Hey! Curious if you're currently into any great shows. If so, mind sharing your recommendations? Always on the lookout for some good TV suggestions!
I imagine you've seen everything I have. I spend more time gaming. Not into anything great at the moment, but I can dig deep and see if I can remember what shows I've watched since Hannibal aired and give my opinions. I binge TV series with my mom who is in her 80's and has Parkinson's and macular degeneration and can't really do activities or read anymore, so I rewatched some old ones with her here largely to torture her with them, so they'll be in here also.
S-Tier (Winners)
My Brilliant Friend. Probably the best thing I've watched since Hannibal. If S4 is out I haven't seen it yet, no spoilers.
Better Call Saul. Possibly tied with My Beautiful Friend. Better than Breaking Bad. Much better ending. So good, no complaints. Nailed the ending. Did I mention the ending?
A-Tier (Runners-up)
Black Sails: God, there were some parts of this that were so gratuitous and tedious, especially early on, and I hated Eleanor Guthrie and not in the kind of way that means good things for a show. Some of the dialogue was just really on the nose too. This sounds like a lot of complaints, but the things it did well, it did SO WELL that it really does make up for the negatives. The acting was sooooo good and the Flint and Silver dynamic was AMAZING and the show looked great, and over all that, it really had something thoughtful to say, and that stays with you when it's over.
Stranger Things: Some parts of this show hit better than others, but I'm squarely in the bullseye of the target audience and get the vast majority of the references and nostalgia, and I love David Harbour. I appreciate their exploration of various types of horror, attempting a new style each season, and I like the charm and humor and cheese, and it's a show that knows its voice and its tone and commits fully to those things. It's trying to be a fun show and it is, and it wants to deal with real fears and real grief, and it does.
The Handmaid's Tale: Speaking of shows that are committed to their tone, this one definitely is that. It's too heavy and relentless for most people, I think, but I don't mind that at all. Parts of it do drag, but it has a lot of the same qualities (for good or bad) as Black Sails: great acting, powerful character dynamics, the things that it does well it does so well it makes up for the shortcomings, imo.
Breaking Bad: Famous show, not much to say here. Rewatched it recently and don't think it's as good as Better Call Saul, so I put it here.
B-Tier (Can't complain but will anyway)
Good Omens: Can't get into it, can't find anything particularly wrong with it. I'm into the ship. I guffaw out loud while watching it yet am thoroughly bored most of the time. Love Michael Sheen and David Tennant on screen together. I know the show can't be that all the time but I wish it was. Aziraphale ftw. I feel like people missed the point of the ending of the last season.
Mad Men: Show could give Seinfeld a run for its money in terms of being about nothing, but definitely had its charm. Watched it with my mom so her nostalgia and appreciation for how historically authentic it felt went a long way. Good performances. God, it could be boring sometimes though.
Vikings: This one was a lot like Black Sails for me. They had a bit of a struggle for a season or two but once going, they really got going. Many great acting performances and characters. Loved Ecbert and Ivar especially. Didn't have Toby Stephens and Luke Arnold, so you know...can't quite make that tier. And didn't have as much to say, or didn't say it as well, and it doesn't stay with you.
C-Tier (Can complain and will, but were good enough to stick with)
LOST
The X-Files
His Dark Materials
Downton Abbey
BBC Sherlock
Game of Thrones (I think most people have misdiagnosed this show's problems, but it sure did have them)
D-Tier (Tried but could NOT, though many people will like these...they were just Not For Me)
Bridgerton
Dark
The Good Place
The Gilded Age
Outlander
The Crown
Outer Range (what even the fuck with this show)
I tried to think of more shows I've watched in this time, but this about sums it up. But here are a couple YouTube channels I really like:
Beau of the Fifth Column
Bistro Huddy

Hello, what do you think of optimisticDuelist's Role-playing theory? Basically, he suggested that instead of inverting, Rose was role-playing a misinterpretation of her mother's classpect. He also suggests Terezi was role-playing Redglare's Knight class while investigating Murderstuck, and that Vriska and Aranea were role-playing each other's classes. I recommend watching "HSE: Guardians and Ancestors" for more about his theory. :D
Since I'm trying to get back in the swing of things (might still take me a few weeks), I might as well remind y'all of my earlier position:
I haven't read or watched optimisticDuelist's theories yet, and I probably ought to before I make any serious judgments on the matter. Plus, I'm not caught up with HS^2's recent new updates, and I was under the impression that oD had some input into HS^2 as a whole-- I'm not sure if Andrew gave the writers and collaborators on that project the latitude to make some changes from the system that was intended by Andrew in the original comic's run, but I wouldn't be surprised if he had, so for all we know some of those theories may retroactively fit the original comic even if they weren't initially intended! Or introduced as just a NEW thing that can happen! That's one sort of thing that I was originally so devoted to the comic's "original intent" that I wouldn't have accepted easily, but I'm coming to accept as a possibility a bit easier now, with how much Andrew has pushed Death of the Author and how much the ending of the comic showed that many of the things I judged were "important" in-comic weren't important to him at all.
However, if we're looking as far back as Act 5 Act 2, I believe there's a serious fundamental difference in scope and scale between trolls like Vriska and Terezi poorly cosplaying the trappings and aesthetics of ancestors whose classpects we didn't know at the time -- ancestors who were in fact constantly teased with words like Thief (Mindfang), Seer (Redglare), and Witch (Condesce) to match their younger descendants' classes even though Andrew likely intended for them to have had different classes all along -- and the severe, extreme, and powerful event that seems to be full-on hero role inversion.
Reading some Homestuck liveblogs lately, I was reminded of the strong and intentional connections that all of Homestuck has with Carl Jung's psychological theories and the concept of the "Shadow" self. And I'm not just talking about a superficial resemblance between the Shadow and role inversion, or the "assimilation of the shadow" and the uniting of one's Real Self and Dream Self to ascend to God Tier. No-- I mean that Jung's theories, even if somewhat discredited, are referenced by the complex stew of mythologies that make up Sburb and define how the game is played, just like all the pop and serious references to works like Lord Of The Rings that made it into the game's objectives. If you skim that wikipedia page you'll very quickly see what I mean:
Nevertheless, Jung remained of the opinion that while "no one should deny the danger of the descent [...] every descent is followed by an ascent",[54] and assimilation of—rather than possession by—the shadow becomes a possibility.

