August Wrap Up ✨
I’m not gonna lie, it took me 2 weeks to read just one book because I didn’t want the characters to go away, so I hid reading fanfics (yes, it’s a theme, fanfics help me avoid shit, sue me). And because of this I read a lot of comics or graphic novels to kind of balance things out. As always, I’ll try to not spoil anything, but just in case, spoiler warning.
1. Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World - 5/5
This is what took most of my time, I didn’t want to let these boy go, and honestly, I don’t know if I regret continuing after the beautiful ending of the first book because… WHAT THE FVCK WERE THOSE LAST 200 PAGES???? And most importantly, what the FVCK WERE THOSE LAST 10 CHAPTERS??? My heart was doing flips, I was crying like no tomorrow, and I ended up happy. I loved the book, it’s an incredible saga, and it’s so easy to read and follow along. Dante and Aristotle are so lovable, you just want to be there for them, and the topics in this one are just… all I can say is read it. You won’t regret it.
2. The Girl from the Sea - 4.5/5
Did I cry over this high schooler? Yes. Did I question my life because I need more than that ending? Also yes. Did I love the drawings? Obviously. It’s just adorable and queer, and heartwarming, and heartbreaking, and all I want is for these amazing beings to be happy. AND IT HAS SEALS. SEAAAALS. Honestly, I would make this a 5 star, but I need more.I need a sequel, I can’t be left like this.
3. The Boy Who Didn’t Love - 4/5
I now people shit on Wattpad a lot, but I still enjoy the app because it’s what made me fall back in love with reading, and I’m including this Wattpad original story because fvck it, I make the rules. Can someone explain to me why this diagnosed sociopath is a better partner than “sane” people? I was hoping for him to do something to make me hate him, and nothing. I resented the girl a bit, but that is it. They had great communication, he tried to understand her as much as he could, and he sounded hot af when he manipulated people. Maybe I’m the problem.
4. The Sad Ghost Club 2 & 3 - 4/5
I finished these comics (finally) and I loved them. i felt seen. Socks is me, I am Socks, and I have felt a lot of their feelings. It’s just comforting to see the struggles of other people and that you are. Ot alone in your struggles. Its a message I kind of needed after these last few years, so I obviously love it.
5. The Witch Boy Series - 4/5
These are 3 books, The Witch Boy, The Hidden Witch and The Midwinter Witch. I’m sure there will be more, but for now, those are the ones I read. They are adorable. Just out of this world adorable. I know the target audience are middle schoolers, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy it. I will show these to my little brother, because I feel like he will like them, and it’s a way of seeing that it’s okay to feel different from others and and sometimes you are not the only different one. Challenge tradition 😤

Book 21 of 2022
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Sad Ghost Club by Lize Meddings
This is a story of one of those days. A day so bad you can barely get out of bed, when it’s a struggle to leave the house. When you do, you wish you hadn’t. Even the worst of days can surprise you. When one sad ghost, alone at a crowded party, spies another sad ghost across the room, they decide to leave together. What happens next changes everything.
Content Warning: mental illness, panic attacks/disorders
What Did I Think?
Probably an unpopular opinion on my part but, although I did enjoy this and thought it was sweet and cute, I thought it was a little simple. Being able to relate to a character just wasn’t enough for me and there wasn’t anything in here that is information we haven’t heard many, many times already. I didn’t find it that comforting of a read, however I rated it higher because I think this is something that should be shared especially with younger kids and it may help them cope with difficult emotions.

Sad Ghost Club Vol 2
This volume focussed more on socks and their thoughts when it comes to meeting others and feeling like you’re being replaced, which I found very relatable.
Even the little things like the plates on the floor; this series is very simple but very detailed at the same time.
Cant wait for the next volume since the ending to this one introduced a lot of new characters.
I gave this 4/5 stars ⭐️

May Wrap up ✨
I'm still on a fanfic reading roll, but the saga I read had me BAWLING, it took me 3 weeks to finish it, so, let's get it.
As always, beware of spoilers I might drop
1/2. This Savage Song / Our Dark Duet 4.5/5
I decided to give VE Schwab a chance bc I bought the collector's edition of This Savage Song (it was calling for me on different bookstores for months) and now she is on my reading list forever. I can't choose which book on the saga I like the best. The first one just shook me to the core, the second one made me cry like a b*tch. The interactions between August and Kate are so good, like... The only reason this saga is not a 5 star is because I needed more interactions. Also... THE SCENE (if you know, you know) I was so happy. I cried so much, so much. And it took me 2 weeks to finish the second book because I didn't want it to end. So now, I have another author to make me poor :)
3. The Sad Ghost Club 4/5
This was so adorable. So, so, so adorable. Not only is it a beautiful drawn comic, but the story makes my heart warm. I also found sad ghost that made my life a bit less sad. A new comfort book, which is always a good sign. I already saved the next two.
4. Teen Titans: Robin 3/5
I had already read the previous 3 comics bc the Titans are my childhood. I liked the third one the best, but this one had Dick Grayson, my ultimate superhero crush, and the next one is Starfire, my second ultimate superhero crush, so yes, I will keep reading these comics even if the romance sometimes feels out of place.
