Significant dreams, […] are often remembered for a lifetime, and not infrequently prove to be the richest jewel in the treasure-house of psychic experience.

Emergence of personality - this is my attempt to depict 'personality' as a sort of dynamical system, offering emergent properties...
What is a personality?
Personality is the 'form of self' - it is a collection of character attributes, to summarize it simply. Furtherly, the form of self is characterized by patterns in perception, thought and feeling.
The form of self goes hand-in-hand with the 'function of self': behavior.
[I think this perspective is similar to Jung's ideas on Triebe/drive. ]
Starting from here I try to translate these concepts into some sort of algorithms.

You may yearn for more joy and freedom but feel trapped in a structured mindset. It's important to overcome this tension by embracing both polarities, finding a harmony between spontaneity and order, effort and grace. Balancing these opposites will lead to a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Jupiter ☍ Uranus: The Jupiter-Uranus opposition represents a conflict between progress and understanding in your life. Jupiter symbolizes conventional growth within societal boundaries, while Uranus represents radical change and a departure from social norms. This opposition creates internal conflict regarding individual freedom and social responsibility. You may lean towards individualism and reject conformity or adopt a defender-of-society stance, suppressing your own eccentric traits. Neptune ☍ Ceres: When Neptune opposes Ceres in your chart, you experience a significant polarity between your nurturing and spiritual sensitivity and your longing for heightened awareness. Those who play a nurturing role may feel threatened by your sensitivity and spiritual quest. You may struggle to validate your subtle perceptions and artistic expressions. Nurturing your soul through imagination is important, but beware of detachment from reality. Spending time near water can provide solace. Imbalances arise from a lack of emotional support, leading to feelings of helplessness. To overcome this, nurture your sensitivities while establishing emotional foundations and harness your intuition practically. Strive for a harmonious integration of nurturing and spiritual growth.
Neptune ☍ Vertex: When Neptune opposes the Vertex in your chart, you possess a hidden aspect that may not be immediately evident to others. You exhibit traits of indecision and compassion, which can lead to misunderstandings. You may attract individuals struggling with substance abuse, requiring strength to avoid getting entangled in their problems. Your true energy shines in spirituality and artistry. You have a strong urge to help others, but it's important to recognize your limitations and seek clarity through spiritual contemplation. Seeking support from Neptune or Pisces individuals can be beneficial. Embrace your hidden nature, navigate spirituality and artistry, and unlock your full potential by exercising discernment and embracing growth opportunities.
Neptune ☍ Lilith: When Neptune opposes Lilith in your chart, you are deeply influenced by the darker aspects of your emotions, often becoming absorbed in them. It is crucial to reflect on how your emotions may affect others and consider if you are neglecting your own feelings. Self-reflection reveals valuable insights. Despite any disbelief, your heightened sensitivity leads you to navigate life through emotions, sometimes overlooking rational thought. Embrace the present moment and fully experience your emotions. Differentiate between reality and imagination, seeking clarity amidst the shadows. By acknowledging the power of your emotions while staying grounded, you can gain profound insights and find inner harmony.
Tumblr media
Pluto ☍ Part of Fortune: When Pluto opposes the Part of Fortune in your chart, you approach relationships with seriousness and prefer waiting for a committed connection. Shyness and difficulty in establishing rapport contribute to this approach. Family dynamics and past experiences may impact your ability to accept and build a loving relationship and start a family of your own. Avoid nurturing fears and resentments, focusing instead on personal power and pursuing happiness. Embrace self-discovery, letting go of lingering fears. Cultivate inner strength and resilience to attract and maintain a fulfilling partnership. Approach relationships with an open heart while maintaining self-worth and boundaries.
Pluto ☍ Ascendant: When Pluto opposes the Rising (Ascendant) in your chart, you tend to attract individuals with powerful egos and strong tempers, craving deep connections. However, be cautious of those who mold themselves to please you. You may also exhibit the same behavior. You place demands on others but resent when the same is asked of you. Your strength lies in shaping people, making fields like public relations ideal. Your expressive nature captivates others, but be mindful of power struggles and maintain healthy boundaries. Seek balanced and respectful relationships, honoring autonomy and fostering growth. Navigate complexities for harmonious connections.
Pluto ☍ Imun Coeli: When Pluto opposes the 4th house in your chart, you possess a natural inclination towards power and resourcefulness in your chosen career. Leadership roles suit you best, as you have a transformative impact on others. You excel in delving deep into the core of matters, whether in practical fields like plumbing or in exploring human behavior through psychology. Your intuition and analytical mindset allow you to uncover hidden truths and navigate complex situations, making meaningful contributions in your field. Embrace your leadership qualities and curiosity, pursuing a career that aligns with your passions and analytical skills. Leave a lasting imprint on your professional sphere and the lives you touch.
Pluto ☍ Descendant: When Pluto opposes the 7th house in your chart, you have a natural inclination towards taking the lead and maintaining control in your romantic relationships or business partnerships. However, it is important to recognize that complete control may not always be attainable, especially in intimate partnerships. Transformative relationships are likely to shape your life, attracting individuals with enigmatic and unconventional qualities. Be cautious of excessive control, as it can lead to powerful adversaries and aggression. Taboo concepts and power struggles may arise in your relationships, and you may be drawn to unconventional and risky connections. Strive for a healthy balance, respecting boundaries and fostering stable and fulfilling connections that allow for growth and mutual support.
Pluto ☍ Midheaven: When Pluto opposes the Midheaven in a natal chart, it brings profound transformations to one's career, public image, and life direction. Power struggles and personal growth are common, leading to significant shifts in the individual's professional path. This aspect signifies a strong desire for power and control in the chosen field, but it can also result in conflicts and challenges with authority figures. The individual may experience radical changes in their career, letting go of outdated ambitions and embracing a new sense of purpose. Authenticity and integrity in the public image are crucial, as hidden agendas can be exposed. Navigating this aspect with self-awareness and integrity allows for personal growth and a lasting impact on the professional path and public image.
Tumblr media
Pluto ☍ Chiron: Individuals with Pluto opposed Chiron possess a strong and introverted nature, often plagued by self-doubt and subconscious insecurity. Childhood experiences and conflicts with parents intensify these inner uncertainties. They exhibit a fierce competitive spirit and an unwavering desire for success, driven by a need to prove their intrinsic worth. Intense emotions such as envy, greed, lust, and jealousy overwhelm them, and attempts to suppress these feelings only amplify them. To embark on a journey of personal growth and healing, they must confront their past, acknowledge past rejections, and transform their understanding into positive attributes. By embracing their emotions and engaging in self-reflection and healing, they can emerge as resilient forces for themselves and others.
Pluto ☍ Vesta: Individuals with Pluto opposed Vesta navigate between rugged individualism and fear of decision-making, often developing an aversion to authority. Harmonizing these energies and applying self-discipline unlocks their immense abilities for the greater good. They intuitively recognize transformative power within destructive forces, transforming inner demons into allies. This process clears unconscious patterns and beliefs that separate them from the divine. They are then prepared to embrace their true calling, providing solace to others in personal crises, illness, or loss. Triumphing over inner demons grants them balance and influence, enabling them to impact many lives through business, politics, or art. Their journey of self-discovery empowers them to inspire and uplift others with strength and empathy.
Pluto ☍ Pallas: Individuals with Pluto opposed Pallas may face challenges in expressing their creative side due to a lack of discipline or confidence. They yearn for transformative experiences and may explore taboo and psychological realms, which can clash with societal norms. This may create adversarial dynamics unless they integrate their yearning with cultural context. Embracing their creative nature, valuing their unique perspective, and finding a balance between personal exploration and societal expectations allows them to navigate this dichotomy authentically. Trusting their creative instincts, exploring passions, and expressing their artistic self aligns them with their true essence and brings harmony and fulfillment.
Pluto ☍ Juno: Individuals with Pluto opposed Juno possess great personal power potential, yet a lack of emotional security influences their behavior. They may exhibit dictatorial tendencies due to a conflict between their desire for security and the power they can wield. In committed relationships, power dynamics become a significant issue, leading to destructive patterns, sexual obsessions, possessiveness, and abuses of power. Addressing these dynamics openly and honestly is crucial for fostering a healthy relationship. Cultivating emotional security, open communication, trust, and mutual respect allows for a balanced expression of power, transforming conflicts into opportunities for growth, empowerment, and deeper connection.
Pluto ☍ Ceres: Individuals with Pluto opposed Ceres face a significant polarity in their lives, balancing their creative and emotional bonds with their transformative journey of self-empowerment. Loyalties may feel divided between their mother and spouse, as care and closeness can require compromising power. Inner negativity and a lack of confidence in love hinder their expression of emotional care, leading others to control and withhold support. Striking a balance is crucial to avoid constant power struggles that hinder personal growth. They have a need for sexual nourishment but must maintain a healthy balance of power and avoid seeking it solely for personal gratification. Asserting personal power, setting boundaries, and open communication can navigate these complexities and foster fulfilling relationships.
Pluto ☍ Vertex: Individuals experiencing Pluto opposed Vertex are undergoing a purging process, releasing what is no longer necessary for personal growth. Power struggles and opposition arise, leading to regeneration and transformation. Challenges in sexuality, taxes, and insurance may emerge, but integrity and moral values help overcome them. There is a tendency to stay in the comfort zone for personal safety, yet supporting fragile individuals and advocating for spiritual practices becomes important. Emotional fluctuations between love and hatred require understanding and resolution in relationships. Embracing these challenges fosters personal transformation and creates a moderately happy life that integrates material and spiritual aspects. Prioritizing integrity and well-being is key.
Pluto ☍ Lilith: Individuals with Pluto opposed Lilith have a deep fear of control and react strongly to perceived threats to their freedom. This fear can lead to secrecy, manipulation, and hostility as defensive measures. They also experience shame, guilt, and fear, and may take pleasure in others' suffering. Their taboo desires, particularly in sexuality, feel uncontrollable. While driven by individuality and liberation, this obsession ironically impairs personal freedom. To find a healthier path, addressing these fears is crucial. Self-acceptance, self-compassion, open communication, and therapy can help develop healthier coping mechanisms. Releasing the need for constant defense allows for greater inner peace and authentic individuality.

