;R1999 - Self-Aware AU
Tumblr media
Headcanons about an Alternate Universe in which everyone knows they're living inside a videogame. However, Vertin is the only one aware of the entity inhabiting her own mind, the real conductor - the "Player".
Tumblr media
this is one of my favorite AUs to slap on whatever media I'm into so here we are <3 not sure if anyone's done this already, but PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE link me if you've seen any other ppl write for this AU! this one and any actor AUs are my absolute fave
this is just a word vomit introduction for fun, to get the basic ideas out of my head, so I can start writing for characters individually!
Tumblr media
Okay, okay! First of all, some context for the AU before I go deranged overexplaining my HCs!
Aside from the "Storm", there is something else that haunts the people of this world: the fact that their lives are nothing but a simulacrum, part of a game.
The requirements to obtain this "self-awareness" is unknown. Those within the Foundation believe it's related to their respective "roles", that only the main and relevant characters are given the chance to fully open their eyes to the truth. Those within Manus Vindictae claim that one must be strong enough to break through the fog of complacency and their assigned scripts, to have their full potential unleashed and obtain true liberation. Either way, similar to the "Storm", this is a well-kept secret for a very good reason - everyone wants to have the upperhand.
There is one outlier to this whole system. Vertin is not only aware of the truth of this world, but also of her duty as the eyes and hands of the "Player". She must experience it all for their sake. Or rather, whatever she experiences will be the story that the Player will see.
This applies to her suitcase, the place where the Player's influence increases tenfold, bending everything and everyone to their will through her own body and voice. The longer one stays within her suitcase - or within her general vicinity - the easier it is for them to become self-aware.
How does one become "self-aware" and what does it entail?
The requirements and the catalyst for a character to become self-aware are still a mystery. But that's mostly because I specifically wanted to keep them as vague as possible, to allow some flexibility for NPCs and other characters outside of Vertin's suitcase.
The whole process of gaining sentience or self-awareness is mostly described as waking up from a nightmare, or a very, very realistic dream. It's like a switch, something that happens in a second without any warnings whatsoever.
I like to think that most of the people who wake up are easy to spot, because it's a jarring experience and panicking is the most normal reaction - but that they're often taken care of by the Foundation or recruited by Manus Vindictae.
The levels of awareness also depend heavily on each individual - some only know that nothing is truly real, that everything they've done up until that point was just a carefully scripted lie, the most basic realization. Others can understand the rules that govern this game and use them to their advantage, either through observation and study or just inherently.
Overall, the experience of being sentient varies as well, with some describing a disconnect from their body, while others feel exactly the opposite. Again, keeping it pretty vague so that people can fill in with their own ideas!
I'll talk about Vertin's case in detail when we get to her specific bullet point, but the same way the Player is able to experience the "story" through her eyes, she's able to see the same things they do - this includes the UI, the menus and everything you can interact with in-game.
Vertin as a character and a vessel for the Player.
The most common thing I've seen in self-aware AUs in my years of fandom is to turn the player stand-in (the main character that serves for the player to experience the story through and/or project onto, depending on the genre of the game) into an obstacle, one that keeps the characters from truly interacting with the Player, capital P.
The second most common thing I've seen is to simply ignore the existence of this player stand-in and replace it with the Player themself, either through isekai methods or thanks to the customization the game allows, etc etc.
When it comes to Vertin in this AU, I know I want her to retain her role as the center of everything, instead of being sidelined by the Player. She's THE Timekeeper, after all.
There's still some details I'm trying to iron out, like whether she's always been self-aware or if she became self-aware at some point during her childhood at the St. Pavlov Foundation. But I like to think that her relationship to the Player is a parallel to her immunity to the "Storm" - neither of these two things are inherently good nor bad. Surviving the "Storm" is helpful, sure, but it's painful for her. Having an entity like the "Player" haunting her is scary, sure, but it can be an advantage. It's a matter of how she utilizes the assets she was given, since her adaptability and determination are big aspects of her character. Vertin makes up for her mediocre arcane skills with unconventional plans and strategies.
But this isn't to say that Vertin isn't affected by the presence of the Player. Ironically, she's the one person whose freedom is limited. During battles, her skills and Tuning are available to you, they can also prove to be vital to win a fight, but in the end you're still the one calling the shots and choosing when her friends get to attack. You're the one choosing the layout of the Wilderness. You're the one picking which one of her friends deserves to become stronger.
In the last bullet point I mentioned that some characters can understand the rules of the game - Vertin is the most extreme case, as she can see the same UI as you do. She learns the way you like to fight your battles, your own strategies, she can see this and more.
Overall it's a very complex dynamic. It's not as easy as saying that she likes or dislikes you, that she considers you a friend or foe. You're part of her, you influence each other in many aspects and are stuck together for reasons she can't even fathom. While you may be able to read her thoughts most of the time, she becomes invisible once you enter the suitcase - the main menu of the game. Sure, the character you selected to greet you every day is actually talking to her, not you, but she's out of your view and therefore, out of our range. That's when Vertin wonders the sort of person that you are, if you care about her friends as much as she does. Are you playing just to be entertained? Are you invested in these events? Will you be there for her until the end of her story?
Another detail I like to think about is that Vertin is the only one who knows your name. Because at the very beginning, you were asked to input a name and she was there.
Tumblr media
[screenshot was taken from this video, since it's the first one I could find that showed this specific part of the game lol]
Well, "your name" not quite right - she knows that whatever you wrote there is the name linked to your account, at least. And that's the name she knows you as.
Those who take residence in Vertin's suitcase or spend prolonged amounts of time with her, growing closer to her and all, end up becoming self-aware. This is a direct side-effect of your presence.
I like to think that characters who reach the 100% Bond can begin to sense the Player, to see the world in a similar way as Vertin does. Maybe even feel their presence EXACTLY like Vertin does whenever there's a battle. There is someone else on the other side of this screen, the fourth wall, who watches over them.
To some, it's hard to differentiate Vertin from the Player, as they just go hand in hand - but Sonetto, for example, has the easiest time telling the two apart.
On the subject of freedom and acting out of script.
The Foundation, Manus Vindictae, Laplace... It doesn't matter if they're self-aware and acting outside of what their script dictates, because they're missing one key ingredient: you. No one else but Vertin and her group knows about your existence, after all.
They don't know that the only story that matters is the one that Vertin is part of. The one that the Player gets to see and read and experience. And because the game gives you a very limited view into the lives of these characters, you don't know what neither Arcana nor Constantine do behind the scenes. You and Vertin don't see that, therefore, it never truly mattered.
Those most likely to start "acting out" are the troublemakers within Vertin's suitcase. Characters who are too curious for their own good, who are more susceptible to supernatural entities, who are just too impulsive - they would start to test the limits and see how far they can go, how much they can interact with the Player. Can the game be broken should they end up shattering the fourth wall? Is there a way for the Player to communicate with them? What will happen to Vertin?
I like to think that Vertin probably supports this, as she's rather curious herself, prone to questioning everything. She would also like to learn more about the Player, to truly tear into the game and see the full extent of your influence and her freedom.
Sometimes, Regulus and X will change their usual voicelines, just enough to be noticeable if one pays enough attention. Characters like Sotheby or Leilani might slip up and address the Player, rather than Vertin. Lilya, Pavia, Bkornblume have new animations and different expressions, ones you've never seen before - they stare ahead, as if searching for something, and then smirk or hum to themselves, deep in thought, like they realized something you're not privy of.
Sometimes, if you leave them as your selected assistant on the main menu, you can catch them muttering to themselves - idle quotes you never heard enough, about the outside world. Diggers does this the most, it's almost embarassing how easy it is to catch him talking nonsense, followed by Sonetto. If you leave Medicine Pocket alone for too long, you might come back to a screen covered in weird scratch marks.
On the subject of these characters being curious about the outside world and all, I think that a good chunk of them are generally content with the way things are?
We have to remember that in-universe, they're arcanists displaced from their respective eras. Their best chance at surviving is siding with Vertin, and if Vertin is content with the way things are, then there's no point in trying to disrupt what they have right now. They're curious enough to prod, but only as far as Vertin allows it.
And I think that's it for the word vomit!
There are some details I didn't know where to fit in, like the possibility of the fourth wall slowly dissipating the more time the Player invests in the game, leading to some characters being able to directly hear you if you talk while playing and whatnot. Or what would happen should someone outside of Vertin's suitcase figure out the existence of the Player, let alone interact with you in some way.
Or the concept of death being meaningless, unless it was pre-established by the game itself.
In Borderlands, there's this game mechanic where you can just be revived over and over and pay a percentage of your money as a fee, even though the canon that's established is that you play through the whole story without dying a SINGLE time - because the revival mechanics aren't canon. There's the divide between story and gameplay. That's pretty much the standard. But what about the deaths in battles in R1999? The amount of times I died to 1.3's UTTU's Flash Gathering is insane. How do self-aware characters feel about this, now that they know that they're bound to die over and over and be brought back because you have to do your Pneuma Analysis or reach the final stage of Limbo?
But that's pretty much it for now, I think I got most thoughts out of my system! Thank you for reading!

