AITA for not wanting to wear matching Halloween costumes with my younger sister?

So my little sister (5f) is OBSESSED with the tv show Miraculous Ladybug and wants to dress up as Ladybug for Halloween. The issue is she also wants someone to dress up as Cat Noir (Ladybug and Cat Noir are a superhero duo and love interests for each other for those unfamiliar with the show). My sister always makes someone pretend to be Cat Noir when she plays pretend and I usually go along with her shenanigans. My mom suggested that I dress up with her as Cat Noir, an offer I turned down. Not because I don’t want to dress up at all or anything like that. I really love dressing up for Halloween and it super important to me to make the most of it!

Part of this comes from when I was younger and didn’t get much (if any) choice in my costume so I desperately try to make up for it when I’m older. For context here is a list of costumes I was made to wear and still bother me; any other years were my choice of 2 Costco on sale costumes that my mom and grandma liked best (never included my first choice and alway looker weird because my parents made me cram them over a thick set of pajamas to stay warm, sometimes with a coat of top)

3rd grade: matching with my toddler (at the time) sister, hella glittery and extra Rainbow Dash dresses, including bright blue face paint that stained my face 4/10 made the nursing home we trick or treated in super happy (fond memory) but made me super embarrassed at school

6th grade: neon pink one piece pajamas that had a neon purple tail and a raccoon face on the hood. 1/10 Got me made fun of, i literally didnt have any choice my mom brought them home from the clearance section at target and made me wear it, i got called a furry and my middle school banned hoods so it was practically useless, was too hot to be comfortable.

I had begged to dress up as a Hamilton character and have my 2 little sisters match (one also loved Hamilton and the other was an infant) i even found costumes online and stuff but my parents rejected it because they dislike the fact Hamilton had hip-hop music and were annoyed at my obsession (understandably annoyed but still hurtful)

7th grade: my moms old cat pajamas, a clip on tail that was all bent out of shape, and a uncomfortable cat headband, all covered in cheetah print and pink sequins on the seams 6/10 still got made fun of, got forced to take off the tail at school because it didn’t fit in the chair properly

In 8th grade I compiled a collection of things to dress up as a newsies, all from my grandma’s closet or my own. 8.5/10 I loved it at the time, looked bad because i did my own makeup to look dirty and like i had been beaten up.

In 9th and 10th grade i wore the same elf costume that i begged for 6 months for to match my friends, 10/10 it was pretty and I love it, wasn’t too stoked to have to wear it twice tho bc my favorite part (the corset) didn’t fit last year.

This year i want to choose something different and new, and something I wont be made fun of for and feel confident in. I’m 16, almost 17 and have bad self esteem issues. Halloween is like my favorite holiday because i love being all dressed up and being like a character i enjoy. I usually pay for part of my costume and do my own hair and makeup.

BUT my mom is dead set on the idea that I match my little sister because “i’m getting too old and should just be nice instead of being selfish” or “had plenty of years to have fun, that i should make her Halloween memorable”. When my dad or other sister (11f who also like the show, not to the same degree but does enjoy it) hell even SHE could do it with her but she insists that I should.

AITA for not wanting to? For potential messing up my little sister’s Halloween?

This one just started down a bad rote, with the host getting Michael's name wrong, calling him Martin😂🤭( not his fault tho, he was clearly reading from Autocue and I don't think M&D noticed or they just played it off nicely)

However, Here are the things I LOVED in it:

1) Michael's answer and how he basically flipped off the interviewer for calling David's costume ridiculous. Both, particularly David, got very offended (and rightfully so it was rude and tactless to insult a beloved character like that.) I adored how MS tried to stay calm, seeing how annoyed David was and came up with this" it was really enjoyable for me cause I get to just look at him looking ridiculous, I use your word, whereas poor David just gets to look at this( gesturing to himself) pretty much the whole time." DT: " It was only a pleasure." self-deprecation combined with sweet praise for David is just ughhh🥺❤️

2_ Again David hits the nail on the head with " we looked pretty sensational in that (1800s costume)" and Michael praising him AGAIN with " you looked very dapper" for good measure.

3_ " And I do like a mutton chop," said Michael, cause the host kinda mocked it with his question. He was having none of it that day 😂

4_ MS: "the set ( graveyard in Edinburgh) was so beautiful that we looked like a Christmas card. I remember taking pictures and thinking that'll be OUR Christmas card." this picture is out there and I NEED IT😭

5_ Was MS serious when he said "My parents were in that scene as well and they got cut"?

He did have that "I'm joking" face on tho, it's unlikely but we didn't have any confirmation from Neil, right?

That first one reminds me of Michael taking all the BAFTAs jokes aimed at David, on himself instead - during the sketch. Not getting the award, not making it in Hollywood. He really is such a husband who doesn’t let anyone talk any shite about David, my gosh 😭❤️ I am glad David has a person like this in his life.

Second one… of course Michael never stops himself from complimenting David…

Third one no he really had none of it 😂

WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEIR CHRISTMAS CARD. MICHAEL SHEEN!!!!!!! They’re so freaking married my goshhhhhhhhhhhh.

Hmmm considering it wasn’t said anywhere again about Michael’s parents… but maybe… hmmm.

Aw I want that Christmas card now. You know how we suddenly got the selfies David did, imagine how much there is on their phones that we never get to see…

went to watch La Mort de Danton by Büchner (dir. Simon Delétang) and here's my robespierre fancam- I really liked the actor for Robespierre, beyond the costuming, his acting really marked Robespierre out as a twink different character than others.

The casting for the rest of the characters are uh a bit more questionable tho.....

The guy sitting there is Saint-Just but he straight up gives off Javert vibes lol

The second guy from the right is Desmoulins. His performance is pretty nice. The first guy on the left is Danton (i feel like maybe they should've switched SJ and Danton....).

It's a little embarrassing because my french is not really good so I literally haven't figured out who the rest of the people are-

Anyways the set design is really stunning and especially the lighting felt so natural. The dialogue part were a bit long to sit through, tho partially because I can't understand everything.

