the get go. No weird oh wait she is kinda cute in the middle bullshit.

This kinda drifted more into a Perachel vs Percabeth essay, which really wasn’t my intention. Don’t worry kids, I’m criticizing Annabeth (and her stans) enough already.

And I do think that others in the fandom have softened my views on Rachel as a person like I’ve stated in the beginning. So friendship!Perachel is popping! But I do think that there are some valid points that I’ve made.

Also not gonna lie, Rachel issuing the new prophecy in TLO kinda dampened the end of PJO series but that’s more Riordan’s fault than hers.

TLDR: I’m just not a huge fan of this overbearing, uber-rich, excessively flaunting being that Rachel sometimes displays. She’s flawed, she’s broken at times, has a semi-interesting background story (although it has been done over and over again throughout the series and should be changed up for once) which is great, but it is still annoying.

We don’t need an anti-Annabeth who feels like a weird caricature of the real Annabeth.

Also if this seems super incoherent, repetitive, or whatever, I'm sorry, massive headaches + mental health going down the goo lagoon does this to ya, I hope I made somewhat sense!

Sure, anon! Hope you like it :’) I apologize for the inconsistent length, but I get more ideas for some characters than others at a time.

USHIJIMA

- He’s a dog person (confirmed by my group chat, very reliable source) so he’s used to more energetic pets. He does admit that your cats are very calming, and he finds himself smiling at the sounds of their purrs. All of your cats are drawn to him like a magnet, he doesn’t understand why and he sits with a stoic face, hands on his knees while dozens of cats are rubbing up against his legs, chest and one even found its way upon his head. He would remain as still as possible, hoping they find it comfortable up there.

- He’s not very talkative when playing with your cats, but you see the soft smile which graces his features at the funny antics of your furry friends. It’s all very calming, your favourite moments is during a rainy evening when Ushijima cuddles with you upon your couch and all your kitties join in on the love. (catch me crying in the club rn, your head is resting on his chest, legs intertwined, blanket over the both of you and your cats are scattered everywhere. One is nestled upon your feet, a few on the armrests and on top of the back while a very tiny kitten is curled up on Ushijima’s sternum, underneath his warm hand)

- He would spoil them a lot, bringing over treats and exotic-sounding food. The once he came over with cotton candy flavoured meat treats and you soon realized his obsession with strangely flavoured items. Each week he comes back with something weird and you fear that your cats won't like it but you give it to them anyway, to your surprise, they almost never turn their nose to it, and if they do, Ushijima is able to get them to eat it just by holding it out for them.

BOKUTO

- He’s surprised upon first visiting your home, only to be greeted by seemingly dozens of cats staring back at him. He lets out a sudden noise of excitement, causing all your furry friends to scatter in multiple directions. Yeah, they’re kinda scared of him and yes, Bokuto looks extremely dejected about it. The whole visit he attempts to warm up to your cats who keep a wary eye on him and pouts when none of them warms up to him. Feeling bad for him, you brought him your newest addition to your cat family which had been a tiny little kitten which you distanced from the rest. It had no power to fight back and instantly curled up into Bokuto’s chest. You swore his eyes grew misty and his smile was absolutely contagious.

- Eventually, your cats warm up to him after his constant visits and he never fails to bring them gifts. These include treats, toys and even costumes. He buys these all unironically, he’s genuinely so excited to see what they will look like in the cute sparkly dress he bought because his heart swelled upon first seeing it. Unwilling to disappoint, you dress up one of your more tamer cats in the outfit and Bokuto is almost brought to the verge of tears at how cute they look. He’s very enthusiastic when it comes to your babies :’)

- Frequently questions when you’re considering getting your next cat. You make the mistake of asking him if he would like to tag along with you and pick out a cat to foster, you return home with four additional kittens all snugly asleep in Bokuto’s arms. (...can ya’ll imagine seeing him carrying a bunch of sleeping kittens in his muscular AF arms... I-)