There's a good reason that Rose was given an interest in psychotherapy leading into the comic. It's tightly tied to the whole story's themes! Trying to show players the potential they have as individuals, the power inherent in their very personalities, and setting them a stage to confront themselves and grow into someone who would shape the future and accept their own self-worth, is the entire point of the game and the answer to the Ultimate Riddle. Every major character had to go through the arduous process of confronting their flaws and talents and trying to accept who they were. The game IS the psychotheraputic journey from start to finish, complete with the same monumental challenges, pitfalls, rejection and acceptance (of help and of oneself!) that all sorts of different people must confront in order to simultaneously fully appreciate and become themselves, and also become the people they truly want to be. Because despite what self-loathing and toxic gender norms and all sorts of naysayers would have us believe, those two things are closer to the same thing than most can easily imagine. The journey to discover, accept, unite with and leverage the power of being you.
And when you tie Jungian Psychology to MBTI personality types, you can practically flip the letters into an opposed Shadow too, in a less literal but startlingly similar way to the class-and-aspect-flip Inversion Theory that we proposed. (DAMMIT i still need to rewrite the Aradia post to be less pretentious, that's been on my to-do list for years but I've never been up to it...)
Again, I still need to read/watch optimisticDuelist's theories (I've had a hard time emotionally looking deep into anything Homestuck for a good while now, and even though you're referencing some pretty old theories i was NEVER very good at keeping up with others' theories besides what was specifically brought to my attention, it was a serious problem), but from what I recall in-comic every time I saw someone mimic or cosplay an ancestor they were mostly... just cosplaying! Nothing is stopping a Seer from picking up a sword and trying to do some knight stuff. TRYING. The only issue is that they won't be very good at it, because they're not actually learning about themselves and leveraging the strengths of their own personality and power set. I have no idea how to use a gun or weapons; if I were to pick one up and try to suddenly join a battle, I would have no idea what I'm doing and would be more likely to get myself or others hurt rather than do anyone any actual good. And even when someone like Terezi picked up a (cane-)sword in the comic, she still mostly used it as a Seer would, as the threat to punctuate or act on explicitly foreseen possibilities. When she ran Vriska through, she was acting on a VISION borne of the realities that hinged on others' decisions and fronts, that revealed themselves through her understanding the Mind aspect. It was no martial superpower, no mental trick-- all Terezi had was the superpower of understanding how badly Vriska's move to fight Jack would play out, with the necessary certainty she needed in order to confidently stab Vriska.
(Brief edit: as an aside, many classes of Heart player might be more positioned to take on and leverage the skills and uniqueness of others. Roleplaying others was one of NEPETA'S strengths.)
Rose's inversion was very, very, VERY different.
The word "witch" was EVERYWHERE around Rose, almost moreso than the Void symbolism. "Witch" was plastered all over Act 5 Act 2 in both the text and visual representations. Other players like Eridan CALLED her a witch REPEATEDLY. We saw a Witch of Time using dual needles and magic. Andrew couldn't have shouted the word any louder. It came with IMMENSE power, the sort of power level we've deduced (and Doc and Rose hinted) comes from someone's Hero Title because it's more powerful than any other mundane, magical, or psychic power source, fitting to the Ultimate Riddle-- when someone pulls out their Hero Powers against any non-hero power source besides sometimes the Green Sun, the one using Hero Powers always wins. It isn't even a contest.
When Rose went grimdark, she looked like a Witch. She didn't look like her mother. And she didn't act like her mother either! Especially when we got Roxy Lalonde in Act 6, it was clear that Rose's Grimdark actions and modus-operandi were absolutely nothing like those of her ecto-sister, even with all the commonalities they shared as people. Whatever inspiration Rose received from her mother's behavior and aesthetics, all it seems she took from it in her Grimdark descent was the Void, and little else.
If you were to try and convince me that what Rose did in Act 5 Act 2 was meant by the author to convey to us the actions of someone behaving as a Rogue of Void and not a Witch of Void, you wouldn't just need to show me evidence of Roguish activity. You'd need to show me ENOUGH evidence that Andrew meant to hide Rogue behavior beneath an intentional Witch whitewash (like that prior tease with the Troll Ancestors being coyly made to sound like they matched their descendants that I described earlier), and that all the Witch symbology and actions were actually a bullshit red herring!!! Few readers thought there was any serious impact of her Grimdark phase to her Class until we stumbled upon Inversion Theory as an extension of Aspect Duality, and a red herring is pretty pointless if it doesn't convince anyone.
Saying that NONE of those witch hints mattered? THAT'S A REALLY TALL ORDER. "Witch of Void" is just way, way too strongly evidenced in my eyes, and almost half of our derivative understanding of classes and aspects is based on Seer <--> Witch duality! It'll be weeks before I have my mental health together enough to watch optimisticDuelist's theories, but like, Seer <--> Witch is the most confident I still am in any theory besides the Ultimate Riddle and Aspect Duality. It'd take quite a lot to make me believe otherwise, so expecting optimisticDuelist's videos to change my mind on this matter would be... er. A little optimistic.
And because of how dependent so many of my theories were on what we learned about aspect duality FROM role inversion, if Seer <--> Witch didn't happen, then you might as well throw out almost everything I've ever said on classpects with the bathwater and start over. Rightly call me biased, but I do really hope I don't have to do that!
(edit 1pm cdt: added a bit more to the second-to-last paragraph before the cut to hammer home that "Shadow (Psychology)" wikipedia article, seriously so many of the characters' journeys in the comic follow it like a playbook. edit 1:15pm cdt: fixed wandering read-more)

So. Mythical Sausage and Bdubs, huh. Mythdubs. You may have heard me talking about it, or maybe you haven't, since I'm so focused on ethubs (hope you will forgive me!! >.<) But truth is, i like them so much!!! And with the mcyt rarepair nominations opening up, i need to spread some MYTHDUBS PROPAGANDA!!! So here's a little messy "essay" i wrote about them. It's pretty much just recounting Canon, but maybe in the future i will write about how i personally see them in my own fanon. I want those guys to make it at least through round 1, so!!! If you are convinced by my rambling, you could maybe nominate them for me as well… 👉👈 Please, enjoy!!!
Bdubs is a Sun God, maybe just proclaimed that by Gem, but it doesn't matter since Sausage still worships him. Bdubs first thing calls him "mythy mythy sauce sauce" and continues to call him variations of Mythy and Saucy throughout their time together. and Sausage calls him "my sweet god". he (seemingly) throws away his faith in Pearl so easily to kiss Bdubs's bed and put on his sunglasses. Kissing the bed involves jumping up to Bdubs standing on two blocks, which lands Sausage's face right into Bdubs's Minecraft crotch and everybody in the room comments on that but Sausage just KEEPS KISSING HIM HE CAN'T STOP!!! Sausage showers him in like 18 green beds and gifts him a clock, which, as you may know, is a universal symbol of love to Bdubs.
Then Bdubs asks him to see Sanctuary and literally starts living there!! Sausage immediately showers him with gifts: wings, diamonds, netherite, Bdubs jokes "if i don't stop you, you're gonna give me the whole city!" and of course Sausage goes "would you like Sanctuary as well?? :D" They discuss recording kissing ASMR videos and creep Gem out with it.
He builds a giant sun overlooking all of Sanctuary in honor of Bdubs. But also Sausage puts Joel and Pearl above Bdubs in his god tier list, and then lies when Bdubs asks him about it and says it's just an order in which he met them. Bdubs knows Sausage is lying, IT'S OBVIOUS, but he can't be angry at him, he just wants to be higher on Sausage's tier list and he asks him what he would have to do to get there. Afterwards Bdubs sees the giant sun Sausage has built for him!! And he goes "oh... Oh... You built that for me? <...> That's so sweet. Can we see it up close?" HE SOUNDS SO TOUCHED!!! But Sausage, he is A LYING BASTARD so of course he twists the truth in such a way to gain a favor from Bdubs, he tells him that he felt guilty after saying that tier list and that's why he built that sun. CAN YOU SEE THE MIND GAMES BETWEEN THEM??? Bdubs knows Sausage is lying and tries to get his loyalty, not by shaming Sausage into it but by doing something for him that would convince Sausage — which shows Bdubs's selfless nature. But Sausage KNOWS Bdubs knows he's lying, but he doesn't stop, he lies again and he twists the truth and he wants to love everyone and be loved by everyone, even if it just means more lying and more people-pleasing. They make me insane sir. Two sides of the same coin.
So, in his typical Bdubs fashion, he tries to impress Sausage by standing on magma (which is part of the giant sun build), saying that it heals him (whilst it actively hurts him) because he's the Sun God!! And also of course to make him laugh, cuz that's Bdubs's love language, right?? :D So Sausage calls the sun The Eye of Bdubs, Bdubs says he's gonna use it to watch over Sanctuary, and over Sausage, to make sure he remains loyal; and Sausage says yes, watch over me!! I need your guidance! When Bdubs shrinks, Sausage calls him the cutest god, and Bdubs asks "are you still gonna worship me, even though I'm that small?"
After this in his own episode, Bdubs complains about Sausage's tier list and claims he's going to MAKE himself number one. He builds a beautiful Sun temple in Sanctuary, and you can already see how both of these builders use BUILDING to win over each other's hearts!! BUT AT THE SAME TIME they have a little back-and-forth going, where Sausage brags about ALWAYS doing interiors, clearly mocking Bdubs, so Bdubs leaves the interior of his temple for Sausage to figure out, and "it's a difficult puzzle, with weird rooms all over the place!" And whaddya know?? Sausage delivers. It's so mossy and colorful and overgrown, it's beautiful!!
And later on, Sausage assembles this magical staff from bits and pieces that his friends have given him, including a mushroom from Bdubs. And how he starts one of his episodes standing near the sun temple, talking about how much he misses his "god daddy" Bdubs and his beautiful giant eyes, how sad he is that Bdubs is now on Hermitcraft and he can't talk to him or see him???
And then he gets sent a piece of Bdubs's mossy cloak through dimensions, and he gets a new outfit with it that he wears for like the last 10 episodes or so of his series?? And on his very last episode, he manages to see Bdubs one last time... As a hologram, but still!! And Bdubs praises him for all the heroic deeds that he's done, and tells him to always embrace the light...
Sausage's connection with nature and Bdubs's ties with plants, moss and vines? Bdubs having a rich history with jungles and Sausage's empire being in a jungle? Sausage's empire connects with sunflowers because of Pearl, but it is a fun coincidence, because i have been also connecting Bdubs with sunflowers in my mind pretty strongly!! And both of their personalities, so expressive and warm and sunny!! They're so similar aren't they? Silly, fun-loving, kind and generous, but also a little bit chaotic and wild, amazing builders who are insanely loyal to their person of choice, who can't not compliment their friends All Of The Time, who are just so full of love for everything, always willing to help, but also not hiding their thirst for blood and liking for a little bit of chaos. They fit so well together!!! They're just. Two little guys full of happiness and love, who's favorite thing is to make people laugh.
I have much more to say, but this is all for now. Bye-bye! And please nominate mythdubs for me if you're convinced o7