Sigma Relationship Headcanons
Suggestive. GN!reader. I meant for this to be NSFW headcanons but it turns out I have a lot of thoughts about him and they're not all smutty.
Oh Sigma. He's spent his entire life believing himself to be mediocre.
He doesn't really understand why you look at him the way that you do. What could you possibly see in him?
Dazai is smarter, Nikolai is more interesting, even Fyodor has that dangerous charm about him.
But Sigma... Sigma is nothing. And he has nothing.
Except, somehow, you.
Which means he needs to do everything he can to hold on to you.
He uses his ability on you every time he touches you, finding out exactly what you want.
At first it's just the way you want him to kiss you; soft and tender, deep and passionate, more tongue, less tongue, cupping your face between his hands, wrapping his arms around you. Whatever you want he will find out and he will give it everything he has.
When things heat up he does exactly the same, using touch to read what it is you want from him.
He'll fashion himself into the perfect lover for you, analyzing, probing, stressing himself out in the process.
Because he's convinced that if he messes up, you'll see him for the fraud he is.
When you go to bed he slips away and works on ways to make you happier. He's up late into the night researching all the places he's discovered you want to visit, all the gifts you've ever dreamed of getting, poring over research on sexual satisfaction. He needs to be better. He needs to be perfect. He can't be alone with nothing again and this is the only way he knows how to make up for his shortcomings.
And it's after one of these frantic study sessions you find him collapsed in exhaustion on the living room floor.
You didn't know, how could you have? On the surface Sigma is a confident, charming, perfect boyfriend. But after he breaks down and tells you how he's been lying to you, using his information transferring ability to cheat his way through dating you, you realize he's utterly terrified of losing you.
You're the closest thing he has ever had to home.
"I need you to use your ability on me right now, and then I don't want you to use it on me again," you tell him. "Because there's one thing you absolutely need to know."
His hands tremble as he takes yours and he receives the information he didn't even realize he needed so desperately; I love you, and you'll always be enough.
From then on he relaxes a little more
He stops trying to extract information from you and discovers what you like naturally.
And he finds he actually likes having you take care of him too.
When you ask him where he would like to go out for a date, when you talk to him about his favorite food, when you discover all the little things he enjoys, it's like he's discovering them too.
He's discovering himself. For the first time ever.
His heart skips a beat when you make him feel loved.
He adores the way you kiss him. Neck kisses make him so flustered he has to cover his face.
As do thigh kisses.
He melts when you stroke the small of his back and zig-zag your fingertips down his spine. Honestly he could lie there for hours just letting you caress him, his soft smile hidden by his hair as he lies on his belly with his face buried in his arms.
And while he enjoys getting dressed up and going out, he confesses he loves staying in just as much; curling up in your arms, watching a movie, laughing at the cheesy parts. He's a little worried a date like that would be considered mediocre but you assure him it isn't.
And he adores every second of it; every little kiss you place on his temple as you play with his hair and snuggle with him on the couch, every time you laugh together, quoting lines from the movie, every moment he gets to spend with your arms around him.
All the wealth in the casino is chump change compared to this.
That evening, when you go to bed together, he's nervous, uncoordinated, and holding true to his word. It takes longer for him to get you off, but god, it's so much better. You've never felt closer to him.
And he has never felt better about pleasing you, feeling proud to have done it simply by paying attention, persisting, knowing you.
He sleeps so much better after that, feeling secure for the first time in his life.
You make him feel anything but mediocre.
If the day comes and you decide to marry him, he'll either take your name, or suggest the pair of you come up with a new family name together and he's happier than he ever thought possible when he introduces himself as so much more than "Sigma"
It's infinitely more than just a name.
It means everything. It means home.