The realisation that you are indeed sick hit you in the middle of the night. You couldn’t sleep for hours because of the awful headache and runny nose. Your throat felt like it was burning.

“I hate you Seungcheol” you said even tho he wasn’t even in your bed. Not even in your flat. He was probably asleep as a baby at his place so exhausted because of many promotions for the new album.

That’s why you still haven’t called him to complain. You knew that theoretically you consented to your make out session last week so it was as much your fault as his.

Still, right now you hated your boyfriend.

Another wave of pain went through your head. You moaned quietly and tried to get up to get some more meds from kitchen cupboard but quickly sat back. Everything was spinning around you.

“Great, thanks to his libido now both of us won’t get any sleep”

You had to call him. No family lived in Soul and your friends had work the next day or were on the night shifts.

“Yes?” his low voice in your ear made you angry and melted at the same time.

“I need you”you managed to say before plopping onto your cushions.

“Babe, you know I’m always ready and all of that but it’s” he must’ve looked at the clock because he stopped for a moment” middle of the night and tomorrow you have work.”

“Now you worry about my employment?”

“Huh?” he was so surprised by your sarcastic comment that it was the only answer he came up with. Also he was half-asleep.

“I DON’T WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH YOU RIGHT NOW. YOU JUST GAVE ME YOUR AWFUL ILLNESS AND NOW I CAN NOT STAND FROM MY BED!”

He had to move phone away from his ear to not go deaf.

„You sure it’s my virus? Your throat seems just fine” he joked

„Choi Seuncheol i swear to god…”

„See you in ten”

He hung up too quickly to hear a couple of not very nice words said towards him and the size of his friend.

You had to give your boyfriend that he always kept his promises. After ten minutes you heard door unlocking and after some shuffling in the kitchen he opened door to your bedroom.

Usually you would note to yourself how pretty he looked, hair put back in a small bun(his company made him grow them out and you loved it) dressed in comfy set of black pyjamas. So ready for the night filled with hugs and sweet words whispered to your ear.

But at the moment you only wanted to kill him.

“Look what you did” you whined and covered your face with blanket.

“Damn I have a really special influence on girls then” he joked again trying to cheer you up.

You smirked under your cover but quickly stopped to pout when he uncovered you to give you hot chocolate and meds.

“All of them” he said like it wasn’t pretty obvious

For a moment you wondered if pouting a little bit would be a good revenge for the last week but your head felt like it was gonna blow out so you took them without saying a word. He also made very good hot chocolate.

“Good girl” he commented and gave you a quick kiss smearing the leftover of your beverage on his lips. You smiled at him and gently removed it with your thumb.

“Cheol you forgot something”

He quickly stopped undressing himself to plop yourself next to you and looked at you scared.

“What? You need another blanket or this cough syrup that went bad the previous year but you still keep it in your cupboard?”

“No, I was promised a sexy nurse outfit” you giggled and he sighed sitting next to you and tucking you in.

“Tomorrow I will be whatever you want but right now I really need my beauty sleep”

“Any more beauty should be illegal” you commented and he smirked at you.

Being sick wasn’t so bad when he was next to you, in nurse costume or not.

Soooooo, Sono Bisque Chapter 102. Some thoughts.

We get to see a very interesting new side of Marin. Apparently she turns into a very irritable person around her dad, which I find hilarious considering how she's always so hyper and the mood maker in every social setting.

We also see her handle the situation with Gojo in a highly uncharacteristic way.

Early on in the manga we have the situation of Gojo actively avoiding Marin. Her immediate reaction is to seek him out asap and confront him about his behaviour. But this time her approach is to just... ignore it??

She is very clearly heavily influenced by the fact that she has realised her feelings for Gojo and is avoiding upsetting or pushing him away from her.

My prediction with this is, that for a few more chapters they'll be tiptoeing around the issue and at the end it culminates in a tearful confrontation with the climax being Marin's confession. I know I know very cliche, but I honestly it's fitting.

Additional thoughts for Marins dad:

What a cutie. He's supportive, he likes Gojo, he personally goes to apologize/thank the Gojos for taking care of his daughter. Something I find quite strange tho is him not knowing shit about what his daughter does the entire time. It's not like there is another parental figure in the picture that's with her, so how on earth does he not know what she has been cooking and that Gojo is making her costumes. Because Marin doesn't seem like the type to hide Gojo from her dad.

But then again I guess it does fit into the japanese family dynamic.

Lastly, my sweet summerchild

My poor boy really really doesn't think he's worthy of Marin, huh?

It is so apparent he views Marin as an entity so far out of his league that he doesn't even consider any romantic connection between them. I am so hyped for the author to explain what is going on with him specifically as him feeling inferior is my best guess at the moment, but I am sure it's not all.

I am kind of looking forward to a father-daughter-talk next chapter along the lines of 'so is he your boyfriend or just real fucking dense??'

Well, let's see how long we have to wait for the hiatus to be over. This was a nice little chapter tho 🥹

summary ;; a date in october with your new boyfriend tomura shigaraki

warnings - swearing & slight implications of sex at the beginning ;; 2.9k words !!

wrote this last year in october but i just got to see my man in the latest episode and thought why not share it here ! my writing style is so different from this now tho lmao

you woke up to the sound of a headboard hitting your wall. your neighbor had just gotten a new girlfriend and they obviously couldn't keep their hands off each other. you and your other neighbors had complained about the noise every so often because they did it at the most unconventional times but it never stopped, even though they promised to keep it down.

sucking your teeth you grabbed your phone off your nightstand. 10:14 am, October 23rd.

you loved fall, it was the season of crunchy leaves and slutty Halloween costumes. but also the season of scary movies and pumpkin-flavored everything. the cool air brought you a sort of inner peace that no other season could achieve.

you skimmed through your notifications and smiled at the one from your new boyfriend. though the relationship had just started you couldn't help but feel an intense pull to him. it also didn't help that he was just type. well, not entirely but he fit into a couple of stereotypes that you enjoyed.

sliding your hands down your face you got out of bed and head toward the bathroom. your apartment wasn't that big but it was big enough for you and the very occasional guest.

