I was rewatching HB with my family, AND LIKE I know people have pointed out The Root of Evil is name dropped

BUT I have not seen anyone point out we got a symbol, and eye and root imagery on a ritual pyre???? HELLO???

To me it reminded me of the pose Alastor makes in the Adam fight. And looking at it, I can see a vague familiarity especially if you count the antlers, but its not 100% the same

I buy that Alistor is on Liliths leash. How he got there, no idea, but I'd believe the real reosen he's hanging around Charlie is under orders considering how vaugh he's been about his motivation.

BUT. What I don't buy is Lilith being the big villen. I've seen a lot of people theorise that she's been missing because she's screwing around with heaven or she left because she saw Lucifer as weak or something, but I'm sorry. I just don't see it. Like.

So where IS Lilith, then? If she's not the big bad, pulling strings from behind the sceans, then where is hells queen? Well, this is where I get into speculation territory:

Sorry for the short chapter! It's just that it was made pretty much to introduce her character a bit so I couldn't do more than that

In the deepest pits of hell, in the darkest places, a wicked and vile woman lived, finding joy in the suffering of every living, or non living individual. She relaxed in her obscurity, observing all of her empire with the eyes she spent years collecting. A turmoil of emotions spiraling deep within her, as the chaos that she spent years cultivating felt ruined. Holy blood lived in hell, a thing that she couldn't stand. She called one of her beast at her.

'Pureness still finds comfort in the hollowness of this place, come find her, and when the time comes, bring her to me. I plan on ruining her, stripping her of every thing dear to her. The woman that predated me never absorbed free will, that just won't do. Now go, be sure to learn every single thing about her, do not dissatisfy me again, you know what will happen if you do'

She said, as the beast disappeared in a cloud of pure shadows.

She let out an exasperated sigh, she knew she would succeed, she would delete every single trace of holyness in her, but deep down, a feeling of dread loomed over her. She was affiliated with Lucifer, it won't be easy to bring her here, but she was the Root of all evil after all, what couldn't she do? She took a drag from her cigarette, as she meticulously reflected on her next moves, accompanied by the screams and laments of  the sinners she took for herself, it was merely music to her ears.

In reference to your questions about whether early iterations of Alastor were averse to dogs, yes he was. Waaaay back in the day when Alastor was originally meant to be a Zoophobia character, he was an actual demon deer who had been torn apart by a pack of hunting dogs. It's not known if the Alastor we have today is still anti-dog since it hasn't been mentioned in show and the cause of his death has been changed to 'death by accidental brain bullet', but much of the fandom still hangs on to Alastor disliking dogs.

Also, if the theory that Roo is the one who has Alastor on a leash is true, it'd be a little fitting for him to be afraid of the Rougarou. Considering that Rougarou is pronounced "ROO-ga-ROO"😋

This whole thing got me like ◉_◉

I quite like the idea of Alastor having a fear of dogs (and it relating to his death just makes it so much better), but then you add in ROO on top of it and ;fsdojgkdngkjlnsgjlsbljsb

He escaped the Rougarou in life, but it still found him in death.

OOH I just love that. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Delicious. Also, I need to go look Viv's old Zoophobia webcomic. It just sounds like it'd be fun to read.

I've seen people speculate about this character, Roo, that has yet to debut in the show proper, so I thought I might as well share this with you. The character has been described by the creators as a "looming threat in the distance", and it's a common assumption among fans that "Roo" stands for "the root of all evil". With that in mind, I was thinking, wouldn't it make sense if she was actually Eve ? I mean, if what Charlie says about Hell in the first episode is true, the infernal realm as it is now was born when Eve ate the forbidden fruit. And yet, despite being the one who committed the original sin, the girl has been conspicuously absent from the narrative thus far. Now, if we take the sole depiction of Roo we have into account (assuming, of course, that it is indicative of what she'll eventually look like), one can see that her most distinctive features are her furiously monstrous mouth and tongue. Do you see where I'm going ? Since eating a fruit is what caused the fall of mankind, it’d (kind of) make sense for Eve’s potential demon form to emphasize those parts of her anatomy, as they were the instruments of the first sin...

Do you have any headcanons or theories about Roo? Besides her having Alastor's soul, like what she's like personality-wise? Considering what little we know about her, her design, the few pieces of artwork Viv has drawn of her, and the fact that Viv has referred to her as a "Trash Queen", the vibes I'm getting from her are Eris from the animated Sinbad movie crossed with Junko Enoshima from Danganrompa. Someone cunning and manipulative and always multiple steps ahead but also chaos incarnate who treats everything like a game.

Hmm, I have a few ideas, but I'm still hashing out her character.

I love that she's a "Trash Queen." I definitely believe Roo is cunning and manipulative as hell. She literally has a chessboard pattern in her character design.

Like you said, I think views everyone else as pawns. Hell is a gameboard, and she's been playing since it's creation. She doesn't play fair. She cheats and lies. She's underhanded and sneaky. She will do anything to get the upper hand, which she usually has, because she's holding all the cards.

Of course, I think she's a little insane, but in the sense that she's smart insane. She doesn't act out in outlandish, opening chaotic ways (at least not always). She's sly, and out of her mind, and evil just for evils sake. She doesn't need a reason to do terrible things, She's the Root of All Evil, and she's more than happy to be that. She's constantly trying to get a hand in everything, and you don't know that she's got her hands wrapped around you until you can no longer breathe.

Like you said, everything is a game to her. She literally doesn't see demons/sinners/angels/people as living, breathing beings. They are just pawns. Nothing more, and nothing less.

I think Eris is a very good comparison, just make her a little more creepy, chaotic, and insane, and its right on the dot.

I'm still developing how exactly I see her, considering we only have crumbs to go off of. I REALLY hope she shows up in the series. I think she will (I'm praying she will), and I cannot wait to see it.
