"lady macbeth was manipulating macbeth because of her own ambition to be queen" "lady macbeth never really wanted to be queen she was only doing it because she loved her husband" no you don't understand she was doing it for them. at the beginning of the play the macbeths are a team, partners in greatness, one cannot exist without the other. she doesn't want power only for herself or only for him, she wants them to rule together, equally. that's why it's so devastating when she doesn't get that, when becoming king and queen only drives them apart, because she wanted them to be partners in greatness and she got the opposite.
me personally I like to imagine Claudius killed his brother in the first place because he came across a group of witches who told him that he’d be king someday and he took it from there. I also like to imagine that there’s just a coven of witches that hangs around Europe telling unstable and violent men in positions of power that they’re soon to be king just to see what happens. they’re pot stirrers
This is the most theatre kid thing in the world, and given that my academic and theatre kid sides were inextricably mushed together in undergrad, I am here to say "WE DO NOT NAME THE SCOTTISH PLAY!!!"
Fun fact: it's perfectly safe to say the name of the play Macbeth so long as you are not inside a theater. You can even say it inside a theater if you're, you know... performing Macbeth.
I've been seeing people redact Macbeth online and it's silly.
But what if you DO accidentally belt out "Macbeth" inside a theater and become cursed? It's easy enough to uncurse yourself: simply exit the theater, spin around three times, spit, curse (use a profanity), then knock on the door of the theater to be invited back inside.
If the theater has burst into flames while you're doing that you can skip the last part.
HELP. I accidentally clicked on one of the p0rn links. WHAT DO I DO???? I have changed my password. Is there anything else i need to do??
Walk outside, spin around three times, spit over your left shoulder, and say "Data is a precious thing and will last longer than the systems themselves."
Tell me why the tagline, “If you had the chance to change your fate… WOULDJER?” fits not only Brave but also yet another iconic story set in Scotland, Macbeth.
