Currently rotting, so I present:
The Quiet Council playing Minecraft
Charles: Tries to establish a community with order and rules, fails horribly. Forgets that it's just a game and gets way too involved in Minecraft Server Politics. Eventually just closes the server.
Erik: Hangs out with Ororo. Illyana or Beto probably showed him the game so he knows what he's doing, but he's here to relax. Way too sick of Charles to help him.
Apocalypse: Uses his Celestial tech to play because his hands are too large for normal human tech. Still can't run shaders.
Irene: Sits by Raven and tells her what she needs to do. Just happy to lay her head on her wife's shoulder, and to ruin Charles's day.
Raven: Gets competitive, immediately wants the best gear. Keeps stealing Charles's stuff when Irene tells her he won't notice. Describes the beautiful things she sees in detail to Irene and builds a flower garden for them both.
Nathaniel: Spends the entire time making his skin. When he does get into the game, he griefs Charles's house and then harrasses Apocalypse with TNT. Eventually gets bored, sets his game to creative, and blows up everything.
Emma: Collects all the types of cats and spends time building a beautiful base with Kate. As in, Kate gets the resources and builds the base, while Emma gives directions and adds details
Kate: Pretty good at the game. Harrasses Shaw and griefs his village. Loves resource gathering and mining.
Sebastian: Spends his time levelling up villagers and turning them to zombies + curing them so he gets the best deals.
Selene: Doesn't understand the villagers are NPCs, so she sets up a cult in a village to worship her. Secretly, she gets a little attached to them. She also builds plenty of Iron Golems.
Hope: Probably a Minecraft pro. Basically speedruns the best gear and farms while dragging Bennet along with her. At first, she tells Bennet to get her resources, but after he keeps getting lost/dying she just does it herself.
Bennet: Has no idea what's going on, but follows Hope around and does what she says. Easily gets lost without her. He likes the armor and weapons, he feels like a knight again.
Piotr: Collects a bunch of animals, and has an army of dogs. I imagine he names them after flowers and dyes their collars to match. Of course sets up large farms.
Kurt: Doesn't really know how to play the game. Tries to help Charles at first, but eventually goes out on his own or helps Piotr on his farms.
Ororo: Hangs out with Erik. Charles kept asking her to help him build a community but she was more interested in building and mining with Erik.
Jean: Knows how to play through Rachel and Teen Cable. Probably tries to sneak Scott onto the server but he says no. Also tries to help Charles but gets sick of him.
Doug: Secretly competing with Hope. Failing miserably, but he's still having a great time.
Krakoa: Asking Doug questions about the game. Eventually tries to recreate Minecraft biomes on the island. It becomes a major emergency because suddenly skeletons and zombies are appearing at night and attacking mutants.

Exodus in Immortal X-Men #13
Tumblr media
Gillen has always done absolutely fantastic with Exodus - and if I'm to be honest, I only discovered Exodus through his works - but you can tell Exodus is a favourite of his with how brilliantly he's been portrayed; and this issue is phenomenal.
This is basicly me just dumping all my thoughts because I loved every moment and I want to dissect it all! Obviously major spoilers below!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only thing I'd love more than what they're currently doing, is if they'd listen to him here. Let him at Sinister, that'll be a cat fight for the ages!
And I find it funny that Kate completely glosses over his threat and talks of action and just seems... "you want Sinister out?" Whether this is her mistrusting him because of the Sinister strain, or this is one in a very long line of comments where the council keep glossing over Bennet and just assuming he's stupid.
Tumblr media
Speaking of council members being dismissive to Exodus. Whether Destiny can ~obviously~ just see ahead and/or she knows Bennet is capable of reading subtext and also has the same motives as her. It's interesting that by the end, Destiny and Exodus have generally shared the same view points.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Quite possibly the absolute best panels for Exodus ever. Selene isn't just any old foe, she's extremely powerful and been around 10x longer than Exodus has. But Exodus doesn't flinch. The writers are really developing Exodus Omega abilities, he's a master of telekensis and the comment about taking her apart molecule-by-molecule is extremely interesting.
Exodus has been hugely underused as a powerhouse previously, but he's an incredibly formidable person that is well aware of his capabilites - and nor does he have the morals to hold him back from showing them. And while it's not evidently in play here, he's stronger the more there is belief in his powers - and that includes his own belief in himself.
And it once again proves Exodus is a man of action, want something done? He's going to do it, even if its not ethical or pretty.
Tumblr media
Storm stops him, and its Omega v Omega, Exodus little telekentic bubble shield is so cute.
And I might be blinded by my own fanaticism of Exodus, but Storm blindly stopping every form of conflict is detrimental to Krakoa. Exodus is right, he's protecting Krakoa from a major threat.
Once again another council member that just sees him as a power loon, but Krakoa is exactly what Exodus fought his whole life for, if anyone is going to protect it, its going to be him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is it. The absolute pinnacle of this issue and Exodus arc as a council member.
Magneto originally said he placed those on the Winter table as a way to saite and keep an eye on the most powerful individuals that are most likely to cause problems. I assume him and Xavier thought they didn't notice.
Exodus did.
With Exodus' compliancy, they forgot what he was truely capable of and assumed they had him under their thumb. They forgot that Exodus accepted because he wanted to, he was compliant because he decided to be. Krakoa is ruined, there's no reason for him to be compliant anymore.
I'd like to think this is a thinly veiled threat. Exodus went along with them even though he despised them and their beliefs, but he has no reason to do so anymore. Now what path will he take? What will he decide to do now he's on his own?
Tumblr media
And there's the mental breakdown. Exodus is an interesting character because a mutant utopia is ALL he wants. He doesn't have alot outside of fighting for his goals, and then maintaining Krakoa. The others will disperse back to whatever they originally did or otherwise did - but Exodus? This is his ENTIRE reality, there is nothing else for him. His entire reality and reason to fight has completely shattered before him - he's left floundering.
Something that's particularly bad for everyone else. Exodus is notorious for taking the reigns if no one else will fight for what he thinks is right. Regardless of his methods.
Will he accept that the council has decided to disband and allow a democracy rather than a ruling cabinet? I can see him perhaps appreciating letting mutant kind as a whole being able to decide their own future, but where does that leave him?
I'm incredibly excited to see where it goes for him. And they better not just never mention him again Exodus could lead a very interesting path now, where does he fit in with society now the only purpose he's ever felt he had has been removed?
Absolutely stunning issue, the level of detail on Exodus' character is astounding. And the art work is as beautiful as ever!