2 bed, 2 bath, living room with a lovely view of...the building across and a decent sized kitchen. it was close to all the places you needed and not too far from family. your friends lived walking distances away so that wasn't really a problem. well, it was a problem when the weather was being nasty but otherwise not a problem.

You did your morning routine and started your breakfast. you had opened the living room window the night before so there was a nice breeze coming in. staring as the coffee pot did its job you munched on some toast and thought about mindless things.

the thumping from next door had stopped by the time you finished breakfast and you were grateful because you were just about to get ready for your day.

tomura said he had planned a lovely day for the two of you and you were quite excited. it wasn't rare that he planned things for the both of you but you still enjoyed the suspense of what he had planned. it was always something different and you loved the playful glint in his eyes when he denied you the information of your destination.

turning on your speaker you shuffled through your playlist looking for something to get dressed to. you were in the mood for some Steve Lacy. typing the song name into the search bar you picked the song and set your phone down, swaying to the beat as you picked out an outfit.

you got dressed, fixed your hair, and made sure you had everything before walking out and locking the door. tomura had asked you to meet at the park by your house, which was about a 5-minute walk but you didn't mind.

the cool air in your lungs and the sound of your shoes hitting the concrete made you smile. a singular earpiece in you continued to listen to the r&b playlist [preferred music app] created for you.

getting to the gates that welcomed you into the park you searched for your man, only to see him sitting at a park bench; hands in his pockets staring up into the trees. no doubt admiring the browning leaves. he looked so peaceful, so beautiful. you would fight yourself if you didn't capture the moment. moving as discreetly as you could you took a picture of him and quickly made it your lock screen, it was something you were sure to cherish for as long as possible.

you noticed how long you must have been standing there staring at him when an older woman came and asked you if everything was all right. you sheepishly assured her that you weren't planning anything sinister and head over to sit next to him. plopping down and placing your hand on his thigh he glances at you before smiling and returning to looking at the leaves.

"good morning," he whispered, he still sounded tired and you couldn't help but chuckle.

"good morning! shall we get going or is this the plan for today?" you said, pushing him with your shoulder.

"no, no. we have plans I was just enjoying the scenery."

"I can tell."

taking a deep breath he got up and turned to you, offering a hand. you smiled and took it, letting him pull you up. intertwining your finger you and tomura set off for what you assumed to be your first destination.

the two of you walked hand in hand down the sidewalk, ignoring the rude faces and mumbles of passersby for 'taking up so much space'.

you had been to this side of town only rarely so you couldn't do your usual guessing as you made your way. you could tell you were getting closer though by how tomura excitedly swung your hands. he was an intimidating-looking man but he was adorable regardless.

he stopped you in front of a store with a half-burnt out neon sign at the front. you could see from the outside multicolored lights flashing and a fading colorful carpet. the sound of laughter and competitive teasing made you smile as you stepped in.

as much as shigaraki played the newest things he always talked about his love for older games. it reminded him of the good in his childhood. it brought him peace, kind of like fall for you but of course with deeper meaning.

"you know, im surprised you never brought me here before," you admitted while walking to the change machine.

" I've always wanted to take you, it just...never happened I guess." he chuckled airily.

tomura handed you your cup of coins and pulled you in the direction of your first game. the further back you went the older the games got. it was almost like a time capsule, seeing all these games. it reminded you of when you went to the arcade as a kid, racing around the store and yelling about who won with your friends. it brought back so many memories you almost didn't know what to do with yourself.

"...but yeah I think this would have to be my all-time favorite game!" shigaraki beamed showing off the slightly dusty game. yeah, you were totally lost but played it off like a pro.

"great choice! I didn't play it much as a kid but I think I'll be able to give you a run for your money." you pulled up your sleeves and chuckled at the excited smirk on your boyfriend's face.

you both played for a while, laughing and shoving each other like children without a care in the world. when you finally accepted your obvious defeat you quickly searched for another game that you knew you could beat him at.

when your eyes landed on the large structure with flashing lights and tacky music streaming out of it your face morphed into a wicked grin the could put the grinch to shame. pulling a confused and slightly worried man behind you, you marched over to the 'Dance Dance Revolution' machine.

nodding for the kids on it to scarm you hopped on and picked the hardest song you knew you could still win at. you could tell by the small smile on tomura's face that he already admitted defeat and you couldn't help but snicker.

just by looking at him, you could tell that he had little to no coordination and couldn't dance to save his life so you already had this in the bag. moving from arrow to arrow you won with a giggle and kissed him on the cheek to ease the pain of utter loss.

(I'm so dramatic lmfao)

you both went around playing games, smiling and laughing not paying attention to anything but each other and how much you enjoyed the company. you noticed tomura check his phone and audibly gasp.

"shit! we're gonna be late, c'mon!" he grabbed your hand and pulled you out of the arcade.

"but we didn't get to cash in our tickets!" you whined, still trailing behind him nonetheless.

you followed him down the road, hands in your pockets as you talked casually. you tried asking where you were off to in such a rush but of course, he evaded the question skillfully and led you somewhere mysterious as always. you finally had enough of the secrecy though when you got on the subway. you loved the fact that he was always surprising you but if where ever he was taking you was so far that you needed to take the subway you needed at least a vague idea of where the fuck he was taking you.

the possibility of him being a murderer and this just being his method was not high but still not zero.

"fine, fine," tomura sighed, grabbing hold of the railing "we're going to one of those haunted houses but the actually scary ones. like the ones you have to be 15 and older to enter." you raised a brow.

"whattttttt!" his whining made you giggle "I thought it would be fun! bonding and whatnot."

"going to a haunted house so scary that they have to put an age limit? totally sounds like a blast!" shigaraki rolled his eyes at your sarcastic remark and you just leaned into him, making him shake his head in amusement.

once you finally got to the building it was taking place in a woman in about 8 inches heals greeted you at the door.