Draconic synastry 🔐🌌💗
Tumblr media
Draconic Synastry chart calculator here.
Draconic charts are perfect for understanding some fragments of our Superior personality, our Soul, even because the Soul is in constant evolution and, despite this, as we evolve very slowly (as a rule), the draconic chart defines our Soul's recent personality and experiences that the Soul has accumulated so far, that form who it is. Yes, Souls have personalities! After all, our Soul is who we are.
The draconic chart is extremely relevant for connecting with our Essence and reaching a higher level of self-awareness, which can even help us understand how deep and beautiful we are in essence.
In today's post, I bring you a little about the draconic synastry chart, which is a beautiful and very interesting chart to look at. Because it is a synastry, we are facing 2 different people.
The draconic synastry chart is used to see past dynamics of interpersonal relationships such as friendships, partnerships, relationships between parents and children, lovers, relatives, enemies...
It helps us understand how our Soul feels in relation to the Soul of another - in this life (natal chart) and in a past, deeper sense too (draconic chart).
Below are some tips on how to read:
First of all, pay attention only to aspects that have a very close angle, as the Draconic synastry chart generally has different aspects, but many may not be understood by your current consciousness so easily, and may not manifest themselves intensely. Therefore, focus on exact aspects and orbit of a maximum of 1 DEGREE.
Tips for understanding the relationship between Draconic Chart x Natal Chart:
Draconic A x Draconic B: Soul to Soul (Soul contracts, Soul experiences, how people know each other and relate to each other on a Soul level)
Draconic A x Natal chart B: Soul to Consciousness of this life (How A's Soul feels about the current experience with person B in this life)
Natal chart A x Draconic B: Consciousness of this life to Soul (How B's Soul feels about the current experience with person A in this life)
Natal Chart A x Natal Chart B: Consciousness to consciousness. (that Synastry chart that we use to look at)
Planets in the Draconic Synastry Chart
(my perspective, which is a contribution, not an absolute truth):
Sun - Basic personality. Ego. Center of consciousness. Pride. Central traits of someone's personality. Personal brilliance.
Moon - The emotional life. Emotional connection. Emotional openness. Empathy. Family. Emotions. Roots. Sensitivity. Inner connection. Inner insight. Imagination. Emotional nutrition. Mother. Intuition. Home. Emotional home. Affections.
Mercury - Thought patterns. Solutions. Rationalizations. Issues involving communication, learning, mind, intellect.
Venus - Harmony. Love. Exchanges. Money. Pleasure. Stability. Relationship. Personality. Self-value. Self-appreciation. Balance. Give and receive. Feeling of worthiness.
Mars - Assertiveness. Action. Reaction. Control. Physical energy. Defense. Attack. Defense or attack mechanisms. Independence.
Jupiter – Belief systems. Faith. Optimism. Opportunities for growth. The optimism that can arise from this relationship. A connection through trust systems. The trips you take together - mentally or physically.
Saturn - Structure. Maturity. Responsibility. Restrictions. Slow growth. Harvest well-planted fruits. Authorities. Fears. Rigidity. Limiting beliefs.
Uranus – Originality. Innovation. Interruption. Quick changes. Thoughts. Mind. Unpredictability. Creativity. Dreams. Independence.
Neptune - Past. Dreams. Intuition. Connection. Spirituality. Psyche. Escape. Unconscious matters. Personal unconscious. Collective unconscious. Faith. Religion. Illusions.
Pluto - Deep Connection. Personal unconscious. Connection. Intensity. Deep internal issues. Taboos. Sex. Standards being transformed. Power. Control. Fear. Traumas. Regeneration. Rebirth. Transformation potential. Deeper patterns that are brought to the surface.
The aspects in Draconic synastry chart
Oppositions - Lessons being learned through discomfort, from learning through the opposite side. If there are oppositions, it appears that the necessary lessons may be in the process of being developed by both individuals in the areas that involve both planets. However, it has not been fully integrated yet because there is conflict. It's important to realize that conflict only exists to bring about awareness and evolution.
Squares - Squares in a Draconic synastry chart represent the souls' quest to learn together, even though they are aware that it will bring various tensions. It will indeed be challenging, but these are lessons that will push you to grow, require effort, awareness, and discipline. The keyword for squares is conflict that generates change, learning that promotes growth. Squares represent points of clash and tension. To understand a square aspect, you can think of the signs that naturally form this aspect. For example, Aries and Capricorn. These signs are very different. Aries is instinctive, fast, impulsive, assertive, independent, often preferring something new. Capricorn is traditional, closed-off, melancholic, restrictive, limiting, conservative, practical, and planned. In the relationship between these signs, many things need to be adjusted or even sacrificed (which is not always good) in order to achieve harmony. So, when reading a Draconic synastry chart, if you see squares, they can signify a significant opportunity for you to learn and evolve within a relationship. Obviously, always seeking to learn in calmer ways, as we don't necessarily need chaos to evolve.
Conjunctions - In a Draconic synastry chart, a conjunction represents that your souls feel connected because they share common points. It's a union of forces and efforts. Here, there's a significant possibility that people in this life are experiencing, expanding, and increasing the significance of points that already existed in their souls (points that involve the aspected planets). Conjunctions can represent points of evolution in an issue that has been repeating, meaning you are getting better and better at what your souls have in common and already possess, OR they can indicate a comfort zone, OR a boost of energy to be channeled in good ways. It all depends on the individuals involved, their choices, and the rest of the chart!
Sextiles - In a Draconic synastry chart, sextiles, in my view, represent points where your souls feel very comfortable together, points of harmony and mutual effort. Sextile aspects in the Draconic chart bring a sense of ease, something that is easily achieved through action. Here, we observe in which areas the two individuals involved have a facility to navigate those topics that involve the planets in the aspect.
Trines - Trines in the Draconic synastry chart symbolize even more ease in topics involving the planets of the aspect. These are points where your souls communicate very well, speaking practically the same language (the same element).

