Hi! Thank you so much, I'm excited to share some knowledge with someone. <3 I tried summing up methods that have helped me the most: 1. lots of research (vids, blogs, magazines, loadout lists,...) 2. store/product photos 3. military photos (not airsoft!) 4. damtoy loadout showcase vids I first started off with doing extensive research on cod operators. Cosplay guides by shadeops21 (DeviantArt) are a huge help with the most accurate loadout lists.

Next step was looking up product photos & studying the functions, shapes, different angles. Store/product photos are my most used refs, they're in high resolution & you'll see every detail thanks to a well lit environment. I also collect military pics in one huge folder, not only for pose refs & inspo, but also as refs on how the gear is used. Product photos will lay flat, worn gear will always look different!

Make sure to learn how to differentiate airsoft from real military pics, airsofters (except for dedicated reenactors/milsimers) tend to have wacky tastes (ugly, black amazon gear and fake, glowing NVGs,...).

The gear of Damtoys is incredibly accurate & precise, watching videos of the dolls being dressed will also give you an idea on how accs (pouches, glow sticks, radio systems, ...) are attached to the equipment.

My strongest interests lay in SOF, so I'll also collect magazines with expert info, insights & loadout descriptions (K-ISOM (German) SPECIAL OPS (Polish)). To my advantage, I do have friends who are either huge military nerds or in active duty, I'll sometimes ask them questions and learn about the features and (dis)advantages of various pieces of gear. It's a life hack, but you'll achieve your goal either way if you're determined!

After you got a feel for the basics, you can start accommodating knowledge. Study drawing/recognizing the most used equipment first, western modern kits are very repetitive (as the products are so good, they don't need to be replaced). Headsets: 3M Peltor ComTac, Sordin, Ops-Core AMP Helmets: Ops-Core, Crye AirFrame, Team Wendy, MICH 2000 Plate carriers: Crye JPC, Crye AVS, First Spear, Lindnerhof, AGILITE, LBT Slick & 6094 Gloves: Oakleys, PIG FDT Alpha, Mechanix, Petzl, Nomex flight gloves, Outdoor Research Ironsight After that you can start looking up more niche or less iconic brands and gear, you'll be a nerd in no time. sorry to drama dump here, but it's kinda relevant to the stuff talked about? So Hbomb made a new video about cases of plagiarism and what surprised me was that the majority of it wasn't about Illuminaughtii as the initial patreon buzz suggested, but James Somerton. If you haven't heard of Somerton, he makes (made?) videos about queer content on YT. Some of it was better than others (his Helluva Boss video was so bad I never rewatched it) but I liked some of his stuff for helping me understand LGBT history and media better.

turns out he's a massive plagiarist, liar and was looking like he was implicating his co-writer who may or may not have known about this in order to preserve his own image. tbh I feel so dumb for having watched him for so long and not picked up on it - looking back it seems so obvious that the stuff I liked in his vids likely all came from various other books & articles and the judgemental, catty bits were very likely his own invention. what's worse is he complained about a lack of support before to the extent it threatened the continuation of the channel - either losing patrons or Youtube hiding his stuff due to its LGBT content and I believed him because it sounded plausible. but now I just don't know. I was wondering why everyone was crossing their fingers for Hbomb to make a video about Vivzie.

All I can say is that if he wants to do so and needs the proof to back it up, there's my DMs.

Still a bit mad about this morning...

Cuz who wouldn't be when you're having to question your "reliable" source or having to question whether or not you imagined up the whole thing.

I set my alarm to my usual 6:30 and 6:45. They go off and I hit the 10min snooze. Somehow my phone falls behind my bed. Oh No Not Now (Philadelphia Story): Such a lovely vid for one of my all time favorite movies! The love for every character really shines through — it's so interesting seeing this song used for multiple POVs, but it seems to get right at the protective layers all of these people have built around themselves and the ways they break right through those for each other. And it's just radiantly romantic!

Sister Kate (Philadelphia Story): I'm guessing this was made by the same vidder who didn't want to leave Dinah out, but either way I'm SO delighted to get a vid for one of my favorite film kid sisters! To a Ditty Bops song that I love, no less!

Annie Doesn't Live Here Anymore (Alfred Hitchcock): A dark twisty vid for my favorite director to an amazing Eartha Kitt song! Fascinated by the relationships the vidder chose to spotlight (and especially pleased to see my beloved Shadow of a Doubt, which really fits the theme and which I feel is a bit less known than the other films included).