Favorite The Owl House episode?
tbh, haven't rewatched the show in a long long time so might need to rewatch to be sure. for a while, it was eda's requiem. it means a lot to me and genuinely made me realize shit about myself. as dumb as it sounds it's what made me realize "...oh. if I died, that'd...probably fuck up the people around me." so it has a massively special place in my heart. and also the depth it gives eda! made me reevaluate shit about how I view parents and also just. god. the importance of found family and how important it is to acknowledge that it's just as important as blood family. found family is so often treated as secondary and seeing it portrayed as just as important is so fucking good and god! middle aged characters with depth! middle aged WOMEN with depth! some of the most accurate depression rep I've seen. she feels so real and raw and god, it's really nice to see a middle aged character who gave up learning to get back up again and stop feeling like they missed the best of their life and wasted it, and aaorudhdjd. god. I love eda. the music is beautiful and the duet is haunting, raeda fascinates me, and bard magic will ALWAYS be my favorite magic in toh.
I feel like the grey decaying thing works excellently as a metaphor for depression. it's what made me start going "is this a metaphor for mental illness?" because it FEELS like it. the voice acting is top tier and its so fucking good. it's just,,, man. a middle aged woman having an episode all to herself?? baby mes mind would've been BLOWN. her hatred of the curse wouldn't have hit nearly as hard without this episode, I think. the loneliness and feeling like it makes her Less is shown so well in this episode. it's just,,, man. as someone who's struggled with depression all my life, it resonates. she doesn't even CONSIDER king would still love her. raine saved her fucking life there and I'm still fucked up about it. it handles depression very well and its just. Man. that duet is one of the most memorable scenes in the show. darius abomination form is badass, raine's powers are so cool, the bats have my ENTIRE heart, the fucking MUSIC. brads music bangs. I love his soundtracks and this episode is just. always iconic to me.
that being said, I'm not entirely sure if it's my favorite episode right now? my brain flip flops on these things. right now I think it might be eclipse lake because it's just. SUCH a good episode. it's so gorgeous. the fight choreography, the animation, the lore, but most of all the EMOTION.
it has such excellent abuse rep. showing not only the complicated emotional reality of living with your abuser, of being dependent on your abuser, but also the fact that having an abusive relationship influences how you view ALL relationships. I love that amitys trauma isn't sidelined! what originally comes off as amity being a little TOO excited about having a girlfriend and also dana flipping off disney is shown to be amity being fucking terrified of losing this. she's so desperate to prove herself and since they're foils we gain knowledge as to what odalia and amitys relationship might've been like through hunter and gain insight into how hunter might view other relationships going forward through amity and it's LOVELY.
it also drives me insane that people use this episode as proof amity would hate hunter when. nah. nah, absolutely not. also I love how it shows how fucking KIND amity actually is. this boy's threatened and backstabbed her multiple times and is showing he's willing to do ANYTHING to win, and she still feels so much fucking sympathy for him. because she gets it. he's like her. she would've done this in his shoes. she offers him kindness and shows no sign of holding a grudge??? NONE???? this woman is fucking forgiving. she would have every right to hate his guts and she doesn't. idk what y'all mean when you say she's a jerk shes fucking KIND.
also hunters breakdown is painful to watch. I don't know what I can say about it that hasn't already been said. it's so raw and resonant, it feels like watching a real kid, it has such a realistic depiction of abused kids, what else can I say?
I also love the addressing of the cycle of abuse. hunter isn't a pure innocent baby here. he's manipulative and mean and cutthroat. hes a dick! I love him having anger issues because that's how abused kids often are! and I love amity backsliding! I love amity going tunnel vision! I love how realistic and painful the whole episode is!
they're just kids, man. you can tell the crew wanted this to be realistic and they succeeded.
I don't know which I like more. they're both just so GOOD.
(ask me things!)