A Second Chance, A Father's Curse - Part 3 (Ryomen Sukuna x Reader)
Tumblr media
I'm trying so hard not to burn myself out on writing because I've written and posted so much the past few weeks. which is a really short amount of time for me, also I'm going away for about a week which means I won't be able to write, so hopefully by the time I come back I'll be refreshed and ready to write more! In the meantime enjoy part 3 :)
Part 2 here
Warnings: sukuna is a volatile lil shit, possibly incorrect descriptions of disabilities? i did do a bit of research but also it's a lot of heavy headcanoning
Word count: 3.6k
Tumblr media
“Have you seen the news?” “Prince Ryomen L/n…” “Why do you think he changed his last name?” “He’s part of Iqoria now, whether he meant it or not,” “Surely there’s an explanation for it,” “There must be, but he’s here now and he’ll be a great asset if he knows what he’s doing,” “That is true, I suppose we should just trust the King, if he trusts him with Princess L/n then we should too,”
There have been no shortage of murmurings in the streets about the sudden and unexpected marriage and arrival of the newlywed Ryomen L/n. It’s only been a couple of days, the people will adjust. You’re making sure that you take the time to walk him around the castle and actually get to know him before you take up the traditional clan tattoos that will bind the pair of you to Iqoria, of which he holds a curious fascination.
“What are the origins of your clan tattoos?” He asks on the second morning. A lovely warm day, you’ve chosen a light dress and a parasol to accompany you on your walk through the gardens. You look over to him beside you, the pair of you hidden amongst the bushes as you sit together on a shaded bench, “There are a few different opinions and accounts, but I believe the most popular stems back to an ancient era of the kingdom where curses were much more abundant than they are currently."
"One of my female ancestors centuries ago used ink to disguise herself and played pretend as a fierce and strong curse, almost acting as a god, and she led great numbers of them to their destruction to protect her village. Adenfast is said to be named after that village, but the original location is unknown,” You explain.
“Have they changed much over the years?” He has taken your hand and is tracing his thumb over the lines on your wrist, “Not as far as I know, I know a few lines here and there that came from specific people from my family tree because of things they achieved, but it’s mostly stayed the same,” You point to your wrists, the two thick black bands there prominent, “These were added by my great great grandmother, as protection for the young children in the family, two lines done at age ten and then renewed after marriage,”
He smirks, but it’s softer than it has been, “Interesting…” He murmurs. “How will you be incorporating your clans tattoos into mine?” You ask quietly, because ultimately it’s his decision, and you’re already fearing his answer. He just shrugs, “Not sure,” He looks away, still holding your hand, “It all doesn’t feel real,” He murmurs. “Freedom?” You squeeze his hand gently.
He nods, his gaze traveling around the quiet gardens as you take in the moment. He’s been skittish, he flinched when your father raised his voice at dinner the night before and you’d made sure to scold your father afterwards. You can always sense the storm within him, he can’t easily suppress his energy and you’ve had to deal with one other outburst than the one on the journey here.
He’d been here only a day, his sleep was restless and this you knew because you spent that night in the same bed together in lieu of the wasted night spent in a carriage. Nothing happened between the two of you, but he jolted the both of you awake in the early hours of the morning after a nightmare. The sun hadn’t risen, his face was barely visible in the dim starlight creeping through the window, but you could feel his sadness. He wouldn’t tell you what it was, he didn’t say a word, just allowed you to pull him against you and hide his face in your chest. His outburst later that day was aimed at Geto, who’d foolishly commented on his younger brothers.
“Does your father not see your younger brothers the way he sees his precious eldest heirs?” He’d said during one of your tutelage sessions with Gojo in which Ryomen was watching from the sidelines, and you knew he was deliberately stepping over a line. You thought Geto was better than that, but after this happened you weren’t sure you could trust him in the same way you always had.
You felt Ryomen coming up behind you and stepped to put yourself between them with a glare in your eyes before Ryomen could even think about throwing a punch, “Suguru Geto, you know better than that, do I have to tell my father about this?!” You had shouted. His eyes had widened and he’d dropped to a knee, immediately apologising. He clearly hadn’t expected you to support your husband. You suppose he held a grudge against the man for his actions towards you on the journey to Iqoria and thought you would share these reservations, but you refused to stand for it. “You fucking bastard, never speak of my brothers again, do you hear me?!” Ryomen spat over your shoulder, “My brothers are better men than you will ever be, I can fucking smell the hatred that you exude,”
You also didn’t appreciate the accusation that came from Ryomen but you let it slide, you’d seen his last interaction with his brothers and knew it still rubbed him raw to even think about them. “We’re done here, Geto I will speak with you at a later time,” You turned and herded Ryomen out of the room. His eyes held that familiar tint of red at the edges of his irises and his energy had flared to such a level that you’d taken him out to the rear of the castle, where the guards trained, and he had destroyed a wooden dummy halfway across the courtyard beyond recognition within mere seconds of arrival.
He was breathing heavily when he finally looked back at you, and you refused to look away or show you were afraid. He was in pain, and you needed to let him work through it and seek help only where he wanted it. “Let’s not tell anyone about that,” You nodded vaguely in the direction of where the dummy used to be as he returned to your side, his breath ragged and sweat dripping down his face and neck.
He nodded in response, swallowing thickly, “I’m sorry,” He mutters, “You shouldn’t have to see me like this,” “Is that your technique?” You asked, gaze flitting to the pieces of the dummy. He looked away and you didn’t question him further, you just took his hand and lead him into the castle to force him into a bath.
Back in the present as you’re reminded of the fear in his eyes, you look back to him, “Are you… afraid of yourself?” You murmur. He looks like a kicked puppy when he turns to you and your eyes widen, “Sorry! Sorry, I take it back, you don’t have to answer that,” He clutches your hand just a little tighter, his knuckles going white and his lips set in a thin line, “Yes,” He states, his voice shaky, “I am afraid of myself,”
“I’m afraid of what I might do to you if I’m left unchecked,” He continues, “I’m afraid of hurting you and lashing out at the people around me because I still feel like a caged wolf even though the reality of my situation has changed,” “I hope you can one day see me as home,” You say, putting your parasol down to reach your hand up to his cheek, “I know it will be hard, and I promise I will know you down to your core one day, but there is no rush,” He nudges his nose against your palm for a moment, “I am first and foremost your new friend, and I want only to be your strongest ally,”
He nods, “Thank you,” He whispers softly. “Princess Y/n!” The shout of your name shatters the small bubble of peace around the two of you. You drop your hand from his face but keep your fingers intertwined as you stand. A young maid around your age that you grew up with, Belinda, comes racing around a dense rosebush and comes to a skidding halt when she spots you. She bows for a moment, “Your father has requested your presence for the application of the L/n clan tattoos,” She informs you and you hand your parasol to her, “Thank you for letting me know, take this to my closet and we will make our way to the throne room,”
She darts off with the parasol in hand and you link arms with Ryomen as he stands again, leading you back into the castle. Once in the throne room, you’re greeted by the pair of artists responsible for both your and your brother’s tattoos, “Ah Princess Y/n, and Prince Ryomen, an honour it is,” The couple bow as your father stands and opens his arms, “My children, it is time,” He smiles widely, “See to this duty with dignity,” You curtsey to the tattoo artists before they lead the two of you to a room dimly lit with candles.
“As you aren’t the Crown Prince and Princess, this isn’t considered an extravagantly formal affair,” The woman assures you, “You may speak freely with one another while we work, there are a few rituals we will conduct during and after the inking process, but nothing remarkable,” The tattoo artists are specially chosen for their artistic abilities and their knowledge of cursed energy, as a reverse cursed technique is needed for royal family tattoos which are expected to appear to the public within the first twenty four hours of application.
“If you please,” The other artist, the man who gave you your wristbands when you were ten, gestures to the outline of a person on a poster you didn’t even notice at first on the wall. It’s not quite life size, just smaller than you, but it shows you the complete map of tattoos that you will be getting for the L/n clan including a back view just beside it.
Bands on your upper arms and around your shoulders as well as a large spot on your shoulders, two sharp parallel streaks down your abdomen with matching lines reflected on the small of your back, two broken lines that wrap over your shoulders like overall straps and veer up and then down again just below your collarbone on your breasts. You’d always known about the facial tattoos, the lines that follow the jaw bone, the emblem in the centre of the forehead that was said to represent wisdom, and the line over the nose, but you’d always seem then as quite delicate and symbolic of the fragility of life.
The tattoos hidden beneath the clothing were thick and strong, reminiscent of the ones on your wrists that were there for protection. These were the tattoos of fierce and noble protectors. Those who would risk their lives to keep the weak safe. Your family was strong, a fact perhaps forgotten in times of peace, and this reminder gives you a boost of confidence as you begin stripping down to just your bottom half undergarments. There are no tattoos below the waist save for a pair of thick ankle bands and the symbol on your forehead copied on both hips.
“How would you like to incorporate the Itadori clan tattoos?” The man asks Ryomen behind you. You hear the shuffle of clothing and then his hand on your bare upper back. Having to get really comfortable really fast with one another, you rip the bandage off and turn to him with your arms crossed over your chest, hugging yourself, “I don’t think I will,” He grins as he looks you up and down, his gaze flicking between you and the poster on the wall a couple of times. The artists exchange glances but you just nod, “Make it so,” “Your majesties, this isn’t a wise decision diplomatically speaking,” The woman speaks softly, her head bowed.
“This marriage wasn’t for the sake of diplomacy so why the fuck should I care what my father thinks?” Ryomen snaps. You grab his hand, still keeping one arm tight over your bare chest, “Ryomen,” You say softly, “Ryomen, it’s okay, they’re allowed to be worried for their kingdom, this has never happened before, are you sure you don’t want to add anything? Even if it isn’t from your clan?” He looks into your eyes for a fleeting moment and then looks to the map again, frowning as he breathes deeply. “Can you tattoo a pair of fake closed eyelids just above the edge of where the lines will end on my cheeks?” He gestures on his face just below his real eyes.
You look confused for a moment but he clarifies, “My second eyes, Yuji always used to tell me I had an extra pair of eyes reserved for my brothers,” The artists seem to relax only slightly and the woman asks you if you’ll be getting that modification to which you reply, after confirmation from Ryomen that he is comfortable, that yes you will. The entire process is long and tedious, difficult, you spend more time squeezing Ryomen’s hand than actually talking because the pain gets to you after a while. He’s antsy the whole time, he reaches up and fidgets with your fingers and plays with your hair after his arms and shoulders are done while you’re sat up getting your back done.
“Tell me about your brothers,” You ask softly once the man starts work on his back, the woman in between the two of you tattooing atop your breasts and collarbones. “My brothers? What would you like to know?” You shrug, “Anything you want to tell me,” He looks up for a moment, “Well, Yuji and I were always the closest, since Choso is the Crown Prince he spent a lot of time in studies and learning how to be king. Eso and Kechizu are five and eight years younger than me, fifteen and twelve, both born with disabilities that prevent them from leading normal lives,”
There is an intense sadness in his eyes and you squeeze his hand gently, “Eso significantly lacks in his movement and coordination ability, the doctors would never tell us exactly what it was but we knew he couldn’t play the same way we used to as children, so we never played rough. Kechizu is hard to explain, because he was born with significant tunnel vision and a high sensitivity to light, and so hasn’t bothered opening his eyes most of his life, but also has problems with his blood. He bleeds heavily if he gets hurt, he bruises extremely easily, so then we learned we had to be gentle with both boys,” You’re sure your sadness is palpable at this point, but he seems to be perking up slightly just talking about them with someone.
“Despite the limitations in their abilities, they were always so lively and never wanted to be left behind if we went out to train, Eso spent his time describing in exaggerated detail the three of us as we trained to Kechizu, and I just remember them being so happy when my father wasn’t around-“ He cuts himself off, his lips returning to a thin line as his eyes sparkle slightly in the candlelight. You know he doesn’t want to cry in front of the artists, so you instead begin to tell him stories of your childhood, your brother and Geto, the young maids who grew up alongside you and now serve you, the kindness of the Iqorian people and the events and festivals you’ve attended all your life.
“That all sounds lovely,” He murmurs as he cups your cheek, tracing a thumb over the new tattoo just below your eyes and letting his energy flow through you to heal the raw skin left there. The gesture warms your heart, healing his addition to your clan tattoos, and you uncover your chest shyly to place your own hands over the newly healed tattoos on his collarbone, tracing the edges of the thick lines gently. “You know, now that it’s happening, I couldn’t imagine doing this with anyone else,” He says, his voice thick with emotion.
You blush softly, “You really do have a way with words sometimes, I think you could have been a poet in another life,” He steps into your space, half attempting to hide your exposed skin from the artists, “I think I’d very much like to be reborn as a songbird,” He whispers, his large hands still gently holding your cheeks as the artists begin their final rituals, leaning his forehead down and resting it against yours. “Then I could sing you songs of every kind of love every morning when you wake,” A soft glow surrounds the pair of you as you look into his eyes, the tattoos emitting the glow as the artists murmur softly.
You’re unsure of what exactly they’re doing but you know this is a moment you won’t ever forget, stood in the center of a dark room with the man you saved within mere hours of meeting him. Your new husband, perhaps the most dangerous man alive if Satoru Gojo’s Six Eyes are to be believed. But he’s here, he’s right in front of you holding you like a butterfly, bearing your last name and the marks of your clan because of the ignorance of his father.
The artists have left the room by the time you come back to one another, the glow slowly dimming with every second, but his hands never leave your body. He traces his hands over everything he can see, and everything he can’t, in an effort to familiarise himself with you and seek comfort in your warmth. It doesn’t occur to you that this is a little scandalous, you simply allow him to softly caress your skin, nothing but a hint of innocent desperation in the air. He needs this. He needs you to step into the role Yuji had tried his best to fill, his main protector and advocate, and if Ryomen needs to know you inside and out to allow himself to trust you then you’ll do whatever it takes.
“We have a people to address,” You murmur, still looking up into his half-lidded eyes. He nods gently, sitting back down on the table and breaking the trance, allowing you to search for the robes and bring them back to him. Simple white clothing, symbolising purity, adorned with green stitching, symbolising new beginnings. Both outfits are sleeveless, the straps thin and the neckline plunging deep on both your front and back to expose the main shoulder to collar tattoos to the air. Nothing can be done about the tattoos on your stomach and lower back, but the sleeveless nature allows for the arm and shoulders to be fully exposed.
“Allow me,” He murmurs, reaching for the simple dress and then helping you step into it, clasping it at your hips and just below the middle of your back to secure it. It’s oddly comfortable, it had looked itchy and uncomfortable on your sister-in-law but you suppose she just didn’t like the stares of the people. When you turn back to him he’s already pulled the loose pants on and you watch his muscles flex and relax as he slips into the shirt.
“You look good,” You murmur softly, clasping your hands at your stomach, “Are you alright?” He looks up, fixing his hair slightly. His soft smile sends a shot of warmth through your body as he reaches for you, pulling you closer and pressing a kiss to your forehead, “I can say with full confidence,” He starts, holding you to his chest and hiding you against him as the door opens again, revealing your parents, “That I’ve never been better than I am right now,” He whispers for only your ears, and you feel tears welling up in your eyes as you nuzzle against him.
“It is time,” Your father announces, “For you to address the people as husband and wife,” You steel yourself as you pull away, noticing a hint of red in Ryomen’s eyes as he looked down at you, but feeling nothing but strength from his aura as opposed to rage. You look to your father and nod, “We’re ready,” Time had seemed to stand still while the two of you were in that room, but the moment you stepped out you saw the day had ticked over and it was now the morning again. The rituals performed by the artists had prevented you from becoming weary or hungry, you felt refreshed if anything, and the two of you walk hand in hand with your parents in tow to the main castle entrance.
Geto is there at the open doorway, and past him you can see the courtyard and the steps up to the entrance are flooded with the Iqorian people. This is it, the first step into the public eye, with your husband by your side. News travels fast, you’re sure the Itadori clan will hear of his tattoos before the sun has set, but a small part of you holds no remorse. “Are you prepared for the consequences?” Ryomen murmurs into your ear, “There’s no backing down now,”
You squeeze his hand and then tug him out into the growing sunlight, walking forwards until you’re at the edge of the steps. The reactions you can see are mixed, but there is an overwhelming amount of positive energy flowing up at you. Your emotions get the best of you, tears slip down your cheeks, you tuck yourself closer to Ryomen as he lifts an arm to wave. “Live in the feeling,” He whispers, seemingly to himself, “Savour the moment,”
You decide to do just that. Peace washes over you, and you find yourself once again thinking to the future, the countless possibilities and unknowns. Whatever comes next, you’ll face it with Ryomen L/n unapologetically by your side.
Tumblr media
Might start putting a 'fanart of the day' at the end where i link a fanart of the character in question (in this case sukuna) for you all to enjoy if you haven't seen it already lol

