How Secret Are the Phantom Thieves' Secret Identities?
Joker
Police: Know exactly who he is due to his arrests and even send people to spy on him from time to time.
Public: Have enough information to find out but not explicitly stated.
When the police revealed that they had caught the leader of the Phantom Thieves on November 20th (and later revealed his death), they did not mention his name. Instead, Joker is described as a teenager on probation for assault who was sent to Tokyo for the year.
Though his school was not directly mentioned, the fact that the first incident occurred at Shujin Academy makes it relatively clear that that is the school he went to. Later, after his second arrest as leader of the Thieves, Shujin admits that he was a student of their school when pushing for his release.
Though they never mention his name, anyone who wanted to could easily do some digging on Shujin Academy, find out there was a transfer student in the second year who had a criminal record, and put the pieces together. So, though his identity was technically never leaked to the public, it appears as if it is more of an open secret.
Interestingly enough, Akane from Strikers does not know Joker’s identity. Despite being a superfan (to the point of running a Phantom Thief news livestream) she can only wonder who he might be. This implies one of three things. Either
A: Despite his identity being easy to find if one did some digging, no one has bothered to actually do the digging and thus he remains anonymous.
B: Hacker extraordinaire Futaba Sakura hid or obfuscated any evidence that could reveal the identity of the leader of the Phantom Thieves based on the information the police gave.
C: Due to the fact that it was the police who leaked most of that info, it is considered poor form to use that information to figure out the leader’s identity.
Option C relies on social etiquette. After all, the Phantom Thieves are very anti-police, and their fans are likely too. The leader of the Phantom Thieves had no say over that information about himself being leaked to the public by the people who literally tried to kill him, so using that information could be considered wrong by his fans. Thus, even though most have a general idea that the leader of the Phantom Thieves is the transfer student from Shujin Academy, actually looking into who that is could be considered rude by Phans and PhantomFreaks.
The Phantom Thieves
Police: Have a hunch but ultimately no proof.
Public: No clue, but maybe some theories based on knowledge of the leader’s identity.
Because Joker never reveals who the rest of the Phantom Thieves are both of the times he is arrested as a Thief, the police do not have definitive proof regarding the other members identities. They likely have hunches, as based on the list Sae reads off during the November 20th interrogation, but any and all evidence is circumstantial at best and largely tied to the simple fact that they know the leader. And every single thief has plausible deniability. That being, they can say that they may have been friends with the leader, but they had no knowledge of his identity and were not part of the operation.
Without more evidence or a confession, there is really know way to prove otherwise, so all of the thieves’ identities remain safe. This is doubled due to the fact that, because there is little to no evidence implicating them and Joker adamantly denied their involvement, there is the very real possibility (at least to the police) that they may not actually be part of the Thieves.
Joker had a lot of associates during his time in Tokyo, and figuring out which are Thieves and which are not runs the risk of the police arresting the wrong person based on little evidence, and landing themselves in hot water afterward. Especially with how popular the Thieves are. So there is really nothing they can do about the rest of the Thieves.
As for the public, because the police have so little to go about regarding the rest of the Thieves identities, the public knows even less. There’s likely speculation, based on the info regarding Joker’s identity that was leaked, but nothing even remotely close to concrete. At the very least, they have some silhouettes and the knowledge that one must be a hacker in order to have stopped Medjed and broadcasted Shido’s calling card.
Akechi
Police & Public: Know he infiltrated the Phantom Thieves in order to orchestrate their arrest before mysteriously disappearing.
Akechi is in an interesting position. After Joker was captured, he went on television and explained to the public how he infiltrated the Thieves in order to get them arrested. Him being a double agent Phantom Thief is public knowledge, no leaking or digging required.
The tricky part is figuring out what people know about everything else. Shido being his father, him being the perpetrator of mental shutdowns and psychotic breakdowns, and all that. Sae is aware of his role regarding the deaths, but it is left unclear if it is just her or if that knowledge was shared with the justice system as a whole. Considering he went missing, bringing up his role in it all might have been considered unnecessary. There is an argument to be made for them knowing and them not knowing.
Similarly with the public, it is unclear whether or not his involvement would be brought up. In any court hearings regarding Shido’s case, they could have easily referred to Akechi as simply “Shido’s metaverse assassin.” Naming him directly is possible, but not necessary, so it is unclear what the public knows.
Confidants
Police: Runs the gambit of No Evidence of Connection to Plausible Deniability is King.
Public: Varies based on public presence.
The confidants find themselves in a variety of interesting situations, based on how much they revealed when trying to get Joker out of jail at the end of the game. Regardless, all of them have plausible deniability. Which is to say that, even if they revealed that they knew the leader of the Phantom Thieves when making their case for his release, they can all say that they did not know until after his arrests, and there is no way for the police to prove otherwise. As such, none of them are actually in danger of any legal retaliation.
Overall, things are on a more case-by-case basis for the confidants, so I’ll go through them one-by-one.
Sojiro
Guardian of the leader of the Phantom Thieves. Police know, but claims plausible deniability (didn’t know Joker was a Thief).
Public could find him out by looking into Joker’s identity.
Chihaya
Claims the Phantom Thieves changed the ADP Chairman’s heart and freed them all from the cult.
Does not need to claim a personal connection to Joker to convince her people to protest his arrest.
As such, police and public likely have no knowledge of her connection.
Iwai
Uses his connections to make certain that Joker is not harmed while in prison.
Under the table - police and public have no knowledge of connection.
Note - Police could technically attempt to trace Joker’s purchases to connect him to Iwai, but Iwai still has plausible deniability (didn’t know what he was buying them for; didn’t care).
That is, assuming Joker didn’t make all his purchases in cash. And that the police were able to get ahold of one of the Thieves’ weapons.
Takemi
Reveals that Joker was the main participant in the test trials for her new drug in order to bolster his positive public image.
Plausible deniability. Had no idea he was a Thief when they were doing the trials.
Kawakami
Acts as part of Shujin in general when pushing for Joker’s release. Public already had a hunch that Shujin was the leader’s school, and this just confirms it.
All teachers have plausible deniability.
By looking into Joker’s identity, public could find out that Kawakami was Joker’s homeroom teacher, but not much else.
Ohya
Finds the lady from the first case and convinces her to admit to the police what truly happened. Also writes a special article about the leader of the Phantom Thieves.
Has no need to reveal a personal connection. She’s simply a reporter doing her job. Police and public have no clue.
Shinya
Rallies the gaming community to protest Joker’s arrest online.
Does not reveal a personal connection. Simply says that Joker is the number 1 ranked player on Gun About (makes sense considering their minor takeover of the website for the start of Shinya’s route) and that he wants to play against him. Police and public have no clue.
Hifumi
Admits publicly on television her personal connection to Joker when pushing for his release.
Plausible deniability. Had no idea that he was a Thief prior to his arrest.
Mishima
Admits publicly his personal connection to Joker when collecting signatures pushing for his release.
Plausible deniability. Had no idea that he was a Thief prior to his arrest.
Yoshida
Protests Joker’s arrest and pushes for his release. Rallies his base and fellow politicians.
Has no need to reveal a personal connection. Simply a politician taking a stance on an important public issue. Police and public have no clue.
Sae
The prosecutor for the Phantom Thief case and Shido’s case.
Public and police know that she is aware of his true identity, as she actively met him.
Public not aware of any personal connection between her and Joker, just the professional connection.
So what’s the most the public could know about the Phantom Thieves?
The average person could know:
Joker’s true identity.
His parents’ names.
His hometown.
The jobs he worked.
His record.
etc.
His guardian in Tokyo was Sojiro Sakura, owner of Cafe Leblanc.
Sojiro has an adopted daughter named Futaba.
He went to Shujin Academy and had Kawakami, Ushimaru, Hiruta, Inui, Chouno, and Usami as teachers.
While at Shujin, he became friends with Yuuki Mishima.
He participated in drug trials run by Tae Takemi.
At some point, he became friends with Hifumi Togo.
One of his friends and possibly fellow Thief is a hacker.
There are seven Phantom Thieves (excluding Akechi), plus the cat mascot.
He played Gun About and was top of the leaderboard.
To get the Thieves arrested, Goro Akechi briefly pretended to be his friend and joined the Thieves.
When arrested, he was interrogated by Sae Nijima. Later on, he interacted with her when testifying against Shido.
Someone who did some digging could also know:
While at Shujin, he also became friends with…
Ryuji Sakamoto
Ann Takamaki
Makoto Nijima
Haru Okumura
Besides Hifumi Togo, he was also friends with Yusuke Kitagawa from Kosei.
Yuuki Mishima runs the Phansite.
He got extra tutoring from Kawakami after school (not what actually happened but what Kawakami’s confidant route was passed off as to Chuono).
Some theories might be:
The “cat mascot” is the Alibaba cat icon.
Both are cats connected to the thieves, and they only see the silhouette of Mona, so it is likely assumed that Mona has the blue crescent eyes, slasher grin, and bomb tail of the Alibaba cat icon.
Tae Takemi is the Thieve’s doctor.
The protag participated in her drug trials. Even if just after the interrogation, he likely needed medical attention. So, though she claims plausible deniability, people likely assume she knew who he was.
Makoto is NOT a Thief and DID NOT KNOW about Joker’s identity until after his arrest.
Her sister was literally the one leading the prosecution. Sae is shown to be a competent prosecutor. Wouldn’t she have realized her sister was one of the people she was trying to catch? Plus, what about conflict of interest?
Likely theories that Joker becoming friends with Makoto helped win Sae over to his side.
Shujin students likely state online that Makoto was spying on him for the principal because of his record, but then seemingly became his friend overtime.
Joker proved he was a good and just person despite his record, so they became friends, but she never suspected his secret identity.
(Maybe even dating?! There’s definitely arguments online on if Joker is in a relationship and some are ride or die for Makoto. Everyone knows the most common love interest is the one outside of the loop that you can’t reveal your secret identity to for fear of them getting hurt!)
Hifumi Togo is a Phantom Thief.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. Why would she reveal her connection to him if she was a Thief? Isn’t that stupid?
But that’s just what she WANTS you to think! STRATEGY!!
Because people think she would never do it, she did it! Perfect. Alibi.
Likely argued to be Futaba’s silhouette.
(Probably a very contentious theory. Lots of arguing on the forums.)
Yusuke is a Phantom Thief.