What becomes of the spawn siblings after Cazador's death?
I cannot stop thinking about the spawn siblings. I am so interested in all of them, I want to know everything about them. I wish there were more opportunities to talk to them, or talk to Astarion about them.
I’ve been thinking a lot since I finished Astarion’s quest about what will become of the rest of Cazador’s “children” after they are free of him, and I wanted to write out those thoughts to 1) preserve them for myself and 2) maybe find other people as insane as I am to discuss them with lol.
As a general note, I don’t see the siblings sticking together after Cazador’s death. They may do so for a little while at first while they try to figure out how to move forward, but I think they would all break away from each other and go their own ways eventually (I think Aurelia would be the most likely to follow one of them wherever they go, but I don’t know for sure if I think she actually would.). Some of them may keep in contact, or they may run in similar circles and run into one another now and again, but I feel like they will all feel a desire to move away from this family structure that Cazador built and build something of their own.
(For context, my headcanons for the order in which each sibling joined the family is Aurelia, Astarion, Dalyria, Violet, Petras, Yousen, and Leon.)
Aurelia I think Aurelia will really struggle with freedom. As I noted, I believe she was the first spawn Cazador made so she’s been under his control longer than anyone (including likely several years as an “only child” and I cannot imagine being the only target of Cazador’s sadism was great for her psyche). She was probably the most thoroughly indoctrinated of all of them. If you kill Cazador without Astarion and talk to her she will call Tav “master”. I don’t think she remembers how to function without that master/spawn dynamic anymore. Without Cazador I think she will seek out another strong personality to fill that role for her, and how the rest of her life plays out will be heavily dependent on who it is she attaches herself to. If a decent person takes her under their wing I think she absolutely has the potential to begin to heal from everything she endured, but if she falls in with another cruel master who will take advantage of her dependance on them then I think it’s likely she will end up in a situation not dissimilar to the one she was freed from.
Dalyria I have mixed feelings about Dal. Initially I thought she would adjust relatively easily as she seemed to have retained the most of her “humanity” throughout her time under Cazador, and practicing medicine seemed to give her a solid purpose I didn’t sense from the others. However, with her last act before the ritual being to kill Victoria in an effort to cure herself of her vampirism, I’m less sure. I think Astarion’s warning at the flop house that Cazador wasn’t intending to free them (and probably his rage after Aurelia and the others returned without Astarion) scared her enough that she did it as a desperate move hoping to get free herself. She’s obviously led plenty to their deaths before this on Cazador’s orders, but I think this was the first time she’s taken a life of her own volition, and I think that will really mess her up. Especially since she would have known Victoria. I think Leon kept her away from the other spawn as much as possible, but they were definitely aware of her. And if Leon felt ok with any of them being around his daughter it would have been Dal. I don’t know. I could see her punishing herself for that for the rest of her life. I don’t think she’ll ever let herself drink from anything but animals as some kind of penance. I wonder if she will still seek a cure for vampirism? Or will the enormity of what she was willing to sacrifice for that cure will lead her to feel that it’s no longer worth it? It’s equally possible though that she would feel that a cure would ultimately be for the greater good and push forward with it anyway (without the death of any more innocents). I really can’t decide. I do feel confident that she would continue to practice medicine in some capacity no matter what. Her identity as a doctor seems to be a very core part of who she is, and I imagine that the Underdark/Undercity are probably always in need of medical expertise. I think that purpose will help her to find her way, but I think the guilt of Victoria’s death will always hang heavily on her.
Violet I don’t feel like Violet has a long life after she is freed. We don’t know much about her, but based on her diary she seems like a real shit-stirrer. We do know she landed herself in the favored spawn room at least once, and I don’t think anyone earns Cazador’s favor by doing anything good. I headcanon her as being the spawn who most genuinely enjoys the violent parts of their nature. She genuinely enjoys hunting (that enjoyment only dampened by the fact that she’s not allowed to kill anyone herself) and probably doesn’t mind it in the least when she’s the one made to torture her siblings. All this to say, I think she would take full advantage of her freedom to get pretty serial killer-y. I think I’d give her a year at best before a monster hunter puts her down.
Petras I honestly think Petras would do pretty well for himself? He gives me the vibe of that dumb jock douche from high school who still somehow managed to end up way more successful than anyone would have expected lol. I think he feels he deserves a taste of the good life after everything he was put through and I think he’ll be able to build a version of that for himself (I vote him most likely to steal some fancy-looking shit from the palace on the way out the door). I could see him maybe getting involved in some kind of organized crime in the Undercity/Underdark. Not leadership or anything, but definitely as a valued asset.
Yousen So we know next to nothing about Yousen. Poor guy doesn’t even have unique dialogue. I don’t feel like I have enough information to make any kind of accurate prediction about what will become of him, so I am delving all the way into the realm of headcanon with him. I don’t even know for sure what race he is? I had thought he was a gnome, but I’ve seen him referred to in several places as a halfling? So who even knows. I also saw somewhere that he had been a spawn for 60 years. I also don’t know where that information came from, but I’ve chosen to accept it. The only canon information I have on him is that he was at least once a victim of a prank from Violet. So from this lack of information I choose to believe that he is the type to keep his head down and his nose clean. He doesn’t seek to be exceptional in Cazador’s eyes like Leon, but he in no way rebels either. He just wants to be invisible. Maybe that’s what makes him such a good victim for Violet. She knows he won’t make a fuss about it and get her in trouble to stay under the radar. I think those skills would serve him well in surviving on his own. He probably won’t thrive, but would continue to keep his head down, keep himself fed, and get his hands on whatever he needed without raising any major alarms.
Leon I don’t think Leon lives much past the day he’s freed. I think losing Victoria would be the end for him. My headcanon for how Victoria came to live in the mansion with them is that Leon was raising her alone (she was probably an infant at the time, maybe he lost his wife in childbirth?) when he was turned by Cazador. As soon as Leon realized the situation he was in he threw himself at Cazador’s feet and begged to be allowed to bring his daughter to the palace. Cazador of course, wasn’t moved by his show of emotion, but I think he thought that this could be interesting. It was honestly a no-lose situation for him. Worst case scenario, he would get to kill a child in front of its father. Or he could use the threat of harm to the child to drive Leon to be even more loyal and hardworking than those he had to compel to be. Based on how long Leon spent in the favored spawn room it seems that this strategy was very effective. Everything Leon did, every victim he brought home, every time he sold out one of the other spawn to stay in Cazador’s good favor, and every violent act he carried out on his sibling, or himself--it was all for her. Based on his diary, he clearly came to realize that this wasn’t going to be sustainable however. He knew she wouldn’t be safe there forever, and it sounds like he was so close to getting her out. I don’t think he finds out until after the failed ritual that she is dead (I don’t think he ever finds out it was Dal. I think only she and Cazador knew what she did and she was too scared to tell Leon. He just assumed it had been Cazador and she let him believe that.). For a few precious minutes he really believes that he will be able to be free with her. He’s “young” enough as a vampire that he probably believed they could go back to a normal life. But when that’s all ripped away I think that’s it for him. I think it’s likely that the very same day he gains his freedom he walks out into the sun and ends it all.
So there you go. There’s everything about the future for these six that’s been spinning in my head the last 48 hours. Does any of this this ring true to anyone? Anything you feel like I’m way off the mark on? Super curious what people think of these characters!

This week's writer's spotlight feature is: @pearynice! With twenty-eight Stranger Things works, they've written twenty-seven fics tagged with Steve Harrington/Eddie Munson!
Nominated by @hotluncheddie, they recommend the following works by peachesandpears:
Talk to Me
Personally
Starched Collars
In your eyes
they are so lovely and so talented!! so many short and sweet pieces - that so often seem to touch and soft squishy part hidden away within me, put a little bandaid on it <3 - @hotluncheddie
Below the cut, @pearynice answered some questions about their writing process and some of their recommended work!
Why do you write Steddie?
I’ve always loved the “opposites attract” trope. While Steddie is the first ship I’ve ever seriously written for, in the past this dynamic has always been my go to (ie: destiel lol) but Steddie specifically because I think Stranger Things is a great show with compelling characters, and that Eddie and Steve deserve a happy ending. And for me that happy ending will always have them with each other.
What’s your favorite trope to READ?
I love AUs. Love seeing the little blorbos in as many situations as possible. I love being able to see how writers take what we know about these characters and make it into a whole new story. (But especially a soulmate AU. I loveeee a soulmate AU.)
What’s your favorite trope to WRITE?
I think anyone who follows me can probably guess hurt/ comfort and fluff. I LOVE making these boys suffer and then smooch about it.
What’s your favorite Steddie fic?
AH okay I will scream about this fic until I’m blue in the face (I actually submitted an ask to this blog about it because I think it’s criminally under-viewed!) it’s As the World Falls Down by daeneryske on Ao3. I read this MONTHS ago and I still think about it all the time. It’s long but god I wish it would never end. I want to tattoo it on the inside of my eyelids.
Is there a trope you’re excited to explore in a future work but haven’t yet?
Yes!! I can’t say much because it’s for my Reverse Big Bang but they both contain tropes I’ve never worked with before and I’m so so excited to be writing both of them!!! I’m already having so much fun! And a goal of mine for 2024 is to broaden my writing horizons a little and explore tropes and topics that I haven’t yet, so I don’t really have any specifically in mind but that is my general plan!
What is your writing process like?
Very chaotic. I almost never write an outline. It’s pure vibes baby. And when I DO write an outline I almost never follow it (whoopsie) I feel like as I write the plot comes to me, and outlines tend to pigeon hole me so I can’t get myself out of writing slumps.
Do you have any writing quirks?
Maybe my overuse of italics?  I also don’t really know how to describe it but sometimes when I’m writing heavy action scenes/ emotional scenes I’ll start and stop sentences before they’re complete sentences. Like: “Steve says nothing. Sits down next to his father and looks over his shoulder.” I don’t know if that’s a writing quirk or not lol but that tends to be how I structure my sentences.
Do you prefer posting when you’ve finished writing or on a schedule?
Definitely after I’ve finished. Once I’m on a deadline I psych myself out.
Which fic are you most proud of?
That’s such a hard one, because I think I’m proud of a lot of my fics but for very different reasons. I think if I had to choose, I’d pick Blood of the Covenant. It’s one of my more recent fics, and I had toyed around with a Wayne POV fic for such a long time before writing because I wanted to get it right. It was hard to find his voice but I think in the end I executed it well.
How did you get the idea for Talk to Me?
Well besties I dunno how personal we want to get here, but the inspo for this fic (and tbh a lot of my hurt/ comfort fics) is just based on my own experiences. Growing up my mom did not have the capacity to tend to the thoughts and emotions of her kids, ergo me pushing that shit into a Steddie fic. Obviously what I wrote as Steve’s experience and mine are not directly parallel, but that is how I got the idea.
When writing Starched Collars, what was something you didn’t expect?
That was my first heavy hurt/comfort fic that I wrote, and I remember being really blown away that people could relate so heavily to Steve’s experiences. I remember I had some comments saying that they felt really comforted seeing their own experiences reflected within Steve, and I just never expected my writing to be able provide that for someone.
What inspired Personally?
Well, again, we’re getting a little personal (babum tss)- but how I wrote Steve’s mom reacting to him mentioning the sunglasses is definitely how my own mom tends to react when I express any kind of negative emotion around her. In this case it was a lost parking stub instead of sunglasses.
What was your favorite part to write from Talk to Me?
The COMFORT- that’s always my favorite part. Making it better! (Although it is also a little fun leaving the angsty cliffhanger- but I will ALWAYS make my fics have a happy ending.) But also I’m a little in love with the idea I had that Eddie likes to rub on Steve’s stomach until he falls asleep. I thought that wrapped up the story very nicely.
How do/did you feel writing Personally?
It was honestly very therapeutic. I don’t think I’ve ever word-vomited out a fic more rapidly than I did for that one. I wrote that in my notes app in one afternoon, read through it once or twice, and posted. It was a relief to get all of that out in writing, and then even better to see that other people found comfort in what I had written.
What was the most difficult part of writing Starched Collars?
When I was first drafting the fic I was going to have Starched Collars and In Your Eyes (the kinda sorta sequel) be one in the same. I spent a long time trying to balance the two narratives, before I realized it was just too much to fit into one fic. Having both detracted from the other’s story too much, and eventually I had it just focusing on Steve. I think this was the best move but I spent so long trying to strike that balance before I scrapped it.
Do you have a favorite scene and/or line from any of your fics?
I don’t know if I can name any one scene or line as explicitly my favorite, but the final scene of Because it’s Steve it’s absolutely a favorite. That whole fic is very special to me because it reflects a lot of my own thoughts/feelings/experiences on being demi, and that final scene is just exactly how I experience my demisexuality. (I’m not sure how long this can be, but I’ll insert the passage here):
And they’re still in this disgusting bathroom. There’s still a toilet behind Eddie’s knees, but when Steve’s mouth meets his, it doesn’t matter. Because one of Steve’s arms wraps around his middle, his fingers dip into the spaces between his ribs, their chests touch, and it all feels so good. Because it’s Steve. And it’s still Steve who kisses him, still Steve who licks into his mouth, still Steve who nearly sends them both stumbling into the disgusting toilet. And because it’s Steve it’s so funny that Eddie can’t stop laughing, and there’s a blush high on Steve’s cheeks as he tells Eddie to stop it. But then Steve kisses him again. Asks if he wants to go and find Robin and Nancy. If he wants to dance. With him.
Do you have any upcoming projects or fics you’d like to share/promote?
YES. So Because it’s Steve is now a series: Demi/Virgin!Eddie, with all of Eddie’s firsts with Steve. This is very smutty but it’s also like, the sappiest, most disgustingly fluffy smut I’ve ever written. I would say it’s “schmoopy” but I was outed as an Old Lady on Discord because apparently no one uses that word anymore. ALSO- and maybe this is still too far away BUT I am working on TWO Reverse Big Bang pieces and… you guys… my artists are so talented and kind and their brains are so big and so far I’ve gotten along with each of them so well and I am already so excited to post these and we’ve only just begun. I cannot wait until we can make our visions into an entire fic!
Outside of these questions, Is there anything YOU would like to add?