I haven't watched Hannibal and have no real interest in doing so but god I want to fully understand the au for this most recent post of yours so I can appropriately flip my shit over it. Is Dream human in it, like Hannibal? Or do we get some extreme level monsterfucker Hob? Dream being something that just wears the face of a man to go unnoticed?
Honestly, I haven't thought about it that deeply yet, but now that you ask... it could go like this:
after Dream escapes from Burgess, he does not change for the better - he becomes worse, darker, more violent. He feels drawn to Hob still, and Hob has waited for him to come back and is therefore very happy.
The thing with Hannibal is, he is a manipulating psychopath who is very charming but utterly without mercy or empathy, unless he likes someone. You wouldn't be able to tell though, from the outside. He wears a perfectly harmless person suite, is nice and attentive. And he will try and foster your worst and, as he sees it, "truest" nature.
Just like that, Dream is now Nightmare, but it doesn't initially show on the outside. Lucienne has an inkling and Death is worried but Hob is oblivious in the beginning how dark Dream has truly turned.
He wants revenge, and just having sent Alex and Paul to eternal nightmares isn't enough. He uses Hob to burn down Fawny Rig and proceeds to manipulate him into increasingly violent acts against all who ever visited that place. Dream secretly sends the Corinthian after Hob (like in Shiizakana, where Hannibal tests Will with Randall Tier) who manages to subdue the nightmare and Dream grows even fonder of Hob, having successfully proven his capability for murder. They hunt down Ethel and her son together and afterwards Hob starts having doubts, when he sees Dream's face bathed in the red glow of his ruby, victorious and clearly different from the times they met before. When Dream says that they will now have to kill a vortex, which turns out to be a young woman, Hob is not having it. His stranger was never this cruel, would never have fostered such violent tendencies in Hob before... He then starts to put the pieces together and tries to form a plan to stop Nightmare from growing more insane.
Or sth. LOL I came up with this as I wrote it, so idk if it will become more than one or two more sketches. I fear to start writing something new atm. I don't even know how it could end in a positive way, because Hannibal sure doesn't, even if it is very poetic and heart-wrenching.
But I do also like to simply put those two in scenes from the Hannibal series and cast them as psychopath and FBI agent in a human au, which is how this started.

Tzekel-Kan!! Anon, you got me thinking about this man again. He's one of the villains I completely forget about, but when I'm reminded of him, I remember that I n e e d some fanfic for that bastard. And Slashing, the gifs you used for him, have made me realize why I find him attractive/find his design so appealing.
Well, for starters, the animation in the movie is god-tier. Just look at how smoothly every character moves! And not just their bodies, but their accessories, their hair, all of it!! And on Tzekel-Kan, with his more evil sneers and plotting looks, this animation REALLY brings him to life!!
Slashing, you already mentioned it, but I'm gonna say I again. He's got very nice arms. I also really love how the bridge of his nose looks and flows into his skull. Idk why I'm drawn to that, but it really makes his face paint stand out more too.
Another thing I love about him that I only noticed when I saw your gifs is the fact that his gums aren't left out of his mouth. I know it can be difficult to show all the features of a mouth in animation, but I've rarely seen a movie/show where they did that, and it's usually used on villains/threatening characters (either that or I just haven't been paying attention). Tzekel-Kan falls under the villain category, but seeing his gums while he snarled got me really excited XD
Also when he was controlling the jaguar statue, I just loved the moments where he moves like the jaguar (*cough* love Mr some feral men, even though this technically isn't him going feral he's just controlling an animal statue *cough*)
His charisma! I just- you can tell he loves doing his job XDD but I also like how it isn't some case where 'villain knows the truth and uses the lie to control people'. Tzekel-Kan genuinely believes in the gods. And it's the protagonist king that doesn't believe (or at least isn't so overly religious). I know there are plenty of villains who genuinely believe in their gods, but I live how Tzekel-Kan is one of them, AND he genuinely gets a kick out of what he does. He's a cruel man who worships his deities.
There's no doubt more I love about him, but I'm gonna have to re-watch the film to be able to TRULY gush about him. Soooo you're probably gonna get another ask about him later from me XD
Calling Tzekal-Kan Anon!!
Okay- I'd like to admit that I am not attracted Tzekal Kan 😅 I love him as a villain and from a nostalgic point of view, but he's actually one of the few villains along with Frollo that I'm not into.
HOWEVER- you guys are raising some seriously good points XDDD The gums especially is interesting to me too!! It is rare, you're right.
And anon- your mind. Oh my goodness. XD That mini fic hot me like a truck! XD

episode that you love?
im only on season four but i've got a couple of faves so far:
1x21 'three stories': it's practically law that i have to include this. absolute classic of an episode. i love the format, i love the backstory we get, and i especially love the med students!! they were fun and i hope they come back at some point. probably not but im still holding out hope. teacher!house was great to see too, and the deep-dive into his backstory is so delightfully painful and heart-wrenching,,, oughgh
2x07 'hunting': very fun episode!! "what, because you're a closet case?" absolutely killed me the first time i watched it. get their asses lmao. also we get to see steve mcqueen (my beloved <3) and cameron on meth - fun times!
2x15 'clueless' and 2x16 'safe': mainly for the hilson roommates subplot tbf, but the cases were interesting too! these eps also had a lot of funny moments, like wilson sawing through house's cane and the whole tick debacle lmao
3x02 'cane & able': where do i start with this one. first of all the awful cgi hallucinations were fucking hilarious, i was so fucking confused tho. like the whole time i was just going helllo???? aliens????? great stuff. the rest case itself was really fun too!! and this is the one where we get the infamous "i was worried that your wings would melt" speech. oughghgh top tier content right there.
3x04 'lines in the sand': controversial take right here. this is the infamous autism episode. the way they handled it was. well. it was 2006. so. the case itself was interesting too, but the main highlight for me is the autistic house moments <3 and look. i KNOW wilson says house doesn't actually have autism. but MASKING EXISTS, WILSON!! you can pry this headcanon out of my cold dead hands. i support autism rights but i also support autism wrongs or however the meme goes. more people should get to be autistic and jerks i think <3 (saying all this as a guy who most likely has autism btw. i havent got an official diagnosis but uhhhh yeah it's Likely.)
3x07 'son of coma guy': hilson road trip! plus coma guy ig. but mainly hilson road trip :) i love them.
4x02 'the right stuff': i love love love the whole gameshow-esque thing house starts. we get to see some great characters (amber! kutner! dobson my beloved!!!!), and it's just all round a bit of fun. love it.
4x05 'mirror mirror': another fun one!! the mirror syndrome guy gives us a lot of fun insights into the applicant's personalities, i thought that was a really fun way of showing it rather than have a million expositions about each of them lol. also the banter was fun this episode, especially between house, wilson and cuddy. also we find out that wilson is more dominant than house and that kutner's a masochist. great fuel for fic writers. fun!
4x12 'don't ever change': ohohhoo i love this one. the case was alright but the best bit abt it imo was the house, wilson and amber dynamic. i love this trio so fucking much you don't understand,,, i honestly think we should've got poly wilson/amber/house. just think abt it... house and amber friendly rivalry... teaming up to bully wilson... and also amber and wilson bullying house together... would it be a little dysfunctional? yes. but that's to be expected in this show lmao. idk why this turned into a pitch for these three i just love them very very much <3
4x13 'no more mr. nice guy': again for the wilson/amber/house dynamic. this one is very fun i love their custody dispute over wilson, and the dog analogy was very funny to me. and cuddy making house and amber do coma patient duty lmao. AND bisexual thirteen!! love her <3
i haven't actually gotten to the last couple episodes of s4 yet because uhhhh Bad Things Happen and i am delaying the inevitable. send help. but i am sure they are very good and will probably make this list once i get around to watching them!
honourable mentions include 2x13 'skin deep' (purely for the scene where house is in the mri machine and wilson pretends to be god lol), 3x22 'resignation' (for the wilson on amphetamines scene. "i'm not on antidepressants, i'm on speeeeeeeed!" gets me every fucking time) and 4x01 'alone' (house and wilson prank war!!!)
soooo yeah those are my favourites :) and i'm sure there'll be a lot more once i finish the rest of the show but like i said i am Procrastinating lmao
thanks for the ask my friend!