(Warning Spoilers for Episode 1-2) My Theory on Vox and Alastor

So, something has stuck with me since viewing the second episode of Hazbin Hotel. Which is that Alastor calls Vox "Old Pal". Now Alastor could have been taunting Vox or being sarcastic. However, I do feel like there may be more to this. Earlier in episode two, it was revealed that Vox, in particular, asked Alastor to join the VVV. And it does feel like Vox has this strange obsession with Alastor.
Now for the rest of theory, I am relying on some old information that was said about Vox. From what I've read and heard, Vox was headcanoned by Vivziepop to have a voice similar to Mark Hamill. Who is rather well known as one of the Joker's greatest voice actors.
So, why does this matter? Well, the Joker tends to be character who is obsessed with his arch nemesis, who is Batman. He tends to plan entire schemes just to mess with Batman. And in some stories, that is explained to be because Joker was created by Batman. (Sometimes through a battle, in which Joker accidently lands into some chemicals that cause him to become the pale and green haired clown).
So, what am I proposing here? I'm suggesting that MAYBE, Alastor's actions either it be when he was a human on Earth or a sinner in hell, resulted in Vox. I should mention that timeline wise, Alastor is older than Vox. In the sense that Alastor as a human, was born before Vox. And arrived to Hell before Vox as well. So, it's possible that Alastor somehow did influence Vox in some way.
I mean, even comparing some aspects of Vox to the Joker, there are some similarities. Both of them have altered features compared to other characters in their world. (Now yes I know that hell is populated with many strange sinner bodies, but even how Vox seems able to change and replace his screens with newer models is strange. Especially since we know when sinners are harmed, like say a limb gets ripped off, it will regrow. So the fact that Vox is able to replace his screen... is strange). And of course, they both seemingly have a strange obsession with their rival that is usually one-sided.
I believe that Alastor's actions resulted in Vox being the strange tv sinner he is now. And perhaps Alastor's actions resulted in Vox having this strange obsession with him. Perhaps Vox, in a strange way, was grateful for Alastor causing him to become the powerful TV overlord he is now. Or maybe that invite to the VVV was some type of trap.
I will say that should this theory be true. It would be interesting story wise. As it would mean that Alastor's actions brought forward the new dawn of tech that he hates so much. As his actions (in this theory) created or pushed Vox in some way.
Anyways that's just a theory (or really just a guess given how little evidence this has). Feel free to share your thoughts!

The fungus. The fungus! THE FUNGUS! THE F- but in all honesty, your honor, my wubby little blorbo shit man is so cute and those headcanons are on point.
Now, indulge my brain rot for just a second. Just imagine the other primarchs finding out that Mortarion had not only found a partner, but that they’re completely normal-looking and super kind. They’re pleasant smelling, friendly, talkative; everything Mortarion is not. I also like to imagine his partner talking about him like he’s a stray cat they picked up off the side of the road. Like,
“Yeah, he has his moments. Sometimes he can be a little cranky but I still love him. Sure he tried to kill Gulliman, but that’s just how he shows love!”
“Oh no I can’t wash that sweater. If I do Mortarion will freak out! He sleeps on that thing every night. Now, I have to go. If I’m not in his chambers at exactly 5 pm he’ll get lonely and cry so hard he’ll throw up”
Jesus christ that last sentence nearly made me piss myself laughing. Mortarion in a nutshell. The man is incapable of expressing himself in any productive way, so to have a beloved that is like, normal? Insane. No one thought Mortarion had any pull. Hell, they thought he had negative pull.
Also. I'm sorry but I got inspired by this so I hope you don't mind a drabble. No warnings apart from it being very rough and I only revised it once. 'She' is used once, but I can change it if you want.
Tumblr media
Sanguinius walks into the massive room and makes a line right for the desk, of which Guilliman sits behind. He takes one glance upward at him, and notices the way he seems to be holding back a smile, and his wings are almost twitching. His eyes return to the parchment underneath his pen.
"I am busy. It better be quite important." Sanguinius tilts his head slightly to the side.
"You are always busy. But I can assure you that you'll want to hear this."
Eyes cast upwards at him, Guilliman looks at him with a furrowed brow. It would be quite odd for urgent news to be delivered with such a positive disposition, so he wonders what Sanguinius could possibly need to say. He waits on less so bated breath, and more so slight irritation.
"Mortarion has returned to Terra," Guilliman glances upward, and for a second Sanguinius sees the unfettered rage of a man on his wits end flash through his eyes.
"That is not urgent news." The angel has more words on his lips as he smirks and gently waves his hand. "I know, but let me finish." Guilliman puts the tip of his pen to parchment and continues writing while he waits for him to finish.
"And he has brought his lover with him."
The Primarch of the Ultramarines almost has to ask Sanguinius to repeat himself, even though he knows he hear it correctly. He pulls the tip of his pen lest it begin to drop too much ink, setting it into the well and looking up fully.
"Mortarion is courting someone?"
He would've been less surprised if it had been Ferrus.
Sanguinius' smile cracks through his withheld expression just a bit more. Guilliman wonders if he fought for the honor of surprising him with this news.
"Believe me, we were just as surprised. But she's here in the palace now. I believe Fulgrim got to her first. He seemed completely distraught afterwards, so I wanted to go take a look for myself."
Guilliman hears in his tone that there's an invitation to join him on his lips. And while Roboute knows that he has work to do, as he always does, he can't say this isn't a tempting offer. After only a moment of internal deliberation he sighs, and rises from his seat.
"Very well. I can't say I'm not curious."
The two of them walk side by side down the myriad of halls that only make up a tiny section of the palace, Sanguinius leading. He seems to have an idea as to where Mortarion and his supposed lover is. Guilliman doesn't quite know why he hesitates to fully believe this is even true. He doubts Sanguinius would ever lie but,
Mortarion?
While it takes a bit of searching, eventually the Primarch of the Death Guard is found, and his lover with him. Him and Sanguinius stay back, intent to watch the scene for a moment. And even though the two of them are silent, if anyone had been close they might've been able to hear the two of them thinking.
You seem, normal.
Guilliman thinks you wouldn't look out of place in a shopping district on Macragge. You wear the regalia of your Primarch's legion as decoration on your clothing, fabric a pallid purple, but nothing else seems out of place.
But unlike Mortarion who stands behind you sulking, you are all smiles- speaking to Vulkan with what seems like pleasant conversation. Where Mortarion seems unkempt, cast in a sour, near depressive moue, you seem nothing but clean and polite. Your smile is warm, as you compliment Vulkan about something as simple as the unique embellishments of his legion's armor, and Vulkan takes it with a signature humbleness. Though if he had to guess, Vulkan was also quite surprised that Mortarion's choice in lover has proven so, unlike him.
Guilliman watches, and when he looks to his right, he sees Sanguinius watching his expression closely. Guilliman looks back to the scene ahead of him.
"Hmm. Odd."

if you're interested: headcanons about tav with shadowheart as their confidant? i think she'd give good relationship advice—especially early on when tav is struggling to figure out astarion's whole deal
Tumblr media
Astarion x Ace!Tav Masterlist (for reference)
That’s the thing, I think Tav believes they have a solid grasp on what Astarion’s “deal” is
He’s a flirt and a rake and just wants to get into their pants, nothing serious is going to happen there
The problem is, they like his flirting
They like having his attention, and being able to joke around
And at first that’s all it is, just an excuse to banter and have some fun
The thing is Astarion isn’t exactly subtle about his “desires” and so eventually Shadowheart would approach Tav like, “so I’m not sure if you noticed, but Astarion definitely wants to sleep with you and clearly you like him so why haven’t you tapped that yet”
Tav would avoid the question basically telling Shadowheart that they all have more important things to deal with than who is sleeping with who, but Shadowheart isn’t buying it, still she lets sleeping dogs lie for now
She does say that there’s nothing wrong with a bit of fun, to which Tav says their definition of fun and his are two very different things
The further they get into the adventure, however, Tav starts to develop much deeper feelings for Astarion and that just makes them feel guilty for presumably stringing him along with the promise of sex that’s never going to come
They genuinely can’t tell whether or not Astarion actually cares about them or if he’s just pretending
Tav tells all this to Shadowheart, just looking for a second pair of eyes on this, are they deluding themselves?
Shadowheart can’t speak for certain about Astarion’s intentions or feelings; she does know he does spend a lot of time with Tav and actually relaxes around them in a way he doesn’t around the others, it’s possible he’s developing real feelings for Tav
However, she’s more focused on the true distress in her friend’s face and the guilt in their words
Finally she asks, “are you in love with him?”
Tav tries to brush it off, “contrary to appearances I’m not that stupid”
Shadowheart pushes it though saying, “I asked you a simple question, do you love him”
Tav finally breaks, “Yes, but don’t hold it against me. I’m a little screwy myself.”
Shadowheart is then like, “okay now that we have some truth on the table, are you planning to do anything about it?”
This is where Tav falters, because if they do something about it, it ruins the game, one they can’t help but lose every time
Shadowheart counters that they don’t know that for certain, and Tav tells her they’ve got a pretty good idea
That’s probably when they explain to Shadowheart that they are asexual and considering how obvious Astarion has been with his intentions to bed them, it can only end badly
Shadowheart is sympathetic, as she does see Tav’s feelings are genuine, but she also says then what Tav is doing isn’t fair to themselves or Astarion for that matter
They deserve somebody who is going to respect their boundaries and if they’re mooning over somebody that won’t, best they find out for certain and allow themselves to move on
Tav hears this, but it’s easier said than done
Of course, certain events speed run that long time coming conversation (read I Want It All for that story)
I admittedly need to learn a bit more about Shadowheart to say what her full opinion of their relationship is, but considering how she got a front row seat on how messily it started, I can only imagine she’s in camp, “they deserve each other because whatever shit they’ve got going on needs to be quarantined”