8th House Synastry • who feels more
Always be the question : Planet vs House person?
Tumblr media
All things must come to an end but for every end awaits a new beginning.
8th house signifies the territory everything that is hidden and unknown
Unforgettable Karmic Bonds
• 8th house synastry
signifies depth, dark consciousness, sexuality, deep connections, trust, and betrayal
signifies a love that is deeply engraved in one's heart. Even if it is an unexpected love, it will evoke intense emotions and leave behind a lingering warmth that consumes your love
Who feels more? Planets vs House Person?
For example:
>> more : Sun in 8th House - synastry
When the Sun falls into 8th House synastry, it suggests that the House person brings energy and vitality into a certain aspect of the Sun’s life. Sun is deeply attracted to the significance of house person in that particular aspect of life, and for House person, they will come to understand and feel the Sun’s energy through their experiences in that realm.
Sun's energy is influenced by the house person's sensuality and their desire for deep connections, allowing for a closer and more intimate bond between both parties.
>> more : 8th House synastry
For example:
Mars in Sagittarius in 8th House - Synastry
Venus in Sagittarius in 8th House - Synastry
Overall, having Sagittarius on your 8th house cusp means others' Sagittarius energies, like a Mars in Sagittarius, tend to manifest in your life through 8th house themes of renewal, release and transformation on emotional, sexual and psychological levels.
Those with Sagittarius on the cusp of the 8th house of their birth chart tend to experience intimacy, transformation, and vulnerability in an expansive, philosophical, and exploratory way.
When such an individual encounters someone with Venus in the zodiac sign of Sagittarius, there is a natural resonance between their 8th house themes and the Venusian qualities expressed by that person.
Venus in Sagittarius vibrates with a joyful, optimistic, and uninhibited love of beauty, freedom, and broad horizons.
However, for the 8th house Sagittarius individual, they will encounter and process this Venusian energy through the filter of their own 8th house themes - death, rebirth, taboos, sexuality, mysticism and the unknown.  The aesthetic and expression of love exemplified by that person's Venus in Sagittarius will activate deeper areas of introspection and growth within the 8th house Sagittarius individual, touching upon mysteries within themselves that crave illumination.
Their encounters may stir up difficult emotions and shadow elements that the 8th house individual usually keeps hidden.
Yet the positive, freedom-loving spirit of Venus in Sagittarius also provides optimism and wisdom that can help guide the 8th house individual through such tumultuous inner waters toward greater self-knowledge and psychological liberation.
Main lesson of 8th House Synastry
“Those people who are least aware of their unconscious side are the most influenced by it.” — C.G. Jung, Volume 8: Structure and Dynamics of the Psyche
Acknowledge root issue from your past
Learn to accept the wounds that have been formed from childhood to adulthood, learn to communicate with your inner child, and learn to embrace that inner child.
Aware of the strong emotions
Experience intense emotions
the strong emotions you are currently feeling may not be related to your current situation.
Your current relationship may be a trigger of your fears, anger, or feelings of abandonment that you have experienced long ago

Buckle up cuz this is a longpost about Jewish conversion & transsexual identity.
A friend joked, "why do all the bad Catholic girls become good Jewish boys?" when I told them of my conversion.
which sure, it's a bit funny how common it is to find Jewish convert trans men.
but for me the joke formula is a bit off. I consider myself a Good (read: prudish, rule enforcing, obsessively observant) Catholic girl to a bad (read: indolent, irreverent, skeptical, punk ass) Jewish boy.
I had to ask myself, what does it mean to enter a religious tradition and outright declare oneself "bad"? Why do I even want to be part of the Jewish people?
Well it has to do with autonomy & reactivity.
Catholicism was forced upon my natural psyche, much like girlhood. I was assigned Catholic and Girl at birth.
To cope, aside from moments of lapse and rebellion that would explode out now and again, I strove to be "good," to exactingly follow this assignment, perfectly study all its rules and craft the perfect image of what was desired of me to wear as a mask over my realer, neglected and deeply wounded self.
Breaking free of both those constraints in rapid order, there was no going back. I would never again be a Catholic, bad or otherwise, or a girl, feminist or otherwise. Yet in my heart of course, I will always be a Catholic girl with the attendant moods and desires and shapes of understanding that it required me to take.
Now, in conversion and in transition - there is a choice. I could remain nonbinary, fluid, in constant flux, agnostic, ungrounded, dynamic and in conversation with the questions of the world. For a time I thought yes this is who I really am. Not seeing, of course, this is who we all are at our core. Living in that non-identity and infinite identity at once for a time spiritually reconnected my soul back to its own shapelessness and shape shifting power.
But there comes a time when life requires you make some commitments. This is not to say nonbinary or gender fluid people must pick a side. Some folks need to carve out something different entirely. But while my soul remains genderfluid, pagan and animist, I felt the need for communal identity and a structure to build myself on in the world. What aligned most was ftm transexuality, and Judaism, both strains of music I'd been hearing since early childhood, hints and leads all along the way.
See it's that, the formless mischievous spirit within me takes on the shape of a Jewish boy reconnecting with his Slavic roots.
But! In having so much a choice in this (not really, but it was a choice to follow the path that called my name), means it is my Identity. And while Judaism comes with a large set of rules, guidelines, practices and a huge long tradition of scholarship to draw on, and while I did hear jokes about and feel concerned about the similarity of Jewish and Catholic guilt ....none of that has been much of a problem. I'm a very bad and rules avoidant little punk. I tried for a minute to be a "good" man and it fucking failed, fell flat on my face and in the end had to laugh at my attempts. I'm kind of a slut, a fag and a sleazebag. I do what I want, no matter how I try, and that's that. Judaism, I hoped would be a forcefield of community to help me hold onto morality and find a light of belonging in the darkness.
Post October 7th, it has become exceedingly clear that no, it will not be the institutions of Judaism that light this candle, but the weirdos, the queers, the witches and outcasts and converts in conflict. Judaism, as a spiritual /shape/ has a home for us in the corners even though the solidified institutions are entrenched in Zionism. It breaks my heart to pieces but I feel lucky to have seen it before formally converting. It's the storytellers that means the most to my heart, the subaltern keepers of memory. The survivors.
So I revel in being a bad Jew before I am finished becoming one, embracing the role of black sheep before even entering the fold, and will not fight against it.
Similarly, allowing my masculinity to be odd, offbeat and expressive - I did get beat down into a kind of cishet conformity for survival for awhile, and I'm not talking about feminizing my expression, but just being a weird fucking guy who violates male social contracts by existing as myself.
There's a freedom in renouncing desire for recognition, validation and asserting oneself (with humility!) in a tradition while still embracing it. Like hah! You can't get rid of me, I'm the pest assigned by G-d to question your assumptions unto my own exclusion, or relate freely to G-d, look them in the eyes while praying. I have an attitude and I'm not good, and don't care to be. Nothing has illustrated this more beautifully than the graphic novel The Rabbi's Cat. In which the figure of the dog and the cat play out as different orientations towards Hashem and Judaism itself.
There is room for all of us. If you don't think so, okay. We will keep making room for ourselves anyhow.
Meow meow.