Most of the Phantom Thief cases (that are not minor Phansite requests) seem to have a personal focus.
Joker is a student at Shujin and both Kamoshida and Kaneshiro had some connection to the school. Shido attempted to kill Joker, and was also the reason he was on probation in the first place. Medjed actively targeted the Thieves and Okumura was at the top of the Phansite’s poll.
Which leaves Madarame as the odd one out. So, clearly, there must be some personal connection. And with Joker having been seen hanging out with Yusuke, that must mean he’s a Phantom Thief!
Argued to be Makoto’s silhouette.
Yuuki Mishima is the Phantom Thieves’ hacker.
He runs the Phansite, after all. He’s already involved in their tech stuff.
Now, whether he IS a Phantom Thief or just works for them is likely a big debate.
Some think he’s their “guy in the chair” who doesn’t directly participate but relays missions, hacks websites, and acts as mission control.
Others think he’s the cat, controlling it as a remote control robot.
Ryuji and Ann are Phantom Thieves.
Plausible deniability or not, their silhouettes are just too distinct. Especially Ann.
Plus they were so close at the start of the year. Clearly, it’s suspicious.
Mika is a Phantom Thief.
Hear me out. Fox’s mask and high collar makes it so that you can’t actually see his hair length. She could totally be hiding her long hair in her jacket!
Plus, everyone knows that Mika and Ann are fashion rivals! And what's a vigilante crack team without some rivalries in the group? Joker was even seen with the two of them a few times!
This came to be purely because of the cross of fashionistas and Phans. Mika milks the theory for all the publicity it is worth.
Haru is a Phantom Thief.
There was BIG debate over Haru and her status. After all, are you really gonna say this sweet, lovely girl killed her father?
But, then again, the Phantom Thieves were proven innocent in the murder of Okumura. So the question changes. Not: Did she want to kill him? Instead: Did she want to change his heart?
BUT THEN AGAIN her father was a member of the Conspiracy, wasn’t he? Who’s to say she didn’t know about that already? Hell, who’s to say she wasn’t INVOLVED?
The fight tends to break into three separate groups. Group one says she got involved to change her father’s heart. Group two says she got involved after her father’s death, to find out what actually happened and catch the person who actually killed her father. And group three says she was part of the Conspiracy herself and joined to take the Thieves down, only to get attached and do a heel-face-turn redemption.
Group three also tends to make her friends with Akechi, as he also infiltrated to take the Thieves down. His awareness of the Conspiracy is unclear, but regardless those in group three tend to have Haru and Akechi turn on the police and Conspiracy to try and save the Thieves, only for Akechi to die or disappear so that Haru can escape.
Akechi cared about the Thieves/Had SOMETHING going on with Joker.
I mean, you don’t reference romance tropes during an interview regarding his time with the Thieves for nothing. The double agent can’t just be a double agent.
See the above dying for Haru theory. But also there are a lot of people that think Akechi and Joker were dating.
Suffice it to say, they don’t get along very well with the people who ship Joker/Makoto.

Random Hashira Post #7
Massive shoutout to the sweet little bee, @koyuki-the-flower for this idea! All credit goes to her!
Tumblr media
The Hashira and the Comedy Club Chaos!
Rengoku Kyojuro
Kyojuro’s sense of comedy is quite innocent and cheerful. He loves his random puns and he regularly goes up to tell jokes
He likes to make up stories to start off his jokes since it’s fun for him to stir up a longer discussion
The crowd legit love him, even if he tells a bad joke or messes up
Kyojuro sometimes accidentally trips over the cable of the microphone, where he is babied by the crowd
Shinazugawa Sanemi
He is not a fan of actually telling jokes but he wouldn’t mind attending the club to challenge himself to a “try not to laugh”
Sanemi‘s sense of humour is based around vile/grime phrases, such as s***de, murder, etc.
Sanemi will gladly throw hands with the club’s local douchebag for being rude towards one of his fellow Hashira
He orders drinks a lot and most likely, gonna be hella drunk by the end of the night
Kocho Shinobu
Doesn’t mind telling jokes but she would much prefer to chill out and enjoy comedy
She has a mix of dark and light sense of humour. She’ll laugh at both variations equally
Shinobu will go up and tell a joke/story-joke at least once or twice throughout the entire event
Shinobu is another drinker of the Hashira. Not as bad as Tengen and Sanemi, though, she goes hard with wine
Tomioka Giyuu
Giyuu will NOT ever go up and tell jokes. Try force him and he’ll go hide in the bathrooms
His sense of humour is very dark, horribly screwed and centred around the not-so nice unlive option. Don’t let him even make up jokes
Giyuu may just bring his katana with him for “self defence” and empty-threateningly raise it whenever the comedy club host calls him out to go up
He is most likely messing around on his phone the entire night as he pays for the Taxi to pick up the big group by the end
Uzui Tengen
To be honest, this man is the king of humour and comedy clubs
He is the Hashira that is mostly telling jokes and hogs the stage a lot throughout the night
Tengen enjoys all the drinks he orders as he randomly starts singing out his next joke
Tengen will make smut jokes and/or joke-references quite a lot, it’s kinda scary
Kanroji Mitsuri
The second most frequent joke-teller of the Hashira. She loves making people laugh
Mitsuri has the most wholesome and cute sense of humour, that it’s impossible for her to say anything naughty or gross
Mitsuri makes cat jokes and pulls up funny cat pictures as often as she can. She finds them funny
She doesn’t touch drinks at all, alongside Muichiro, Giyuu and Gyomei, and helps drag the drunk Hashira out of the club
Tokito Muichiro
Seriously. Never let him tell jokes, even more ‘no’ then Giyuu
Muichiro always forgets what he is saying so he blurts off for ten minutes and has to be shooed off stage
That’s fine. Muichiro prefers listening to jokes within the crowd anyway
And mayhaps, judging specific ones based on his very picky sense of humour. He laughs like only once or twice for the entire night
Himejima Gyomei
Will laugh at absolutely anything, even if it’s not really funny to him. He likes cheering people up
Shows support to his fellow Hashira by coming up with jokes out of thin air for them to use
Gyomei is experienced in joke-telling with his past of children care so he does have a wholesome sense of humour
Gyomei will go up anytime he is asked or anytime he feels like he should
Iguro Obanai
The literal king of dark humour. His jokes aren’t the over-the-top dark but just the right amount of edgy
Do you suspect Obanai would only make snake puns? At minor times he does. In all honesty, he is more of story-joker
Obanai will tell jokes on stage if Mitsuri asks him too. If not, he’s enjoying the chaos in the background
Surprisingly, he is the one who collects the drinks for the Hashira. He happened to be getting up at the right time
I don’t know the artist name but credit, of the art above, goes to him/her/them!

ok so i was talking to @to-be-a-dreamer @tarantulas4davey and @carpe-diem-since-1899 about racetrack things the other day and i just thought i would dump some of those thoughts here bc i am So invested in this weird little guy
anyway i just ,, i have a lot of feelings abt jack passing the newsies onto racer once he ages out.
i feel like. charlie is the next choice, but charlie in my eyes is the same age as- if not older than- jack; if jack hadn’t been the leader of the newsboys, it definitely would have been charlie, but jack is the one who took the reins. (this age hc is mostly because of west endsies ngl.) anyway! moving on
jack and charlie have always been a team. charlie is definitely jack’s second in terms of always being there, but race is his second in terms of business- it only makes sense for race to take over when jack is gone, and i just,, i love the concept of race either not really wanting that or not really knowing how to handle that. i think, at his core, race is trying to hold onto whatever youth he has left. its why he’s always cracking jokes, despite how jaded and angry he is under the surface. he pretends not to care or else he’ll crack under the pressure, and when he cracks, it’s angry. it’s mean. his bark is as bad as his bite. so he puts on this front- this childish, snarky, comedic relief front- and he’s terrified of the implications of Being The Leader because he feels like he’ll no longer have that front to hold onto or hide behind. and it takes him a long time, i think, to realize that he doesn’t have to be exactly who Jack was- he can lead the newsboys how he sees fit, he doesn’t need to be a carbon copy of jack, because they’re fundamentally so different. and i think that is just very fun
but more on the anger, because i think it’s an interesting take that is very much represented in West Endsies- as @roideny and @jack-kellys have pointed out before:
i’m interested in the other newsies- especially albert, finch, and maybe spot- seeing that sadness and strain and anger that seems to be taking it’s place as his dominant trait. yeah. bc i think,, i think race is angry at his core, like i said. angry at his position in all of this. angry that jack left, that charlie followed, that davey was never staying in the first place, that spot still thinks of him as a kid instead of a new leader, that other burrough leaders don’t take him seriously because they know him as the jokester. angry that these kids are his kids now, and angry that his kids are still starving, still walking holes in their shoes, still shivering at night and still dying of sickness when the cold weather hits too hard. i want this race to be fucking pissed and i want everyone else to be caught off guard by it.
because, let’s be real, jack wasn’t the roughest leader. he was strong, and dependable, and not afraid to put kids in their place, but he’s still nurturing and parental. after years of being used to that, i think the newsies would struggle with Race for a while, especially as race tries to figure out his leadership style, and i think a lot of that would manifest in this anger that has been bubbling up under the surface for ages- the anger he never lets anyone see because he doesn’t want that.
race has spent anywhere from 5 to 10 years- depending on when you headcanon him to join the newsies- being the funny guy, the clown, the joker; if he’s going to earn respect, he’s going to have to take it from a few kids. lashing out and being brash- all for the sake of keeping everyone safe, of course- but he’s such a different leader than jack, and i think it would be SO fun to explore that more in post-canon works.
i feel like this post is a little disjointed and i may not be explaining things correctly, plus i haven’t actually seen west endsies yet! a lot of this is based on convos with the besties and i am just having brainrot. besties, feel free to jump in with any additions, and anyone reading this: feel free to send asks or talk in the tags <33

Nerdy Pet Peeves
AKA things that people say about the Flash and the Rogues that bug me when found in supposedly-informative lists or videos.
"Barry/Wally is an inferior copy of Wally/Barry!" This one is usually just a lead-up to an internet flame war, and ignores that the two characters are both distinct, interesting, and likable in their own right. It's also just objectively not true (except when applied to adaptations, which have a bad habit of blending the two characters together). This isn't to say that people can't like one better than the other, or even dislike one, but to claim that either character is objectively unworthy of being the Flash/existing is a bit much.