Hope on Fire (Jesus Christ Superstar): SUCH an incredible song choice. "You're a one-man shift in the weather" feels like the perfect Judas descriptor and there are so many lyrics related to time that make it feel like the characters are caught in an unbreakable cycle. This vid breaks my heart and gives me the shivers. And the vidder does such a good job of weaving together several different sources!

KCIB (Dimension 20): It's Zac Oyama as a little kitty cat. What else can I say. It's so bite-sized and funny and I've watched it a half dozen times because every time I see the link I think "Yes, I do want to watch Zac Oyama be a little kitty cat."

the star paths (Lays of the Hearth-Fire): I was so hoping someone would take me up on the challenge of how you might go about vidding this book series and so glad to receive this vid showing Kip's journey through Sky Ocean. Just sharing, as a long time army & months into shipping, I rewatched many contents, read blogs to weigh how I view things. & I do agree that vmin shippers are more rational & sensible. I read tk & jk vids/blogs, all of them believe/push the narrative of the members kissing/even having sex in a professional setting, which makes my blood boil. I bet u heard about this tk lives channel w 400k+ subs & mil views. I think that she perpetuated this idea w/ the 2017MAMA manipulated hickey analysis.

I want to preface this answer by saying that I agree. It really urks me when people say that such things happen in such a professional setting. I'm going to go on a little tangent here, but I want that to be clear. I'm not interested in finding out with or when something could happen in such a setting. I just wanted to say that make such claims is pretty bold and invasive when it comes to professional settings. I would never make these kinds of claims myself, and I don't like it when other people do it. A lot of the time it's falsified, and the original source is rarely supplied.

Anyway, for the rest of this response, keep the above paragraph in mind. Because I do agree with that these claims are a little outlandish and quite invasive most of the time, but I also want to point some things out. Offer a different perspective, if you will. Related to this ask, but possibly unrelated to the boys themselves. (though it'll still relate to them, so please don't let that anecdote chase you away.)

Let's start with the hickey thing. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with my unbelievably fair/pale skin tone, or if this is a thing that many people suffer with, but hickey analyses get on my nerves anyway. For me, if I so much as brush a hand over my neck/chest area, I get big red marks on my skin. I don't know why. It's just a thing that happens. They don't ever look like hickeys, but I've often had people tease me about it and question who did it to me. So anyway, there's that. (And not to mention the obvious with people editing screenshots to make it look like someone has a hickey, which happens all the time...always view the original source.)

Anyway, moving on from that. While I agree that it's a little ridiculous, outlandish, bold, and obviously invasive to point fingers and say that they'd do such things in professional settings, it's not impossible. I've had to have several discussions with my team members because we found evidence that a couple of people had snuck off together and got a little handsy. I believe that this had to have been other teams (because I trust my team and believe they are more responsible than that), however, I've still had to have the discussions regardless. It is, without a doubt, highly unprofessional and extremely irresponsible to do things that like, but people still do it. (NOTE: I do not think it's okay to make these assumptions about the BTS members with each other or any else for that matter. I know, I am stating that this kind of thing is possible, and I know that people are going to do with that information what they will. I'm just hoping the people reading this are mature and responsible enough to understand that I can point these kinds of things out without condoning the assumptions. And if you're not that mature and responsible, please get off the internet. It's no place for you.)

Another note. Let's say that some hickeys did show up during a vlive where two members were together. Of course, this isn't the case in any scenario. Again, it would be a pretty unprofessional and irresponsible thing to do. While I don't believe the BTS members themselves would do anything like this, it's still a possible thing to happen with a couple. People who want to lay claim and ownership over their partner or want to have physical evidence on their partner can do this. There are couples that do things like that all the time. Of course, a lot of that is going to depend on many things. Such as where someone works and how much they can get away with. You definitely wouldn't mark up a partner and make them go to work with evidence if it would get them fired from a job (which can and has happened to people). In the case of BTS, yes. I don't think the company would be very happy with the members doing something like that. Not that I necessarily think they would get fired over it or anything (though it could be possible), I am so sure that there would be some sort of repercussions.

So. In short, while the things that people say are technically possible, I don't think it's okay to make those kinds of assumptions. And, even so, I don't think the BTS members would do something like that. And even even so, making those kind of outlandish claims is pretty disrespectful if I'm being honest...