Headcanon — Bakugou with a alpha that has a quirk like Sukuna
Tumblr media
Notes: I thought of this idea right before going to sleep, I'm happy I didn't forget it. I only watched three episodes of jjk, so I had to search Sukuna's powers and true form, so it might be a little off, also I adapted some parts.
Warnings: possible grammar errors
»» Alpha's quirk is named "Possession", they have two forms. One which looks more human-ish, with markings spread across their upper body, an extra pair of eyes under their "normal" ones. The second form, also called their "True Form", is bigger, more muscular, and visibly stronger, it adds an extra pair of arms, the right half of their face is covered by some sort of mask and their right eyes get more vertical than before.
»» Alpha also possesses an ability called "Cursed Energy", which he can manipulate. They also have other technics such as "Dismantle" and "Clave", but also a more powerful one which drains a lot of energy, "Malevolent Shrine" in which a separate domain is created and almost everything there is under the Alpha's control, except for the people dragged in.
»» Now, I do believe that to call Bakugou's attention enough for him to even pay attention to you, you have to stand out somehow. So with this quirk, you stand out, principally if you're in the hero course. »» So let's say that Alpha is in the hero course, more specifically 1A. They would be at least in the top 5 students, I do believe that Bakugou is not a moronsexual, so he will prefer a more smart alpha. might not be the smartest, but smart enough.
»» Bakugou is a tsundere, and he loves to fight, so I think he would try to get Alpha to spar with him almost all the time, as a way to bond with them. But would never tell anyone, and if Alpha asks, he says that it's to prove that he is the strongest and will become number one no matter what (if he keeps winning), or that it's for him to train and become better then you and anyone in any way (if he keeps loosing).
»» If Alpha wasn't already they would become an honorary member of Bakusquad, everyone in the group would like him to participate, be because they're the only one who can calm Bakugou, or they are really fun to be around and a great friend. Either way, they would get dragged into so many shenanigans, principally by Denki and Mina.
»» After the initial phases of the courting, Bakugou would probably show off his Alpha, saying they are strong and the best alpha, and of course the best Alpha chose him because he is the best.
»» Now, when they're adults and popular pro-heroes, I believe the fans would do a lot of speculations. Considering that Bakugou is very particular about his personal life. Like he would still show off his alpha in the sense that, if anyone asks he would have no trouble saying that he is mated and that his alpha is great, but he would never dive too deep into it or talk in detail.
»» But anyway, it's hilarious to see the fan's speculations, principally the ones with more sensual connotations. Some are far from the truth and others suspiciously close. Either way, neither Bakugou nor Alpha would address them, unless it's a harmful speculation, like throwing hate or bullying.

Hey!
Could we get more about the yandere whitebeard crew?. I could imagine that if the whitebeard crew had any female members that they would be more protected of them. They just look like a crew that if a marine attacks one of they female members then they would get double attacked. Whitebeard goes into protect girl dad mode if they get attacked
I also feel like if they do have female members then there is probably one that is like a big sister to the rest of the girls. We're all the other girls can talk to her.
Btw sorry for my bad English.^^
First of all mi vida, I think your English is very good, I'm not an expert in the English language either, after all my native language is Spanish (which will come in handy when I finish my drafts for Miguel O'hara fics since I will enter to the Spiderman across the spider verse fandom, I already have about 3 ocs already created for that, sorry for the spam XD I am just so excited to see that spanish is becoming more popular here), so, as for how you write, in my opinion you do it very well, goob job darling~
Second, canonically speaking, the whitebeard pirates have female members in the gang, which are the nurses, as you can see in this image.
Tumblr media
And what you say is true, Whitebeard's enemies would definitely try to attack the female members, but not just for the fact that they are women, and of course, Whitebeard, as a man of older generation, would feel the need to care of his daughters; but the truth would be more due to the fact that it is them, the nurses and the medical team, ruling out Marco, my headcanon is that the rest of the doctors and assistants are exclusively women, why? Because he believes that women are the ones who take better care of others, for the simple fact that they are women and the care and upbringing of others is within the feminine nature
I also have the headcanon, which is very possible a canon fact, that this specific pirate group rescues or finds children, takes them into their crew, and they are raised as the future members of the Whitebeard pirates, so it's very likely that , as you say, have female members in the group who have certain roles, such as the teacher, the older sister, the younger sister, the voice of reason, the woman who is in charge of the group's economy ( just as women are the ones who should be in charge of the household economy) the mother of the group etc…
and here between you and me:
Marco had a very hard training to be a doctor in Whitebeard's pirates due to the fact that he was a man, and surely many of the nurses and doctors (at that time all felame) had to beg for him so that the captain would give him a chance.
Women are definitely more favored in the pirate crew, maybe not in positions of combat power like being a commander, because that would be too dangerous and Whitebeard has generally only let women in for medical or caregiving positions or they're still children, so usually no woman has the combat skills required to be a commander, but it is the women who have more decision-making power in all other aspects, economy, travel, children, etc…
Every time there is a fight or armed conflict, either with the marines or another pirate group, there is a group with a secret commander who is in charge of transporting the women and children away from danger and bringing them back to their nakamas when it's safe

@cryptidblues tumblr Ate this ask for some reason so copying text from the email notif
See I’ve always thought that the mechanism through which cinder stole the maiden powers (bug) from Amber made her a Grimm hybrid. And THATS why Ruby’s silver eyes worked on her at the top of beacon tower; regardless of the presence of the wvyern. Because underneath her skin she was Grimm (and still fully human). “Your newfound strength brings with it a crippling weakness”/“You said the light only reacts to Grimm but…it reacted to Cinder”/“perhaps there was something that you just weren’t seeing?” Leading from that the implicit threat of “Oz can’t defeat [Salem]”/“but maybe someone else can?” to Salem is not that Salem could be eradicated by silver eyes (go poof like other Grimm) but rather be put back in The Tower by silver eyes. By being turned to stone. Still immortal but frozen. Trapped. Her Freedom completely sundered. “You thought there was no greater punishment we could bestow upon you?”/“Your light comes from his brother”/“The god of light…his eyes”. There’s an assumption that Salem is invulnerable, no personal skin in the game, “she’ll come back”, nothing effects her, nothing sticks; but her running this risk of being petrified by silver eyes gives depth and high stakes to any interaction she has with Ruby face to face (and her possible complex relationship to a hypothetical favorite silver eyed lieutenant). ᓚᘏᗢ
the reason i Don’t believe the grimm beetle made cinder vulnerable to the glare atop beacon tower is that ruby hits her with a second full-blown glare in atlas towards the end of v7 and—even though cinder by that point has a whole grimm arm—cinder flies away from that one unscathed. either:
a) the implication salem makes in v5 that cinder can learn to resist the glare is true,
b) there is an additional, unknown but more important factor besides “grimm” involved here, or
c) both.
i think the answer is probably both, although more b than a. (maria sees the flash coming from the god of light’s eyes and concludes this power came from him; but she couldn’t see that ruby’s eyes were silver until she saw their light go off, and she missed those two silver-eyed children of ozma’s. “maybe there’s something you’re not seeing” is true of her, too)
(the silver light evokes the pure white of the void between realms, where the dead travel from life to death and the souls of the living and the dead can meet in between. ozma passes through this liminal space every time he dies and reincarnates, and his children with a mortal woman have silver eyes. after ruby witnesses pyrrha’s death and her light erupts, the hand cinder used to kill pyrrha is destroyed and ruby spends months hearing echoes of pyrrha’s final words—which she wasn’t there to see—haunting her dreams. there are butterflies, classic symbols of reincarnation and in certain cultures historically identified as psychopomps, all over the scene where maria discusses her theory. maria is also philosophically wrong in her conception of creation/life as “enemies” of destruction; destruction feedslife and exists in balance with creation, and the glare itself is definitionally destructive. silver eyes have something to do with death.)
the kids at least, per nora and “maybe someone else can [destroy salem]?” do seem to be thinking in terms of ruby’s eyes being the silver bullet that can stop salem if not destroy her outright, and ruby has the wyvern example to look to to be thinking about trapping salem in stone forever. but then the leviathan is there to raise the possibility that petrification is not necessarily forever, and salem herself seems unconcerned when ruby’s eyes start to flash in ironwood’s office. plus again the implication salem makes that the glare can be resisted: if that is something she taught cinder to do, it’s something salem must be able to do too.
i do think the glare is probably capable of hurting her somehow—i have my own specific headcanons as to how for Fic Purposes but in terms of textual speculation, what happens if you take a grimm woman who can’t die and blast her with the grimm-killing light from the threshold between life and death? it sounds painful, if nothing else.
but if the leviathan could break free after being petrified, and salem is both immortal and human and thus able to, like cinder in v7, resist the glare in some way, i think being turned to stone or encased in stone is not likely to slow her down for very long. although i can’t imagine she would enjoy the experience.
the other factor to consider is that—well, quite a lot of the fandom assumes the point of silver eyes is to “purify” the grimm out of people, for example saving cinder from her grimm arm, and on the basis of maria’s theory that is an easy extrapolation to make; which is to say, after the experience in the ever after, i wouldn’t be surprised if the idea of “purge the grimm out of salem to make her herself again?” was broached on the heroes side. the reality though is that being grimm is not what’s wrong with salem and becoming grimm is something she chose, or at least accepted as a possible consequence of what she attempted to do when she jumped into the pool of grimm, and using silver eyes to try to Force Her to go backwards is probably not a good idea and not something that will work. she is change incarnate—that’s what destruction means.
so there is a thematic challenge here that might be explored; seen through the lens of maria’s theory, silver eyes are anti-change (preservation) and therefore anti-theme (destruction is part of life, not the enemy of life) so her theory is incomplete and the most obvious way to fill in the gaps and arrive at the whole truth is to test the glare against salem herself, because she is change.
and because rwby is so thematically driven i’d anticipate this happening concurrently with salem turning in a new direction, which intersects in very interesting ways with what is being set up vis-a-vis needing cinder to open the vaults vs wanting cinder to be alive, safe, and free. (i think the momentum there is toward salem being forced to choose between getting the crown and protecting cinder, and she’ll sacrifice the crown for cinder’s sake; the… possibility of silver eyes being involved in that scenario is obvious.)