"Barry was/is boring." I like Wally a lot (he is my favorite Flash, although by an extremely narrow margin), but I can't agree with people who claim that Barry is boring, or was boring before the retconned-in death of his mother. He wasn't. As white-bread as he seems, Silver/Bronze Age Barry Allen was a deeply weird individual. He had weird friends (like Albert Desmond, an ex-supervillain, and his 12-year-old neighbor), weird and dorky hobbies (collecting comics being the most notable), and did very weird things (like dressing up as a supervillain basically just to troll the Rogues, which @gorogues has some good scans of). He also has a solidly-written relationship with Iris (at least in the Bronze Age; not so much in the Silver Age) and actually has a number of really solid and emotional stories. I think a lot of the reputation Barry has as being boring stems from the fact that Cary Bates' run on the character, which did a lot to establish his more idiosyncratic character traits and emotional range, isn't published in reprints very often. As such, most modern fans don't know about Barry as he was written in that time period, and miss out on his more interesting character beats. Although I may be biased by the fact that I love Silver and Bronze Age comics.
"Captain Cold is a knock-off Mr. Freeze." Even setting aside the massive differences in their appearances, personalities, and backgrounds, Captain Cold debuted in 1957. Mr. Freeze didn't appear as Mr. Zero until 1959, and didn't become the Mr. Freeze most audiences are familiar with now until BTAS in the 1990s. So if anyone is a knock-off, it's Mr. Freeze, not Captain Cold (though the two are very distinct and I don't think either of them is a rip-off).
"Heat Wave is a knock-off Firefly." Again, the two are massively different in appearance, personality, and backstory, and, while Firefly does technically predate Heat Wave, he didn't start using a flamethrower until the early 1990s, at which point Heat Wave had been around---using his heat gun---for nearly 30 years. Before that, Firefly had light-based powers.
"Trickster is a second-rate Joker." Different powersets, different backstory, totally different personality, and different goals. Trickster is a barnum and a showman; Joker is a twisted comedian. Just because they're both vaguely humor-themed does not make them the same character.
"Heat Wave is boring/didn't age well." I've seen this opinion in a few different places, and it baffles me. Heat Wave is plenty interesting. He had a bit of a rough patch in the New 52, but other than that he's pretty consistently had good stories, his character has been firmly established, and his backstory is really interesting (and suitably grimdark for those people who think comics need to be "mature"). Is it just because his costume is mostly kind of monochrome? Or because his heat gun isn't as flashy as some of the other Rogues' weapons?
"Trickster is the Flash's Joker/a homicidal maniac." This one is basically entirely the fault of adaptations, which do keep turning the Trickster (specifically, James) into the Joker in all but name. In the comics, the Trickster is many things, but he is not a homicidal maniac. It's one of the things that separates him from the Joker. I love Mark Hamill (even as the Trickster), but he's not playing the Trickster from the comics, and it bothers me when people apply the traits of the TV Tricksters to their comic counterpart.
"Captain Boomerang is lame/stupid." Does it make total sense that a normal guy who throws boomerangs can fight the Flash? No. Does it matter? No. This is comics we're talking about; they're inherently kind of silly. That's what makes them so fun---and why Captain Boomerang is so great. Also, Digger is way more skilled, more deadly, and more ruthless than he gets credit for. He's actually one of the scariest Flash villains when his back is to the wall. @gorogues, you probably have some good scans of impressive Digger feats. Also, if you apply the logic used to judge Captain Boomerang as lame, then characters like the Joker are also, objectively, kind of lame.
"Ha ha ha, the Top spins! LOL! What a stupid villain." He has telekinetic powers and tried to blow up half the world in his first appearance. Plus, he's a ghost who can possess corpses, and can be downright terrifying when he wants to be. I don't know why people have such a hard time taking him seriously. It's not like his costume is that much weirder than Sinestro's. Or Lex Luthor's purple-and-green battle armor. Thankfully, this one does seem to have become less common than it used to be.
Similarly, "ha ha, the Golden Glider skates! That's silly!" In the Bronze Age, Lisa was the scariest Rogue of them all, and arguably came the closest to achieving her goals. The fact that she ice skates does not negate the fact that she was absolutely deadly, and would have fit right in with the darker modern era of comics. And her costume's not even silly looking! This opinion seems to have become less common of late, but unfortunately it has, in part, been replaced by....
"The Golden Glider is the nicest of the Rogues/nicer than her brother." This one is the fault of the comics themselves, since they've been writing her this way for about a decade at this point. So this one is less a criticism of people online and more a criticism of DC's writing decisions for the Golden Glider. Lisa is more than Captain Cold's cute little sister. She is capable of functioning on her own, and this perception of her as being nothing but generally cute and nice (and led into crime by her brother!) kneecaps her as an independent character. The fact that Cary Bates, who was writing during the 1970s and 1980s, is still Lisa's best writer is a little sad.
People who confuse/conflate Eobard Thawne and Hunter Zolomon, or describe Zolomon as though he's the version from the 2014 TV show rather than the more nuanced character from the comics. This happens more than it should, especially in lists and videos that are supposed to be explaining the Flash, and it just adds fuel to the fire that is people confusing them.
"The Rogues were lame until Geoff Johns started writing them." Geoff Johns was a great writer for the Rogues, and did develop a lot of their backstories, but the Rogues were just as great in the Silver and Bronze Ages, and Roscoe and Lisa were actually much better in that era than under Johns' pen (especially since Johns hated Roscoe). There are tons of good Rogues stories from earlier eras, and I think that they're vital to understanding the characters (especially poor Sam, who has had maybe three good stories since he was brought back to life in 2011).
"Captain Cold is the only Rogue that matters." This usually isn't stated precisely in this way, but I see this general sentiment quite frequently. This idea seems to assume that the Rogues are Len's henchmen, rather than his teammates, and therefore that they aren't interesting or important in their own right. Some of this can be laid at the feet of Geoff Johns, who really, really, really loved Len and seemed to not put as much time or effort into characterizing the other Rogues. I also think Joshua Willaimson's run was rather bad about this, as it portrayed Len as a pretty absolute, selfish leader and seemed to imply that the other Rogues were evil primarily because of his orders/influence. Even Johns' run didn't do that!
"The Rogues are only a threat to the Flash as a group." Again, this one can probably be attributed at least in part to the fact that most modern comic runs never show the Rogues operating independently, but historically they were all threatening and capable in their own right when fighting the Flash. Teaming up made them more threatening, but they were capable on their own.
"Sam (the first Mirror Master) is boring." This one is kind of true, but only if it's in reference to the post-Flashpoint version of the character. Pre-Flashpoint Sam, who also frequently gets called boring, was the most dynamic Rogue in the entire Pre-Crisis era, and was anything but boring. He was showy, cocky, dynamic, clever, and extremely entertaining. Silver/Bronze Age Mirror Master is the most fun you can have reading Pre-Crisis Flash.
People who confuse Evan and Sam, or Axel and James. Admittedly, DC hasn't been helping matters any by combining them into weird hybrids so much, but when writing an informative list about Sam, one should make sure that you're not including backstory elements than only apply to Evan, and that you're not attributing some of Evan's more violent activities, addictions, or eldritch powers to Sam. Similarly, when talking about the Trickster, make sure that you don't give Axel's backstory to James (or vice versa).
"The Rogues are lame/joke villains/aren't capable of fighting the Flash." This opinion isn't nearly as common as it once was, but it still pops up from time to time. It's as though the Rogues' costumes and names are preventing people from realizing that they're very capable combatants.

The Batman Part II: My Theories
Please take this with a block of salt because as of right now all we have are rumors. Maybe take that block of salt home to your cows :)
Theory #1: Clayface
So, word is that Clayface may appear as the main villain in Part II. I've noticed some people in various comment sections being doubtful, because a giant shapeshifting monster made out of clay is a sharp left turn from the "grounded realism" of the first movie. They make a good point, which is why I predict that, if Clayface is actually going to appear, he'll be based on the Golden Age version. This was Basil Karlo, a failed actor who took on the alter ego of Clayface, a villain he used to play, to kill various actors and was thwarted by Batman and Robin.
Now, having two serial killer villains in a row would be repetitive, so I theorize that this Clayface will take a different approach. Imagine Basil Karlo using his skills in impressions and makeup (maybe a cutting-edge prosthetic face mask called a "clay face") to impersonate celebrities in Gotham, only to purposefully get caught in scandals. The real celebrity insists it wasn't them, but it's too late, and they're effectively "killed" in the courtroom of public opinion. And Clayface didn't even need to lay a finger on them.
Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne is finally trying to develop his public image after ~20 years, only to discover a villain with the ability to singlehandedly undo all his progress in the eyes of Gotham. In the comics, this would be the part where Batman and Robin are on the case, which leads me to...
Theory #2: Robin
We haven't had a well-received Boy Wonder on the big screen since Burt Ward played him in 1966. If you're anything like me, that's pretty damn frustrating (Dick Grayson appeared in the comics before the Joker AND before Alfred!). So hearing this rumor of Dick Grayson appearing in Part II is both exciting and nerve-wracking, because writing a believable child sidekick in a "grounded, realistic" superhero movie is a challenge. Just logistically, it works in stories like Logan or The Last of Us, because X-23 is immortal and can shrug off most injuries, while Joel eventually taught Ellie how to shoot. But with Batman and Robin, you have a very-much-mortal kid wearing a colorful costume going up against the kinds of people who quite literally emptied their magazines into Batman's chest last movie. How do you make that character fit believably into the world you've made?
Obviously the only ones who can answer that question are Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, the writers for Part II. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't notice some ways that Dick Grayson might've been set up in The Batman. First off: the mayor's son. Bats interacts with him three times throughout the movie. He saves the kid's life twice, once as Bruce and once as Batman. Furthermore, the mayor's son is the first civilian to trust Batman after the flood: he walks towards Bats first, and everyone else follows. In the wise words of Red from OSP, if you can't imagine your Batman comforting a scared child, then you haven't written Batman, you've written the Punisher in a funny hat.
Second: HBO's Penguin series. The fact that they're introducing other gangsters from the comics (Sofia and Alberto Falcone, Salvatore Maroni) gives me hope that they might take the opportunity to introduce Tony Zucco, the gangster who killed Dick Grayson's parents. There are quite a few actors cast in undisclosed roles, maybe one of them plays Zucco...? Either way, setting up Zucco's extortion of Haly's Circus in The Penguin and following it up in Part II with the Flying Graysons' murders would be a good way to tie those stories together.