On the Run
This episode broke me.
I am...
I....
I am a broken creature & my heart has been thoroughly stomped into the ground.
This is....this is the best episode so far....but it's achieved the status of best by absolutely tearing me apart in every way & leaving my emotions as a pile of tear soaked dust.
Okay before we get to that: I have one thing to say....
GARNET HAS MASSIVE AND PLENTIFUL BALLS. Look this post ended up being a lot more personal & emotional than this blog usually has been so I'm giving you a balls joke to balance it out. I have a feeling that there will be more emotional venting if this episode is an indicator of what the rest of the show is like: we're gonna need all the dick & ball jokes we can muster up.
Tumblr media
First off: easily the best musical number in the show so far. Yes even better than Pearl's solo number. And I do not say that lightly. That is a tough level to beat. And they did it. Steven & Amethyst take the gold medal for best song so far. 👌
ALSO OH MY GOD THESEE SHOTS THESE COLOURS THIS DJFJFNDIFJW ITS SO FUCKING GOOD????????
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHY DID SO MANY PEOPLE ON YOUTUBE TELL ME THIS SHOW HAS BAD ANIMATION WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT ARE WE WATCHING THE SAME SHOW?????? SURE THERES BEEN SOME WONKY DRAWINGS BUT MOST OF IT HAS BEEN VISUAL GOD TIER SHIT LIKE THIS. This episode was actually quite a step up in the animation compared to the previous ones. It's like the animators stepped on the gas here. I love it.
(Hey there uh so Trigger warning for this post just in case bc I do mention the topics of self harm/self hate/passive suic*de & that kinda stuff. So if that's not your thing, I'm really sorry & I understand if you wanna just stop reading here. If this isn't a topic you like to see mentioned at all, I'll just summarize my opinion here real quick & you can click away, I'm happy you're here at all btw thanks for reading this far!! & I want you to know you're valid for feeling this way btw: Don't let anyone tell you different. Anyways tldr I love this episode & how it tackles Amethysts character & it's the best episode so far & it made me cry really really bad & I am more of an emotional mess now than I usually am.)
Tumblr media
So getting a bit personal here: I have said many times throughout my life that 'I never asked to be born'. I still think it now.
(Side Note but oh my god the animation in this fight was fucking incredible. Holy shit. And these shots go so fucking hard they COOKED this shit to perfection.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ive been depressed & passively suicidal for most of my life. I honestly cannot really recall a time where I didn't feel this way. I'm just kinda used to it by now I guess.
Tumblr media
(This shot. This frame right here. This was when I had to pause the episode to calm down from how bad I was crying.)
So to hear Amethyst say the exact same thing that I have said so many times before: That broke me. That just fucking broke me. And like it's not the first time I cried at this show so far: BUT this IS the first time the show genuinely struck an such an extremely difficult & personal chord with me, not just like being sometihng I relate to, but the chord it struck was deep & painful enough that I had to actually pause the episode because of how much I needed to process it. Like I could not pay attention with how bad it made me break. So yeah it's now score 1 for the amount of times this show has fucking utterly destroyed me. Not every show is able to get me to react like THAT. The only other show in recent memory that got that reaction out of me that I can remember at the time of typing this is well, The Owl House. To be fair I haven't watched too too many new shows but yeah. This got me crying badly enough that I had to take a moment to calm down. Wasn't expecting to have that nerve struck like that.
That just hit on a personal chord for me & just....fuck man. I know that feeling. And they nailed how it feels. Amethysts reaction was exactly how it feels for me, just outwardly anger & tears. It hurts. Obviously anger & crying is simplifying it a lot, it's a lot more than just baseline that but you get what I mean. You could tell that she was feeling that exact way. & holy shit the fact that she's been the "comedic relief" of the gems so far & yet she's had easily the most fucked up & sad backstory of the show so far. Yeah if catching me off guard & completely blindsiding me with this was the goal: Goal fucking achieved because that was like a whack to my fucking face with a frying pan.
So....like, is this gonna be a reoccuring thing? I just.....get the feeling that this is a sign that the show absolutely fucking me up emotionally may become a more frequent thing going forward. So like, if that is the case......fuck. I'm so fucked. I am going to be a fucking wreck by the end of this show. This is gonna fucking leave me a sobbing mess, isn't it? What the fuck have I gotten myself into-
Tumblr media
I am afraid. Also I am going to need to buy more tissues.
And the scene where Pearl & Amethyst speak in the hole is some of the best writing in any CN show. Ever.
(Also to break up the depressing talk, OH MY GOD I LOVE THAT PEARL IS SO FUCKING TALL THAT SHE HAS TO BEND DOWN AND SIT STANDING UP ON HER TIPPY TOES. THAT'S SO FUCKING ADORABLE I LOVE HER I AM GOING TO FUCKING LOSE IT.)
Tumblr media
This episode was absolutely perfect.