yandere slenderman headcanons !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✧༉‧₊˚୨ 📎 ୧・author's note; AFTER A YEAR I DO THIS- I like to do my headcanons separately, so when Jeff is done, I'll link it here. I was going through 'a mood' while writing this so heh
✧༉‧₊˚୨🖤୧・pairing; Yandere! Slenderman x G/N Reader ( you/your pronouns.)
✧༉‧₊˚୨ 📎 ୧・trigger warnings; grammar mistakes, yandere, stalking, murder, messed up topics, kidnapping, toxic relationships, talk of the supernatural, isolation and many other dark themes, dni if you are sensitive towards these such themes.
Tumblr media
⚝Just a reminder I don't tolerate nor do I encourage the following topics in reality; I like keeping it strictly to fiction.
🪐. It wasn't a normal or for that matter, a usual occurrence for Slender to fall ever so deeply for one. Especially if that someone is a mere human or even a proxy working under him. Yet, he wasn't the being to feel these such strong emotions that controlled him like if he were a puppet under command from its faithful puppeteer; that's what he initially thought.
🕸. He was so puzzled by these feelings. For hundreds of decades, he has been around for, lurking and haunting through the deep, thick and densely forested woods he inhabits, that feeling was.. foreign to him. Even in his past life, he didn't even experience such overbearing passion for another. This was indeed and life-changing news for his newfound obsession new.
🪐. But what was this feeling? The towering being didn't understand himself. Through all the knowledge and wisdom he has gathered through the innumerable years he has been alive for, it didn't quite add up to what he felt. Was it lust? did he possibly fall in love..? No, that surely couldn't be! After all, was he capable of feeling that? He is a cold-blooded demonic figure who has little to no remorse for his unfortunate victims; this couldn't be. Was he being bewitched? No, that couldn't be.
🕸. Oh but how it was true! He was at a point of pure denial. From his first meeting with you, he couldn't function like his usual self; or should I say he wasn't able to focus on anything else but you. The thought of you ran through his sick mind wildly, capturing his attention every time it did. He even started second-guessing himself at certain points. "Did they have their hair styled that way?" "That look on their face, was it one of shock?", thoughts such as that.
🪐. It was an overbearing feeling that now began to consume his entire mind, which believe me is strong, into an obsessive delusional mess clustered up. The figure felt as if he needed you. Urgently, desperately.. you were his one and only desire to simply gaze upon once more.
🕸. He began to stalk you or if he was busy, he would request for Hoodie or Masky to get the job done, Toby can't be trusted for this specific task. He watched you carefully when he was allowed the chance, peering at you through your window from your room, as the gentle moonlight crept through your room, so was his cold gaze.
🪐. When outdoors he'd watch from the shadows, observing your actions. Gaining various ideas about your schedule and of course likes, interests, etc. Things went so smoothly for him, retrieving information from your day-to-day life. At times he would permit and ask of Hoodie to take something of your possession something meager though. A pen on your desk.. a clothing item.. simple accessories.. Nothing much until things got stranger. Locks of your hair would go missing, a whole pillow vanished.. your perfume/cologne it left completely.
🕸. You felt as if you were going crazy and you started to think of yourself being extra forgetful or well, clumsy. When that definitely wasn't the case. They days went by and more things left your room, something was definitely off now. You became paranoid of your surroundings, looking around, keeping tabs on what is around you at all times. 'Were you going insane?'
🪐. This made Slenderman's job harder of course until he came up with an idea. Why doesn't he keep you away all for himself, surely it is a bit selfish! But it's better to have you safe from outsiders such as your pathetic excuse for a family, in his words. While he was preparing for you to be with him, forever. Odd and heartwrenching events transpired, loved ones you were close with began disappearing. Not one trace was left of them. You were alone. But that would be your new normal.
🕸. So one faithful night, you were struggling to sleep until you eventually gave in. The figure crept into his room. His heart beat a million miles an hour within his chest, that's if he had a heart. Remember what he was going to do? Take you away from your home. Isolate you.
🪐. That's what happened exactly, he took you away to a smaller, abandoned mansion located in his same forest. Placing your unconscious body on the cushiony bed in the room he prepared for you, he left to take care of matters. Not before securely locking the entrances to the house, he can't take chances at this point. You were finally in his grasp!
🕸. When you eventually woke up, the sight before you was one you didn't expect in all of your years. This room was out of the ordinary.. foreign.. then what else was surprising? All your 'missing' items were laid out before you in a room that was decorated with what you like? How did this even happen? Your eyes gazed upon the walls which were painted in your favorite colour.
🪐. Well, what timing was this? within a few minutes, a certain slender figure opened the door to your room. Pleased with the sight bestowed before him, his dearly beloved awake and looking at him with fearful eyes? no! you love him, you're just confused. Well yes, you will indeed live in that same 'confusion' for the rest of your days spent being his one and only darling.

Okay, Lesson 24. Honestly what do I even say about it other than the cliffhanger nearly took me out?
Fine, fine, spoilers below the cut, I'm gonna have to say something lol.
Okay this is a shortish one, but here I am!
I'm kind of glad they had Lucifer being the teacher in this lesson. Diavolo kind of made it sound like it's a temporary thing for right now before they officially start RAD, but like you can't tell me that guy is a student. I don't believe it!
The best part of that whole thing was Diavolo responding cheerfully to the brothers' complaints.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also is this the first time that Lucifer does this with someone's name other than Mammon?!
Tumblr media
I honestly can't remember. Lucifer you sound ridiculous lol.
Right, but anyway. I didn't write a post for the last lesson because I was out of time, sorry Mammon. But we got a pact with our boy and of course he was the first because it couldn't possibly be anybody else, right?
And now Asmo's acting up, which means we're not going in the OG order. I wonder if there's a reason for that or if it was just like... Mammon is first, Lucifer is last and we can mix everybody else up? 'Cause if Lucifer isn't last, I'll be surprised.
So uh... Solomon in this lesson, though... and then Barbatos shows up... and oh my gosh. The whole later part of this lesson was just me freaking out the whole time because I LOVE THEM so much.
Solomon being protective of MC despite being less powerful than normal? Barbatos just absolutely shutting everything down the second he gets there? Barbatos then telling Solomon how he's still upset with him? Both of them putting aside their issues for a minute to help MC find Little D No 5? MC being like nope you guys are intolerable, let's talk about this? THE CLIFFHANGER????
I was actually really surprised when Lucifer was like, go to Solomon! I was like hang on what? You want me to get Solomon? I don't understand. And then Lucifer was like y'know 'cause of his pact with Asmo! And then I was like ooooohhhh okay yeah that tracks.
Tumblr media
And our boy Sol can sense MC's presence? Now I headcanon that he reads auras, too. Of course he can. Of course he does. I love him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh nothing, just my true love serving all the sass.
Tumblr media
This man. He has also said (in an event I believe it was or maybe a Devilgram?) that he wants MC to scold him. Like sir...
Anyway, due to the fact that there was so much of Solomon and Barbatos in this lesson, I very much enjoyed it. I also love Asmo, though I am concerned about his current state. I actually liked the WW conference call the others had, though. It's so sweet that Beel was watching over Asmo while he was sleeping. Precious babies!
BUT THAT CLIFFHANGER THO.

Marina (Splatoon) - Autism Rizz Tournament Preliminaries
Tumblr media
If you vote yes you must firmly believe in this character's autism AND in the rizz their autism gets them. If you don't want the character in the tournament just vote no
Propaganda:
While not canonically autistic, she does have a lot of autistic traits--she's rarely seen without her headphones (to the point where her ears aren't modeled in game), her tentacles constantly moving could be seen as stimming, and she has a very strong interest in machinery, to name a few. Marina also has a crush on her bandmate, Pearl. While it is never directly stated in-game, supplementary material basically confirms it. The Japanese version of the Splatoon database has described her as a "maiden in love," with the specific words used being in romantic contexts. Along with that, she has drawn a manga about Pearl, drawing flowers and hearts around her, and generally acts affectionate towards her in-game. It is unknown if Pearl reciprocates canonically, but she does have a very close relationship with Marina. She reciprocates Marina's hug at the end of Octo Expansion, and she is seen to be quite worried about her in the second trailer for Side Order. Pearl x Marina is a very popular ship in the fandom for these reasons.
she wears headphones near-constantly, is obsessed with heavy machinery, and is skilled in multiple forms of art (music, shoujo manga-style visual art, and stage design). she also notably chose team Order in the Chaos vs Order splatfest, and her dialogue in the announcement suggests she's resistant to change (though it could also just be interpreted as her being gay for her co-host)
this was a partly 'for fun'-type headcanon i quietly held for a while that i think was kinda niche at the time (though it is entirely possible i just wasn't in the right corners of the fandom) but then side order released and brought with it a ton of new reinforcement. to get the question of her rizz out of the way, people were so consistently horny for her while splatoon 2's splatfests were ongoing that it actually caused drama because her team typically had the popular vote and people chalked that up to participants voting based on their favorite hosts' opinion rather than their own. whether that's true or not is hard to prove, but the fact that it was plausible illustrates my point, and her popularity was even referenced in-game at one point. there's also MAJOR subtext that she and her bandmate pearl (who reads as adhd to me) are dating. now for the fun part, listed in no particular order but will probably trend towards sillier argumentation as it goes on. (includes some mild side order spoilers) - the "final" splatfest of splatoon 2 was chaos versus order, and marina's reasoning for picking order implies a resistance to change. this is reinforced in side order, in which she has to reconcile her inner desire to live in a consistent world with the fact that she knows forcing other people to conform for the sake of that is immoral when a rogue ai hijacks her virtual-reality program. - she shows signs of having social anxiety in a lot of dialogue, and it even arguably extends into her visual design because of her consistently pouty eyebrows. - at one point a childhood friend of hers mentions a time she infodumped to nobody in particular about excavators for 2 hours straight, and then pearl says she regularly goes on for longer now. - she has skill in a ridiculous amount of art forms: music, stage design (for splatfest battles, not music performance), shoujo manga-style visual art, and even programming, game design, and 3d modeling. - the logo of the virtual-reality program she designed is an infinity symbol, which also shows up in a few other places throughout it. - always seen wearing headphones, outside of specific promo art and images from her military backstory.