Third: Bruce Wayne's reappearance. Part I was all about Batman discovering that he has to be more than vengeance, and Reeves has said we'll be seeing more of Bruce Wayne in Part II. Perhaps Bruce's first major public appearance is attending a performance by Haly's Circus, and he just so happens to witness the deaths of the Flying Graysons. And we know what happens next. What better way to force Bruce to take his image seriously (aside from Clayface's shenanigans) than for him to suddenly have an angry, traumatized, highly impressionable kid in his life?
Fourth: This is the weakest reason, but at the end of the movie Selina mentions she's moving to Blüdhaven, which also happens to be where Dick Grayson goes after growing up and becoming Nightwing.
That turned out longer than I thought it would be. Again, these are all just rumors, but I wanted to put my thoughts and theories down in writing in an organized way, and to see what anyone else thinks. Thank you for reading.

A quick guide to recent Harvey Dent media for new fans (aka Misha stans)
So you've recently become interested in the character of Harvey Dent. Who can say why. Maybe you're interested in getting into comics and he happens to be the one character that's caught your fancy. Maybe you're here because you've been watching this recent TV show and are curious to know more about this one adult guy in the main cast. He seems like a cool guy! Though let's be honest. You're probably a Misha stan who got into Gotham Knights because your boi is in it. Regardless of why you're here, maybe you're looking at this character and wondering what's come out with him lately and if you should check it out! So here! For your viewing/reading pleasure, a quick run-down on Harvey's most recent appearances and where you can expect to see him!
This post is very long, so strap in kiddos!
Gotham Knights
You're likely here because you've been watching this one, so I'll keep this brief. In this latest TV show, Batman has died and was revealed to be Bruce Wayne. A bunch of kids are the top suspects and are being accused by Gotham District Attorney, Harvey Dent. The kids now need to work together to prove their innocence and find the real killer.
I don't plan on watching this show, but Harvey Dent is being played by Misha Collins of Supernatural fame in this one, and it promises to really dive into Harvey's backstory. As of writing this, only the first episode is out, but what we have so far looks entertaining and has been well received by the Misha stans at least. Reviews more generally do seem pretty lukewarm on it though. I can't speak to its quality, but hopefully it's a promising start to what will hopefully be a good portrayal of the character! Who knows what'll happen!?

The Harley Quinn Show
This show is currently in between seasons, and I don't know when it's coming back. It's a show that focuses on Harley Quinn as she tries to become a top villain in Gotham. The first season is her trying to gain respect from the Legion of Doom after breaking up with the Joker. The second season is based off of the "No Man's Land" event that happened in the Batman and related comics in the 90's or something in which the American government decided to give up on Gotham after a disaster, and so Gotham's top kingpins took over the city. Season 2 focuses on Harley's efforts to kill off each of the 5 villains (The Penguin, The Riddler, Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, and Bane) that have risen to power in Gotham. Season 3 sees Harley not really wanting to pursue villainy anymore as she starts being in a relationship with Poison Ivy.
It's a fun show. Pretty funny, incredibly violent, and very gay! If you want to see a sympathetic Two-Face, this is NOT the place to find it! In this series, Two-Face sticks pretty true to his name and is a lying, backstabbing asshole through and through! But hey! The fact that he isn't dead yet when they've had every opportunity to kill him off could mean that they might have something fun planned for him in the future! Hard to say though. In any case, here's his latest appearance in the show as of the writing of this:
youtube
The Joker's wife almost takes a tire iron to his face and I love that for her lol. Two-Face a supreme asshole in this show. But he definitely does have lots of chances to be pretty funny. I think that he still has potential for development and storylines, but thus far he's been pretty one-note. It feels like a DAMN SHAME to not use Two-Face more given the direction that this show is taking, so I have hopes that they'll do something interesting with him soon. (Harley became Bruce's therapist and so the show may take a turn for more interpersonal character drama with psychology thrown in over superhero junk. Feels like a wasted opportunity to not capitalize on Harvey's storied mental health issues for that!) But for now, he's a great antagonist to Harley (and everyone, really), fun to watch for how much of an asshole he is, but isn't much more than that.
Task Force Z
So you've heard of the Suicide Squad before, right? Basically a lot of supervillains join a government taskforce to go on missions that no one else would take. They do the kind of dirty work that superheroes could do, but for whatever reason don't. And the villains that participate in this program get lessened sentences in exchange for their service on these missions. Yeah. So take that... But now it's with zombies. Undead Suicide Squad!
So in this comic, Two-Face recruits Jason Todd (who was formerly one of Batman's Robins but who now has the superhero identity of the Red Hood) to be the field leader of this special undead Suicide Squad taskforce. They have a way of bringing people back from the dead, so instead of getting lessened prison time, the supervillains participating in this program get another chance at life.
I've only read the first issue of this series so far, but I do honestly like what I've read so far. The series is over now, and it's recently been collected into 2 volumes, so it should be pretty easy to find to buy if you so wish! (I've also found both volumes at my local library too!) When it comes to Harvey in this series, honestly, the relationship between him and Jason seems to be a big highlight! Which honestly makes sense. They're both men who have made a lot of mistakes and want to be better. Both have violent pasts, have killed people, and struggle with being on the side of the angels, but are doing what they can to do what's right. If they work together, maybe they can finally be the good guys! Also Jason Todd is probably Harvey's favorite Robin since he's Robin #2, let's be honest. Too bad they're terrible at their jobs! The impression that I get is that their team is constantly dying because Harvey and Jason are both dumbasses and bad at their jobs. Thankfully they can bring their team back to life pretty easily, but they keep sucking at their jobs! The vibe I get from Harvey and Jason's relationship in this series is basically...
Harvey: Are you winning, son!? :D Jason: I fucking hate you, Dent! Harvey: ... I guess that's an improvement over, 'asshole' ... Little steps...
But hey. They're trying their best lol.
Here's the first thing with Harvey in it that I saw in the Task Force Z tag:
Tumblr media
[Source]
(You see in the next panel that Harvey got Jason orange juice. Isn't Harvey such a dad!?) And honestly, if that doesn't make you smile just a little, this series probably isn't for you.
Honestly, this series just seems to be having fun with it and a good time. It doesn't seem to take itself very seriously, and that's perfectly good with me! If that's good with you, maybe check it out!
Batman: the Audio Adventures
So this is a podcast. It's currently on a break as of the writing of this. Season 2 came out, and at the end of season 2, it said that it would be returning in part 2 so like... On the one hand, it ended on a cliffhanger. On the other AHHHHHHHHHHH! So I hear that a part 2 is coming out but WHEN!? If you decide to pick this one up, just know that more is supposed to be coming, we just don't know when.
So the story for this... It's Batman but a podcast. What more needs to be said? But it is a very quality podcast! I've listened to a decent number of podcasts in my time, and this may just be the best podcast I've had the pleasure of listening to! It's funny, it's dramatic, it's well-acted, it has spectacular music, it's moody, the characters are well-written... It's just a delight all around! It's on the same level of quality as audio dramas that I've actually had to pay money to listen to, but for free on Spotify or YouTube or other places you get podcasts! And this may contain my favorite iteration of Two-Face and Harvey Dent.
The Audio Adventures somehow manages to make Harvey a character that you're simultaneously afraid of and afraid for! Harvey and his Associate are horrifically violent, and yet you can't help but to feel bad for Harvey. To my knowledge, they really capture the OCD experience well. You can really feel how much their compulsions control Harvey and how much he wishes he didn't have to be like this. His life is fully out of his control and he well and truly can't help himself. And his Associate just isn't helping. This is an iteration of Two-Face in which he has Dissociative Identity Disorder, has him be a villain, and yet somehow manages to not inherently demonize DID. Harvey's Associate is a welcome addition to the cast, and for once isn't someone that they're trying to get rid of! Harvey is simply tragic in this podcast, but is also immensely intelligent, and the way he bounces off of his Associate is just captivating to listen to.
If you like BruHarvey, or just want to see a piece of media that really zooms in on the tragedy of his character, this is a great one to go with! In terms of BruHarvey, there are some moments in season 2 that are choice. Just. Chef's kiss!
Here's a monologue that Harvey and his Associate have together about shoulder angels and devils. It doesn't have much of anything to do with what Harvey's going through in this season, but it does capture their characters well.
tumblr_video
They are absolutely unhinged, and I gotta say that I love that about them <3
The Doom that Came to Gotham
This animated film came out like... Within this last month. I haven't gotten the chance to watch it yet and I don't know that I will because it contains a LOT of upsetting things! It's Batman, but with eldritch horror! This is an Elseworld's story. This film is basically an H.P. Lovecraft-style AU for Batman. So it takes place sometime in the 1920's, and Harvey Dent is running for Mayor of Gotham. And then lots of terrible things happen and before you know it, demons from another dimension are going through a flesh portal to Gotham to kill everyone. This is NOT a happy story from what I've heard!
If you want to see Harvey just... Suffering SO much, then this is the film for you! Congrats! Apparently it also has a handful of good BruHarvey moments in it though, so at least have that.
For a preview... Here! Just have Harvey crying! I feel like that's a pretty appropriate preview!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Batman (comic series)
So... In the current Batman comic book arc, Bruce Wayne has apparently gotten himself sent to an alternate universe where Batman was never really a thing (Bruce died young or something). And so now Gotham is controlled by a cabal of villains, led by Red Mask, Catwoman, and others including a drugged up and YOLKED Judge-esque Harvey Dent! Sounds like Gotham has become a pretty crappy police state that uses the Scarecrow's Fear Toxin and a police force drugged up on Bane Venom to keep people in line and send dissenters to the sewer. Bruce meets up with the local resistance and becomes Batman for them... Also Commissioner Gordon is a talking skeleton for some reason... >.>
I don't read the Batman comic series, so I can't personally speak to the quality of this current arc, but I've heard that it's been good! From multiple sources! Just not in regards to Harvey lol! Honestly, this Harvey looks a bit... Boring. Interesting idea, but the execution is looking kinda... Ehhhhh. Speaking of execution, in this, Harvey really isn't Two-Face. He seems to be taking after an idea that Batman: the Animated Series introduced of a Judge vigilante that murders people that he deems as guilty of crimes! :D I like the Judge and want to see them do more interesting things with him! Too bad that this might not be it... >.< But hey! If you want a 'roided up Harvey... For some reason... Here you go!