- Your love for cats is so endearing to Bokuto, he catches himself staring at you whilst you play with them, admiration gleaming within his eyes. Seeing you so gentle towards them makes his heart swell with pride at the thought that he managed to meet and date someone as loving and caring as you. He doesn’t even play his staring off as something else when you catch him and instead he openly admits what a lovely person you are. (your cat is sitting there like...human...proceed giving me attention with the delightful chase of the feather string...why do you love this owl-head anyway)

KAGEYAMA

- The only experience Kageyama has had when it comes to pets is his own fish which he sometimes forgets exists. This is proved canon by my group chat members and I. He’s pretty overwhelmed by the sheer amount of cats you have and finds himself awkwardly stroking one who comes up and rubs themselves against his legs. He looks a bit uncomfortable, not sure what to do. You help him ease up by putting your hand on top of his and guiding it over the soft fur of your cat.

- Kageyama finds your will to help cats admirable, not that he would do something like that himself, but he can tell a lot of hard work goes into it and he thinks you’re amazing for being able to cope. Many times he finds himself willing to help you clean up or even help bathe one of your cats. His hands are full of scratches afterwards and you feel sick to your stomach with guilt, only for him to offer you a small smile of reassurance and tell you he didn't mind - it was fun, in fact, seeing as he never had the opportunity to take care of his own pet in such a way before.

- He’s only close with one of your cats. For some reason, this cat eases him and whenever he comes over, he’s instantly greeted by the cat upon stepping through the door. The one time, you caught Kageyama falling asleep upon your bed with the cat curled up against his chest, both of them with seemingly content smiles. You managed to snag a picture and it will forever remain your profile picture because what on earth can top a sleeping Kageyama with his favourite cat snuggling on top of him. (me thinking about Kageyama cuddling with a cat.)

NISHINOYA

- Your poor cats.

- In the beginning, Nishinoya is in awe at how many cats you have. He doesn’t make an attempt to rush towards them but he definitely thinks their cute. He’s more interested in how he can entertain himself by playing with them. You show him some tricks they can do and he’s immediately hooked, oohing at every minor thing they do.

- “Whoa! that was so cool,,”

- “Uh..that wasn’t a trick.”

- Lowkey terrorizes your cats ngl. He’s gonna test out the theory that cats are afraid of cucumbers like he’s seen so many times on youtube and laugh his ass off when one of your cats jump nearly ten feet into the air. He records the whole thing and likely uploads it to social media. He likes to set up pranks for them. The one time you wanted to walk into the kitchen, only to find the entrance blocked off with clingwrap and all your cats sitting expectantly before it, their heads bouncing around in sync. Peering around the doorway, you find Nishinoya sipping on a milk box as he waves a toy around, holding back the snickers at how funny your cats look trying to get through.

- Overall, he thinks its really cool of you to do such a thing. Despite pulling pranks on your cats, he’s really endeared by them. Knowing how much you want to help, he often sends you posts he finds from animal shelters who are looking for foster homes. It makes you happy knowing he keeps your interests in mind when you’re away from each other.

- He’ll come over with catnip one day, saying he wants to see how high your cats can get. “Damn, pass the joint du-” *hiss* “I just want my hit, man.”

KUROO

- He’s in his element whenever he comes over to your house, your cats literally swarm around his feet upon barely taking a step inside the door. He’s their cat daddy, and you have zero say in the situation. Your cats probably like him more than you and you can’t even be mad at them tbh. Of course, you get a bit salty when your cats, which you have handpicked and rescued from a terrible fate, turn their nose to your cooing and tempting treats and instead find comfort in curling next to Kuroo who is watching youtube videos, not even making an effort to coax them into doing so.

- You have that one cat, the true OG, your loyal disciple who refuses to leave your side. They turn their head at Kuroo like he’s a walking infestation inside your house and they refuse to look at him with their nose up in the air. You don’t pick favourites, you love all your kitties equally, but you do find yourself loving that specific cat more during those moments. Kuroo doesn’t really mind, he just ruffles your hair teasingly and sarcastically comments that it’s good at least one of your cats love you. (yes, you did attack him with a pillow afterwards.)