"yo, welcome to the Mad Mansion. you sign your waivers over by the bloody fountain and get your flashlights over by the headless guy with a crowbar. good luck and make sure you use the bathroom before entering. thank you."

wait-

"now WHY in the ever-living fuck do we need to sign a whole ass waiver!?" now you were actually getting nervous, why did you need a waiver? it was just supposed to be jump scares...right?

tomura simply smiled at you, obviously trying to ease your nerves, and pulled you to the blood fountain. you read the waiver very carefully but still signed it. getting the required supplies the both of you made your way to the entrance.

you grabbed tomura's hand and interlocked your fingers, shaving your hands into your hoodie pocket. he squeeze your hand for reassurance and you walked in. it was dark and had a stuffy smell. the sound of water dripping and other people screaming was all you could hear until someone jumped out of a hole in the wall beside you.

yelling and grabbing hold of your shoulder, they shook their head violently. screaming and stumbling back into shigaraki you cocked your arm back and swung boom! the sound of fist cracking bone made the area silent. quickly realizing what you had done you rushed to make sure the person was ok though their hisses of pain made it clear they weren't. they tried laughing it off but when actual blood came gushing out of their nose they were quickly ushered out by one of their colleges.

you turned to shigaraki and in the dim lighting you could make out his bewildered face.

"I told you this wasn't a good idea." you felt bad, it was of course a natural reaction but that probably ruined your plans! what if they kicked you out? or worse?

"babe," you looked into his eyes while he pulled you guys off to the side. "everything is all right, ok? I'm bet they understand. this is a haunted house I'm sure this isn't the first time they got punched on the job." you tried to hold back a smile.

"there you are! now c'mon, let's get going. if you want I can walk in front, keep you from assaulting any more innocent people." he chuckled, stumbling back after you shoved him.

"innocent my ass! goin' around scaring people...the fuck is wrong with them!"

the rest of the time was spent with you screaming, bumping into tomura's back, running, dodging running men with chainsaws, and of course, swearing like there was no tomorrow.

once you finally got out the other end you sighed loudly in relief.

"i ain't never doing that shit again, you hear me?"

you enjoyed yourself but you were never gonna let him know that. while inside he promised to get you apology food and you weren't gonna miss out on a free meal.

walking out you waved at the woman in the heels and head back into the subway.

"what are you in the mood to eat?" tomura asked.

"hm... maybe some tacos?"

"oh oh oh! I know this great spot that sells the best birria tacos!"

"for real? bro I haven't had birria in so long!" just the thought made your mouth water.

after eating and thoroughly thanking everyone that worked in the shop you and shigaraki left, large smiles on your faces. you made your way back to your apartment, deciding on taking the long route and going through the park.

the scene was gorgeous. falling brown and orange leaves, people walking their dogs, and jogging along the concert paths. teenagers laying in the patches of grass reading novels, having a picnic, and talking endlessly with friends. you and tomura walked hand in hand down the path, enjoying the comfortable silence that had fallen over the two of you. the feeling of content and ease flowed through your body and all you could do was let out a sigh.

when you finally arrived at your apartment the familiar smell of home made you smile. tomura walked in a quickly got settled. he took off his shoes, placed his jacket on the rack, and plopped on the couch.

"movie marathon?" he asked.

"um duh? lemme just get relaxed first cause I'm definitely gonna fall asleep." the both of you chuckled as you head into your room. removing your layers of clothes and putting them away you undressed and walked into the bathroom. adjusting the water temperature you stepped in a sighed at the hot/cold water hitting your back. today was wonderful, shigaraki really was an amazing boyfriend.

you hummed a sweet tone as you did your nightly routine. checking your phone as you head into your room you were shocked at the time. 5:57 pm. still pretty early.

damn I was in the shower for a minute tho!

when you looked up from your phone you were shown a view of tomura in nothing but a towel around his waist. water dripped from his hair and down his skinny but muscular arms. it was definitely a sight for sore eyes. he was rummaging through your closet, most probably looking for a change of clothes he'd left here.

"stop staring pervert. you were taking forever so I decided to shower too." his unbothered tone made the embarrassment even worse. you giggled nervously and said a quick apology before slipping into something comfortable.

a hoodie that surely wasn't yours and some random shorts were what you wore while making something to drink for the both of you. black coffee for tomura with an unhealthy amount of sugar and some plain ole tea for you. on nights like these it always made you feel as though you were in a book, living out your childhood fantasies.

cupping your tea in your hands you walked over to your window and stared out. looking past the building across and all those that followed and into the horizon, watching the sunset and the sky change into a beautiful mix of colors.

shigaraki came up behind you, placing his chin on your shoulder and a hand on your waist. you stayed there like that for a moment, enjoying the view and the feelings of having someone to spend these beautiful intimate moments together. you loved him, though it was still early you really did. you wanted to say it, to shout it at the rooftops but you stayed silent and sipped your tea. giggling while he places gentle kisses along your neck, reassuring you of all his feelings regardless of what he said, or of what he didn't.

when the sun finally disappeared and the sky morphed into deep shades of blue you both settled on the couch. mugs placed atop coasters on the coffee table while you pressed your back into his chest, tucking the blanket securely under your arms.

tomura kept his arm around you, glad that you were comfortable, and pressed play on the movie you guys decided. with the curtains closed and all the lights off the only light came from the tv. he looked down at you, watching to colors dance along your face, and admired the beauty that you held.

god, how he loved october.

Sometime in the beginning of the Ghosts/just formed tf stalker, they gotta get undercover somewhere and for disguise reasons they need a woman, but given they are all guys one has gotta dress up, there was the quiet question of getting Mrs Walker (cause they all know she a badass too), but Elias refused that directly, so they were back to one of them. Gabe directly said that he's the Captain, he's not gonna do it, he'll be the front guy, Keegan and Ajax were also directly put aside, they are too young. So it was between the rest of the guys and because they couldn't decide they pulled sticks and Elias lost and therefore had to play the "date".