What if Tywin died instead of Joanna?
i’m so mad i had a better structured answer and tumblr ate it so now this is super long and ranty. blame tumblr!!
anyways, i’m seeing three scenarios here
everyone is better off
the twins are still Doing That but tyrion is better off, so probably everything is still better off
aerys loses his absolute mind bc joanna is single now
while i imagine joanna does engage jaime to elia - and this is probably a much happier outcome for both of them, because joanna would have attempted to put a stop to the incest, up to and including sending cersei to foster somewhere else - i do think cersei is a huge question mark. she is often the instigator of their problems!
not to lay the respsonibility at her feet or anything, bc she experiences shit in her childhood that is enough to damage most people’s psyches (losing a parent that young and to childbirth is hard developmentally not to mention a fucked up prophecy hanging over her head & potential issues with empathy already!) and then experiences decades of spousal abuse, and is then given near unlimited power and told “now don’t do anything crazy lol” like, of course cersei decides “if i have to live in hell i’m taking these two idiots with me what are baby brothers FOR after all” and if you want them to have a chance at normalcy in adulthood, the key is for cersei to have a less traumatic time so she has half a chance at adjusting to the regular stressors of life. the main way to do this is to get her away from jaime and away from any terrible prophecies that trigger some sort of fucked up neurosis in her from an early age.
now, we don’t know who joanna had in mind for cersei, if she had even thought that far, but being lady regent of the west, she’s going to have significant control over who cersei marries. if she sends cersei away to foster somewhere to get her away from jaime, shes got a wide range of possibilities and if someone reaches out to her to get involved in their lil rebellion, she might take the opportunity to send cersei somewhere quite far, like riverrun or the eyrie or dorne or the fucking north, so long as it’s right now immediately & the distance might do cersei some good but equally possible cersei takes this as rejection and turns on her mother; though, if she’s spending her adolescent years somewhere with a healthier dynamic (and the bar is in hell) maybe cersei isn’t so paranoid. but that’s ONLY IF joanna is healthy enough & aware enough to send cersei away when she’s like 8 or 9. it’s a big if.
then there’s the tyrion of it all - i think joanna warms up to him eventually and cersei being elsewheres means he’s probably better off. at the very least, there’s less conflict if jaime married elia and had heirs like he was supposed to wrt tyrion, and Joanna may even attempt some matchmaking for him and can do that without the added stress of “he is disabled and also inheriting casterly rock” bc like, i’m not saying joanna would take the same hardline stance but i AM saying she saw something to love in fucjing TYWIN, and i don’t think she’s a saint who would unequivocably embrace her disabled son. BUT i don’t think she’d shame him or abuse him the way tywin does either. tyrion grows up in a family all similar to jaime; they certainly aren’t always respectful, frequently patronizing, dismissive, and tyrion is likely to get resentful at times (who wouldn’t) but i think everyone can agree that a household full of “i know they mean well but they don’t understand what it’s like” is an improvement over whatever the fuck tywin was doing.
all of this means…maybe the twins are married elsewhere when robert gains his throne potentially after KL goes boom since Jaime isn’t there to whack Aerys, but potentially after a much easier rebellion because dorne sided with the rebels, house lannister sides with the rebels, and they coup aerys the fuck out of there a bit easier. robert probably marries a tyrell or a hightower (there’s a few of marriage age and they’re rich) in that case. the realm is a lot better off lmao. OR cersei isn’t married yet (she’s still a lil young admittedly) and does marry robert. probably still attempts to pull jaime to her but joanna knows this is happening and is more inclined to stop it, especially with jaime married to elia, her best friend’s daughter and the beloved sister of the now prince of dorne. this probably causes a lot of problems ergo scenario two, but i do think a world where jaime or joanna is in charge of casterly rock, even a world where the incest still exists, is a world that is miles better off just bc joanna isn’t going to ignore the problem like tywin, and tyrion being even marginally less fucked up is a net win.
OR like i worried above, aerys starts a war for joanna. i mean, petyr started a war over his obsession with cat & sansa, it is not out of the realm of possibility that aerys “burning the lord paramount and his heir alive is fine actually” targaryen goes “joanna comes to court or i set casterly rock on fire” and that’s not really good for ANYONE.
so anyways if joanna lives it’s probably fine, probably even better actually, or maybe, everyone dies on fire. typical westeros really.

As a leading light in the constellation of “terrorism experts,” Jerrold Post has proposed that terrorists suffer from pathological personalities that emerge from negative childhood experiences and a damaged sense of self. Post argues for two terrorist personality types, depending on the specific quality of those childhood experiences. First, Post suggests, there is the “anarchic-ideologue.” This is the terrorist who has experienced serious family dysfunction and maladjustment, which lead to rebellion against parents, especially against the father. Anarchic-ideologues fight “against the society of their parents . . . an act of dissent against parents loyal to the regime.” Second, there is the terrorist personality type known as the “nationalist-secessionist”—apparently the name indicates “a sense of loyalty to authority and rebellion against external enemies.” During childhood, a terrorist of this personality type experienced a sense of compassion or loyalty toward his or her parents. According to Post, nationalist-secessionists have pathologically failed to differentiate between themselves and the other (parental object). Consequently, they rebel “against society for the hurt done to their parents . . . an act of loyalty to parents damaged by the regime.” Both the anarchic-ideologue and nationalist-secessionist find “comfort in joining a terrorist group of rebels with similar experiences.” The personality defect model views terrorists as suffering from personality defects that result from excessively negative childhood experiences, giving the individual a poor sense of self and a resentment of authority. As Ruby notes, “Its supporters differ in whether they propose one (Kaplan), two (Post and Jones & Fong), or three (Strentz) personality types.”
What all these models and theories aim to show is how an otherwise normal individual becomes a murderous terrorist, and that process time and again is tied to the failure of the normal(ized) psyche. Indeed, an implicit but foundational supposition structures this entire discourse: the very notion of the normal psyche, which is in fact part of the West’s own heterosexual family romance—a narrative space that relies on the normalized, even if perverse, domestic space of desire supposedly common in the West. Terrorism, in this discourse, is a symptom of the deviant psyche, the psyche gone awry, or the failed psyche; the terrorist enters this discourse as an absolute violation. So when Billy Collins (the 2001 poet laureate) asserted on National Public Radio immediately after September 11: “Now the U.S. has lost its virginity,” he was underscoring this fraught relationship between (hetero)sexuality, normality, the nation, and the violations of terrorism.
Not surprisingly, then, coming out of this discourse, we find that another very common way of trying to psychologize the monster-terrorist is by positing a kind of failed heterosexuality. So we hear often the idea that sexually frustrated Muslim men are promised the heavenly reward of sixty, sixty-seven, or sometimes even seventy virgins if they are martyred in jihad. But As‘ad Abu Khalil has argued, “In reality, political—not sexual—frustration constitutes the most important factor in motivating young men, or women, to engage in suicidal violence. The tendency to dwell on the sexual motives of the suicide bombers belittles these sociopolitical causes.” Now of course, that is precisely what terrorism studies intends to do: to reduce complex social, historical, and political dynamics to various psychic causes rooted in childhood family dynamics. As if the Palestinian Intifada or the long, brutal war in Afghanistan can be simply boiled down to bad mothering or sexual frustration! In short, these explanatory models and frameworks function to (1) reduce complex histories of struggle, intervention, and (non)development to Western psychic models rooted in the bourgeois heterosexual family and its dynamics; (2) systematically exclude questions of political economy and the problems of cultural translation; and (3) attempt to master the fear, anxiety, and uncertainty of a form of political dissent by resorting to the banality of a taxonomy.