Tumblr media
[Source]
An image of Bruce choking Harvey out because this is what their friendship is all about. u.u (Also Bruce calling Harvey a big boy just tickles me!)
Also Harvey does seem to recognize Bruce in this universe and is quite bothered by how a man has seemingly come back from the dead to kick his ass! So there is some implication here that Harvey and Bruce were still friends of some kind in this universe.
I'm not reading this one, but hey! If this AU idea sounds interesting to you, go ahead and check it out!
Detective Comics
So last but certainly not least, you have the comic series for which the company is named. Now this I actually have been reading! And let me just say, it's quality! Great stuff going on here! Basically they decided to make an Opera-esque Batman story. This current arc is titled, "Gotham Nocturne" and to put the story in as simple of a manner as I can... So the Arkhams (who built Arkham Asylum) descended from the Orgham family which are very powerful foreign dignitaries of some sort. The Orghams have come to Gotham City to gentrify the place to their liking so that they can rule over it unopposed. They are doing this through mind control brain demons, sentient songs, and are just generally trying to burn Gotham City to the ground right now, especially the poorer neighborhoods. Also Bruce is feeling old and has a bat demon from another dimension living in his brain right now. Also Harvey's been GREAT in this story so far!
So when you get a comic book, there will sometimes be a second, shorter story packed in with the main story that you bought the comic for towards the back of the book hence the term "Back-Up Features". Often these stories are unrelated to the main one, but in this case, the stories they've been telling in these back-up features relates to the events of the main one. And so Harvey and Two-Face got their own little story in the back-up features... And that story was excellent! Basically, Harvey has been forced into serving the Orghams against his will and is not very happy about it at all. He has no choice. If he tries to resist the Orghams, the brain demon that they gave him would melt his brain. But Two-Face is not effected by this brain demon and can do whatever he wants... Now if only Harvey would let him have control of the body... This story does a great job of unpacking Harvey and Two-Face's tense history together, and really gets at the heart of their conflict which ultimately culminates in them deciding to try and work together instead of against each other. And honestly, it's simply a wonderful story that addresses their plurality and shows that Harvey and Two-Face are important to each other and in fact need one another! In this story, their plurality isn't an issue that needs to be cured. It's a blessing in disguise and allows them to do things that no one else could! It's a deeply plural story that simply could not be told with a singlet and is everything that I want out of a Two-Face story! You can tell that this story cares deeply for plural people and wants to do them justice! It's a story that rejects the idea that Harvey should strive to live his life as close to a singlet as he can and embraces his plurality, saying that Two-Face isn't someone who deserves to be eradicated, but rather is a person that deserves to be understood and loved as much as any other human being!
Tumblr media
[Source]
This story has so much LOVE for plural people and the individuals that they share their system with. And I genuinely hope that they feel it. It's wonderful and a Two-Face story like none other that has been created thus far for him... And that's a damn shame. It's a shame that there aren't more stories like this. And therefore it's a story that you should read! And this is just the back-up story! There's more good stuff in the main story! Two-Face killed a goddamn werewolf in the main story! :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Source] (That guy he shoots is a werewolf, trust me.)
And we're still in only the FIRST act of this Batman opera! We have a LONG way to go until the end of this story, and it promises to be incredible if the quality keeps up!
Sadly, Harvey may have departed from the story for now. After Two-Face saved Batman in the images above, and got Bruce fixed up a bit, Two-Face basically threatened Batman, telling him to leave them alone and that if he tries curing Harvey ever again, that he'll torture and kill everyone Bruce loves and then himself, and then he exited stage left. But hopefully he'll turn up again in the story! I hope he does at least! If he doesn't I'll be real sad and upset!
-
And so there you have it! Some of Harvey Dent's most recent appearances and where you can find some of the most recent stories he's in! Even if you don't end up checking any of these out, hey! At least now you know where you can look into the character a little more and know a little of what's going on in the Batman universe right now!

I see batfam age swap stuff all the time. Which is fine! It’s a fun thought experiment of “how would these characters and their interactions change if their ages were reversed”. And that’s good and fun and all
But I see a lot of the age swaps just. Slap Damian into the role of Nightwing, and then Tim into the role of Red Hood, and so on so forth. Which again, it’s your AU you can do with it as you want! But for me personally, it feels like an “easy solution” for age swap that undermines what makes each character themself
Like. With Damian as Robin then Nightwing. Damian wouldn’t be Robin if he were the first vigilante child Bruce adopts. Damian may still be a vigilante but he wouldn’t be Robin. Robin is a name that Dick chose to honor his parents; the color scheme is an homage to his family’s legacy. Damian doesn’t have that history; he wouldn’t have any reason to choose the name of Robin. He’s a child who was raised by assassins, who has been abused and hurt, who is angry and lethal and dangerous. He’s capable of kindness and love and hope and healing but he would probably choose a darker name. Shadow, Wraith, something as a nod to his history or something relating to Bats as a nod to him trying to turn over a new leaf. If Damian were the first kid, he would never have been Robin.
He could still potentially choose the name Nightwing for himself, seeing as Dick got the name from Superman, but he wouldn’t be the same Nightwing as Dick is. Damian wouldn’t use escrima, he wouldn’t be as acrobatic or sassy. He’d be more serious, he’d wield a sword, he’d be Damian, not Dick.
I could go on… like Tim wouldn’t be Red Hood. Red Hood is all about the drama, the suspense, the revenge. That’s not Tim’s style. He can be sassy and dramatic and angry and hold a grudge too, but his style is just dealing with the problem quickly. He wouldn’t stage a massive takeover of Gotham’s drug trade to build to a massive showdown of “it’s me or the joker, batman, you gotta choose-”. He’d just kill Joker himself. Tim can be extremely cool and calculated when he wants to be; he single handedly blew up League bases during his quest to save Bruce. If Tim were the second son and killed by Joker, he may still keep Batman at a distance, may be bitter about his death, may still be an anti hero, but he wouldn’t be the same Red Hood that Jason Todd is. Just like Jason Todd wouldn’t be the Red Robin Tim is. Heck, a Red Hood may not even exist in an age swap since Bruce would have had two other kids before him to learn how to parent, and Jason died because he ran off on his own to chase down his bio mother. Were Bruce to have gone with him, or Damian or Tim to have gone with him, he probably wouldn’t have died and been able to get out of the trap.
Anyway, tl;dr: i don’t love age swap au’s because it feels extremely ooc/unrealistic to just swap the batfam’s hero names and move on and that’s how most of the ones I’ve read have gone. But there’s a lot of potential for an age swap AU that is still faithful to each character’s individuality, backstory, and character growth

Different AUs  of Nathans
1.  Nathan-Crystal (Creepypasta- Circuspasta AU):  For Nathan as far horror AUs, I have several.
An old one where Nathan dies within the walls of the basement, as he lays there dying, hands aching from his failed; Delirious, he envisions himself walking out the door, into the bright light ahead of him but suddenly he's pulled back to reality when he sees the outline of two men standing in the doorway. Both laughing and mocking the dying teen. No amount of effort on his behalf could move him, he was too hungry, too weak, too far gone.  He could hear them mocking him, unable to discern what was other than key words of “Sister” and “Dead”. With panic and a new sense of rage, he attempted to lift himself, only to crash back down as they laughed and slammed that door once more. With this, he falls into darkness, away from the light, only left with that rage and need for revenge, a voice so clearly asks him. “ Do you want your revenge?” Two voices replying back that indeed they will do anything to get their revenge. - This version is the AU where Nathan himself is no longer human but some kind of entity. Originally I had him trap the soul of his sister within that crystal necklace. However, I am thinking with this AU to change this. All for fun of course.
The Second AU is based off the Circuspasta theme, seeing he's often around the "circuspasta's" themselves, I had the idea of a fun AU (that I plan to doodle one day once I find my motivation again really). In this AU him and Crystal are conjoined twins, attached to one another. Honestly, there it many ways I have thought about taking this. Such as twins born conjoined (whether logical or not, nonsensical is amusing after all), another way they are conjoin is actually the canon but with a more supernatural twist, where one houses a physical body and one in soul only in the AU playing on the telekinesis angle (Think Beyond: Two Souls). The other possibility being horrible experiment or disturbing modification where one twin is attached to the other (Alive or Dead). Either way, playing into the circus theme of conjoined twins.
2. (Umbra Series): Many AUs as its too fun to not think of alt scenarios.
Nathan Lux: Originally he was replacing the AU I mentioned above. Giving up his humanity to become immortal in attempts to save his loved ones, IE Crystal (who was reborn within the world, not by choice), and Ciara, who is under control of her father, Night Terrors, being in a real threat of death if she doesn't do as her father demands of her. (Collect Souls for his consumption). He also aimed to become semi-immortal so that he could stay by Ciara's side until they both pass on. In order to do this, he needed to become more than human. So that he may fight in the true world that is filled with monsters, creatures, demons, angels and so on.
Natalia Maxine Luxenia (AFAB AU):  Literally his AFAB AU, I've dabbled with her for a long time, mostly for silly RPs. I'd say ever since I created Nathan back in 2014. Officially gave her a canon ref recently. Seeing she is placed with in Umbra's world and narrative I made her a sub-species of human. Unlike the other AUs so far, she does not have siblings, however, she does have her family( well father) killed in front of her at a young age. Leading to a tragic upbringing with a evil fae like man, nicknamed "joker", who is a human trafficker (more less rents out the adult humans he lays claim on.) By luck, she manages to make her escape, running into humans of her own subset. Now as an adult exploring the world, looking for signs that her mother is still alive. Meanwhile, unaware of the very real threats to her life from the hunters tracking her down for the wicked fae.
3. Nathel (Mermaid): This stemmed from a silly RP between many friends on ask. While this hasn't received much of a story arch or anything else other than. "Hey, its Nathan as a Man of Mer." I've decided to maybe take this AU into a species I've created. Possibly the naga-mermaid hybrid species called "Syrion".