They managed to get a nice dress and non obvious wig from somewhere and got Elias all dolled up and they all were shocked at how nice he looked (most of all Elias himself). It also doesn't look like a dude in a dress, but actually like a tall slightly buff Woman. (They are also confused onto why Elias can relatively well walk in the heels, but nobody dares to ask)

Needless to say that he gets hit on quite a few times, Rorke chases everyone off tho as soon as they get to close, except for one the guy they were there for, who very gladly gives out enough info on what they need to the pretty "Lady".

Elias never heard the end of it, and he may or may not be giving out bribes so that the Ghosts keep that hidden from his boys, he does not want them to have that ammunition on him

PERFECT hook, 10/10. Straight to the point, and attention catching! Phenomenal.

I bet that even though the idea to involve the wifey directly was rejected, she still had a hand in making Elias the wonderfully buff lady he turned out to be. I don't think any of the others would keep a dress in the closet, much less a wig. And a bit of makeup would not hurt.... I'm saying that Mrs. Walker was like the costume department, she absolutely helped prettify her husband lmao. Took entirely too much joy in the opportunity as well, came up with his cover name and gave him some pointers to sound more feminine.

Rorke chasing everyone off as if Elias wouldn't be able to do that on his own lmao. Has to fight the part of him that wants to outright moider their target when Elias has to chat him up. Mf was SEETHING, meanwhile Elias was like "I haven't been flirted with this much since college! :D" having the time of his life. He can excuse the murdery looks Rorke is giving by just waving him off as a bodyguard or smthn. (Bodyguard au for the ghost husbands when?)

Elias can bribe the Ghosties all he wants, Logan and Hesh will find out eventually. It's just a matter of time... and a well placed photo set by an unknown trouble maker/prankster. Kick

crew casting: it ended up being about a 50/50 split between liyue adepti and mortal characters—this was mostly a happy coincidence though! I remembered that Menogias canonically likes designing intricate outfits and also made Zhongli's clothes, so he's the costume designer instead of cloud retainer. since she's handy w mechanical things and inventions + has a sense of the arts and style (eg ganyu + shenhe), I put her on production designer instead. she'd probably be able to come up w some pretty inventive set designs I think. I was between madame ping, guizhong, xinyan, and yun jin for music—originally I intended to make the cast most/all adepti, so i'd decided against yun jin + xinyan. in the exquisite night chimes cutscene with madame ping and guizhong, ping was stated to value music's human expressiveness and emotion—and I thought that was more fitting for a movie composer!

originally i was going to have yanfei be editor LOL, since she's probably pretty detail oriented as a lawyer and able to do the fine tuning and editing of cuts/scenes—went for ganyu in the end, partly because she feels more connected to the rest of the crew, and also because the vibes of secretary and editor just fit together better lol. they're both one of those mostly under the radar jobs that don't get much attention but are really important to something's success. I added in xingqiu and hu tao as story writers pretty late; originally yun jin was going to do both story and screenplay, but I split it up and put them both on story after seeing the vision (below).

xingqiu's legend of sword flop combined with hu tao's reputation gives this hypothetical movie a greatly increased chance of absolutely tanking in liyue's box office!!!

keqing and ningguang are producers just because they're members of the qixing—originally guizhong was going to be a third producer but I bumped her to director later on (for a rather mundane reason: i was running out of space on that line). ok finally we've come to the directors. I thought it would be funny if rex lapis was listed as a director, given Zhongli has too many names and outfits. you can use your imagination to make this make sense in a real au :) guizhong getting added as co-director was also a nice thing that happened coincidentally—I found it neat to have the two founders of liyue as directors and kept it.

logos: I decided to go all in and slapped some designs together for qixing films and glazed moon studios! these were lowkey fun and they turned out pretty well honestly! quality is bad tho, i didn't make them full size or svg RIP

2 versions of the glazed moon studios logo—the 1st one is unused bc i decided against the way the m and o are joined together. tbh I don't know whether this looks enough like a logo for a movie studio instead of say, a perfume brand or high end pastry bakery, but it's good enough

the website is a fake but there is a real page at that link about ancient history school presentations

april 28 was the release date of the no mere stone quest! and pg13 is. idk warnings for character death i guess. and genshin is supposedly rated for people 12 and up so i went with that

concepts/process: originally I was going to have the entire thing be one poster:

the white stuff behind kun jun is supposed to resemble the white wisps of energy that he had near the end of the quest when he's close to disappearing. and I struck out his eyes because of the huge huge thing the quest had about Morax's gift of sight—his glasses, Zhongli as the sun to a blind dragon, I thought it was a fitting nod to that whole theme. overall tho this version was too cluttered, had no focus, and also didn't have enough room for a potential credits block. so i split it into two—one with the background, and added the small retuo in front, and another w kun jun and the credits. i think it worked pretty well!

and. 1 final version of the kun jun poster, with the alternate quote "if it is fated, Morax, we will meet again." you can see some of the old crew choices and logo designs—and Qixing Films was originally Celestial Films haha

oh! one last thing: take this transparent kun jun (and several others) for the road :)

OKAY SO. I have now watched two episodes and i have so much to say (long rambling post ahead, sorry)

Iñaqui is perfect. I was worried that he would not live up to the hype but he does. He captures luffy perfectly and manages to adapt luffy's personality to the new medium / the tone of the show. He is not just copying luffy, if that makes sense. Hes funny and silly and clearly having a great time which is exactly why he is the best possible casting. He just makes me smile so hard (btw my friend said he was his favorite character hehe)

I love Zoro, I wish he would smile more/be sillier but I think his sense of humor in the show works. I hope we see him call out some of his moves eventually, like, Get over youself and be silly!!!! But i love the actor and I loooove the zoro/luffy dynamic so far. I do have to say that i have mixed feelings about the change to Zoro joining the crew, i have always loved the moment when he calls luffy captain at shells town, but whatever its fine

(((Zolu shippers keep winning tho. i went insane over the "he believes in himself" bit)))