- He truly doesn’t mind your mild obsession with cats. He loves them and they love him, with the exception of one. He doesn’t encourage you out of the blue but if you talk about potentially wanting to rescue a new cat he’s totally there to support you. This dude buys you so much cat food! You hardly need to go out and buy any, it’s like an unlimited supply. The one time he burst your front door open, carrying two bags of cat food over his shoulders whilst posing theatrically. “Come to me, my sweet children,” he says loudly over the deafening meow’s of your cats that circle his legs.

- He would likely ironically buy your cats these stupid looking costumes and dress them up with literal tears of laughter in his eyes. He lowkey makes fun of your cats and even YOU feel personally offended. But you gotta admit, he brings home really funny outfits and you feel bad for laughing at times. Kuroo is there for all the fun things, but as soon as it comes to bathing your cats or cleaning out litter boxes, he’s outta there.

Quick first thoughts on the first ep of the Hypmic Anime. Spoilers beware (and im writing this as I watch so :p)

Otome’s speech is.... questionable from a persuasive point of view. Manga did a great job of introducing her (which you can read here) but they really cut out the more terrifying parts of her speech and how she uses force to show people that she's not to be messed with

Its cool seeing everyone in their respective environments though. thats cool. Though they could have added Sasara and Kuuko (shhh i know why they didn’t let me dream)

I love how poppy the typography is. Its amazing how the visuals just leap out at you. The OP does a great job of this. The first few seconds before the title really gives me Persona 4 OG OP vibes with the influx of information given. The rest is a clear concise and streamlined way that still gives character. Animation is sparse but still carries across a general idea of each character and shows off each character object. Rendering is really nice and pays a bit of homage to the posing artwork thats done for the MVs. They also do their division hand signals and thats cute

Love how the OP has blatant HifuDoppo and DRB matchup foreshadowing

so far I really like what theyre going for. BB is about brotherly familial bonds and they show the goods and the bads. Jiro and Saburo bickering right out the gate really cements the fact that they get along like cats and dogs but you can still see that they love each other, working together when the situation calls for it

Now the 3d models. Theyre... not great but usable if you don’t look too hard. They serve their purpose and don’t actively detract from the viewing experience.

Visual typography in the rap itself are fun and poppy but they dont.... speak to me? like theyre there yes and I appreciate them but the only ones that got me excited were from Ichiro’s rap

I love how they interpret the Hypnosis Speakers though. Esp. Saburo’s organs. That was super creative and I love it! If there was one thing that I felt was missing from the franchise was a deeper exploration of the speakers but the anime puts a new and fresh spin on it! Love it, especially with their attack patterns!

If the production team ever feels inclined to, Id love to see those info sheets on Otome’s desk released. There seems to be very interesting info and stats written out about each member (like capabilities, personal status etc.) They all seem unique too so I really really really hope they release images of those sheets

OOOOOOOOKAY MTC. I have such a big biased for them so Im very torn to see what unfolds

Rio striking out on his own is interesting. Out of everyone in MTC hes the biggest team player yet here he trusts his teammates to go ahead. This either displays Rio’s willingness to trust his teammates or it becomes very OOC if the anime wants to set him up as a lone wolf like character

I love how they specify its a drug deal. It means that Jyuto surely will show up and it also shows that Samatoki knows Jyuto’s motives and willingly gives black market info that he knows aligns with Jyuto’s goal. Thats A+ detail writing there and a great establishing characteristic for both of them

OOohhhhhhhhhhhhh man Asunama-san’s voice acting is god tier his work as Samatoki is phenomenal. He pulls of Samatoki’s threatening voice so well with those almost calm words before his voice becomes loud and confrontational. Those rolling syllables in contrast to Komada-san’s almost lyrical and airy speech and Kamio-san’s strict and enunciated words is such a delight to hear. It just speaks to how amazing and great these Seiyuu’s are in order to pull of such amazing work

Im so biased but MTC has such a better rap than BB im so sorry. Just by watching Samatoki’s part, the imagery is amazing. Even the arrival of his Hypnosis Speaker was awesome and sent a shiver down my spine. using the lyrics to form blades and blood was such a great thing to do. Theres so much more variety that just him standing there and shots of his hypnosis speaker. The old fashioned vignette shots, the four panel spread, the nods to old Kurosawa era films are great and I love these small details. Even the typography looks better.