I'd like to ask about something you mentioned very early into your readthroughs - Ushiromiya Shannon being too obvious to be real. Specifically, how you point to the tattoo of the one-winged eagle on her thigh (incidentally linking it to sexuality through visual signifiers where Eva's being on the arm would arguably link her relationship to The Family more to ideas of actively changing the world around her - see also her establishment as a martial artist, and the values she promotes in George's Adultsona) as marking some special relationship to the family, and speculating on it making her a vessel for resurrecting Beatrice. Do you think given this, and Battler's early sexually charged antics around Jessica, that Umineko is concerned with the cycles of abuse it portrays being in some way incestuous? I'd also point out relevant to this question is Natsuhi's valorisation of Kinzo, use of 'father' as honorific for him, and complexes around her use of the Ushiromiya name.
(cw for incest and sexual abuse)
your point about the eagle tattoo positioning is interesting and something i've not really thought about! eva's being in a place of pride vs shannon's being in a place of "shame" is rife with interpretive meaning.
i hesitate to say that what's going on in the ushiromiya abuse chain is incestuous in the literal sense but there is a certain kind of metaphorical psychological quasi-incestuous dimension to the dynamics we see. one strand of this is how kinzo is chiefly motivated by a lust for beatrice and how that forms the underpinning of his existence as the ushiromiya head, thus tinging the abuse that springs forth with this lens. i wonder if there isn't legwork to a semi-freudian look at the misogynist abuse in particular and how what it does more than anything is work to turn these women simultaneously into echoes of kinzo's beloved beatrice but equally his perfect subordinate and heir. natsuhi strives to both be kinzo's perfect successor but also a perfect mistress of rokkenjima - in one sense every victim of the ushiromiya family simultaneously aims to emulate both krauss and beatrice (save for the men, who already have Being Krauss granted to them in some form and thus instead angle towards Being Kinzo instead) (i also use krauss as the benchmark instead of kinzo because there is a certain hesitance within this psychodrama to actually surpass kinzo - they want kinzo's approval more than they want to be kinzo), which grows complicated and unsettling when thinking about the duality in relationships that those two represent.
when you consider that the twin ideals of being krauss and beatrice are imprinted onto the psyche of every ushiromiya adult, i think it can be helped to shape specifically the conformity-based abuses we see happening. rosa tears into maria because maria through her neurodivergence fails to be beatrice-like (quiet enigmatic sexually attractive woman whose strength is only as an accessory to kinzo's patriarchal fascist power) which is a reminder that rosa herself as an outcast woman low on the pecking order (with a failed relationship) is also far-removed from the beatrice ideal. jessica's struggle comes from the fact that her destiny is to be A Beatrice for someone else's Kinzo and every part of her rightfully recoils at that outcome (hence her boyish affect and the way she doesn't let battler's weird jokes about her slide unaddressed) but because of her position she can't actually see a concrete way out for herself since everything around her only works to reinforce this fate - being a krauss isn't an option for jessica, so it's either become a beatrice or flee the structure altogether.
george's adultsona is very much an attempt at turning him into a reincarnation of krauss (eva's an interesting wrinkle in this because her becoming-desire is to end up as A Kinzo and not A Beatrice, which eschews the strict gender essentialism in these roles) and the struggle thus comes from the fact that you can't be a healthy normal empathetic human if you're throwing yourself into one of these simulacra. on a vaguely related aside i suppose this adds another uncomfortable layer to his relationship with shannon - he engages with this relationship through his adultsona, meaning that on some level what's happening is that sayo runs the risk of being ripped out of the shannon role only to be forced into a beatrice role instead.
re: ushiromiya shannon under this model i think shannon not being related to the ushiromiya bloodline is even more important since it allows the incestuous psychological fantasy of the beatrice-successor to be played out to its natural terrible conclusion without the actual literal incest part happening (kinzo hates everyone in his family because while they can all be successors they can never fully fulfil the role of beatrice - his disdain therefore would take on an edge of sexual impotency). if shannon becomes beatrice then she can be beatrice all the way by being a perfect vessel to grand kinzo his desire of a union between himself and the witch on the level of the flesh instead of merely the level of the financial. beatrice giving kinzo the gold several decades back is a kind of suggestive act of insemination where the "offspring" of the union is the financial empire under kinzo's name. everything in his life except for his own kids are the fruits of his interaction with beatrice - the one thing he failed to do was actually procreate with the golden witch. which i guess then recontextualizes his "oooohhh beatriceee i only want to see your smile" breakdowns in that his sexual fascist delusion of a bloodline springing forth from that which he desires above all else supersedes his interest in material wealth - he is only flesh and blood, and flesh and blood needs to perpetuate itself somehow. of course the real beatrice is dead and gone and all this witch stuff is a phantasm so if this is to mean anything he needs to extend his delusion onto a suitable target that can play the role of being someone kinzo can have intercourse with for the express purpose of producing a kinzo-beatrice child. in other words you need a "perfect vessel" that is fit to "receive beatrice's spirit".
kind of tangential but this model makes the function of beatrice within the context of the murders deeply interesting since the murders are being carried out by servants choosing to adopt the persona of beatrice. i'm thinking here about genji, of someone taking on the moniker of the pinnacle of kinzo's sexual desire and how this man with unnatural levels of devotion towards kinzo so readily and absolutely is able to step into the role of beatrice (perhaps this is indicative that this whole time genji has wanted nothing more than to be beatrice for kinzo and then his role in the murders is at least in part a manifestation of queer desire?). there's also something to kanon wearing the mask of beatrice, as someone who would be aware of the depths of the abuse towards shannon in the name of said identity. is there a kind of ironic victory in kanon parading around beatrice's name after kinzo is dead? not quite reclamation but perhaps perversion of some kind - there has been subtext in that one chapter where kinzo treats kanon with bizarre grandfatherly affection. in the event of kinzo failing was kanon to play the role of kinzo to shannon's beatrice in another incestuous act of cruelty, passable only because kanon and shannon are not in fact blood related? if so then perhaps there's something additional to kanon donning the persona of beatrice and then choosing in his final moments to reject both her and kinzo.
all of this is something i've not really thought about due it being a subject matter you're not inherently inclined to want to consider so a lot of this post is more me thinking things through for the first time so sorry if some of this post is a little incoherent or meandering lol. i do think there's some merit to all this, but i'm not sure how deep or literal it goes in the text. definitely a very interesting framework that's worth keeping in mind moving forward as another way of contextualizing what's going on with the abuse in the ushiromiya family though!

tagged by my adored alex @gothbat99 to do a little self-love moment 🥹💛
rules: post five of your favorite fics that you've written and talk about why you love them. tag some mutuals so they can do the same and we can all spread some positivity about our writing ❤️
✨someone else's favorite song - 120k | rated E - I swing wildly on the pendulum between loving this fic for all that it is and wanting desperately to Fix It, but lately I've felt a lot of pride in this thing, warts and all. I went into this one thinking I was the extent of the audience for it and let the stream of consciousness muscle pull it out of me without much forethought, but ended up finding so much connection to the people reading it who felt seen or understood in some way in their own grieving processes. No matter where I am on the pendulum of feelings about this story, I am never not grateful that my own little catharsis has been able to create a sort of 'not aloneness' every time someone is kind and courageous enough to share their own stories with me in the comments 💛
✨that's just wasteland, baby! - 19k | rated E - I started writing this entirely because at the time I couldn't find any fics that really dived into what an apocalyptic Hawkins setting might look like and I wanted to READ it more than anything. It's so slice-of-life in that world and I had really so much fun building up the rules of the world and the dynamics between characters still in the fight but settled to an extent within a new normal to the point where even Steve can't even remember how long they've been doing it. 'the world ended but we're still going' is one of my favorite premises of all time and this universe is one I'm genuinely SO proud of without any equivocation about it UGH
✨how the light gets in - 29k (wip series) | rated T-E - if there are going to be one million and one versions of kas!Eddie (including my own) there HAS to be a kas!Chrissy and by god if I have to do it myself I WILL. Wheelingham is one of those things that just smacked me in the face one day when I realized the unending potential of taking a fridged girl, bringing her back to life, and making her kiss the final girl, like... COME ON. This series is a labor of love and it's truly such a joy to do a proper character study on two girls who have so much untapped potential built into their psyches. they're my babies I am holding them gently in my hands and never letting go :(((
✨METAMORPHOSES - 160k | rated E - I think of everything I've written for ST, this might be the thing that's most structurally sound writing-wise, like it's long enough that there are definitely spots it could use smoothing, but I am genuinely so proud of how it turned out and how it told the exact story I set out to tell. I love these characters, I love their little house in Indy, I love the ways they grow and regress in tandem, I LOVE THEM YOUR HONOR. Never has a vision I had at the start ended up feeling So Right to this extent and I will never stop screaming about this fic just you try to stop me 💚🐍
✨The Hawk - 10k (wip series) | rated T - "The Bear" AU that no one asked for but which I am wholly and completely enamored with only 2 'episodes' in. Another chance at a Nancy-centric story with the added bonus of getting to write so many POVs of a larger ensemble? Incoming Ronance and Lumax and Steddie and Jargyle?? Wheeler sibling dynamic exploration?? it's my DREAM tbh and it's surprisingly simple to slot our ST characters into this wildly different world because you know what! At the end of the day it's all just about family isn't it!!! UGH. Once I'm done with writing (redacted) trust that I will be launching myself back into this one full-force, I've got so many plans and I can't wait to show you all more of this world
(if you've already been tagged apologies but also) tagging! @kkpwnall @fragilecapric0rnn @judasofsuburbia @gideoncharov @figthefruitfaeth @cheatghost @stargyles @capriciouslyterminal @sharpbutsoft @hellsfireclub

