Hey, I’d love some more roleplay partners on discord. I’m 22F looking for some 19+ partners. I would like to do doubles (or just one plot) involving any of the following fandoms— Game of Thrones, the Society, Skins UK, Shameless US, Gossip Girl, Outer Banks, American Horror Story, and Teen Wolf. There are others too! These are just some rarer ones I’m looking to find, but I’m always happy for some Harry Potter, the Hunger Games, and Marvel for one half of the pairing.

It must be canon/canon or canon/oc (though I’d prefer canon characters). I have a lot of plots at the moment with long replies and I’d really like someone to plot with, chat with, and really just send some quicker/two paragraph replies to. :) I miss writing and I’d like if you’re somewhat active. hi! I’m 22 and I’ve had about 12 years of roleplaying experience. I am currently wanting to get back into writing, so I’m searching for long-term writing partners who are interested in roleplaying doubles!

🚌18M, Looking for 18+ Roleplay Partners!🚌

I’m looking for an MxM ship set within “The Society” from 2019, it could be Canon x My Oc or Oc x My Oc, all characters that are going to be played must be 18!

It was just supposed to be a school trip out of town, but they came back the very night they left and everyone was gone. The roads out of town were overgrown with vegetation but everything inside town was exactly how they left it, just without the people… where did the bus drivers go? How’d they get there? It’s home but at the same time it’s not. My oc, James “Jamie” Matthews was one of the students who came back to the empty town, oddly the power had still be running, so had the water and power, so was the cell service. Eagerly he had texted a boy his was close with, wanting someone to stay the night so he wouldn’t be alone, all of his siblings and parents were gone, but gone where?

We can incorporate anything you’d like into this roleplay! If you want to include the omegaverse sure! There will be NSFW aspects in this roleplay! My oc is a sub/bottom. I’m decently literate, I do between 2-3 Paragraphs per response!

Yokai Hunters Society (2020), by @Punkpadour, is a novel reconfiguring of Nate Treme’s Tunnel Goons. I love the specificity of the theme and the system — this is a game about hunting monsters (and preserving your secret identity) in 1889 Japan. Nothing more, nothing less. If that isn’t what you want to play tonight, you’re going to need a different game.

Four attributes (Courage, Self-Control, Sharpness and Wisdom) with low values — starting characters get four points to spread among them (zero is fine!). Roll 2d6, add the value of the tested attribute, ten and up is a success, nine is mixed, lower is failure. An optional wild card exists in the Cursed Die, which you can roll to add to your check, but if the value of that die exceeds your Curse Resistance, you lose a Curse Resistance point and wind up with a case of bad luck whether you succeed or fail the test. If a character runs out of resistance points, they make all rolls at disadvantage until they cleanse themselves. And that’s it: it’s a straight to the point sort of system.

The trappings are what sell me on the game. I love the idea of yokai hunters. Rather than cartoonish monsters, I feel like yokai have a complexity to them that discourages violent solutions (thematically, this game seems twinned with Vaesen, which delights in putting players and monsters at odds in complex situations with no perfect resolutions). That a character consists primarily of two randomly rolled traits and a unique mask, they tend to be wonderfully evocative while also being wide open for interpretation.

Castles in the Air

I'm extremely excited to announce that the game I've been working on for the past 4 years is coming to Kickstarter! Castles in the Air (CitA) is a tabletop RPG inspired by the novels of Louisa May Alcott and L.M. Montgomery. Players start as children with boundless dreams who will change over the years based on the relationships they form and choices they make. I think it's a really special game, and I'm looking forward to being able to share it with everyone.

For more information or to sign up to be notified when the Kickstarter launches on May 14th, please check out the game's page on the Storybrewers Roleplaying website. If that name sounds familiar, Storybrewers is the company that created Good Society: A Jane Austen RPG. I feel very honored that they reached out to me about publishing Castles in the Air. While Castles in the Air is a standalone game, its mechanics are inspired by Good Society, and if you like Good Society, I think you'll like CitA too as it allows you to tell similarly compelling stories.

I will be creating some blog posts talking about the literary inspirations for different parts of the game in the weeks leading up to the Kickstarter and during its run. I will be using this as a master post to keep track of all of them, so make sure to check back here or follow my blog if you are interested.

The first Yokai Hunters Society zine contains a handful of famous yokai from Japanese folklore. Their details consist of a (cool) illustration, a one paragraph description and a brief listing of abilities. That’s fine for well-known creatures like Kappa, but for a game as narrowly focused on monster hunting as this, players are going to need a lot more monsters, with a lot more detail. Thus, Field Guide to Yokai (2022).

I love a monster book, and this one is no exception. Yokai are fascinating because there is very little about them that is set in stone. There are broad categories, sure, and general behaviors, but you can never be sure what you’re going to get with a specific yokai. They’re inherently individual, and that is sort of unique and delightful for an RPG to embrace.

By Western fantasy standards, they’re also damn strange. A personal favorite, the tsukumogami, illustrates this nicely — if an object of daily use makes it to 100 years of age, it can sometimes awaken as a yokai. Years of dungeon crawls have done nothing to prepare players for sentient paper umbrellas that enjoy licking people. But you can immediately see the scenario potential of a house full of well-loved tools suddenly coming to life and accidentally troubling a neighborhood (I am getting extreme Real Ghostbusters cartoon vibes, just talking about it). There’s also more menacing creatures, like the skull made of skulls or the human-eating ghosts, the latter is definitely tuned for more traditional monster-hunting scenarios. Then there’s stuff like the Futakuchi Onna, which looks like a typical woman, but has an extra mouth in the back of its head. Mostly it just eats a lot, but that doesn’t stop those strong Junji Ito vibes from creeping me out.

Regardless, an essential Yokai Hunters Society supplement and one of general utility for those not playing that game. If nothing else, Chema Gonzalez’ art is pure delight.