4. Nathan L(Genyr): At the time, there wasn't much to go on with the Genyr Species and how they were made, being creepypasta related (at the time thanks to candy pop) I decided to experiment with a comic format, having the wicked side of Pop's personality being the cause of Nathan's transformation. Nowadays, he's apart of the new age Genyrs that were saved when all the other Genyr's were consumed, ironically thanks to their species rivals, more to the king of the Dhokkalfers (Aka Mire's and Pop's father).  (he'll have a more Genyr name for now just calling him Nathan lol)
5. Nathan Walleis (Dream Daddy): Yes, based of the game. Nathan in this AU sports glasses, and is simple an aesthetic character as I never found time to expand more than "Dad who reads too much" energy. Did plan to maybe play off a assassin vibe but was hesitant.
6. Yanni (DDLC): AH, yes DDLC. I invented a lot into his AU here, thank to friends who at the time were into DDLC. Premise was interesting in my mind. Based off Monika's obsession with the player, Nathan (main version of him) plays the game for fun after taken care of the residence of the house. Once he's done, rather thinks he's gotten to the end, he leaves the game be. Running off from the crime scene. Monika wanting the player back, clones Nathan, giving him life within the game as Yanni. Along with his sister. She ends up rewriting the code of the game to make them side characters with their own clubs in hopes to keep them away from the other LC members.
7. Not Named Yet  (Twisted Wonderland): A proud member of the Diasomnia, a dorm known for students who excel at magic across the board. His plan joining Night Raven College was in hopes to prove his worth to possibly join in ranks to guard the highly regraded, Malleus Draconia, However, his quiet demeanor and issues with communication he has yet to accomplish his goal. (Note: This plot might change in the future tbh, made on a whim lol)
Honorable mentions:
Aun: So Aun here is his own character, but when I first crafted him he was legit an AU Nathan. I was like AU N should be the character that has some of the opposite physical characteristics.  Such as white textured hair, eyes colors the mix of blue and green, and less tense than our very anxious Nathan. Both still sassy, though Aun shows it more. I wanted them to almost feel like twins. I used the term 2P not really understanding the meaning lol.
Cat form: Look he gives off black/grey cat energy. So his AU/ Spirit form is a black cat! Plus an inside joke between friends... if you know you know.
Creepypasta café: One my friend Alloween created! Nothing more to state, as they created Nathan's role and I just had fun jumping off with the idea.
AU Psychiatric Hospital:  Another Creepypasta AU/Spin off based on BleedingHeartWorks comic "Desolation." Where Nathan is found criminally insane and sent to said hospital.
Ashur (The Demons Den - Nature Demons): A species homage to Nathan, not nessassarly him. I had no intentions of the fact but their traits are uncanny,
Noctis ( Warpa AKA War Paint Demons):  Same deal here, a semi-homage but not intentional per say.  ~~~~ This took a while to finish, no regrets >w< I do have images, however I don't trust tumblrs character CAP lol

Perfect Blue Review
Tumblr media
Review: 7.8/10
This was a very interesting watch. I guess I can check off watching a rated R movie for school. The thing about this show besides being very intense, is that all that happened is actually true. Things that happen in this show can and may have happened to many people in the film industry and Hollywood. A lot can be talked about with this show.
First off, the biggest theme that stuck out to me was identity disorder. We first see that Mima is a pop star singer that wears cute dresses. She knows what her job is and what happens outside her job. The rest of the movie Mima changes her job and enters the acting world which is seen by her agents as the "next big thing" for her. In this new world she experiences a lot of new things. I feel like she was questioning whether she should leave the pop star singer role being torn between her old career that she loved and this new acting career. She is also struggling with all the new stuff in the acting world. I think the role to play a rape victim in the show just added to all the stuff she was going through mentally. I think as an actress you need boundaries and going into a role like that right away is just terrible especially if you don't know what the scene entails and if the film makers and other actors have the best intentions for you in general.
I was talking with my friend who knows someone that got sexually abused and it has the victims thinking less of themselves, nicely put. It is much more worse than my words as we saw in the movie. Now going forward, Mima begins to loose touch of reality. The movie begins to cut scenes and transition from dream to reality so much that when you thought it was reality it was a dream and vice versa until you're confused yourself. I think they did this to have the viewer experience what Mima was going through and what people who go through the same things experiences. If this is really the case this movie deserves a higher rating. I do not know the full story but apparently Heath Ledger experienced something like this with his role as the Joker in Batman. He was one of the best if not the best actor to play Joker but he couldn't separate his role as the joker from his own personal life. From what I heard this ultimately lead to his death.
The stalker was super creepy and the fact that her agent tried to kill her at the end and killed others I am assuming was a shocker. I guess she was never on board with Mima's decisions in acting. But to go and kill people around her and someone she was close with. I can't imagine the things Mima was going through.
Can someone please explain the hospital scene and the last scene. I was so confused when it ended like that. Why was she all smiley and happy? Is she good now or what? I would also like to add that there were so many dudes in the audience as a pop singer which kind of concerned me straight from the start. I was on board with her acting if her fan base as a singer is mostly guys. It was a little sus.
Anyway, I actually think I might recommend someone watch this movie but probably only if they bring it up. This actually comes in second for this semester of how intense it was. Behind Barefoot Gen of course.

Self Shipping Obey Me Fan with an active imagination 18+SFW/NSFW Account
I don’t comment a lot so here’s a bit about me/my MC and what to expect.
Allison Outside of Devildom (IRL)
Call me Allison (They/Them), I'm a 28 years old pansexual self shipper and I'm a huge simp for Obey Me. Most, if not all, of my content revolves around it in some way. My major contributions to the fanning community are Audioscapes and fan fiction. I tend to be socially awkward and recently found out that I may be autistic so I apologize In advance if I come off wrong. My main goal is to share my passion and connect with others who are doing the same in a positive safe space.
Important Notes & Boundaries
I'm super into kink and kinky things. I think there's a lot to be learned and discovered through it. With that being said I'm super against kink shaming and will not put up with it. I don't care what your kink is, does it make you happy? Cool. Is it hurting anyone? No? awesome! That's my only two rules. As I like to say; Don't kink same, no shame.
I don't care what your ship is. I'm a believer that there are many reasons and desires to ship. Those reasons can be complicated and can really only be known based on the person's personal view of their ship. For those reasons, I don't care what your favorite ship is and I'm not here to decide the morality of it or judge it.
I do, however, care if you use your ship to justify unjust acts. For example liking Joker and Harley Quinn but trying to say the abuse is healthy (I like these characters btw). I prefer to interact with people who hold the "this shit is totally unhealthy and I'm living for it." View, it's in reality. Hell, even real relationships we want to be in aren't always healthy, it's the reality of relationships. No need to sugar coat it.
About Allison (Obey Me MC-insert)
Allison is a cheerfully hotheaded human exchange student with a heavy background in occult sciences. She was anointed as a witch at the age of 18 and is well versed in Elemental & Charming magic. They try to only use their magic to assist, and they feel guilty about abusing their pacts.
What is the Relationship Dynamic Like?
Allison is in a poly relationship with the 7 Demon brothers, Diavolo and Barbatos. The relationship is open with the boundaries of letting each other know and talking. Allison is Solomon's apprentice, friend and sometimes fuck buddy.
Below are the individual dynamics Allison has with each of the dateables.
Lucifer
Allison's workaholic and perfectionist ways rubs Lucifer in all the right ways though he does sometimes wish they would take a break (how ironic). At times these two are a bit too much alike which causes a lot of friction. Sometimes Allison's stubbornness makes Lucifer wonder which one of them is the avatar of Pride.
Mammon
A bad influence. Mammon brings out the wild side of Allison. They get into the most trouble and have the most trouble. Lucifer has never quite trusted these two together since Allison hid cards under their skirt during the last casino visit.
Leviathan
Two peas in a pod. These two are constantly having video game and cosplay nights. They cook anime themed meals together in the kitchen and Allison plans launch parties for most of Levi's anticipated releases, complete with video game themed menus. It's not uncommon for Levi and Allison to sneak off at events to de-stim. They once were caught playing 1-2 Switch in the bathroom, Diavolo joined.
Satan
Cat lovers, book readers, and hopeless romantics. Allison and Satan are like Romeo and Juliet, if they were both hot headed and kinky. These two can cool each other off or rile each other up. They are perfect at defusing each other's anger, when they aren't both in rage.
Asmodeus
Hyper sexual & outspoken. Allison is a bad influence on Asmodeus. Get these two in a room together and they are playing slap ass in 5 seconds. They play off each other's sex jokes & finish each other's sentences. They hate to argue & love having Asmo-night sleepovers with Solomon. Self care is at the top of both their lists.
Beelzebub
Beel & Allison both see each other's hardships. They take time to comfort each other, and sometimes at night Beel checks Mc's room to make sure they're safe. Beelzebubs laid back attitude and Allison's hot temper pairs well together. When she gets too hot to handle he carries them out over his shoulder. Piece of cake.
Belphegor
How can two individuals be at each other's throat and cuddling? Well, that's Allison & Belphie. These two love to tease each other. They slap each other a little too hard in playful fights and kick each other under the table. Yet they cuddle together, go to one another for nightmares and explore the world of dreams together. They talk about their pasts and bond on feelings of loss.
Diavolo
Coming Soon...
Barbatos
Coming Soon...
Solomon
Allison never expected things between them and Solomon to be anything more than platonic. It was a quiet night and Allison was helping Solomon with his latest magical experiment. Not unusual considering their his apprentice. What was unusual, however, was Allison’s extensive knowledge on occult sciences. It was one of the few times he felt normal again; he was laughing, with a human at that, about the world of magic, How charming. And that’s when it happened, Allison went to grab the final ingredient to pour into the mix and Solomon, placing his hand against Allison’s face, guided them into a kiss they didn’t resist.

Dice Doodles workshop Mar 2023
Generative doodles from The Rising Sun Art Centre, 25-Mar-23
Theme: forests
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello lovely doodling friends,
Below are the activities from our latest Dice Doodles workshop. The materials you will need to repeat them are at least one pen and some paper, a dice set/dice roller site like this one, and a deck of cards or use a card shuffler like this one at random.org.
Our next 3 workshops will be held online via Zoom and here are links to get April, May, and June tickets. Then we're back at the Rising Sun Art Centre in July
Warm-up doodle – log pile
Fill a blank page with fairly rough circles of varying size.
Doodle concentric circles inside each one to make it look like tree rings in a cross-section of a log. Add a bark pattern around the edge if you like.