I love this panel right here, because it solidifies the mindset that was created in INFERNO, where the Quiet Council doesn't respect or look to Xavier for leadership anymore (which has been a recurring theme in other issues of the DESTINY OF X era), and instead Emma and Storm seem to be the two that call the shots.
While I don't like the idea of only one or two individuals calling the shots for an entire nation, especially because it's supposed to be a council, I do feel that Emma and Storm are a major step up from Chuck and Mags.
Hopefully we eventually get to Scott's dream of an elected Quiet Council rather than these self-appointed (mostly) hypocites.

Immortal X-Men #2 [Spoilers]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They went and killed Selene! I am not happy! So much wasted potential. I swear Marvel doesn't understand how to utilize such an excellent character. They better not mess up with Madelyne Pryor next!

Spoilers for X-Men Red #5 and Immortal X-Men #5
Red #5
- this issue is so packed with deliciousness
- we finally get to see all the Great Ring in action (even though they got stomped)
- I still find it extremely unclever for Uranos to just be 'immune' to reality warping? Like tf how did he just ignore Ora Serrata's erasing stare?? She erases gods for breakfast for god sake. And how did he even manage to defeat Legion who can manipulate reality and manifest other powers at will??? Legion of X #6 better be giving answers.
- RIP Idyll, you deserved better (mutilated by Tarn, beheaded by Isca, just generally unappreciated lol)
- Also wtf Isca you bitch. But I saw that one coming a mile away. I wonder if on top of making her go to the winning side, her power also indirectly influenced her to not be near Uranos? Like she got teleported away by Nightcrawler because she switched sides and killed Idyll, so I think it also saved her from being killed by Uranos (not that she can die from that I don't think)
- Sobunar and Lactuca defending Arakko is so epic. Idk how Isca can survive against a literal ocean of monsters but oh well. I wonder if they're both alive. I hope so, but there's still a chance Uranos teleported away and finished them off in the 40 min that he has leftleft (also the fact that he bodied 4 Great Ring Members + Cable + Brand 💀)
- So it's confirmed by the end of the chapter that Table Dusk is intact although severely wounded (idk how Ora is gonna function after being gouged and idk how long Xilo will take to replenish his insects but they're both not looking good. Lodus Logos on the other hand seems way better than the rest). Table Day is still in question though I'm presuming that they're all alive since Sobunar and Lactuca aren't shown dead and Storm is on Earth. The only casualty is really Table Dawn. They lost Isca and Idyll.
- Magneto is so badass. I knew he didn't die when Judgement Day #1 came out. Twitter people all calling Gillen anti Semitic and stuff are just overreactive attention seekers who reads too much between the lines. Magneto is literally to angry to die. Even without a heart he's using his magnetism to control the blood in his body to keep flowing. That is so fucking hot. He's the real Omega Silver Daddy 🥵.
- "Such strategies are not the business of Table Dusk. This is war. A war we are losing. And so the Seat of Loss takes command" God damn I'm scared and turned on.
- a bunch of other things that caught my attention: Khora finally joined the Brotherhood?; Fisher King is definitely one of the 3 Night Seats; I find it hilarious that Brand tried to avoid Resurrection but died anyway lol that's what you get you double faced bitch.
Immortal #5
- Exodus is gay (or at least into men)???? I live for it. I hope this gets explored more.
- Winter Seat is indeed the Rainbow Gang. They're the seats of murderous gays. I Stan!
- Exodus was drawn really attractively in the panels of this issue. Idk what about him that just seems like a romantic soft lover boy from some angles.
- Exodus and his protectiveness and adoration towards Hope is sooo comedic. They make the best duo lol.
- I love how this issue showcases how powerful the telepaths are in the Quiet Council. Charles singlehandedly defended 12 people from the Uni Mind of the Eternals while Exodus, Emma, and Hope just sheared through their psychic defenses.
- also Exodus just bodying 2 Hex Eternals like they're nothing is just 👌👌