Nami.... im still not sold on the actress, she feels a bit stiff sometimes, but its better than what i was expecting based on the trailers. Not a fan of turning Nami into the "older sister" character :/ but im not surprised that they went with that angle. LOVED to see her fight alongside luffy and zoro, it is something that i wish we could see more of in the manga/anime. I love that they give her a lot more to do and we see her actually lock picks and be a thief! Im hopeful for the rest of the season and cant wait to see how they did Arlong Park. I really enjoyed her scene with Zoro when they are captured by Buggy, again i really miss seeing them interact in the original so it was nice

And that leads us to BUGGY. oh boy. I do like the costuming and his crew looked amazing, but hes too edgy for my taste. Maybe the actor is taking himself too seriously? Idk maybe i should reread the orange town chapters but i dont think buggy was ever this threatening and scary... he still had some goofy moments tho, so im hoping that as the show progresses he will be more like the buggy we know and love. My friend liked him a lot so ig it might have been the right call in order to bring in new fans.

I liked how they changed Alvida! It was totally the best way to handle her character (also, the actress is so hot, no one would have believed it if they called her ugy lol). I dont see why they took away Kobys big moment :/ I think it was a great disservice to his character

So far, I like the way they are condensing the plot. Obviously they would have to cut a lot, so im okay with how they are doing it. Orange Town felt a little rushed to me, but its okay.

LETS TALK ABOUT MR 7 THO. I fucking gasped. Did everyone already know that mr 7 was going to be on this? Cuz i didnt. It was such a good fight and i loved that they added that, they are clearly confident on getting a second season which makes ME more confident too. God i really hope we get Baroque Works.

The sets look amazing, i love the transponder snails SO MUCH, the fights are really cool and the CGI looks so good. The Devil Fruit looked too fake but eh, thats just a nitpick. The costumes are a mixed bag. I know namis orange skirt with the rings on the side is iconic but i think the actress looked silly with that outfit lol.

Okay im done HAHA sorry im going a bit insane. TLDR: I love it, im having a blast, i dont like some details here and there but im extremely positive about the show and cant wait to see the rest :)))) What did you think????

Johnny x reader; The blindside scene: They hired the reader to be his cheerleader. A cute costume, Pom poms, a routine, chants, and everything. He gets hit and she checks on him but he tries to play it cool but everyone can tell he is in pain.

This is such a good idea especially because I love that scene!

His Biggest Cheerleader

“Jeff, I am not wearing this” I announced from inside the trailer changing room, looking at myself in the mirror. Knox was filming a stunt they called “the blindside” where essentially he was going to get his ass handed to him by pro players.

Jeff wanted me to be his “cheerleader” and gave me a costume. However the top cut off right under my boobs, and had “Knoxville” spelled out across my chest, and the skirt didn’t do much for covering my ass. But don’t forget the Pom poms either. “Just get out there, give him something to look at” Jeff said pushing me out towards the field, catching the other guy’s attention and a few wolf-whistles.

They began filming, and I began cheering for knox, trying to not think about my ass hanging out of the skirt. He actually wasn’t doing as terrible as everyone expected, until about 2 minutes in he got tackled and piled upon.

When the guys got off him, he just was laying still until we heard him groaning as he brought his knee to his chest. It was no secret that Knox and I liked eachother, and we had hooked up before when we were both tipsy, but didn’t want to make anything official out of fear that it would mess with the crew dynamics, but when I saw him clearly in pain I dropped the pom poms and ran over to him.

“Holy shit knox, here take this off” I said, getting to him before Jeff or Lance could. I pulled his helmet off carefully and placed his head in my lap, his face wincing. “Knox whats hurting man?” Jeff asked leaning over him.

“Nothing, I-I’ll be fine. Just give me a few” he sighed, clearly still in a lot of pain. He looked up at me tho and smiled and said, “plus I have a great distraction from the pain too” with a wink.

“Seriously Knox, tell Jeff what’s wrong you’re clearly not okay” I said, setting my hand on the side of his face. “My ribs, it hurts to breathe” he said laughing before groaning in pain again at the movement of his ribs. “Jeff, get the medic, I’ll go with him” I said, ignoring Knox’s pleas of “I’m fine, really”

The medics came and got him on a stretcher, and I kept my promise climbing into the ambulance with him holding his hand. “Nice outfit” he said, looking down my body with a smirk on his face. “Oh shut up, I’m only wearing this because Jeff insisted” I told him, smiling at him as the sirens roared outside. “I’ll meet you in the hospital, Jeff’s gonna meet us there with a change of clothes for me, then I’ll go in and find you” I told him as he nodded at me but then asked, “what’s supposed to distract me from all this pain if you change” with a pout on his face. “I’m sure I can think of other ways to distract you, pretty boy” is all I said to get him to smile and shut up.

Fixing Up Store-Bought Cosplay! (Miu)

I impulse bought this lot of DRV3 cosplays.

People on the DR amino voted for Miu to get fixed up first so I'm going to show you some tips on how to make this cosplay look a lil more like the spirites.

First the diagnosis...

Not great. The belts give me mad AoT cosplayer flashbacks. These things are cheap, sewn backwards and were already falling apart. Also don't understand why belts weren't just sewn to the costume???

So the first thing I did was buy actual leather harnesses and gloves. Amazon has belt harnesses that are clearly what informed her design without the anime physics involved. The new ones won't fall down.

Next was the sad tiny bow.

2.5 inch satin ribbon, I just stared at a Jojo Siwa bow until I could figure out to make the bow part bigger since the ribbon was the same width as the one I had. I wrapped the outter piece around nice and tight and did a few wip stiches to keep it in place. Anytime you're working with a ribbon, don't forget to use a lighter to melt the cut ends to keep them from fraying.

Next the goggles. I used spray glue and fabric to cover the lenses (I'll later put a layer of modge podge over it to give it some gloss.) Then hot glues gold rings to it. Always check remanent bins at craft stores for little things like this.

They're supposed to be little lenses, but it's all about the illusion. I found some gold buttons later to mimic hinges.