Tumblr media
~
Intro dice doodle – D6 leaf trail (1 x D6 plus 1 of any other die)
In this game we’re going to roll dice, draw leaf shape(s) on a winding path, roll, and draw again. Imagine it like going for a walk in an autumn wood and looking at fallen leaves. This method means you never know what you’ll draw next, and you can keep going until you run out of space.
Fill a blank page with a long winding squiggly line. Make sure the turns in this path have enough space between them to draw leaves on the line.
Roll a six-sided die (D6) to choose which kind of leaf you’ll find on your path & draw first: 1 = beech, 2 = oak, 3 = birch, 4 = holly, 5 = willow, 6 = lime
Continue rolling and drawing leaves for a few turns to get used to the shapes. Then start rolling a second die along with the first. Use the result from the second die to decide how many of the leaves you’ll draw each turn. E.g. if you roll 5 and 2, draw two willow leaves
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
~
Pre decision game - Imaginary tree species (odd/even, any die)
For this game we’re going to decide all the features of what we draw by rolling dice multiple times before we start drawing. This gives you some time to consider what you want your imaginary tree species to look like before starting to draw.
First, we need to decide if we’re drawing a deciduous tree with broad leaves or an evergreen tree with thin, pointy leaves. Roll any die or flip a coin:
If it’s odd/heads, the tree has big broad leaves that are shed in autumn. Think about what sort of shape you’d like them to be
If it’s even, our tree has pointy leaves that are there year-round. Think about what kind of spiny leaves you’d like to see on a winter walk
Is our tree a wide tree with branches that spread out far away from the trunk, or a tall, narrow tree? Roll a die/flip a coin:
If it’s odd/heads, the tree is wider than it is tall.
If it’s even/tails, our tree is taller than it is wide.
Does our tree have a twisty, gnarled trunk and branches like an older tree growing on a mountainside, or are they straight like a tree growing on flat open ground?
If it’s odd, our tree is gnarly and twisted
If it’s even, the tree has straight branches and trunk
How does our tree package its seeds? Does it have little berries, big soft fruit, or cones?
If our tree is an evergreen
it’s odd, our tree has chonky cones – they can be any shape you like.
If it’s even, the tree has little colourful berries
If our tree is deciduous
it’s odd, our tree has big tasty summer fruit – they can be any shape you like
If it’s even, the tree has small berries in clumps – again, any shape and colour
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Consider how you’d like your tree to look and what shapes and colours you’ll use. Remember this is your imaginary tree species so however it looks, it’s a great tree! Name your species if you like.
Above are some existing tree shapes you can use if you need ideas – we’ll also use them in the next game.
~
Tumblr media
Playing card game – Hillside forest (poker deck with jokers/gaff cards)
In this game, we’re going to start off taking single cards from a shuffled deck and use the face value and suit of the card to choose what we draw. We’ll draw tree silhouettes on a hill or mountainside based on each card, starting from the lowest point.
Draw a wavy line horizontally across a page, starting about a third of the way up, to make the outline of a hill or mountainside. Think of it as if you’re viewing a landscape in the distance e.g. from a train or car window. Make one side higher than the other.
Take one card each turn. To decide tree shape and number
If the face value is an odd number, draw that many deciduous tree silhouettes on your hillside, and if it’s an even number, draw that many evergreen tree shapes
If it’s from a black suit draw your trees dotted around the hillside
If it’s from a red suit, draw your trees clumped together.
If it’s a court card (J/Q/K) draw one BIG tree
If it’s a black suit card draw a CHONKY deciduous tree
If it’s red, draw a GIANT evergreen.
If it’s a Joker or a gaff (trick) card, draw a tree stump like a tree has been cut down
You can make this game more complicated by drawing several hill lines receding into the distance and using a die to pick which hill you draw on.
Draw 3 wavy hill lines above the first, as if you’re viewing hills receding into the distance
You can either draw an extra card and use the 4 suits from that to decide on which hill, or roll a D4 once for every card you draw. Use the result to choose which hill your draw your card-decided trees on. Your original hill side corresponds to 1, and the new hillsides are 2, 3, and 4 as they get farther away
You can embellish your hillside scene with any other landscape features you like to finish up – buildings, rivers, caves, any feature you’d like to see
Tumblr media
~
Warm-down doodle – Cactus line up (1 x D6)
In some places cacti form forest-like groups in the landscape. To wind down we’re going to draw cacti in rows from one side of a page to the other.
Have your page in a landscape orientation and start at a bottom corner
Roll a D6 and use the outcome to decide how many branches/lobes the first cactus has. Use the shapes below if you need ideas for choosing what shape of cactus to draw
Continue rolling and drawing cacti across your page. If you run out of space, start a new row of cacti on your page above the first if you have room, or just grab some more paper and start a new page
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you wanted to make this into a more complicated doodle to use another time, you could draw cacti all over the page like a forest. Add extra dice to choose how many of each cactus you draw, and/or whether to draw them in clumps or dotted around a page. You could even draw a 6x6 cell grid on your page and use 2 D6s to decide which cell to draw in, making a map of your cactus forest.

Tumblr media
Alrighty clownies, lets have a discussion! We are going to talk about my blog a little bit just in case there is any confusion in terms of interactions with my portrayal. Please take a moment to read.
Tumblr media
First and foremost, I do have a carrd that’s got my rules, about and a link to my arcs are located at the bottom of his about page. I also have the links to my arcs on my pinned post on my profile for your convenience.  To be blunt, I can tell if you haven’t read my rules, arcs and my about pages. Although I am very tied to a canon portrayal, I do have important information noted in all three places that explain to you how my Arthur functions whether it’s during the Joker 2019 timeline or after.
I have also just linked them on this post right here on the first paragraph and I highly suggest you go give them a read if you haven’t already as I will not hesitate to drop threads the second I’m made aware you have not acknowledged any key points to my portrayal. It’s rude and disrespectful: I take the time to read yours, the least you can do is read mine.  After the movies timeline is currently and will remain entirely headcanon based. I am aware that they are making a second ( what i dare call ) movie ( musical...wtf ) : though there is not a single thing I like about the sounds of the future production thus for my blog will have absolutely nothing to do with it. That’s for a tangent another day: the important thing is that you read the information I provide to you so that you know what my portrayal is all about.
Tumblr media
Important Notes ( straight from my rules & about page ) : — I will not water down or filter Arthur Fleck as I don’t want to take away from his canon character.
—  Do not try to change Arthur’s canon. The events of the movie are crucial for his character development and unless heavily plotted otherwise ( and I mean HEAVILY plotted ) .
— Do not expect me to or try to sway me to write Arthur as any other variation of Joker. He is Arthur Fleck. If you have any question on what he may or may not do, please ask me. Never assume!
— There will never be a time when I would ever write rape, sexual assault, dubcon, incest, racism or pedophilia on this blog. If you write these things, see yourself to the door.
—  Arthur will never be abusive.
—  Arthur's personality will never be watered down, filtered or altered for a ship. He continue to still have suicidal tendencies, thoughts and actions. Being in a relationship will not magically cure Arthur of his mental illnesses.
Tumblr media
I would like to elaborate a bit about my portrayal of Joker. While there are many variations of Joker: I write Arthur Fleck and Arthur Fleck only.  He is no where near like the other Jokers. He is mentally ill, but everything he does is with a great purpose. He doesn’t kill ‘for funsies’.
There are no mass murders, massive explosions, bank heists or any of that off the wall stuff. He does not have ‘goons’ : he does have followers that he may rarely use to his advantage but he prefers to work solo.  There is also no vats of acid: we literally saw the build up to him becoming Joker in the movie. There will also never be any of that clique abusive Harley & Joker content on this blog either: he treats ALL of his partners with respect and dignity. His kill count by the time he is put into Arkham Asylum at the end of the movie is 6 people. His victims are the three wallstreet guys, his mother Penny Fleck, Murray Franklin and the first therapist he’s assigned in Arkham Asylum. I headcanon in his Asylum arc that during his first escape from Arkham asylum, he killed people to get out of the  Asylum. Though I did not specify the amount in the arc, I’d say it was most likely anywhere between 8-10 maximum. The only reason this happened is one: to ensure his freedom and two: he is heavily influenced by Jonathan Crane’s fear toxins. He is not in his regular mind. After his escape, he does continue to kill those who betray, hurt or slander him. In his P U N C H L I N E ! arc, he does kill the owner of a night club ( a truly horrible man : it’s all written out in plain text in the arc  ) and takes over the club.  He doesn’t murder people he deems innocent or people who have generally have nothing to do with him in any capacity nor does he go around popping heads on the streets just because he’s got a gun in his hand. This isn’t grand theft auto. At this point, we can lose track of his kill count but please do not assume that he’s just going around blasting everything that moves like he’s playing call of duty. That is just not how my Arthur works.
I’d much appreciate it if you need clarification: please, come and ask me if you’re unsure because the quickest way to peeve me is by assuming things that Arthur would simply never do.

My Top 5 Worst Movies of 2022
Tumblr media
What's going on everyone, it's Dan here and today I'll be going over my Top 5 worst movies of 2022. I didn't want to go with easy one's like secrets of Dumbledore or Jurassic world: Dominion, I wanted to dig deeper and find movies that slipped under the radar or people haven't heard much about and review those.
I've said it twice and I'll say it again, these are my opinions and all of this is subjective. You may agree or disagree with me and that's fine. With that said, lets begin
Tumblr media
Number 5 is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever from Marvel/Disney (6/10)
Right off the bat, I'm making a lot of enemies with putting this movie at number 5. Now keep in mind, this movie had to be rewritten due to the passing of Chadwick Boseman so what we got wasn't the original vision but rather salvaging what they could. I already gave my complicated feelings on a review for it last month and while I gave it a 6/10, I personally did not like this movie. It's okay for what we ended up getting, but I still felt they could have pushed this back and taken more time with it rather than salvaging what they could to make a movie. The first half almost put me to sleep and the second half is where it started picking up the slack. The end credit scene was nice but unlike the old post credit scenes from previous Marvel movies before Endgame, it won't lead to the next film but rather give us a hint at what's to come. Who knows when that plan or if it will ever happen. Overall, I'm glad they gave homage to the late Chadwick Boseman, but as a movie itself, its nothing too special. Shuri is a great Black Panther and I loved her personal journey, but other than that the movie is just lackluster.