Again, the interpretations with the speakers is fresh and new. Its great and I love the different imagery and attack patterns. Each one is so unique but carries across each different style of rap.

The 3d modles aren’t any better tho lol

(Hi this is Astro who is reading over their assessment again and making a note. Yeah I’m a bit harsh on BB’s rap. I’m not going to change it since I still stand by it and this post is supposed to be a documentation of my first impressions. I think one of the reasons why I’m so harsh on BB is because of their dynamic as a trio of brothers. They Have to have a more uniform approach than the other divisions. Which in of itself isn’t a terrible thing, it just doesn’t catch my eye as much as MTC did. Thats all! I definitely don’t hate BB, they’re maybe my 3rd favorite division out of the current lineup [not including TDD era teams like Kujaku Posse, MCD, and Naughty Busters] its just that their rap was pretty meh)

Samatoki crouching like a real gangstar and the cigarette kiss killed me

sadjkhfjkasdghsadjkcsdjhsdfsjhf im dying i love these trio of dumbasses so uch oh y fod someone save me aaaaaaaa (Astro note here! yeah i died when the jyuto and samatoki’s stomach growled im weak please. Samatoki’s face is just so precious and funny I might set it as a profile pic somewhere)

But also my initial assessment of Rio possibly being characterized as a lone wolf is very much jossed and im very thankful for that. It seems that Rio was simply trusting his teammates to carry out their part of the plan while he carried out his own. I like that, it really shows how much of a team these three are and that they genuinely trust each other. He’s also comfortable enough around them to invite them to dinners after work casually and not just for special occasions.

I really love MTC guys

Oooh! we get Ramuda on his design process which is really cute. the inside of his studio is super cute and retro and i love it. the poppy old music you would hear in a cafe or 90′s resturaunt is also really cute (astro note: yeah i know that in ARB you see the interior of Ramuda’s office but its kinda different seeing it animated)

the translation i have has gentaro speaking in early modern english (Shakespearian english for those who aren’t english nerds like me) but from what I can hear, he doesn’t speak in a particularly old fashioned way? Its more formal than old? and hes speaking without any of his character persona lying thing that he likes to do (as he refers to himself as “Shousei” throughout the segment where hes in Ramuda’s office which is kind of his default pronoun of choice). so its kinda odd for the translation to go in that direction but im not complaining

Gendice banter is gold but it feels... flat? a little? it doesn’t have the same impact as in the drama cds or in the manga? i feel? Also Ramuda using gratuitous english is??? idk how to feel about that

kjshf thats against the rules Ramuda omgggg,,,,,,,, (astro note again: while watching i was under the assumption that using your hypmic for monetary gain such a as buskering [which is what FP is doing] is against the rules. May not be the case but whatever)

FP’s rap might be my favorite in terms of tune and lyrics though. It’s a nice laid back bop and really gives of chill vibes. the integration of 3d and 2d is really nice and i love how they play off each other in the rap. The wordplay is so fun with little nods here and there and the beat is poppy too so it really energizes me.

Ramuda’s rap concerns me slightly since he makes very subtle and small nods towards his past (being created in a laboratory, warfare, and his overall very unpleasant life experiences) but spins it into something cutesy. It could be a coping mechanism, it could be me overthinking it. But it does make me worry a bit. Gentaro and Dice’s rap really play off each other with Gentaro sticking to stories and Dice taking up the baton by carrying on that same imagery but putting his own spin on it.

the self awareness of how scattered they are as a team is interesting though. It doesn’t seem like something you’d speak about in a rap? but i guess since its not really a do or die situation they can afford to be looser on things like this.

Right off the bat, i don’t like how they handled Hifumi and Doppo in relation to Hifumi’s fear of women. Slug made a post once talking about this and I echo many of his sentiments. Hypmic has never been very tactful about tackling this particular issue and while I didn’t have high hopes that the anime would be any better it hurts to see Doppo take away the one thing that allows Hifumi to function within society.