The wig I left braided and let bake in my car for a week (an easy way to heat set wigs in the desert). This trick might work with a steamer, but the goal is to let the braids (and positioning them in waves) to both curl the wig and keep them in those little tendril ropes. The bangs were completely unstyled, so i was able to cut and tease them in relation to my face shape <3

The socks were the easiest fix. Cut off the toes and turned them into leg warmers. They go down boots, so it doesn't matter if they're real socks. What matters is they scrunch up above the boots.

Here's the finished product! With the belts being adjustable, it made it easier to fit everything to my body. It also helped the costume look less baggy and let me shove the top of the skirt under the waist belt to make it look like a mini skirt without sewing! The arm belts art attached to the shirt with two whipstiches. That way, I can still easily remove it to wash the shirt.

I already owned the boots and they're in her color palette, so lil bit of artistic liberties there. I feel they work tho and I'm really trying not to buy anymore cosplay shoes (they're the most expensive and people rarely include them in pics at con.) Same for the necklaces. I have a few barbed wire necklaces on the way, but it might be too much now that the belts connect the neck like they're supposed to.

Overall I'm really happy, even if I went over budget thanks to the belts.

Retail, what I got from the cosplay lot for Miu would have been around $78 new (This includes the wig and goggles).

After buying new accessories, I spent a total of $69.32 So I consider that a win!

Hi Hollowsart since October is coming next what does Acedia, the sinister six, and other characters in Acedia universe do for Halloween 🎃?

OH 100% HALLOWEEN PARTY!!

Also similar stuff like last year!! having a haunted house sort of set up for people of all ages to come and explore and collect candy and toys from. Beck and Otto going all out with their decorations and costumes and theming for Halloween.

Acedia gets a proper costume this time around, tho! She's gonna dress up like both her boyfriends. a combination of fake arms that Otto helped to put together with pool noodles and wire clothing hangers and a little dome helmet she borrows from Beck <3

..Vampire!Mysterio.. lives rent free in my mind. but also Pirate!Mysterio is also really good. I can't decide :( He'd look so good in almost anything.. augh.. He could dress up in his alien costume?? THERE'S TOO MANY CHOICES..

Pirate!Otto is just too perfect. I can't think of much else that would be good for him to dress up as. (I can't say vampire, I've already said that for Mysterio.. I can't be repetitive. whatever he dresses up as, he'll look really nice.)

Anyways, Acedia goes trick-or-treating with Beck and they meet back up at Otto's with their treasure, share the candy amongst the 3 of them while ending the night with a movie.

The S6 would all have a party the day before, celebrating and having fun. Meeting together at Otto's place or wherever they have their S6 meetings. they'd dress up and bring Acedia along, too. the place would be all decked out in decorations for the season and for the party!

Some other characters like the Lincoln family would hold a grand Halloween style party of their own. Maybe some charities to be held alongside it for the partygoers to donate to, etc etc. the Lincoln family are very well liked by the city.

Others like Kingpin, for example, would simply go out to clubs or parties to pass the night.

and then you have Norman who barely decorates the house and doesn't like to do much of anything for the holidays. He only does any holiday celebrations because his wife, Emily, is very much a fan of celebrating them. She gets Norman to wear a Halloween themed suit and some fake fangs. :)

Otherwise, Norman would literally do nothing and treat the holidays as just another work day.

so I’ve watched all 4 released eps of Bed Friend

things I like:

the directorial style; I noticed this in Cutie Pie but Mandee studio seems to be adopting a lot of cinema stylings from Korea and I dig that. it’s a sleek looking series, the lighting is always solid, the color grading is smooth and beautiful, nothing looks overly flat visually it’s a strong series. I also love love love there’s multiple locations being used I often see in BL only like a handful of meh locations making the entire story feel very small so I like there’s lots of location being used here

the costuming; I really like that Uea and King have very separate stylings that enhance their characters. The secondary characters are also styled nicely, nothing to notable but BL often leaves costuming on read and dusty so I’m always appreciative when I see strong thought in the costuming

the music; I like the soundtrack that’s being used though they def overuse the love ballad a bit to much like god damn, also some of the music cues don’t flow well together but the soundtrack itself is strong

the setting; I don’t think I’ve seen a Thai BL set in an office before tbh and like it’s so refreshing I really enjoy office romances/dramas so I really dig this

the story; I actually really like Uea they’re a really interesting character I wasn’t expecting the series to be more of a character drama than a romance/BL but I don’t at all mind it. I’m hoping to see some real growth for Uea and for all the people in his life who hurt him - and jfc there are way to many - get there’s. Like can the stepdad and ex boyfriend at least go to jail?? I highly doubt the mom will but fuck can Uea and his little sister abandon her completely? I really like the show kept it realistic tho, plenty of parents don’t believe their kids and choose their partners over them. I even get how Uea ended up in a relationship with Pock b/c Pock gives off love bomber vibes and Uea would be susceptible to that sort of behavior

things I’m meh on:

the acting; while I really like uea as a character they’re interesting but the actor, James, is just okay imo they’re solid they’re not like the worst~~~ actor I’ve seen in a BL (y’all don’t wanna know my opinions on that lmao) but you can tell their inexperienced especially in scenes that require more emotion idk if this is James first leading role I don’t keep up with the actors like that, though I know James and Net are apparently pretty popular or well liked? Idk why and frankly idc James is likable so it’s whatever, but I def get Acting vibes when those more emotional scenes come up I also don’t like the actor that plays Jade that much, Net as King is fine the rest of the cast is fine. The mom is super over the top but idk if that’s the actress of the story itself but god damn woman my ears

the nc scenes; straight up I do not understand why this series is rated nc17 on iqiyi the sex scenes are hella tame like LitA and Kinnporsche, yeah they earned their nc17 ratings but Bed Friend?? Hell I’ll give Big Dragon it’s kudos even tho I didn’t think their nc scenes were that wild either but they earned it by showing ass. Bed Friend is a high PG13 at best and I say this with love lol I don’t mind it but it is weird it’s rated so high imo