Hey, fair warning, this is kind of a longer ask. So, since the SVE farmer seems to be strangely talented with magic (like how they made iron into gold without even being told that it's possible), I headcanon that they can get a little… carried away with their magic experiments. How would the SVE bachelor/ettes (maybe the adventurers and mages too, if that's not too much-) react to the farmer accidentally turning themself into an animal? Like a wolf or a cat that looks like them and has their eye and hair/fur color, for example. Maybe the Farmer ends up using their paw to write a message in the dirt explaining what happened
Eyyyy, glad to see you again ☺️ Thanks for asking, and enjoy! 🫰
_________________________________________
Magnus Rasmodius:
It takes Magnus just a few seconds to realise what has happened to his apprentice. Farmer in the form of a cat doesn't even need to try to do anything, the old wizard immediately picks them up and teleports to the tower to change Farmer back. Magnus had magic in his veins, and he could sense whether the animal before him was an ordinary animal or an enchanted one. Plus, he's also had some failed attempts when he accidentally turned into a frog, and his colleagues had to... Um, let's not mention it. Magnus would immediately return the Farmer to their former appearance, and would also strongly advise them to do such magic with him. So there'd be no more... awkward situations.
Lance:
As with Magnus, Lance sensed almost immediately that something was wrong with the animal in front of him, which the adventurer had never seen on the porch of his friend/spouse's farm. Magic flowed in his veins too, and sensing the magical aura around the poor animal was no problem for Lance. Alas, he can't restore the Farmer to their former image, but he knows he can turn to Magnus or Camilla. After the incident, Lance praises Farmer for their talent in magic, but advises them to do it in a safe revenge and notify the older mages or him beforehand.
Victor:
Victor mistook the enchanted Farmer for a stray cat, and therefore for at least a few days the young man did not suspect that it was his friend and not a lost poor pet. Then when people began to wonder where the Farmer had disappeared to, Victor, without knowing it, noticed, besides very similar features of appearance with his friend, also strange behaviour. Well, strange for a cat at least. And when the spaghetti lover came across a book in his library about all sorts of myths and fairy tales, when people could turn into animals, he became paranoid. So he decided to take this cat and go to the strange man in the tower to confirm or deny his theory.
Sophia:
Today Sophia decided to take a walk in the forest, closer to that unusual tower, and her scream immediately scared away all the animals in the forest. The girl is understandable - how would you react when you were chased by a wild wolf? When she fell down and started crying, waiting for the end, the wolf started sniffing her and... comforting her? She was so shocked that she even stopped crying. Next, the four-legged beast, which Sophia would later find out turned out to be Farmer, would try to write a message for Sophia with its paws. True, even if the girl believed in the intelligence of the wolf, she still does not believe that this is her friend and not an evil spirit. Still, she decides to listen to her compassion and think about how she can help them.
Olivia:
Olivia always thought that turning into animals, magic, and other occult things weren't just another charlatan's trick. But she's been going to Rasmodius' house for several nights, and now she knows it's all true. And her son's strange cat, which he "found near the bus stop", made her think. The cat has the same eye colour as Farmer's, the same coat colour as their hair, and yet... No, it couldn't be. Farmer was just delayed in another adventure, not lost. Still... Olivia would quietly pick up the cat and take it to Magnus that night, or else the woman would be tormented by intrusive thoughts.
Claire:
Claire couldn't understand why a raven had chased her to the bus stop on her way home from work. She couldn't possibly be a threat to the chicks, could she? Their nest is high up in a tree. So what had she done to make the bird so angry that it was so determined to keep her off the bus? Claire could have put it down to sleepiness, but when the raven said the words "Farmer", "trouble", "help", it made her worry. The raven sat on her shoulder and began to direct with the words "there" and "here" the girl in the direction of the farm so that she could help. The poor cashier still doesn't understand what kind of help the raven needs, but since she's already agreed, she'll help. And yes, Claire is going to faint later when she helped the Farmer to change back. Oops...
Bonus - Marlon:
Who would have thought that for Marlon, hunting a hare for his future stew, would end up being another hard day. It wasn't that the hare was difficult to catch, quite the opposite. The big-eared lump, you could say, came to him, but this hare did not behave like a hare should. Little animal was running around, banging it's paws on the ground and... trying to draw symbols? Marlon realised at once that it was an unusual hare (he knew too well about magic and sorcery to be surprised). But when the little beast was able to write a message for the one-eyed adventurer with its paws, Marlon sighed tiredly and took the hare in his arms. As the two of them walked to Magnus's house to cast a spell on Farmer, the old adventurer, in the manner of a strict and caring father, began to berate Farmer for being so careless in their use of magic. Because it could end in a pitiful way. After all, hares he usually become a frequent prey of predators....

For @cipherdragon as promised. I was gonna take pictures but then I realized my pictures would suck so instead I found someone's high-quality scans. Anyway as promised here's Exwhylia from Journal 3 a.k.a. "it's Flatland but like it's totally not Flatland."
Because that dark brown on light brown cursive is a nightmare, here's a transcript:
My quest to defeat Bill led me to a strange world that I mistakenly believed to be his birthplace:
The Two-Dimensional Dimension
A residential neighborhood in the 2-D world (a.k.a Exwhylia) as seen from above. (“Above” being a direction that they know nothing about and does not exist.)
This drawing approximates how my 3-D body intersected with their 2-D universe. Looking at this picture, you might think me a god in their world — but not so much.
This is what the world of Exwhylia looked like to me while I was there.
My 3-D eyes were worthless in their 2-D world! There is no sky above them and no sun to bathe them in directional light and create shadows! But here’s how the Exwhylians would interpret the objects above:
A. = An upper-class circle.
B. = A lowly triangle.
C. = A building off in the distance.
D. = A leaf 5 inches from your face.
I believed Bill came from a similar world that was mysteriously destroyed. But how? I didn’t have much time to investigate. The Exwhylians considered me to be an “Irregular” shape, which is vulgar in their society.
I was unable to explain myself, since my mouth was stuck outside their world, and I soon found myself under attack. Though small, the Exwhylians’ bodies are razor-sharp, and several hundred of them began slicing into my head. Luckily, I was saved by one of the most extraordinary creatures I’ve ever encountered...
This is basically a direct recreation of how Flatland explained the way Flatlanders see each other. It's VERY OBVIOUSLY faux Flatland.
"Bill came from a similar world" can be interpreted one of two ways: "he's literally unambiguously from THE Flatland described in the book Flatland but we don't want to SAY that, so this is as close as we're gonna get," or else "he's from another 2D universe we're gonna keep mysterious by not exploring at all, but it's neither Exwhylia nor Flatland."
I prefer to headcanon the second, since headcanoning he's from the EXACT SAME PLACE that's already described in some other novel is less interesting to me than going "he's from a place LIKE that" and imagining new possibilities. But given everything we know about Bill's home dimension between Journal 3 and the show and the AMA, either could be true.

Metatron's manipulation step by step
Part 9: Metatron's Goal
Part 1 - where I discuss the significance of the coffee.
Part 2 - where I take a look back at season 1
Part 3 - from Metatron's arrival on Earth to sending the Archangels away
Part 4 - inside the bookshop after sending the Archangels away
Part 5 - at the table in the street
Part 6 - Inside the bookshop after the ineffable breakup (mostly)
Part 7 - the very last scenes
Part 8 - speculations on what could have happened off-screen
There's only one big question left to address: what was Metatron trying to achieve with all of that? The truth is we don't know what his endgame is but I think for now it's safe to assume he wants the world to end. Still, why exactly did he lure Aziraphale to Heaven?
I see two possible answers. He either wanted to separate Aziraphale and Crowley by any means necessary, in which case he's going to keep Aziraphale in Heaven simply to keep them apart, or he actually does need Aziraphale for something.
Let's dig into each of them.
1. Metatron's goal was to separate Aziraphale and Crowley
By the time Metatron arrives on Earth, it's quite clear that if he's serious about bringing about any kind of apocalyptic event, Aziraphale and Crowley cannot be left to their own devices. They must be contained somehow for three reasons:
They've proven they're ready to fight for Earth and humanity against Heaven and Hell.
It turned out they can perform VERY powerful miracles together.
Crowley has infiltrated Heaven and accessed its files.
My headcanon is that:
#1 (true at the end of season 1) was deemed inconsequential in the long run.
After all, Aziraphale and Crowley's actions weren't the main factor in preventing the end of the world. Most of their efforts turned out unnecessary and a lot of things sorted themselves out without their help. I can see how one could question how significant their contribution was in the end.
#2 (true at the beginning of season 2) was concerning and called for attention.
Heaven already knew Aziraphale and Crowley were ready to fight with all they'd got, they just assumed it wasn't anything to be concerned about. However, the miracle proved that what Aziraphale and Crowley got was actually quite a lot.
In this version of events, I imagine this is when Metatron did his detailed research on Aziraphale and found instances of his cooperation with Crowley. Right after the alarm went off.
#3 (true at the end of season 2) was what required immediate action.
Let's not underestimate the fact that in season 1 Aziraphale and Crowley were able to do anything because they were in the middle of things. They knew a lot of details, including when exactly it was supposed to happen. Regardless of how motivated they were and how potentially powerful, it meant nothing if they were completely in the dark. If Gabriel had voted in favor of Agmageddon the Sequel, it's quite likely it would have happened as planned simply because they had no idea what was going on and might have not realized it until it was too late.
Did you notice that Metatron's actions are timed perfectly to prevent Crowley from sharing with Aziraphale everything he has learned in Heaven?
I know a lot of people are pointing out how Crowley was withholding information from Aziraphale, but I really don't believe he would keep that to himself. In season 1 he called Aziraphale about Armageddon the second he was able to and immediately hatched a plan for how they could stop it. Now that he knows Heaven and Hell are plotting the next one right now, he wouldn't just pretend it's not happening. I just don't see it. If they weren't separated, Crowley would possibly plan a day off and enjoy their extremely alcoholic breakfast at the Ritz, but then it would be back to business. Back to saving the Earth together.
Aziraphale doesn't learn crucial information not because Crowley intends to keep him ignorant but because Metatron prevents him from sharing it.
If the goal was to separate Aziraphale and Crowley, Metatron's logic is correct. Taking Aziraphale to Heaven was the best and most efficient way.
But it is possible there was more.
2. Metatron's goal was to get Aziraphale
Metatron offered Aziraphale the position of Supreme Archangel.
It's suspicious for a great many reasons, but one that I don't think we're addressing enough is that there was a position to be offered at all.
Think about it.
There was no Supreme Archangel for the entire duration of season 2.
Metatron was very big on Heaven's image and avoided anything that might imply there was an institutional problem. Logically, when he removed Gabriel from office, he should name his replacement right away. But from what we know - which, okay, is very incomplete, but still - he didn't even mention it.
It didn't look good at all.
It looked even worse when Gabriel didn't go quietly but ran. I mean, nothing tells "no institutional problems" like facing a crisis without a leader, with Archangels squabbling over who was responsible for what, right?
With what we know about all characters at this point, I find it hard to imagine Metatron just failed to pick someone. I'm more inclined to believe he had a reason to leave the post open.
Yes, the most plausible reason I can think of is that he had someone specific in mind and he knew he had to approach that person very carefully and at just the right moment.
So, what may happen in season 3?
I've seen a lot of theories that Metatron won't stop at taking Aziraphale to Heaven but will also tamper with his memories to better control him.
I think it's very likely too. In fact, I think that might have been one of the reasons why Meatron was in such a rush to take Aziraphale back with him. We know that memory wipe can be done remotely but that doesn't mean it's unlimited. Perhaps an angel needs to be in Heaven for the procedure to work?
What I think will happen is pretty much what all the fandom thinks will happen - Metatron's plan will fail and it will be in part because he underestimates Aziraphale again.
Specifically - and that might be a less popular opinion - I think Metatron underestimates Aziraphale's innate capacity for rebellion and overestimates Crowley's influence on him in that regard.
In season 1 when Aziraphale finally decided to truly go against Heaven it wasn't because Crowley convinced him to. It was because Heaven disappointed him. Yes, Crowley convinced him to do many things, to take many small steps that made the big final step easier. But still, that final step was all Aziraphale. And he is capable of taking that step again, even without his memories.
In the end, what I expect from season 3 is Aziraphale and Crowley to be reunited and play the final game as a team. What I hope for in season 3 is that they will both achieve something on their own before that happens.
I've seen a lot of people speculate that they'd both keep hitting dead ends until they're back together. Honestly, I don't want that to be the case. I want the story to reflect their relationship and what I want for their relationship is to be a choice, not a necessity. I don't want them to be useless on their own and only capable of functioning together. I want them to be capable on their own but stronger and happier together.
That concludes this series of posts. Thank you all for reading!
I'll probably do a mother post for it and I'll keep posting other metas and analyses. I might write about our sister fandom once the final episode of S2 hits. Most likely I will slow down a little and return to work on that one GO fanfic I started not long after season 1...
Whether I'm active here or not, I love you, you're the best fandom to be part of!