THOUGHTS ON THE FINALE OF PRETTY LITTLE LIARS ORIGINAL SIN!!!!
*SPOILERS* if you haven't watched the last few episodes yet you've been warned
*TW/CW- mature/sensitive content in this post
I am literally still processing everything but:
Was I the only one who thought the Liars' plan with the blood drive was actually kind of creative?
Ohhh the principal rejecting Tabby's film had me SEETHING. I should have known from that scene he'd be the one behind it all/pulling the strings.
Going back and rewatching the scene where Chip tries to ask Imogen if she wants to go to his place for Thanksgiving is now very uncomfortable. Thank god she had Tabby and her mom!! And that's on the tabogen agenda.
I honestly thought Shawn was going to be a part of the A stuff or the guy who assaulted Tabby and Imogen but he was not. If we get a season 2 though, I'm keeping an eye on him. No offense Noa- but he lied about the pills/drugs. Like I wonder if he really was telling the truth when he said later that he threw them out.
The club scene!! Iconic, but the rational part of my brain also was like "Yes Faran good suggestion- WAIT THEY'RE MINORS THEY SHOULD NOT BE OUT CLUBBING"
When Kelly(?) "said call me Karen" to Greg- HUHHH?
I knew Crazy Joe wasn't A
It felt too much like a red herring to me- too obvious
The Waters' house did give me AHS Murder House vibes- they really nailed the creepy vibe with the set
Yess finally I’m so glad they got the moms to talk about Angela- also the fact that each mom's situation with Angela paralleled the daughters in the present
Noa saying "I can't handle juggling two addicts in my life" SWEETIE no :(((((
FARAN LETTING HER HAIR DOWN!!
I'm glad Henry told Faran about Kelly kissing him and didn't keep it a secret. Maybe there is one decent man on this show??
Also Ben Cook heyyy good for him getting those roles!
Ash just eating the pizza instead of directly answering Mouse's mom HAHA
Tabby's mom going OFF on Wes like that!!!
Faran going off on Sheriff Beasley!! QUEEN!
We got to see Imogen’s dad, interesting.
**The fact that he mentioned that Imogen’s mom stated in her will for Imogen to live with the Haworthes if anything bad happened though- TABOGEN WAS FATED!
Honestly the whole Beasley family situation was really sad- and like the fact that there are some families like this in real life- it was really giving me Melanie Martinez Dollhouse vibes for sure.
Oh I see Kelly x Faran as a potential headcanon.
Oh damn. It was Chip.
The whole scene when Imogen and Tabby confronted Chip though?Wow. Top tier acting from Bailee and Chandler. Powerful.
"This year has made us very, very good liars" ICONIC!
OMG THE FINAL EPISODE THOUGH HHHHHH
So much went DOWN!!
I'm still in shock with A doing that to Davie's body though- Tabby asking if Imogen was okay "Nope. Definitely not"
IMOGEN ADAMS DESERVES THE ENTIRE WORLD!! Fuck A for giving her life long trauma!
Not Angela's brother being named Archie- STOP WITH THE R*VERD*LE REFERENCES
IT WAS THE PRINCIPAL!!!! That was a good twist, I appreciate it.
Omg Kelly's mom stabbing Sheriff Beasley though was another twist I did not see coming.
1000000000+ points for adding a Motley Crue song in there!!
I absolutely LOVED the moment when the rest of the girls immediately stood up when the principal threatened to shoot Imogen and her baby- RIDE OR DIES FOR EACH OTHER YES
**THE FIGHT SCENE WITH IMOGEN AND A!!
MAKING CINEMATIC HISTORY
The camera angles in this show- absolutely DELICIOUS
Tabby being there when Imogen woke up in the hospital GO TABOGEN GO
The scene where everyone was celebrating Christmas together 🥺🥺 (every other ship kissing and then TABOGEN pls SEASON 2 SO WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!)
Also why did I know someone was going to say Die Hard when Tabby asked about favorite Christmas movies and why did it fit Shawn perfectly-
Aww Elodie and Shirley saying they're going to couples therapy GOOD FOR THEM!! (technically they ALL need it lol)
Interesting way to bring back some original PLL with that Aria and Ezra mention.. but when that baby finds out that her parents were in a student teacher relationship-
Overall glad that all those nasty men were EXPOSED. Especially the principal and Sheriff Beasley. Still wondering about Wes though. If there's a season 2 I'm keeping an eye on him too.
So Kelly was Kelly the whole time- I like that there’s a possibility that she stays friends with the Liars in the future- but like what if it’s still Karen? I wanna believe it’s Kelly and that Kelly is good but still.
And finally, Imogen saying she thinks it’s over
But A killed Sheriff Beasley AND came back for Chip-
When I first heard about this show, I was skeptical at first and didn't have many expectations going into it. I never watched the very first Pretty Little Liars series in its entirety, but this spinoff somehow managed to pull me in. Thank you PLLOS Original Sin for everything! What an amazing cast and show. I would definitely recommend this show to others.
SEASON 2, SEASON 2, SEASON 2

Hi Annie! I hope you are doing well, being an awesome doctor and making people feel better!
I just realized that I have not been sending you Chibi updates for months. So here he is!
Tumblr media
I edited Chibi with a beach background cause the weather here in the Philippines is very hot and humid, even the students have half-day classes to avoid nosebleeds from the heat. 🤕
Hope you are eating well and staying safe.⛑️
Also, I just wanna ask if you have any tv series or movie recommendations that have badass characters and romance that could make me go "Oh damn! (but respectfully)."
hi love! he's looking devilishly handsome as ever <3 Thanks for the update!
As for TV recs... I don't know what to tell you bestie, I have no patience for streaming services these days 😓 I guess Bridgerton, especially Queen Charlotte, is always a safe, cozy romance show if you haven't watched it yet. I have three Turkish series recs that I'm living for (they're basically the only thing I watch)
1- Adim Farah: it's a romantic/ crime drama about a cleaning lady with an adorable immunocompromised child, who witnesses a murder and gets tangled up in mafia troubles. There's this criminal lord who falls in love with her. It's excellent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2- Gülcemal: starts out as a dark (more like gray IMO) romance, strong Beauty and the Beast vibes. It's about a man who goes back to his hometown to take revenge on his evil mother, and ends up becoming obsessed with a woman who happens to be the evil mother's new protégé. Absolutely unhinged hate-to-love trope. I love this show so much.
Tumblr media
3- Destan: a historical drama/ romance with great political intrigue. It tells the story of a warrior who fights for her tribe and steals from the unjust Khanate to give to the poor. Also, she has a very sweet story going on with one of the princes (aka the son of the man that killed her father). Akkiz is a god-tier badass female protagonist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
idk if any of those fit your criteria, but they're so much fun. I hope you check out at least one of them 😘

hello best friend please do the series ask thingy for doctor who and star trek because obviously okay love you bye
thank u for giving me permission to ramble. love you <333333
Doctor Who (answering this for classic, new and EU)
Favorite character: Romana. Literally who else could it be? I watched City of Death when I was 12 and I imprinted on her so quickly and I only got more attached to her in the EU. I support women's wrongs and I hope she gets some therapy sometime.
Second favorite character: uhhhhh Doctor Who has so many god tier characters but I have to go with Bernice Summerfield. Aside from her being the original iconic bisexual time travelling archaeologist, she's genuinely one of the most interesting and complex characters. She's also a disaster (relatable)
Least favorite character: I try my best to like all of the main characters (or at least find them narratively interesting) but I have a grudged against Sam Jones from the EDAs. If I met her in real life I would probably like her but I got sick of her pretty quickly in the books. I know she's meant to be a bit annoying sometimes and that's part of her character but... I'm sorry I just don't like her. (However Sam in Unnatural History.... amazing, great, showstopping.)
The character I'm most like: as much as I'd like to think that I'm cool let's be real I'm most like Nyssa (quiet, likes science, etc) but at least my planet hasn't been destroyed yet
Favorite pairing: Doctor/TARDIS. It's the ship ship what more do you want me to say?
Least favorite pairing: I'm a ship and let ship sort of person but the swathes of Ten/Rose fic I've filtered through to get to more interesting stuff has permanently put me off
Favorite moment: 12's speech to Missy in The Doctor Falls permanently changed my life
Rating out of 10: 1000000/10 i don't know who i would be without Doctor Who
Star Trek (answering for all shows)
Favorite character: Seven of Nine. Listen she's such a good character and I haven't been able to stop thinking about her in months. She's queer, she's got the autistic swag, she's got a traumatic backstory, truly all of my favorite things in a character
Second favorite character: ooooh so many good options but currently Sisko (yes I am rewatching the Dominion War arc in ds9 why do you ask?)
Least favorite character: again I don't enjoy disliking characters but I'm not a huge fan of snw!Chapel (or snw!Spock for that matter)
The character I'm most like: realistically Jake Sisko
Favorite pairing: currently Seven/Raffi
Least favorite pairing: again ship and let ship but I'm not a fan of Spock/Chapel in Strange New Worlds
Favorite moment: I mean... Far Beyond the Stars as a whole episode but particularly the last scene of Benny Russell having a breakdown which... it's just such a good scene on so many levels
Rating out of 10: warp 10/10 🦎🦎🦎

I'm cautiously optimistic about Loki getting his time to shine this season. Could be totally wrong, but it kinda feels like things are leading up to some kind of moment for him. Like these little hints that don't seem like much alone, but add up and make you go "hmmm".
Pretty much nothing has leaked for the remaining episodes, but a scooper that r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers rates as Tier 1 ("Approved and Reliable") teased a scene from the trailers:
This scene in particular👌 Behold the power of the God of Mischief (and the return of the iconic horns and cape)
(We can also see Loki wearing the horns and what looks like a hooded cloak from behind in one of the posters.) We'll have to wait and see if what they say is actually true and, if it is, how godly does he get to be? Like, at this point I don't even need something over-the-top, but to finally get anything where Loki gets to really show that there's no denying that he's a powerful god? Hell yeah, I'll take it. I'll still judge Marvel for taking too damn long to make it happen, but I'll take it. Give. It. To. Me.
I'm loving the optimism and I hope you're right. Come to think of it, we haven't seen him in all his glory since Ragnarok. (Well, we saw him with his helmet, cape, horns then but he hasn't shown his magic since TDW.)
Classic Loki got to show off last season so it's only right if TVA Loki is given the same treatment.
You know I'm not watching this season but I saw a video the other day and he seems to be able to control shadows now? I don't know but I saw this 👇
Tumblr media
I'll admit that is a pretty cool power to have, so something similar to that would be nice. Like a glow-up of him with his helmet, his cape and his magic doing something meaningful like saving someone from an attack or just him facing a powerful being and completely obliterating him would be great. Just a Loki wearing his damn suit, please. It shouldn't be too much to ask.

