I am very tired and have had an exhaustive like. 48 hours and the car ride from ktown to sauga is an STRUGGLE and it's 1am and I'm TIRED but I HAVE to share the STRUGGLE CS chapter 23/24 is bc like okay. Shit is about to go down. Y'all have read the og probably for the most part, so WE ALL BE KNOW SHIT IS ABOUT TO GO DOWN. But I'm having a crisis because like. Okay like. I can't remember the OG end versus the present end, but when I rewrote my notes like. I added a whole new scene and went this makes more sense in 23 than 24 since that's the one where SHIT GOES DOWN right? Right ok cool so split it here there we go

Then I write the chp 24 notes, and suddenly, wait no this makes more sense in 24 now, this new scene, instead of in 23, shit fuck shit

So then I spend an hour flipping between the two pages like hmm....hmmmm... Just rotating when to end 23 and start 24 in my brain, briefly go MY GOD MAYBE I NEED A CHAPTER BETWIXT THESE TWO (and then get my feathers ruffled because then it's 31 chapters instead of a nice 30?????????)

AND I GET ALL PERPLEXED ONLY TO REALIZE THAT THE REASON THIS IS ALL SO LIKE. HARD TO PROCESS IS BECAUSE ALL THIS HAPPENS IN A D A Y

i saw mr sam lastname at the local mcdonalds asking dor two bts meals it was really cool

First impression: hmmmm. im trying to remember. i remember i first got introduced to sammy macks by bucky and the first image i saw of sam was the cake wedding topper and i thought he was so so cool that he was a gay married dog. also i can't remember if i mentioned this but i literally first started getting into sam and max before the first official vr announcement and fhats what convinced me to stay

Impression now: i LOVE this gay married dog so much. hes so cool i love him for having a big noir/detective interest because its what started getting me really to look into pulp covers and noir history and i really love that fact

Favorite moment: all time favorite sam moments are all of the noir sam dialogue from 303 which isnt surprising but i think i also really like the conversation he has between charlie ho tep in 304 where he realizes hes a player character and a lot of his actions aren't his own and it's genuinely such a good way to draw player characters away from the player and really let them be their own person

Idea for a story: not really sam centric but its not like he wasn't essential but it was basically how noir max could be possible if you really fuck with the timelines and bend canon a little. i tried writing it out but it was way too over ambitious so i never got past the intro scene but i might have a thread on it somewhere on my priv :P

Unpopular opinion: one more thing. mmm actually two more. one. skinny sam is the bane of my existence you people don't even want men over 200 💔💔💔

two. i think sam being the straight man in the relationship is way too overplayed in snm fanon and in part i think its because i was analyzing season 3 like a mad man 24/7 at the height of my hyperfixation but his entire character arc there was realizing how hes been played as a relatively blank slate (even then thats kind of far to say because he still has a lot of personality showing through) and learning to take control of things for himself and taking the players control away from him which is SO heavily undervalued as a part of his story. i could go on about this for fucking ever but this is already really long

Favorite relationship: bnuy

Favorite headcanon: its my own i just really like the idea of max being the one to teach sam to play poker and sam developing his style of play over time from what he learned from max because of how max appeared first in pn rather than sam