Some ideas on Theia, Fionn, Pelias and the High Lords
Since House of Flame and Shadow is coming out soon, I want to leave this registered here for posterity hahaha. I'm doing most of this by memory, I haven't really reread, so any mistakes you find that's probably it lol. Also this is WAY more focused on CCity and its character's than ACOTAR proper.
ACOSF introduces us to the Daglan and Fionn, the First and Only High King of Prythian. According to the Prythian side of the legend, he has a sword called Gwydion which was dipped into the Cauldron by the High Priestess Oleanna, which he used to defeat the Daglan. Milennia of peace followed, the land was divided in the precursors to the courts, but then they were at the brink of war. He became High King and was betrayed by his best friend and his Queen, who was also queen of her own territory in her own right.
In Crescent City, we are introduced to the figure of Queen Theia, the Starborn Queen who led the Fae out of their homeworld and brought them to Midgard. She had two daughters, Helena and an unnamed second one. She was betrayed by her most trusted general, Pelias, who then married her daughter and forced her to bear his children. Her other daughter escaped, never to be heard from again. The Starsword beloged to Theia. Come HOSAB, we learn it and Gwydion are one and the same.
Applying Occam's Razor to these two characters, the simplest outcome is that Theia was Fionn's wife and the one who betrayed him, Helena and Nameless Daughter are their children, and Pelias is the best friend and general who betrayed him. Fionn probably wasn't a great person because let's be real, Theia found Aidas later and SJMs has a thing for making past love interests looking bad when a new one is in town (example: Shahar for Hunt).
I don't want Fionn to have been evil! And I guess this is what these ideas boil down to. I'm not even gonna call them theories because they aren't really based on hard evidence. Just fun What Ifs, possible parallels, headcanons. Who knows? So without further ado:
What If Pelias played the role of Iago?
We all know Pelias is utter trash. He betrayed his Queen and forcibly married her daughter so she could be the mother of his now royal children. If he was Fionn's best friend, I have exactly zero reason to think he wasn't trash and power hungry then too. All in all, regardless of what Theia and Fionn's relationship was like (and I want to believe they were both good people), I believe Pelias was the root of all evil.
I can see him feeling inferior to both: Theia with her blazing starlight compared to his meagre one and Fionn was probably remarkable in his own way. I like to think that though they didn't love each other, there was respect and trust and even camaraderie. They both played their part in expelling the Daglan. Fionn got to be High King and married Theia, who was Queen of Dusk. He was their friend, relegated to their shadows.
This gets even juicier if we accept as true that Pelias was always a Starborn Prince. Maybe he was Theia's illegitimate brother, maybe a distant relative. I can see him wanting everything his friends have: the crown of High King, the title of King of Dusk, everything. Greed and Jealousy that drove him to manipulate his closest friends into turning against each other and ended with Theia slaying Fionn.
He never got to reap the rewards in Prythian, though: Theia's killing of Fionn sent the realm into disarray. We are told the Fae were lured to Midgard, and I think that's because Theia took the chance to flee a whole land that wanted her dead for her crime either for justice or their own greed (we will come back to it). Theia escaped believing Pelias was her friend and trusted general. I don't think they were ever lovers. Maybe that too played a role in his jealousy and anger, how Theia never loooked his way and found love with Aidas.
Regardless, he betrayed and murdered her anyway, dooming her daughter to a lifetime of unhappiness.
What if Fionn and Theia were siblings?
Frequently, across Crescent City, we hear that the Starborn have intermarried to keep their bloodline pure (how utterly Targaryen of them). We have yet to hear about any historical examples of such unions, but Fionn and Theia provide a fine opportunity for this to be brought to the table. The Last Starborns marrying out of duty to keep their bloodline pure in their old world. It also goes well with how Gwydion and Truthteller are siblings blades, one belonging to each.
Could Theia have been a Queen of her own territory in her own right then if they were siblings? Why not? Plenty of queens in history were queens in their own right, regardless of their husbands. She could have been the oldest and heir to the Dusk Territory, Fionn the younger sibling who was chosen as the High King. Or maybe he was the eldest and gave up the throne to her. Maybe the territory passed down in the female line or to the strongest starborn. In any case, it's not really a hurdle.
In this scenario, Pelias as their best friend (distant relative/bastard half-sibling/wtv) still works. In fact, it complements it because it highlights Pelias's hatred and envy for them both. They get everything, he gets nothing. Taken further if Fionn didn't have the Starborn's light, but was a legitimate prince.
It would also create an interesting parallel between Ruhn and Bryce. Siblings, one dark and one light. "Maybe there's a knife for me out there", Bryce herself says. Ruhn's the older brother and as far as we know, the heir, but it's Bryce who is most often compared to a Queen. Not him, though if I recall, Bryce think she will be a good ruler. She is right. Ruhn might carry Pelias light, true, but his shadows are Fionn's.
This time, it doesn't end in tragedy.
What if Theia was Fionn's daughter?
This is VERY far-fetched, I freely admit to it, and was born out of me trying to rationalize the difference between ACOSF and CCity: Gwydion is Fionn's sword, but it'salso the Starsword, which is Theia's.
Simplest solution is either: it was Fionn's and Theia took it all after she killed him and Midgard doesn't have the full story or it was always Theia's and Prythian remembers it incorrectly. The Dread Trove we know was likely made by the Asteri and it wasn't originally Fionn's.
Crackpot theory: Fionn was the Starborn King, hero to the Fae, and married the Night Queen to secure his rule (that's where shadow power would have com into the bloodline). Fionn and his Queen have a daughter, Theia, and Theia herself has two daughters of her own. Who fathered these kids is 100% irrelevant. Sarah didn't give the Archeron sister's father a name, I'm not holding my breath he isn't just a no one.
Pelias is Fionn's best friend and general, and madly jealous of the man. Likely wants to marry his daughter, too. In any case, he and the Queen betray and murder Fionn, intent on setting Theia on the throne. In the end, Pelias tricks Theia into believing it was all her mother, and he is on her side. The Night Queen, ruler of Nightmares, was always a means to an end. Maybe she was aligned with the Asteri too, considering the Wild Hunt imagery in the CoN.
Or maybe the Queen was dead by then, and history has conflated her with Theia. Maybe Theia, Queen after her mother, thought her father was becoming a tyrant and decided to kill him. Maybe Pelias pushed her into it, thinking he could marry her. We actually never know how long Fionn reigned. Theia never stole anything at all: it was always hers by right. She was to be the next High Queen.
And then the High Lords intervened.
What if the reason Theia fled to Midgard was because of the High Lords?
Theia was lured by the Asteri to Midgard. But why? Why did she gave up everything in her former world to a new one? What could have driven her to take such a risk? I think she wouldn't have, had she any other choice. Theia was, to put it simply, pushed against a corner because she had a rebellion in her hands.
If she killed Fionn and he was recognized as the High King and well loved, this may as well have started a rebellion. Not even because he was a good king (maybe he was), but for their own power. The Royal House is in disarray, regardless of its familial arrangement, and what better place to strike? They do not want a High Queen whatsoever.
So they attack Theia. Maybe at some point she loses parts of the Dread Trove, which is why Helion has the reaction he has to the mask: it's an echo from when his ancestor used it against Theia. In any case, she's fighting a losing war. Her people will be eliminated. She's losing and desperte, and the Asteri's call is her salvation. She doesn't notice the trap.
Victorious, the High Lords weave history to be whatever he wanted, twisting or erasing the role she played. And, perhaps, this is why there have been no High Ladies: there's magic preventing it, magic which the first High Lords established to keep the power at bay, because Fionn's only heirs were women.
And this closes the bunch of ideas I wanted to write down lmao. Probably none of this will become canon but hey, it's fun to think of other possibilities! Again, this was all by memory, incosistences galore, self-indulgent, I don't really expect any (except Pelias is the Iago but that's pribably what EVERYONE thinks, but I needed to write it down for the rest to make sense you know).