Hi Fi, I hope you've been doing well since I last checked in. Pardon the Big Chat, but I just got caught up on some posts I had missed and figured it'd be better to just react to them all in one go.
I am so stoked to see you like Bungo Stray Dogs! My freshman year of college, my suitemate got me into it and we watched probably the first three episodes before her evening class. Lovecraft deserved way more screen time and I don't understand why he isn't the same threat level as Q when the whole point of the Cthulu-mythos is contact with it will drive you insane. Chuuya is god-tier husbando material. He's a good bad boy, a half-good, half-bad, half boy. The pretty red hair, sharp blue eyes, the choker and body harness, we're really eating like Queens. I'm an Akutagawa girly myself. I can't help but love him even though his narrow-minded approach kills me a bit. Have you read the Beast spin off?
Also I gotta know, is Lysandre a black-coffee supremist? We already know that cafe is bougie af. And I know the jealous hybrid!Larry thing was meant to be hot, but I can't help but think of him doing that squat/leg warmup thing he does in-game before going off on whoever was being too friendly with his mate.
And God, I can't imagine telling Cyllene about Cyrus, or having to explain what drove him to do such a thing. On one hand Cyrus always had a hard time understanding and interacting with the world around him, especially in terms of emotions and subjectivity. But he was also abused and lacked any proper emotional-support and companionship, all while being placed under extreme pressure to succeeed in all things until he broke. So, a tender-hearted wish for the world to be easier to live in got misguided into a desire for a world without emotion and attachment.
I like to play with the idea of being his little sister. So for me it'd be me telling my great-great-something grandmother that I'm her (and Laventon's via Surveyshipping) descendant, and at some point their legacy and values got misconstrued, leading to my parents being so abusive that my brother went rouge. Cue Grandpa Lav crying and Granny Cyllene being silently ready to beat someone's ass.
High Five Anon
I think I got into Bungou like in my last semester of high school/right after graduating. Then I dragged my poor friend into it lol. Lovecraft, sadly, can't get too much screen time because he's a little too OP. I mean he literally died and regenerated. I think his ability's relation about madness is shown when Q attacks him since he kinda scared them by showing them his "insanity" or whatever. He's not a threat because he isn't like commonly hostile and seems more reclusive/sleeping most of the time. I Still Think He Should Return In The Current Arc. He'd Win.
Chuuya literally hit all my unfortunate pretty boy notes that usually lands me a husband. The fact his voice actor is a singer too is really cute to think about, because I like to imagine Chuuya sings for that reason lol. My friend like Akutagawa at first, then she's like latched on to Kunikida and is Obsessed. I haven't read Beast, but I really should. I really want to, but I keep forgetting lmao
Lysandre almost certainly screams black coffee guy. He probably doesn't even offer cream or sugar in his café and asking for some gets you thrown out.
shhsjd actually the Larry thing was meant to be funny lol. But he has to do the squat thing or he'll pull something and that will be bad. Responsible bird man.
I really, really think Cyllene of all people would want to help him. He is her descendant, and she's obviously a lot more soft-hearted than she lets on. She's a bit motherly towards the teens in her unit, so I don't doubt she'd be that way with Cyrus if she ever met him/he ended up in Hisui. I should probably write more on Cyrus in Hisui because I do wish to explore more of the possibilities of what would happen should they ever meet proper.

Moon Lovers is so good SO good can't believe none of you really Really told me (I'm kidding u told Me I'm So Grateful right now!!! I just didn't realize HOW my cup of tea it would Be, especially when it sounded so mushy romance i did not expect THIS solid thing)
Like you told me. But yall said it was flawed and messy and kinda too romantic for my tastes yall lied (I say this affectionately I appreciate yall deeply for putting it on my radar ToT, I just didn't realize it was going to be THIS to my taste I thought it was gonna be fluff weak slow potential like The King's Affection... instead it's ACTION romance Grounded but also Dramatic FAST solid Characterization, all things I eat up!!! I love it!!!)
It helps so many of the actors are strong. The lead actress is one of my faves. The lead emo boy is SO good at selling intense emotions on screen I can feel the longing and I'm sold on that romantic thread. IU is also god tier at selling emotional weight, even here. She's probably the BEST I've seen so far of an actor portraying a time traveler in a way I can both relate to (in that survival is her goal after realizing she can't return to her mother, attaching to this life's cousin as family and truly caring about her Like family, seeing 8th prince as safe and the closest to family left, wanting to do her own life and make her own choices and Try to have some self determination in this life and her choices rather than the plot Only happening to her. While it does Happen to her (and that's whete the story tropes feel most blatantly relied on - but they at least make sense as things realistic in this kind of story to happen so I so far have found them fine), she reacts in a very "okay what can I Do about it" way. When she's being married off, she chooses to run away before princes help. She chooses to go to the Emperor to protect the princes, instead of running. She hears 8th and 4th prince fail to help her, so decides Herself to scar herself since she learned the king won't marry a scarred woman. While plot is Happening to her, the writing also let's her show she's paying attention to what she can use, and taking action when she thinks it's possible, with the major moments controlled by her actions. I like that a lot. I haven't watched JPLH in a while, but plot setup they're very similar. But I feel the heroine in JPLH often finds herself at the mercy of plots against her with little time to hear and react herself (which while I don't prefer it - I still found enjoyable in how JPLH was overall so it didn't detract to me). The 4th prince again SO good now I wanna watch EVERYTHING he's in (as I didn't expect him to be strong in this like he was in the more recent Flower of Evil). Also I highly recommend Hotel Del Luna for IU (which shows she can play a dark heavy emotional immortal... which that range of hers no doubt helps Soo be such a grounded feeling character instead of one note innocent only, we see she was bitter and hopeless and angry and fought her ex before she comes to the past, we know she's not an innocent fool she's just appearing that way as a fish out of water to the past she isn't sure how to navigate correctly in).
The 8th prince is a much better actor than I expected (and his wife was phenomenal she made me cry). He's so good i am nearly as invested in him and Soo even though I don't want tjem to be endgame, and if he turns evil God it will hurt. I finished ep 6 and Soo wondering which prince will kill tje others, when they're all her friends now. And how cold her expression was, like she was locking on a mask to bear it while underneath she's afraid and already fearing grieving. I can only imagine this watching as it aired, loving most of the princes as sweet friends of hers overall, 8th and 4th prince both fond of her and kind to her now, and very afraid (just like Soo) of if one of them will betray her and all their other brothers. Afraid of the pain and bloodshed to come. Of all these sweet smiling faces that will be gone. Of Soos future pain (and all of theirs) no matter what. Of the weight of this being set In The Past, meaning Soo knows one prince WILL kill the others. It's history, in a way it's already happened in the future she's from. And so its a inevitability hurtling horrifying towards them.
Please no spoilers, I'm excited and watching without knowing anything before hand lol!