au where jedi healers take a vow not unlike jedi temple guards, but instead of wearing a mask and becoming anonymous, they give up their sight and wear blindfolds to allow the Force to guide their every action. it’s also supposed to blind them to their patients’ differences, which used to be symbolic but since the war between the jedi and the sith broke out, has become much less so
because jedi healers are supposed to heal regardless of if their patient is a jedi or a sith, when they’re deployed on battlefields after the fighting is over, they use the Force to heal every injured person they come upon.
anakin skywalker, who was chosen from the creche and agreed to follow the Healing path at the age of 9, thinks it’s sort of stupid that they have to wait until after the fighting is over to begin to help because he can feel people dying in the Force, he can feel their pain--
young general kenobi, who remembers his old creche-mate anakin skywalker and how blue his eyes once were, thinks it’s beyond foolhardy that this healer is stealing out across an active battlefield, blindfold over his eyes and bending down to heal karking darth maul and single-handedly diverting all of obi-wan’s attention away from the droids and sith legion because now he has to make sure he’s ok he can’t just leave him to the whims of the Force, he’s unprotected and he’s going to get himself killed----
it’s a headache and a half for everyone involved because general kenobi keeps abandoning his battle strategy and sometimes even position to ensure healer skywalker’s safety and healer skywalker keeps dropping everything and everyone the moment he feels obi-wan kenobi get hurt in the Force to rush to his side, Force Vow of Healing Equality be damned.
but......the Council keeps deploying them to the same battlefield because healer skywalker is never more effective as when he knows he must heal fifty mortal wounds before he can rid general kenobi of a headache, and general kenobi is never as ruthless as when skywalker is on the field close to him, in potential harm’s way
despite how much they insist they hate each other
#kit's silly lil aus#obikin#healer anakin au#writing this out i thought of like five thousand scenes i'd want for this#a scene where obi-wan is pissed at anakin because he keeps fucking fixing one of the sith#so he's not letting anakin heal him and refusing to see one of the clone medics#so they're in his tent and he's just holding a compress to his head wound and bitching at anakin who is bitching back at him#and obi-wan is like 'at least you don't heal DROIDS' very scathing#and anakin goes quiet and is like 'i used to want to be an engineer did you know that?'#and obi-wan is like 'force when we were kids i knew everything about you. crush the size of a senator's ego'#oh and another scene where a sith (lbr maul) attacks anakin and obi-wan gets in the way#and takes the blade for him and anakin kills him rather violently#because i dont like healer anakin aus that take the violence and teeth out of anakin skywalker#so he snaps and breaks his vows to kill maul and eliminate the threat so he can heal obi-wan#and probably the council had encouraged him to become a healer because they could see his capacity for violence and fear and hate#but they couldn't see his attachment to obi-wan#but then not even obi-wan could see that#and a scene after that where obi-wan wakes up in his tent and the first thing he sees is anakin's blue eyes#because anakin broke all his vows to protect and obi-wan and killed many many people to keep them away (in a very feral way)#so what's one more#and obi-wan's first thought is that he missed those eyes#everything else and their consequences can wait#oh also mostly in it for the blindfold sex before this#absolutely here for the blindfold sex#same age aus also my beloved

The Quiet Council
Immortal X-Men variant covers #1-12

Note
I feel like you could probably do some commentary on how while the Quiet Council is an oligarchy and the X-men are democratically elected they're both massively white in comparison to the actual mutant population.
Funny enough, the fact that the X-Men are currently "democratically elected" by their fellow mutants was by Scott's design and was brought up in the beginning of the Hellfire Gala issue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Scott specifically came up with the idea because of how the Quiet Council was basically a bunch of self-serving elites who declared themselves in power for no other reason than they could.
And personally, I'm glad this was brought up, because that's been one of my major gripes with the Council since day one, how none of them were elected by the mutants of Krakoa at all.
The reason I put democratically in quotes up above is that I don't think for a second that Firestar herself was actually the most voted for by the fans. I think the vote was rigged by Marvel itself just so that they could shoehorn her onto the team to cause the drama between the X-Men and the Avengers (because we never have enough of that.) And keep in mind, she was the only mutant that was "elected" by the comic fans (it was rigged), and everyone else on that team was selected specifically by Marvel itself.
Much like last year's roster, this is pretty much one of the whitest teams of X-Men we've had since the original O5, three of whom are current X-Men again.
So many mutants with so much potential and it's the same dozen characters or so in circulation.