Doppo’s breakdown mirrors a lot of my own mental state when I spiral though its shown a lot quicker than what happens to me oof. that hits close to home. though Jakurai’s advice is. Questionable. Its not the best advice to give to someone but we have no idea what kind of doctor Jakurai is so ill let it slide

Jakurai’s pose looks like hes going to do a mahou shoujou transformation lmao

I don’t have many thoughts about the rap though again. How they visualize the rap is interesting. the different imagery is quite interesting for each of them and the typography is nice a distinct but im still on the fence about the visuals here

The sound is in the same boat. The sound effects either drown out the rap or are too quet but some parts are nice at least. When they talk about Tokyo’s beating heart, the heartbeat sound is a but distracting especially since its only played once. But the imagery is at least nice

I wonder if for the eds they’re going to take a similar approach to what Enstars did and have a four different endings, one for each division. I love the blend of styles here and it really accentuates that although they’re different they mesh well together.

Ramuda’s silhouette though is hilarious. Love it.

:p and thats it. Uh not bad for a first episode. Established all 12 characters really nicely and their dynamics. I had some problems with it but then again nothing is perfect. I look forward to what they show us next week

HIGH ON SKAM 2_Day 1 (Saturday)

Hi guys ! :)

I’m sorry, I wanted to post before but I was really busy and I still needed tme to process everything.

The whole weekeend was amazing and I don’t even know how to express my feelings with words. So thank you once agin to The Rainbow Team and to all the actors present !

My friend Alex (@thebipanfangirl ), whom I spend most of the time at the convention with, already posted about this so you can also check her posts to have other informations.

- So, I arrived early with Luna (@classypicklepatrolroad ) and we had the time to chat a bit with other fans and volunteers. Everyone was in a good mood and really excited !

- Before the opening, we saw the actors walk by when we were sitting in the room and everyone started to get so excited, it was really funny. The opening panel was really fun! Everyone was so excited and Michelangelo talked a lot spontaneously!! He was really confident. Fun fact : He drank a looooot of water! And even poured glasses for everyone. That was sweet !

- Then it was the DRUCK panel and I loved seeing all the actors interact with each other. You can clearly see that they all like each other and that they are quite close ! The questions were really interesting and the actors semmed to have a great time as well (you can watch the livestream on Twitter if you want to).

- After that, we went upstairs to go to the autographs. Hassan recognised me and hugged me while I was waiting in the stairs (and people looked at me weirdly aha).

- Luna and I didn't have a ticket for the autographs (I wouldn't know what to do with them tbh). But we had to give Louis, Arda and Jobel the fanbooks. We waited a bit and then we saw that Louis and Arda were free so we asked if we could give them the fanbooks right now. The volunteers said yes and we gave them the fanbooks. We started with Arda and at first he was confused. Then we explained to him that it was his fanbook and he was really happy ! I also gave Louis his fanbook and he was really happy as well. They both hugged us and Michi and Jule were just watching us and smiling the whole time, it was cute. At first we forgot to take a picture with them so we had to ask a staff member to take one for us and had to queue again but on the side. So we were directly next to Michi who was dipping biscuits in his coffee so I told him "bon appétit" and he replied "Merci" with a really sweet smile. We finally took the photos with Louis and Arda and then we gave Jobel her fanbook. At first, she was confused and thought only Alex did it so Luna and I stood anwkwardly on the side but then she understood and she all hugged us. We took pictures and then Luna and I went out because it was realy hot inside.

- We had lunch and had to hurry up to go back to the convention. Sadly, we missed the beginning of pannel for S4 and we didn't want to go there for just a few minutes so we waited for the photos.

- The photos started with Lukas. I had two photos with him. I hugged him tightly and he was so smily and sweet. I showed him the poses and he laughed a bit at the first one, which was the Titanic pose. We started with this one and then we did the second one, which was a hug with his hand on my face but he squished my face and pushed my hair on my face so the photo will probably be a bit weird aha. I hugged him again and told him I'll see him later

- Then we went to the panel for s3 and it was really nice! Before it started, Michi was already inside the room and was talking to some volunteers. Then Lukas arrived and they had fun together. Then Henrik arrived and fans screamed when Henrik hugged Michi and Lukas. And finally, Maxence arrived last. Michi seemed so confused when Henrik and Maxence talked because he didn't know what they were talking about since he hasn't seen any ot the shows (nor Druck) aha. Henrik talked so slowly and Mawence talked a lot as well. The four of them seemed to have a great time.