Tumblr media
Number 4 goes to Lightyear from Pixar/Disney (5.5/10)
Now this was a movie that had plenty of potential to be a great movie based on a beloved character from Toy Story, but it was a mess to infinity and beyond anything I could have imagined. The tone is off, its different from the happy go star commander were all use to seeing. Here it's a more serious and dark tone where Buzz normally gives off this upbeat and somewhat campy space ranger tone like with Duck Dodgers or the Jetsons or even Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, I was hoping that's what this movie would be like. The tone just doesn't fit, in fact this doesn't seem like a Buzz Lightyear movie. It feels more like a generic space commander movie with Buzz slapped on it for marketing. I also wanna address the "controversial" same sex kiss scene...it was a literal peck, not like they full on frenched each other so I don't see how that could have ruined the movie. The movie suffered due to its time travel plot being ridiculous and its tone being more serious than it should have. Feels like this was meant to be a sci-fi horror film rather than a Disney film with a Toy Story character. I admire that they're trying something new, but this is not the way to go about it. Plus the twist with Zurg? Like why? As I said, this movie had potential, but it was just not steered in the proper direction and it suffered for not staying faithful to the character of Buzz Lightyear.
Tumblr media
Number 3 will be going to THE....MOVIE OF ALL TIME! Morbius from Marvel/Sony (5/10)
It's Morbin' Time! I know I complained about Lightyears plot but at least that had a plot. The plot for this movie was near nonexistent! This movie is something else, Jared Leto once again showing that superhero movies are not his best attribute less we remember his....memorable role as the Joker from Suicide Squad (2016) and the Snyder Cut of Justice League (he did way better there than in Suicide Squad). I already gave my thoughts on the movie back in April and while I did give it a 5/10 initially, I feel that the score needs to be brought down to like a 4 or a 3.5 because this movie is just a complete MEME! So much so that Sony saw the meme attention it was getting and had the Megamind idea to rerelease the film again thinking it would do better this time around....but it actually flopped AGAIN! This is the first film to have a box office flop twice! That is an accomplishment in it of itself! While I don't think its a great superhero movie, it's definitely a so bad its good superhero movie, to me this is more of a guilty pleasure movie that you just watch to have a good laugh with some mindless action thrown in. This definitely holds a special place in my catalog of memorable movies and superhero movies, This is a rare distinction on this list so Morbius I tip my hat to you for being everyones....movie of all time!
Tumblr media
Number 2 goes to the direct to streaming Halloween movie Hocus Pocus 2 from Disney/Disney Plus (3/10)
Now this is one of those movies I felt did not need to happen, but since it's Halloween it's time to see what beloved Halloween classics need to be given a sequel for next generation. A sequel that adds nothing but just trying to be hip and with it. I tried to avoid watching this movie but I just couldn't get away from it. My sisters house, My job, even my own house I was doomed to watch and finish this movie. I watched it on several occasions to finish and it was worse than I thought. First off, the original Hocus Pocus was dark, there is no denying that these witches were unapologetically evil draining the youth from children (killing them in the process), turning kids into cats, bringing back the dead and trying to kill more children. The opening even shows them witches being hung, they even showed that in this sequel. Speaking of the sequel, it's just generic Halloween kids movie with the Hocus Pocus named slapped on. This movie tries to give us backstory on the Sanderson sisters which I'll admit is nice but it also tries to make them more sympathetic and seem like they're the real victims. I understand they grew up in Salem during a time when Women had no say in anything and witch hunts happened on the daily, but it doesn't work when we've established that they're ruthless in the original. But here, they act like grandma's where technology is foreign to them and they've become sillier rather than major threats and how in the end, they rest in peace thanks to the power of friendship. It doesn't make any sense, especially when they were destroyed in the previous film, they get brought back again from a candle almost thirty years later? It doesn't make sense and it just seems lazy. I don't think they needed to be made sympathetic, they should have been just as ruthless and threatening as they were in the original movie. I enjoy villain's who are unapologetically evil just as much as I enjoy the one's you can sympathize with. They should have been kept Unapologetically evil from the start. Also the main heroes (if you can call them that even though they brought back the Sanderson sisters to begin with) are generic as can be, I don't remember any of their names. The only part I enjoyed from this movie was when Mary Sanderson used Roombas as broom sticks to fly, that actually got a laugh out of me and that Hannah Waddingham makes a hot witch lady ngl. Other than that, this movie had no reason to exist. It was nice seeing the OG actresses reprise their roles, but this was still shameless nostalgic bait to gain more subscribers for Disney Plus.
After all I said, I'm sure you're asking yourself "what could possibly be worse than Hocus Pocus 2?! I thought for sure this would be the worst movie!" but you be wrong my friends, the worst movie of 2022 is....
Tumblr media
Number 1 goes to The Munsters (2022) from Rob Zombie (1/10)
With everything I've said about these films, I can at least watch them in their entirety even If I gotta do it in short bursts, but this film was so bad I had to stop it halfway through and leave my own room just to reflect on the decisions I've made leading up to that. I was not able to finish this movie and I don't plan to finish watching this abomination. This movie has been distributed to DVD, Amazon Prime and Netflix (which is where I watched it). My god, I respect Rob Zombies work not only in film but his music as well I actually enjoy his music especially Dragula, that's a personal favorite of mine. I've enjoyed his other films like the Zombie Horror Picture Show, 3 from Hell and Lords of Salem, but something went wrong here. I also want to point out I am a fan of The Munsters, I watched the classic tv show as a kid and even now I still enjoy that along with other 60's classics such as The Addams Family and the 1960's Batman TV show. But this film is far from its source material. It get's almost nothing right except the bare minimum. It doesn't feel like The Munsters it feels like a parody of The Munsters if that. It's just impressions and costumes mixed with cheesy rock and roll elements slapped on it. The jokes and Puns feel so forced and the setting is just horror meets old time rock and roll. I guess it's an origin story on how Herman and Lily met but their characters in the film don't match up who they are, it doesn't seem like The Munsters at all. It's set to be in the 1400's but treats it like the 1970's or 1980's and it doesn't really seem funny at all it just looks bizarre. I have no idea what they were thinking taking this 1960's classic and turning it into this cheesy origin love story. The origin story could possibly work, but I think Rob Zombie was the worst choice to do it considering his main works. When I first heard The Munsters were getting a movie this year and that it would be done up by Rob Zombie, I was excited. Unfortunately, the movie did not deliver on anything. It was clever, it wasn't funny and I don't even think cringe is the best way to describe this, it's just unbearable and I will never go back to finishing that film unless I was obligated to or if I get lucky with a lady if I watch it, that's it. It's a shame this happened to a beloved property I grew up watching, this makes The Munster's movies from the 90's look better by comparison and that's why I believe The Munsters (2022) is the worst movie of 2022.
Let's see how many enemies I make today, I'll post my Top 5 best movies tomorrow and should wrap up the year for me.
See ya!

Story Universes
The first thing I’ll say about all this is that I do not have any of these stories actually written down and posted anywhere, so don’t ask me where you can read them. ;P They used to be all based in the roleplays I used to participate in with my former best friend, but since we’re not associating anymore and I have no drive to try opening myself to RPing with anyone else again, all this is just from my own personal daydreaming and whatnot.
While I’ve been tempted now and again to get some of these stories written out, I just don’t have the drive to deal with the writing process.
Anyway, this is a quick little list of the universes the characters most of my dolls represent exist in.
Ghosts & Things
It’s Yu Yu Hakusho meshed with Mob Psycho 100 primarily. Some references to characters from Bleach as well. Basically, if it’s an anime that deals in supernatural elements, it’s probably gonna be referenced in this universe…but it’s mostly YYH and MP100 because they’re the best ones.
Half the story revolves around my character Riyo as she exists in the YYH storyline, and then goes onward to hers and the boys’ lives as adults and parents into the MP100 storyline (which then centers more around Sachi; Riyo and Hiei’s daughter).
Bright Idea
This universe is basically a big amalgamation of a variety of series (primarily anime/manga) into one universe and the story is generally centered around my own characters (Naoko, Jin-ho, Nori, Amaya, etc). It’s generally pretty much a slice-of-life type of storyline with a lot of interpersonal relationship drama and whatnot. It primarily kicks off from when Naoko and Jin-ho are high schoolers and follows them through the creation of their band and on into their musical careers in their 20s and 30s.
Series involved in this universe include (but hardly limited to): Gravitation, NANA, My Hero Academia, Fruits Basket, BNA, DNAngel, Final Fantasy XV.
Tokyo Ghoul
I basically just follow along with the plot of the manga series, but with the addition of my own characters (Leyla, Capria, and Michelle) and the later part of the story changes up a bit with their presence.
Mass Effect
It’s just the original trilogy, but what if Shepard could smooch Joker. xD
Devil May Cry
Another “it’s just the games, but…”, and in this case it’s what if we knew who Nero’s mom was and it was my character Qianna?
(For future reference and in case I forget to update this later on, this description was written when we’d only gotten up to the 5th game out so we don’t officially know who Vergil fucked bahaha.)
Mononoke
Medicine Seller’s hijinks in the modern world, which includes running into my girl Amelia from time to time and seeing how their friendship progresses.
Arcane
The Netflix series, but Amelia gets to smooch Silco and then later on Viktor and she would die for Jinx because she’s chosen family.
The Witcher
What if Jaskier and Geralt had to put up with a second higher vampire in their adventures?
Final Fantasy VII
There’s yet another chick that thirsts after Cloud, but she thicc.
Cyberpunk 2077
Set in the story of the video game featuring my V (Vesper Sosa). Sometimes it keeps to the canon, but sometimes my imaginings include keeping Jackie Welles around.
Trigun
Set in either the manga version of the Trigun series, or the Trigun Stampede anime depending on my mood bahaha. Includes my CP2077 character Vesper (same design, but different character from CP2077) as a mercenary that ran with Knives until ideologies clashed and she crosses paths with Vash and crew now and again.
In this universe, Vesper is one of the first attempts at a plant-human hybrid (basically a prototype to Elendria), though in her case she wasn’t created and was human to begin with. In her case, she doesn’t have creation-esque abilities like Knives and Elendria, but her lifespan is much longer than the average human. Her reflexes and senses are also quicker/more powerful than they were originally (particularly her sight). She isn’t able to directly communicate with Plants, but she does have a sense for how they’re feeling in the moment. Her cybernetics are from back when she was still on Earth (needed her vocal chords rebuilt as well as her hands due to an accident).