King; I’ma get it for this but I’m pretty meh on King currently. He’s the type of romantic lead I’m always meh on his motivations are just “in love with Uea/treating Uea right” we know nothing about him as a char except the crumb about his brother being a perfectionist and maybe that’s caused some bad blood between him and his mom. It makes the narrative dynamic between Uea and King unbalanced for me like Uea is so interesting! They’re a full fledged char and King just isn’t. I like him, Net has natural screen charisma him and James have nice chemistry, but King is just...fine. He’s fine. He’s hot and he’s nice so he’s fine.

things I disliked;

the twitter fandom they so cranky! they are SO cranky and for what I ask? For what? I saw ppl complaining there wasn’t enough kissing, or scenes between cut that were in the trailer(s) and like have y’all never watched a thing before in y’alls lives? Shit always gets cut from trailers this isn’t new and also some actor drama or studio drama with Mandee and I refuse!!! I refuse to even peak closer into that shit like why is twitter fandom so damn cranky all the time. I can only guess that ppl are feeling a kinda way b/c the romance is more secondary to like, Uea as an individual char and their story but w/e stop hating it’s a cute show

Anyway, looking forward to seeing how the rest of the episodes - which was extended from 8 to 10 that’s interesting hmmm - pan out. Hoping for more King development tbh like that’s a must for me rn and for all the ppl who hurt Uea to get there’s like Glory it up Uea do it

[LBP - LBsP 03/22/24] 296 - Box o' Clocks

This was fun to put together, right up until i actually tried recording it; then it was a giant mess. We didn't even get to all the stuff i'd wanted to talk about, but i figured we were already pushing 15 just going over the two clocks.

The reversible clock really isn't all that, tho' it is fun. i like having logic & bits that can serve multiple purposes in different settings. Not sure how often you'd need a clock that can do both in just one level, but you set it up to go both ways, and now you have a timer for a race-type level, and a countdown for an escape room. Versatile!

For my own purposes, i like chronos' clock more. It's very elegant and easy to work wiv when you've got to set it to different times every episode. Wish it had a broader font set, but the fine-line looks nice in green. Looks nice for text too, but i feel like the line-weight isn't heavy enough to sustain longer passages.

i'll try getting around to the simple animations and kitbashed sequencer tutorials eventually. i do want to make them, but i don't really feel a lot of motivation for it right this minute.

Things are well enough here. Wiv @soupum 's help i got the ps3 set up and on Beacon, and that's exciting. Honestly, Soup did a fantastic job guiding a very tech-skittish me through the steps. The soul of patience, that boy.

It's weird seeing new levels published in LBP1 & 2, even if a lot of the ones i've run into have been from the LBArchive, or costume tutorials/give-aways. So. So. So many costume levels. It's been a good weird, tho'. It's nice that there are still folx actively giving time and love to this strange little thing we've got going.

There are just four more episodes left in the LittleBig-Archives, and then that's that until the servers come back on line. That's weird feeling in the less good way. i'm sure the servers will come back. No telling how long; but it feels like Sony's giving it an honest shot. Which frankly surprises the heck out of me, but lots of things do, so that's alright.

Okay so I have watched like, three Avatar live action episodes so far and here are some quick thoughts on it. (Spoiler alert this is a positive post, negativity DNA unless you want to make me sad)

- Right off the bat it should be noted that my standards for good tv / movies are pretty low these days. Due to the general state of tv / movies, I have been forced to place the bar of acceptability at « I can see what is happening on the screen and the character’s costumes have colours ». NATLA passes both criterias with flying — well, colours.

- Secondly I actually like the way the show handles the character arcs. I feel like people who are complaining just noticed that they changed or toned down some aspects of the character arcs, and were so angry that they straight up stopped paying attention instead of noticing all the new and nuanced things that were added in. Every character is getting an interesting and intriguing storyline, they just don’t look exactly the same as in the original. If that makes you froth at the mouth, may I suggest not watching any adaptation ever maybe? Because huh that’s kind of what adaptations do.

- Unfortunately the pacing is kinda clunky and some of the dialogue is irritating, especially the recurrent thing where a character who would usually prefer to die before speaking about their feelings — or wouldn’t have the emotional maturity to even realize what they are feeling — just turn to the camera and loudly announce « I am feeling this thing! ». However, those two issues are obviously a result of not enough episodes. They had to cram A LOT in eight episodes and that is Netflix’s fault, not the showrunner’s. With eight episodes they basically had the choice between not having the time to properly « show not tell » and therefore having to cut out the character’s more subtle emotional states entirely, or try to work in conversations and monologues in which the characters just straight up say things to each other. So you get Aang telling Appa he’s scared of being the avatar and Zuko actually admitting out loud that he has hope that he might get to go home. It is what it is.

- They clearly ran out of money for wigs tho. Gran-gran’s wig is horrendous and the only thing I cannot forgive.

- Aside from some clunky pacing and gran-gran’s wig tho, everything else has slapped so far. Sokka is PERFECT. Suki was great too. Sad that they didn’t put Sokka in the full Kyoshi warrior getup but it does create an unintentionally hilarious moment where the kyoshi people are all like « um no we don’t have any outsiders in our village, no sir mister fire soldier » and meanwhile this idiot is just standing there all dressed in BLUE

- Aang is also perfect. Zuko is perfect. Katara is doing that thing where you bottle up all your anger inside and never make it anyone else’s problem and just keep smiling and being nice and polite and then you die, which unfortunately seems to make people think she just has no anger? Lmao okay.

- the cgi was hit and miss in the first episode but then got a lot better

- the fight choreographies are ON POINT OMG

- I didn’t remember why I didn’t like Jet (forgor most of his arc in the show) but just remembered I didn’t like him, which made for an interesting ep 3 viewing experience lol

- also Kevin from supernatural?????

- would prefer it if my husband stopped saying « okay Anakin! 🙄 » every time someone gets set on fire but I think that might just be an issue in my household