Da*mon (targ)stans : Nooo he was good husband and father what he did was for good reason its justify ( whole thread of tweets why b&c is justified ) TARGS ARE THE BEST HOUSE THEY DID GOOD THINGS FOR 7 KINGDOMS THEY NEVER DID BAD THING ALL WHAT THEY DID FROM CRIMES AND GENOCIDE IS JUSTIFIED ITS THE FAULT OF THE OTHER HOUSES ESPECIALLY HIGHTOWERS
Lannister stans : I like jaime cersei and tywin BUT tywin us bad guy he litreally killed elia because aerys choose her over cersei he did it to insult martells he is bad guy a bad dad he never loved his kids as his own he litreally saw them as legacy for house of lannister
Cersei was not a good mom and jaime is the same he wasn't good person he did alot messed up stuff and he should answer for it so dose cersei
you’re so right anon. it’d be better if people didn’t insist upon having to have the moral high ground in factions that are the exact opposite of such. neither team black or team green are morally good, nor are any of the houses in asoiaf. (pro and anti house stark meta, especially regarding their role with theon as a hostage is a good example, as well as the same for house baratheon, outside of the two houses we’re focusing on here). characters like d*emon do not have to be “morally grey” (which has been overused and pretty much lost most meaning and now functions as code for evil but i like them so they can do no wrong) or “morally pure”, and never in my life have i seen people argue for why tywin, cersei, etc, are all righteous for their heinous actions, despite the nuances of their psyches and narratives. it’s only ever to explain why they’d act or react in such ways, which isn’t excusing their behaviours in the slightest. understanding why ≠ thinking it’s okay. and on that same point, whilst d*emon’s actions can be explained easily (it was revenge and in a time of war) the murder of jaehaerys and mental torture and trauma caused to jaehaera, maelor and helaena cannot be justified by fandom or the narrative in any sort of way. the dance is not solely to blame on the hightowers or the rest of the 7k, it’s a reflection on the constant changing of targaryen succession laws e.g. rhaenys vs viserys, queen rhaena’s daughters placing before jaehaerys i in succession but jae being crowned, the conflict that was daenerys and aemon prior to daenerys’ death, etc, even viserys’ remarriage, thus resting blame for the dance on house targaryen (it was a civil war for a reason). b&c is not deserved, nor do any of those kids deserve to suffer because of what their uncle did by killing lucerys. (and if targ stans want to argue that, do they then think dany should be punished for the crimes her father, brothers and ancestors committed?)
i express my dislike for d*emon fairly regularly, and if you’ve come from the post i think you have then you’ve already seen my thoughts on him. so i don’t think it warrants more discussion. instead i offer a little meta. the targaryens and post-tywin lannisters are consistently shown to commit atrocities (wiping out houses, child murdering, usurpation, etc) and something I’ve noticed is that in asoiaf house lannister’s downfall stems primarily from tywin trying to strengthen it by emulating aerys’ and the targaryen’s structure of fear based power, when traditionally their power came through wit (e.g. lann the clever). cersei and jaime’s incest could be an alternate representation of how trying to targ-ify their house impacted them all negatively (joffrey’s madness, war, gold their crowns/gold their shrouds) and the weakening of their power through such actions, same as rhaegar and cersei’s connections to prophecy and a desire to either ensure it does/doesn’t come true (the prince that was promised and gold their crowns/a younger more beautiful queen). all of which are similar to how the consistent inbreeding, violence and warped family dynamics of house targaryen caused infighting and screwed them all over.

So if Bruce and Alfred's humanity is a disfigured shadow they'd like to have gone, what about the Joker??
Is his humanity a knife made of fish hooks with which he rips parts of people out, taking a little of their humanity with him? He uses it as a tool to hurt others and himself and acknowledges his humanity once in a while, while Bruce pretends to be unfeeling and cold, a monster in the dark that you should be afraid of.
Only the problem is that the Joker can see through Batman's facade and that the fish hook can't scratch a shadow or catch anything on stone. And even if he rips through Bruce's flesh, his shadow is a separate thing entirely, detached from his body, unchanging even if an arm goes missing.
Oh look, I wrote something again. What do you think? Is a fish hook an accurate metaphor or do you have something else in mind? Would love to hear your thoughts!!!
[in continuation of this ask]
❤️ so i'm lowkey in love with how you interpreted Joker's relationship with his own humanity and other people's, there's something so intricate and so right about the way you phrased it— maybe not the knife, but he absolutely works like a fish hook. I think that Joker isn't interested in anyone's humanity, his own or Batman's or anyone else's. To me though, he's in mad love with all things true and real and pure and sublime. He wants the untainted untouched heart of everything in a very idealistic sense, but not necessarily in a good sense. He doesn't want violence, he doesn't want evil, he doesn't want goodness; he wants the unbearable highest point of pure evil, he wants the most sublime expression of unflinching goodness. There's a reason why he works so-and-so in his dynamic with most villains, but comes alive when he's facing Batman. Batman as a persona is an ideal that does not bend to the reality surrounding Bruce, the "no killing" code doesn't adopt or respond to much anything that gets thrown Batman's way, it's almost pure good (except that it's not because Batman can only deny his humanity for so long and when it eventually bursts through the metaphorical door of his mind, both him and Joker hate it.)
So like, yeah, fish hook. I think Joker throws fish hooks into people's psyche and pulls out what he believes is their true, core nature, their essence. It's what he needs, he desperately wants to get to the very heart of existence, so he continuously claws people's core out of them, or what he thinks is their core. And he does it the most with Batman precisely because Batman provides a challenge. I dont think at any given time Batman truly knows what his core is, so he gets to define it. He defines his identity with his bare hands and that's both his biggest strength and his weakness. Strength because it gives him the power of choice, he's not necessarily what you'd call a good person, but he makes the conscious choice to do good and his choice defines him, but also it's a weakness because by choice he's leaving massive parts of himself out of the picture, and he never really... gets to exist as a human being, always present only in carefully curated bits and pieces. That leaves him vulnurable to attack because well, what you dont see and down own you cannot defend.
That also makes him the most fun handmade project for Joker to break, because as you said, Joker is /very/ good at seeing the holistic picture of Batman's identity, and Joker is objectively more oriented towards reality, the reality of their context and where they live. It's part of the reason his insanity is so compelling; it's intentional, not as in he's faking his insanity, but as in, he understands social structures and people's humanity so damn well and he flies off the handle in precise ways that respond to them that brings of of them exactly what he wants, he orients his insanity to different contexts and people very well. He's a paradigm breaker and a people breaker but you can only successfully break what you understand very well.
As for Joker's own humanity? i think he hates it and resents it and fears it because well, it's not sublime and true and pure, it's just human. Actually lot of Joker and Batman's dynamic is built around this sense of idealism and purity really, they both struggle so hard with just fucking being. Joker can't even be an average villain, he has to push it on every fucking front and be the most exceptional vile and grotesque face of evil, only then does he feel like himself.
Honestly if i had to make an allegory for Joker and Batman's relationship with each other's humanity, [tw mentions of suicide attempt] it'd be the story of two children, each one bringing the other a chair and a rope to dangle from the cieling, each taunting the other to hang themselves, not by the premise of dying, but by the premise that "you having your head near the cieling is the closest you'll be to g-d, and you'll be good and true", and they tell each other that the chair is their enemy, they dont need it.