Hey, how are you doing? How was your day? <3
Just came here for asking about your inspiration for Second Serpent and some sci-fi book recs if you have any. I'm in dire need for those, so I figured if I'd like to read something like your story the best thing is coming to you for some recommendation hehe.
Well, hello there! My day yesterday was fab and my day today is also fab (and so, so lazy).
Honestly, I'mma have to disappoint you. I'm not a huge sci-fi reader. Science fantasy/cosmic horror is more in my wheelhouse, and even then, a lot of my favorite inspirations are movies and television shows. I do not read nearly as much as I should these days (unless you include Hannibal fanfic and webtoons, god help me).
Here are some science-fiction/science-fantasy works that I can credit for giving me Second Serpent inspiration. Typically, they'll include soft "magic" systems that are somehow that are explored through science and experimentation, and probably some horror elements too.
Evangelion (anime): One of the first animes I ever watched (6th/7th grade), and instantly a favorite of mine that I still revisit today. It felt like Hideaki Anno had reached into my brain and pulled out all the stuff I liked at the time, then spread it all out for me to see. Post-apocalyptic world, kaiju, occult references, existential dread, aliens, haunting visuals, etc. Honestly, I should not have been watching Eva at such a young age, but it was EXACTLY the kind of media I craved.
Arcane (animated): I was told by a friend that Arcane might be a comp title for Second Serpent WHICH IS THE HIGHEST HONOR, FRANKLY. This show's got a plot almost entirely driven by its fantastic characters. It's got tiered cities, political gameplaying, developing technology, etc. Seriously its one of the best things I've ever watched so if you haven't seen it, check it out.
The Dark Tower Series (novels): ...I have a beef with how Stephen King writes women. That being said, I started reading this series in 6th grade (again, way too young), and it absolutely floored me. Basically, a "gunslinger" (read knight, read warrior, read academic) is on a mission to find the Dark Tower, the source of life and stability in all universes. Something is very wrong with it-- like, "decaying universes like the Nothing from Neverending Story" wrong. It's destroyed Roland's home world, and he intends to either reverse what has happened or stop it from happening further. I LOVE how this series portrays time-space anomalies. We've got doorways into other worlds, a cool take on fate and destiny, and really engaging characters (for the most part). Eddie Dean is my love.
The first three are great and they go downhill from there, sadly (except Wolves of Calla... that book is dope).
Even Horizon (movie): I only mention this one because it's been on the brain lately. It's not an excellent movie, but it's Hellraiser in space, and tells a story about what happens when we fuck with tech we don't understand. I honestly think about this movie a little too much.
Gosh I could list so many others. Another place you might look for inspiration or good stories are indie horror games, which usually have cool sci-fi elements. I'm thinking Iron Lung, Human, Discover My Body... I dunno. I could go on forever.
I'M ENDING THIS POST NOW.

Any anime recommendations?(besides mha)
OOF
Funny enough I don't even recommend the MHA anime LOL. Anyway.
My taste is pretty basic, not gonna lie. I doubt anything I can recommend knowing what I'm recommending is anything most people haven't seen. But I will do my best.
Just anime? Or manga too? 😭
Here is my list of current and completed series, but it's mostly, if not all, manga. I recommend pretty much everything on those lists (otherwise I wouldn't have/wouldn't be currently spending time on them 🌝).
But, since you said anime, I'll just stick with the anime I know are good (imo).
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood <-------the Brotherhood is very important. I really fucking hate the first anime and don't know why it even exists tbh. BROTHERHOOD. Also, I highly recommend the English dub. Usually, I don't. But for this particular anime the English dub cast was top tier (a lot of them are in the BNHA dub actually..though I still prefer bnha sub) and idk, it just really gets the story across really well with the English cast.
Fruits Basket: 2019 <------there are two Fruits Basket anime. The first one from 2001 stops at volume 6 (out of 23 total 😬) and has a shitty ending. The remake created in 2019 covers the whole story (well, most of it). However, if you want a good laugh, the 2001 version English dub is....hilarious. I will give it that. It's fucking hilarious. If you just want to laugh and not take it too seriously, just watch like the first half of the 2001 series in English lmao. For the 2019 I personally recommend the Japanese cast, because they used the same cast from the 2001 series and it doesn't fit the dark tone of the actual full storyline. That's just my preference though. Also, this is a love story at its core. The kind of love story that gives you butterflies lol.
Ouran High School Host Club: Oh how I wish this one would get the Fruits Basket treatment and get a remake covering the entire story. But alas. The anime is fun, it's goofy, it's ridiculous. But it's insanely popular for a reason. This anime literally has the same English cast as FMAB, so I recommend either/or, Japanese or English. It's great both ways. (this is a love story also, but unfortunately the anime doesn't capture that)
**fun fact, the first three listed here are all women creators :)
K Project: This one is really good, and is better as an anime because that was what it was first, before being broken down into different manga series (which I also recommend). There are segments to the anime though, it goes K Project (first season)---> K: Missing Kings (a movie that bridges the two seasons and is necessary)---> K: Return of Kings (season 2)---> K: Seven Stories (dives into different characters' pasts--because big cast). If you like shows with big casts where all of them get focus, and there's a ton of shit going on all at once that all meets at one endpoint, then this is the series for you. Warning though, unfortunately there are two fan service characters you have to stomach through. It's not so god awful it can't be ignored, but it's annoying at best. But again, it's not prevalent enough to take away from the whole series.
Durarara!!: I mean this one is old and it's insanelyyyyy popular. I prefer the manga, 100x more than the anime due to how confusing the anime gets with the storyline, but many many people like the anime for what it is. And I do too, as it's entertaining as fuck. There is also a second series called Durarara!! x2, which is basically a sequel (both series follow the manga, just....out of order), and Drrr!!x2 has 3 seasons within itself. But this series is good. I'm reading it currently and fucking LOVING it. The anime is super fun and ridiculous in a good way, highly recommend. This one is super unique. It has a large cast and several different POVs (the manga is split up into series covering the different POVs), and there aren't really any side characters, as pretty much everyone plays a decently relevant role in all of the story's conflicts. There are only 4 characters who seem to dominate above the rest of the cast, and they aren't even technically the main protagonists (anyone who knows this series probably knows who these characters are lolol)
Charlotte: idk if there is a manga but I watched the anime and it slapped. It's like 20 something episodes, it's fun, has conflict, lots of emotions, and a pretty decent conclusion.
Darker Than Black: this is pretty much just an anime. It has two seasons. It's been years since I watched it, and I've been meaning to rewatch it ASAP, but this one also is insanely good.
Silver Spoon: I'm planning to read the manga for the full story, but the anime was fun. It's a good breather from tons of action if you're needing something light hearted. ***same author/creator as FMAB :)
Death Note: highly recommend, but....most people have seen or read this LOL