- Luna and I had two pictures with Louis and Arda. For the first one, we wanted to recreate memes so we showed them the pictures. They looked at us and did the pose asking us if it was like this so we laughed and said it was. It took us a few tries. For the second photo, we wanted to do like a yoga pose but it wasn't working because of the lighting so we had to change the pose. Instead, we just did a group hug.

- Then I had a photo with Tua and Hassan. So sweet! Tua is sooo cute. One of us had to squat a bit and Hassan wanted to do it because I was wearing a skirt but I said no because I didn't want him to dirty his pants. So I ended up squating in front of Tua but the photographer took a long time taking the photo so I was shaking like crazy. I hugged them again and left.

- For the Lukas / Michi photo, I was actually really nervous because it was the first time I would be able to talk to Michelangelo in person (and if you didn't know, I went to Rome because I really wanted to talk to Michi). I hugged Lukas first and then I hugged Michi really tightly and told him it was nice to be able to finally hug him and he smiled. I showed them the pose I wanted to do and Michi seemed happy to do it (everyone was doing the same pose so I suppose he was happy to do something else). It was like a martial art pose and he looked at me doing the pose so I laughed. Lukas started to get in position as well and I asked them if it was possible to hold hands as well. They said yes so I went in the middle and held their hands. But the three of us were standing on one leg and we were shaking, trying to find our balance so it was quite funny ! I hugged them again and told them I'll see them soon.

- For the Druck photo, I wanted to do a special pose without the chairs and I waited until the end so it would be possible, and asked 3 different people and they told me it was but then the photographer refused... So I stood in the middle, between Lukas and Arda. I asked them to do a superhero pose but they were confused and I think I'm the only one who ended up doing like the Wolwerine pose so the photo will probably be quite weird aha

- Then I had a photo with the OG cast (my only extra not Druck related) and they were so sweet !! Henrik is sooo tall and his hugs are really tight! Iman and Ina are really pretty and they were smiling a lot. I showed them the pose and they looked at itfor a while (idk why, it wasn't a hard one aha). Henrik asked me if he had to bend and I said it was ok but when I stood behing him I noticed I was really short compared to him so maybe it would have been a good idea aha (as I'm writing it, I received this picture and it's really cute !! I will post all my photos here later as well). I hugged them again and left.

- I was sooo nervous about my photos with Michi. I was in the first ones and I started by saying that I came here just for him and he thanked me with a big smile. I showed him the two poses and he was a bit confused then laughed at the first one. He had to do the « Ma che cazzo » pose looking at me and I actually told him this in Italian (he must have been confused because he knew I'm not Italian aha). We ended up doing it but I don't know how it turned out. I was really nervous so I can't even remember if I looked at the camera or even smiled. I couldn't see him either because he was looking at me so Idk if he did the pose or not aha. Then we had to do the second pose but he forgot what it was so I had to show him again. It was a really tight hug with my head on his chest. The photographer had some issues with the photo so I ended up taking another one so I apologised to Michi but he smiled and said it was OK. I was about to leave but I saw that the photographer was looking at the photos so I talked a bit more to Michi and said he was an amazing actor and that I watched all his projects. He was really touched and smiled when I told him I'll see him tomorrow!

- Because the photos were talking a while and that I was doing my last ones with Michi, we arrived late for the closing panel but it was quite nice! The actors seemed to really have a great time. Michi arrived later. We asked questions and then we watched the closing video (I was in it and I cringed so hard). They took a photo and then they left. Lukas, Maxence and Henrik arrived so they quickly said goodbye (the said they were really tired) and we watched the closing video with them another time.

- We took our coats and ran into Lukas oustide. He was carrying a bag full of gifts that he fot during the autographs session.

And that’s it for the first day. I probably forgot some things but that’s the most important things I suppose. I’ll post about Day 2 (I have even more things to say) later or tomorrow!