Ni Translocality
Tumblr media
Metaphors & Visual Aphorisms
The Ni function compels the individual to live a slowly paced, hands-off life of observation and reflection on the information structures of the world. They are first and foremost data synthesizers that formulate image-encoded schemas from unconsciously woven patterns in reality. The Ni user will be very graphic in their consciousness, thinking in visuals and representing the world through visual metaphors. These dynamic, but geometric, relationships are registered as essential to reality's functioning and are eventually superimposed onto other life domains in a proverbial form. "A tree's branches can only grow as far up as its roots go down", "flowing water never goes stale" or "every light casts a shadow" are examples of the graphical aphorisms that may develop from this information synthesizing process. For the Ni user, the world is not comprehended through words or axioms but through these visual relationships which words help to convey to others. These relations are often symmetrical in nature --as embodied in concepts like the Taoist yin-yang symbol-- due to the abundance of symmetry observed in life itself. An elaborate worldview inescapably develops predicated on these abstracted relationships, aimed to give life predictability and continuity of narrative. The world is never seen straightforwardly by the Ni user, as reality is formed from representative structures --not rational absolutes. Knowledge, to the Ni user, is the net awareness gained by superimposing layers of these representations on reality and mapping its landscape as far and wide as possible.
Tumblr media
The Mind & Panpsychism
And because he views reality as representation, the Ni user will constantly experience life as a perceptual sphere built from the interactions of mind and material. The world appears as a tapestry woven together by higher forces which underpin every object and substance – causing the objects themselves to feel like the outer shells or totems of fundamental forces. And a sense will often exist – as explored in phenomenology – that consciousness is the essential thing. In some form or another, the Ni user will come to embody the philosophy that the psyche has a degree of priority over the material. One way to imagine this is to say the world constellates itself to the Ni user as being built equally of “psyche” and of matter. Still, every Ni user will synthesize this felt sense in slightly different ways, with some believing that consciousness is the prime constituent of reality and others feeling we are co-creators of reality by our active participation in how it appears to us and how we ascribe meaning to the contents within it. This can lead magnetically to a type of panpsychism, where the Ni user views the contents of the mind seriously as entities, forces, energies and contours as perceivable as literal objects are to other people. These psychological images and forces will not only be present, but will also be persistent. To them the psyche has a steady-yet-fluid shape; an image and terrain that is to be explored through vision and internal perception. And while other types may arrive at similar philosophies through rationality, for the Ni user this sensation is not something deduced but instead simply uncovered, as it represents the default state of their experience. This proclivity naturally leads to an interest in meditation, eastern thought and spirituality which emphasizes these same psychic aspects and presents a philosophy of consciousness more natively aligned to their phenomenological experience.
Tumblr media
Narrowness & Convergence
Yet for all their openness towards surreal ideas about consciousness, the Ni user is not at all random or unstructured in their views. They are scarcely persuaded of most things and are instead highly cautious of ideas overall. The Ni user will have a keen eye for identifying the improbability of things and will not be prone to jump on board with things unless their inner imagery already maps out an inescapable trajectory in that direction. The Ni user is not an inciter or generator of novel things, nor is his specialty a spontaneous creativity, but is instead the holistic assimilation of trends over time, and a convergence of perspective along the most reinforced trend-lines. They generally see only one or a few trajectories stemming from a given situation and are magnetically drawn to the likeliest interpretations. Thus, the ideas the Ni user arrives at are not things he creates, but things he discovers to already be "the case"; often sourcing from an inside-out evaluation of being but just as well from a panoramic evaluation of society. In this way, the Ni user is a sort of investigator or excavator of the primordial imagery in himself and society. More than any other type, the Ni user receives a linear and direct feed of the imagery of the unconscious, and because of this convergence of focus, many Ni users across time continue to re-discover and re-articulate the same things as they unearth the same territory. As Ni users from all ages inquire into questions of being, their convergent intuition guides them to parallel answers and to convey those understandings in imagery --since image is the primary means by which that information is discovered and encoded. A canonical historical archive therefore has developed over time in the form of symbology; the encrypted patterns and representative structures that underpin reality, as collectively uncovered over time.
Tumblr media
Symbology
In this sense, the Ni user may often find camaraderie in the symbology that has been laid down by previous pioneers for its capacity to give a form of articulation to that felt inner content. Strange as it may seem to others to believe or seriously consider such archaic and outdated emblems, the Ni user is drawn to these old images the same way the Si user is drawn to information encoded in the old earth. The Ni user may not wish to be a mystic whatsoever, and when not fully individuated may shrink away from this imagery for fear of academic reprimand. And yet they may feel as though their style of awareness drafts them inescapably into these ideas. They emerge out of themselves when any intense investigation is done or indeed even when no investigation is done. The realm of alchemical symbolism, the Tarot, ayurvedic medicine and Astrology may be studied intently for their capacity to superimpose a representation over life. Shapes also contain a powerful influence over them, and they may be drawn to sacred geometry and mandalas. Numerology may also be investigated. Over time, by studying these emblems with the intention of discovering what their true meanings are, they are slowly transformed into the likeness of those who built them. As they unearth the contents of this domain, they often become affiliated with the taxonomies used by their predecessors to try to express this underworld. However, their dabbling in these ideas may earn them a reputation as a mystic and confuse family and friends who may not understand the significance in such concepts.
Tumblr media
Archetypes & Stereotypes
As the Ni user matures into a personal worldview, a vast archive of typicalities form by these observations. Each pattern of life is epitmoized in the psyche as an general rule or process. This leads quite inescapably to the formation of stereotypes at the local level and archetypes at the universal level --both of which are used to map reality by providing a sense of predictability. In the positive sense, this stereotyping tendency allows for life to be an iconic series of interactions between previously indexed forces and entities. The Ni user will overlay their schema onto the world and see iterations of the same substances everywhere. From this vantage point, certain social or political interactions will appear to them as clockwork; a series of eventualities stemming from two or more colliding forces. The interactions in a neighborhood may be seen through the same light, as categories are applied to each class of person and their collisions cause transformations through a sort of necessary chemistry. But as often captured by the negative sense of the word stereotype, this can lead to errors in perception where a pattern or schema is superimposed over a situation too prematurely. A person is anticipated to be a given way, due to the symbol they represent, while turning out to be quite different. And at the archetypal level, the same simplification may occur where the Ni user reduces the global situation as something emergent from a conflict between the light and dark, the masculine and feminine, an interaction of four or five elements or some other schema which neglects certain subtleties and details. This may be infuriating to those who live with the Ni user as they may feel the Ni user is oversimplifying them, or worse that they are pigeonholing people into their categories --whether of culture, class, race or gender. Many may scoff at the Ni user for depending on what they feel are outdated prejudices and not seeing things at the individual level. But the Ni user cannot ignore what larger pattern someone or something generally belongs to and will tend to incidentally synthesize life from that lens even without any actual investment or commitment to any dogma or belief system.
Tumblr media
Synchronicity & Parapsychology
Another effect that often emerges from the Ni function is a belief in synchronicity. Because of how Ni registers life through a delicate tracking of "significance" --not by the rigidity of causal chains-- the Ni user will instinctively see the value in data associations that converge in theme and motif, even when the cause is yet unknown. As is often the case for both intuitive processes, the pattern is recognized first without needing to have the sensory points explicitly traced and neither does the absence of a sequential explanation make the information alignments vanish. And when Ni is especially strong, seemingly disconnected layers of existence are woven together through an entangled point; compelling many Ni users to contend with the possible existence of the acausal. Certain events or datasets may be felt as crossing different planes of reality and being inexorably related even when a surface examination would see no trace between them. They may be struck by compelling evidence for the existence of extra-sensory perception or remote viewing which allows us to see through the eyes of others or predict their thoughts. For some, relationships may be intuited to exist between oneself and previous lives. Areas of the body may be associated with certain psychic energies through emotional tapping, chakras, iridology or palmistry. Certain recurring numbers may be felt as omens of blessings or catastrophes. If these intimations persist, they can become highly suspicious and feel that certain events will come about in the near future when a given number, detail or sign suggests a karmic force is strongly at play.
Tumblr media
-Behaviors Under Stress
Conspiracy Theories
When the Ni user falls out of mental health, their suspicions degrade further into superstitions, death omens and a persistent state of anxiety. Life becomes chaotic and unpredictable. The world will feel utterly uncertain to them and they will not be able to clearly see the cause of their own suffering or that of society. As they struggle to intuit their situation through perceptual projection, the misfortunes they experience are not interpreted as localized occurrences but are instead epitomized as emerging from some extra-personal force looming over all things. They will start to perceive a woven network of intentions behind everything, pulling the strings of society at large. It's here that we see the Ni user fabricate conspiracy theories; extraterrestrial hypotheses, occult government sects, the imminent rise of a new world order and the like. A sense exists that something unseen is making all this happen, and for once the Ni user loses their non-committal nature and becomes utterly fixated on certain interpretations of life. This will cause them great difficulty in their daily lives as the Ni user may be quickly ostracized from society for their bizarre premonitions. More than a few distressed Ni users throughout history have been branded the local lunatics; eventually growing morose and resentful for what they feel is the lack of foresight and idiocy of the common man.
Tumblr media
Apocalyptic Visions
A different effect we often see in a distressed Ni user is a series of apocalyptic visions. They may experience nightmares, either when asleep or awake, vividly depicting scenes of war, destroyed buildings, massacres and the end of a civilization. And the Ni user may experience these sudden flashes with the same level of physicality with which they experience their waking life --making it difficult to discredit them as illusions. Here we see an unconscious projection and intrusion of their polar sensory function into their mind, causing literal sensations to trigger their nervous system without an actual cause. The relationship between intuition and sensation is a two-way street, where one can seep into the other unbidden when an excessive repression is at its breaking point --allowing their intuitions to unconsciously fabricate sensory experiences that are patterned after their thematic convergence. These unsettling images may cause them to feel that their visions are in fact pending actualities. A memento mori will settle over them. Society is on the brink of collapse; everything is headed in the worst direction and anything short of immediate correction will lead to an irreparable catastrophe.

Self development series: learning to handle life.
Tumblr media
For 8th housers, scorpio placements - stretch to cancer, pisces placements and risings.
*knocks* Hello, astro world, it's me.. look at my birth chart please and tell me what's wrong with me? Why is my life a mess..? Why do I attract such narcissistic, controlling, manipulative people in my life? Why do i feel like I dont exist and am constantly transforming..? I have a weird relationship with my family.. I have so much trauma... I just want answers...
Just a regular day in the life of natives with vulnerable placements. Until they heal their trauma (which can take years), they would not know how to handle their life. How to not fuck up their relationships, mood, reactions, career, body, mind. The hidden gift of these natives is to be in touch with their insticts and emotional life. They do not just exist but are in tune with their emotional states. When unevolved, they act on their impulses, feelings, imagination, thoughts mindlessly.
When evolved, they have a conscious control over their impulses, feelings, imagination and fantasies. This is a gradual process, not overnight, and one filled with many trials, challenges and fallings. Contrary to the stereotypes, these natives are not doomed to be crybabies/crazy all their lives. They certainly can handle their life, depending upon the whole chart, timing of planets and the luck.
The trick is to know when to be rational and when to let loose. The trick is to change your lifestyle in such a way as accommodates things you can control. For eg, do not buy tubs of ice cream if you know you binge eat in maniac state. The trick is to live in the flow, be in the flow of life, mindfulness comes naturally to you when you are not giving in to every self destructive impulse. The trick is to set values for yourself. For eg, do not do casual hookup if you know you will get attached and obsessive. The trick is to hold yourself to higher standards of behaviour. The trick is to find fellow similar/compatible placement natives who will make your life a little easier. The trick is to become aware of your own inner narcissist and stop feeding him/her what they crave, instead choose the opposite action.
There is a thin line between chaos and order, that these natives know very well of. Sometimes they feel like they do not belong to this world, they are misfits, as if they want to go back to home. As if they daily life is very harsh and tiresome to them. Beware not to fall into the grips of substance abuse and/or criminal gangs. At the end of the day, you are responsible for your life. You have to live anyway, so why not make it worthwhile?
"Everything of which I know, but of which I am not at the moment thinking; everything of which I was once conscious but have now forgotten; every thing perceived by my senses, but not noted by my conscious mind; and everything which, involuntarily and without paying attention to it, I feel, think, remember, want, and do; all the future things that are taking shape in me and will sometime come to consciousness: all this is the content of the unconscious." - On the Nature of the Psyche, The Structure and Dynamics of the Psyche, CW 8, par. 382.
